Welcome to another Monday episode. Of the No Contest Wrestling Podcast. I am the heel that you love to hate, O'Shea Jackson Jr., aka Petty Guerrero. Hey, yo, it's me, it's me, it's the T-Dou O. J I double G.
2J G, TJ Jefferson. The shout for the locks. for giving me that jiggy nickname. That's where it came from in case you were ever wondering. You don't have to flex on me on Mondays like this, bro.
I mean, like, okay, we get it. He's like one of the most interesting men in the world. People don't know this about him. But you will learn that the more you watch the No Contest Wrestling Podcast. TJ's a lot of wrestling.
Man, we love it. Bro, it was a lot of wrestling. I'm saying a lot of stuff happened. Yeah, it's been all over the place. People are stressed out.
I know I am. I found a white hair this morning. Oh, hurt. Not really excited about that. Oh, it comes with age and wisdom.
You know what I'm saying? That's the second time. That's exactly right, man. You getting at me. But, you know, it's been a crazy while.
We don't have a guest this week.
So we're just going to be talking to you. We're going to be talking to you. We're going to be reviewing a few things. Obviously, it's the road to WrestleMania. Yeah, what a building.
So, you know, we got to talk about that Raw. We got to talk about that SmackDown, man. And also, you know, we got some other stuff. You know, you and I, we were lucky enough to go to MLW, Major League Wrestling this weekend down in Long Beach. It was Battle Riot 7.
Had a great time down there. We were treated amazingly by everybody with MLW. And we'll get to that a little bit later. And, you know, just SmackDown Raw, like you said, AEW pay-per-view last night. Just last night.
We're going to touch on that.
So, you know, all things wrestling, buckle up, take the ride with us, you know, grab a drink. Yeah. Refreshment, you know, grab some food, put something in the air, whatever you do, because I hear that's what people do when they listen to those. They put something in the air. I don't even know what that means.
Yeah, I don't, I don't know. But that's what people say they do.
So if that's what you do, do that. And uh, Take this ride with us today. No contest, dude.
So let's all see. I mean, we're running the show today. What? What should we start with, man? That l what you got over there in the cards.
How about SmackDown? Yeah, yeah. Because Talk to me. SmackDown. There was some stuff that went on on SmackDown.
Very aggressive things. Yeah, very aggressive. Come below, low. We had a lot. You know, we unfortunately got the news that KO Kevin Owens apparently is out with a neck injury.
I don't think it's a work. As far as I can tell, it's a real deal thing. He does have a neck issue. He does need surgery. I saw a report that he could be out for two years.
These are the things that you hope maybe aren't true. But when you're dealing with a neck, it kind of seems like that might be the right amount of time. to to stay out.
So, you know, sending best wishes out to Kevin Owens, one of the greatest Uh, wrestlers in the world today, and you just hate to see that happen, yeah. And you know, he I saw him speak on a um On a podcast. And my apologies for not knowing the title off the top of my head. We see so much, it's hard to keep it up. But shouts out to you for breaking this news.
Mm-mm-mm. it really hurt his feelings that, you know, the dirt sheets kinda let the internet know about his injury before he could, you know, before he could let the fans know where he is with his own medical history. For it to be out and gossiped upon bugged him. And as a wrestling fan, One is a wrestling fan, and on the other side is as somebody who's trying to get their own show to pop off. I do miss the days where I was surprised.
I do miss the times where I didn't have whispers of things possibly going down just for them to be. confirmed and me waiting for it to happen. But I do understand that Um You know, people are trying to run a business. People got their things that they're trying to get off the ground. We live in a time where being first with the news is really what's important to people.
It's not about being right. Yeah, just being first sometimes. And in this situation, yes, they were right, but I. personally And, you know, I'm sure somebody somewhere is telling me to kiss their ass. But like there has to be some sort of etiquette when it comes to the medical stuff.
Yeah. And, you know, if everybody plays with those rules, then we'd all be okay. But, you know, you can't, you can't rely on people. Yeah, there are HIPAA rules. You can't discuss somebody's, you know, medical history, right?
But the thing is, I didn't, I'm one of the people I didn't know.
So it was a complete shock and a surprise to me.
So, but I can understand, you know, that, how that would. Kind of affect you because mentally it's already got to be crushing, right? Yeah, to know the one thing that you love, not the one thing, obviously, but the thing you love is going to be taken away from you, and there's just nothing you can do about it.
So, I you could see right off the bat, at least I thought, all right, this is this is not a work, this is a shoot. He, he's a good actor, he's not that good, yeah, like and the. Disappointment just from his body language and his face. And if this turns out to be a work, then you know, give him the Emmy. Yeah.
Because I'm totally buying it. And, you know, I. I'm wishing him the best. He didn't milk the moment. Yeah, he It felt kind of rushed.
It felt like he didn't want to do it. It felt like he didn't want to be in the ring talking about this. Let me just say what I have to say and get out of here. You know, the pace of it. Felt like somebody disappointed and frustrated and hurt, yeah.
And then, you know, because you're missing mania, yeah, and and getting to work with Randy, you know, and walking to the ramp. Um, you know, a fan says something slick when Kevin Owens is his most vulnerable and on, don't get your ass whooped, y'all. Right? All right, when he's like, I'm the heel that you love to hate. I love a good heckle, you know.
Uh, Lord knows I've given it to many a WWE ref because I know they can't do shit anyway.
So it's just like, do your job, ref. Like, what do you want him to do? But. When it's a situation like that. And it's somebody telling you that they don't know if their dream is over.
Maybe don't take that time to try to kick him on his way out the door. Right. Or you might get your ass whooped. I mean, it's up to you. I mean, if that's what you're looking to happen, if you just went out the house and was like, man, man, I need to ask.
Man, I would love to just get throttled. Yeah, man. What is my problem?
So. You know, big ups to Kevin Owens for everything that you've done to entertain us, and we hope to see you back soon. No doubt, man. And then, you know, so right after that, he's getting ready to leave. Here comes Randall Kay.
He comes to the ring. They have like this little moment on the apron. Randy said something. KO jumps down. He walks back, has the interaction with the fan.
And then Randy's in the ring. He's looking very disappointed because, again, it's WrestleMania. And who knows? How many manners we got? Randy probably is looking like he's got far fewer ahead of him than he has behind him, and I don't think there's any disrespect.
To say that, the man's been in the game two, you know, two decades. And then Nick Aldis has to unfortunately. Tell Randy Orton that WrestleMania looks like it's not going to happen, which, of course, you can always see the writing on that wall. you're gonna get dropped. And so Nick Aldis gets RKO'd, Randy walks out, which to me, I feel is a perfect way.
To introduce Nick Aldiss is not the GM. But is Nick Aldis the the f former, and I guess, and still, he never retired, so still current wrestler. Former NWA world champion, former TNA star. If you look at the man in the suit, I think it's still obvious. He's still.
Pretty jacked. I saw him at WrestleMania last year in Philly. I'm 6'3. I looked up at him.
So all this has to be 6'4, you know, maybe 6'5. Maybe this is the time that, you know, I always thought we might get. All this again, you know, for control of something against Adam. Yeah. Pierce, because they're both former NWA World Champions, at the WWE Universe, for the most part, isn't familiar with them as wrestlers.
I always thought that maybe it would be cool to get those two, but now maybe Nick Aldis gets a WrestleMania matchup. I wouldn't mind that. Yeah, or there's some other guys that have gotten signed recently that we know of. Miro. Yeah.
Um you know Rusev, I guess, as he's known in WWE Alec Malachi or Aleister Black. Yeah, he's back. You know, do one of those guys slip into this WrestleMania spot to be Randy's dance partner? It could be. We saw a guy this Saturday that I thought, man, it would be great to see him come back and maybe do something, Randy.
And we'll talk about that later. But you got a lot of prospects, but I think one thing's for certain: Randy Orton is going to be on the card for WrestleMania. I don't think you can leave him off at this point. Yeah, and you know, when it comes to those new signings, you know, that puts the. the company in a weird position of like, do Do I make Because I mean, we all were waiting for Randy's revenge at Mania.
Yeah. Like, that's what we all were waiting for. And so, when you bring in a guy that you just signed back, as a company, you have to ask yourself: do I want to start him off with a loss? Or, like, Do I want Randy to lose at Mania, especially with Backlash being in St. Louis?
The what the next month? Yeah. So, like. You know, it it just it they there's There's a bunch of questions being raised. Of course, as fans, we just have to sit and wait.
But speaking about that dude, we saw. This weekend. That would be hilarious. We'll get to that, but you know. Every day when we're on the road, people around us endanger themselves and others by using their phones while driving.
They think they're hiding it, but we've all seen them and know exactly who they are. For instance, there is the sneaker peeker. who darts their eyes between the road and their texts. There's also the got a ticketer. looking upset because they just got a ticket.
for using their phone while driving. And what about the fast scroller who can't drive five minutes without updating their social feeds? Or the nightlighter? who has that mysterious glow illuminating the inside of their car after dark. Do any of these sound familiar?
If they remind you of yourself or someone you know, Rethink your behavior before you find yourself becoming the fender-benderer. the veering off the rotor. Or worst of all, the driver who killed someone. Put the phone away or pay. Paid for by NHTSA.
Don't let the urge to sing along that catchy tune distract you from that truck drifting towards your lane or that lane-splitting biker creeping up beside you. Fortunately, every Hyundai offers advanced safety features that can alert you to potential dangers around you. And Hyundai has over 120 IIHS Top Safety Awards since 2006 because Hyundai is always working to ensure the road doesn't get you. Hyundai Vehicles have won over 120 IIHS Top Safety Awards from 2006 to 2024.
So there's that. And then, you know, we had the debut. Ray Phoenix. Is now a WWE animal, as he said in his promo. And you know, the thing is, Ray Phoenix and Penta, if you don't know, they are brothers.
And you couldn't do the presentation.
Well, the thing about them is Penta, their styles, despite the fact of them being both being luchadors, are pretty different. Penta's more of a ground-based. Guy, but When you watch Ray Phoenix, if you're not familiar, you're going to learn Ray Phoenix is a high flyer of the highest level. You know, you got a little bit of it when he got on the rope during his intro and kinda did like the The spin on the rope, and then but people just buckle up, get ready because what this man is able to provide you in terms of entertainment in that squared circle is going to be amazing. And if you haven't seen him, if you're not familiar, you are going to be a fan of Ray Phoenix before long because he's special.
He really is. Yeah, I learned about both Pinta and Ray Phoenix from AEW, you know, watching. AEW, there are certain people that Stick out. You know, there's certain people that just like you know when they're on. It's uh you see the stardom.
And Ray Phoenix and his debut look great. There was a couple of spots in there where I was like, bro, that could have ended bad. Yeah, Nathan Frazier, man. He's a trainee. He's a trainee of Seth Rollins.
The thing about Nathan Frazier is, he's a guy who. I would I'm not a wrestler.
So, I don't know if I can give this type of advice, but if I could, I've heard other wrestlers say this: just slow down, bro. Just a little bit. He moves at such a fast pace. And there's a few times where, like you said, there were a few moves that could have ended pretty bad because he's just so frenetic and he's so fast. And Nathan Fraser goes, goes, goes.
And I think it might be just better for him to slow down just a little bit. Because he's got talent. He's special, man. And at the same time, I feel like Perfect match to introduce Phoenix. At the same time, it's just that there were some points that, as a fan, I was just like, ooh.
You know, like that suicide dive, not only could you know, we like he could have hurt himself, but it looked like he landed straight on Ray's knee, right? And so, you know, just. Not being, you know, not being sticklers, but it was just moments where you wince a little bit. Because we weren't saying they get hurt, obviously. Yeah, yeah, but you, y'all did put on a great match.
You know, it shit was a banger. And perfect way to introduce Ray. Oh, great introduce Nathan to the people who aren't familiar with him. It never made sense to me, bro. Like, you're such a big fan of WWE and you don't watch NXT and you don't know.
That's always been a problem. I know I'm get steering off, but like ever since NXT started. Wrestlers would come up and the fans wouldn't know who they are. It's like, how would, like, why would you not want to like peep who's coming up next? That's just me, though.
Yeah, dude. My introduction to NXT was when the Undisputed Era was running that place. Alistair was king. Yeah. You know, and of course, we all know the story of what could have been with Velveteen Dream.
Oh, oh man, that dude had it, dude. That you know, that's it. That's gonna cause uh, you know, a little bit of a ruckus. But yeah, that was a dude who was set up perfectly. Had it, and of course, some things came out.
Whether they're true or not, I don't know. I don't, I don't know the deeds, I just know she's not there anymore. But the undisputed era was kind of the time I fell off a little bit with NXT. I was heavily involved in NXT from I'd say like 2010-11. Yeah, but then it was just like, all right.
Bro, when tomorrow, bro. I remember Tommaso with Goldie, bro. How he would hold that title. How many held a title like Charles Camp? Oh my God.
It meant everything. It was the most. Tommaso Ciampa makes a title, a championship, feel like it's important just simply by just the way he holds it. I don't want you taking this. Don't talk about it.
Don't even look at it. Yeah, man. Tommaso Champion. That was my NXT rant. But I gotta say, bro, I'll never, I'll never, like, there are certain things.
That with WWE, I'll just never forgive as a fan. I'll never forgive Triple H beating Booker T. I'll never forgive Brock squashing Kofi. I'll never forgive Asuka and Asuka and Shinsuke losing the same WrestleMania. And I'll never forgive them just introducing Tommaso, Johnny Gargano, and Alistair just in a ring.
That one just here they are. The call-ups, like they deserved more. Yeah, bro. And I just feel like the recovery from that was just. Not well.
But anyway. And we can spend time on another thing. We promote the NXT more than the CW does. All right. We know you come to no condescending, we're going to talk NXT, bro.
No doubt. But so, yeah, so we got Ray Phoenix. He did. Yeah, Ray Phoenix. Love the Brotherly logos, too.
Yeah, I mean, well, they want to separate them and maybe make their logos a little bit more different. Bro, when they, when they. Down the road, team up. And they get that super-looking logo that they're gonna form them both together. Yeah, bro, it's gonna work out.
But I think the problem right now is Penta. became such a hit. I don't think you can even think about making them a tag team again, right? Not for a while. They had to do those separate shows.
Yeah, like, you know, the Lucha Brothers. amazing tag team, but because the fans receive Pentus so well It's also probably made a little tougher for Ray because now Ray's got to like catch up, but he'll be able to do it. Yeah, I think.
So, yeah, man, just big ups. Ray Phoenix getting his shine, getting his debut. And then we got. A match at WrestleMania nouns because we knew it was coming. Naomi against Jade Cargill.
Yeah. And let me tell you something. This new Naomi. Bro, she's trying to get an Emmy. Brah.
She's trying to get an Emmy. I know, Sister Twin. Bravo, Sister Twin. Trend, I just bet on my words there, but Trend is whatever. It happens.
But, like, yeah, man, she's. amazing right now playing this hill role. And now her and Jade, you know, Jade came in, lumped her up a little, put a knot on her head. And one of the best things about their feud is it's playing out on TV, but also on Twitter. Like their Twitter exchanges are just, you know, they're going back and forth with one another.
They're talking trash. You know, they're elevating this feud. They're hitting everything: TV, social. I'm looking so forward to seeing this match. You know, Naomi was such a fan favorite, and everybody loves her.
And I feel like she's going to. Be kind of that tweener because 100% of the people ain't gonna boo Naomi. No, it's just not gonna happen. I know Barre Kutcher. Bear Kutcher ain't booing Naomi.
Yeah, no. You know what I mean? That's just Barrick Kutcher. Barry Barr, man. Barry booed Naomi.
So it's gonna be interesting to see, but I think so many of the fans love Naomi and just want to see her shine.
So it's gonna be interesting that reception. Who's the crowd going to get behind in that match? You know, I know I got no dog in the fight. I like them both. Right.
You know, because I remember being, you know, in Philadelphia in the freezing cold at WrestleMania, and I saw the Cocoa Butter Avengers form. I was there too. And now they're, you know, they're completely disbanded. I don't like that. Yeah, yeah.
I'm like, I don't like it. It hurt. It hurt. Well, we're going to let it fly. Cause we got a match at Mania.
We got two matches at Mania. But, yeah. To see Naomi go up against Jade. First of all, the not. The knot on the head, bro.
This is this is this is it's getting into scary territory, folks. But I love this new age of wrestling where it goes, it bleeds over to social media because it's like the promos don't stop. The promos are continuous. You know, we've seen uh uh A couple years back when Becky Charlotte and Rhonda were going at it. Um the rock Uh, uses social media to kind of keep his promos going and off.
This is the direction which I want you to be, yeah, right. The uncensored rock that we've been getting, and now I feel like this beef between Jane and Naomi has entered uh into that echelon of great social media beefs with wrestling. Yeah, so yeah, they know they got to put on a banger. Um, Naomi, season veteran, and all of this, um, she's definitely going to give us a show in the The WWE Universe is waiting to see Jay give us one of those great matches, you know, in her singles career.
So here we go. I'm with it. I'm ready. I'm punk, bro.
Now, I think let's take a little break right now because before we talk about the next thing we want to talk about, I want to share something with you from the March 28th episode of The Rich Eisen Show, the big show. We had CM Punk zoom in from London. And I got to having a pretty interesting exchange with CM Punk.
Now, mind you, you got into an exchange with CM Punk? Verbal exchange. Not even verbal. We got to chop it up.
Okay, Perry.
Okay, okay. Because I ain't trying to verbally go. And plus, he's real nice on the mic. Yeah, right. I got to chop it up with CM Punk as I always do on the Rich Eisen show when we have a wrestling guest.
And mind you, this happened the morning before SmackDown, so it was before. that triple threat. was officially announced as the main event.
So this is me. And by proxy you talking to CM Punk. And we're asking him about WrestleMania and the main event. And he had some very interesting things to say about the creation of the shield. And I figure you guys might like to check this out.
We had your buddy Seth Rollins here earlier. And, you know, I think one of the greatest things that we found out over the last, you know, two years is that you and Seth really, really, truly love each other. And that's so great to see in this day and age, you know, that the love that's shared between people. But in all seriousness, you know, you were. A big part of the shield, right?
Back in 2012 when they debuted, you know, they were supposed to be kind of your protectors and then their story went on, your story went on. After so much time, man, what's it gonna feel like for you to step into WrestleMania? With Rollins, with Roman Reigns, and hopefully that main event spot that you've earned. Mm-hmm. You know, many, many years ago, and it looks like this is now the time that you're going to get it.
What's that going to be? You know, I'll give a bit of an uncharacteristic answer. You know, I think everybody's always trying to. navigate like how do you deal with media Different from what we present on our television show. And in 2012, You know, I was a champ.
I was on this, at the time, was a historic run with the belt for 134 days. Uh obviously shattered by Roman Reigns. since I've been gone and What I needed was guys to work with. You know, like I was always looking towards the future. Yeah, there's the now, there's the me, and there's Sina.
But outside of that, I would look at the landscape and be like, what? Do we need to do to get money, talent in the position that I'm in now? How do I Bring guys up? How do we elevate superstars?
So, the idea of the shield. was that simple. I need guys to work with. For good or for bad, whether I like them, whether I hate them, whether I'm going to wind up having personal problems with them. I need talented individuals to work with, or I have nobody to work with in the future.
And lo and behold, Who am I working with at WrestleMania? You know so uh life's pretty funny the way things kind of work out um Mm-hmm. I just don't want those two guys to forget that they were picked for a reason. I brought them into this and. Yeah, WrestleMania get the chance to take them out.
Yeah. So, I don't believe you'd seen that. They'll never make me hate that drone.
So, that's the first time you've seen that, right? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Kind of explaining how the shield came together was. To initially protect him. And like he said, he wanted guys to make money with because that's what it's all about.
If you're a top guy, you got to help. elevate others beneath you or else Yeah, yeah, you don't want to be Hulk Hogan. You don't want to be Hulk Hogan. Yeah, I thought that was great. And then, like I said, later that day, it did become official.
He did sign the contract. You know, they had the segment with he, Roman, and Seth. And he thinks Roman He acknowledges the trouble. You acknowledge him. Forgetting that WrestleMania main event, but he also says, Paul, that's not the favorite.
Not the favor, yeah. All right, so that brings us to. Smack down. Where We're in Chicago. You know, Chicago's always going to be fire.
Yeah. Always, bro. Punk comes out and he's saying, Look, man, first of all, Punk on the mic, when he was doing his whole thing about I'm not supposed to be here. Yeah. I was born in the hospital across the street with the umbilical cord around my neck.
They had to revive me. I'm not supposed to be here. Like, that dude is just, you put one of these in front of him and you just get gold, man.
So then we have Paul come out. And he's basically like, yo, bro. By the way, that ladies and gentlemen, that hit my body. Ladies and gentlemen, dude, I was like, no, no, no, don't do this right now. Don't do this right now.
And of course, they tease it for the end of the show. Yeah, Paul's like, you locked in. But Paul was like, Could you just Tell me what His favorite, yeah, bro. Look, can we get this off our way back? He's Romans, man.
And he's in. Oh, did you say he's not here? Oh, he's okay, bet. Cool. He's not here.
All right. Well, you let me know when he's here. I'm going to tell you both face to face. Yeah. So then at the end of the show, we get the confrontation.
Yeah. We're CM Punk. announces that Due to something that happened about 12 years ago, which I posted on our Instagram, if you go to There's No Contest or No Contest Wrestling Podcast on Instagram, you can see the clip. There was a moment years ago where Paul Heyman told punk. I'm going to walk down that aisle with you when you headline WrestleMania.
I'm going to walk the aisle with you when you challenge for the WWE Championship. One thing I think people missed, those were two separate statements. He didn't say. WrestleMania while you're challenging, he goes. Walked out with you at WrestleMania, the main event, and then I'm going to walk the hour with so.
Does that mean this is going to go further than wrestle means? That's what it appears to be, right? Like, is that what you took from it? I mean, it definitely is two different statements made in that segment. And, bro, I got to tell you, man, this is one of the few times in wrestling where I'm torn, man.
I'm torn. I think the last time this happened to me. was UFC Uh my buddy. Max Holloway, who's my dog, blessed, was going against my favorite. Who was Justin Gaith G.
Oh, that was the fight, bro. That was the fight. I had to watch my friend knock my favorite out in the last 10 seconds of the match. And so, right now, you know, everybody knows that I am a Roman guy, dude. You know, that is my, your, our tribal chief.
The punk is my boy.
So, you know, it's a weird time, but it's definitely a juicy story, especially with the Paul Heyman element. Paul Heyman with tears in his eyes telling his tribal chief, no. No, who would have thunk it? Uh CM Punk. Not you.
Not the 16 grand in attendance, not the millions watching at home.
So it just adds a level of drama to the match, of stakes, because what does it mean moving forward? The fact that you did say no, whether Roman wins or not. You still said that.
So now that's another story that can go on for time. And then something that I want to point out because we. You know, we haven't gotten to obviously Bianca's in a triple threat as well. But what I'm noticing with both triple threats is. They're playing the hidden third wheel.
Kind of thing, like the triple threat for the women's is really feeling like Bianca and Rhea are constantly battling and kind of just the third wheel. And my girl Eo ain't no third wheel, yeah. And then with the segment and SmackDown, Roman and Punk are going at it, and you got you know, Seth in the corner just laughing his ass off, playing the third wheel.
So keep an eye on those third wheels, and it pisses me off that you said what you said on the no contest wrestling podcast about Paul teaming up with the third wheel. I don't like that. And if I see that, TJ, it is going to be issues on the no contest wrestling podcast because you put it in the universe. Look, then that should just make you feel right because I said something weeks ago and it turned out to be correct. I feel it's the only way to go.
It's too obvious. Like, he's already walking the aisle with punk, right? He's already been with Roman. Paul Heyman has a history of like getting guys to a certain level and then Letting them go. Brock Lesnar.
to the big show, the Kurt Angle. Yeah. You know, he's already, you know, turned on punk once before. Kind of, I won't say turned on Roman, but he told your tribal chief, no. You don't tell the tribal chiefs, no.
You don't tell the tribal chief, no.
So to me, wait, hold on real quick. Because Robin was like, Robin said. That's the favor. He loved me. Tell him no, Paul.
Tell him no. Let him off easy, right? I can't do that. I'm trying to cheat. And, like, you know, just to play in the cave world, Paul, you got to be like Roman, man.
You know how I feel about being a man of my word, and I gave this man my word. But no, you was like, No, I can't do that. Yeah, that would have been a better way. It was like, you know, you know, I'd never lied to you, and I've never lied to you. I can't be lie.
I gotta keep my word. I gotta keep my word. You have to understand that. But whatever, we'll see how they play it. We'll see how they play it.
By the way, I'm never going to question what Paul Hammond does on the mic. Whatever he says, cool. This is just us. spitballing if you will but yeah so you know we get to that point and now we know A lot of people were saying, too, like, what's the stakes of this match? The stakes are huge, people.
Yeah. Because this Paul Heyman chess piece going with. Either one of these three guys at the end of night one is going to affect the next probably year of WWE and beyond television.
So this is big, man. This is. This is a major moment. And I seriously just can't wait. And, like, I told you, we are one of the few podcasts we've been able to, within the last five months, we've interviewed all three.
Members of this main event, man, and that feels good. I'm putting a t-shirt together with. The three pictures of me with Punk, Roman, and Seth, I'm going to wear that to WrestleMania because I feel like I deserved it. You know, I earned that right because I had to put in the work to be able for us to interview these guys, man.
So I'm going to make a t-shirt of it. Makes sense. Let me get this camera, RJ. Let me get this camera. Y'all see that?
That's the third time he done flexed on me in the show. Do you see this shit that's happening right now? No, I said a flex. It's the third time. I don't ever wasn't there for the Seth.
It don't matter. But you notice I never say I, I say we. This is the third time. You know what I mean? Listen, folks, I said by proxy, we interviewed.
Are you using this type of vernacular around here? You think you know somebody, right? No, he's already see the gaslighting, right? He's like BitHelp. He thought he could come into Smart Tech, but now he knows that.
Oh, this is Jay Smart Tech that I run this. You use you using a lot of big words. I'm going to take it as a sign of disrespect. Watch your mouth. Watch your mouth.
And help us with the podcast. All right. So, that WrestleMania, and now what I think we have is we have a pretty decent idea of what that card's gonna look like. But before we get that, let's kick it back to Raw. Let's talk O'Reilly Auto Parts, people.

Ooh, baby, I like it roar.
So this is last week's Raw. Of course, you know, Ross coming on today. But some of the things we happened, we had the Cody, and you know, we touched about this a little bit last week because it was live as we were going on there.
So we talked about the Cody seeing a promo. There were some decent lines there. Right. You know, we had, you know, John Cena. Decent, you know, Cena talking about I build billionaires, playgrounds for billionaires and you take money from their kids.
Obviously, a swipe at Cody and TK. That was like, ooh, and then you have Cody going, you know, they made me the champion. You were made champion by one guy who's not here, and we can't say his name. I was like, oh my God. Oh, my God.
That was the crowd was just like, yo, right? You know, and then, and then, you know, you got Cody saying, You know, they never chanted at me that I can't wrestle. And that kind of set Cena. He was about to leave. He comes back in.
He gets crossroads for his efforts. I didn't like that he got crossroads. He didn't? No. I felt like he could have reversed it and then just backed out.
To leave him laying there, you know. Yeah, I didn't like that. But my thing is, O'Shea. What is Dwayne's part in all this? Where is he at?
What? I mean, obviously, they're in Europe, so maybe he's not going to fly over there. But the whole thing is, John sold his soul to the rock, but we don't exactly know why. It feels like from John's explanation. And if you notice, like his promos are amped up every week.
Like, he started off kind of flat the first one, now it's amping up. It kind of feels like all this could have been done without him selling, quote unquote, selling his soul. But now I need to know like What's Rock's part in this? And and that confuses me because they were in London last week. And if You know, I could be mistaken.
People on Twitter are scumbags, so I, you know, I could be seeing something that wasn't real. But somebody posted the rock landing in London, so I was really waiting to see. You know, him pop out possibly. And, you know, people still have the theory about. Him that one, two, three.
And then, you know, when he did the throat slit, he held up the number two.
Someone else was there.
So, like, something's gotta be. Because that wasn't accidentally. Wait, wait, wait, wait.
Something's gotta be. Cook it. Come on, TJ, with like... Like, do you smell? But the rock is cooking.
No, we need to know what's going on. I don't smell nothing. I don't got a whiff right now. And we need to see what's happening. But I trust him.
He always says. What else I'm going to do? Trust the rock and then settle him for the ride.
So I'm not going to be one of these people. You got these guys who do podcasts. They just want to come on and yell and scream and complain about everything. I want to make sure that was never us. No.
So we're not going to do that. I'm here for the ride. Take me on. I will yell and scream, though, but it's not complaining. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
You got it. I just got amped up energy. Just like Jada Parker and Stephanie Vacare heard us through the crowd at the Royal Rumble. I know for a fact they heard this because I asked them and they said yes.
So I mean, and I know Oscar heard you. She wasn't even there. Oscar wasn't even there. All right. I'll give a shout out to Asuka always.
And also, Stephanie's cat, Oscar.
So let's talk about that real quick. We'll get to that. Breaking news. Let's get to that after we're done with this rock.
So we got the Cody John. We know that's going to be the main event at night two. Still wondering where the rock fits in. And obviously, right, we've been watching wrestling long enough. We know it's not just going to be the rock and see.
You've got to figure that there's probably going to be some type of corporate team coming. Who joins? I have a, can I throw another name out there?
Okay. Here's someone. Who if I was building a corporate team, right? And I wanted protection and I wanted to run things and I would just want to smash people. There is a certain Seven foot three inch Nigerian.
man out there who went and did a tour of Japan. To help his skills, and now he's back, and ain't nobody seeing him, and we don't know who he is, where he's at. If you're the rock, When you want to make Omos part of your corporation. Right. Well, I mean, that's not bad.
I just saw a post that say it's been a year since we like it's it's been the year anniversary since we even seen him around.
So that you know, you might be on something. And I know on Twitter all the They call themselves the Almost Sapien. The thing is, I kind of love it. That's a good idea. Because he's got a dope fan base.
Kind of hard. And people ride with him. And I do dig that. But I know they would be happy to see him, whatever they do at Almost Sapien parties. Just imagine him coming out.
He's in a suit. He's just playing the heavy. Yeah. As he was broke. That's a size.
And people always want to be like, oh, Omos can wrestle.
Well, what do you like? What do you want him to do? Do you want him to do Ray Phoenix? You want this fool to do a crossbody to kill somebody? He should never leave his feet.
He's a legitimate giant. He should just be. You're not going to get five-star matches out of seven-foot brothers. Like, you don't need that. I don't want to see him chain wrestling.
You know what move I would love for Omos to have in his repertoire, though? Can you imagine a jackhammer from that big muff? Yes. That would be awesome. If he did the jackhammer, I'd believe it.
Yeah, that person's knocked out. They're outcome completely. You jump at me all the way from up there. Come on, baby. We're just like, you know, jackknife powerball.
Dude, yeah, just like it was. Oh, my God. That would be the worst. This is with a jackhammer. He could kind of protect them, but like, man, that's got to be scary to be up there.
No doubt. So that's, you know, that's it. The Cena, Rhodes, Rock.
Someone else is going to be worked in there. We're sure. I'm excitedly waiting to see where this is taking me. You feel me? And then we got.
The biggest bully in the WWE. The ring and raw gunther. What a bully this man is. Dude. All right.
Right. Where's Walter? Because you're tripping. Go. The Ring Henna Rouse.
Henna. Henna Roual. Hennero is crazy. I mean, this guy, Gunter, he is, like I said, he's the biggest bully in WWE. And he's week after week, he told Jay, like, look, if you don't give this up, I'm just gonna basically smash you for.
Five, six weeks until we get the mania. And he's pretty much been a man of his word. And then you have big Jim, older brother by like eight minutes. Jimmy Uso trying to get Jay out of this funk because Jay is not believing that he can beat him. Like we said, we need to, I'ma get him, Jey Uso.
We need, you know, not the main event, not the yeet. We need to put that to the side because on that night, if you want to survive, you got to be that badass, I'm going to get you, Jey Uso. And so Jimmy's trying to get Jay. Just snap him out of it.
So he takes a match with Gunter. Decent match for a while. Then, of course. Gunther gets ahead over on him. Yeah.
Jay comes down, a little bit of a scuffle. Jay ends up zip-tied to the ropes, and then. Gunther just beats the brakes off Jimmy, bloodies him, bathes in his blood, just takes the man's blood and. Like some war thing, and tastes it and wipes it all over him all the while. Jay is sitting there screaming and he's Did you notice he called him John?
Yeah, that was a nice touch. He called him John. That was a beautiful touch right there. That's when you start blending. That's when you start blending.
And, dude, that was. It's those moments like that. Like third grade Shay would be on the schoolyard, like, and he called him John. It's his real name. It's real, bro.
Yeah. Like, dude, it really happened. That was a beautiful touch. And, you know, no contest wrestling exclusive. A text J.
I'll work. Text Jay, and I said, I said what we said: like, bro, you got to get it. You got to get it. His reply. Mother effing yeet.
Ye Mother effing yeet. He said the real thing, but like, that's a strong curse word. Yeah, we don't. We don't. I'm not trying to, you know.
Yeah, I mean, you're not above saying it on the mic. Go by. You know, we don't. Shit, motherfucker. See, that's not even necessary.
Hey, D'Lo, get rid of that. No, I'm just playing. Shout out to our boy D'Lo, our editor. But common sense kind of tells me this, right? People want to complain about common sense in wrestling, bro.
That's true. You can't really put those two together, but people want to complain about Jay. Is he a good wrestler or whatever? The thing about wrestling is, it's either you are. The best wrestler in the world, a la Adeem Malenko.
Mm. But the fans don't really F with you like that. Like, you don't, no matter how good you are, because Dean Malinka was. Quite possibly one of the greatest professional wrestlers, but he just didn't have the family. He didn't, maybe it was the personality.
He was the Iceman.
So, you have the wrestler like that who is a consummate pro, but maybe on the mic and other facets, they're lacking. Or you have the guy who is super. over with the fans. And maybe in the ring, they might not be as great as the best wrestler. But go-to moves.
But the fact of the matter is, the people. Yep. People who pay the money, the people who buy the merch, the people who make the noise. Are fully behind you, and that's where we're at. with Jay.
He is as over as you can be.
So I kind of feel like The way it's being set up, you would think if you didn't know any better that he's going to get run through. But man, having the crowd behind you just means so much. Yeah, dude. And it's like. When Kofi But Kofi had a group with him, so it was kind of different.
But, like, it is. The IWC is not real. It's just not like it's a thing. Like, yeah, you got your opinion, and you go and you spread your word, and then it starts to get in the algorithm. And now, even the bots are picking it up for them to start this.
It's not real, bro, because you see live and in living color the people's response to Jey Uso.
So, like, everybody who wants to get on a soapbox, especially the Those like us that have never been inside the square circle in the first place, telling somebody who's been giving this company over 15 years of work, giving their blood, sweat, and tear, breaks and tears, everything. His family, generations, all of that. As soon as you start to fix your little fingers or fix your lips to tell somebody in that position that they don't deserve what they're getting. Know your role and shut your mouth, bro. Just enjoy the ride.
And, like, I'm not anyone who claims to be some expert or anything like that. You don't like them. I don't care why. They like them. That's what's important.
And Lord knows if you were face to face with Jey Uso. And he said, Ye Yo, ass will yeet right back. Yeet.
So just watch TV and shut the hell up. And that has been a public service announcement brought to you by. No contest wrestling. And you do know that.
Sorry. We'll be right back. I like that. Yeah. You know, so it's like, you're right, man.
And like, when you're that over, very few times you catch lightning in the bottle. We caught it WrestleMania 30 with the yes movement with Daniel Bryan. We caught it with Kofi Mania. You know, every now and then you get that just a moment in time when it's your time. It's like the Goonies.
It's our time. It's our time up there. It's his time right now. The fans Are speaking it into existence, and I think it's gonna happen. I think he does walk out one of those two nights.
with that belt. But also, it wouldn't surprise me if he didn't. Like, I'm completely like, I don't know what's going to happen. Like, I'm not convinced. I'm honest with you.
I'm not fully convinced he's going to win.
So I mean, just think about how many people were convinced that Cody was going to win 39. Yeah, like, yeah. Yeah. I mean, I was one of them. And I was in the house and I saw, bro, let me tell you something.
Leaving SoFi that night after WrestleMania 39 when Roman beat Cody. The amount of disappointed people I saw as I loved it, I walked through the floor in that arena. I mean, there were people, I saw people. Tearing up, I saw videos later of guys in the upper deck absolutely losing their mind. because Cody didn't win.
You don't always have to go home happy at times. Love that WrestleMania so much. Number one, because. Los Angeles. Come on, Dad.
They didn't have to get a hotel. You'd have to take a flight. I'm from the crib. Bro, I live 15 minutes from SoFi, Jay. What we'd like to do.
And so, like, I just remember night one, I was like, listen. If the Usos win. Roman's gonna lose. Usos lost.
So I was like, all right, there's hope, there's hope, there's hope. Boy, when I seen Cody pull up with his family, I was like, oh man. And then he came, you know, they gave him the cool entrance. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I was like, boy, they setting us up, man.
And then he got to have this little moment with Liberty, his daughter. She's the cutest, by the way. Shout out to Libby.
So I'm like, bro, the writing's on the wall, bro. They're tired of my boy. But all I kept saying was, we got to get to a thousand days. We got to get to a thousand days. And I said that on this show because before we did this podcast, every year since I've been on the Rich, not this show, but the Rich Isand show, Rich has always been, you know, nice enough to give me Mike time.
Right before WrestleMania, where I would do matches I'm looking forward to, or anything the last few years of WrestleMania. And that was my whole thing. I'm like, they are not going to get someone this close to 1,000. And then have him lose. And even when Cody was on this show about two weeks before Mania.
And I literally sat there and said, look, bro, whether you win or lose, I'm. Still a fan. I remember Brockman after he goes, You really think he's going to lose? And I was like, Bro, I don't. Thank Brockman.
That's enough, bro. All right. Just because it was the thousand-day thing, and that was like the merch alone. Yeah, you can't get that close. Because it's not, you can't get somebody to a thousand days.
Yeah. You know, it takes. Three, four years. You got one shot to do this. I know you want that fingerprint of the new era in those record books.
And, you know, it was one of the best WrestleManias ever. One of my favorite main events of all time. We'll get on to that another day. But yeah, dude, I was very pleased with that. I remember seeing the children crying.
Love that for them. All the little neck tattoos. Oh, man. Yeah, I didn't give a damn about none of that, bro. I was in people's faces.
We are the ones, bro. We the ones, bro. I'm a Cody fan, and I'm also Roman fan. But when you're talking about my, you're our tribal chief. Come on, dog.
Recognize or step aside. That's what's up.
So. Here's something I just real brief want to touch on this. We had a tag team match. New Day, I love the new theme. New Catch Republic.
Tyler Bate came back. Pete Dunn. I've said this for years. If Tyler Bate was six feet tall, The big strong boy, he might be the best wrestler on the planet Earth. The fact is, he's only, I think, 5'7 ⁇, 5'8.
So I feel unfortunately that's going to hold him back, especially in the WWE land of giants. But. Tyler Bate, I'm, you know, if you don't know Tyler Bate, go back, look at some of the WWE UK, you know, he was the first UK champion. He is amazing. Dude is powerful, man.
And Pete Dunn. Pete Dunne. I don't know whose idea it was to make Pete Dunn, who was a savage in NXT. Yeah, the bruiser weight. into butch Like, why would you?
That was that goes back to what I said earlier about NXT. Like, if you got something that was working there, you bring it up to the main roster and you make Pete Dunn, who's snapping fingers, who's again not the biggest guy either, but still, you make building his teeth. Yeah, the whole the belt and his teeth.
So I just wanted to bring that up. The new day got the win. I I think it's kinda s I don't know if I like new catch losing. When Bates are making his return and they're in their home country. Yeah.
But it is what it is. You gotta give more heat to New Day because people still love the New Day.
So they're trying to add heat to the New Day.
So I will also say that the Street Prophets did not need to change their theme. Yeah, I'm not and also isn't it the dude that's rapping on solo socola's theme? Is it yeah, like it's the same voice? I think the problem with street profits, and this isn't a problem, that they're awesome. The problem with street profits is this: they're in that area, right, where they're not going to boo street profits like.
They tried to make them hills. People just didn't want to boo him. Yeah, and you know, and and and so They're not Be able to be heels, yeah. We love the street profits, ain't nobody trying to boom, yeah. And we're, I mean, we're all for a more aggressive street profits, yeah, we're all for a uh more business, less party street profits, but that doesn't necessarily mean you got to be a heel, yeah.
And people ain't gonna boom, we ain't booing Tez, we ain't booing Dawkins, like they're in that realm. And that must be tough because you remember episode one of No Contest, CM Punk was saying about some people want to be a cool heel, and you shouldn't. I don't think that they're trying to be cool hills. It's just like the people love you. Yeah, it's cool.
And we ain't booing Street Profits.
So they're in that weird. You might as well stop trying to make them hills because the fans love them too much. Yeah, the only thing I boo about Angelo Dawkins is that he's weirdly a Cincinnati Bengals fan. I couldn't imagine that. You know, they lost to the Rams in the Super Bowl.
Shout out to Dawkins. Dawkins is going to see this too, and he's probably going to have something to say to you. I'm not sure. I know Dawkins. I was saying Tez, like the Bears or something.
I'm not sure who Tez is. But, you know, I know we're known for the Prince of Bel Air, but Tez is the king of Bel Air.
So shout out to Tez always. And then you have, okay. Bengals son. We have the championship match. Eo versus Ria.
Yeah. With Bianca Belair and her custom-made referee outfit. Shout out to Montez again. And I think this match went like you kind of. Could figure out Bianca's a referee.
She don't want to be there. Yeah. And so a bump was gonna, something was gonna happen, and it did. She got bumped. She's like, F this, you're both disqualified.
Okay. Two things. Please, two things. Number two, we're going in reverse. Number two, you know, Bianca.
Sold that referee outfit an hour before day. That's how she does it. Like, you know, she's incredible. But number one, I love that she had the respect for herself as a referee, as a WWE official, to be like, nah, that's enough. Ring the bell, bro.
Yeah, I'm not dealing with this. Not to begin a match. Point, she's the official, bro, and she let y'all slide with one. But two? No, ring the bell.
Let's go home. Everybody, beat the traffic. I know, I'm sorry. But no, we're done here. I'm not dealing with this.
And I love that you would expect it from any other official. Do not boo Bianca when she's given that position, bro. No. Bianca Belair, you handled your business. As a WWE official, you did the right thing.
It was the right call. And anybody that's upset, get mad, get glad, get heavyweight trash bags. You know, complain to your mama, don't complain to us. On Twitter today, You know, because we're heavily into Twitter, WWE posted a video and it was Rhea Ripley, WWE, that's Rhea's Twitter, says she won't stop. until she's ruined Bianca Belair.
All because I clapped for EO. And I said, I... responded on behalf of us on no contest. I said, look. Rhea is 100% in the wrong here, and all of you that say otherwise are lying to yourselves.
Damn right. She's in the wrong. Like, Bianca came out, she won Elimination Chamber fair and square, so she gets a championship match. You have a championship match. You're going to wrestle one of these two people.
So, in the history of wrestling, most challengers will go get a better seat. to see what they have to go against. Bianca sat there. She cheered for you. She cheered for Rhea.
She stayed out of it. But Rhea, mentally, For some reason, she wasn't strong enough to handle the fact that maybe she has never beaten the old. That can be frustrating. Then you look out and you see Bianca there, and now you want to come out and take it out on Bianca. Brea just would have kept her head in the game.
In wrestled, maybe she beats E.O. I mean, I doubt it because she's never beaten her before, and that's But The fact is, this is Rhea's fault. And I'm not saying this to someone who doesn't like Rhea. I like Rhea. We have to look at this objectively and be like, you brought this upon yourself.
Yeah. And it's like, bro. I mean, like, I get it. You know, bulletin board, you know, like, you got to put stuff up to get yourself going, but you tripping. You need to tie your shoes.
You are tripping right now. And like I said, you're making EO, who's champion, be the third wheel right now. And you're losing focus again, which is what made you lose the title in the first place.
So we shall see. I know EO go put on a show. But that third wheel, that third wheel thing that I, you know, that keeps staying in my head makes me feel like. Unfortunately, we might see Bianca Belair's first loss at WrestleMania. I mean, that could be.
I'm also now wondering: are we going to get a triple threat? Are we going to get something like. Night one, there's a title match. The winner gets a title match night too. Because obviously, Rhea Ripley, I can't see them keeping her off a WrestleMania card.
She's too over the. And by the way, You European crowds, we, and I normally don't say I, I say we, so I can speak from. We don't like the way you were treating them boo and Bianca. I don't know. We don't say, but that's another story for another day.
But we, we eat. Boy, I don't like that. Hold on, man. I don't like that. Don't make it.
Hold on, dog. You know what I mean? Okay, man. It's Kendall Stick season, dog. Don't drop that shit.
It's that yellow cake. Don't drop it. Don't drop that shit. It's a triple threat. Maybe we get two matches, whatever.
Look, if I can see if I get to see EO twice, I'm happy. If I get to see Bianca twice, I'm happy. If I get to see Rio twice, I'm happy. I got a feeling, either way, I'm going to be happy unless one of the two that I like lose the most, and then I'm not going to be happy. But it is.
I'll tell you one thing: we're not seeing Stephanie Vacare twice no more. Yeah. She can do one episode of no contest to vacate her belt. But I also want to say: hashtag EST Gang, hashtag Bianca Mafia. We're not playing out here, all right?
And, like he said, if you don't think Rhea in the wrong, you're lying to yourself. You can lie to me. Yeah, you can lie to TJ. Yeah, don't lie to T. I can't lie to you.
That's my favorite saying. You can always lie to me. Don't lie to yourself. Don't lie to you.
So I hear that's also LeBron James' favorite saying. I didn't say inside Laker joke. LeBron James is just, you know. Anyway. It's my captain, bro.
So that's our recap of Ron SmackDown.
Now, you mentioned Stephanie Vacare. What a tremendous Response: We got with our interview for her. Shout out to Stephanie. She was amazing. A few things happened that were pretty incredible.
First of all, we kind of helped name that move. And it's now the devil's kiss, and it's been picked up socially, and it seems people are digging now, obviously. I had a list of names, and people were coming in the comments with names. And I've seen some really good ones, but here's the deal. Stephanie, English is her second language, right?
So I know this is how I felt. I didn't want to try to over-inundate her with a bunch of like American slang and, like, oh, this is what this means. It's like, it would have been too hard. Like, somebody was like, the Booker T's. And I'm like, that's really good.
But then you have to describe it to her. And then when she goes on the main roster, it might not be the same.
So when she offered up Devil's Kiss, I literally had Diablo's Kiss on my list. And I went, Devil's Kiss, I do like that. Looked at you, you liked it, and we said, Steph, do you like it? And she said, Yeah, so we had to make it official like a referee with a wrestle.
So that was amazing to get us out there with her because it's Stephanie McCarry. Hi, Stephanie. Yeah, you know, you say thank you to Jaden Parker. Yeah, but that's at the end of the show, though. Don't get ahead of yourself.
Bonjour, Stephanie, as we said. And then we also found out that Stephanie had a cat named Asca. Yeah. And I asked her, Does Asuka know? And she's like, No.
And I'm like, Well, this time tomorrow, she will. And sure as bleep.
Somebody beat us to the punch. Posting that video on Twitter right and Asuka saw it and she responded with a tweet that she's so honored and then she invited Stephanie to come play video games with her Stephanie accepted so I know is when there's a pay-per-view and Asuka is wrestling Stephanie Vacare which is gonna happen I feel like maybe these two just tremendous talents together like they didn't know each other and because of us they got brought together and I'm not saying I'm just saying yeah so shout out to Stephanie shout out to the go Asuka now Yeah. Let's talk about what we did this weekend. Because, y'all, we don't just be like coming to work and see each other and then not talk, bro. All right.
I had to tell him the other day: I ain't had a friend that I talked to every week like this for years. All right. It's always something to talk about. There's always something going down. You and I usually have like at least one phone call a week where we dive into.
Because, oh, Shane, let's be honest. We had a. You know, surface level understanding of one another. We met each other when I started on the show in 2018.
So, since we've been doing this pod, Spend a lot of time together.
So we're getting to know each other as we're doing this pod.
So our friendship and like knowledge of each other is growing as this pod is growing, which is pretty cool. And the more time we spend together, TJ, I just think they should have never gave us a show. They should have never. We are. And then I'm always pulling terrible.
I'm pulling out something. You're like, what? How? When you ask the devil's kiss question, like, I get that we talked about it. But then, when you, like, because I forgot that we even discussed that we were going to ask that.
And so, like, in my mind, I'm like, all right, about to wrap up the interview. That went well. And then you asked it, and I instantly got hot. I was just like, oh my God. Like, I just tried to melt in my chair.
She's looking at us and stuff. I asked the questions that the people, you the people. Every one of you know, I'm looking at you. You know, you wanted to know, was there a name for that move? Yes.
How are you going to ask? Exactly. I represent you. I'm a man of the people, for the people, by the people. I'm a voice of the voiceless.
I knew that you wanted that question answered.
So we took it upon ourselves to ask it. And now we know we got the devil's kiss. Devil's Kiss, bro. I volunteer as tribute.
So tell them about what we did this weekend. We went to MLW, Major League Wrestling. Major League Wrestling, you know, shout out everybody involved with that. They treated us well, treated us fantastic. Especially the dude in valet, bro.
What a guy. Man, what a guy. My guy.
So we pull up, you know, O'Shea and I, we drove there together. We met here at the studio. We drive down to Long Hill. Pulling up in Alexis King with the two-sweet license plate. And I, You know, two cars ahead of us.
A parking guy who's security puts up a sign and it says, RJ, are you still back there? It says. Parking, well, this is before, okay, so we're gonna get to the pictures. Basically, we were told there was no parking left. And then I pull up and I roll down O'Shea's window and he pops his head out.
And the guy's like, no, we don't have any parking. Oh, wait. You ice cubes kid? Oh! Come on in.
Absolutely. I am. It's pretty dope that, you know, we kind of used that card to get in. And, you know. The people who stopped us, look, I'm not stupid.
I get it. You the movie star. You're, you know, you're the one that they know for the most part. But the amount of people that stopped us to tell us how much they enjoyed the podcast was it was kind of humbling, man. It really was.
From the security, the people in the crowd to just getting stopped. everywhere we went throughout that show people coming up you must have taken like no lie 100 pictures yeah that night i even took i took about 15 myself and you know it it's really cool because that was the idea that we could bring a wrestling community together without all the bs without all the fighting let's just have fun and nerd out and geek out about wrestling and the response that we got were people really seeing that And I gotta say, man, thank you guys, because that was humbling. It truly was.
So, as wrestling fans, we've seen. Podcasts everywhere. We've seen people's shows and how they do it. And, you know, there's a bunch of things that. Obviously, we speak on that we don't agree with, but we do it in a way that we kind of.
We want a positive way, a positive platform. And everybody who, you know, showed love to us at Battle Riot 7. We really appreciate you guys. Anybody who obviously we couldn't get around to taking pictures with, you know, we apologize, but you know, we're running on time. And yeah, shout out to everybody involved.
You know, I actually. There is a Luchador that I am a fan of after seeing him at MLW. A gentleman by the name of Templario. Tempario, yes. Bro, this dude got it.
He is the main character. And you know, you got a fan in me, bro, wherever you are. My man, Paul Walter Hauser. Let's talk about Paul Walter Hauser. Boy, when I tell you, this dude is my spirit animal.
RJ, you can just go ahead and just start popping up some of those pictures if you want. They don't have to be labeled just to kind of show. You know, there we have a picture that was that was a tag team match earlier in the night. Um Yeah, man, this was this was great. It was Battle Riot 7.
Yeah. You know. And the beach, Long Beach. Long Beach. What else do we got?
Let's see, Picture Wise. You know, we had a a cool little women's match there. Yeah. What else you got, RJ? Then we got our guy, formerly known as Baron Corbin, now known as Bishop Dyer.
He was there. What's that? Tom Pestock, man. Tom Pestock. Yeah, you know, cool dude.
He was part of the show, and he seemingly might be in a tag team with Die Jack. Yeah. And which is big as hell. And I love that right off the bat, like a new skyscrapers. And I told them that, like, man, I love the idea as you as a tag team.
What else we got? We got any other? I think we got some more pictures. Yeah, I'll always be a fan of Pestock. And there's your guy right there.
My guy, too. You know, he's the main character, bro. He came out with main character energy syndrome, whatever you want to call it. That dude, no, he got it. And they're treating him as such.
But yeah, I'm a fan of that dude, bro. He brings it. He goes. Templario, you know, he had the long sword. And then we got Matt Riddle Riddle, our guy, you know, the MLW champion.
That's him standing tall after a 39. Was it 39? Yeah, 39 other competitors. My in Battle Royal, he was the last man standing. It was for his MLW World Championship.
Riddle went out there and he started. Survived. There was, you know, it looked like he wasn't going to be able to, you know, we had RVD come out at number 40. Number 40 came out in that battle royal, bro. Jinder Mahal, Hammerstone.
He was out there. Chris, the former Chris Masters, Chris Dawn. Laker fan. Laker fan. Laker fan, by the way.
Journey Fought 2, who is Jacob's little brother. We were like, how many of you are there? He's like, there's like 48. This bloodline ain't never going to end.
So if you're not a fan, you might as well start watching rugby or something because they're coming, you know. And then do you have to do that? Was I more, bro? Yeah, it might be a couple at rugby. You never know.
Oh, yeah. And so there we got Matt Riddle and O'Shea. That was, you know, they were, we were fortunate, you know, they invited us into the locker room, which, you know, you try to be respectful. Like, that's a big thing. I couldn't believe you let me hold the belt, bro.
That belt, that's one of the best championship belts out there, the one that Matt Riddle has. And then there's another picture, I believe, with the four of us. There you go. I put this on our Instagram and like name this faction. There's you and I, Bishop Dyer, Riddle, in the dressing room, just two cool cats who could legitimately.
You know, when you talk about bar fight crews, if you had those two on your side, you were making it out. Yeah. No one's mentioned Riddle on a bar fight crew yet for some odd reason. Yeah. Matt Riddles is real and is legitimate.
As it gets. Yeah. Professional ass beater. Yes. And then we have the actor, Paul Walter Hauser.
Yeah, man. From the jump show color. Man, from the jump, right off the bat, he gets in, he gets stabbed in the head with like a pair of wire cutters. Yeah, he's bleeding. He's first of all, this dude's an actor.
He's an Emmy Award-winning actor, right? He's, and he has fought, and I gotta give him props for that because he followed his love of pro wrestling to actually get into the ring. He's done many matches, and you know, he's he's. Doing elbow drops off of ladders through tables. I don't know if RJ's got those pictures, but man, just you got to give him it.
Him a shout out. Yeah, I'm gonna have those. Tip my cap to him. The dude goes. The dude goes.
He loves it. He breathes it. And, you know, there's just something about seeing somebody who don't have to do it. Do it right, like that's how I used to feel about Shane McMahon, bro. Like, Shane would be jumping off things and doing stuff where I'm just like, you do not need to go this hard, and you do it just for the love of the game.
And uh, yeah, shout out to my dude, bro, Paul, Paul Hauser. You are an inspiration, yeah, man. You're a genius, the American dream. I'm way too old to be trying that, but if I was younger, that would inspire me to try to go take a bump. But nah, man, my back will break, bro.
If they ever, if they ever, TJ, let me in there. The, the, I'm gonna go so hard, bro, because it's one thing to like do a celebrity spot. But if I could get a nod. From my people, from wrestling fans, I'll forever have that.
So, one day, man, one day. There you go. Absolutely. What else, man?
Well, you know, that kind of does our recap: Raw, SmackDown, MLW. And then last night, quickly, we AEW. Yeah. The pay-per-view die nasty. Dynasty, and uh, you know, we'll quickly go over that too.
You know, uh, we spoke about him earlier running NXT, Adam Cole. Bay Bay. The new TBS champion. That was not planned. We just did that.
That was weird. You know, defeats Daniel Garcia for the TBS title. What else do we have? TNT. TBS's ladies' mind.
By the way, shout out Brittany Caker for giving him a nice little tweet. She gave you a tweet? No, no, gave him a tweet, gave him the Daniel Garcia? No, no, Adam Cole. Oh, okay, big did not know that.
Now, I say TBS because that's Mercedes Monet, and she successfully defended her title against Julia Hart. And I was talking to you last night. Mercedes Monet Harley Cameron and Minnie Mercedes did a little vignette. And I'm telling you, man. I watch this thing.
Harley Cameron is hilarious, right? Funny lady. Funny, like, very talented. She has this Mercedes-Monet ventriloquist dummy. And at one point, she said something, and Mercedes just was like, Shut up, Minnie Monet.
I didn't tell you to talk. And it was at that moment I went, Yo, there's something having fun. She's having fun. Please, who's ever writing this, who's ever in is RJ City, whoever. Don't mess this up because there is something with those three or two and a half, however you want to look at it.
There's something there. You said three, you fool in the K-Favor. There's something I feel like we can get behind. Like Mercedes, Harley, and Minnie Monet, Minnie Mercedes. I'm here for it.
I hope they let them kind of cook a little. Let's see if we can get something out of that because that alone, I was highly entertained without even going to their match. Just that little vignette. You used to talk about vignettes, introducing us to people, just like giving us a reason to care. This gave me a reason to care.
And I'm looking forward to seeing where those, that trio, and I'm calling them a trio, can go from here, man. Absolutely. You know, a lot of people. You know, the IWC, after a while, they pick somebody who it then becomes the cool thing to kind of shit on. And bro, yo, yo, never make me hate Mercedes, bro.
Like, it just, it's too many memories of. You know, her obviously with WWE, where I I know what I saw, man. And her having fun was something good to see. And it's entertaining. And that's what I want from her.
Also, had a great match with Julia. Obviously, she got more titles than I've seen on one person ever in my life.
So, you know, they're keeping her as a star, but I wanna. And I love Timeless Tony Stormer. We'll talk about her, but. When we gonna see Mercedes go for that big one.
Well, the thing about them is they make that title very prestigious, right? They don't really. Seems it seems like a secondary title.
So even though it's not on the level of. The world title They've done enough work with that title to make it prestigious.
So I don't really see a problem with her. She's saying, I would love to see Mercedes with some, you know. And then we have, you know, our girl, Timeless Tony Storm, her and Megan Bain put on a banger. What a go. You know, Tony Storm is, you know, one of our favorites.
I can say that both of us. And Megan Bain, I think, is going to be next. She's looking like that title is going to be hers eventually, sometime soon.
So, bro, I might go as far as to say, as far as a character works, Timus Tony Storm might be my favorite female character ever. Character wise like It's entertaining every time. She's never, you know, out of pocket. Once she's locked into it, she's locked into it. You know, Robert Downey Jr.
in Tropic Thunder said, I'm not out of character until I do the DVD commentary. And that is Tony Storm. When that, you know, when that black and white hit, she's different. Yeah. And it's hilarious every time.
But as far as character, there's none better. None better, bro. She's doing the damn thing. I do want to say that spot, it wasn't a German suplex, but it was like a back suplex off the turnbuckle. It looked like Megan Bain almost.
Uh, landed on her head. I boy, when I say I clinched my shoulders together, but man, they put on quite the show. Megan Bain obviously looks like the god of war final boss that we know her to be. And uh, but you gotta, you know, Tony just got her belt back. I can't, I can't have not gonna happen right now.
No, so then you know, we had Kenny Omega, he retained his title over uh, you know, speedball, Mike Bailey, and Ricochet, which brought out Okada, which made me go to about time. Because if you don't know the history of Okada and Omega, you hit up the YouTube and you're gonna see some of the legitimately greatest professional wrestling matches that you will ever see. I think that's obviously coming down the road. Probably all in. We're probably going to see those two titles merged because I don't see a reason for the international and the continental.
So I feel like we're going to see those titles be merged. Could it possibly be the intercontinental? No. I don't think there's a trademark to that. You know, Bandito, he finally won the ROH world title, beat Jericho.
It was good to see. Didn't they have like that false finish had the internet about the burnout? And I love Chris Jericho, but after that first fall, I was like, The internet was about to go crazy. But then it happened. They restart the match.
Bandito got the win. And then, you know, in the main event, we saw Moxley defeat Swerve because. Don't know, stop, stop. Don't be that guy. I saw a video of this dude all butt hurt because the young bucks came back.
Listen, follow this story. Let's see where it takes you. You knew Swerve wasn't gonna. I just knew swear it was, it wouldn't make sense for him to lose the belt when he did than just to win it back. Because as much as I'm over this Death Riders thing, it's got to come to some more logical end than what we're getting.
So we'll see where it goes. The Young Bucks are back. I don't mind the Young Bucks. I know you probably have an issue, but again, like we've been preaching, just enjoy the ride. Let's just see where this takes us.
Listen, man. I'm just so tired, TJ. I'm just so tired. All right, well, let's hold that for next week. All right, bro.
But listen, you know, it's all. All love, man. What's something I do want to I d I do got to talk about, man. And what bothers me is that I am relatively, I mean, I don't think. I even have to say that.
I'm cool with both of these dudes, man. I'm cool with. Both swerve. And Booker T. And I am I'm confused, bro.
I am I'm really It's it's really heartbreaking. What's happening right now, this beef between Swerve and Booker T.
Now, I understand. Anybody who feels disrespect or or disrespect it. They are Completely in their right to respond how they feel. And I also know that I know everything that Booker T has done in wrestling, not only for. T, but what he has done for my people.
So it feels so heartbreaking. When you have this back and forth. And, you know, through on the outside looking in, I don't see how we even got here quite. You know, there are discussions that could have happened behind closed doors, and it's an ugly time right now. And I, I, you know, I.
Hopefully, I'll have a chance to speak to them both individually. I hit Mark Henry about it this morning because I don't know exactly how to even. Go about not bringing this up, but also once I bring it up, what conclusion to get to? I just know in my heart of hearts, I don't, I don't. I don't like it.
I hope it gets resolved. In a positive way, but right now. You get on you get in the middle of a wrestling ring and you Say F you to my name. I just don't know how that's gonna go, bag. Like I said, I'm cool with both of them.
I'm watching from afar, like everybody else. But um I would be remiss if I Didn't say that I don't fuck with the both of them beefing like this. And I hope we can get past this, but it's ugly right now. Um, shout out to, you know, Swerve, shout out to Booker T. My name is Bennett, and I ain't in it, but like, damn, what can I, as a wrestling fan, as a black man, how could I not?
Be upset about it. Yeah, you know, and uh, well, hopefully, this will get resolved. And you hate to see two guys beefing over it, but you know, look, that's life, such as is as it is, you know, and that's wrestling. But hey, listen, Vlad tried to get on the show.
So, like, if y'all want to come talk it out, we could do that episode. We ain't doing, we ain't doing it. If Booker and Swerve want to talk, come talk on no contest together, man. But, like, we got, we can't be dissing each other. Yeah, right.
But so, that's it. That's it for this week, man. We want to remind you: you can follow us on all of our socials. Tell them where to find us. There's no contest on Twitter, no contest wrestling podcast on Instagram.
All of the videos on the Rich Eisen Show YouTube page. Thank you guys for watching. Yeah, we appreciate you guys. We will see you next Monday. Did we say thank you to Jada Parker?
Bye, Miss Parker. Oh.
And what about the fast scroller who can't drive five minutes without updating their social feeds?
or the night lighter. who has that mysterious glow illuminating the inside of their car after dark. Do any of these sound familiar? If they remind you of yourself or someone you know, Rethink your behavior before you find yourself becoming the fender-benderer, the veering off the rotor. Or worst of all, the driver who killed someone.
Put the phone away or pay. Paid for by NHTSA. Okay.
