This is the Truth Network. She's real fine, my four. She's real fine, my corner. Night, my fault. Welcome to the Christian Car Guy Radio Show.
this calls for action and now.
Well good morning, good morning, good morning. This is Michael Zwick sitting in for Robbie Dillmore, the Christian car guy. Robbie is having some fun at the beach. And this morning, we are going to be discussing. Wearing your seat belt.
And how does that tie in? To Jesus Christ and loving Jesus.
So we'd love your calls at 866-34 TRUTH, 866-348-7884. But, you know, when I was thinking about this this morning, one of the things that I was looking at. Is some of the statistics. You know, we talk about cars a lot, and we like to look at the engines, and we like to look at how fast they go, and this, that, the other. But the truth is, is that one of the most important parts of driving your car is wearing your seatbelt.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, They estimate that The seatbelts saved 20,443 lives in 2019 in a total of 457,578 lives. between nineteen sixty eight and twenty nineteen.
So You know, I heard it one time, I was watching a Netflix special. And on the Netflix special, the guy that I was watching, he said. You know, the truth is, he said that when we look at our lives, he said we can do so many good things. He said, but if we do one really bad thing, it can mess up our lives for a very long time or even forever.
So, for example, they interviewed people who were in prison. And they showed the people who had been there, and they said, Well, I really did some good stuff. But what I did was, I ended up killing somebody. And now, for the rest of my life, I have to pay the price.
Now, some people may even get the death penalty, but for a lot of them, they have to spend the rest of their lives rotting in prison because they made one bad decision. And so, what I'm here to tell you today is. Whatever you're doing with your life right now, whatever is going on in your life at this moment or right now, you could be making a lot of money, you could be sharing the gospel, you can be giving Bibles. But if you're riding down the road and let's say you're going too fast and Let's say you're not even going too fast. You just don't have your seatbelt on.
But if you're not willing to wear your seatbelt, Your life could be ended just like that.
Now, you could wear your seatbelt and you could still die. I'm not saying that doesn't happen, but the chances of you dying in a car wreck when you have a seat when you don't have your seatbelt on goes way, way up. And so, you know, not as it only.
Something that I can talk about, hey, as something that sounds good or as an experience. I've actually had my own experience with wearing a seatbelt and where I almost died because I almost didn't put the seatbelt on.
So November the 1st of 2011. I was driving around, and Robbie Dilmore and I have talked about this many times before. But I was over in Germanton, North Carolina, and I think it was Flat Shoals Road, if that's the name that I can remember. But I was driving around, and it was at night. There were no night lights on or anything like that.
They didn't have street lights that I remember. And so I was there, I was driving around, I was going pretty fast, and I remember going up a hill and I was listening to this station right here, the Truth Network. Right here out of Winston-Salem. And I was listening to a guy named Charles Stanley. And I was listening to him preach.
And all of a sudden, I was at the bottom of the hill, and I did not have my seatbelt on. And I heard a voice.
Now, I don't know if it was audible, but it might have been louder than that. But I heard a voice, and when I heard the voice speak to me, it said, you need to put your seatbelt on. I said, put my seatbelt on. And I was just about to put it on, and then I heard another voice, and it said, What, you don't trust God? And I said, no, I need to put my seatbelt on.
And so I put my seatbelt on. And when I put my seat belt on, I drove up to the top of the hill and I flew off the road. How many ever miles an hour it was, I'm not even going to say. And I went straight into a tree. And when I went into that tree, the tree split the car right to the windshield.
And I had a state trooper come by and he took the report, did all the stuff. And he said, Mike, he said, if you didn't have your seat belt on right now, He said that we would be flying you over to Baptist Hospital. In other words, you'd either be dead, or you'd be paralyzed, or you'd have some serious problems. Because that seatbelt saved my life in a sense. But really, the one who saved my life was the author of life, Jesus Christ Himself, when He spoke to me in my ear.
And he said, you need to put your seatbelt on. But see, the truth is, is that if you're listening to this right now, You don't need to wait until something like this happens. Mm-hmm. Wear your seatbelt every time. And we've got a Doug out of Greensboro, North Carolina.
Are you there, Doug? Yeah. And you've got a story as well, is that right? Um yeah, I have a couple. Go for it.
Well, you know, I was, I think I was 16 years old, and, you know, I had. Um new Camaro. which was uh it wasn't a high speed Camaro, but it was fast enough and Of course, you're being very stupid and driving and drinking and Long story short, you know, I ended up Totaling the car. I hit a house in the air, landed on top of another car. And there were five of us in the car.
And everyone in that car has met the Lord since then.
Some of them have actually. Going on to be with the Lord. But you know, God was just merciful to us. In that context. And I do believe, you know, we were.
I really don't know if we're wearing seatbelts or not, but I do know the mercy of God is with us. Uh you know, I'm just very thankful.
Well, thank God the mercy of God was with you then.
Now, you said they eventually came to know the Lord, everybody who was in that car, but I'm assuming it did. I'm sorry? Yeah, everybody in that car did. But I'm assuming at the time, they didn't know Jesus at that time. Is that right?
No, none none none of it. I think somebody may have been at going to church, but for the most part I don't think any of them. Any of them had a close walk on the Lord? No.
So was that a wake-up call for you, Doug? Yeah, it was. I actually, you know, I had, this was like. Free Jesus movement, probably 1968, somewhere in that area. You know, there was beginning to be a lot of talk, and we were starting to.
you know, consider things. other than just our our normal youth. And I had met a Christian girl who had been telling me about. Jesus and um you know so I was listening some but Yeah, it got it certainly got my attention and and everybody else's.
Well, you know, the Jesus movement, you know, you used to hear about it all the time. You don't hear about it as much anymore, Doug.
Now, did it start?
Now, what year were you born? I was 53.
Okay.
So, how old were you when you met the Lord? I was 17 or 18. I'm not, I don't remember the exact, but I think it was, I think I was 18.
So it was in the early 70s when you met the Lord.
Now, we've heard people talk about the Jesus movement. What was it like to actually live it? It was unlike anything that I've seen since. But I think what had happened was. The Lord wanted wanted his gospel to get out.
And I don't think the churches at that time were doing much in getting it out. I think they were certainly operating within the church. And so it was really unusual talking, you know, again about cars. I would thumb all over the East Coast and pick up people and tell them about the Lord. I remember this one guy picked me up one time and When I picked him up, he said, Good gosh, man.
He said, The last two people I picked up, all they want to talk about is Jesus. Unless you were men, guys, trying to tell you something. And this was going on. All over the country. I remember I'm in meeting some Christian people in.
In a city, and we, you know, we just went in fellowship with them for a while. And it was unusual. There was a lot of. There was a lot of grace and mercy going on. There was certainly a lot of lack of knowledge, which eventually came.
But the gospel was front and center in in everybody's uh in everybody's mind. There was no there was no hiding from it because it was out in the street. Yeah, and so you've actually grown a lot, Doug. And I know you, by the way, Doug goes to my church. You go to just like Jesus Ministries over in Burlington.
But I know I've known you for a while, and we're going to have a break here in just a minute. But I want you to hold the line because you know so much about the love of God, and you actually did psychology for a while, or you did counseling. And so, when we come back, Doug, I want you to discuss how people can know that they are loved by Jesus Christ. And, friends, we'll be right back. You don't want to miss this.
Christian Car Guy, we'll be right back. You're listening to the Truth Network and TruthNetwork.com.
Well, hello, hello, hello. This is Michael Zwick sitting in for Robbie Dilmore, the Christian car guy. And we are back with our friend Doug Carl. Coffin out of Greensboro, North Carolina. And, you know, we're talking on this show about the safety of seatbelts and the importance of wearing our seatbelts and stuff like that.
But You know, I was talking with Robbie before the show about this, and one of the things that he said is he says, let's also talk about Jesus. And Doug, you and I both have been saved. I've been saved out of several car accidents in my life. And I had been talking a little bit before about how I put my seatbelt on at the last minute. But there's been other times where God has saved me in a seatbelt from a seatbelt, from an accident because I had my seatbelt on.
But it was really because of his grace. But I was thinking about this before, too. There's a lot of car racing because this is a Christian car guy. And I realized that in our lives, Doug, our life is like a race. And I wanted to share this with you guys.
It's called The Race by D.H. Groberg. And it says, Whenever I start to hang my head in front of failure's face, my downward fall is broken by the memory of a race. A children's race, young boys, young men, how I remember well. It's excitement, sure, but also fear.
It wasn't hard to tell. They all lined up so full of hope, each thought to win that race. Or tie for first, or if not that. at least take second place. Their parents watched from off the side, Each cheering for their son, And each boy hoped to show his folks That he would be the one.
The whistle blew, and off they flew, Like chariots of fire To win, to be the hero there, Was each young boy's desire. One boy in particular, whose dad was in the crowd, was running in the lead and thought, My Dad will be so proud. But as he speeded down the field And crossed a shallow dip, The little boy who thought he'd win Lost his step and slipped. Trying hard to catch himself, his arms flew every place. amidst the laughter of the crowd, he fell flat on his face.
As he fell, his hope fell too. He couldn't win it now. Humiliated, he just wished to disappear somehow. But as he fell, his dad stood up and showed his anxious face, which to the boy so clearly said, Get up and win that race. He quickly rose, no damage done, behind a bit, that's all, and ran with all his mind and might to make up for his fall.
So anxious to restore himself, to catch up and to win. His mind went faster than his legs. He slipped and fell again. He wished that he had quit before with only one disgrace. I'm hopeless as a runner now.
I shouldn't try to race. But through the laughing crowd he searched And found his father's face. with a steady look that said again, Get up and win that race.
So he jumped up to try again, 10 yards behind the last. If I'm to gain those yards, he thought. I've got to run real fast. Exceeding everything he had, he regained eight then ten. But trying hard to catch the lead, He slipped and fell again.
Defeat he lay there silently, A tear dropped from his eye. There's no sense running any more Three strikes, I'm out, why try? I've lost, so what's the use? he thought. I'll live with my disgrace.
But then he thought about his dad. who soon he'd have to face. Get up, an echo sounded low. You haven't lost it all. For all you have to do to win is rise each time you fall.
Get up, the echo urged him on. Get up and take your place. You were not meant for failure here. Get up and win that race.
So up he rose to run once more, refusing to forfeit. And he resolved that win or lose, at least he wouldn't quit.
So far behind the others now, the most he'd ever been. Still, he gave it all he had and ran like he could win. Three times he'd fallen, stumbling, three times he rose again. Too far behind to hope to win. He still ran to the end.
They cheered another boy who crossed the line in one first place, head high and proud and happy, no failing, no disgrace. But when the fallen youngster crossed the line in last place, The crowd gave him a greater cheer For finishing the race. And even though he came in last, With head bowed low and proud, You would have thought he'd won that race To listen to the crowd. And to his dad he sadly said, I didn't do so well. To me you won, his father said, You rose each time you fell.
And now when things seem dark and bleak and difficult to face, The memory of that little boy Helps me in my own race. For all of life is like a race with ups and downs and all. And all you have to do to win is rise each time you fall. And when depression and despair shout loudly in my face, Another voice within me says, Get up and win that race. And Doug, to me, brother, that's the Christian life.
What do you think, man? Oh, yes, without question. Yeah. But that is it. I agree.
The the competition is not to be um it's not to be the winner. It's to enjoy the relationship of the race. You know, Jesus said, He was talking to one of the disciples and he said, Follow me. And the guy said, I love what he said. He said, Where?
Where are we going? And he gave an interesting thing. He said, He said, Well, the foxes have holes and the birds have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere. Telea said. Mm-hmm.
We're not going to a destination. We're going to live. It's a life. It's not a destination. We don't get someplace with God and then we're there.
We live with him forever and grow continually. in him and and you know learning him understanding him Um it's um It's a life that we seek. not a place that we get. Yeah, absolutely. And so I'm sure in your own life, and I know it's been in my own life as well, Doug, is that, you know, from where you were when you were maybe 18, 19 years old in the early 70s to where you are right now, it didn't happen overnight.
Is that right? Absolutely not. And you know, you were talking about the love of God. truthfully, understanding the love of God comes Much later in your relationship because you don't, you know, you can't love somebody that you meet. When you meet Jesus, he is so unique and different and holy that it motivates you to get to know him more.
And I'm talking about without the religiousness, not all the religious things you're doing, but you actually know meet him. He's a unique person. Nobody is like him ever. And as you begin to know him, you begin to understand the love of God that It's it's beyond understanding. And then understanding how God the Father could offer him.
in His Holiness for somebody like Okay. Me or you. And Doug, I want you to hold that thought because we will be right back after the break. We want your calls: 866-348-7884-866-34 TRUTH. We'll be right back.
You're listening to the Truth Network and TruthNetwork.com.
Yeah. Well, hello, hello, hello. We are back on the Christian Car Guy. This is Michaels Wick subbing for Robbie Dilmore, and we've got Greg on the, we've got, I'm sorry, we've got Doug on the phone out of Greensboro, but I wanted to share a quick verse, 1 Corinthians chapter 9, and starting in verse 23, and it says, And this I do for the gospel's sake, that I might be partaker thereof with you. Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize.
So run that ye may obtain. And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things.
Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown, but we an incorruptible crown. I therefore so run. Not as uncertainly, so fide I, not as one that beateth the air, but I keep under my body and bring it into subjection, lest that by any means when I have preached to others, I myself should. Should be a castaway. And so, Doug, when I see the Christian life, and we got another caller coming in, too.
So, but what I see in my Christian life, Doug, is that when I really step in and pray and seek the Lord with all of my heart, sometimes in the beginning, it can be tough. But I tell you what, after a while, brother, it can become fun. Have you seen that? Yes. many times and and you would think as you get older that the faith um Becomes easier, but we're just able to war against more, and I think more is required of us.
And so sometimes, you know, the Lord will He'll let us believe for a while before things uh begin to move. That's right. And I know God is certainly moving through you. And one of the things that I love about you, Doug, is that you ask people in a church service, you say, how do you see yourself as on a scale from one to 10? And many times people see themselves as a six or a five or a four or something like that.
But a lot of times you say that people see themselves in a lower light because they don't realize how much God loves them or the way that God sees them. Is that right? Absolutely, and we're conditioned to believe what other people say about us more than what God says about us. And that's one of the biggest strongholds that the enemy has. Is, you know, most people don't understand that I should believe what God says about me.
And if God sent Jesus for me, then I must be of enough worth to justify that. And so if I see myself in the context of the fullness of God, that I'm able to complete the work. better. Just like you know, you talk about ath athletes running the race.
Well, athletes see themselves as being able to compete and to win. And when we value ourselves less than when we already put ourselves in an area of defeat. And that's where we don't want to be.
Well, Doug, I want to thank you for the call, brother, and I'll see you Sunday. We've got a Ray out of Meben, North Carolina. And Ray, you actually work at a body shop. Is that where you fix cars up? Is that right?
Yes, sir, Mark. Yeah, man. And so we were talking about seat belts a little bit earlier, but what's on your mind this morning, brother?
Well, on the topic of it, I'd like to share a story of a time that I know it was my mother's prayers that saved my life. I'm a longtime car guy at 16 years old. I was just infatuated by cars. My first car was a 70 Nova Super Sport. a well, several different cars to start with, but that was my own personal car.
That was a fast car. And then I turned nineteen and I went and got a brand new ninety one Mustang 5.05 speed, very fast car, and um So I was saved at seven years old, Mike, but through the teenage years and the pulling of You know, I I stepped out of the ways of the Lord and started drinking and doing drugs and things like that. And uh, I was extremely high one night, and this guy was just talking just trash about racing cars, you know, and um. And I was with two other friends of mine in my brand new Mustang. Just made the first payment that day, I'd like to say.
And we left this stoplight or stop sign out here in the country. I'm like, so and so ain't got nothing for this car. And I just started dogging this car, you know. And We was up over 100 miles an hour, and a friend of mine in the back, he was yelling and screaming, slow down, slow down. And the guy over there been the passenger side rode with me lots of times.
He's like, He's got it. He's got it And then he looked over he he said, You got it, right? I said, Oh, yeah And I just dropped it like another gear and just hit it full swing and being high and under the influence, we got to a very drastic curve faster than I thought. And And I throwed it into this curve. I was doing I remember the speedometer saying one hundred and twenty as we were going backwards.
And uh all the smoke and everything going out from the tires in front of us. It was like us in a NASCAR, you know. And uh And we went through a field probably about a hundred yards and the car flipped up and l flipped twice end over end and landed on his top. You know, when they are And we walked away unscathed. The one guy in the back didn't have a seatbelt on, but luckily with no collision into something, just landed on its top.
He was fine. Me and the pastor had our seat belts on. And we uh we walked away, you know, and You know, for years it was like You know, I I chalked it up to some skills of driving, you know. Yeah. And uh But Later, as I come back to the Lord and matured and been walking with the Lord now for quite a very long time.
Um I realize you know, I had a mother at a home that was Just praying for me every night that I was gone and getting high and everything.
So. I know now it was God because we we had Several other friends in that same curve that wrecked, but they didn't go through the field. They went through the woods and it was just huge, just hardwood trees there. And you know And their car is disintegrating. Um, m in both wrecks, everybody in the cars Was killed on the spot, you know.
And I just know it was prayers for my mother and. The hands of God that kept me alive at night, you know.
So I look back on them things and I'm very grateful for the prayers of mothers, and I want to tell mother mothers out there that. If you're in the same position as my mother was, don't stop praying. You know, God is there. God is definitely hearing those prayers. And God is going to React on your behalf and on those prayers' behalf and your children's behalf and and intervene and save them, you know.
So That's my seatbelt story, Mike. That's that.
Now, that is an awesome seatbelt story, man. You know, when you were talking about that, I was reminded of 1 Thessalonians 5:16 through 18, and it says, Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. And, Ray, you know, while you were talking about that, one of the things that I was reminded of is we've all heard of Saint Augustine. You know, he's one of the most famous saints in the whole church. We've talked about him for the last 15 centuries or whatever it was.
But what a lot of people don't know about Saint Augustine is when he was younger, he was not a Christian at all. He was a pagan. You know, he was out seeking an education. He had all of these women. He was seeking everything but Jesus Christ.
But his mother, Monica, was actually a devout Christian. And for years and for years and for years, she prayed for him. She prayed for him, prayed for him, prayed for him. And then And later on in his life, he became a Christian. And not only did he get saved, but people are still reading his books 1,500 years later.
And he's probably one of the most famous Christians who have ever lived. But it started. With his mother just praying at night. And my mom told me, Ray, when I was a kid, she said, Mike, she said, ever since you were a child, she said that I would pray for your salvation. And so, you know, we went to church sometimes when I was a kid.
But, you know, when I went off to college, Ray, I went off there and the professor said, Well, there's no such thing as God. And I said, Well, I guess if they, these are, these are the experts. I guess they're right. I didn't know any better. And my senior year, there was a girl that I was actually interested in at the time.
And she kept bugging me about Jesus. She kept bugging me about Jesus. And finally, one day I surrendered my life. And, you know, you could look back on that, Ray, and say, well, that was just happenstance or it was just a coincidence.
Well, I don't think so. I believe it was the prayers of my mother, the prayers that my mother wanted me to be saved and wanted me to reach the world for Jesus Christ. And Ray, now that you're a father and now that you're married, Married and you have a wife, I'm sure that not only you pray for your children, but you pray for your grandchildren as well. Is that right? Oh yes, definitely, all the time.
I'm very blessed to serve a God that has his hands and His Holy Spirit and angels set about and To protect my family on law, you know, and And I know that, so I go to the Lord on a daily basis and ask him to continue doing so, you know. Oh, for sure. Um I've had I've had a grandchild in the hospital that uh had the R S V and um They told my daughter. Hey, Ray, Ray, I want you to tell that story right when we get back from the break. We will be right back, and we want your calls as well.
866-34-TRUTH, 866-348-7884. We'll be right back with Ray's hospital story. The Christian Car guy. You're listening to the Truth Network and TruthNetwork.com.
Well, hello, this is Michael Zwick. I am subbing in for Robbie Dilmore, the Christian car guy. And we've got a Ray on the phone, but it's funny, Ray, when you're about to tell this story, I was reminded of, I was in the Czech Republic recently in Prague, and I was doing, really, it was a mission trip, but I won a trip for selling insurance. And there was a lady who was running on the treadmill. And I could just see there was something different about this lady.
I mean, she looked like she had been there for a while and she was running really hard. And she had no look like she was going to stop. And I looked up at the treadmill and she had already burned 2,170 calories when I got in. And when I left, she had no look like she was going to stop. And I realized that it's kind of the same thing in our prayer life, Ray, where the Bible doesn't say to pray a little bit.
The Bible says to pray. Pray without ceasing. And so it's not that you got saved because your mom maybe said a prayer once or twice when you were a kid. No, you said she prayed for you every night, especially when you were on drugs, especially when you were drinking, especially when you weren't living right. And it's the same thing in our prayer lives.
This is something that we do consistently, and the Lord rewards us. But before you, you were telling a story about a hospital and RSV. Yes, my grandson was how was He was too and they diagnosed with RSV and it was during It was right at the end of COVID and the RSV was really strong, so there was no visitors in the hospital.
So my daughter and son-in-law was up there by themselves. And the third day, by that time, my grandson was on eighty four percent oxygen. And they actually started talking to my daughter and son in law to prepared themselves that he was gonna die. you know, in our COVID. he called us and gave him that news, you know, and uh And I just told we, me and Christina told us that Marshall is not going to die.
you know, and we prayed with her, but and Um, she hung up the phone and me and Christina just sit out on the porch and we just started pleading. the blood of Jesus over Marshall. And um And the They said the worst is to come in the next three days. And Three days later, Marshall went home. Yeah.
And uh and uh I just I was just I still just praise the Lord for it, you know, and And Marshall came home. In the spirit, I could sense something different about him, you know. And we were. We were talking about something but talking about Jesus one day and I looked at him and I said, You've seen Jesus, haven't you? And he's like Just shook his head, yes.
So There was definitely a a divine visitation, angels or Jesus or something on Marshall. You know, during that period at the hospital, you know, and uh, my grandson came home and he's had no complications since then. And uh So Yes, prayer is everything about it. And I just, I'm so, again, I'm just so grateful to. To serve a Lord that is so merciful to us and to me and and hear those prayers and act on those behalf.
So Protect and just cover my children, you know. Amen. And absolutely. And, you know, one of the things that I was thinking about is that prayer changes things. I mean, we've heard it so many times.
We've seen the memes. We've seen the bumper stickers, but it's not just a bumper sticker. It's not just a meme. It's not just a saying. Prayer literally changes things.
And so C.S. Lewis, the great Christian writer, he kind of had some different beliefs, but he was a Christian. But he would say, one time he was praying and his wife was there. And he was really intense and he was praying. And his wife said, why are you praying for?
She said, you know, it's not going to change anything. And he said, yeah, it's not going to change anything, but it changes me. And so, yes, prayer changes you, but prayer also changes things. You know, they were both wrong. You know, she was saying it doesn't do anything.
He said, well, it changes me. No, prayer changes situations. I mean, there have been times in the Old Testament where God was about to bring disaster on the Israelites or disaster upon an area. Look at Jonah and the whale. I mean, you know, he was about to bring disaster on Nineveh.
And then Jonah. Jonah came and preached to those people. They repented. They turned in sackcloth. They fasted for three days.
And God decided that he wasn't going to do that.
So I don't know how you read the Bible and don't see that prayer changes things. You know, in the book of James, it says that the effectual, fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
So that means we're not going, Lord, please do that. No, you went out on that front porch with your wife, Christina, and you prayed intensely and you were fervent in your prayer. And I believe the Lord heard your prayer and he answered it. For sure. And, you know, as Christian men and men of God and warriors in Christ, you know, the first place when we go into A battle or any type of warfare is our knees, you know, and turn to him and just bow before him.
and plead to him as the king, because that's who he is. You know, and his and all authority of his kingdom is in his hands.
So, you know, our first place is warrant for our Our family and our children and our wives and our church and our city and everything is on our knees. You know. Absolutely 100%. You know, a lot of the revivals that I've studied recently, Ray, you know, we've heard the names Charles Finney, but a lot of people don't know. There was a guy named Father Nash.
And so Mr. Nash would actually proceed Charles Finney to wherever he was going to be preaching a revival. And for about two weeks before the revival, Father Nash would get on his knees in prayer and pray that people's ears would be open, people's eyes would be open, and that people would see. And yes, it's important to pray, but we also have to have faith. You know, Hebrews chapter 11, it says, Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
For by it, the elders obtained a good report. Through faith, we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear. By faith, Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous. God testified of his gift. And by it, he being dead, yet speaketh.
By faith, Enoch was translated that he should not see death and was not found because God had translated him. For before his translation, he had this testimony that he pleased God. And here it is. It says, but without faith, it is impossible to please him. For he that cometh to God must believe that he is and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
In the book of James, it says that when you pray, it says, Don't pray, don't waver in your faith, don't waver in your unbelief, because it says, Then your prayers aren't going to be answered if you don't believe. And so, Ray, I'm sure as you've seen God move in your life, as you and Christina have seen God answer your prayers, I'm sure it's built your faith as well. Oh, for sure. For sure. Yeah, man.
So, well, I certainly appreciate you calling in, Ray. And, brother, we will see you on Sunday. And in the last few minutes, I want to ask you right now, if you're listening, that do you know Jesus Christ as your personal Savior? You know, the Bible says in John chapter 3, verse 16, it says, For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him shall not perish, but have everlasting life. You know, it says in Romans 3:23, it says that all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.
It says in Romans 6:23, it says, For the wages of sin is death. But it says that the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. And then, once you get to know Jesus Christ, He changes you and He forgives you. Romans chapter 8, verse 1, it says that there is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Jesus Christ, who walk according to the Spirit and not according to the flesh. If you've never surrendered your life to Jesus Christ, I want to encourage you to do it right now.
Just say, Lord Jesus, forgive me of my sins. I'm sorry for what I've sinned against you, Lord. I turn away from my sins. I repent of my sins, and I surrender my life completely to you, Jesus. Thank you for forgiving me today of my sins, Lord.
I love you, Jesus. I worship you because the truth is, is that if you're listening here right now, God deserves all the praise. God deserves all the praise. Thank you, Jesus, for what you've done. God bless you.
