All right, welcome to the jungle, a tremendous Thursday to you. My name is Jim Rome and the Jim Rome Show, as always, brought to you by FanDuel. All right, we got a big day today, lots to cover. Obviously, coming off last night and going through the rest of today, let me tell you about the program. We are wide, bleeping open until the middle of hour number two.
Plenty of time for you, Brewers fans, to get up in here. Are you still drunk? Are you hungover? both? Have you slept?
Are you still partying? I need somebody. In fact, lots of people with boots on the ground. I want to know what it feels like after all this time. Hit me up right now.
Telephone number is toll free 1-800-636-8686. Again, we are wide open until the middle of the program. I've got no problem with you taking over the program.
Now you can hit me up on social. I would encourage that. You can hit me up on chat. I would encourage that. But we have phone lines.

Terrell joins us. Top of our number three, beef segment. We do that every Thursday, so think about what you want to beef about. And then in and around that, I've got some other things too, but you know where to find me.
Start dialing 1-800-636-8686. I want to know how it feels. Adopted fam. Wisconsin, man, I'm so happy for you. Because I know you.
So, good news, chat.
Well, good news for Wisconsin. Actually, good news for you, chat. The World Series is over. Bad news for you, chat. You bet your ass I'm starting this show with baseball once again today.
Of course, the Brewers are going to get their bleeping credit. For real. For real. Because nobody's more deserving of their bleeping credit. For real.
For real. You can hate on baseball all you want. But if you have a problem with the Brewers, you have a problem with yourself. Because any and everybody should be able to appreciate this team and the way they finally got over. The way they finally got their hands on the commissioner's piece of metal.
Piece of metal. This is now the model organization in baseball. And yes, you heard me say it.
So-called Dodger Jim tipping his hat and saying that the Brewers are now the model organization in all of baseball. Because they are. There's absolutely nothing fluky about what they just pulled off. These Brewers are the opposite of a fluke. In fact, they're bleeping inevitable.
Inevitable. First of all, Milwaukee was the best team all year. Period. They had the best record in baseball. They set the franchise record for regular season wins.
They only got hotter and hotter as the season went on. I mean, not only did Milwaukee just rip through the postseason with 11 wins in 13 games, if you keep going back into the regular season, they just finished 40-14 over their last 54 games. I mean, they're not just an all-time example of dominance. They're an all-time example of sustained dominance. There's a very good reason for that, too.
Milwaukee can beat you in every way imaginable. They're not dependent on the long ball, so much so that none of the first six batters in their lineup even hit a home run in the World Series. Didn't even matter. None of their first six guys hit a home run, and it didn't even matter. Not only that, they're the very personification, the very definition of not dead, can't quit.
They always come back on you. They do so on everybody. They did it in nine of their 11 postseason games that they won. It's incredible. They won 11 of 13 overall in the postseason, but of the 11 they won, they were behind in nine.
How mind-blowing a stat is that?
So they're not out of any game, and they come back on everybody. And then when they do get that lead, they tend to not give it back because they've got a historically dominant bullpen. It had the second lowest ERA and opponent batting average of any bullpen in any postseason in Major League history. That any good. It's all backed up by an incredible front office that has spent years carefully constructing an absolute behemoth.
Shout out to that stud Gaucho, Matt Arnold, a.k.a. the Brewers president of baseball ops, and everybody else who put this roster together through a series of really impressive moves. Best example probably being the way they stole their World Series MVP, William Contreras, from the Braves for, like, a pack of baseballs, a pack of Big League Chew.
Now, I know this sounds a little bit like nice, nice, nice radio. But it's not nice radio. It's due credit. Nor am I giving it to my Adopt-A-Wisco fam because they're my Adopt-A-Wisco fam. It's just a team and an org that deserves it.
All of it. They fought through the Padres. They ended the Dodgers dynasty. Then they steamrolled a very good Rays team. Just an amazing baseball team and season and story.
But you don't have to take it from me. Take it from Tampa starter and ace Drew Rasmussen. Last night, he took the mound and actually did his job. Listen to the respect level that he has for this Brewers team. It's incredibly hard, man.
I mean, failure sucks. And to be this close, it's really, really hard. That's a really, I've said it a couple times to the guys in here, man. That's the best team I've played at the major league level. I think this is my sixth or seventh season, and it's the best team I've ever played against.
And that's a really good pitcher. Really good pitcher. Really high praise. And hard to argue with him. Except for that part about, man, it sucks to be this close.
They really weren't. Nobody was. It was Milwaukee and everybody else. Damn good baseball team. And the thing is, they've been a damn good baseball team for a minute.
And they're not going anywhere either. Jackson Churio, Cooper Pratt, only 22. The Miz and Logan Henderson, 24. Terang, Freelich, 26. It's a damn good core.
A young core right there. And, of course, they've got our guy Murph. Yo, how about Pat Murphy? Impossible not to love this dude. He pretty much pressed every right button the entire pre-postseason and could not have been a more perfect leader for this team and a more likable guy.
The dude is so likable that I think even a Yankee fan still probably likes him, even after he swerved way out of his way to crap all over the Yankees during the celebrations last night. Kind of hard to hear, but it's worth trying. Listen. If you're watching on the stream, you saw the graphics, but if you're listening on the radio, what he said was, it's kind of tough to hear, but I'm happy to repeat it verbatim. He said to Jake Bowers, quote, you're, because he's a free agent to be, quote, you're going to be a rich effer.
Just remember when you were on that horse bleep Yankee team and you guys were all playing for yourselves. Just remember this is the way we used to do it. End of quote. I love how crapping on the Yankees is just what you do now when you win the World Series. I mean, it's such a better tradition than that stupid, I'm going to Disney World for the Super Bowl MVP.
baseball has it figured out somebody on the winning team just needs to take a big dump all over the Yankees and then everybody wins well except for the Yankees I'm happy they never win I'm happy for Murph I'm happy for the entire organization I could not be happier for my adopted Wisco fam because that fan base deserved this World Series so much just as much as their team did. Find me another group of fans. Find me another state that reps like that. Who else would have invaded Tampa and taken over half that ballpark, drank up all the beer in the stadium and surrounding areas and bars? Who else could have sold out, sold out a watch party in their own stadium for every game and could have easily filled multiple watch party stadiums.
As I've been saying and saying and saying for years, when you all ask, why Rome? Why do you go to Wisconsin in the summertime? Why would you build a house there? Because there's nothing like the great state of Wisconsin.
So shout out to you, champs. My only regret is that I'm not up there with you, smashing spotted cows and enjoying the party with you. But you know I will be ready to roll with you all next summer because I know you all will still be celebrating this one come my annual visit in July I know you will This is for you If you watching on the stream look at that Listen, I don't suspect there will be a season. I suspect there will be a party. And that party's already started.
And that party probably will continue all the way through the season. There won't be next year. If you're watching on the stream, it's absolutely incredible. The stadium, the watch party. He's like sold out.
The tickets for the watch party were probably as expensive as the actual tickets to the World Series game. And nobody cared. Just partying. And I want to just state one more time for the record. What an incredible organization the Brewers are.
And what an incredible story. Top to bottom. Like, if you don't like or you can't appreciate or respect that team, that organization, that story, that fan base, man, then you're just bitter. You're just a hater. Your life did not turn out the way you had hoped.
That's what it comes down to. It's too good of a story. It's awesome. Absolutely awesome. Rays have nothing to be ashamed of.
Like the Dodgers have nothing to be ashamed of. Like the Padres have nothing to be ashamed of. The better team just ran right up through all of them. And frankly, the better organization.
So I want your thoughts on that. Brewers fans, if you're awake, if you're sober, if you want to get up in here, do it. 1-800-636-8686. Great, great story. An enormous trade in the NFL today.
Blockbuster trade in the NFL. on any other day. I lead with that. Chicago Bears take an enormous swing for Jeffrey Simmons. Two first rounders for this guy.
I would try to make the argument, in fact, I will make the argument, that unless you're a franchise quarterback, you're not worth two first rounders. No position player is worth two first rounders, yet the Bears did that.
So, is that a good move? Maybe. Maybe. Maybe. So we will get into all of that as well.
Looking for your reaction. Let me get a taste of it before I go to break. Rhino and Sacktown. Jimmy, the calendar has turned from Matt-tober to Fat-tober. Fat.
Good one, Rhino. Blaze in tux. Quote, If you're getting ready to celebrate the World Series, you're probably not Matt in L.A. or Matt Tober being in the ground. Matt Tober.
I just do this whole open about the Brewers and what a glorious winner it is. And what do you do with that? You turn it into Matt Tober. Why? How?
Why would you do that? It's such an amazing story. You pukes. 57 years in the making and in 57 seconds you turn all of that into a Matt Tober take? Matt Tober.
You pukes. Rick and Chico. Romy. Pat Murphy. Reminds me of Bruce Bochy.
Gruff but lovable. And both are champions. Congrats to Brewer Nation. Rick and Chico. Not really.
Like, a couple of old school guys to be sure. And great managers to be sure. and great leaders to be sure, but Merv's got just a different personality and vibe and energy, not only than Boach, but than anybody. My man's up there like just doing a stand-up, but he's a baseball dude through and through. And one of my favorite things about Pat Murphy, he got his start in 1982 and did not become a major league manager until 2023.
Like one of those Kurt Signetti kind of stories. except a much bigger personality than Sig. Murph's got a bigger personality than anybody. That's why he's the perfect manager for that team, that culture, that standard. The guy's awesome.
He wins, and he tells a former Yankee, a guy they got from the Yankees, who's a free agent to be, hey, man, that's how we do it. Not like those horse bleep Yankees. They played for themselves. Remember that as you're about to become a rich effer. In the meantime, he's dropping all the F-bombs, actually.
Hey, Jim, your Dodgers outspent my Brewers by $269 million. Ha ha. David V in GB. 30-year clone, tour stop three attendee. Bro, why are you trying to dunk on me?
I just rolled out here and gave you nothing but love. And said what a great organization you were and that you're the new standard. And you're dunking on me. Yo. Look at this guy.
Yo, Jim. Dodger Jim. I knew you would jump ship as soon as the Brewers won. Jump on the bandwagon, Jim. But this is like when Jordan took a nap and the Rockets got over.
Enjoy this one because the real Otani and Dodgers will be back. Signed, the evil empire. Miggy in the 818. What are we doing here?
So, I'm a bandwagon guy. I'm still Dodger Jim and you're piling on. I'm both these things. I'm all these things. Listen, Miggy.
The Dodgers are still a great organization. Got nothing but respect for them.
However, if you think that the Brewers, like I tried to make this point. This is not a one-off. I mean, the championship might be because it's really hard to win. But they're not a fluke. They're not some wild card team that got hot late and got on a heater.
If you know anything about baseball, MIG, and you've been paying attention, MIG, and you have an open mind, MIG, they've been doing this for years. Years. They've been banging on the door for years. They finally knocked that sucker in. This is a great organization.
It's been a great organization. This is nothing new. I mean, the win is. But they've been right there. Right there.
They do it the right way. What do we... it really gets frustrating for me sometimes to talk to those of you that are not paying attention to anything at all and have just kind of made up your mind about what you made up your mind about hey Dodger Jim way to jump bandwagon actually what quote Dodger Jim you mean objective Jim you mean talk show host Jim you mean intelligent Jim man I'm being objective I'm being fair. I am recognizing excellence when I see it. I'm not being a fanboy and talking out my ass and puking out my mouth.
Just made that up. I'm not being a fanboy talking out my ass and puking out my mouth. How do you watch what they've done and not respect that so much? I just spent 20 minutes talking about what they've done and why it's so respectable. Do better.
Do better, clones. Romy, high-fiving my 94-year-old neighbor this morning had me weeping like a little girl. What an amazing run we just had. Such grit.
Well done, boys. Mike in Southeast Wisco. That's another thing, man. Incredible grit. Great talent.
The intangibles are off the chart. They're tough as hell. They're never out of any game. They've got great grit. Incredible chemistry, too.
Man, they built that thing the right way. You can tell the guys in that locker room, clubhouse absolutely love each other. Love each other. And it's like 25 guys all picking each other up. You see Miz?
The Miz was crying in the interview afterwards. He was so moved by the whole thing. And man, you see how pissed he was when he had to come out? He did not want to come out at all. Just wanted to do his job.
And Billie Jean Webb, quote, I'm happy for Greg Council. What a joke and loser. That is a great angle, isn't it? It's so great. Hey, listen, they've let some big names go.
They've let talent go. They let Council go. Who cares, man? You got Pat Murphy. You actually improved upon, counsel.
Nobody better than Murph, man.
Well, I would say this, because I'm still a huge Dave Roberts guy. Nobody like Murph. Nobody like Murph. Murph is perfect. Perfect for that team.
Perfect for that town. Perfect for that state. David Hume, 8640. Jim Rome. Best three teams this year were Padres, Brewers, and Tampa Bay gives the MLBPA some argument during the offseason.
I mean, hello? The Brewers are arguably the smallest market. Milwaukee is arguably the smallest market in baseball. They want it all. Tampa Bay, one of the smaller markets in baseball.
Best team in the American League. Again, this is not what this is about. This goes back to what Ryan Spielberg said when he came on the program. He said the salary cap, and Spillie's kind of in between, because Spillie played, and now he's on the other side. He not on the other side but he on the other side of his playing days and works for a franchise among others He said but look let be real What is this about This isn about competitive balance per se.
How could it be when Milwaukee just won it all and they beat the Rays to do it? What it's about is the owners getting a salary cap to ensure their valuations of their franchises are even greater than they are right now because of a salary cap. The one major sport that does not have one. Anyway, anyway, let's put that aside for one minute. Let's not rain on their parade.
They won a World Series the first time ever. Absolutely incredible. And I love the way they did it. Mr. Rome, only fitting we hear a Decca Moo today.
Hit it. Congrats to the brew crew. All class. War curds and brats. Lyle in Pittsburgh.
There you go.
Somebody in Pittsburgh paying respect. I like it. Kevin W. 9252. If you're getting ready for work this morning, you're probably not a sober Brewers fan.
Agreed. You're either not sober or you're hungover. It's one or the other. And you're probably not getting ready for work this morning either way. After last night, you probably, I know how they get down.
I've spent enough time the last several years in Wisconsin to know how they get down, and that's before they won a World Series.
So either you're not sober or you're hungover, but either way, you're probably not getting ready for work this morning. All right, so there is your start. I do want to talk about the Jeffrey Simmons trade, which I will a little bit later on, but I want more on this. I want more reaction to this. Get on the phones, 1-800-636-8686.
Got a beep segment coming up a little bit later on. Hour number three, in fact. A.J. Terrell Jr. of the Atlanta Falcons, middle of hour number two.
But we're talking Brewers baseball, flat out. We are talking Brewers baseball in hour number one and what they accomplished and what went down last night. And if you were there, either at the Trop or in Milwaukee or you're a Brewers fan, I want to hear from you. A few years ago, there was a loss in our family. You're listening to the Jim Rome Show. I'm going to say it again. If you can't be happy about this or at least respect it, you got a problem with you. If you got a problem with the Brewers, you got a problem with you. I mean, if you really do love sports and you really do appreciate a great story, I mean, not only did the good dudes win, but the most deserving dudes won, but they're cool.
They're likable. The story's likable. The fans were absolutely amazing. I know them, and I still can't get over the fact that we had a watch party of a stadium that was full. A stadium that was packed for a watch party.
Not for the game, but for a watch party in the home state. And I guarantee they could have probably packed out two or three more stadiums. And would have. That was an amazing story. And not one of those like, oh, that's kind of a feel-good story.
Like an amazing story. And a great organization. Love to see it. Clones, one quick question. Why is Old Trapper beef jerky so good?
Actually, two questions. Why is Old Trapper beef jerky so good, and what are you going to beef about in hour number three? Keep both those things in mind. Why don't we start first with, there is something to be said for a family business which stands by quality and produces the world's finest beef jerky. Back to the other.
I know you have a beef. Had that beef locked and loaded for hour number three. And then don't be fooled by other brands, because not all beef jerky is the same. In fact, they're not the same. It's Old Trapper and then it's all the rest.
So make sure you choose Old Trapper where you can actually see the quality right through the iconic Clearview packages. Every bite of Old Trapper is tender. It's never tough because they use only the best ingredients. How do I know? I eat it pretty much every day.
It's all over our building by design. We make sure we never run out. We always have it. Four great flavors. If you haven't tried it, go get a 4-ounce bag of each.
Or if you know what you want, load it up with an 18-ounce bag. That way there's enough for everybody. If you don't see it, ask for Old Trapper by name. Because no other jerky compares Old Trapper with your beef. And remember, that segment is top of our number three.
One bitter reaction, then we go to the phones. Amber is in. Romy, I couldn't be happier for the Brew Crew. What an incredible season. Is it me?
or does Trevor McGill remind anyone else of Kenny Powers? I was waiting for him to yell, you're effing out from the bump.
So good. By the way, he probably did. He probably did. The only thing better than that is him looking very Wisco is he's from Long Beach. My man is right up the road from Long Beach.
Janet and I were having a conversation last night and Janet was saying, and she's all about it, all about Wisconsin. Jano, all about Wisconsin. And she was going on about McGill and like, wow, man, he's great. He's great. He's great.
He even looks like the fans and them in Wisconsin. I'm like, no, he doesn't. He looks like you. He looks like you and your peeps. He's from Long Beach.
This dude's awesome. He also, to Amber's point, he had a message for Chicago. Keep in mind, they hate each other. He had a message for Chicago. Check this.
What do you have to say to these fans that are literally on top of the dugout right now? Have fun talking s*** to Chicago next year. We have a ring. Bam. Did you see him also in the post-game interview on Fox?
They're bleeping him out the whole time. Dude's great. That entire bullpen is awesome. All right, let's go to the phones. I'm looking for some Brewer reaction.
Let's go to Milwaukee. Love it. Jeff in Milwaukee. Great to have you, Jeff. What's going on?
Rome. Unbelievable here. Listen, I've never called. I've heard your show 25 years. This is my first call.
So, Jim, I want to thank you for that cameo that you did last Friday for my old man. He's 79.
So, thank you so much, man. And you turned it around in like one hour? Incredible. But, look, I want to lay out and give everyone a rundown of our season, all right? We beat down the Cubs by 14 games.
Jim, 14. Craig Council, you left us to get access to more resources? How's that feel, weakling? Then, all right, we beat the Padres, Mason Miller, and Fatty Machado? Man, that's what's out.
All right, and then, you know we came up to L.A., and we took apart the Dodger Dynasty. and look um Shohei you got embarrassed I like you but let me tell you you ain't getting all that 700 million that you deferred I'm sorry uh they got issues and Matt in LA man I actually love you dude I love your calls but you've been awfully quiet in the last few weeks finally we went down to Milwaukee South, aka St. Pete, we took the only team that's cheaper than us all the way home. You guys can just, you can go cry on the beach. You can sit through more hurricanes or fail school.
I don't care. Look, we're the kings of MLB, all right? Put some respect on our city, our state, and stay down. This is our time. Jim, I'll see you at the parade.
I'm out. My man, I hope. I hope. Nice job, Jeff. Appreciate you.
Congrats. Tell Pops again, I said, what's up? He said, when he mentioned Cameo, Cameo is the app, right, where you can find me and other people on Cameo, and he got one for his Pops. And he goes, you turned it around. I did turn it around.
Had to. Wanted to. Happy to do so. I don't know that I'll be at the parade as much as I would love to be at that parade. Believe me, Tommy and I would love to be at the parade.
Tom was talking to me yesterday after the show about how he has never been actually in the state of Wisconsin proper. I'm like, bro, we're missing out. You're missing out. You have to.
So I would love to be at the parade, but I'm not going to sit here and say that I'll be there. But I will be there in the summer. You know that. And I know that party is going to continue on through. the winter, the spring, and into summer.
I know when I arrive in Eagle River this summer, you will still be celebrating this win.
So as much as I want to be there for the parade I will help you celebrate I will be there to celebrate in the summertime 1 And almost nothing that guy said was not accurate. It's all true. Went right through the Cubs. Went right through the Dodgers. Beat the Padres.
Good Padre team, by the way. And then right through the Rays, who are far and away the class of the American League. They won 11 of 13 games. And of those 11 games, as I mentioned, they trailed in nine. Like, it never mattered.
Not dead, can't quit.
So gritty, so resilient, so tough. They do everything well. They're elite at everything on and off the field. Organizationally, structurally, they're not going away. And by the way, they've been here.
It's not like they just showed up and, hey, they're not going away. They've been here for the last several years. If you didn't know that, you have not been paying attention. Back to, let's take a break. Getting caught up.
I'm getting caught up in the Brewer celebration. Call the show. Brewer fan, take over the show. If not now, then when? They, some of you have waited your entire lives for this.
Longer than your lives. Like that guy yesterday that we had video of, that was so out of his mind. He's like, I'm 44. It's longer than I've been alive. Way longer than you've been alive, my guy.
So if not today, then when? 1-800-636-8686. Your phone call is when we come back. You're listening to The Jim Rome Show. Major, major trade in the NFL.
Blockbuster, which I want to get to and I will, but I can't get there yet. Not when we're talking about the Brewers. not when the phone lines are jammed up with people from Wisco. Back to it in Wisconsin. Great state.
Paul and Wisco. Paul, great to have you on. Paul, how you doing? Wonderful. Just like Jeff in Milwaukee, 25 years, first time calling.
I want everybody to remember the Brewers had this awesome season, and they did it at the beginning with a banged-up team even. Churio was out. Yelich was out. yet they still had the most wins in franchise history. And I'm so happy that you in the jungle, that you respect Wisco so much, being an adopted home here.
You get up here, you get in my boat, I put you on a muskie. That's a guarantee. I'm out. All right, you got it, bro. I don't respect Wisco so much.
I respect and love Wisco so much. I think you would know by now. I can't tell you how much that state means to our family. We sent our son to the University of Wisconsin, Jake. He had the time of his life there.
I'll say it again. And I said to Janet and Jake when they were taking all their college tours, go to Madison. Go to Madison. The next badger I meet that says that it wasn't the best time of their entire life or it wasn't the greatest experience will be the first. please go to Madison.
They went to Madison and right away they're like, this is it. I mean, Janet says things like, other than San Diego, or maybe including San Diego, Madison is my favorite town in America. That's how much Janet loves Wisconsin. And I do too. And you know the way I talk about Eagle River and then the Brewers.
As an example, Robin Yount was coming up quite a bit last night. You know, Robin Yount played high school baseball at Taft. Taft is one block away. One block away from the In-N-Out Burger where I got my first job. Robin Yount.
Yo, 818 for life. Right, Robin?
So, I mean, he was always a legend. In fact, at 18, drafted by the Brewers and Hall of Famer. But Taft High School, right there on that corner. I mean, walking distance to the in and out. My man Kelly Call made an incredible documentary about the Brewers.
There's just, as I mentioned, there's so much to like about them. Anyway, I could keep going, but back to Wisconsin. We go to Green Bay. Matt in Green Bay. Good to have you, Matt.
How you doing? Hey, Rome. I'm doing fantastic. Thanks for asking. Hey, you know, you're talking about the watch parties at AmFam.
You forgot to mention the Deer District. That place can hold up to $65,000, I think. And just looking at some videos, that place was packed. It was. And you know there was a lot of drinking going on.
Probably so much that would make Frank the Tank look like an amateur. But another thing you need to worry about when you do come up here in July, Jim, is there's probably going to be a lot of babies being born from this World Series. There's a lot of people that are going to be getting lucky this week. And lastly, hey, it's still sinking in for me personally as a fan. But when they took the first two against the Dodgers, I'm like, hey, we're going to win.
We're going to go to World Series. We're going to win it. But until that last out, knowing you're going to win it and then actually winning, those are two totally different things, man. It's better than jungle crack, honestly. I mean, it's just everybody at work showed up on time.
They're playing the Brewers' theme song music, lots of victory songs, and we're all just jiving and having a good time. And, man, it's just an incredibly euphoric feeling. Matt in LA, I'm jealous because you actually get to feel that a lot more than we do. But hey, it's no better time than the first time, right? Anyways, have a good day, Jim.
Appreciate you. I'm out. Appreciate you, Matt. Nice job.
So he mentioned the Deer District. We're showing that on the stream right now. It's crazy. It's wild.
Okay, so keep in mind, the Deer District, we're showing you this right now. This is in addition to the stadium, which is sold out. This is what I mean when I say they could probably have watch parties in multiple stadiums. The Deer District is going off. Thousands and thousands of people there in addition to the watch party at the stadium, which was sold out.
In addition to all the Brewers fans that made the trip to the Trop. Incredible. Incredible fan base. And you can tell they're so appreciative. For a lot of you, it sounds like it's just sinking in, like it's not real.
But it is. It is. And of course you're not going to celebrate that until it lost out. When you saw it happening in game four, you thought you had it. But that's why I said that's not happening two games in a row.
When we talked about it on the program yesterday before the game, I said it's going to end tonight. The Miz is going to go in there. The Rays had to go through seven arms the night before. The Brewers are not going to let that happen again. They will finish it tonight.
And they did. And it's not surprising. It didn't take some great insight to know that's how that was going to end. Let's go to Mitch in Milwaukee. I'm loving the Wisconsin reaction.
The Wisconsin engagement is awesome. Mitch, great to have you on the show. How are you doing, Mitch? I'm good, Jim. Thanks for the Vine first-time caller.
I want to go back to Game 2 against the Padres. Jackson Cheerio steps up to the plate, hits his walk-off. I jump about six inches in the air. my foot bends underneath my weight broken. I got days of pain, three plus weeks in a boot and crutches trying to wrangle my two kids under the age of three.
I'm diagnosed with a dancer's fracture. My wife is calling me twinkle toes this whole time. Last night made it all worth it. And I'm going to take Trevor McGill's advice here and talk trash to Chicago. Hey, PCA, David Hamilton has two more home runs than you do in the playoffs.
a shout out to my father-in-law Steven who turned me on to the show a few years ago. Love it. I'm out. Nice job dude.
Sorry about your foot.
Sorry about that twinkle toes but it's all worth it right? My man injured himself celebrating a home run. Come on twinkle toes. She's got to be so mad. You got a couple of babies and now you can't help because you're in a boot?
Yeah but you got a ring. You got a championship and you can talk all the junk you want to Chicago. That Churio walk-off had to have been the moment where you knew. You knew. Like, going into the postseason, you had a really good feeling.
But when Churio walked it off and Twinkle Toes shattered his foot, you knew right then. Like, it's our year. We're a team of destiny. We're going to finish this. We're going to finish this.
Like, Twinkle Toes finished his foot. Shattered his foot. My man. That's quite a story. All right, we're going to break right now.
I am so tempted to ride this right through the top of the hour. Let's see. If you're on hold, stay there. I do want to talk about that big trade in the NFL. I want to give you my thoughts on that and whether or not two number ones are worth anything other than a franchise quarterback.
You know, maybe. Depending on the team, depending on the player. If the team is the Bears and that player is Justin Simmons, Jeffrey Simmons, I should say, is it worth it? Maybe. Maybe.
I'll give you my thoughts on that. If you want to talk about the Brewers, if you're in Wisconsin and you want to share what it feels like, I'm here for that too. The beef segment is coming up at hour number three. Middle of hour number two is A.J. Terrell Jr.
of the Falcons. Lots to get done. And on top of all of that, had a great, great conversation for episode number 432 of the Jim Rome podcast yesterday with former NBA coach David Fisdale. Incredible conversation. My man's one of the great storytellers of all time.
Something else you should look for. Stay tuned. The U.S.
