You have ordained strength,
Because of Your enemies,
That You may silence the enemy and the avenger.”

This is the Truth Network. Welcome to the Christian Car Guy Radio Show.

I say this calls for action and now! Baby Power, you might have heard that today on a Christian Car Guy show. I love the idea of baby power, don't you, Bob? Absolutely.

Alright, well we got it going on and of course, you know, you heard the Beach Boys with... Oh, that was actually Ronnie and the Daytonas with 409, but it was the Beach Boys with 409. Just to give you an idea of some power, but I cannot identify the babies, but one was crying, one was laughing. I don't know if you've ever given it much thought, but how powerful is a baby's cry or a baby's laugh? Like, what kind of stupid human tricks can you see people do in order to get a baby to laugh? Oh, people act incredibly.

I'm as guilty as anybody. Oh, I know, I know. I have a granddaughter that's like 6 million. I mean, when she starts laughing, it's just the greatest thing ever. But by the same token, when they cry, you know, what kind of stupid human tricks? I don't know if you remember, you know, your first child or whatever it may be that what it, you know, it just wouldn't stop. And, you know, whether you took it for a ride in the car, so many different things that you attempted in order to, you know, help them out. I didn't realize I had baby whispering powers. You know, I've always been attracted to kids, but we took a friend of ours newborn with us out to eat one night. And she was just beside herself. Everybody in the crowd had held her and tried to get her to calm down and, you know, quit crying. And then all of a sudden I was the last one in line and I got a hold of her. Boop!

Right sleep. You know, I don't know if it was just timing or powers of mind. I am not surprised by that.

I'm a kid's kid. No, I'm sure that's true. I'm sure that's true. So, you know, today's show you may know in Psalms 8-2 it says, Out of the mouth of babes and nursing infants you have ordained strength because of your enemies, that you may silence the enemy and the avenger. Like, that's interesting, right? That out of the mouth of babes, you may have heard that all your life. I know I have, but I don't know that I ever thought about it in the context of what Psalms 8-2 says because of your enemies.

It's going to silence them? And out of the mouth of babes and nursing infants? There's a lot there.

There's a huge amount there, as you may guess, but I'm going to get into that shortly. But maybe you know more the way that Jesus quoted it, which he did right after, in context, right after he cleared the temple. And it says that the babies in the temple, and you know that the temple had a bunch of babies because, you know, they came in there on the eighth day to get circumcised, or they came in on the eighth day. In other words, it was not unusual at all, and Moses actually commanded that babies come into the temple, and so they were babies. And these babies were praising God according to, you know, what was being said right after that. And of course, the Sadducees and the Pharisees were pretty upset about Jesus clearing the temple and all this. And they're, you know, hearing all these babies and praising God. And Jesus said to them, do you hear what they're saying? He said, have you never read out of the mouth of babes in nursing infants, you have perfected praise. Isn't that interesting?

Jesus quoted it, but different than, right, the way that it said that ordained strength. So, you know, there's just a question right there. But as you're thinking about that, maybe you have experienced it. Like, what kind of story can you think of? We would love for you to call 866-348-7884, 866-348-7884.

I'll give you an example. My youngest daughter, Mariah, my oldest child, Robbie, played basketball a lot. And, you know, we used to travel with these AAU teams he played with. And one time, I'll never forget it, we were in Raleigh eating breakfast, getting ready for a game.

We're all out of town, you know, and a bunch of people sitting at the table. And we, you know, offer the blessing before we eat. And when we're all done, Mariah must have been about three or four at the time. And we looked up and she says, daddy, do you know why I had my eyes open during the prayer? And I thought, hmm, you know, because you could tell on your little brother. You know, all the things that came through my mind, I was like, no, honey, why did you have your eyes open during the prayer?

And she said some words that I will never, ever forget because out of the mouth of babe, she said, so I could see God. Ooh. Ooh. Right? Right? Like, I've never forgotten that and I never will. I mean, it's a cherished moment in my life. Like, she had, isn't that a beautiful thing that when you're praying? Very beautiful thing. Are you trying to see God? Yeah. How about your story?

866-348-7884, 866-348-7884. Well, you know I love Hebrew, those people who know me well and know that I love words. Well, very fascinatingly, I love words. And in Hebrew, you know, it's a picture of language. And so the idea of strength and crying are greatly related in that two of the three letters in crying are the same letters that are in the word strength. I'm just saying.

So baby power, I'm just saying. There's something there. And you may remember there's some pretty famous crying that goes on in the book of Genesis. One was that Abel's blood cried out from the ground. God heard it. And God heard the crying that came out of Sodom and Gomorrah, right?

It was part of the reason that he, and he said, I can't bear this crying. Well, so I could see, you know, in those two instances, you can see how God spelled the word cry. You know, because in looking at Hebrew, and obviously he dictated it to Moses, you're seeing how does God spell the word cry? Well, he spells power backwards.

Isn't that fascinating, right? But then let me explain power to you in Hebrew as best I can, because when I explain this, I can feel it, not just see it. And by the way, it's a very, very important, extremely important word in English as it is in Greek. But you might remember that when Jesus went up in the cloud, and we're talking about in the book of Acts, that you would receive power to be his witness.

This is a very important cry when you think about it. You're going to need this power. The Holy Spirit will come upon you so that you will receive this power. Well, the word power, the first letter is what we call an ion, and it's easy to remember because E-Y-E spells eye, and the ion is a letter that actually is a picture of eyes. And it means that somewhat from a standpoint of vision. Okay? And so when you look at the letter, if you could picture letter Y with me for just a minute, a big capital Y, you see it's got two stems on it, and then it's connected to one line.

Well, your eyes are connected, two of them, to your optic nerve, which is just one optic nerve, but both eyes are connected, so you end up with one vision. But it came from two different perspectives. Are you following me so far? That's deep, but I'm still in.

You're in, okay. So here's the letter I in, right? And so you get the idea that it's a vision. And if we could just see through Jesus' eyes, right, this would be amazing, or through God's eyes, however you want to put that. The idea of vision, you know, without a vision the people perish, and so the word power, you know, begins with this idea of some type of vision. Right? Now, what are they looking at, these eyes?

There you go. And that's the part that blows my mind. The seventh letter, and this is no accident, right, because seven's a pretty powerful number, as you may know.

The seventh letter in the Hebrew alphabet is the letter Zion, it's spelled Z-A-Y-I-N. But that letter, it represents to an extent the reflection of something, but the reflection of something almost like a memory. You might remember Jesus said in the Last Supper, do this in remembrance of me. So when you are getting a vision that you are turning your heart, just as you remember, what you're really doing is you are now getting your eyes clearly on Jesus.

Which means they have to come off of something else that they're probably on, in my case, more than they need to be, on myself, right? And so when you get this vision of remembering God, right, and you're reflecting God, that's when you got power. See, isn't that fascinating? That is extremely fascinating, and very deep.

And yeah, it's a beautiful thing. So we got baby power, we need your stories, 866-348-7884, 866-34-TRUTH, we'll be right back. You're listening to the Truth Network and truthnetwork.com Baby power today.

I do love it. Baby power on the Christian Car Guys show. When did you hear something out of the mouth of babes that just rattled around in your brain, just made an impact on your life? I would love to hear your story. 866-348-7884 is the number to call in and give that story. 866-348-7884. We got Brian is in High Point, North Carolina. Brian, you're on the Christian Car Guys show. Good morning.

Hi, good morning, Robbie. I have a story of something that my son said to me at a very critical moment that not only resonated with me with power, but it was one of those moments that just stunned me. I was like, what?

What did you say? And it was something that I really needed to hear. And if you'll indulge me for a minute, there's a little bit of a backstory to this, and I'm going to edit the details because I want to be respectful because I'll just start with we were going to adopt a child. It was our plan to adopt a child from Southwest Asia.

I'm not going to say that the country or the child's name because she still lives in the area and her family may even be listening. But anyway, we had we brought her over on a medical visa and under the guarantee of a nonprofit that guaranteed the hundreds of thousands of dollars that she needed in medical care for some very catastrophic medical conditions that were all life threatening. And over the course of about a year, a little less than that, the the medical foundation basically is almost as soon as she got here, disappeared on us. I think the moment she saw an American doctor, they began to realize how much the care was actually going to cost.

And they just kind of disappeared on us. And we started paying for things out of pocket as best we can or could. And when we ran out of money, I, you know, it violates every financial principle we had. But we started taking out credit cards and maxing them out just to keep her with seizure medicine and other things that she needed. And we were about to lose our house. And by this time, the people at the hospital where she was getting her treatment had put us in touch with a social services caseworker. And they got some refugee care for her and which alleviated us from having to pay anything else. But we were about to lose our house because we had gotten so deep that we couldn't keep up with the mortgage payments.

And the social services worker says, Look, this is not helpful for her if she ends up homeless, we've got to place her somewhere else. And, and I had felt like I'd blown it. And one day, I was thought I was at home by myself, my wife had gone out, and I thought everybody went with her. So I went up to my room, and I was just broken. I started not just crying, but wailing to Lord, like, Lord, forgive me, I've blown it. I didn't, I didn't hit the target. I, you know, and I started to cry, Don't throw me away.

Don't, you know, and, of course, theologically, I know that he won't. But in that moment, I felt worthy of being thrown away because I felt like, what's going to happen to her? You know, at that moment, my boy who's, I don't know, five or six at the time, pushes the door open, and he puts his little hand because I'm kneeling at my chair on my reading chair. And he sees me crying. He said, Why are you crying? I'm just really sad right now.

I'm going to try to say this without breaking up because it's still so heavy for me. He puts his little hand on and I should tell you that my boy has autism, so which made it even that much more profound in the moment. He puts his little hand on my back and he says he stoops down and almost with a talking whisper, he says, Yeah, John six thirty seven, says he who comes to me, I will in no way cast out. And then he then asked me this cast out mean throw away because he must have heard me begging God not to throw throw me away.

So this cast out mean throw away. And I said, Yeah, he says, Well, now, you know, he won't. And that was the end. That was the end of it.

Like, you know, five year old little boy with autism reminded me of the word of God that said he who comes to me, I will no way cast out. And I needed that moment. I needed to hear that in that moment because I just felt like I had let this little girl's whole world implode. And, you know, things weren't. Oh, yeah.

And there's moments that I'll never forget as long as I live. Oh, who would? I mean, how how did your job? How did how did your son know John? I mean, how did he know that Bible verse?

You know, I really don't know. I mean, one of the advantages that he has with his autism is that his mind is like that crap. Once you tell him something or once he learns something, he never forgets it. Now, of course, we read the Bible at home. We you know, he was involved in Awana as a little boy, you know, and but and then, of course, we you know, especially when the kids were little, we associated with lots of people who were even stronger in the word than us because we didn't come to Christ as young people. My wife and I, we we were saved rather late in our adult life. So we knew we needed the help of people who had grown up around the word of God.

I can only imagine that it was at one of these places because it's to my best knowledge, it's not one of the verses that we studied together. You know, and I think the miracle of all that is clearly if you don't see the hand of God on that story, Brian, I don't know. Oh, for sure. I mean, I was I was in a really bad way. You know, I don't really want to get into the details, but I really felt like I had really not only blown my calling, but maybe failed this little girl. I was so afraid of what might happen to her because, you know, there there were attempts early on from the medical foundation to. And I think that's one of the other reasons is because they they wanted to do a surgery that. They want to, you know, I really don't want to be too detailed. Brian, I hate we got to go to a break, but I really would cherish if you would stay with us for a minute, because I have some other things I would just want to run by you as you tell that story.

That just really totally blows my mind. I'm so grateful for your call. Grateful for Mary Kay, who's been hanging on. We're going to get to you to Mary Kay. And we got your story. Don't forget to call us.

866-348-7884. You're listening to the Truth Network and Truth Network dot com. Baby Power today on the Christian Car Guy show.

Oh, my goodness. If you didn't get to hear Brian's story in the second segment, you have got to go back and get the podcast. It's one of the most amazing, beautiful stories we've heard.

Well, we get so many here that it sometimes blows my mind. It definitely is blowing my mind today. Brian's story, if you didn't get to hear it, by all means come back and listen. It was about a fairly tragic story of an adoption of a young girl that had some really difficult things from Asia that needed to be medically repaired. And the tremendous amounts of debt that Brian fell under, which caused him to actually lose the child, but at the same time almost lose his house. And then a young son who came as the mouth of babes with some words from John 637, which, you know, those who come into the Lord's hands, he will, for come to him, will be no wise cast out. So, Brian, are you still with me?

Yes, sir. The thing that occurred to me as I listened to your story is the way you reflected God, that you in no wise cast out this girl, no matter, you know, what kind of personal debt or what you had to give up, your family gave up in order to literally, you know, give her quality of life and the things that I don't know, you know, what all medically had to happen. And I love the way you respected her and her family in handling that. But have you ever saw that aspect of that verse as well, that you were reflecting God in such a way with the way you were handling the situation, and in no way did you want to lose her?

I'm actually choked up to hear you say that because no, I never even thought of that. I just, I just couldn't do that to her. You know, I mean, there were people on all sides pressuring me like, you know, you got to send her back. And I'm like, I'm not sending her back. I would rather die than send her back, you know, and I didn't know what to do or where to turn. And there's a very faithful brother in Christ who helped get her on the hospital's refugee program so that we could start to pay for her immediate needs. It didn't go back and reimburse us for any of what we had spent, but at least I knew moving forward, whoever she was going to be with, I knew that she would be able to get her health care. And, you know, she had three or four operations in the year or so that she was with us that, you know, where I would have to imagine I'm not a physician, and I'm certainly not a physician in the discipline that she was most in need of.

But I have to believe that those surgeries were life saving or at least, um, surgeries that provided for her safety so that, you know, just everyday life didn't have to be a threat, you know, to her survival. Right. But I never thought about myself in the role the way that you've just asked them. But I'm so thrilled that you said that because, you know, especially for men, I think we trudge through life and men of faith.

I think it's natural for us to always think, man, I'm blowing it. I'm missing the mark. I'm not good enough.

Right. But isn't that the great message of the gospel is no, you're not good enough and you'll never be good enough. But if you let the power of Christ flow through you, that will be good enough for you.

And the atonement of Christ is for you and through you, not just for you, but it flows to others through you. So since I've got you right a second and I just have another couple of words for you. I couldn't help it, you know, because the whole reason I became so attracted to this verse in the 8th Psalm was the fact that it was babies and nursing infants.

And when I looked carefully into those words, as you people that know me knew I would, that idea of nursing. When you when you think about what a baby is at the point that it's just born, all it is is hungry. All it is is thirsty.

Right. But it's also craving intimacy. And so by nursing, it's getting the whole package. It's getting what it needs to eat.

It's getting what it needs to drink. But it's also requires tremendous intimacy in order to eat and drink. Wow. Right. And so as we are babes in Christ, always. Right.

However that looks in order to stay at the word of God, like your son clearly did. Right. That he ingested that. He had it at his disposal. Yeah. Because it was one of the most miraculous moments of my life.

Right. He clearly had nursed. And when we go into the word of God with that thought of, you know, Papa, I am dying of thirst. I am dying of hunger. I need you. I need you right here. I need you right now.

I have dear friends that we've been in hospice all week with members of our church and and that's where you go. That's where you were that day. As you as you were bent over in that chair. You were at the great place of great intimacy with God and you were dying of hunger and dying of thirst.

And I don't know. It's just such a beautiful picture of what God has shown me all week for you to jokes. Honestly, Brian, I'm just like, oh, my. It's what it does to me every time I think of it, because of all the people he could have sent to me to reassure me.

He sent my little my little boy who has a disability. You know, it's just it's just so profound on so many levels and I almost don't ever talk about it anymore. Just because I don't want to cry in front of people, you know, but I guess, you know, on the phone with the guys on the radio gave me enough insulation that I didn't mind risking it. Believe me, crying is great strength. I can show you why. Well, my brother, you are awesome.

I am cannot tell you what what your call has meant to not just me, but I guarantee a whole lot of people out there can totally relate and you keep up the great work and we will talk to you soon. I promise. Please tell all the guys at Wednesday in the word that I miss you guys. I will do that.

I will do that. I know. I know, Stu, as you know. Thanks, Brian.

I do know that. God bless. Bye bye. God bless you, too, Robbie. Bye.

All right. We got Mary Kay Rath has been hanging on a long time. Mary Kay, you are on the Christian Car Guys show. Good morning. Good morning.

How do I follow that? That's tough shoes. She used to walk behind us. You know, I love in the hundred nineteen Psalm, it says, I will share my testimony before kings and not be ashamed. In other words, your story is always your story and it has great power in it because it's your story.

So, you know, share what you got. Well, I'm actually calling you as a follow up to a conversation you and I had earlier this week about a mama with six children who has a very great need for a vehicle. And I don't know how much you want me to tell you, but this mama walked out of a life of addiction in two thousand twenty two.

Six precious children ages 17 to four. She has she worked all every moment to care for those children. She has remained clean. The Lord entered her life in the fall of twenty two and said, you need to do better for yourself and your children. And she's never touched anything since.

She says she never even has the temptation to do it. God has worked in her life in the most profound way. I mentor women, women.

I, I have never seen this before. But anyway, she for the last two plus years, a group of friends from church have been driving her and her children, driving her to work and her children to school every day. And they're wearing out this group of friends. It's been a long journey of driving them. And she really does need her own vehicle to be able to get the children to the doctor appointments. And, you know, they're all different ages.

So it's all different schools and just special needs that two of the children have. So Mary Kay, we got to go to a break and we're going to keep you on because this is a really important need. But the bottom line of this is the Lord needs that a van that somebody is, you know, not in need of right now that you're going to trade or whatever. We need a seven pasture van for this lady.

This is an amazing story. Jesus labor love item. We'll be back with a whole lot more of baby power today. You're listening to the Truth Network and Truth Network dot com. Baby power today on the Christian Car Guys show. Oh, my goodness. We heard some stuff today.

If you didn't hear the first two segments or the second and third segments of the show, man, go back and get the podcast. I'm just telling you, we heard some baby power, didn't we, Bob? Absolutely. I mean, God is amazing.

It's just so amazing. Excited to hear about the rest of Mary Kay's. Yeah.

Yeah. So Mary Kay is calling in from here in Winston-Salem and there's a story of a mom with six children. And they desperately, I mean, desperately have been getting rides from the folks at Pinedale now, which is a church here in Winston-Salem, a family in Washington.

It's a wonderful church. Jerry Mathis, our Christian Body Shop guy is one of their Sunday school teachers and on all sorts of boards there. But anyway, they have been supporting this lady with rides and all this stuff for two years.

And so she's got six kids. We need a seven-pastor van. So if you know of anybody, know of a van, somebody that was thinking about donating it instead of, you know, again, the nice thing about the Jesus Labor Love, it's a ministry here at the Christian Car Guys show. And that ministry, if somebody donates the van, it will go to who you say.

In other words, if you want it to go to this lady with the six kids at Pinedale, that's who it will go to. And if it needs a little of this and that, we have the resources hopefully that people have donated to be able to fix it up somewhat. And so if you go to christiancarguy.com, you're going to see a place where you can donate a car or you can donate money or you, if you've got a need, you can apply for that need.

We need all of the above. In other words, the way the ministry works, we've got to have people with needs and we've got to have people with resources and we're kind of the middlemen of putting those together. And Mary Kay is telling the story of this wonderful lady, again, a child of God, sort of a newborn herself.

And she's kind of crying out there for help. And so, you know, would you prayerfully consider if you've got something like that or if you know somebody's got something like that, you just send them to christiancarguy.com. And that's the way we can meet that need, right Mary?

Yes, yes. I am, we have been prayerfully, fervently praying over this need for quite some time. We're waiting to see who's going to be the answer to that prayer. There you go. And again, you can pray with us. We wish you would. So, thank you so much Mary Kay.

I can't tell you how much I appreciate for the opportunity and I'm excited to see what God's going to do. He always comes through. He does.

In his time. Absolutely. Wonderful. God bless you. Have a great week. Thank you.

Thank you so much for calling. You too. You as well. Blessings to you. Same.

Bye bye. So we've got Mary Jay, Mrs. Jay. Oh, Mrs. Jay, what have you got for us on Baby Power? Have you got a baby story for us? Oh, do I have time to tell it?

If you've got time, you go for it. Okay, you know I'm a school bus driver. I know you are. So I'm finishing up one of the routes. I had one of my last students on the bus and he was like coming out of kindergarten until like first grade. And we always sing songs on the bus, like For the Children of Jesus, Love the Little Children, All the Little Children of the World. Different little things.

And I'm supposed to be doing that, but I always get those songs in. Good for you. Yeah, but this little boy said, you say I have something to tell you. I said, I said, okay, now I'm driving. And he said, well, wait till we get ready to stop at my stop. And I said, okay, so I'm stopping at a stop and get ready to let him off. And he said, I don't want you to get upset with me. I said, I won't get upset with you. He said, God told me to tell you, no matter how far you run, his love is going to meet you there.

No matter if you go to the north, east, south, and the west, no matter how far you run, his love is going to meet you there. And I was just floored. I said goodbye to him and hugged him and let him go. And I was like, and I cried like a baby. I was like, oh my God, because I was running from God from the ministry that he wanted me to do.

He was calling me to a deeper level in him. So that was like out of the mouth of faith. And I was like, wow, God really does care for all his children. He cares about everybody.

So much love there. And I wanted to share that and also if you can be in prayer with my mom, she's in the hospital with a blood clot. Her temperature has been going up and down. And she's in New Jersey. Remind me her name, Ms. J. Dorothy Keel.

She's in New Jersey and I'm not able to be there with her right now. Teal with a T or keel with a K? K-e-e-l. Keel. Yeah.

Like a ship's keel. She's going straight. All right. So, and it's Dorothy?

Dorothy Keel, yes. All right. Well, let's pray.

Before we run out of time, we want to get that done. So, Lord, we thank you so much for Dorothy. We thank you for Ms. J. And we certainly thank you for this child and his boldness to walk up and share what he felt like God told him to do, as we heard from Brian's son earlier. Lord, we thank you that you do ordain praise.

Silence is the enemy from little ones. And we're so grateful for the show today that you ordained and you strengthened us with. And so for Dorothy, Lord, Lord, she needs your power.

She needs your help. Lord, we pray that she would feel your strength, that your river of life would flow through every cell in her body and heal it and help her to come back to full strength, that she would be able to fulfill whatever purpose you have left for her. Lord, I thank you so much for Ms. J, her obedience to make this call, her obedience to her ministry. And I just pray that you would bless them all. Certainly bless the mom with the six children and this opportunity for this van. Lord, we pray that you would meet this need in some way.

It doesn't have to be through us, however you want to meet it. Lord, we just pray that she would have the ability to take care of her family, that she would see that came from you. And just like the words that Ms. J got from that little boy that this lady that needs the vehicle will be strengthened and know that you by no ways cast us out of your hands. Lord, you're so awesome. We thank you. In Jesus' name, amen. Amen. I love you. I am, I just, isn't that cool?

So I have to, I'm going to see if I can get this done quickly. I have one last story to tell. I taught special needs kids for many years, right, for over 20 at Calvary. And there was a boy that was in a wheelchair and he didn't have any skill to talk. And so quite often when I would teach, he would go into these noises that just were completely disruptive from my point of view. He would be like, ah, it sounded something like that. But it sounded actually like he was in intense pain. And he would be screaming all the while I'm trying to teach those who could understand words, although I use sign language and all sorts of different ways to teach the group I had, a lot of them were nonverbal like Joshua.

But I have to admit that, you know, I did not have great faith, Bob. It annoyed me tremendously. And I thought that Joshua was one of the most unhappy people I ever because he was always making these noises.

And I thought he was in severe pain. So we always had a Christmas cantata kind of thing where we would show what we learned for the year. And it was a beautiful thing. Everybody should have seen the joy that these folks would have when they did that. You came one year. That's right. You saw it.

I don't know if you were there that year. But anyway, this particular year, we're in the middle of a lesson and Joshua starts his like that. And his mom says, Joshua, it's not your turn. And when she said that, if I could have crawled underneath the chair somewhere because I realized, oh, my goodness, he's not in pain. He's praising God. He's not in pain.

He wants to share. And I never you know, you just you realize how arrogant. Right. I was. Unfortunately, Joshua went to be the Lord and a couple of years after that. But I've always thought Joshua was a giant killer. So the next Sunday, I was like, I started to teach. I said, Joshua, it's your turn. And he would do it. And I all of a sudden realized that that noise, it was praise.

It was not what it was saying. Thank you, Miss J. You always are such a thrill to me. Thank you, Bob. This was a fun show. And thank you all for your calls, Brian. Oh, my goodness. And just a wonderful stuff today.

Right, Bob? I've been a little quiet, but there was plenty to listen to. I learned a lot. When I close my mouth, my ears open wider. Remember, slow down. Jesus walked everywhere he went and got it all done in 33 years. Thanks for listening.
