And we do welcome you to the CNC Auto Show. I'm your host, Aaron Clemens, here with co-host Jamie Bridges. And we are on this show to talk mostly about cars, but we'll talk about just about anything that has to do with transportation. And we love it. Oh, yeah.
Yes, we do. All right, you guys, the show live on facebook.com forward slash CCAuto show. We're here to answer your automotive questions. Just give us a call. That's 800-224-9090.
That's any Saturday morning, 8 to 10 Eastern Time. And you can also, well, along with answering automotive questions, we'll also be giving a few tips here and there, having a little fun. We'll maybe lay a tech tip.
Well, we will lay a tech tip quiz out on the table very shortly. And during the show, we'll probably throw a few tips out there on having to do with rain because, Jamie, it's been a little rainy this week. It's been a lot rainy down here. Yeah. We were talking a little bit before the show about...
Whether a person should put their hazard lights on in really heavy rain. Yeah, no, that's kind of a I've seen from the internet that's kind of a a divisive question. I don't think that you should drive with your hazard lights on, I think it's more dangerous than uh Than anything else, if the visibility is that poor, I think you should pull over, not drive with your hazard lights on. I will say that I have cut mine on if it's where you just can't hardly see outside. I've probably only done it a few times in my life.
But if it's absolutely zero visibility, I'll cut my lights on if I do need to keep moving.
Now, I agree with you that when it gets to that point, you're better off to go ahead and pull over. Yeah, that's it. And to me, your hazard lights are if you have stopped and you have an emergency that let people know that you have stopped and you're having some kind of emergency. but or you're stopping quickly in the highway. I use my hazard lights a lot on the highway, especially in Atlanta.
If I come around a bend and ev all I see in front of me is brake lights, I'll hit the hazards so the people behind me know that I'm you know, pressing on the brakes pretty hard. But if it's raining that bad, that now I think the thing that people don't realize is when you have your hazard lights on, your turn signals do not work anymore.
So if you're driving and you're just switching lanes, even if you're using your turn signals, nobody knows that you're using them because that it's it can't blink anymore than it's already blinking. Mm-hmm. They may confuse people when they see the hazard lights and think it's an emergency. You're in an emergency situation, something like that. Yeah, I mean, from state to state, some states it's illegal.
Uh here in Georgia there's it they don't it's not illegal. But I don't think it's a good idea.
So, it's a personal preference thing down here.
Well, I think that's good enough. We won't do it. Yeah, well, hopefully not because it gets on my nerves. But, you know, that's just me. You want to lay a Tech Tip quiz out on the table?
Yeah, let's go. All right, we do have that Tech Tip quiz. And of course, the winner of the Tech Tip will receive a Tech Tip Quiz Prize package, which, among other items, will include the world-famous IANswer to Tech Tip Quiz water bottle. And here is the question: Johnny was driving his Z3 a little too fast and he got a ticket. He paid the $40 ticket and it saved him over $12,000.
How did paying the $40 ticket save him over $12,000? If somebody knows the answer to that, they can give us a call. And the number is 800-224-9090. You give us a call. And we will move to the next, to the.
To an email, I mentioned. Last week, that we're going to try to do a better job of answering people's emails. Yeah. We have not done that great with that in the past, and I'll call it usually or send somebody a quick message, but we hadn't been answering the questions on air. And this was a pretty simple one.
It was from Alyssa and Aira. You do not recommend driving a car in areas of heavy water. But I see them doing it all the time on T V. Why do you say not to do it? Um There's a whole lot of reasons to not drive through heavy water.
I mean, all you can see is the surface of the water. You don't know what's under the water. Maybe it's a sinkhole. Maybe the water's moving faster. Then you can tell.
I mean, there's maybe a dozen beer bottles at the bottom of that puddle. You have no idea. What's down there?
Well, and also, I think a lot of the times people don't know, don't see what we see after a heavy storm. They see the cars on TV that are driving, but they don't see the repair shops that fill up afterwards because people drove their car, and either the water got high enough to get into a computer and an electronic part that may be located somewhere on the floorboard, and the water may have got in and got into an electronic part, or worse yet, the water pop up and get into an air intake and suck the water inside the engine, and water does not compress.
So, when that piston comes up and the valves are closed, and there's water in there instead of just combustible air. Then you lock up the engine pretty much. You bend something somewhere.
So, in other words, the engines are total. And sometimes, if a car, there's many times that may total a car out. I mean, you look at a 10, 15-year-old car, it could have been good for another 10 or 15 years, but boom, it's somebody decided to drive it in the water.
So, what we recommend is on your car, and I'll mention this to Alyssa. If you run into an issue to where you've got some higher water, if possible, get the car to higher ground. Yeah. Get it somewhere to where the and park it there and just leave it there. If you, for some reason, have to park it in your garage or something, pull the garage door down and maybe put some sandbags in front of it to keep the water out.
But do what you can to keep the car, the water from rising at least above the floorboard. Yeah. And then, of course, you stand the danger of electronic parts on most modern cars, even if it hits the floorboard. But if it hits up there at the intake where it pulls its air in and you're driving it, you can get it.
So, yep. I still don't recommend it. No. Oh no. Electronics or uh Electroleal stuff is one of the worst things to diagnose just because it takes so much time.
But then because of the time it gets expensive, so water is uh not your friend unless you're set up for it specifically. Mm-hmm. Exactly.
Okay, car manufacturers, they've been through the pandemic. They've been through the chip shortage. And now they're faced with an aluminum shortage.
Now, this is mostly in European countries. Yeah, we have the it's it seems that Switzerland had an issue with flooding and that affected aluminum production and that caused a major production issue for especially Jaguar, Land Rover, Porsche, but it's also causing issues for the BMWs and Mercedes.
So if you have one of those ordered, it might take a while. Ha, I wonder if this whistle Buy my used Coca-Cola cans. Think so? You know, I read the other day where Audi was the first vehicle with a full aluminum body. I don't remember to year model all that, but a full aluminum body on there.
And, of course, that's done for several reasons, being lightweight. But things like that really affect the collision repair industry because that is a totally different scenario when you start to repair a vehicle like that. You know, I watched that video where the guy did the Tesla make it or break it video. It was Whistling Diesel that did it, where they ripped the rear bumper off. Did you see that video?
I don't think I did. I don't know what the frame of that Tesla. Tesla is made out of, but that uh the composition of that middle when they rip that rear Uh receiver off didn't look that great. I wonder if it was some kind of an aluminum composite. Yeah, I would imagine that it is.
Yeah. That is most likely the case.
Okay, we are, we need to pull over and take a real quick break, and we will be back very shortly with more of the CNC Auto Show. AutoZone knows that as a professional, you have to manage a lot of moving parts to run your business. Fast track your Bay turns with thousands of parts available just up the road, ready to deliver. More parts, easy ordering, and fast delivery so you can keep it moving. That's AutoZone's professional edge.
And we're back with you with the CNC Auto Show. I'm Aaron Clemens here with co-host Jamie. And we are transmitting live from a fully functioning 25-bay repair shop. And we have some people working here on the weekend. And they don't always do that, but we're definitely going strong.
And this is a pretty wild place during the week. Oh, yeah. Yeah, a lot of cars coming in and out. We're here to talk about cars and answer your automotive questions. Give us a call on any Saturday morning between 8 and 10, numbers 800-224-9090.
And you can also watch us live at facebook.com forward slash CC Auto Show. We'll go to the calls. Let's go over to. Let's go to Matt. Matt, welcome to the CNC Auto Show, and what can we help you with?
Hey, Aaron, a long time listener. I had a question. We've had an argument where I work about my new pickup trucks.
Some people I work with. Say it's not a truck. It's the Ford Maverick. They say because it doesn't have a ladder frame, because it's a unibody, it's technically an SUV and not a truck. And uh I was just wanting to get your opinion on what you think of the Ford Maverick.
Well, we almost bought one. We were looking for a parts truck. This was probably a year or so ago. Might have even been two years. I'm not sure.
But when we called them and told them I wanted one, and they told me that they couldn't get it. And they said you have to put your name down on a list and they don't know when you would get one.
Now, that was many years back. You're starting to see them on the road now.
So you're able to get them. But as far as it being considered a truck, I would lean toward calling it a. A very light truck. How's that? Judges over here laughing at me.
I need some backup for my arguments at work.
Well, I mean, from the great Aaron Clemens, that's a good idea.
Now, technically, it's a truck, though. I mean, it is a truck. Technically, it is a truck, yes. Yeah. And technically, it is a pickup.
And, of course, it's got a bed on it.
So. It's got all that. And you would consider things like the Toyota trucks many years ago that were much more. I mean, it's it's you should buy a vehicle to meet your needs.
So if you don't need a gigantic truck, then what you bought, you know, was the best option for you.
Well, the big question is, though, how do you like the truck so far? I love it. Um I got the hybrid uh I'm actually driving right now. I'm averaging Just over 40 miles a gallon, so um, I'm cheap at heart, so I hate paying for gas and uh. I use a pickup bed probably three or four times a year, so there wasn't a more perfect option for me.
Uh-huh.
So you can toodaloo around in the Maverick and laugh at all the lifted diesel boys getting four to six miles to the gallon. Absolutely. Absolutely. I love it. What if what if some of them uh said to you about your truck that uh that was it kind of hurt a little bit when they were talking about your truck?
Well, they say because it's on the escape platform, it's more of an SUV. They say it doesn't have I think they called it a ladder frame. Which is required for it to be a truck. They called it a Ute, which I guess was something from Australia. Uh-huh.
Um So you're taking a beat. Yeah. Well, just tell them the gas mileage that you're getting, and that should settle it. That's right. But But yeah, the answer is very a very light truck.
That's good. That that would that would do it. All right.
Well, I appreciate y'all's time today, and I enjoy the show. Matt, good luck with it. I believe you can handle them all. All right.
Thanks, Eric. Thank you. Have a good rest of the day. You too. Bye-bye.
Okay, the number to call this 800-224-9090. If you have a question about your car, your truck, your SUV, or if you've got an answer to the Tech Tip quiz, I'm going to lay it back out there on the table. Johnny was driving a Z3 a little too fast and he got a ticket. He paid the $40 ticket and it saved him over $12,000. How did paying the $40 ticket save him over $12,000?
And if you know the answer to today's tech tip quiz, you give us a call.
Okay, we are going to put a. Message that we got on the voicemail on, and we have a person that had a question about her Dodge. And here is the question. I have a question. I have a 94 Dodge Ram.
Well, nobody drives those Oldie Bagoodies anymore but me. And it's got nearly 400,000 miles on it. And so one day starts. and it's a strong motor, but then when you put it in drive, It moves about three inches. It won't go.
So I had one mechanic look at it, and he told me, This is a throttle body that you need, just all you need. Then I had another guy said, No way. He was a mechanic and said, You need a new transmission.
Well, I don't know.
Now I'm confused because it is a 94. It does have, you know, 400,000 miles on it. And I'm not going to put a transmission. I mean, I don't think I would have to, but Anyways, I figured you guys might know what could possibly be wrong when it starts and it's got a strong motor, but it won't move. That's my situation.
I live in Colorado Springs. My name is Diane, and I sure would appreciate some input from you professional guys. That's a lot of miles. Yeah, 400,000 is getting on a lot of people. That's a lot of miles.
Um With that many miles, it could be a transmission. But my opinion is: does the engine rev up? A throttle body, what the gentleman's talking about with the throttle body, if it goes bad, it could cause it to go into a fail-safe mode, and it'll make it to where the engine won't rev up. You'll give it the gas, and it'll almost kind of bog down instead of going.
So the engine would sound like it's not revving up.
Now, what it sounds like she's describing is that she said the engine was strong.
So with that, it sounds like the engine is revving up. But it's not going anywhere. It's only going a few inches.
So, because of that, what it sounds like she's describing is the transmission. But when you're talking about that much money, you want to be sure. I would consider having A third opinion and somebody that actually can say without question. And the other technician might have, but I'm assuming that both of these people did listen to the car, try to drive the car, things like that. But if it's if it revs up, wants to go, the next step is to.
Check the transmission fluid, make sure it's not really low in fluid. And if it's not low, replace the transmission and If you want to repair it, and that's always a tricky thing is how far you want to go with a vehicle with 100,000 miles because you may run into some other things later on down the line and you'd be investing a lot of money.
So it might be time to retire the vehicle if it is a transmission, unless it has settlemental value. And that's what I always ask.
Sometimes people say, no, this car belonged to my husband. This car belonged to my father. This car belonged to so-and-so. And because of something like that, you can't put a price tag on that. Then if it needs a transmission, get one.
Put it in there. Go ahead and get a good one, a remand that will last a long time. But. You want to be sure, and it sounds like you're describing transmission, though. Yeah.
Okay, hope that answered that question.
Okay, we uh the n next Oh, we need to take a real quick break. We'll be right back after these messages. The CNC Auto Show brought to you in part by Blue Death, America's number one brand of diesel exhaust fluid tested to meet or exceed the strictest OEM standards. Learn more at peakauto.com. Boy, two hands on the wheel, I can't replace away.
Made me feeling I would present that club tonight. Keep it. Right, he said. A little sore sun, you're doing just fine. Yes, it did.
With trash on each side, but I will Spiritual And ready when Daddy let me drive. And we are back with you with the CNC Auto Show. I'm Aaron Clemas here with co-host Jamie Bridges. We're here to talk about cars, answer your automotive questions, and you can also watch this show live on facebook.com forward slash CC Auto Show. And we are ready to answer more questions.
And so the next one we'll go to has to do with a Jeep. Fred, actually, this was a phone call I got. I have a lot of people that call me all during the week and ask different questions about stuff. And Fred called and asked me about his 2014 Jeep Patriot. And he said the passenger side.
Air gets nice and cold, but the uh, but the driver's side does not get cold. And he said that the uh Wondered what might be wrong, and I mentioned to him that the just to make sure that. Of course, you have that side turned down on the floor. Yeah, it's the dual climate control, which I'm sure he would have. But if it is turned down like it should have, like it should be, then he's most likely got a blend air door on the left side.
Blend air door actuator is going to be bad. Dorman makes those, they're good products. And he can, if he. Fred does some stuff himself. I'm not sure he'll want to do uh an actuator.
Yeah, that's that's a a very involved process. And if you do decide to do it on your own, usually there's instructions for calibration in the box with the actuator. Make sure you follow those instructions, or you'll be sorry. You know, I am so glad you said that because I was going to mention to Fred that instead of going ahead and just automatically putting one on, try disconnecting the battery and leave it disconnected for about. uh fifteen twenty seconds And then Put the battery back on, tighten it down good, and then actuate the door from cold to hot two or three times.
Sometimes that'll reset it because if it loses its calibration, it can do the same thing. More often than not, it's a bad actuator. And usually, if you recalibrate them and they work, many, many times they'll do it again later on down the line. But it's worth a try. You never know.
There's also the thing with buying these from online or an auto parts store or something like that. You have multiple actuators inside the dashboard. And when we look them up as parts people, you can't. The descriptions aren't great most of the time.
So, a lot of times it is helpful if there's, I have some kind of a number off the side of. Actuator itself or If uh you can bring me the old one. Because, you know, they're they're The manufacturers, when they're coming down the assembly line, they use whatever they can get a hold of.
So sometimes there'll be two or three different possibilities. And I'm not ha we would have no idea what is under that dash until you take the dash off and I can see it.
So just just take keep that in mind if you go online and you start ordering parts, you go to AutoZone and order parts before you get upset at yourself or your parts person. Just remember that sometimes it's a There's too many options to be 100% sure. Yeah, and it's definitely not a bad idea right in the beginning when you first start checking. When you go get a part for those that like to work on their own vehicles and do certain things theirself, always carry that VIN number with you. And that way, the person looking up your parts, that VIN will tell them a lot.
But you run into some parts like you're talking about is even with the VIN, it can be something totally different. Like many times, the VIN is not going to tell you something different about an actuator that's been changed.
So if you can, when you go in to get the part, carry that old one with you. Yeah, the VIN number is not 100% complete. Breakdown of every single minute component that was put on the vehicle and it was manufactured. You're going to get your your large components and anything that was special or specific to that vehicle. That'll show up with the VIN.
But something small like a door lock actuator Or odds and ends, switches and components that probably not going to show up with the Ven.
So just, you know, do a little research before you start working on something and your parts as part of your research product process. Yeah, definitely. And the good thing is many times when you're looking at something online to get parts, for instance, if you go to AutoZonePro.com, you can actually see the pictures.
Now, this is more for professional shops, but it's kind of neat where when you're able to go in there and just look at the part and look at the picture of the part that's on there and be able to tell that you're getting the right one. when you order something many times.
Okay, let's go to a flood tip that we have here. All right, we uh uh there's a lot of things that you should do to prepare for floods and make sure that everything's in order. But one of them is to go ahead and get some uh fill up with fill up your tank with gas. Make sure you have plenty of fuel in your tank. And then that way, if for some reason you do have to leave all of a sudden to carry your car somewhere or to get out of town, you're able to do it.
And that's always the important thing. Another thing is to have a little bag, uh, to-go bag with a few little items in it. You can just keep it in uh in the house somewhere and maybe all maybe a couple of changes of clothes and some underwear. Yeah, definitely, definitely the underwear. Yeah, I gotta carry it out and have a few things like that so that you can, uh, if something did come up and you say, well, I had to go.
And also things to do with insurance and any big papers that you might need somewhere like that, have copies run of them and stick them in a bag. And then that way it just relieves the pressure of having to find everything at one time. And you're able to leave like that. Yeah. No, that's uh uh important paperwork.
We have those little little safes. And that's what everything goes in. Yep. Yep. And and another big thing that it's a good idea to do, and this is for your home and your car, as far as the as far as Preparing for anything bad that might happen.
Even more floods are one thing, but there's a lot of other issues that this would be helpful for. But that's to check your insurance policy. Do you have insurance that would cover a flood or not? If you don't, then you need to really be even more careful on trying to make sure that that car stays on some higher ground. Wait, that might be a hint for the tech tip quiz.
Maybe. Yeah, it could be. That possibly is. But you want to check your policy and find out what's covered, what's not covered. That way you'll make sure you made some good decisions on that.
And and if for some reason something did happen. And and I've had a lot of cases, I've had many cases where people would come into the shop after a flood, we'd tow their car in. and the engine be locked up. And they would say, Well, how much is an engine? You tell 'em and they oh, no, this is terrible, terrible.
Well, I mentioned to 'em sometime at least call your insurance company and ask 'em. Yeah. And uh many, many times uh a locked up engine can be covered. But it is better not to go through that. It's much better to assume, just in your mind, say it's not covered, and do whatever you can to protect that engine and the vehicle.
Especially, don't drive through any hard, any high-standing water that might suck into that intake manifold. Yeah, no, that's a. There there's a lot of time that's that's used uh with uh engine swap. Yeah. I mean, there's a there's a lot of downtime.
So. If uh if you like driving, then well, a lot of times, but but also when you do that engine swap, it will more likely be a used engine because the insurance company usually would not buy you a uh a remanufactured engine or something like that.
So, you might get a used engine with comparable miles because they want to get you back like you were before the accident happened instead of an upgrade, and and you don't really know how well that car before yours was taken care of. I mean, as far as the servicing and all that, and you may very well know that yours is. been serviced on a regular basis.
So uh it's it's A really good idea to do what you can to preserve your vehicle and make sure that during a storm you're good. Hey, we'll be right back with more. The CNC Auto Show. Motorad is your first choice for vehicle thermostats, caps, sensors, and emerging technologies. In focus today, Motorad VVT Selenoids.

And we're back with you with the CNC Auto Show. I'm Aaron Clemas here with co-host Jamie Bridges. And we're here to talk about cars, answer automotive questions. You give us a call. That's any Saturday morning between 8 and 10.
Number is 800-224-9090. You can also watch us live on Facebook. forward slash facebook.com forward slash cc auto show uh jamie are we ready to go to more calls yeah let's go all right let's go over to Ed. Ed, welcome to the CC Auto Show. What can we help you with?
Yes, sir. I want to say long time listener, first time caller.
Okay. I want to try to answer the tech tip quiz. I think you know what we're going to need to do first. We're going to need to get you up on stage. Correct, yes, sir.
All right, be still. Ha ha ha ha ha ha. Mm-hmm. And you are on stage, and I will read the tech tip quiz. Johnny was driving his Z3 a little too fast.
He got a ticket. He paid the $40 ticket and it saved him over $12,000. How did paying the $40 ticket save him over $12,000? All eyes are on you. What is the answer?
All right, I'd like to think I have a personal experience in this, and that is most. local municipalities, if you pay a A fee right then and there, or within a certain amount of time, it does not get reported to your insurance company. Therefore, the twelve thousand was the Higher insurance rates over the lifetime that he owned the Z3. Oh, wow. And that's pretty cool.
That's a good answer. Good answer. But let's see what the people have to say about that. Oh, no. Um.
You know, I was trying to think of a good hit, Jamie. What you think? Any kind of hint? Um the ticket may not have been a traffic ticket. Yeah.
Yeah, just possibly. All right.
Well, we gave a hint.
So if you decide to give us a call back, you're very welcome. Yes, sir. Hey, I'd like to make one comment about Jamie mentioned the Whistling Diesel Cybertruck tech. Absolutely. That video was hilarious.
If you pay attention or look closely at the very first half of the video where they actually performed the test until they broke the truck, Um that was filmed pretty locally in Barnwell, South Carolina. At a it's a private owned facility, but a lot of your SWAT teams and government How would you say it, special response teams trained there?
So he was able to go there to do that training or do that. testing. But more specifically, if you look at the rollback Um Um You actually can see a local company who delivered the cyber truck for him. I meant to ask George about that this week, but I didn't come across him to see what his experience was and if he broke his bedlocks or not. Correct, yeah, because it was a tough landing.
Oh, my gosh. Yeah, they used that site to film another car show. And dang, I can't remember what it was called right now. It was a. Oh my gosh, the Michelle Rodriguez from the Fast and the Furious movies.
She was uh she was part of it. It was uh whoop something uh the getaway or or something the getaway driver. It was something something like that. Uh Taylor Bryant was behind the scenes on that one, the instructor for Augusta Tech, or Mr. B.
Auto Scholar on YouTube. And uh that was a pretty interesting show too. I'll have to look that one up myself. Yeah, I think it was the getaway driver, but no, that Whistling Diesel video was. I thought that was great.
Yeah, he he can either be love him or hate him depending on what side of the coin you stand on. But I suggest everybody go watch that video and learn a little bit more, not only about the Cybertruck, about F one fifty's as well. Yeah, yeah. No, that uh the F one fifty held up a lot better than I thought it was going to, honestly. Correct, correct.
Yep. Well, thank y'all for your time today. Yeah, thank you. Great call. Thank you for calling us.
Yes, sir. Thank you. Thank you. Okay, your number to call 800-224-9090. If you've got a question about your car, your truck, your SUV, you give us a call.
And one of the next things I wanted to ask you, Jamie, do you think that the color of a car affects the resale value? I would say so. Yeah. I mean, it's it's the especially the older the vehicle gets, some some paint shows imperfections better than other colors do.
So, besides how it was taken care of, whether it's got sw swirl marks or scratches or, you know. That nah. I mean, you know, there's some colors Like I w I like black cars. I wouldn't buy a black car because I don't want to have to try and keep it clean. Yeah, that is the trouble.
Yeah. Yeah. Pink is uh pink is definitely out of the question for me. I try not to buy pink stuff if I can help. I'm not a not a pink kind of girl.
Yeah. Well, uh what colors do you what color cards do you think hold their value the best? Oh Probably red, maybe red, but probably something that's more silver, black, white. That is exactly right. Yeah.
Neutral colors like black, white, and silver tend to retain their value better than the more vibrant colors like the red, the yellow, the more flashy colors.
Well, I'm a sucker. That real deep cherry red, I'm a sucker for that, especially if it's got a good bit of a metallic flake in it. It's such a beautiful color. Oh, I love the way the red looks. I just wouldn't, I probably wouldn't get a red car myself because it's just not me.
And that moves to the next question. Does a color of a car or even the type of car reflect a person's personality? I would say so to some extent. If you were picking it out from new, probably more so than used. A lot of times, used, you kind of.
Take take what's what is available. But if you were picking it out from new, you know, where you had more of a color selection than Yeah, I would say that reflects back on you to an extent.
So so if you let's say that you um You buy a A yellow A yellow Yaris or something like that, a little small yellow car. That would have some effect on showing. I would say that's it. And you know, in saying that, I think that Subaru. Has done an outstanding job with their marketing on marketing to the person who loves nature, loves trees, and all this other stuff.
And I do believe that a Subaru reflects that a person is more of a nature, outdoorsy, things like that. Yeah. Oh I mean, the paints that are popular now for some reason that I really don't care for, it's not a certain color in particular. It's the The flat colors, not that they don't have any clear coat, but they don't have any metallic, any flake in the paint, it's just the. Just a solid figure.
Flat color. I don't know how to else describe it besides flat. I don't think there's much depth to it. And the one that. Every time I see it, it's that gray, and Dodge uses it a lot.
Yeah. And it reminds me of. Being a kid and getting a pack of clay, and after a while, you know, you mix all the colors together and it turns that just blah gray. Every time I see one of those cars, that's what I think about. It's that blob of clay that I had when I was a kid, and just mix it all together.
You insulted a lot of people. I probably did. I'm sorry, but I just don't. I don't know. That gray is just a.
I don't know. It don't grab me that. No, it did. No, not really. But some people love it.
And that's what I'm talking about: it can. Different colors and different vehicles can reflect a person's personality. Like some people drive a Silverado 1500 and some people drive a Ford Maverick. That's true. Yes, I mean, here we go.
All right, we need to um We, I tell you what, we need to do this when we come back. But there's a new app that people can get, and it's not that new, but it's an app where people can actually order their cars like they want them. That more when we return with more of the CNC Auto Show. The CNC Auto Show is brought to you by Blasta Products. Blaster Surface Shield Rust Protected helps stop rust from ever forming in the first place.
Get to know Blasta Products at home, auto, or hardware stores near you and work it like a pro. Welcome back to the CNC Auto Show. I'm your host, Aaron Clemens, here with co-host Jamie Bridges. And on this show, we talk about mostly cars, but we actually talk about anything to do with transportation because we love it. That's what we do.
Every day, all day. Yes, it is. You can watch this show live on facebook.com forward slash CC Auto Show. You can pick it up on iHeart and a lot of the other places that are there. But.
Those are the two most likely places that you can go. And we have uh w during the last hour we gave a lot of tips having to do with flooding and things like that. Plus we discussed just uh we answered some some automotive questions and We uh we have another one. Yeah. Are you ready for us to go to the cause?
Let's go. All right, here we go. Curtis, welcome to the CNC Auto Show. Good morning, how are y'all? Doing great!
What can we help with? Oh. Y'all actually put a transmission in my daughter's car. We picked it up. Friday, I think.
Uh-huh.
Um. On the way home she said the radio started going berserk. Oh, wow. It will it will It was a 20-20 blazer. I told her to bring it back to y'all Monday.
Yeah. Do y'all think it could have any. The two can be related in any kind of way or anything? Anything is possible. That's what I normally tell people.
And this may help others if they take their car in to be repaired. Technicians, talking about different things that can happen, I always tell people technicians have elbows, so there might be something that you think is completely not related, can be related. Usually, that wouldn't be because usually when you're doing the transmission, you disconnect the battery and then connect it back. But. Weird things can happen.
So, without question, I'd recommend carrying it back by. And I'm not sure which location this one was at, whether it was downtown or one of the other locations. It was Washington Road. Yeah, yeah, that's Marty over there. And there's no doubt in my mind that they would love to get it back.
And there's a chance I've seen some cases to where. If a radio goes berserk like that, you can disconnect the battery for a period of time and it and and plug it back and sometimes that's like doing a hard reset on the radio and sometimes that solves the problem. Not every time. But without question, definitely want to find out. I thought I remembered hearing something about those infotainment systems and Uh doing just a real quick Google search a second ago, it looks like a lot of people have had problems with those infotainment radio screens.
Mm-hmm. So there may I don't know if the dealership itself has some kind of a a workaround for it or reset procedure, but I mean really it at Could go either way, but it looks like based on uh seeing other people have problems, it's probably something with the truck itself. Mm-hmm. But definitely little shout out to something y'all could Is this something y'all might could could help us with or? Uh well, if it's um the first step, let's find out what's wrong.
That's always the first step. and see what's going on and then we go from there. All right.
All right.
Well, we've had some other work done with y'all in the past. I got a bunch of work trucks and everything else, and everything's been really good.
Well, we appreciate that. A one shot Stop, and that's what that's really what I like.
Well, we appreciate that very much. Thank you. All right.
Well, we appreciate it. Thank you. Same here. Have a fantastic day. And the number to call is 800-224-9090.
If you have a question about your car, your truck, your SUV, you give us a call, and we will go over to. Ron in Appling and Welcome to the show, Ron. How are you doing? Yeah, mostly fine. Aaron, Jamie, tell me, guys, do y'all consider.
the use of our highways a right or a privilege? It's a privilege. Uh, privilege. That's what I always thought. Mm-hmm.
Yeah, that's what I always thought. Yeah. didn't they pass a law years ago about uh putting in uh Can it windshields and windows? to a point to where you couldn't see in them. Yeah, I I think there is a law there there's some kind of meter that they use to the the the how much light passes through one side to the other now.
Tinted windshields are illegal in Georgia. You can have a tent strip at the top, but it can It can only be, I don't know, maybe four inches deep. Yes, it's something like that, but. No, uh that's he didn't most it's great to have laws, but if you don't enforce them, They're kind of useless, you know? Yeah.
And I don't know if you guys have ever been in a car that's been tented heavily. In a rainstorm, like y'all were talking earlier about if you have to ride drive in a rainstorm. The first thing that you have to do is turn your lights on bright just so you can see. And then you're harming other people coming towards you with your bright lights on, and they're already having trouble seeing. But I see more and more vehicles out in the road now That you can't see.
Uh it it's almost like the wind the glass surrounding the vehicle is blacked out. And I mean, you take just for instance these the problem that we have with people leaving children in cars. There's no way you could see a child in a car that was in distress if that windshield or those glasses are tended so heavily. Yeah. It's a safety matter.
It's just like with South Carolina with the squatted cars, doing away with those, making them illegal. When the automobile industry spends billions of dollars a year. to manufacture cars that are road safe And then when we get them, They got all these shops. that that's out there to circumvent it. And jack these vehicles up where you need a ladder to get in them.
If you're in an invasive evasive situation where you need to do some radical changes to avoid an accident, those vehicles are going to flip over. Yeah, they very well can. Yeah. That's what I say. Though all the laws in the world are great, but if you don't enforce them, they're kind of useless.
Well, I think with the tinted windows, one of the big issues is, and I know I would feel this way if I was a police officer. Could you imagine a police officer having to pull over a car and the windows being completely blacked out to where you can't see inside the vehicle? That would make me nervous also to do that.
Well, if I were if. If I remember correctly, that was the initial reason for them to outlaw it. Like uh Jamie said, they have uh a meter that's supposed to uh uh show how much light can is supposed to be able to go through those windows and if it doesn't meet those parameters, Uh they have to uh take them out. And uh but y you see more and more cars. I mean, not just tinted like in the old days where it was a light tint.
I mean, black tinted where you can't see nothing. Yep. You do see that. That's just it. That's what I want.
I wanted to call in and vent my anger.
Well, I'm glad. I mean. You know, the I've always said the way I spell freedom. Is CAR. And if I can't get in my car and go where I want to go and do what I want to do or need to do, uh i it only ma it just makes life miserable when the you you're out there on the road and you got obstacles in front of you, behind you, overhead, everywhere.
Uh-huh.
But guys, look, I really enjoy listening to your show, and y'all have a great safe weekend. Thanks. And we always appreciate you calling, Ron. Thank you. All right.
Bye-bye.
Okay. The number to call is 800-224-9090. If you have a question about your car, your truck, your SUV, you give us a call, and we'll be right back after these messages. KCL Ultimate is now available at Walmart. And remember, don't just seal it, K-Seal it. Everybody, welcome you back to the CNC Auto Show. I'm Aaron Clemens here with co-host Jamie Bridges. Jamie, we're ready?
We're ready.
Okay, let's go. Here we go. Let's go over to Ray in Canton, Mississippi. Hello, Ray. Welcome to the show.
Yeah. Yes, sir. I've got a A9 toy to pick up. The smog pump has gone out, and of course, a air conditioner runs off of it and it's hard to find a spot pump. Is there any way I can What make it operable?
Mm-hmm. Uh will you If you don't do emissions testing where you are, you can remove the smog pump. Add an idler in the system somewhere, just an idler pulley, but you're gonna have to make a block-off plate. from where the smog pump mounted. And then there's some vacuum lines associated with that you'll have to find and cap off.
Okay. Have you looked online to see if they make any type of delete kit for that? I know that on some vehicles that, let's say, the air compressor goes out on some vehicles, they make a delete kit where you can just put an idler pulley there. I don't know if there's one special mate. There may be somewhere online somewhere because that 22R and the 22RE are such popular engines.
Mm-hmm. Um, you may be able to find a a s an idler kit that it'll just bolt right on in place of the smog pump. And a block off plate. And of course, it's just like Jamie said, if you don't have a mission testing, you'd be able to just put just about anything that would hold the belt on there. Yeah.
Would work. And I don't know if there's any way to stretch a belt on there or not. They do some vehicles now. We had a Ford Escape the other day. I think it was an Escape come in and no adjustments on the belt at all.
You have to just have a special tool for the belt to go on there. And of course, there's cases where you might be able to get a, if all you're driving. After that, would be the AC. You might be able to stretch a belt on there. And make it where it would hold.
It's not going to be easy though, and you'll bust up a few knuckles getting it done, but that's also a little bit of an option. But an idler pulley is no doubt the better option. Yeah. All right, thanks a lot, guys.
Well, we thank you. We appreciate it, and have a fantastic day.
Okay, the number of the call, 800-224-9090. If you have a question about your car, your truck, your SUV, you give us a call. And we will go to the next caller, and that will be... Bruce. Bruce, welcome to the CNC Auto Show.
Okay, that's not working. Let's try again.
Okay, it is supposed to be working. Uh man okay. Hello. Yes, sir. Welcome to the CNC Auto Show, and what can we help you with?
Hey, love your show. Thank you so much for getting me on. I'm law enforcement, retired after thirty years. I just want to respond to the tent that the gentleman was calling about earlier. The vehicle is, you know, yes, it is illegal in Georgia.
That's all I can speak to, because this is Georgia. Um but The vehicle is an extension of your house. It's fully believed. I'm one of those people after 30 years. Your safety is your responsibility, not the government's.
And Therefore, Kent, for example, you were talking about law enforcement coming up and like for their safety, not being able to see inside. I was on SWAT for twenty two years, and not once did I go to my sheriff And tell him that I didn't want people to have blinds and shades on their windows, or I wanted them to have glass doors because I was scared. You're scared, you're in the wrong business. And I've driven with tents. and undercover cars and my law if you look at the law enforcement vehicles, Um, Georgia State Patrol, other vehicles that they have tint on there is very, very dark tint, and that's before privacy because they have stuff in there and also um that you shouldn't be able to see, but that also extends out to the private citizen.
Um, there's things in my car. I don't want you to see my kids. I don't want you to see what I have inside my car. I carry weapons inside my car because that's my right to do so. And I don't want them exposed.
It's it's a real catch twenty two, but that whole thing about someone else's safety, like like seat belts. the government has it where you have to wear a seatbelt.
Well, that should be up to the individual if they put it on or not. It should be up to the insurance company, for example. I know USAA had it where if you were not if you were in an accident, didn't have your seatbelt on, they won't cover you.
Well, there you go. That's that's that's how the private sector goes in there and gets things done. But I mean, we're going to put warning labels on everything in the world. I mean, some things just got to be common sense at some point. I know I'm probably not very popular with people in stances like this.
But again, I'm after thirty years, I've really grown to see at first i thought oh i'm here to help everybody but no people got to help themselves yeah and that's all i had to respond on but i think you're doing great and i love that for people to be able to call and at the same time you don't have to a person don't have to have the same point of view to be able to have a beautiful conversation because that's how a lot of problems get solved now on my end i'm gonna still stick by what i said if i was a police officer i would not want to pull a car over with completely darked out windows and me not be able to see inside because i that would make me very nervous and and uh and that's why we have a pa system and we would actually we have protocols for that where we would call them out driver oh you know turn off your engine open your door, exit your vehicle, come to the rear bumper. And at the same time, you're You know what I mean? There's ways around that. There's not just. Anyway, but while I got you, thank you.
Thank you. And I enjoy your show so much, and I love it. But do you mind if I ask one quick question? This is a question I asked a gentleman. I work with a person in Washington, D.C., and he helps.
He knows a lot of people there. And I was talking to him the other day about some other things having to do with the automotive industry. But I asked him, why are we not to the point to where we don't even have to on the average? Time, why do we have to pull a car over? I mean, you got you got a picture you can take of the how fast the car is going.
You got a picture that you can take of the tag.
Now, the only thing is you won't be able to see the person inside. But of course, when you get in a parking ticket, you Placing that with the car.
So is there a chance that one of them Well, they can, but the only thing is that if that car kept on going at a high rate of speed, let's say it's speeding, for example, if it's a high rate of speed and ends up causing an accident like five miles up the road, then you as the officer that did not pull that car over with your due diligence did not You basically help facilitate that accident. Does that make sense if you'd be responsible for that if you just let that person go? That's the only thing. But no, I mean, having them in the camera areas. and all that stuff.
Um I I I'm totally for that, um, one hundred percent. Um 'cause cops can't be everywhere um at once, but I mean we have 88 thousand laws, I think, in the in the United States. The founding fathers would Turn over in their grave if they knew we had that made. And it's like one of those things. I mean, why do I have a speedometer that says 100 miles per hour?
Um Why not just have cars that can only go 70 miles? You know, I mean, there's there's there's a real fine line on how much Responsibility the government takes over and how much is on the private citizen themselves.
So, anyway, that's Bruce. I hope you fall back a lot more. I like talking with you. Thank you. I like talking to you.
Thank you. Bye-bye.
Bye-bye.
And we'll be right back with more of the CNC Auto Show. We were singing by this American pie. I go from the shed to the left, don't the levy. There was God. Them good old boys been drinking whiskey and rye and singing this'll be the day that I die.
This'll be the day that I die. And we are back with you with the CNC Auto Show. I'm Aaron Clements here with co-host Jamie Bridges. We're live on, well, we're not. We're not live.
We've been doing so many shows on remote that I'm automatically saying that, but we're not live on remote this time. We are in the studio doing the show this time, which it feels kind of good to be in here every now and then.
Okay, number to call 800-224-9090. If you've got a question about your car, your truck, your SUV, you give us a call, and we will go over to another tip having to do with flooding. When approaching a depth of standing water on a road, always slow down before you go through it. I think that's the same thing. Of course, when you read that, you picture a car going kind of slow through something.
But also, if you're going pretty fast down the highway and you see a big blank spot of water, you don't know exactly how low that or deep that water is going to be. And it only takes a few. Inches to hydroplane.
Well, not even, yeah, not even a few inches. If it's a moving sheet of water, you can still hydroplane across that. And I. People don't consider uh Have you ever walked through a parking lot? in the rain and walked across one of the the stripes that they put down to to mark out the parking spots, those stripes, the the paint gets slick in in the rain.
That's the same thing with the stripes down the side of the road. They'll get those get slick too.
So if you're not careful and you catch the catch the stripe just right.
So, you need to be very careful when you see, and even when you're going slow, if you see some water down there, and also it's a good idea to, as you're going through water like that, and there's cars in front of you, kind of see what happens to them. Let them be the guinea pigs. Yeah. And you can judge the height of the water by the other cars that are going through it.
Well, yeah, be conscious of if if you're following a an expedition, you know, in your, you know. little uh Honda Civic, you know, the expedition makes it doesn't mean the Honda Civic's gonna make it, so But another thing you might be able to do, well, protect your car and also protect others in the neighborhood. If you're expecting a big storm to come up, with storms comes a lot of heavy wind. And if you've got things around your yard that may uh may fly in the wind, uh like umbra large umbrellas that you have, things like that, uh those things can fly up against your car. I mean, and you you would have a case of your car not Terribly damaged, but instead, you have this great big umbrella that goes flying across the yard and boom, right into the side of your car.
And that, of course, can cause a lot of damage.
So, and not to mention the safety aspect of that, things like that can go through windows and a lot of other things.
So, before a storm, not only on your car, walk around your car and find out if there's things that might be like a bicycle rack or things like that that you think. May not. Cause a problem, but in a heavy wind, it could just make sure everything is all either removed, things like that, or put them in a garage or a basement or something like that to get them out of the way to where the wind won't pick them up and take off with them.
Okay, the number to call 800-224-9090. Got a question about your car, your truck, your SUV.
Next thing we'll mention, one of the world's first self-navigating robot is the Vayou1, and it can deliver up to 100 pounds at 20 miles an hour. I think we're going to be seeing a lot more things like that as time goes on. Different ways for people to deliver items out. Amazon, all these other places. Of course, the drones were one thing, but now I think this is a little more feasible or easily obtainable.
than uh than the drone delivery. 'Cause you're not fighting with air traffic. You're Sort of Little guy coming down the sidewall. This I mean, it looks like a What would you say? I mean, it looks like a big.
Cooler, maybe. I mean Kinda not really. But on little tiny wheels. It's just a a pod, a driverless pod. but it can actually navigate the streets.
By itself, it's sort of autonomous in the way that it can drive through there and know which way to turn. And I guess. One of the things that um that kind of equates to is you see the little things in like uh Sam's uh or or I don't know if Costco's got those or not, but the big uh the floor cleaners and Oh, the automated ones, yeah. Those things are kind of neat 'cause I I was seeing it in a I was standing in Sam's and this thing the little the Zamboni just comes around the corner. And I mean, it is dodging and weaving people.
Somebody's standing in the way it moves.
Well, these would work very much the same way. They would only, it would just go to an address of somewhere that it's supposed to go to. Yeah, I wonder how many parts I could fit inside of that thing. That would solve my delivery driver problem. It says 100 pounds at 20 miles an hour.
Oh, well, that's not even two brake drums. It sounds like that's going to be made for more like big cities to deliver papers and food. Food. Yeah. See some with Chick-fil-A and Taco Bell on them for too long.
Exactly.
Ready to go to calls? Yeah, let's go. All right.
Let's go over and talk to Donna. Donna, welcome to the CNC Auto Show. What can we help with? Oh, thank you. You know what?
I waited an hour for you to announce the phone number. I kept waiting for the phone number. I was like, oh, my God.
So I had to turn on the computer to try to look it up, and then that's when you announced it after an hour. Oh, well. I'll do it more often from now on. I'll tell you what. Yeah, he would appreciate it.
Oh, my God. I listened to 100 ads, and I'm going to say it now. He's going to say it.
Well, thanks. You bet. Listen, just before I get to my issue, I just wanted to mention you had an issue about the taxing the mileage on cars. Yes, that's part of funding the climate scam and the controlling thing. We already pay gas taxes for all the roads and bridges, and they're not even fixing them.
So that's really what that whole thing is all about.
So I am completely against taxing mileage. You know, one more thing on top of what we already pay. Yeah, I there's a room full of people that's sitting around, large rooms of people sitting around figuring out a new way to, hey, let's make this tax. What about this? Yeah, yeah, and uh, because they're doing such a good job with the money they already get, right?
Exactly.
I think there should be some good oversight on that part of it. Oh, yeah. In other words, don't tax the mileage, just one more thing. But I have a problem. It's the weirdest thing.
And I'm glad you mentioned up that mentioned that you like the backup camera. We have a car that has a backup camera, but it only shows the photo of the back. when I turn my turn signal on, but it only shows the orange lines when I'm actually backing up.
So I just casually noticed one time when I turned on my turn signal, the backup cameras went.
So my husband had bought a camera to replace it, but that wasn't the problem because it works.
So is it bad wiring? Did they wire the backup cameras to the turn signals? If I'm not mistaken, what type of vehicle is this again? It's a Honda, a cord.
Okay. Now is that one of the models that when you turn the l the turn signal on, it will show you the camera that's on that particular side so that you can see behind you on that side, the the turn signal? It doesn't work all the time. It never works when I'm backing up. It never works, but if you get too close to a car, it'll do that.
And I only noticed it when I turned on my turn signal. I said, Oh my goodness, my backup camera's working, but it doesn't work when I'm backing up.
So, this this is an aftermarket backup camera that you have installed. It's not a factory one? No, we it was the one that came with the car, but what happened was somebody hit a beautiful other car and we had to get this one.
So this this came with the car, but so because the backup camera wasn't working on it, that's when my husband went out and bought another one to see if, you know, to put it in, but that didn't fix the problem.
So we're still with the same situation as when we got the car. Yeah, no, it's it sounds like it's the power wire is hooked up improperly. You have power, but from the wrong place. It it should activate when you're in reverse, and it sounds like it's activating when your turn signal is on. But you also have proximity sensors, so that's why it knows that you're close to something.
Even though you can't see anything, so that's a a separate a separate thing, but Yeah, no, it it sounds like it's pulling power from the wrong place. It has to have an input from reverse to show to tell the camera that it is in reverse. And if it don't get that signal, then it won't uh the camera won't cut on. Did he install it himself or did someone install the camera? Mm.
Um When we got the car originally, that was the problem. And so he was told, we were told $600 at the dealership, so he went and got a camera for $50 online and then put it in. It didn't work, so he took it back out.
So we're still with the original situation.
So I'm wondering, how do I tell the dealer which power line, or can they just Do a search there on it and see if the wrong power wire is hooked up and if the input from the reverse is working. Yeah, so somebody's gonna. Gonna need a schematic and to take it back apart and rewire it. That's the only way they're gonna fix it.
Okay, okay, so rewiring. Okey-doke.
Well, thank you. That has been perplexing us, and I couldn't believe it when I turned on my signal. I said, I'm not even backing up, but my turn signal's on, and it's working.
So. Yeah, no, we do it. Good.
Okay, thanks. Thank you for announcing your phone number. Oh, we will. We'll do that for. Thank you.
And we'll be right back with more of the CNC Auto Show. The CNC Auto Show is brought to you in part by Clarios, the world's largest producer of automotive AGM batteries, which are precision engineered to meet the electrical demands we put on today's vehicles. Learn more at autobatteries.com. Coolant leaks can be tricky as the cause may be any number of problems. K-Sil is a one-step permanent multi-purpose system for coolant leak repair.
We recently sat down with Mike Slupp, managing director of KCL International. Mike talked about overheating engines. What does it really mean?
So, overheating is a sign of possible low coolant as a result of a coolant leak because there isn't anything left to cool it down.
Now, some common sense testing includes looking for liquid puddles underneath your car. If you see that, rub the substance between your thumb and forefinger. If it's oily and clear-colored, it's probably coolant. Also, check the level of your coolant expansion tank and make note of misfires or rough-running engines. In the case of overheating, we recommend adding K-Seal multi-purpose coolant leak repair to the cooling system so it can find the leak and seal it.
It's designed to seal leaks in all hard parts of the cooling system and comes with a money-back guarantee. Find more 60-second problem solvers at kseal.com. Don't just seal it, K-seal it. Autozone number. That as a professional, you have to manage a lot of moving parts to run your business.

And what can we help with? I'm calling for the tech tip quiz there, Aaron. Oh, my goodness. We're going to need to lay out the. The red carpet.
The red carpet. Yes, and we're going to need to call Blue in with his trumpet. Come on in, Blue. Mm-hmm. Thank you, Blue.
We appreciate that.
Okay, and the question was. The Tech Tip quiz is, Johnny was driving his Z3 a little too fast. He got a ticket. He paid the $40 ticket and it saved him over $12,000. How did paying the $40 ticket save him over $12,000?
And Tim, all eyes are on you. What is the answer to today's Tech Tip quiz? Yeah. But let me first say that I Have been a tech tip winner, but that was like 10 years ago. And my this could be a big moment for the CMT.
It is my CNC automotive hat. You know, I wear when I cut the grass or work on a car, it's pretty oily and dirty. It's it's terrible looking, but Um So the guy the speed was because he was late. He went to the VLA. Paid the forty bucks, the car went on a higher elevation.
Yeah. the parking garage and It flooded the the area got flooded and but his car did not. Wow, wait a minute, let's see what the judges have to say about that. Yeah. And you can see it.
So You're absolutely right. And actually, he was driving too fast to get to the parking deck downtown because the flooding was about to begin. A flood was coming, and he wanted to get his car to higher ground. He didn't have comprehensive insurance. And when he pulled in, he got the ticket for parking out of the little machine.
And then he went up to the third floor. And the water outside rose to over three feet deep. But the street, that was out on the street. But in the parking garage, it was nice and dry.
So he was able to keep his car dry. And of course, three feet with a Z3 would pretty much total out a Z3.
So that would have cost him about $12,000, or he would have just lost his car pretty much.
So he got it to higher ground. And then when he left that later, he paid the $40 parking ticket. to build a part there, and he drove the car home and everything was fine. And Tim, you are officially a Tech Tip quiz winner a second time. Do you feel any different, Tim?
I got tears in my eyes. Oh, I can tell. It's sounding like it. That's pretty awesome.
Well, I'm going to get you to hang on the line, and Mason, the producer in there, he's going to get your information. And we're going to make you send you out not only a water bottle, but we're going to include a fresh new hat with that. How's that? That's great. I certainly appreciate it.
Thank you. And we appreciate it too. All right, I'm going to put him over to where Mason can talk to him. And get that.
Okay, the number to call 800-224-9090. If you have a question about your car, your truck, or SUV. Yeah. You give us a call. And we will go over to the next caller here.
Oh, wait. That might be somebody with the quiz. No. No, yeah.
Okay, yeah. Don't do that one.
Okay. We're good. All right.
So the next uh the next item that we will mention here has to do with the Let's see here. What did I have down?
Okay, number of parts on a car. Jamie, do you have any idea? How many parts are on a vehicle? Oh, it's It's a lot. Twenty twenty five thousand?
You got far off. 30,000. That's a lot. Yeah. That's on an average average vehicle.
And you know, some cars have sixty, eighty computers or more. Yeah. Now, uh, because uh driving just about everything in there.
So they um Cars are a complex item now. There's a lot of different systems working together. And I've worked on cars for many, many years, and I love this industry. And that's part of the reason, it never gets boring. No, it's constantly evolving.
Yeah, there's always new things. And we don't have about a minute, but I'm just curious to ask you: what do you think cars will look like in. let's say twenty years. Oh, boy. I you know, I I think internal combustion engines en engines are going to be a thing of the past.
I think that over time, we're going to find a way to get away from them. And if you see internal combustion, it's going to be As a strictly weekend leisure vehicle for car shows. And if maybe they won't let you crank them up, but I do think that that is the way that. Our world is going to be. I don't think that'll happen.
No. I think there will be a large percentage of cars will be EV cars. But I think we will still have ICE engines for many years to come. Maybe possibly not 20, but it will be for many, many years to come. I feel like we'll have ICE engines, but they'll be better than ever.
They'll run off of just minute amount of fuel. Hopefully so. We're out of time. All right.
We'll have to talk more about this next week.
Okay, it's time to shut it down for this week. We'll be back next week with more of the CNC Auto Show. A big thank you to co-host Jamie Bridges and show host Mason Rogers. And thank you to all you that tuned in and called in. We'll see you next week with more of the CNC Auto Show.
A failing variable intake manifold control system can cause rough running and throw off a check engine light. The original equipment intake manifold on certain Hyundai and Kia vehicles fail when the pivot linkage connecting the two variable intake flapper valve shafts shears from fatigue. This Dorman OE fix intake manifold has been completely re-engineered for greater durability. The flapper valve shafts are made from thicker material for improved strength, and the shafts are supported by additional bearings to reduce stress points that lead to failure in the factory design. It matches the original manifold's dimensions for trouble-free installation and has been quality.
tested to ensure a long service life. It's another Dorman OE Fix, an exclusive Dorman engineered part that corrects a specific failure in an original part or allows replacement of only the failed part as opposed to the entire assembly or modifies design to significantly reduce installation time. With applications for a large number of vehicles, you can find a Dorman Intake Manifold in addition to other products at most automotive retailers and at dormanproducts.com.
