Matt Gaetz has been flirting with this for a couple of weeks, a couple of months, teasing it on Twitter. In fact, Eric Swalwell a couple weeks ago said, I've never seen anyone talk as big of a game as Matt Gaetz and not do anything. And Matt Gaetz said, save this tweet.

It was like, I'm going to show you. Of course, we went through the shutdown conversation, which was not even a shutdown. It would have been a temporary pause in government spending, a temporary pause in some government business. We lost the messaging war on that. We capitulated. So the Speaker of the House, as of this broadcast, is Kevin McCarthy.

We remember all the drama that happened in January. Now you, right now, unless you are 113 years old, you have not lived through a motion to vacate the Speaker. So this is new for everybody. Everybody. There's no one that can go on TV and say, you know, I've been through this before.

Nope. No one's been through this. John Boehner has not been through this before. Newt Gingrich has not been through this before. The perv Denny Hastert has not been through this before. Nancy Pelosi has not been through this before.

No one. This is the first time in 113 years that a Speaker of the House is facing a motion to vacate vote. And in 1910, it was used when Republican House Speaker Joseph Cannon filed a motion to vacate against himself in order to quell a party rebellion by proving he still had a mandate. So let's just go through all of the details and all the facts, because there's so much chatter out there and people calling each other names on on both sides. We're going to take a step back. Let's walk through exactly the facts here, what this involves, and then we're going to ask the question, is this a good idea?

I think the world of Matt Gaetz, but he's going to have to answer the question, is this a good idea? OK, a motion to vacate is a motion by a single member of Congress to call on the House to consider by an up or down vote the whole house, not just Republicans, dismissing a speaker. In full, the name is, quote, resolution to vacate the office of the speaker. A motion to vacate is a, quote, privileged resolution, which means it gets immediately moved ahead of all other House business.

It gets moved to the front of the line. The House must vote on it within two legislative days, but they could buy more time by going into recess, but that's probably not going to happen. So the motion succeeds through a simple up or down majority vote. The whole House votes. If it succeeds, then McCarthy is no longer speaker and the House goes exactly back to where we were in January. And also the committees, the assignments that we've seen, the weaponization of government committee. A lot of this stuff goes into suspension because without a speaker, there really is no business of the House. So there does not have to be an immediate replacement at hand. You're just going to have basically the same sort of circus that we saw back in January. Just go through itself again.

So the House would then proceed immediately to a new speaker election, just like that one we had in last January. Now again, this has not been used in over 113 years. This is very serious stuff. Very serious stuff. And I'm going to go through why this is happening later in the program. It's happening because Republicans have not listened to their voters and they've ignored you for the last 20 or 30 years. And it's created the inevitable volcanic eruption in Washington, D.C., that has to be communicated. When leaders ignore their voters, you're going to get unprecedented activity. The disconnect is so massive between what you are demanding them to do. Secure the border, defund Jack Smith, balance the budget. Those are the top three priorities of the base. Secure the border, take care of Jack Smith, balance the budget, or otherwise on his cut spending and also take care of the Ukraine thing.

That's not, this is not unrealistic stuff. But when leaders don't do that, you get a set of preconditions that can best be described as chaos. So the Republican House majority is still extremely narrow and Gates only needs four other Republicans to join him for McCarthy to lose his majority. So if that happens, the only way that Kevin can remain speaker then is by the support of Democrats. But Democrats are saying we are all going to vote to remove you as Speaker, Speaker McCarthy. We as a bloc are going to remove you, Speaker McCarthy.

Every Democrat, remember, the Democrats, they don't go through any of this stuff. And in some ways that is, you know, a good thing. And also, honestly, I'm glad that our party is not just like the Borg from Star Trek with no individual thought, some sort of commissar Politburo. I'm glad that we have free thinkers.

At times, it could be rather frustrating, but I'm glad that we are not some sort of collectivist, communist, Marxist, totalitarian political party. But again, you think Pelosi would put up with this? If someone would have tried to do, if AOC, for example, would have been like, I'm going to do a motion to vacate against Nancy Pelosi, she would have been audited, her parking pass would have been, you know, would have been voided. There would be like a dead horse's head in AOC's bed by the next time she woke up, her boyfriend would be fired at whatever job, and her like third removed aunt would be deported from the country. Democrats play for keeps. It's not even a matter that Democrats know how to achieve consensus. It's that Democrats would be terrified because Pelosi would make it personal quickly.

There'd be six attack pieces. There would be, is AOC paying her taxes? There would be like a Daily Beast article watching Post article. That's all before Nancy Pelosi is done with her first cup of coffee, ruling with an iron fist. Republicans don't play like that. So here's what is going to happen, probably as early as this afternoon. Kevin McCarthy, the current speaker of the House, is going to bring this to a vote to the U.S. House of Representatives. And by up or down vote, the House is going to have to decide. And what is almost certainly going to happen is five or six Republicans are going to vote with all the Democrats. And Kevin McCarthy will likely be fired as speaker of the House. So then we're going to be without a speaker.

Now, I know that based on the emails, there's a lot of rejoicing and a lot of celebration that Kevin will no longer be speaker. But then I ask the question the same way that you think, hey, let's get rid of, you know, this person. Bad example, but it's very similar to kind of neo-conservatism foreign policy, which is let's get rid of this and then we're going to get something better. Well, sometimes you get something worse.

Sometimes you get something far worse. Back in January, there were a few Republicans who made noises about negotiating a deal with Democrats for a moderate speaker. If the Republican caucus crumbles and it looks like we might get a government shutdown a month from now, there might be a very anti-shutdown Republicans to make a deal to elect a Democrat or to elect a left-wing Republican with Democrat support. Let me read you a real text message from a member of Congress. I'm not going to say who, but it's someone who's on our show a lot.

She said, I am flaming pissed at Kevin. I can't even put into words, but this is wrong. This is a bad idea. This will suspend all activity of Congress. I will likely vote against Matt's motion. The timing is wrong. This is a huge problem. I'm not going to tell you, well, it's a woman who talks like that, so you can guess who said that. It's only like two or three options. I was texting this morning, so I was just asking like, hey, is this a good idea?

Is this a bad idea? Our production team guessed correctly. Who do you think sent me that message? Freedom at charliekirk.com. And look, I see it. I see it from all because honestly, at my core, I'm also kind of of the perspective of when will Republicans actually represent their voters?

So I see it from that perspective too. Debt ceiling, CR, Ukraine, open border, Jack Smith. It's like, how many hits are we supposed to take here?

But we also must pause and ask the question, what does success look like? Who are we going to now have a speaker? And now that we are in the middle of a continuing resolution for a chance to get actual spending cuts, which probably won't happen, we're going to have to now re-litigate the speaker fight. I'm going to tell you more details about this, but I just wanted to set the table of exactly what's happening because this afternoon, Kevin McCarthy will likely be fired as speaker of the house.

So back in January, there were a few Republicans who made noises about negotiating a deal with Democrats for a moderate speaker. So that could also happen. It could also happen if the moderate, like Dusty Johnson, Don Bacon, go and make a deal with the Democrats. And by the way, that means that they could change all the House rules. Just so we're clear, if you get a bad speech, I mean, you might say, okay, Charlie, I hate Kevin.

Okay, that's fine. But let's just say you get a different, let's say you get Dusty Johnson or Don Bacon or Tom Emmer. You realize they could change all the rules. Get rid of the weaponization of governing committee.

They could get rid of any of the rules changes, which based on several of the emails, you guys are saying, burn it down, burn it down. One of you say, Matt Gaetz for speaker. Okay, he'll get three votes.

So you need 217. Now, the fact that this motion has not been used in over 113 years is very interesting and telling, because I actually don't think the anger, the rage, the fury that all of us are feeling is unwarranted. I don't. I see your thousands of emails.

I hear you. This is nothing more than a result of the regime not doing the basic stuff that they have campaigned on. And it's just going to be a complete mess.

It is going to be a circus, to put it differently. Put it differently. You see, over the last couple of decades, we have given power. We have voted people into office time and time again to do very basic stuff. Can you balance the budget? Can you cut spending? Can you reign in the Department of Justice? And we've said before, we do not have an opposition party in this country.

Can you protect our border? How many Republican AGs are using any of their investigative power to go after some of the Democrat operative groups that are obviously not operating under the law? None. Have there been any subpoenas offered?

None. And they're talking about this impeachment inquiry. By the way, impeachment is going to be done.

We're probably not going to impeach Joe Biden, not impeach Mayorkas. You can put all that aside. That's all just DOA. Got an arrival with this whole new thing.

This is such a consequential development. Impeachment, Hunter Biden, all that stuff is just you could just ride unless there is some sort of deal that gets struck here. OK, and some of you are saying, you know what? Fine, forget it. Burn it all down.

And then you need to ask the next question. Is it important to control the House of Representatives in the next Congress? And that's a question that is an unpopular question. Many of you say, no, forget it. We don't care. Again, the best argument. For the House of Representatives being read is not what they do, but it's what they don't do.

I know this is an unbelievably depressing argument, doesn't exactly motivate people to go to the polls, but at least they're not trying to get rid of the Electoral College, add D.C. and Puerto Rico as a state and pass H.R. 1. Great.

Terrific. I actually find that to be a little bit of a win because I see how maniacal the other side is. But this right here is just an aftershock of a political earthquake that started many, many years ago. The 2016 election was a political earthquake, and we've been living with the aftershocks, the tremors of that earthquake ever since, even seven, eight years later. That's what the civil fraud case with Donald Trump is all about, which we're going to get into.

Totally outrageous. Trump here might have his entire business empire taken from him by this, this very creepy weird judge in New York. And, you know, I'll read this one email. Charlie, we need to fire McCarthy. Whoever comes is going to be better.

That might be true or that might not be true. You know, somebody says Speaker of the House Donald Trump. Yeah, that he'll get like maybe 100 votes. That's not going to happen. So what what is the plan? And I've asked that. And I see the frustration. I hear the frustration. There's been big promises that have not been fulfilled.

Big ones. I totally hear it. I see it.

Borders completely open. We had this continuing resolution fight. I look over the weekend and I say, this is forget it. And I bet Kevin at this point is probably saying, boy, why didn't I just shut down the government? You know, I would be and I would still be Speaker at this point. So the question is, will Democrats bail out Kevin McCarthy? And right now here is the whip list. And we're going to have some of these people on the show. Matt Gaetz, Eli Crane, Bob Good, Andy Biggs and Congressman Burchette. Who currently will probably vote to vacate and the entire Democrat caucus will likely vote to vacate.

At that point, it will put all congressional business into suspension and bring us right back to where we were in January. I think we did a good job of talking about the facts of the matter, but want to make sure you see this. Okay, this is Matt Gaetz. First time in 113 years filing the motion to vacate against Kevin McCarthy.

Play cut 32. Mr. Speaker, pursuant to Clause 2A1 of Rule 9, I rise to give notice of my intent to raise a question of the privileges of the House. The gentleman will state the form of his resolution. Declaring the Office of Speaker of the House of Representatives to be vacant. Resolved that the Office of Speaker of the House of Representatives is hereby declared to be vacant. And here's Kevin McCarthy responding to the motion to vacate.

Play cut 34. No, I personally am not. Do you need their help to remain in leadership? No, um, if five, if five Republicans go with Democrats, then I'm out. So it's, it's, it's whether, probably so.

So let's, let's do a thought exercise here. And it's just so funny. Charlie, sorry to see you rolling over inside with the Uniparty.

That's really rich. Saying that, saying that the guy that has been leading the charge against Ukraine funding and asking for the mobilization and calling for government shutdown is that I'm, I'm on the side of the Uniparty. No, no, I'm on America's side. Okay. I think I've proven that time and time again. But being angry is fine. I'm angry. I'm pissed.

I'm upset. What is the plan? All right. And if the plan is vacate, then what?

I'm not convinced of that. The same way that people say, let's go take out Saddam Hussein. Okay. Oh, then sometimes you get ISIS. Let's take out Gaddafi. Yeah.

Sometimes you get Bedlam. So just think that through. Okay. Let's just, let's go through this right now. Hakeem Jeffries is celebrating this whole thing, Hakeem Jeffries and the Democrats.

They love it. So here's, what's going to happen. And it's a fact is that the people that will then vote for motion to vacate will be siding with every single Democrat. So just so we're clear, the people that will be the most excited to vacate the chair will be the Democrat party.

Does that change your calculation at all? Probably not because based on the tone of the audience is blood. Metaphorically, there is a blood thirst I've never seen before in the base of the Republican party.

And there really is no convincing people otherwise. Be careful with that. I'll be very honest. Be careful with that. That's not a good way to govern.

Additionally, I will agree that this doesn't help. I have great respect for Speaker Gingrich, but him saying to expel Matt Gaetz, Matt Gaetz should not be removed from a single committee. Matt Gaetz should not be penalized in the slightest. That's insane.

Expulsion from the house? No, no, no, no. Matt Gaetz is just communicating with a lot of voters. That's a fact. This whole idea that Matt Gaetz needs, no, no, no.

And there's some talk show hosts that say Matt Gaetz is a rhino. No, no, no. Time out. Is this strategically smart? I'm not, I'll be honest, I'm not convinced. I'm not convinced that this is strategically well thought out. I'm not.

And by the way, Chip Roy and many other people agree with me. And I, again, this is, I want to know the five or six steps, the actual plan, not just blood thirst, of what we are going to do here. So someone says here, you know, Vincent emailed us freedom at charliekirk.com. The house has done nothing since January. Nothing we want will get done. Must vacate.

We need to go after the traitors and the pieces of garbage. This will send a message. This one right here, Anthony, great show.

Charlie K. Charlie, great show. Thank you. McCarthy has two choices. He can step down and retire and become a highly paid lobbyist, or he can seek and receive support of Democrats and be saddled by requiring their continued support for as long as he can take it. Okay. So Newt Gingrich writes in the Washington Post, Republicans must expel Matt Gaetz. And with all due respect, Speaker Gingrich, you are, you're, you're not right here. I mean, dare I say you're, how do I say this?

I have such respect for him. You're wrong. That this, this honestly, this only makes Matt Gaetz's argument stronger.

This doesn't help at all. This is bad, bad stuff. Let's put this article up. Newt Gingrich calling for the expulsion of Matt Gaetz. I don't like it.

This only makes the base angrier. This only makes you and me all of a sudden like, wait a second, maybe Matt Gaetz has a point here. You're writing in the Washington Post that Matt Gaetz has to be kicked out of Congress?

Like, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. Where's the article that says Elon Omar has got to get kicked out of Congress? Just because Matt Gaetz is filing motions you don't like doesn't mean that all of a sudden you get to kick him out of Congress. I don't like this article. I don't like this. I don't like anything about this. This is DC type, we're gonna come and destroy your life type stuff. I don't like it. And quite honestly, it only strengthens those of you that are calling for McCarthy's head.

It only probably furthers your resolve. So if Newt Gingrich is trying to calm down the warring tribes, this has the opposite intended effect. The U.S. House will vote on a motion to table Matt Gaetz's motion to vacate during the vote series starting at 1 30 p.m. The Democrats will not vote to table. The Democrats are so excited right now. Oh my goodness.

They are. This is a dream for Hakeem Jeffries. This is a dream for these maggots that are destroying our country. They're going to see the warring tribes of Republicans and they want it live on TV. They want it broadcasted.

Every cable news channel is going to take this. It's going to just be non-stop infighting, tearing each other apart. And so then a vote will occur where likely every single Democrat will say vacate and then five people will then vote with the Democrats. So then you have to ask yourself the question, are you actually the opposition party if you vote with the Democrat party? For those of you that want to vacate just, and I know that you don't want to hear this, but I'm not here to do happy talk and I think I've earned a lot of your trust over the last couple years.

If you're vacating just so we're clear, you agree with the Democrat party. That's a fact. Now you might say, but they want it for different reasons. That's a very fair argument.

That's very fair. But it will be Democrats plus this. And this is so funny. Betsy says, Charlie, we see through you now. You're just like the rhinos. Quit calling yourself a conservative.

You are a fake. OK, Betsy. I'll listen to you when you've traveled 3000 days over the last decade fighting for this country. Really, really clear.

Persuasive. I got to be honest, guys, this is not a this is not a good thing to to attack the motives of somebody who is simply calling out the facts and asking questions. I hear the rage. I'm not taking it personally, but at some point you have to wonder, you've got to ask yourself the question, is like everyone going to be cast off the island? And by the way, here I am speaking and I'm saying that Newt Gingrich is completely off the wall.

Someone says here, who cares what come next, Charlie? Stop with your questions. The people like the former speaker who take bows for having a great record should calm down. Good for Representative Gates. Burn it all down. OK, I hear you guys. Loud.

And clear. Honestly, burn it all down sounds like Antifa. I'm just gonna be honest, that that that doesn't sound like a conservative position, but maybe the new conservative movement is just legislative arson.

Maybe. Let's play some more tape here. Let's play cut 18. Kevin McCarthy's going to get his wish. I don't think the adult in the room would allow America to sit atop a thirty three trillion dollar debt facing two point two trillion dollar annual deficits. I don't think the adult in the room would allow eight trillion dollars of this debt to come into refinancing at a higher level without serious spending cuts. And I don't think the adults in the room would lie to House conservatives. And that is exactly what Kevin McCarthy did.

I think Matt made some good points there. I'm just I'm just curious what what is the strategy here? What is the tactic?

Who's going to replace? And I know these questions bother some people. Stop asking questions. Just do it.

Take off the head. OK, I got that. Well, what what is what is the plan now?

Because you need a speaker. So who's it going to be? Can you just walk me walk me through that?

What are the rules changes specifically in the rules committee that we're going to get here? What? No. Can you just tell me who the speaker is going to be? You want Dusty Johnson? You want Don Bacon far worse than McCarthy? You want a uni-party speaker? Like a blue dog Democrat? You might get that now. You might.

A no labels consensus candidate? I don't know. You tell me.

Someone says, Charlie, I think someone got to I'd like to know how much money you're getting to take this position. Right. Right. Zero.

How about this? I care about the country. This is this is a bad sign. It's a bad sign, guys. But it's where we're at. We are in a very dysfunctional place right now. This one right here. Charlie, I hope you have good security considering the stances you're taking.

I'd hate to see you in a street. It's like now they're just getting the threats. It's really amazing. Wow.

So go to Salem now dot com right now. Somebody says, Charlie, why do you read the negative emails on air? No, no, I think I think you have to you have to confront the criticism. You have to. And by the way, you guys are the audience.

You've stood by me through some tough times, and I appreciate that. No one's above criticism. In fact, I invite disagreement to the front of the line.

I do want to just ask the question, though, which I think is important, which is now that we are 10 months into the Congress vacating the chair of Kevin McCarthy, which, you know, based on 99 percent of the emails, want Kevin completely removed, who should replace him? Should we replace him? Should we just say, you know what, let's just not do a speaker? That could be an argument, right? That could be an argument. You might get something worse. You might get rules changes that are worse.

These are all serious questions. But I think this is also this needs to be said that Speaker McCarthy, I don't know this for a fact, that he regrets probably doing the CR. And in some ways, he pushed it a little bit too hard. He pushed a little too far, where he said, we could just do a clean CR.

And Matt Gaetz said, no, you can't. We're going to remove you. So this is all really based in a crescendo of built up anger that is about the open border and Jack Smith and all these different things.

Yeah. And I mean, I hear the emails. We don't care how the sausage is made. We want McCarthy out. Doesn't matter if we have a Democrat speaker. We have hundreds of emails that say that right here. Yeah.

Cynthia from Ohio. Let's do another. I mean, clips like this is why people are so angry and I hear you as Bill Clinton say, I feel your pain.

Play cut six. Majority leaders recognized. I have very good news for the country. Democrats and Republicans have come to an agreement and the government will remain open. We will have avoided a shutdown by partisanship, which has been the trademark of the Senate, has prevailed and the American people can breathe a sigh of relief. That makes me angry and it should make you angry. Here you have the party that doesn't control the House of Representatives celebrating. That is what triggered this entire thing.

So get ready for another January speaker vote. All over. And I also want to make sure my position is clear. This whole thing about expelling Matt Gaetz, who is one of the most talented, one of the most important people in the entire conservative movement, to try to expel him, to write that in The Washington Post. Man, that bothers me. I got to be honest. That bothers me on a fundamental level.

I don't like it. I and I really have a lot of respect for Newt Gingrich. He spoke at our events. He comes on our show.

We have mutual admiration, but we see this one completely different, like completely different, different planets. And I think one of the buried leads about this entire thing, and it just so happens that McCarthy is wrong place, wrong time, is 11 years, 15 years of just delayed promises, one-off kind of whisper campaigns. And eventually people are saying, we're done. We've had enough.
