Hope you had a great weekend. Nice to be back. I took off Thursday and Friday, and my thanks to my co-hosts, guest hosts that came in because DJ and I went to Boulder, Colorado for Parents' Weekend, and I've got a short recap on that a little bit later on. But we have so much to get to between now and then, so why don't we start getting to it right now? If you know what you want to talk about, again, it's been kind of a renaissance on the phones.
The phones have been lighting up the last several weeks. I love it. Go ahead, hit me up right now. We are open in terms of the interviews. They don't start until one twenty.
So if you want to give me a call right now, go ahead and do it. Coming off an amazing NFL weekend, one of the wildest college weekends ever. If you want to talk some AOCs, which is kind of getting lost in the shuffle, we can do that. Milwaukee Brewers on the World Series and a whole lot more.
So hit me up one eight zero zero six three six eight six eight six. It is toll free one eight zero zero six three. Eight six eight six eight six. Find me on the X at Jim Rome. Email me at Rome or email me at Have a Take dot com.
And also, if you want, head on over to our YouTube channel. If you do so, can you hit the sub button? Can you ring the bell? Then get into the chat. Become a distinguished clone.
It comes with a nominal fee and a bitchin' little R, which you get right away. And maybe chat will make a comeback. Chat was pretty quiet. Actually, that's not true. Chat was very loud, except the phone callers took over chat.
Chat first took over the callers, then the callers ripped this show back from Chat.
So I don't know who actually is going to have the upper hand this week. We'll find out. In terms of the interviews coming up at one twenty, yes, I had a conversation with him a few weeks back, but that was prior to them having one of their biggest wins ever, BYU over Notre Dame. BYU head football coach Kalani Sitake joins me in hour number two. Coming up in hour number three, the association is tipping off.
Former NBA center Robin Lopez is an NBA TV analyst, so we will talk to him at the top of hour number three. I've got an ATP in there somewhere too.
So go ahead, hit me up. If you want to respond to any of this or anything, do it right now because I've had a couple of days off, so I'm ready to roll. Let me start with the NFL whip. I like to do that on a Monday during NFL season, and I'll start by saying, if you're getting ready for work right now, getting ready for work right now. Chris Ballard.
Chris Ballard. Chris Ballard. Turns out, going all in on Daniel turnovers is still not a very good plan. And it turns out to be a very bad plan when you trade two first-round picks for a cornerback that is your alleged finishing piece on an alleged Super Bowl contender, only to go out and then lose eleven of your next fourteen games. That will get you fired.
Good news is, I guess now we know what Carly Gordon Urse is scribbling in her notepad as she's walking around the sideline. She's scribbling that losing at home to the worst team in the league means that somebody's head has to roll, and the GM goes first. And I understand why, but the head coach can't be far behind, and a full rebuild can't be far behind that. Sure, would be nice to have that 2027 first round draft pick from the Jets right about now, especially since it's going to be a high draft pick. But that's gone, and so is Ballard.
Ballard's already gone, and I've got to admit, I'm a little surprised that that's the only name on the chopping block. Let me just stop right there. If you're a Colts fan and you want to respond, this is not at all surprising. But if you want to respond to it and you want to talk about it, you know where to find me one eight zero zero six three six eight six eight six or any of the other ways.
Now it's a little surprising him getting broken off. It's not surprising at all, but it's a little surprising that that's the only name on the chopping block this morning. Yo, Mick Vape, that key card really still works. Yo, Mike McDaniel, they really let you in the door at the bolt this morning, because if they're still letting you in that door, I'm not sure why, and I'm not sure for how long.
Now, it's not that I'm blaming everything on McVape. I'm not. It's just that something has got to change at this point. The quarterback. Is the worst quarterback in the league.
The offense is the worst offense in the league, and not only is none of this getting any better, it's all getting worse. And I don't think that Justin Herbert could possibly look any more miserable than he looks out there. Incredibly enough, Sean McVay though. And Matthew Stafford and the Rams look nearly as miserable right now. And again, I'll backtrack.
If any of you Charger fans want to talk about that situation, you go right ahead. Because to me, they are far and away the biggest disappointment in the NFL right now. 0 and 6, 0 and 6.
So we'll talk more about them. I'm just rolling right through this because I want to put out as many topics as I can. Then you get to the Rams, and they look pretty miserable too, and for damn good reason, because like the Chargers back in Week One, the Rams also managed to lose to the Cardinals at SoFi yesterday. How amazing is that? The Cardinals have beaten both LA teams.
In L.A. house, so it's not just the Niners that make themselves at home in Rams' house. Apparently, the Cardinals also feel right at home in Cardinals' house. It's like the Rams just can't get anything right at the moment. For instance, right after they run their chunky kicker into the wood chipper, they naturally signed the opposite of a hefty kicker.
Unfortunately, five foot seven, one hundred and fifty pound Blake Grupy tried to make a tackle on a kickoff less than six minutes into his Ram career, and immediately got himself hurt. Oh, it's like the John Elway helicopter. Of course, the return man didn't even feel it. This dude damn near died on the field, and the guy that he tried to put the lick on didn't even feel it. It's like, is that not man?
Get off me, dude! Got vaporized, vaporized, and then immediately left the Rams without a kicker. But let's face it, the Rams should not have needed a kicker to beat the Cardinals at home. At least, not if the Rams really were anywhere near the team that they were supposed to be. You know that Super Team.
Truth is, the Rams just are not anything near the team they're supposed to be. And part of that's got to fall on my guy Sean McVay. My man is not doing a very good job with that team, and his MVP quarterback looks nothing like the MVP this year either. In fact, Matthew Stafford is out there having flat-out senior moments. They've not converted the Rams since the 2023 season.
On a two-point conversion attempt, Stafford looking hit ball comes loose. They wanted to pitch it. They wanted to pitch it. He didn't pitch it. Taken down.
At the 35 yard line, Kietro Clark is saying, "Dude, give me the ball." Hey, big man, I know that you saw nothing but green grass, but you got to know there are dudes running behind you. They're going to run you down. Maybe pitch it back to Stafford. It's like that dude's brain just broke. He's just like looking, looking at his only option, looking, looking, looking, looking longer, looking longer.
I got all the time in the world. Bam, splat. Gets hammered from behind, and then tried to get up and looked even worse. And yet, even with all the struggles and miscues. The Rams still had one point, or had a one point lead, with forty-seven seconds left, which, of course, was more than enough time for Jacoby Brissett, of all people, and the Cardinals to come flying up the field and nail a game-winning field goal, which is exactly what happened.
And no, I do not want to hear about the BS personal foul. I am showing it on the stream right now. Of course, that's a BS call, no doubt about that. That is a BS personal foul call, no doubt, soft as hell. Should not have been a flag.
However, it was one of dozens of BS moments from the ref show yesterday. But I don't want to hear ref show excuses from the Rams right about now. The ref show did not beat the Rams. Hell, the Cardinals, I'm not even sure, beat the Rams. The Rams beat the Rams, as Sean McVay admitted himself after the game.
You know, congrats to the Cardinals. You know, we won't win a game unless we figure out how not to beat ourselves. Just so many unforced errors, so many things that are not in alignment with what we want to do. Specifically on the offensive side of the ball, give up a big return to be able to start, lose the kicker, covering on that kickoff coverage, and that comes out for a big gain. And so, you know, we didn't we didn't do enough.
Sean's like, you know, congrats to ourselves for beating ourselves. Congrats to the Rams for a big ram a big win. They beat the Rams. He's right, though. Major problem.
Major problem. Major problem, though, with them beating themselves because Sean McVay teams are not supposed to beat themselves. That's not what McVay teams do. That's not what McVay led teams do. I mean, Super Team, Super Bowl team.
They're not even a playoff team right now. They're not a playoff team right now. They're not even a good team right now.
Now would be a very good time to panic, Rams fan. But McVeigh led teams do not beat themselves.
However, the Cowboys do. But at least we can all still take comfort in the fact that the Cowboys are still doing it too, still beating themselves, and no showing in big games and losing in prime time. How about them Cowboys? Am I right, Cowboy fan? How's that gaudy going for you, whack?
Greatest offense, greatest offense there is, man. You know what's so gaudy? That's whack. That is whack, whack. That's whack.
Calling it gaudy. You know. You know what's so gaudy? Throwing it out of bounds on fourth and eleven with the game on the line. Let's see, gaudy Dak.
We're showing it on the stream. Whack back to pass, throws it up to nobody. What are we doing, bro? We trying to kick a field goal? Did you think that was going to get you three points to cut the two scores?
What are you doing? Why let anybody try to make a play, right? Especially when anybody is a part of Gotti. I mean, what's even the point? Forget the fact that he's got C.D.
Lamb and George Pickens out there. Better just to throw the ball through the goalposts and get the bus warm. Am I right? Whack! Incredible with sixty mil will buy you today.
And as for Shotty Junior's infamous quote, "That's not who I am," and I will be better after that debacle in Brazil. Actually, Shoddy Junior. That's exactly who you are, and you're obviously not getting better, man. Jera has made some really bad decisions when hiring head coaches, but this one right here might very well be his worst of all. At least, however, we did get to see some quality quarterback play last night.
It just wasn't from the highest-paid quarterback. It was from the Packer quarterback who balled out for a second week in a row. Don't let that stat line in the box score confuse you. The Packers were dropping Jordan Love dimes all over the yard, including in the end zone. Let's take a look.
Here we go. That's bad. That is really bad. Hit him in a bad spot. His hands.
Number two. The offense is starting to come together. Here's number three. Ah, hit me in my hands. Another bad spot.
I mean, my man's throwing dimes. Don't put it on Jordan Love. Because Jordan Love is putting it right on his dudes, the offense is starting to come around. Despite the fact that they still can't run the ball, and they still lead the league in drops by a million. Imagine if either of those things change for the Packers.
Imagine if they could start running the ball. Imagine if they could start catching the ball. Or imagine if Michael Parsons ever comes back. In place, or imagine if all of these things happen. But credit to the perfectly manicured head coach, because Matt Lafleur managed to turn things from a doom spiral and reoccurring choke jobs to incredibly promising, incredibly quickly prospects.
Then again, the Cowboys are the ultimate get-right game, aren't they?
However, if you want to talk about a turnaround. Maybe the most impressive turnaround the entire year has been CJ Stroud. It's just been tough to tell because the Texans have not been giving him a hell of a lot of help, right? It's almost like the twenty twenty six Texans have been the inverse of the twenty twenty five Texans last year. The team was incredible, and CJ was the pinch of poop in the ice cream.
This year, everything around CJ is kind of a mess, but this dude is straight dealing. CJ put that team on his back and carried them to an absolutely massive win in London. That win right there, straight up, kept their season alive. Houston had to have that game, especially against a division rival, and it's not like the defense stepped up and some huge. Way or even at all, it was CJ who stepped up in a huge way, and dude was just surgical with it all day long.
I still have no idea how he fit this ball into Foster Moreau going into the half. Stroud, close one. Why have they catched made by Foster Moreau? His second touchdown. Another perfect throw from C.J.
Stroud. The catch is fantastic. Do you understand how difficult of a throw that is? This is why this guy's completion percentage over expected is what it is. Look where he puts the ball.
It has to. Was that AI? Did that really happen? I mean, threading the needle does not begin to do that justice. What incredible ball!
So the Texans are still alive thanks to C.J. Stroud. Now, if they can simply remember how to play any defense at all, now that's it. They are two and zero since Domico took back defensive play calling, and there are some very winnable games coming up. Not dead, can't quit.
Am I right, Nick the Clone? I'm definitely a clone. Just find a way. Am I right? NTC, way to go, gargantuan win.
I've got more. I have to say though, the most shocking thing to me about week six was nine, not because nine got in the game. That wasn't that shocking, and not because nine was actually wearing number eighteen. We already talked about that, and of course, I was not surprised when nine threw a hideous pick with his fourth pass attempt as a Giant. I'll admit it though.
I did not expect nine to set that field on fire after that, and nearly bring the Giants all the way back from a 24-point deficit. Watching JJ fling it around with reckless abandon in the fourth quarter was hilarious because it was a lot like watching Jameis Winston throw it around with reckless abandon in the second half last week. It's like nine is somehow just a younger Jameis. Complete with coming up one play short of actually winning the game. Still a pretty impressive effort by JJ in his giant debut.
Check out this stat. This stat's incredible. Dude threw for more yards in the fourth quarter of that game than Justin Herbert has thrown in any full game all season. That is incredible. Look at those numbers.
Justin Herbert's season high for passing yardage in a single game this year: two twenty-six. JJ came off the bench and threw for two hundred and forty-three yards in the fourth quarter against the Saints. Man, I'd love to say this has got to be, has to be rock bottom for Justin Herbert. But it feels like there's still more room to fall. Like we haven't actually hit rock bottom yet, which is why I'm shocked that I made it to the end of this take.
And McVay still has a job. At least Jim Harbaugh has got some very concrete answers for everybody. Oh wait. No, he still does not have any answers. Blank, Blankus, am I going to continue calling, please?
We're going to look at everything. I mean, the job I'm doing. I mean, it starts with me. The plan is to, you know, we'll watch this and get with the, get with our offensive coaches. And yeah, I see the, I see the effort.
I see the, you know, the work being put in. In the meetings on the practice field, and you know, to get that to translate to to the field is is what's necessary. You know, I wonder if McVay say, "Hey, hey, coach, hey, coach, before you go out there, hit this vape, hit this thing, hit it hard. It'll help. It'll help." So come to find out, the so-called best hire of the off season.
Was actually the worst hire of the off season, because McVay's offense and Herbert are a terrible fit. How they all didn't know that coming in, I have no idea. But I do have one more question for Jim Harbaugh: Who's got it better than you, everybody? Even the Dolphins, dude. Even the Titans, dude.
Everybody. Even the Jets, bro. Everybody zero to six and no answers, and you're getting worse, not better. Wow! I see the effort.
I see you see the effort. You see the practice. It's just not showing up in game. Why not, man? Why not?
Then some other things. This. This jail and hurt story. Have you seen this? This is insane, insane.
So we start. We're starting off with a slight blood clot. Let's get on a plane. Let's make a transatlantic flight. Let's let the guy play, and then let's find out that he's got multiple clots moving through his body, and he's out indefinitely.
Done. No football, no football contact, and they're saying that he will be back at some point. But how did it get to that point? It's a crazy story.
So we'll get into that. A lot of college football that I want to talk about too. One eight hundred six three six eight six eight six. I'll give you a quick recap of Parents Weekend at Boulder and more. Kalani Satake coming up at one twenty.
Robin Lopez coming up at two o'clock, and plenty of time for your phone calls. Welcome to your most rewarding season ever. Only on FanDuel. How rewarding are we talking? More rewarding than a touchdown with time expiring.

Insured by NCUA. Credit and collateral subject to approval. One quick question for you: Why is Old Trapper beef jerky so amazing? Why don't we start with the fact that? It's a family-run business, a family-run business that I know, and a family-run business that stands by quality and produces the world's finest beef jerky.
Do not be fooled by the other brands. All beef jerky is not the same. Make sure you choose Old Trapper. You can actually see the quality right through their iconic clear view packages. They do that on purpose.
They want you to know exactly what you're getting. Every single bite of Old Trapper is tender. It's never tough because they use just the best ingredients. Once again, they don't. Need to do that.
They choose to do that. From their lean strips of beef seasoned with top quality spices to their real wood-fired smoke, Old Trapper delivers quality in every single bite, and it comes in four amazing flavors: old-fashioned classic beef jerky flavor, exceptionally tender, it's smoky, it's delicious. Also teriyaki with the yellow label, where Old Trapper turned the flavor dial to eleven. Hot and spicy, with a spice so nice, you know you are going to want to stack twice. And then you've got peppered tender seasoned beef covered in crack pepper.
A cold beer's best friend, so grab and go with a four ounce bag, or load up with an eighteen ounce bag. That way, there is enough for the entire team. If you don't see it, and you will, but if you don't see it, ask for it by name because no other jerky compares, old trapper. What is your beef, Browns fan? I will get you in a minute.
I know you're really put off, and you feel like I'm somehow disrespecting you by not putting you in the opening whip, or that I somehow forgot you. the the The odds on Super Team, Super Bowl favorite, the Browns. I'm not disrespecting you, nor did I forget you. I'm just not as impressed with you as you are with you. But I'll give it to the Munken.
He's inching closer to lunch with the Munken. He's doing what those before him could not do: finish games. I'll get there in a minute. I want to talk about something more important to me than the Browns. No offense.
Gusto. Every small business owner dreams of scoring a TD. For me, that TD was finding Gusto, the online payroll and benefit software built for small businesses. Gusto was all in one, remote friendly, and has every play covered. You can pay, hire, onboard, and support your team from anywhere with unlimited payrolls.
And payroll runs and no surprise fees. Go to Gusto. dot com today. See why over five hundred thousand small businesses call Gusto their MVP. That's G U S T O.
dot com. Gusto. dot com. And truth be told, that was the very first call we made, Janet and I, when we got control of the business, the radio program. When that became our business, we knew we needed help.
Gusto was the first one we called. Browns fans, come on. Come on, you know I'm not hating on you. How many times do we have to go over this? I was the only one nationally that had your back and glossed you America's team back in the day, and yet now you're like, "Hey, come on, Rome, why weren't we in the open?
Why you gotta hate? Look at us, look at us." All right, I am looking at you. You're four and two. I can't take that from you. You, I'll tell you what else I can't take from you: your minus sixteen differential, which is the worst in the division.
But you are four and two. I'm sorry, but I'm looking at your quarterback, and what you're trying to say to me is, "Hey, Rome, that's four late comebacks for the creep." Give me respect. Dude, stop acting like you have Patrick Mahomes under center. Stop acting like you have even C.J. Stroud under center.
All right, he's doing what he has to do on short fields with some help, but they're finishing and they're winning. I'm not hating on you. I'm not saying it doesn't matter, but it doesn't matter enough to make the open. We can talk about it. We can talk about it.
If I were you, I would not be buying Super Bowl tickets.
Okay, okay, okay, okay. I'm just not as impressed with you yet as you are with yourselves.
Now, let me say this about Cleveland. I will say this. I am impressed with that defense. The defense, I'm really impressed with. Why?
I didn't think they'd be that same defense without Jim Schwartz.
Now remember, Schwartz did not get that job, and he bounced.
So I did not think, and I think very highly of him as a D coordinator. I did not think that that D would be as good as it is or as stout as it is without Schwartz and Miles Garrett. And it's like they don't miss either one of them at all. They are playing really good defense. But but Sea Town, why are you coming at me as aggressively as you are?
Because you're four and two. Granted, it's better than zero and six. I'll give you that. Browns are gonna Browns.
Okay, so when he said that at that time, I'm like, take it easy, Monkman. But you know what? He's backing it up. I listen. I like what I see from him.
And I like what I hear from him because he made a point. Browns is gonna Browns. F that, but he's right. They're finding ways. When these find ways to lose.
Now I'm not saying that they look great doing it, but they are doing it, and they are finding ways. Ian McLean, welcome back, part timer. Did at Big Head Bets pick you up from the airport and buy you an imported beer? Signed Ian in the Natty. No.
No, when I was landing, I sent him a few pics. I looked out the window and I took a few pictures of the tarmac. I'm like, "Yo, bro, I'm gonna be on the ground in 30 seconds. See you at the baggage carousel." Knowing full well that I would not see him at the baggage carousel.
Now that that guy didn't lift a finger, didn't take a step, he lifted a thumb. What he did was he thumbed out his college picks for me on Saturday morning. That was his way of trying to make it right, which didn't. Hey, Rome, being a Rams fan this year is like getting set up on a blind date with what you were told was going to be a bombshell. You get there and it's just some tank.
That's already blown through four plates of mozzarella sticks, and I'm ready to sneak out the back door and get ready for the NBA. Chad and Cali, we should know better, right? I mean, I gave them the benefit of the doubt, and I would still say not dead can't quit. But statistically, teams that start off two and four do not win the Super Bowl. Teams that start off two and four do not make the Super Bowl.
But they got the benefit of the doubt because of who they are, because of how close they came last season, because of one of the most incredible off seasons ever. But then again, you think about it: when was the last team a so-called, or last time a so-called super team worked, ever, ever? Not that I can recall.
So no, they're not at full health, but nobody cares. Nobody wants to hear that. It's more about how they're playing with what they have. I mean, damn, they look flat. It's one thing to say, "Well," I'll finish that thought.
I want to take a break. When we come back, I want to talk about that, and I want to talk about Jalen Hurts. Like, I cannot believe this Jalen Hurts situation. Phone lines are open one eight hundred six three six eight six eight six. Also.
Coming up next hour, Kalani Sitake one twenty, Robin Lopez top of hour number three.
So lots to get to in ATP as well. Stay tuned. You're listening to the Jim Rome Show. Overpaying auto loans sounds simple, but it's not always as straightforward as it should be. Extra hurdles and processes can sometimes make it tougher to get ahead.

All right, so lots. To get to, if you're on hold, stay there. I'm high for the phone calls. Hate to make you wait. Just stay there, hang in there.
We'll get to you. I want to talk about Jalen Hurts. Look, I am no doctor. I don't try to play one on the stream or on radio, but I'm not sure I need to be to not be weirded out by the details of how Philadelphia handled the Jalen Hurts blood clot situation, or I should say. How the Eagles completely mismanaged the situation in nearly every conceivable way.
Come to find out, the situation was a lot more serious than first reported. At wrap sheet, quote more details. What was originally believed to be a superficial blood clot was then revealed Sunday afternoon to be several blood clots in Jalen Hurts' lungs. At that point, it all changed. It is serious.
It is scary, and Jalen Hurts should make a full recovery. End quote. Um, pretty big difference. And again, I never went to med school. But it seems to me a pretty big difference between a superficial blood clot in your calf, and several traveling blood clots that have moved into your lungs.
How the hell do you miss that? And somehow it gets even more bizarre. And wrap sheet quote. Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts, who is out for the season after several blood clots were revealed in his lungs, has been undergoing tests for days. Before the London game, he was in the hospital until 4 a.m.
and did not sleep because sleep was a risk. He played without having slept. End of quote. I mean, what? They thought it was superficial, just superficial.
He got cleded. Remember, initially they thought it was just superficial. Yet they had him in the hospital all night long, and was told he could not sleep because it was not safe for him to sleep.
So he stayed up for what twenty four, thirty six hours, doesn't sleep. Comes out of the hospital, and somehow the Eagles thought it was safe for him to play an NFL game the next day. Again, in the hospital and not permitted to sleep because that was thought to be unsafe. But it was safe enough for him to play in an NFL game. And I don't want to hear that it was his decision and he wanted to play, and that's the way players are.
If you're in the hospital the night before and they're not letting you sleep because it's not safe, how is playing in an NFL game the next day safe? And then immediately you fly home after that, and then when you get home, you keep practicing. Make any of this make any sense? Again, I'm not a doctor. I'm just a layman looking at this, but it seems like major malpractice from the Eagles and their medical staff.
And remember, he's out for the rest of the year, of course, because he has blood clots that have traveled into his lungs. Again, I am not a doctor, I am not a medical expert. Logic, however, would indicate that if a guy has to stay all night long in the hospital, and it's not even safe for him to sleep, then it's probably not safe to play football. And we all know the last thing anyone in this condition should be doing is taking transatlantic flights. Yet here the bleep we are.
I will say this: Jalen's cryptic comments about the London situation last week make a hell of a lot more sense now, don't they? Calf injury? How'd that happen, and was it a factor at all? It was a very unique experience, to say the least. I don't want to get into the details of kind of leading up to the game and whatnot, but.
Got got nicked up in the in the Rams game. Is that why you really came out just before kickoff? Just trying to rest and yeah, yeah. Trying trying to stay loose. Um, yeah, just trying to make sure that those blood clots didn't travel to my lungs.
Allegedly. Was trying to get some extra rest because I hadn't slept like thirty-six hours. Because they wouldn't let me, I was in the hospital, and they said it would be unsafe to sleep, so I didn't come out until right before kickoff. Because I was just trying to maintain or get as much rest as I possibly could. Oh, you mean you don't have to sleep deprive yourself before every single game?
And spend the night before the game in the hospital. Who needs a team hotel on the road, right? When you can just check yourself into the ER, where they make sure you don't sleep. This whole thing is really, really odd, and frankly, really troubling. I understand that guys will do what guys will do to get on the field.
However, there is a line that cannot be crossed. There is a line where the team. And the team's doctors, even though the team's doctors work for the team, have got to protect the player from himself. And how do you miss that? How do you miss a superficial blood clot that's in a calf when you've been looking at this guy for days, and you had him in the hospital the night before the game?
I mean, red flags everywhere, right?
So, thankfully, he appears to be fine. Thankfully, he's expected to make a full recovery and return next season. Thankfully and hopefully, but he's out for the rest of the year. And why did he play in that game? Why did that guy play in that game when they had him in the hospital the night before and would not allow him to sleep?
And come to find out. There are multiple blood clots, and they're traveling, and they worked their way into his lungs. Hopefully, he's fine. Hopefully, he returns to play next year. I wonder where, though.
Will he still be the Eagles' quarterback next season, or are they about to bottom out and clean house and start over? It looks like that. It feels like that. And and again, if you want to say, "Hey, man, this dude's a warrior." Hello, blood clots, blood clots in his lungs. I don't care how much of a badass you are, how courageous you are, how badly you want to be out there.
You have to protect the player from themselves in certain situations. Seems to me, unless I'm missing something, that would be one of those situations. A blood clots, plural situation.
So it obviously looks like this season's over, Philadelphia. And not only that, it looks like the end of an era. It looks like it might be very well be the end of the Exiriani. We already saw Lane Johnson retire. Would it really surprise anyone if they moved on from Jalen Hurts?
And imagine how awkward and goofy and bizarre. And dangerous it would be if this is the incident that ended the relationship between the Eagles and their Super Bowl MVP. Then again, I don't want to say it would be fitting because it's disturbing. But considering the entire Hurts Philly experience, man, it has all been pretty bizarre, hasn't it? This might be the strangest development yet.
This situation makes the year-long, years-long, mysterious feud between Hurts and AJ Brown seem downright normal. That seems normal. Oh, AJ, maybe you hold onto a ball. Not, not the greatest start for him upon his return to the Patriots. They at least hold on.
But man, this is odd. I know there have been millions of times that NFL players had no business being on the field, yet were on the field. But how did this guy get on the field? How was this guy allowed to play in that game? Are you going to tell me they didn't know?
If they didn't know, why was he in the hospital the night before? If they didn't know, why was he in the hospital and not allowed to sleep? If they didn't know. And my question would be, how could they not know? How could you not know?
And and what are you gonna do? Leave it up to the player? Of course not. What you know? What I want?
I want a doctor. Since I am not a doctor, since I am not a doctor, and I don't even play one on this stream. Or on this nationally syndicated radio program, I would love to hear from an actual doctor who's got a reaction to that story and what that doctor thinks happened. Because I find that whole thing really hard to believe. One eight hundred six three six eight six eight six.
Mark in Hollywood is in quote. Hey Eagles medical staff. Can you hear me, Eagles medical staff? Remember when you let your Super Bowl MVP play in London with a blood clot? Yeah, did you try and kill Jalen Hurts?
Yes, I knew you, buddy. Yeah, yeah. The optics are not good, right? And then when he got up there, the way he answered that—remember, cryptically, like I really don't want to get into that. Let's just say it was interesting.
I don't want to get into any of that.
Well, is that why you waited so long before you came out for kickoff? Yeah, I don't really want to get into any of that. Let's just say it was kind of strange. Yeah, really strange. Skev was in the hospital the night before, and they told him it's not safe to sleep.
But it is safe to go out there and play an NFL game. Oh, all right. Your reaction when we come back. At Edward Jones, we believe rich is about taking care of what gives your life meaning.
