Drinking and driving will change your whole world. The next time you're out with friends, consider what would happen if you got pulled over after drinking, like the legal fees or the time in court or a DUI on your record. Drive sober or get pulled over.

Hour number three of the Rich Eisen Show is on the air. And as I told you at the outset, we talked about in, I believe, the end of hour number one. This is a. Show one of two for me today, uh, right here on the Rich Eisen Show, wrapping this hour up and then. Tonight I'll be heading to downtown Los Angeles.

to host Sports Center for the first time in 22 years. And um Let's go. That's going down tonight. That's going to be great. It's going to be, I assume, like riding a bicycle.

I imagine. I mean, you've sat at a desk, you've you've watched it in a while. You've worn ears, you've spoken to a microphone. Not to go all Hoosiers on you here, but because you know, it's just you just measure the camera to the desk and the, you know, the microphone to your tie. Promptor still works.

Pretty much, right. And one of the individuals who kindly wrote about it and left an Easter egg in there that I did not know when I invited him on the program is a man who constantly thinks that I'm telling him to go get a Shinebox. And I would never do that to Mike Florio, but the creator, editor-in-chief of Pro Football Talk, and of course the author. Uh, is joining us here on the Rich Eisen Show? Big Shield, I believe, is uh coming up, Mike.

Great, you're you're you're Your your book? Big shield tomorrow. It drops tomorrow? Yeah, and you can still pre-order it, and the pre-orders are much more significant than I would thought they would have been, but my bar was logged.

So I'm very happy with what it's done so far. That's before anyone reads it. Once they read it, they may regret it. But at least for now, I've persuaded a significant number of people to plunk down 99 cents for the e-book, $14.99 for the print. The print is selling well.

Like the e-book is ridiculously priced and I thought people would skew that way, but the print option Is doing well, and we'll see. We'll see how it goes. But it's a big week. It's a week of a lot of anxiety.

So, are you saying people are holding in? On the e-book.

So you're basically saying there's a lot of hold-ins right now on the e-book. There are plenty of hold-ins. I don't know whether or not those folks have legitimate injuries that would cause them to skip work and stay home and read the book, but if they can get a note. Yep. I love it.

Yeah. I get it. Absolutely. Listen, man. I mean, you've been at this.

Just as long as I've had. Right. I mean, and it's like a Mad Lib every year. Where you just change the proper names and you change the proper names of the teams and the players. Although there's one specific mad lib involving the Cowboys that includes, like, why aren't they signing this person that we know those are going to sign?

But It just strikes me that we're not even close to midnight. For some of these deals. And the one that involves Trey Hendrickson now actually involves the Bengals. Taking offers for him. Like, that just makes no sense for me.

I'm just going to give you the floor on what you think. Again, we've talked about it in the, by the way. Multiple times in which you've appeared this month on this program. It's going to get done, I feel, but you never know. I guess.

What what's your two cents now that we're here? two weeks before the season. You know, I think we are up to three this month. The over-under was 0.5, so that one sailed a long time ago. Wow.

The reporting from yesterday That the Bengals are listening to offers. That is a subtle yet, in my mind, significant shift from the reporting back in March. And the timeline's important. Max Crosby got his new deal from the Raiders at $35.5 million per year, new money average. Immediately after that, Hendrickson got permission.

To go seek a trade. And I believe the calculation by the Bengals was. Let him find out. That nobody else wants to pay him what he wants. And I believe he found out.

No one at the time wanted him to pay what he was looking for, but now, now we've seen Miles Garrett get to 40, TJ Watt get to 41. The fact. That the Bengals, according to the report, are listening to offers, that implies that there are one or more teams out there. That are willing. To give Hendrickson something he would accept, whereas that was not the case earlier in the offseason.

So the question now becomes: will the Bengals take whatever the best offer may be? And will they be unreasonable about it? Because, Rich, at a certain point, if the Bengals are saying, well, we want this, we want that, it's like, whoa, whoa, if you think he's that great, then why don't you keep him? Why don't you sign him?

So they need to be reasonable. And if they're willing to be reasonable, it sure seems like listening to offers is a precursor to getting a deal done.

So, but you know how this works too, man. Like, there's got to be a number. It exists. The question is: how do you split it up of what's guaranteed, what's not, what's new money, what's not, how much is up front, how much isn't, all of that sort of stuff. The numbers got to exist.

And unless You know, he wants to reset the market. And by the way, that goes the same for McLaurin. I imagine with the Commanders, and these are the two teams that are playing tonight on Monday Night Football to wrap up preseason week two. Mike is a different story. We know he's going to reset the market.

That's going to be. 100%. Um but the other two That's the only caveat. I just don't know if those guys are doing that right now.

Well, and structure is so important. You know, last year when the Bengals were going through a hold-in with receiver Jamar Chase, they made him an offer that would have made him the highest paid receiver, new money APY. But the structure, I was told at the time, was horrendous.

So if you're only going to guarantee the first year of the deal, which they've reportedly only been willing to do with Hendrickson, what's the point? And if somebody else is willing to guarantee at least two years or maybe more than that as a practical matter, those are all the details that rarely get mentioned in the initial burst of news about a report or about a contract being done. That comes afterward where we really understand what the deal is worth because all that matters is what you're guaranteed to get the minute you put pen to paper. And you mentioned Micah a couple of times, Rich. I've been saying all along that Cowboys, I believe, and I continue to believe, and I think the Easter eggs are there in the things that Jerry Jones says.

I think they want. To pay him $24 million this year and dare him to cite Back tightness or some other malady that keeps him from playing. They're going to dare him to not play football this year, and they're going to squat on $24 million. I firmly believe that's the play that the Cowboys are trying to engineer. Why?

Why? Because they can, because it's cheaper than paying him. And look at it this way. If he's serious about being traded. And he's done nothing to indicate in the 17 days since he posted on Twitter that very lengthy and.

And seemingly heartfelt explanation That it's time for him to move on from the Cowboys. If they are willing to trade him, what are they going to get for him now that's all that different than what they would get for him after the season? They get the same first-round picks, right? You can't use one now.

So I think from their perspective, We We treat him as being under contract because that's what Jerry says. Why are we talking about a new contract? He's under contract. He's under contract. Right.

He's got the 50-year option. He's committed to the Cowboys this year.

So he has to choose: do I play football for the Cowboys or do I play this game week in and week out where I have a back injury or some other problem that keeps me from playing? They get through the season, see how much he does play, and then trade him then out from under the franchise tag. I think that's what they would like to do. I don't really want to trade him. I think they want to kick the can.

You know, they only do deals when they absolutely have to. And I think because Micah showed up, if he held out, it's a different story. But because he showed up, I think they believe they can kick the can to next year, and I think they'd like to do it. Wow. That just doesn't make It just doesn't compute, man.

I I listen, I understand what you're saying in terms of You know, it's less cash out. But I mean, this is a team that doesn't You know, I mean, it's about winning it all. And to have. A standard. Is it though?

Is it? I know that's always the question about the Cowboys. Isn't it about the the the Forbes number more than another trophy in the case? You know, I understand that, but at the end of the day, though. Um It should be about winning, and I do believe it is at the end of the day.

Um Mm-hmm. Makes no sense to have a standoff, unless there is that part of the iceberg that we don't see that's going on behind the scenes where he's a pain in the ass. And some of the coaches from last year and some of the players from previous years are like You got to hold Micah to account. And this is Jerry doing that. on their behalf.

That otherwise, why are you kneecapping Iberfluce in its first DC and your new HC like this? Why are you doing that over 20 million plus per year? Right. And we're assuming He won't play. I think.

That they believe when push comes to shove, he will play. One of the common themes that we see in these contracts: teams will use. The players' love of the game, love of the teammates, love of the hometown, love of the favorite team against them. T. Higgins' contract that he ultimately did with the Bengals.

When you scratch it, And look at it, it really wasn't that great of a deal given the leverage he had. But he wanted to play for the Bengals. He grew up rooting for the Bengals. I think teams will use that against a guy, and they will use it. And I believe they're using Micah's love of the game against him and daring him to do this week in and week out.

Will he play, won't he play? And think of it this way, Rich. And I thought the quotes last week from Jerry Jones at the premiere of the the Netflix series that drops tomorrow. I think his 365 day a year soap opera.

Soliloquy. is so telling. As to what He's ultimately motivated by, and that is keeping the Cowboys front and center. And so if they do this, 24 million. For Micah.

Make him an offer that he'll accept before week one. And one of the storylines every week: Will Micah play? Will Micah play? That just guarantees. All year long, if they weren't going to be one of the short list of teams we talk about all the time, anyway.

They definitely will be. What's up with Micah this week? What's up with Micah this week? And at what point will he play? And I think they are banking.

On him when push comes to shove, showing up and playing for $24 million this year. He played for $3 million last year. I mean, think about it. Rich, they're potentially going to get two years out of Michael Parsons for $27 million, $13.5 million a year, two of his prime years. If they trade him next year, so be it.

But they're going to be able to say, hey, we got a great deal here. Everybody else is paying. The high-end defensive players, $35 million, $40 million a year. We got Micah two years for $27 million. I think that's part of the calculation, along with the talk about us.

Talk about the Cowboys. Pay attention to the Cowboys.

Well, I mean, in terms of the Micah stuff, Mike, you know, people that I talk to. Tell me, he's just a different cat. He will hold out. Like he will basically he's the type of guy that that will zag when everyone else is zigged back. into the fold that he's he's just a different guy.

And he's very prideful. And in the same way that Jerry might be obstinate, like we had a handshake agreement, he'd be like, wait a minute.

Now I'm not apologizing for asking for my agent to come in here. And I know you feel like a handshake's a handshake, but I'm also, you know. The only guy other than Reggie White that's had these many sacks in the first four years of a career, and I'm Micah Friggin Parsons. And So be it. And that's where this thing can really go down a rabbit hole.

Right there. You know. It just makes no sense. It doesn't, it's, it's, and I know you're a Seinfeld guy, right? Isn't that line?

It's not good for anybody. You know what I mean? And that's not going to be good for business. That's not going to be good for anybody. That's right.

You know what I mean? That's the relevant Seinfeld line here, Mike, right? You know?

Well, you know, it's not a party until Mr. Marble shows up.

So. But But rich, rich, and I know there's two schools of thought here, and the Micah's strategy was: I'll show up. And I'll be a distraction. Right, first of all, Jerry doesn't mind distractions, he welcomes distractions because it's just another reason to talk about the Cowboys. I believe Micah should have held out the two guys in recent years, Ezekiel Elliott in 2019 and CeeDee Lamb last year.

You hold out, you force Midnight to come as of week one if you hold out. The hold in. Again, they have a can that they can kick into 2026, and I think they're going to try to do it. He would have been far more likely to get the contract he's trying to get, $45 million per year, new money, APY, presumably, if he had held out. But guys are less likely to hold out now.

You know, those daily fines, although they're waivable for a guy like Micah, that money adds up. You lose if you're a guy under his fifth-year option. The fine for missing a preseason game is a game check.

So it's $24 million divided by 18. That's the fine.

Now, I don't know if the Cowboys are going to play hardball there, but Micah decided I'm just going to show up. I think he would have been in a better position to get the long-term contract if he had held out the way Elliott did and the way Lamb did.

Well, neither Elliott nor Lamb were. you know, told by Jerry, you need to be a better of a leader. Although maybe Zeke was, I don't know. But that wasn't part of the lamb conversation last year. And that was why from what I, again.

in the conversations that I've had that The micah showing up is him saying, You want to be a leader? I'm here leading by my presence. as opposed to being like CD last year. And I was told that was part of the handshake, you know, one-on-one conversation that. Apparently, again, is still lingering today as a major sticking point in the conversations that aren't being had between Jerry and Micah's team.

I was told Micah showed up because this was his way of saying, You want me to be a leader? I'm here. even though it might be better for me not to. in your respect. Like that's what I was.

And Rich, look. I don't want to give The Cowboys too much credit because I believe that they are very short-sighted and cheap. And not as smart as they think they are when it comes to dealing with these players who need and deserve and have earned contracts. Hey, that leadership talk got him to show up. And they have a lot more leverage over him if he shows up.

It can do this 24 million. for 2025 Thing if they believe they can pull it off.

So this goes back to. A report from the Cowboys flagship. Radio station in April of 24 that his act was wearing thin. And I look at it this way: if you have problems with Micah Parsons, then trade him, because there will be teams out there that will tolerate a guy who does a podcast and talks about his team. I mean, he is good enough that you put up with that.

So if you're not willing to put up with it, trade him to someone who will. And that could be the end result. After this season, I'll be very surprised if he's traded before the season or during the season. I think that this lines up for a possible, possible get through 2025. And then tag and trade in 2026.

Yeah, and I think that tracks again you're saying the Easter eggs that Jerry's saying a number of times. Jerry's like, why do I got to talk to him? I mean, he's under contract.

So, I mean, that he keeps on referring to. What you're referring to, that $24 million for the year. Before I let you go, Mike Florio, what are we not talking about from preseason week two? What jumped out at you that you think actually does Auger. Anything for the 2025 season or has something to do with a winner or loss, Mike Florio.

I give you the floor. What do you got? I'm curious about your Jets.

Okay. When Aaron Glenn Is repeatedly saying how sloppy the offense looks, and Justin Fields didn't have a great night in the Snoopy Ball. I don't think they do that trophy anymore. They probably got rid of that after Mark Sanchez got reinserted into the game, right? They probably decided, let's not have anything at stake in this game, just in case.

You left out the relevant end of that sentence of the facts, Mike, and got hurt. Right, right, right. Yes. And got hurt. That's very relevant.

But what else intrigues you about them then? What do you got? Well, I mean, you know. The the week one schedule The eight games at one o'clock Eastern without question, Steelers Jets is the biggest one. Like, how is that not a standalone game in week one?

And I think Mike North, the schedule guru, said, if we had known for sure that Rogers was going to the Steelers, that would not have been a one o'clock Eastern game. That is huge. That is huge for the Steelers. And Rogers going back to Matlife Stadium and Justin Fields facing the team that he was the week one starter for last year. And we just assume that Aaron Glenn is going to go in there and flip a switch, and some of that Lions DNA is going to turn the Jets around.

And I like where the Jets are going. I just don't know how quickly it turns around.

So, some of his comments from that. preseason game both at halftime and afterward, it just makes me wonder How much Aaron Glenn and the new coaching staff can really do to get the Jets to dramatically improve right away. And a lot of it's going to depend on what Justin Fields is able to do. It's the first time ever, if Fields is the week one starter, and there's no reason to think he won't be, First time ever that two quarterbacks who started for a team week one one year were starting for the opposite team in the game where those two teams were playing each other the next year. No doubt it is big.

And the you know, we just saw some other ones too. I mean, Bucks, Falcons is pretty damn big. The Bengals and the Browns are now going to start. Joe Flacco is pretty big. I mean, there's some other great week one games.

And, you know, I guess when Ravens, Bills, and Chiefs, Chargers, and Cowboys, Eagles are the standalone games. That's that's how a Jet Steeler. match up the that piece of filet mignon winds up uh as a One o'clock Eastern banger. You know what I mean? It's going to be great.

And it's coming quickly. That's right. Isn't it amazing? We wait and we wait and we wait. And then all of a sudden, it's like, holy crap, it's here.

I know. It's so exciting.

So exciting. And I feel the same way about Big Shield. It's here. It's here. Well, it will be tomorrow.

Tomorrow. You can pre-order it right now, wherever you get your books, the e-book. Let's get those numbers up, people. But hey, but in this day and age, though, people want to have an actual book, paper, read it. Love that.

That's pretty cool. That's old stuff. I am going to send you a copy.

Okay. I'm going to sign it with this pen. Take the book. And it's going to say, add this book to the Paino Mind. No, stop it.

We'll put it on the desk. That's absurd, man. Send the pen, you know what I mean? Send the pen too. Take the pen.

Take the pen. Take the pen. It writes upside down. Oh, yeah, that's right.

Well, you know what? This one doesn't write at all because I had a meeting down here on Friday. I left the freaking cap off of the whole meeting. This pen will not be signing anything. Yeah, that's an off-season move, man.

Come on now. The season's here. Thanks again, Mike, for all your time, and we'll chat in February. Thanks again. Appreciate it.

All right, that's soon? Actually, we'll stop. Mike Floro here on the Rich His and Chair, everybody, from Pro Football Talk. Always fun. All right, let's take a break.

What do we do? Hey folks, let me tell you that drinking and driving is a decision that will change your whole world. Things will never be the same once you get a DUI because legal fees and time in court are just the beginning. Getting into a crash is another way your world could be irreversibly changed after drinking and driving. Your vehicle may not be the only thing it gets damaged in that crash.

You could face a life-altering injury or even death, but... You're not the only one who could face those consequences. Your decision to drink and drive could permanently change someone else's world, whether you injured them or leave their loved ones grieving. The next time you're out drinking, call a ride share, a taxi, a sober friend, or a designated sober driver. Always plan for a safe ride home.

The only decision that will change your world for the better. is the decision to call for a sober ride. it is never worth it to drive drunk. Don't risk it. Drive sober.

Jefferson of No Contest Wrestling on the Rich Eisen Podcast Network. O. Shay Jackson Jr., good to see you, O. Shay. Good to see you all.

Thank you. Great job hosting the program on Friday while I was unwalking. You called me. It was like 11:30 at night, and I had kids in the car and stuff like that. What were you calling me about when you were after the show?

Because, Rich, Shea, do good. And I needed to hear from you that Shay do good. Is that right? Yes. So you.

Do good? Shay do good. I'm a do-gooder.

Well, you did. You did. Good. Good. Shea booked good.

Shea booked good too.

Well, I mean, you booked great. You had, I wrote down here, Ice Cube. Yeah, that was a tough one. Why did you book him? What was the third person?

You know, he had the big three in Dallas. Yeah, so you were zooming in from Dallas. Yeah, yeah. He was, you know, gracious enough to bless us with his presence.

Okay. And you also had Marshawn Lynch in studio. Which was crazy.

Well, I could work. Hold on a second. Let's ask his opinion. Um He apparently thought I had a problem with him. Yeah, I didn't know where that came from.

Listen, he doesn't do interviews. I know that. No, but last time I saw him was in the Jetway post-Fanatics Fest, where you did no contest wrestling. Chris and I didn't. Over Reaction Monday, we're flying back on the same plane from New York to LA.

And we had a nice chat, Cooper and I, my son, and Marshawn Lynch. Very nice chat. Yeah, I have a lot of people. And so it's very good. We, so.

I think we sussed it out though.

Okay. And I'm wondering if you can confirm this.

Okay. Is that. Chris has slighted Marshon. Oh, as a Patriot fan here, okay. And He might think that The bald guys look alike.

I feel you. I feel you. Because honestly, I've said in the past, everyone's like, everyone assumes that he would have scored had Russ not thrown it. Because he would have.

Well, I point out factually that he got tackled on the play before.

So why are we assuming he just would have scored again? Yeah, Shante Hightower was on the defense. Hightower, didn't he grab him? Like he barely like. Hightower had a bummed shoulder.

He tackled Marshawn with one arm. Yeah. Can he do that two more times? That's right. Can you do that two more times?

I'm just saying. One of the great mysteries of sports. that now has a new mystery. Did Marshawn think I'm Chris Brock? Man, that's a tough shit.

Yeah, I don't know. I think that's good for me. I'll take it. I'd love to. I'm my own person.

That's right. And I don't need over 40 for charity. Your dumbass takes to splash mud on me. I mean, it's like a 15-year-old, a 10-year-old take. I don't know.

I love this. You realize, though, that they do splash on you regardless. I am aware of that. But speaking of Marshawn, he is. Apparently, a mentor of Ashton Genty's.

Yes. And well, when we pre-draft had Genty on the program, he talked about how Marshawn was like an idol of his. Yeah. And Man. What we saw Over the weekend from Ashton Genty.

Was first of all, we saw him in a he blew tinted first, right? Yeah, he got blown up, and he was kind of his arm was kind of hanging, and you're just like, oh, God, did he just separate a shoulder? And then the question was: How is he going to be able to make, you know, absorb contact? Yeah, a lot of the tweets were like, this ain't the Mountain West, bro.

Well, guess what? If you're concerned about absorbing contact, how about you create it? And it's not just anybody who we Trucked? It's Deodor Lenore of the 49ers who is no piker. Mm-hmm.

Man. I mean, the question about him is coming into the league is exactly what you're saying. It's not the Malcolm. Yeah, Malcolm. Yeah, Malcolm.

Not in Idaho anymore, kid. You know. Whatever. That said, I mean His stance, right? Everyone's talking about because he had the Jason stance because he looks like a serial killer, right?

And now they want him more and more of a traditional stance pre-snap. Ketchup Kelly getting kind of bent on.

So. Um, nobody's talking about that. If he doesn't do well, we're going to talk about, oh, why are they trying to change him with his stance? True. He does well.

It's just like, oh.

So he's still, the calls are still coming from within the house. And I just loved this this I loved the answer. Because he was asked if this was his moment where he arrived.

Okay. That's heavy.

Now, you could sit here.

Well, I mean, certainly if you were asking a rookie, right, you could be like, you know what? It's preseason. Let me see if I can do it in a regular season game. Instead, this was his answer. You said a few weeks ago you were looking forward to showing the teammates when I asked you about that first I'm here moment in the NFL.

Do you feel like you showed them that today? Was this that first moment? Yeah, it was definitely, definitely today, for sure. And you know, it takes time, you know, as a rookie, you know, to kind of, you know, gain that confidence. And, you know, I'm here, I have a ride, and you know, it's time to keep going and make plays for this team.

I love that guy. He's gonna be awesome. I love that guy. That that that's yeah, bro, that that's You know, your one yard touchdown, seven carries, thirty-three yards on here. That bro, that's a lot of confidence.

A lot of confidence. And Pete's going to use him. Yeah. Marshawn is very excited about Pete in that Raider locker room. Yeah.

Yeah. I mean, I could care less. Go, Rams, am I right? Oh, man. Maybe that's why your dad didn't show in person.

Hey, he knows. That was just a movie. It was just a movie, guys. I'm not a Raider fan.

Sorry, Newsflash.

Okay. But you want to know about your Rams? Yeah. Well, because your quarterback is walking around like Fred G. Sanford, it looks like.

The disrespect your first day back is crazy. What do you mean, first day back? Bro, I mean, for vacation? You know what? I think because we had a great Friday.

Great Friday. You might be the common denominator for the toxicity in here. Oh, no. Yeah, bro. And you just happen to be born in Michigan.

Got the little slap on the wrist. We didn't forget about that. What slap on the wrist? Michigan's got to pay tens of millions of dollars for some schmohawk who had some dumbass idea of let's get some people I've never met or people on NCC. It was his idea.

It was his idea. It was his idea. Yeah. It was his idea. That we put him up to it.

Yeah. He's in charge. Go scout. You know what? Excuse me.

Let's go home. Shut up. We went all day without talking about this. Woo! Excuse me.

Let's go. Yes. Yeah. I ask you, sir. Kill me.

All right.

Okay. Mr. Toxic Workplace. Toxic work environment. Whatever.

TWE Listen, good name for a podcast. Excuse me. Excuse me. If they had Michigan dead to rights, wouldn't they have vacated some wins? Wouldn't they have taken the title?

Listen. If they had them dead to rights. Good. Okay. Did they take away any wins?

Did they take a banner away from them? No, they stopped them on the ribs. They didn't slap him on the wrist. They took a bunch of money from them. Which is a lot.

Postseason money is a ton of money, man. And the 10% of their football buckets. That one donor can write a check for, and it's covered. Oh, and Rich Eisen, by the way. Big fan of Oral.

Big fan of Oil. That's not him. It's another guy within the last name that starts with the E and ends in an N with an listen in between. Yeah, so. Yeah, so this 10% nonsense.

By the way, fine. You want to call it a slap on the wrist? Great. Then that means that there wasn't that much going on. Yeah, so there's no argument, Rich.

You got a slap on a wrist.

Okay, fine. I'll take it. Uh-huh. I bet. I'll take it because if they, nobody, everybody keeps pointing out all these Ohio State people, all these folks.

If they were cheating. Yeah. There's no if. They were. When they were cheating.

That's great. Like the way that you say they were cheating. The way that everyone except Michigan people were losing at any point. To make it look good, to cover the tracks of somebody who's like so remarkably smart. I can count cards in a casino, but I'm not always going to hit blackjack.

Yep. So, what if you guys need counting cards? What was that? What does that mean? You agreed, quick.

It means you can cheat and not always win. I would have loved to have been in a rocking chair a lot sooner against Ohio State than these days when supposed to be. And by the way, oh, we ran plays that we'd never run before and they sniffed them out. Then how the hell do we have them? Bone chicken!

Listen, this guy Connor Stallions, I never want to hear his name again. I know I'm going to hear it for the rest of my days. Absolutely. I get it. That's from Back Aaron going to hear it.

I get it. Brockwood's got a tattooed. I was Reggie Bush would have paid some guy $20,000. The minute he started, like, oh, guess what? I'm reaching out to people that could talk about this in any way, shape, or like, it was like one of the worst run capers ever.

That worked! It how did it work? What do you mean? How did it work? It just got popped and everybody's gonna be thrown in their face?

How did it work? Seriously. I keep saying it over and over again.

Okay. How many times when you Have you ever asked somebody just out of the blue, would you mind taking a picture of me and my loved one or whatever?

Okay. How often does that photograph, when they hand it back, is the exact photograph that you're looking for? Or is it just like mostly the sky? It zoomed out. All of that stuff.

Yeah, it's not what you picked.

So every single time Connor Stallions bought a ticket for somebody, the video that came back was exactly what they wanted of the exact play that they knew exactly when to use. Every time. Fair point. Every time it was so well run, what a caper. Yeah.

That when it mattered most against Ohio State. Let's let them walk down their little field for 12 plays to start that game. Oh, but the one time that they ran a play that they didn't run. Let's conveniently point out, uh but forget. that they were down, uh, they were up 10-0.

Up ten seven Whatever. I'm never going to convince you. I'm never going to convince anybody. I'm on the camp, and Chris will tell you. I came in yesterday thinking, like, it's not real.

It's just frowned upon. It's not real. No, no. Michigan should never have done this. I never want to hear Connor Stallion's name again.

It is absolutely runs countered everything. And by the way, just to be fair and balanced, Ohio State should get their wins back for the tattoos. If Reggie Bush can get his Heisman trophy back, because we're in a different way. Yeah, I need to give back the wins and the championship trophy that they took away from him. They were great.

Trestle is a great coach, then give it to him. It's just different times now. Different times. And the playoffs, the Touhou Not an NCAA championship, so they can't really vacate those wins. If the NCAA did not like that Jim Harbaugh flipped his middle finger to them every single time that he could.

Well, he was a blatant rules violator. Every single time that he could, and on their last breath. of relevance before they disappear. Because the college football playoff folks are going to run the sport along with the executives. that run the sport.

On the television side of things, and the Big Ten's already talking about expanding the 20 and 24 teams for the college football players.

Well, that's outrageous. Their last dying breath, like Khan. On on on on a bridge in Star Trek. Carbozz! Carbon!

Spit your last breath! And I'm Spock trying to save the shit. I just went Star Trek II on everybody. Go blue, baby. What else is going on?

Oh yeah, Sean McVeigh. I missed you, Rich. Did you really? Because you keep me too sick about five minutes ago. Yeah, bro.

I mean, you're hot right now, man. Don't touch it. I'm well rested in 10. And I got to make sure I don't cramp up for Sports Center tonight. You got a lot of days.

I do. You got to relax. Hey, soak. Hydrate. Whatever.

I do. And you know what we'll do with we'll throw it a break. Because I think I just pulled something. That's right. Phone lines are lit.

Let's go. We'll take a phone call or two, and Sean McVay is speaking about. Matthew Stafford's back. That's O'ReillyAuto.com/slash Eisen. Let's go to Fitz in Dallas here on the Rich His show. What's up, Fitz? Right now. Yeah.

The Hank Kingsley of the Rich Island Show. I'm flattered that O'Shea Jackson Jr. is in the studio right now. He is indeed. He is indeed.

He is indeed. He's good off it.

Well, mister Jackson and everybody else, I don't know if anybody had a chance to watch the Dallas Cowboys game this weekend. But to um Just to let everybody know, the frustration in Dallas right now is palpable. And so, my question to all the guys, just your opinion, and then I'll drop off and listen.

Okay. Was. Is Based on the lack of offensive productivity that we've seen thus far. Does that light a fire under Jerry's rear end to get this deal done with Micah because we may have to depend on our defense to get us through the big season? What do you think?

Do you think Brian Schottenheimer is going to show any hand at all, taking on the Philadelphia Eagles? Like there's nothing. Like there's nothing. Listen, preseason is about a handful of things. Roster building, who's on your team, who's not.

Getting into the cadence of a game. Getting into the cadence of a game week. And being healthy. And getting the competitive juices flowing against somebody other than yourselves. That is what preseason football is about.

And if you're sitting here worried about the offense, the only thing that I am concerned about, the Cowboys' offense, is who's running a football? Is Javante Williams gonna be the guy or not? How's this kid from Texas going to do? The offensive line that's banged up, are they going to be able to keep Dak healthy enough, or are we going to see Joe Milton in the game? Like, these are the things about the Dallas Cowboys.

And then, at the end of the day, I appreciate the call, Fitz. The end of the day is: what are you going to do with Micah Parsons? I mean, we had Mike Florio on the last hour, and Mike was talking about how he just laid into the concept: Jerry's more concerned about the value of the franchise and how much they're being talked about than anything else. Yeah. And you hear all the time about, hey, You know, when Mike McCarthy was there, he was going to have some sort of practice at the star, but they couldn't because there was some sort of an event that Jerry had already rented the place out for.

and didn't even tell the coaching staff about it. Those are the things that drive you know teams players and coaching staffs nuts, but that's also part and parcel of what you get when you're working for the Dallas California. Whole idea of like they feel like they're in an aquarium, you know, when they're working out or they're What the the I've never been, but Where they're eating is behind a glass, right? And fans who are come through or the way to work is the word something like that. And it's just like, you know.

Having tourism is more important than winds. I don't buy it. Because I think at the end of the day, like we had Jerry on, you know, years ago for the last time there was something going on with the team on TV. I think it was their 50th anniversary or something like that. The NFL Network put together a retrospective.

And he basically said that, you know, I said, what would it mean for a fourth trophy? And he said that last time when they were going for the third, he spoke to God and said, if you give me this one, I'll never ask again. He's thinking of redoing that deal, is what Jerry said, which was great and funny, but I do believe it. That said, if there is something that's true about it, I would rather be talked about and be non-stop talked about. Because you're winning and kicking everyone's ass.

That's the most important thing. Mm-hmm. Last year, so we talked it was Chiefs fatigue, right? Everyone's sick and tired of him.

Now that may have to do with state farm commercials, right? Mm-hmm. Fumble Ruski.

So off-the-field stuff, yeah. Oh, fine, but people are sitting tired of the Chiefs winning. Same thing with the Warriors. You remember that with the Lakers? No, no, no, no.

I never got tired of it. But you have. But I think you get my point here, right? Do you really think the Cowboys care more about being talked about than winning? Yes.

Yes. TJ Jefferson, you're the one who matters the most. Do you not pay attention to anything I say right here? I'm now asking you direct questions. What is this?

2025? I've been saying this since 2020. Do you really believe it? The proof is in the pudding. Look, we're the number.

They're the number one, most expensive, most valuable asset in all of sports. To me, that's what matters the most.

Now, you would assume that maybe if you were actually winning games, it would bump up that evaluation, but it doesn't seem to matter. It seems like we are a clown show and we love, we're the circus. Any negative thing someone can say about us is probably applicable. I would rather be talked about as like, boy, you're winning again. Like the Patriots all those years, the Chiefs.

Like the Eagles might be talked about throughout this entire year. I mean, they did go 12 and 5 three years in a row, not that long ago. But, you know, it's the off-the-field stuff. It's the contract stuff. And it's just one distraction after another.

It's the waiting to sign people that the rest of the free world knows you're going to sign. Yeah, I mean, making them go through it. In the barrel, time in the barrel. We can't go an offseason and not have any drama. We can't go an offseason and not have any headlines.

I would have loved to have like not heard anything about Dallas this whole offseason. But that's never going to happen. Between the media always Talking about them and then Jerry doing stuff that makes you scratch your head, which gives people the reason to talk about you. I've got a lot of that good. Yeah, we're not, we're not serious franchises like that.

You are a serious franchises, and I'm locked in for life, man, because I can't get away. You can't quit, man. Jerry Jones looked me in my eyes and shook my hand and said, I can't thank you for being a fan of the Dallas Cowboys. What am I supposed to do? It's okay.

Oh. That's what I teased you. They're more entertainers. Hey, in the two minutes we have left. It's called Paying Off What We've Teased.

Yes. Sean McVay on Do we want to play the sound mic first, or do we want to show the video from today? What are you? Mike Hoskins, I'll give you the choice. All right, let's go to the video.

This is Matthew Stafford working out today. All right.

Little turn, little play fake. Oh, this is nothing. This is nothing. He's not. Come on, he's not doing anything.

No, he's not showing anything. All right, there he is, rolling out. Against the grain of human rights. How's the John? Yeah.

That's 10 minutes. Oh, no, we have him video walking out. Let's see him walking out. Oh, we don't have time.

Okay. Here's Sean McVay on the whole concept. It was good to be able to have Matthew out there. He did a good job today. I thought he looked good, but I don't really have any updates.

I think there was a lot of intended information, but there's no updates. We're going to keep it a day and really a week at a time. But it was great to be able to see him out there today. We'll see how this afternoon goes and tomorrow. Week at a time.

That's it. It's a back. Those are fickle beasts. We've got less than three weeks until we're playing a game. I know.

It's three weeks.

Okay. How long does it take for an epidural to kick in? I know what it is in terms of giving birth. Not that I've done that, but I just know. Sue's for our firstborn was just like in dire pain, epidural hits.

She's doing Crossword puzzles.

Your decision to drink and drive could permanently change someone else's world, whether you injure them or leave their loved ones grieving.
