Everyone talks about how challenging it is to raise kids, but what about protecting them? Outlet covers, kitchen cabinet locks, baby gates—where do you even start?

Well, protecting your home and auto is a great place to start. Progressive offers customized coverage options, so you can be sure you have the right coverage. They're basically the baby gates of insurance. Get a quote at progressive. dot com.

Progressive Casualty Insurance Company, affiliates, and other insurers. Not available in. All states. All right, into our number three. My thanks to Kalani Sataki again.

I want to get your thoughts on that. The way that BYU game ended. BYU all the way up to number two. We're talking college ball. We're talking pro ball.

This is the Jim Rome Show presented by FanDuel. All right, as promised, if you're on hold, stay there. If not, I've got one phone line open. It's toll free one eight hundred six three six eight six eight six. But as promised, we are joined right now by a former NBA center.

He played 16 years in the league. He was taken number 15 overall by the Suns back in 2008. He was a member of seven playoff teams. He is currently an NBA TV analyst. He is Robin Lopez.

Robin, good to have you on the show. How you doing, dude? Jim, I'm doing well. It's so good to be talking to you again, dude. It's so good to see you, man.

It's great to have you. Listen, before we talk hoops, catch me up. How has your post NBA life been treating you, and what's keeping you busy in addition to your broadcasting work? It's been going well. You know, I always kind of had an idea what I wanted to do afterwards.

I'm trying to do some cartooning, comic stuff.

So I'm. I'm I'm I'm enjoying myself. I'm traveling around, seeing friends, seeing the world. I'm good. I'm good, Jim.

Yeah, I knew you'd be good. I'm not worried about that. I was just curious how you'd be good.

So, where in the world? Where where are you traveling to? Where do you want to go? Um, I I've never been to Japan in the winter, so I want to go to Hokkaido for for Christmas. That's my that's my goal.

When I get my break from you know commentating, okay, I'm a commentator now. I don't know if you know. I do know. I'm gonna I'm gonna get there, man, dude. But you're more than that, which is why I haven't gotten there yet.

We're gonna get there in three, two, one. All right.

So the regular season starts off tomorrow night. You've got three games, including the Knicks hosting LeBron and the Sixers. After that historic run that they made last year, the Knicks. How much you like the chances for Jalen Brunson and his teammates to run it back and defend that title? Because we know.

Defending is the hardest thing to do in all of sports. I like their chances. I feel some people are counting them out, but I understand why. Because the East did get noticeably better, and you see their opponents on opening night, the Seventy Sixers. That's just one.

I think the pretty formidable teams out East.

So I really think that I trust the Knicks. They relish being the underdogs, even as champions. I think they feel that's the case, and but I think one of the big pieces they lost is Mitchell Robinson off the bench. Robin Lopez joining us. All right, so yeah, yes, I could see where that would be somebody that would that would certainly concern me as well.

What about the Sixers who you mentioned? LeBron's going to start his twenty fourth NBA season. How do you see him fitting in in Philly on a team that's got three other major scoring options when they're fully healthy? Even if he is LeBron, how do you see that playing out? He's the least of my problems because even when LeBron was peak LeBron.

He was. We always knew he was more of a Magic Johnson than a Michael Jordan. He was a guy that loved to facilitate, loved to get his teammates juiced up and going during the game. And last year with the Lakers, when they were at their best. That's what he was doing.

He was deferring. He made sure the team was Luca's, so there was no confusion on the floor about the order of things, and that trickled down to the rest of the squad. And that's what we saw the Lakers at their best when he was deferring, when he was making sure things were running smoothly for Luca in the Lakers. Talking to Robin Lopez, you're right. When he was option number three, that things did run pretty smoothly.

I would imagine that if you've always been that guy, it's kind of hard to accept when you're no longer that guy or that option. But he did make it work while he was there for a time.

So, what about the Lakers, Robin? You mentioned the Lakers.

So, what about the Lakers, Luca?

Now, Luca, fully Luca, and no LeBron, and that team's got a different look right now and a different roster. How do you think the Lakers project in the West? A tough West. I see them in the top five or six. I love that it's going to be Luca's team.

I love that we're going to see Luca unleashed. We know what Austin Reeves is capable, but I love the signing of Walker Kessler. That's a guy that Luca Luca Doncic went out and said we should go get him.

So he's got Luca's personal stamp of approval, and that's he's a he's he's going to have a connection from Luca with Luca from day one. Because I'm not worried about Walker Kessler on defense. I'm not worried about Walker Kessler doing the little little things. He's gonna solidify a Lakers defense that was not as good as it could have been last year. Because LeBron, he has slow feet.

Luca has slow feet. Austin Reeves isn't a renowned defender. But now that this team's being built around Luca. They're going to be better defensively. Signing Walker Cousins is just one of the ways that's going to be the case.

But offensively, he's going to be setting screens. He's going to be spoon fed by Luca.

So I like the Lakers this next year. Analyst Robin Lopez joining us. Robin, what about tomorrow? The Thunder take on the Spurs in a rematch of last year's conference finals. San Antonio, of course, won that in seven games.

Coming into this season, then, who is the one to beat in the West? That's tough because Oklahoma City. It's it's hard it's hard to believe this. They got better, despite going seven games losing the Spurs. They got back their second best player with Jalen Williams.

I mean, imagine adding that to a Thunder team from last year. But I still have my reservations about them simply because Chet Holmgren's kryptonite is Wemby. They kind of tried to mitigate that by going out and getting the Rook from Michigan as another center, another. There's kind of an arms race going on, like when Shock was in the league, when Prime Shock was in the league, going and get big guys. Unfortunately, this um, the um, this kid, he's skilled.

He he has a hook shot on the block, and he can move around the floor, but he's still ripe.

So I've got San Antonio as my number one out west. Roman Lopez joining me, breaking it all down. You beat me to it, dude. I was going to say to you, Chet Holmgren is good as he is, man. He had a lot of trouble matching up with Wemby last season, as you point out.

His script tonight, it's understandable, right? I mean, the French star is tough for anybody to match up with. As a big yourself, how would you try to slow Wemby down?

Well, so right now, last season, I think it would be easier. It's going to be this. I think this season he came. He he was. I think he was starving all off season.

I think we're going to see a better, smarter one. Be on offense particularly, but last season I would try to goad him into taking as many threes as possible. If that was the case, that was something that he tried to improve last year. He still fell into that trap, and I didn't see him be aggressive enough around the rim.

Sometimes basketball is simple, Jim. You're seven five. I gotta see you around the basket. That's gonna make you you better. That's gonna make your teammates better.

Sometimes it is simple. I like that. Simple but not easy, unless you're that guy. And you're seven five, man. Get to the rack.

Get to the rack. Robin Lopez joining us. Robin, what about Giannis?

So Giannis is gonna make his debut with the Heat on Wednesday against the T Wolves. What did you take away from your time, your time with Giannis in Milwaukee? And then, how do you think Miami projects this year in the East? I remember playing against Miami with Yanni and the Bucks, and those games were always frustrating. It was Jimmy, it was Bam Golan Draghi was on the team, but I think what makes this such a perfect pairing.

Everybody's mentioned it. Miami and Giannis have the same mentality, basketball wise. It's just a match made in heaven. That hard-driven, going the extra mile, fifth quarter ethos. It's they're two peas in a pod.

I really like them in the East. That's just not me being a Giannis and my boy and everything I played with them. I think that we have to realize they have the best. They have the best coach in the NBA in Spo Eric Spoelstra. But Bam had a bio show last year.

He can stretch his game all the way out to the three. Giannis thrives when he has a big who can space the floor, a center who can shoot threes, and also defend the rim and guard. Um, and then you know that, you know that Spo, you know that Pat Riley is going to work his mafioso magic, and you know there are going to be guys that. Even even we have no idea who they. No disrespect, we don't know who they are on the Miami Heat roster right now.

And by the end of the season, they're going to be the envy of the league. There's going to be two, one or two guys out there. Every team in the league will want. That's just how Miami operates. They're that savvy.

With everything, all right.

So, two things. I like that notion of a fifth quarter ethos. I like that line.

So, what I'm hearing from you, Robin, there's something that Miami Heat culture that's not dead yet. That's a real thing. And then secondarily, when you said, "Man, it was frustrating," frustrating going up against Jimmy and Bam. Like, what was it like going up against them when you played? They were relentless, man.

They were relentless, but they were also intelligent. A lot of times, you have that physicality. But when it's also combined with that intelligence, I I remember one of the hardest players for me to guard in the NBA was Nikola Pekovic, from the from the Minnesota Timberwolves, and he was he was huge. He had these big shoulders. He could bump you off the block.

He could hit you in the chest and you'd collapse. But he also had this soft touch on his shot. Where he could put it off the backboard, and that combination of things made him extremely tough to guard, and that's how kind of how the Miami Heat operate on the floor. They're tough, but they're also smart. They're intelligent.

And disciplined man, and disciplined. Robin Lopez joining us. Robin, you're going to do just great at this. Before I let you go, you spent two years with the Blazers too. I want to ask about them.

With the addition of John Morant and the return of Damian Lillard from his Achilles injury, how do you feel about Portland? Seems like everybody's sleeping on them and not giving them a whole lot of respect. Where do you come out on Portland? First of all, people, people, you know, I know. I said Portland's going to finish fourth.

In the Western Conference, I do believe that. First, I want to say, look at all those teams down there that I played for. I played for a lot of different teams. That's like what nine or ten teams down there on the on the. Wait to address the lower third, man.

See, you're gonna be just fine in TV. That's good. That's a good move by you. But so here's my thing. I think John Morant is gonna return to form.

Okay. Damian Lillard, I know how he operates. I know he's hungry. I don't have any worries about Damian coming back. Denny Avia was ascendant last year.

He's he's going to be an all star, but they have people. They have people that are going to hold everybody a different standard. That starts with Damian, but that also continues with Drew Holiday. Drew's a guy that's won two NBA championships. You won one in Milwaukee.

Milwaukee never went back without him. He won one in Boston. Boston never went back without him. He was a guy that the U.S. Olympic team went out and said we have to have on our roster.

They went and got a gold medal.

So he's somebody I know is going to be a leader on that squad. It's not just going to be Damian, but Drew Holiday is going to be that X factor, I think. But then they also have complimentary pieces. I love Donovan Clingan. He's going to be a big man.

He's seven one, seven two. He's going to be huge in that Western Conference for Portland. Hey, Robin. One last thing before you go. Go back to Jaw for a minute.

Why? Why do you have that kind of faith and confidence that that's going to be fine? That he's going to be fine. That he will return to form. Once again, the guys around him.

I think that's going to be a huge part. I think. Think Portland. Portland's a good city to be in. You can just focus on basketball.

Got great food, lots of lots of things to do. I love Portland, but he can focus on the game, basketball. And look, I just think Ja is mentally in a place to show the league what he can do. This is what this is. Ja Morant.

He was there was a point where he was a perennial MVP candidate. He was going to be that next guy for Nike, and I think he's ready to show the league. That's still the case. All right, so I want to point out, Robin. You played for a lot of teams, but you played for seven playoff teams.

Seven playoff teams.

So you played for a lot of teams, but a lot of really good teams. Sixteen years overall in the league. Currently an NBA TV analyst, bro. Tell me, we can do this again soon. Believe it's been far too long, Jim.

I would love to be back on. Absolute blast, Robin. He just crushed it. You crushed it, dude. I would love to do it again soon.

I appreciate you, man. Thank you very much. You made it all better. You did a great job, bro. Thank you.

No, thank you so much, Jim. Thank you. Good man, Robin Lopez. That was a blast. That was a lot of fun.

Now, tell you why that was fun.

Now, it's fun because he's always been fun, but fun because you got some really good intel, really good analysis, and he's ready to roll. NBA TV. Got a good one, Robin Lopez. All right, and by the way, his brother's still playing. Incredibly enough, brother Robin played 16 years, and his bro is still playing.

I always thought those guys were great. All right, when we come back, your reaction to it. I still have thoughts on the weekend of college football, man. What a wild weekend that was. And maybe a quick thought or two on Parents' Weekend in Colorado.

So, clones, quickly one question. Wise old trapper, so amazing.

Well, you know there is something to be said for a family-run business, a family business which stands by quality, a family business which has a standard. The standard is to produce the world's finest beef jerky. Do not be fooled by other brands. All beef jerky is not the same. Make sure you choose Old Trapper, where you can actually see the quality right through their iconic clear view packages.

Because every single bite of Old Trapper is tender. It's never tough because they use just the best and Ingredients. Once again, as part of their standard, you cannot be the best product without having the best ingredients. They know this. They do not take shortcuts.

They do not cut corners. There are no hacks. Just use the best ingredients. Make the best product. You get old trapper.

Grab and go with a four-ounce bag, or load it up with an eighteen-ounce bag. That way, there's enough for the entire team. If you do not see it, and believe me, by now you will. I've been talking about it for years, years on this show. If you don't see it, ask for it by name because no other jerky compares.

Oh, Trapper, what is your beef? You're listening to the Jim Rome Show. The mighty dollar. Once upon a time, it had a whole menu named after it.

dot com slash listen. Holy crap! From bad to worse, this Rams defeat—I thought it was bad. Oh, it was bad. It was bad.

It just got so much worse. I thought their season was coming off the rails. It got so much worse. Wait till you hear this. Momentarily.

All right.

So imagine this: the phone rings. It's your bank. Or you think it is big mistake? That was not your bank. It's a scammer that bought your info from a data broker.

There are hundreds of them that collect your information and sell it to scammers. Last year, Americans told the FTC that they lost almost sixteen billion dollars to fraud. This is why I now use Incogni. It's an online service which sends removal requests to more than four hundred. In twenty data brokers and people search sites, Incogni gets it done, and then watches to make sure that they don't add you back in.

Because that's what they do. Are you trying to do it yourself? That will take hundreds of hours. Incogni will handle it for you. You can't stop scammers from calling, but you can make it tougher for them.

Great service, great product. All right.

So I mentioned bad enough that the Rams lost to Arizona. I mean, it's one thing to start the year by losing to the Niners in Auburn, in Melbourne, I should say, Australia. Should never happen. But then again, they shouldn't have gotten on a plane, gotten off the plane, and gone right to the field. All right, that's a mistake.

Losing to the Broncos, not good. You're a super team. You're supposed to win these games, but it's the Broncos losing to the Bills. Special teams bitching the ass. That'll happen.

I mean, if you're a super team, these things are not supposed to happen, but they did. All right, fine. Losing to Arizona when you're a 12 and a half point favorite at home, that can't happen. Period. But they did, they did, and then it got so much worse.

This is what has happened since the one thing that cannot happen did happen. Rap sheet reports bad to worse. Devonte Adams, who sustained a hamstring injury in last night's loss to the Cardinals, out six to ten weeks. Matthew Stafford already does not look like Matthew Stafford. Not last year's Matthew Stafford.

Now he's without Devontae for six to ten weeks. Wait, there's more. Adam Schefter reports: defensive tackle Puna Ford ruptured his triceps, out for the season. Wait, there is more. Sheffy also reports defensive tackle Kobe Turner is going to miss four to six weeks due to a groin injury, and we know how groin injuries go.

Three extremely important players out: one for the year, one for six to ten weeks, and one for four to six. And arguably, worst of all, I saved the worst for last. The most devastating for last. I played the video earlier. It looked bad.

We kind of laughed at it. There is nothing funny about it now. Rams kicker Blake Groupy tore his ACL. That's devastating. Look at this!

Trying to make that play, getting lit up. Oh, yeah! If you look at him, he's holding his knee. The five foot seven, buck fifty five, maybe kicker. Gets his shot, his first game after they cut the Husky kicker.

Tries to be a hero, make a play, and tore his knee up. Brutal. I mean, bro, way to put your nose in there. You lost your knee putting your nose in there. But way to put your nose in there.

Look at him put his shoulder down. I mean, I know you don't want to play ten on eleven, but kicker, they need a kicker badly. That is brutal. That is absolutely brutal. This is what you get for trying to take a dude on.

Bam! Ran right through him and didn't even feel it. You imagine now you are looking at a poor dude who's looking at a year of rehab. And the dude who trucked him just put his shoulder down and ran right through him. Didn't even feel it, like a knot.

Just like a knot. First of all, Blake, sorry about that, bro. Like, I appreciate the effort. You were utterly overmatched. I don't want to say it'd be like me trying to go out there and make that play, but, bro, you're not that big.

Now what? I mean, I would imagine we've had some tryouts already today, right?

Now what? Who you pulling off the street? There's no way Beavis is coming back. Is Butthead available? And here's the problem.

First of all, they've got so many problems. They have so many problems. The Rams are in big trouble. Honestly, they have got problems, lots of them. But look at this: another special teams disaster.

They never fix that problem.

Now what? You bring in this guy, and in his first game, he tears his ACL. First of all, a kicker tearing an ACL is normally a freak thing, unless you put your shoulder down and try to take on some beast who's running downhill.

Now, what? I do not know the answer. I don't know where they go for a kicker now. You've already blown right through two. Never mind kicker Rome.

How about a receiver? How about a couple of guys on the D line, dude? Kobe Turner. All of a sudden, that D line, which was going to be such a strength. Remember the conversation about Aaron Donald came back because of the depth.

Aaron Donald came back because they could put him on a pitch count. Aaron Donald came back because now he doesn't have to worry about being triple teamed. Bro, Aaron, when you play now, it's gonna be like five on one. They'll have five guys blocking on you. Who's left?

Puna Ford out, Kobe Turner out, Devonte Adams out, and tragically, the hero Blake Groopey out, trying to make a play. That was tragic. That was man. Let's try and get a phone call in here. One eight hundred six three six eight six eight six.

Let's go to Baltimore, Brian, in Baltimore. Great to have you, Brian. What's going on? What's up, Jim? Long time listener, man.

Big time fan since I was eighteen, man. Ninety four. Used to watch you when I come home from school, man. Right on, oh my god, like that, man, brother. Hey, man.

Um, here I listen to you. I like when you say people take a dookie dookie in their pants or dump in their pants. I I'm going to send pamphlets to my local radio station because they laugh at fans when they want the rookie instead of Huntley because he's god awful. We call him we Lamar's our Superman and he's the the Bizarro Superman. Man, he's the dumb one.

You know, says things backwards. We don't want that guy here. We wanted the bat. We wanted the rookie in there. Let him go down the field because he was god awful.

Thirty-one attempts. He just... Oh God, he's horrible. And the Browns—they want to celebrate that way. We'll go right ahead.

We'll we'll see you again when we get Superman back. Other than that, man, that that's brutal with the with the Rams. Hopefully, they're sellers. I'd love to take Aaron Donald off their hands. Have a good one, my brother.

Love you as always. All right, Brian. Be good, man. Be good. I think that's kind of rough on Huntley, but let's face it, nothing's going to be right without Lamar.

You're not going to be right till you get Lamar back, and I hate to say it, and I never thought that I would say it because he's one of my favorite players ever, bro. Derrick Henry puts the ball on the ground a lot, a lot. I hate to say it because the guy came on the show recently, but damn, James Cook thinks that Derrick Henry puts the ball on the ground a lot. Can't have that. Can't have that.

And of course, the Browns are celebrating like they won the Super Bowl. They think they have a Super Bowl team. Browns fan is going crazy. Browns fan thinks they've got a Super Bowl quarterback. I'm telling you what you have.

You have talent. I'm not saying you are bereft. Good word, bereft of talent. A lot of it on the other side of the ball. Listen, you've had talent.

This is not a new thing, and it's a really nice defense. But can we stop acting like the creep is one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL, and that this is the guy that you traded for, that you thought this was the guy you traded for because he's had four come from behind victories. I mean, they count. They go in the books, and they count. And I know you don't care how it looks.

It's a good thing you don't, because it looks like crap. But it counts. And yes, I'm coming around on the monkey again. I got to admit. Immediately when I first heard the Monken talking and fronting for the Browns, I was thinking to myself, "Man, I like this dude.

I like his energy. I like the way he presents himself. I like the way he's handling this opportunity that he worked his whole life to get." And then he lost me. Then he lost me. First of all, I wanted to have lunch with the Monken.

I really wanted to have lunch with the monkin. Lunch with the monkin. Lunch with the monkin. Hey, monkin, you pick the spot. I'll be there.

I want to have lunch with you, monkin. Lunch with the monkin. And then he started f-bomb everybody and was acting really entitled. And I'm like, all right, I'm canceling lunch with the monkin. But they are four and two.

They are four and two, and they are on top of that crappy division. Even if they have a minus sixteen differential, which is the worst in that crappy division, they are on top. Browns are gonna Browns that, and their next opponent is the suddenly victorious Tennessee Titans.

Okay, the murderers' row continues. The Titans who got Chris Bowerd fired. All right, so maybe we're gonna be five and two. Because you know the creep, the creep's gonna get a turnover and a short field and go down the field and set them up for a field goal and they'll win ten to seven. Then all you Browns fans will be like, "Rome, where's our apology?

MVP, MVP." And then I'll be C R E C R E E E P. One week at a time. One week at a time. Let's go to Provo. I mentioned, man, I've seen a lot of nights where it was lit in Provo, but never a night like that.

Nothing I can remember. David in Provo. David, good to have you on. What's up, Jim? Thanks for taking my call.

Hey, I called you twelve and a half months ago to let you know that I went and picked my son up from elementary school. We drove straight to Chavez Ravine to watch Clayton Kershaw's last game as a Dodger—a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for us. Forty-eight hours ago, that once-in-a-lifetime opportunity came right here to Provo. And listen, being there in the stadium with my son—the same son I called about last year—and some of my neighborhood friends was. An experience that I hope my son is talking about when he's 50, 60, 70 years old.

I want to let you, Jim, know, and all the clones out there, that we here as college football fans about the swamp, about the 12th man at Texas A&M, the whiteouts in state college, and the big house. If I've been all across the country to those stadiums, there is nothing. In college football, like Lavelle Edwards Stadium at night, with Kalani Sitaki down there roaming the sidelines, running this program, it is an opportunity. I want to invite you, Jim, to come experience it personally. And all the clones out there, if your favorite team is coming to Provo, come join us and see us how we do it.

You will not regret it. Hey, War, Kalani Sitaki. War BYU beating Utah in a couple weeks. War BYU being number one in the nation. Jim, thanks for taking my call.

I love the show. I'm out. Nice show. I mean, nice job, David.

Well done. I remember that phone call when you said that you drove with your son all the way to Chavez Ravine to see Clayton Kershaw. I mean, that that's something you never forget. If you're a father and you take your son and you do that, and he just said, "My son, the same son, was at that game," and I hope that's something he remembers when he's fifty, sixty, seventy. I don't think there's any doubt.

You don't forget a night like that. I mean, Kalani, Kalani was talking about when he was a teenager. He stormed the field, and then he also played at BYU, and he's coached at BYU. And you could see how emotional he was at the end of that game.

So I don't think there's any doubt that anybody who was there that night is never going to forget what they saw that night. I give you a little scouting report on Utah. I saw them. On Saturday night in person, BYU Utah is always awesome, always absolutely awesome. And I thought that both those teams pretty much lived up to billing in the first half, and then it completely flipped in the second half.

If Utah plays the way they played Saturday night, they're gonna have a problem. And we're talking about a team that came in ranked eleventh, I believe. And big favorites, and then Colorado played. See, Utah came out, and we were barely in our seats, and they went right down the field to start the game, and scored on the opening drive. And I looked at Janno.

I'm like, "You get used to it." That was less than optimal. You know, Jano being the big buff fan that she is, I'm like, this is going to go on all night long. But actually, the best entertainment was the gal who sat behind us who started pouring beer on her family, on her brother's head, on her dad's head. I think I'm like, great. It's Parents' Weekend.

Lots of things like that happen on Parents' Weekend. All right, let's break when we come back. One more segment. Hey, how about some ATPs? It's Monday.

Hey Jim, did you and/or anybody on the staff get the foldable iPhone, Mike in Temecula, Mike? Since I'm the only one on the staff that cares about that type of thing, and I didn't, I'm assuming the answer is no. I did not. I did not. So I'm assuming none of them did.

Just speaking in Temecula, I went to a wedding a couple of weeks back in Temecula. Had not been there in a minute. Holy crap, dude! Where did all the wineries come from? Went down that main drag.

I could not believe it. I mean, like Napa, like San Ynez. Like the wine country. I mean, it was cool. It was pouring rain, and even at the wedding, it rained.

It's the only wedding I've ever been to in my entire life where we all sat outside for the ceremony with our umbrellas open. We sat in the rain. It's still a great wedding, but it rained. And somebody locally was saying, "This is the first time ever, ever this time of year that we've had this problem." But in terms of the foldable, since I'm not interested, I'm going to assume that nobody else is either. Like this, guys, bowing the OBC.

Since you sent it, I'm not interested. Here's one. Why, why, why? Did you and Rogues rip any tubes? Or slam shots from an ice luge this past weekend in Boulder.

Or getting high with your kid, Mike in the Bay, hurting them. All right, so the answer is no, no, no to we didn't get high. No to slamming shots. I will tell you this.

So we go to our favorite restaurant in Boulder. It's a place called Cork. It's the one. It's where I showed you that picture of the prime rib. We try to go there every single year for parents' weekend, and we've been there multiple times.

First time ever, Rogues got himself a job, and Rogues has been working hard and and making money and banking money for the first time ever.

So for my birthday, parents' weekend ended up on my birthday week. We go to this restaurant. And it's prime rib, and it's not cheap. It's incredible. Bet maybe the best prime rib I've ever had anywhere.

That good, but not cheap. And if I'm gonna have a prime rib, and it's birthday weekend, and it's parents' weekend, you know I'm gonna have a cocktail.

So I go vodka straight up. Rogues goes vodka. He's of age. He gets a vodka martini. Janno, I think went like Bombay water.

Jenna always gets a drink and always sends it back, and she's always sweet about it. Oh, I'll pay for that. I'll pay for that. I just, you know, can I get something else? We're used to the routine.

Anyway, this kid, I have one. I'm gassed. He has a second because Mama wants a nightcap. Then he goes out with his girlfriend and their friends. And smashes four or five beers, and then gets up and goes to class the next morning.

And so I see his. He he lives in this incredible house that, like, every one of the parents were like, "Dude, there were never houses like that when we went to college." So I see his roommate, and his roommate recants the story and says he sees Logan, and Logan was like in a fight for survival after his fourth beer, after his two martinis, and he had a morning class. I'm like, this kid. I was in line yesterday at the airport. You know I'm doing, trying to do all my work on the fly, and watch all the games, and I've got everything on my phone and my laptop, and I'm doing all my thing.

But I finally get in line, and I'm looking at all the other parents because all it is is parents getting on the plane to go back home. And I finally said, "Is it me or is parents' weekend?" Bleeping exhausting, and this one woman turns and she goes, "It's exhausting because every single minute is accounted for, and the kids all want to get, they all want to get high. We didn't, or they all want to drink, or they all want to go somewhere. Every single minute a parent's weekend is accounted for, and we're all trying to keep up. And the funny thing is, some of the parents can't.

This old head here, man, I still got it in me." To a certain extent, but working the way I work to get on a plane and immediately just get going and have to be somewhere by the end of the weekend, I'm like, damn! I just want to get back to the grind of my life. It's easier. It's easier than parents' weekend.

So, if that answers the question, no, I did not. I did not. Rip any tubes or slam any shots, but Lugs and I had a few beers and one martini. Amber's in. Romy.

I wonder if after learning that Groupy tore his ACL, if Bitch Hips Beavis was waiting by the phone. Keep waiting. The Rams may be desperate, but not that desperate. Bitch hips beavis, amber's too much. V and the fee is speaking for a lot of you other losers.

I include you in that. V, it's so lame to say the cardinals killed the rams with the help of the refs. It's hard to be in L.A. and kill something all by yourself. Yours, Oge.

Oh. Oh, Rome! Rome went there. No, he didn't. I'm not doing this.

Don't you think I would have gotten that already if that was something that interests me in the least? He wore the Vikings getting Jonathan Taylor. Wore Rome donating to the OJ Innocence Project. Hey V, I'll tell you what. I'll make you a deal.

I'm not gonna tell you what to do with your few nickels. You don't tell me what to do with my money. How are the Vikings going to get Jonathan Taylor? They could use him. That'd be nice.

He's not having a very good year, but then again, none of them are over there. Nika, the Queen. Quote: Not the results. Hey, wait a minute! Whoa, whoa, whoa!

My bad. We had a video ATP.

Well, there's Nika. Awkward.

Sorry about that, Lauren. If I get a video ATP from Japan, I would really like to roll that if possible. Hedstrom Bacon from Japan, roll it. Hey, what's up, Jim? I know that you and Jen will really love Italy, especially the Amalfi Coast.

Did you know that the flight from LAX to Tokyo is about the same? Have you guys ever considered coming to Japan? Pretty nice, bro. You are first of all, nice flex, bacon. Second of all, man, you really are the epitome of living your best life.

Way to go, bro. That guy's hit us from some really exotic locales. An ATP from Japan. I'm up for it. Hey, by the way, how interesting that.

Robin Lopez said, "He says, you know, retirement's great. I'm seeing places. I'm going places. I'm like, where have you gone? Where do you want to go?" He said, "You know where I want to go?

Japan in the winter for Christmas. And then on the same day, we get an ATP from Headstrom Bacon from Japan, bro. Are you hosting the show from Japan this week? Incredible." It's not on our short list, but I'm open to it. O'Reilly Auto Parts can eliminate the guesswork out of your vehicle's check engine, ABS, or maintenance light with O'Reilly VeriScan.
