Jesus was one feels more like a losing battle for request. Welcome to the messenger a bit challenging. I don't know but working on working address a question that may be used for, with I know I and that the question is why is it so hard to be authentic or maybe why do you sometimes struggle with being honest and if you're like me you may have had the struggles well to be honest, we've got some really great clips read. I think you're going to enjoy as people struggle with these issues, but also there are some wonderful victory that we were doing a case study with two different people one just completely. I don't want two different ends of the spectrum of dishonesty that one would probably just shock you that you never thought about somebody who was dishonest or delete all in with all that, but you know, a few weeks ago, I missed the show because my mom is really really almost deathly ill, and perhaps deftly will in Illinois and so I missed the show today. Sam so we need to be praying for Sam's family. Sam's mom and I was he's down in Florida right now. It's a big struggle and so our thoughts and prayers were Sam, but since Sam is not here and now had to be in Manassas we have a very special guest in a dear friend, an old friend of the ministry Jim Graham with the bridge ministry there in Kernersville.
Welcome Jim, thank you very much could be here and so I was looking for somebody was dishonest.
I immediately call me yeah there you go.
No, we got Vincent that my friend Vinnie and we also have to check and we struggle sometimes guys don't we honestly only with with being honest and and let me just start off with the CI I usually know I'm I have no trouble telling the truth will out on me to tell Robbie start right off the bat that last weekend was Easter as you are well aware, and I was going to help fix this lamp for Easter dinner at my father's house and we just unpacked his stuff and they had a mortar and pestle to grind stuff up with that I was good to put these prices on the Lamb and I had that fresh basil and and and time and all the stuff and I was gonna mix up all the stuff to this mortar and stuff pestilent stuff and and a course I've load all the spices in there. My wife says did you arch that which my answer. Sure my kids will tell you almost everybody tell you when Robbie ends a sentence with the with the pitch of the were going up like that, that's generally a good remembrance of dishonesty and there was my poser at what point she says well you know Mema which was actually my father's mother-in-law used to mix up her medicine with and with that I turned over the is the pestilence of pistols. Yeah, and it was covered in white powder. My wife is looking over my shoulder and oh my, I was why did you live every what's up with that and so just to show that I'm in good company. In the movie here accepted, which is not a movie that I would recommend anybody see, but it's got a great example of lying and in this poor young man and struggle to get into any college in the world and every college is turning down stories not accepted. So he creates his own college Southhampton Institute of technology in and he he creates a phenomenal website to go with that to which you know he creates his mythical you know college to shows parents of these been accepted, will once he gets this going.
He doesn't realize is made the website so good that 300 other people apply to this website and unbeknownst to him there coming to his college which in order to keep the ruse going is rented. This what used to be in the same asylum and still be and still is, and looks like it was from the beginning of this movie but now the guy you know here is that all the students that are all crazy and he gets a call from his parents and and here's what happens is not the best time to talk you are going great really doesn't case you will die with plain crimes finally misunderstood two dozen eggs. It was making omelettes of their class classes I'm taking and want to go to college anywhere that says military jobs is also something secretive clicks and associations and brain scramble thing.
Now I can't member anything college you knew what my G.I. Bill will years in advance so there's like going on. You can see that he's in. He's in deep weeds. There he is fallen into. I've got to show my parents that I can do something to the point of the he's gotten himself weighing over said.
And you know yeah that's a little over-the-top, Vinnie. But if you're founder something return me yeah okay I don't know Holly that leading is going to follow my story about something that happened to me when I first got to get you another lead in but I Jim of okay we got another leading coming from your head, Jim. If you founder something that's almost the story of my early life. I was constantly doing things over-the-top to or excitement that sort of thing I would talk about the mortar and pestle reason I know that is 11 or 12 hours making explosives, but there there was never a time that anything that went wrong was my fault it was. The cat jumped on my pile of phosphorus that blew up until house with some toxic and it really is a matter of know we we do things and then we don't want to own up to the he's going to have his comeuppance as I did multiple times actually have two different sort of case studies we have. That's the beginning clipping when light in the second thing that what what what did you say his name was assigned a lead from the story. The name was Al Qaeda. Well, actually, my name is Jim short for James with his deceiver and supplant her well they I guess nobody got the joke. I can guide I got got munitions Al Qaeda okay I get down there. There is the beginning and after clipped to her friend there with Southhampton but there's also that another clip of this is your leading coming in Vinnie, but SOMETIMES YOU HAVE THIS BULLY THING GOING ON. SOMETIMES ANGER IS THE WAY THAT WE TEND TO NOT BE HONEST AND WE DON'T EVEN REALIZE PERHAPS WHAT'S BEHIND SOME OF THAT BUT THIS IS OUR OTHER CASE STUDY IS SOMEWHAT FAMOUS MOVIE STAR WARS, WHERE YOU KNOW IF YOU CAN TALK ABOUT SOMEBODY LIVING IN A DISHONEST LIFE. OFTEN, THEY WEAR A MASK AND FROM STAR WARS YOU MIGHT IMAGINE, THIS GUY HAD A MASK WILL BE ONE SO YOU CAN SEE THAT THERE ARE TWO SOMEBODY IS WEARING A MASK AND THAT MASK MAY SURPRISE YOU BECAUSE I DON'T THINK IN ANY WAY SHAPE OR FORM. IT NOT LUKE, BUT DARTH VADER KNEW THAT HE WAS IN FACT NOT BEING IS HIS TRUE SELF BUT VINNIE, THAT'S YOUR LEAD IN BUT YOU'RE NOT GETTING A CHANCE TO TELL US A LITTLE BIT ABOUT IT BUT THAT IN A WAY YOUR FATHER WAS GONNA DARTH VADER SURE WAS. IT'S AN EARLY STORY.
WHEN YOU FEEL YOUR FATHER FROM A YOUNG AGE. YOU NOTE TO THE POINT THAT CARE COMES A CALL TO BE DOING EVERYTHING RIGHT. YOU KNOW PEOPLE THAT MASK LACK WELL NOT REALLY, NOT REALLY. NOT ALL THE TIME. I WILL AS I GREW ALL RIGHT WORKING TO HEAR THAT DARTH MENINO STORY WE COME BACK FROM THIS HOW IT WAS THAT HIS FATHER FOUND OUT THAT HE HAD A MASK ON MIKE'S REALLY HEAR HOW THINGS WORK OUT FOR OUR YOUNG FRIEND IN COLLEGE AND ALSO HOW THEY WORK OUT FOR DARTH VADER BUT MAYBE IN DOING SO WILL FIGURE OUT HOW WE CAN GO TO JESUS AND GET HEALTHCARE TO Come UP PASSENGER RADIOS LIST ARE SUPPORTED VERY THANKFUL FOR EVERY DOLLAR BUT I WANTED TO TAKE A MOMENT TO SHARE REALLY EASY WAY TO SUPPORT ITS USE AMAZON TO PURCHASE THINGS YOU NEED TO DO SMILE.amazon.com as their charity contribution site from their slick good heart ministries and Amazon will donate 5% of your purchase, donate or watch a video on how to do this under the radio that's messenger the radio alert family here for messenger and radio show are so often focuses on healing and freedom found her walking more intimately with the father.

That's messenger the radio.org and if rawness that's what were talking easier said than done. My right and my right is simple enough but when you got a face the music. You know you gotta be like a symphony contractor you may not like it's a little bit scary thing like Al Qaeda, right, Vinnie.
That's right. Maybe you struggle here like like Austin and I love the way that song puts that so bring your brokenness and I'll bring mine and that's what's going to happen. Coming up August 28 through May 1.
We have a boot camp coming up this was it in your camp are very excited about it because they say the back of the lake.
Jim is for striped bass that have been there for over 10 years were talking big striped bass. We got some bass to catch but we also got a chance to close a little never met Alaska. Nonetheless, we do have that coming up in in the time alone with Jesus where we can be honest with him and some of the struggles that we have is is really what makes the boot camp was coming to. You can find out about it mask when journey.org and we can go on and register now but still early, early Bird pricing available is coming at the end of the month.
April 28 through May 1. We would love I would love to see you there and have so much fun Vinnie. We had left our hero young Vinnie with the Darth Vader dad and and but picking up the story with when he met your future wife. That's right. Maybe before I should set this up a little bit. Vinnie comes from a not so ordinary family from Sicily and it was in Manhattan New York in the 1930s and 40s should I say anything more than that made me understand a little bit about Vinnie's family that this father. There was a reason that he might've wore black some and there was reasons that he wrote around an X and all that but getting onto the store.
He also had a vocabulary of one word no.
Actually, all my family had that vocabulary no leave me alone now, so there wasn't that closeness but anyway I made it through it and I grew up to be a teenager with which was a miracle and I met this lady and I fell head over heels in love with but she was a divorce. She had two kids and she left home when she was 17 years old got married right right after the war, the second world war and the she was a fabulous lady fabulous woman now and knowing the Italian families. But you don't know it but I'll tell you they just, you know, I don't know how to say that they they wore black, but they were veiled in white know everything was how to be there way so he wouldn't accept me and my wife, my lady to be married because there was two children that you know that wasn't accepted and and then days and while that was 1950 so and anywhere. In any case, that was it. I told him to go to hack in matter to me, and for six years. We didn't talk, she had the dog data mask on all the time but then after that he got very sick and my wife in spite of being treated not horribly nuts being spoken to you fell in love with her as she took care of my father better than my sisters did and he actually said it one time when we visited him in a nursing home and told my three sisters that was standing there true story led the people you you people don't love me as much as she does. That's my real daughter. She takes care of me. She does everything Astro could get more more.
I done that but the that's a true story. He took off his mask and I never enjoyed. My father is much as from that day until the day he died. Mask was off the real John and so you know, look through his experience with his father in the next two episodes of Star Wars. He sensed and told his father all the way through that. I sense there's good yeah did you sense that your father.
I did even you knew there was something underneath there that was still good and so use your The relation.
Yes, I kept the relationship because I would bring the children that he wouldn't accept from my wife. You know what I mean.
They were mine. They were very very small one and two years old and he loved to play with them.
He would play with them. So here we have Luke finds out.
We finally get the mask off Darth Vader and and and guess what Luke was right.
Just you go now to see so Jim, you know, one of the things I love about boot camp at one of the things I learned is that we all are image bearers and we we bear the face of God. Under whatever masks that that that we have on them he's calling us out to be what it is that we were supposed to be at and you like me have had an experience of a number one having that happen in your own life, but watching men find their way into their glory and begin to take the mask off.
They didn't even know I Darth Vader had no clue he thought the Darkside was where the power was a popular as all get out, but near the end he he he saw what the truth was an and it's pretty cool when you see a guy in the ministry are currently and I bet you can think of somebody take about often watching somebody walking and I can but it hit me during that clip wrote it because he says help me take my mask off if you do you'll die and that's our goal is to take our mask off and die to self, but I may not.
We have very different backgrounds, but the ultimate goal is to strip off the mask and I do see a lot of that being in counseling and some most don't realize there weren't masks and don't even care to hear that concept. But when like one that became a close friend of mine who also happens to be a deceiver name James didn't even know for sure that he had a relationship with God and he had been posing for years in a big way he was probably should share a lot there but anyway it a lot of that stuff and he felt like he was not a child of God when he set that down, he became a totally different person now for every one of him, probably two or three that other people have to change. I'm not changing because this is who I am. My mask is attached solidly. It's an interesting thing. The fear that comes with can I be honest can I be honest with God, can I be honest with my wife. Can I be honest and lay some of these things down you know we have this other clip from the movie accepted this young man discover something in the midst of his prime, better word is whatever is what. But in the midst of his crime. He becomes a disciple. A disciple is somebody who loves to learn, but specifically about Christ that he's not learning about Christ. But listen to the enthusiasm that happens about learning with this young man so is that it is to gain you have a wonderful teacher for upwards of 300 students missed again answer the question answer questions you guys are in need of your minds. I'm an expert in rejection see on your faces to better judge us by the way we look, we are just because she wants to be more like them.
The truth is not like him and I am 100 years of tradition which is humiliating and different things so much pressure returns these distressed recent School means real colleges everywhere exist your grades and your rules were structuring ivory towers once curriculum is a joke and use our criminal creativity and passion when school administrators and was at your dream you want to be a magician or artist bees want to travel the world. I like I liked all of you sorry dad, especially desperation, something happened that was so amazing was full of possibilities. It is us as parents is there's hope for that young man. Or maybe you read that struggle working to take this topic more next time that we want to remind you, April 28 through May 2 we would love to join you get into that very thing of how can we take off the mask take it. Christ brings life has for us all. Thank you, Vinnie and Jim for being on with us again please again go to mass returning radio.org will see you next week
