The gift of eternal life is unmerited, meaning we don't earn it through our actions. This concept is rooted in Christian doctrine and is a central tenet of the Christian faith.

Welcome to The Daily Platform from Bob Jones University. Today we're continuing a study series based on the creed that students recite each day in chapel services, which is a summary of the doctrines of our Christian faith.
Today's sermon will be preached by Jason Ormiston, a professor in the School of Religion. He'll be teaching us about the gift of eternal life. It's hard for us to put our arms around that concept. Also, we do realize that a lot of people have made a lot of money talking about what heaven is going to be like. So I want to try to unpack that for you in as realistic of a way as we possibly can.
