I just wanna be counting stars with you. I don't know if you know, but I wanna tell you so. You're the wisest funny one that I'll ever, ever know. I don't know about you, but I love us as the two.

Find me a wild road and I'll name it after you. You took all the lonely days and you made them sing. You turned off the alarm so they don't ring. I don't know where we are in the grand scheme of things, but I just wanna be hugging you tonight. Hugging you?

Wow. That song makes me cry the more I understand the lyrics of it. God blows my mind all the time. Bob is like, wow, how could we have this? He gave me that song this morning and it's a song to sing, believe me.

And so yes, the show is called Hugging You. And the reason for all that is quite a story, really. It's so remarkable.

It just blows my mind. So you may know that about a year and a half ago, God put it on my heart to memorize the 119 Psalm. And as I went through that Psalm and studied, I actually did podcasts on every verse of the 119 Psalm and I did memorize it. And I could see clearly that the Psalmist's heart, David's heart was about these statutes. The idea of that he wanted to be able to follow these statutes, but obviously he himself didn't think he quite had the knack of that thing, because he asked throughout the Psalm continually, teach me thy statutes. If I could only follow your statutes. And even when you get down into the final section of the top section of the 119 Psalm, he says, my lips will utter praise when you've taught me your statutes.

Okay. And so I came away from that study of like, God, I need what David needs, right? I need to know what in the world is a statute.

And what's at the heart of what David was seeking there? And the word statute has only two letters in it, which should make it easy, but it's very difficult. The only two letters in the word statutes are het, which has to do with your union. It's the letter that has to do with us uniting with Christ, two becoming one. And the second letter is a kuff. And that letter kuff has to do with proximity, how close you are to God. So you put them together and you can't help but see that it's kind of a kuff. I mean, it's kind of a hug, right?

A het and a kuff, and you can hear it. It's a hug. All right.

It's right in the sound and it's always been there. Okay. So fast forward to 2023 and I'm praying because I finished, after I finished the 119th Psalm, God had me go study, and I know why, the Song of Solomon, just simply to understand dalet vav dalet, what a beloved is. And because in order to hug, you gotta love.

And love is a critical aspect of statutes, right? And so after that, and it was just a joy to study the Song of Solomon, beginning 2023, I'm like, God, where are we going now? Because He says, order your steps, order my steps in your words. So I'm like that completely, like, God, where are we going from here? And He says, I want you to study the book of Abakkukukukukukukuk. And I'm like, what?

I mean like a minor problem like dude. I mean like why I mean that book. I've read it It's a bit depressing. You know like what um But he says now Robbie Work with me study the book of a bacchic. Oh my soul. Oh my soul So let me just start off by telling you that the word haback ik means a god-hug on steroids, okay? It just is there's so many cuffs and it starts with a hat and you can hear it how back it kick, okay?

I mean it. That's what that's what's all over it right But you may know that that in the second chapter There's this very famous verse that Paul quotes all the time That says the soul of him that's lifted up is not upright in him, but the righteous will live by faith And as you begin to really see where Habakkuk is going with this not coincidentally in my opinion the book Ends on the cuff verse in other words you go to the last chapter. Which is three and in the 19th verse of the Third chapter of a back kick is the cuff verse just is okay, not by any coincidence, okay? And it's after a back kick explains that all that mud the stalls can be empty there can be no no sheep No fruit no nothing And I'm still like I'm totally devoted to you And he says you're gonna make my feet like feet to the feet of the deer you're familiar with it but the idea is finally Habakkuk has thrown everything out the window and now he is going to live by faith and So at this point in time he can get his namesake He can get the Habakkuk.

Okay? It's just it blows my mind it blows my mind, so we got a huge announcement today on the Christian car guys show We're gonna share here shortly. I've got dr. Carson with us. We're gonna be talking about that announcement I got my good friend Bob with us And I want to tell you that I put that song by Tom Rosenthal which is clearly a God song if you wonder who he wants to hug.

It's God okay It and it says it clearly in that one verse But anyway that song is it at my website today as well as the big announcement But as you might guess today's show is brought to you by the Hebrew letter cuff why? Because we're trying to get closer to God now yes, I would love to hear your hug story But I got to share two first, and I know I'm not giving Bob and in dr. Carson much time But I want to get through this because it's important to me. Okay. There's two Gigantic will come hug stories that come to my mind and my wife will tell you that Robbie is not a good hugger But Bob is by the way So anyway, I I taught special needs for over 20 years at Calvary and our church And there was a young man by the name of Ryan and Ryan was is Autistic and just one of the most wonderful piece that if you ever want a hug you need a hug from Ryan because Ryan can He can give you a back it kick.

Okay. That's what Ryan can do. He's gifted at it and It just a jolly fellow, and we just always have the best time but one day for whatever reason he got upset and he took his mom's keys and he threw him in the supply closet and when he did they shut the door and it locked and When it locked we didn't have a key so we had to send away for the administrator to come get the key to open up The door and when she put that lock the key in that lock Ryan went absolutely nuts pushed her away from the door with her key and And then turned towards his mom and it looked like he was fixed to jump her So I said stop Ryan and when I did he threw me to the ground like I was a rag doll Like nothing and he he turned he had this, you know a superhuman strength you get when you're and he he was Enraged and I was like man.

This dude is strong. He's a little guy I'm six foot five at this point in time 260 pounds He throws me down like a rag doll and he's heading for his mom and when he does his mom looks at him dead in the eye and says does somebody need a hug if someone need a hug as Sweet as she could possibly say those words and I watched Ryan completely collapse Melted Wow in tears and fell into his mother's arms Hmm you see when he let it all go He could get that hug, right So The second hug story I want to tell you is it and for those of you know me Well know that I had cancer and underwent chemotherapy treatment was miraculously healed no doubt God did all that. Okay, but my wife and I went to celebrate on that trip by going on Jeep Jamboree and going enjoying the mountains in October of 1996 and At the end of that trip, we were supposed to get out and all unlock our hubs. And so as we did that My son asked for a root beer So I stepped to the back of the Jeep to get a root beer for him and the guy uphill from me had failed To put his Jeep in park or in gear or set the emergency brake none of the above and so his Jeep Unbeknownst to me because my back was to it was starting to roll towards me.

But then I heard this crackling noise. I'll never forget Your leg It's coming. Yeah And you might guess this has to do with a hug it will but I want you to be thinking about your God Hug story and getting ready to call in at eight six six three four eight seven eight eight four eight six six Three four truth and we got more with Bob and dr. Carson and a big announcement. I just you know, today's show is hugging you on a Christian car guys show, but You know, I want you to know that you know, the wisest funny one that I could ever know, isn't he? I mean if you have a relationship with Christ, you know, he has a phenomenal sense of humor I mean if it's just part of the experience, right and then he says Right. He turned off all the alarms You know, he took off took away our loneliness and turned it into a song right and then he turned off all the alarms Well, he did that with his blood, right?

All those alarms that everything ain't okay. It can all go away Right. Yes, you accept the blood of Christ as your cover and Certainly as you into your hands, I commit my spirit You get to that point and you can get the God hug. Okay, so when we left our hero Robbie He was crushed by the Jeep coming down the hill and I did not get my left leg up I got my right leg up on the bumper, but I didn't get my left leg and I Won't go into all the grody details, but it was nasty and it was horrible and I spent two years in a wheelchair as a result However, when you would think when my leg was literally, you know almost pulverized That that would hurt He would think that that would be excruciating But what happened was as soon as I realized what had happened. I just cried and said Oh God And he came And the way I've described it for years and years anybody's ever heard my testimony of what happened that day is he gave me a God Hug I was completely enveloped Completely enveloped in this love like it was unbelievable like I can't even describe I can't even describe it was it was the best of times even though it was the worst of times because There I was I was completely being hugged and the poor guy that hit me. He was standing over the top of me screaming I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry He literally is losing it over the top of me as my leg is laying out there, you know Everybody's you know freaking out because all the people on the jamboree had come and they knew they couldn't get me to the hospital Anytime quick as to where we were and God just gave me this to show you that he's got this tremendous sense of humor I just looked up at him and this did not come from me. I just said dude, how's your insurance? Just it welled up in me like there it was and I just said it right and it completely calmed everybody down And everybody that was all freaked out like well if he can tell jokes, right?

Right? Then there you have it right that there there is and and That's good. Um, I you know, I've never ever forgotten that at all that went into that But the point i'm trying to make is like when you are totally when you empty yourself of you And you say come on god Then you can get in the hibaka kick kick kick kick kick Well, i've heard you tell that story several times, but I have never heard the insurance line And it is so you You know to be you even when your leg is sitting there, uh, you're still trapped between the two vehicles, right?

No at this point in time. They they pulled them off and I'd fall into the ground. Okay, but uh You know for you to be able to be you in that situation Right, it's you know, it's why it's a gift but You know, there you go. And so i'm i'm wondering for you, you know, when did you experience that where?

You let it all go and into your hands. Carson with us today is I couldn't be more happy and talking about a god hug for me I have never been to israel Um, but oh my goodness that's gonna change Lord willing january 15th.

Yes through the 23rd. Dr. Carson who you may know is is the I guess founder of date the word was the pastor um the campus pastor at liberty university for many many many many years and just Talk about somebody who has his scripture memorized. Oh my goodness Um, but can you imagine I I can hardly wait because his wife denita, which is absolutely a delight my wife tammy And I will be hosting this amazing adventure for 10 days and you can extend it for three into egypt if you would like But nonetheless, we're going to be there and all that information is right there at christiancarguy.com. It says holy land tour and Dr. Carson you have been many times and so i'm so excited give us a little taste of what they will taste Well, there's nothing like walking where jesus walked And you've heard about people you've heard about places you've read it in your bible But now you get to see it first hand You'll go on a boat on the sea of galilee i'll pray for a storm so that while you're out there you can Experience the wind and the waves and and we'll even ask you robbie to see if you can walk on water He'll take the test and step out by faith But we'll we'll have chances to again see a galilee we go to cesarea philippi where jesus says I will build my Church and we'll talk about how that's a great transition for him because everybody thought he was going to be a king But he's going to be a sacrifice and now we're going to have a church age We're going to come down to the dead sea And you have a chance to float in it. It's Incredible and then buy a lot of mud that just makes your skin feel great And then we're going to go to jerusalem And we're going to go to the cross And we're going to go to the empty tomb and you're going to get to see Where scripture tells he is risen and we believe this just might be the place That he rose so I can't wait to be with you. We have an anonymous caller this morning so Anonymous, we would love to hear your your god hug story Good morning I don't know where to begin. I I I know that he's been with me all my life and especially looking back or He'll put in into my memory. Um You know, i'm realizing that he was there all along And uh, there was many uh motorcycle many car accidents. There was just many other things that there's no There's no way that um Um, he was not not only hugging me He was holding me and um But uh, I had uh, 66.

Um, uh turned yesterday. I was like um I uh, I feel more alive and full of um Just peace That truly passes all understanding. Mm-hmm. And uh, I have a a wonderful church And uh, oh, I must gave myself away, right? um but uh one of the pastors Has prayed that over me that I will Feel the peace that passes all understanding and uh, I have and I think it's just so cool It's just so cool to be this age And to know that it wasn't all in vain Or that it wasn't a waste And that um, he's actually helping me to help other people So that's just so cool.

It is no anyway. Oh, well, no, I I'd love that and I You know, um I'm trying to think of curtis's last name worked with john eldredge wrote the book sacred romance and the idea of that is god is always wooing us like But every once while, you know, you're right. He hugged me who knows how many nights right? And you couldn't be more right about that But at some point we know yeah. Yeah, right. But the but what he said is occasionally he lets you know, it's him And so he sends you whatever it is.

Do you go? Oh, it's you And so i'm wondering for for you Who how did you know? There's not knowing and there's not not knowing yet I I um I mean, no, he's always there And it's not it's not been like this.

It's like I have to kind of try and push myself so I don't come off like cuckoo sister, you know, I but uh I never I mean this is just the taste of it This is just a taste just a taste and I get fearful the things going on in the world In these interesting days And confused. Um, yeah, but I know who holds the world Is that where that is? Peace his hugs. Oh, yeah, that's wonderful. Well, thank you Oh, i'm so grateful for your call and your courage to call.

All right. Bye It really amazes me what she said about you know, some of it you didn't Realize it at that time, but there's a young man in my life that was in a horrific accident And uh, they were on interstate 26, which is between 77 and 95 headed to charleston And the back tire blew out on the motorcycle. Oh, and you know how You know how busy that road is.

It's the busiest interstate in the world. They wrecked it, you know, 65 miles an hour on a motorcycle Uh, it was like uh, the girl with him was laid in the grass not hardly a scuff on her He had some abrasions but And he was I think he was still in the road And the fact that you know, they weren't run over there was no traffic around at that time I guess But you know and for a long time he didn't realize it but just recently this young man has uh Uh come to the realization that uh, yeah This is a little something for your life that uh, you know And the fact that she mentioned that you know, some of the things didn't come to her right away and uh that she realized it later Um, it just really rung a bell for me Yeah, i'd love that idea of the sacred romance that oh Oh, oh, that was that was you Oh, oh, oh that was you dr. Carson what comes to your mind Well, I I was just thinking about the footprints in the sand and uh He's hugging us. Oh, yeah, because we think we're alone And then you look and you realize there's only one set of footprints. Well, that's because he's holding us And uh at those critical moments of life where uh, there's so much pain unknown Yeah, we're scared The fear factor is as about as high as it can get and uh, he makes himself known That his greatest promise Is his promise of his presence? And i'm loving what i'm hearing from you and it's just not his presence, but he literally hugs us hugs us and uh There's a number of friends right now I could tell a lot of different stories of going through tragedies right now a wife Mother just died giving birth to twins. Oh my And and you want to just lord?

Draw near and that's what it says. Uh, he draws near to the brokenhearted, right? He doesn't run from Him, he draws near and you may not even at this I don't even know what to do, but he draws near and he hugs And he comforts And he sustains So yeah, um, that's spectacular What a savior we have So this morning, you know We have the jesus labor love car repair for single moms and widows and I got a wonderful email Which is always wonderful like it was a single mom and somebody had told her about our ministry, right?

And I don't know how she got my email. Maybe she found it the website wherever she got it You know, i'm just delighted that she you know, she told me her story which was you know enough to make you want to cry that that there was a She was a single mom and not because she lost her husband to death. It was she lost her husband and um and and and lots of needs in a car that You know, she'd hit a deer and because of that this and that and anyway, it was just I was just like man what an honor it is that that god would Say hey reach out to this guy, right? And and she just wanted some advice on what to do with the car I don't know that she wanted actually help from the ministry, but we certainly offered that but then you know, I got a chance to pray for her and and respond and and all that and I think You know in its own way when you can be a god hug for somebody else, right?

that you know That that you know, we talked about this yesterday and i'm glad we we got a minute to talk about it. Dr Carson, I talked about that if jesus And and I found it this morning in a back kick um 3 19 Because I said, you know, and i'd been thinking about this if jesus said if you love me you'll obey my commandments Does he obey my commandments because he loves me, right? I mean, I know that sounds really prideful But it I wonder if it is my pride that makes that hard to hear Okay And so I began to study it because I looked at two words What does obedience look like in hebrew and and where does the word commandment look like in hebrew? So obedience in hebrew is shamma. You've probably heard the word before because when they They quote the shamma what they're saying is, you know right lord, you could probably quote the whole thing for me, but The point of it is is you're listening Okay, obedience starts with listening.

Yes, right. Are you listening to me? Well, does jesus listen to you? Yes.

Oh my goodness. Does he listen to you? Okay I mean nobody listens to you like jesus listens to you. Just let me tell you that. Okay, so a So does he obey my command from the word of shamma?

He shamas me. There's no doubt that he does that And so then the word commandment in hebrew is mithva a very familiar word for a lot of people. There's 613 of them Right, you know But what it really means to do what's right according to the word of god? Yes, so yes, will jesus do what's right to me according to the word of god And after he hears me, yes count on it You can bank on it.

Oh, yeah, I remember I remember and there's tremendous strength There's tremendous strength when you remember what did jesus say at the lord's supper do this in what? in remembrance of me So bob, what are you remembering in your crazy life of god hoax? Well, there's so many things and so many of them. I have I have mentioned here before And um, you know the way he held me up during the fire and the way yeah he carried me through rob's death and everything and and just Made it so so so apparent that he was right there But just a little quick one this week. I was doing something galactically stupid. Uh, you've heard It was intergalactically stupid because you weren't out in the ocean. I'm not out in the york space. Yes, but uh, we were just We've got a little project going on and i've got some equipment coming and there was That it's going to take a bigger truck to get the equipment into where I need it to And there was one limb and it had been bothering me a long time sticking out over a driveway And uh, I was like, well, I won't do this while nobody is here.

I'll wait. Somebody's around to do this But I had the ladder up there on the limb looked it over real good and it looked like okay I'll cut that limb. It'll fall to the ground Everything will be fine. Well when this limb after Uh supervision had arrived I cut the limb the end of it hit the ground when it did it catapulted into the Ladder, I was standing on you know, eight nine feet in the air It swipes the ladder out from under me And I fall to the ground with a running chainsaw That I had tossed over to the side. I didn't land on the chainsaw landed on the ladder a little bit But it was pretty much knocked away from me uh, i've got a small bruise on my rib a little bit of a sore wrist Sore wrist, but it's like he just grabbed me laid me on the ground bruised me a little uh got up and split firewood for an hour and a half and uh just Just you know, I was very sore the next day, but I could have been seriously seriously seriously Yeah, and somebody heard this story today that's thinking about cutting that limb, right? Yeah, you next time it all makes perfect sense until yeah next time i'll cut down the whole tree and not be on a ladder but It was a it was a bad decision But it was a good decision to wait till I had somebody around to call nine one one, uh, nine one one if needed and um I just felt like he he rescued me and and I could have been serious I could have felt the chain saw could have landed, you know No under me me land on it. Oh, yeah, you know, there's just so many ways that could have gone absolutely wrong and uh, I finally got around to uh sharing that with my wife last night because you know, she's She's all the time like you be careful up there. I said, oh i'm just cutting the little ones, you know, and uh, And see that's the beauty of coming with dr. Carson. I to israel, right? You get to find out You get to meet my wife, right?

You've heard all these stories on the christian car guy show and I know you're wondering How did somebody keep him out of the ditch for 35 years? I mean you're wondering about that. I know you have and and like man those who know tammy and dr. Carson, you know her Right, this is going to be fun with our two wives. It's going to be a blast. Um Just the fact that we're going to be able to fellowship And make new friends and I hope you're going to the website and checking this out. We're going to see how solomon talked about the uh hills of gilead right we're going to see that how the woman's hair is curly, um, We're going to have that time Where we're just going to not only see about talking about people and talk about places But we'll give principles And for instance, one of the ones i'm going to give real quick is when you're in israel There's three bodies of water sea of galilee jordan river dead sea Sea of galilee takes in water gives out water takes in gives out goes down to the dead sea Dead sea takes in it's dead when you take in and give out you are fresh and alive These are things you'll learn if you go with us to israel. You're going to have robbie teaching hebrew I'm going to be teaching the bible. We'll bring your bible to life. That's why I want you to go with us I'm told it's like 3d and the neat thing is that you've taken this trip many times And so you've got the the guides and the right accommodations and all these other things straight. Yeah You know, we're not going to we're not going to keep you in the hotel long We want you out there seeing it and experiencing it and bringing your bible and we're going to bring the bible to life It'll be january the 15th through the 24th And go to the website and check it out Yeah It's I I can tell you that it is definitely a dream come true for tammy and I in so many different ways We prayed about this and and for this opportunity and especially with you and denita because You know tammy and denita get along really well and and you know, I don't know if you've ever met my wife But she's four foot 11. Absolutely. I just told bob his he's 7 22 He's got second samuel's 7 22 that speaks of the greatness of god Right, there you go.
