Good evening, everybody. Welcome into the Winkler Verse. I'm Bart Winkler. We are live at the Pottawattamie Sports Book. This is the seven hundred and seventy seventh episode of Into the Winkler Verse.
Four years in the running. I hear some applause. I hear some applause. Yeah, we got some special guests with us that you may know, and we'll bring them in here as we go on here. But we are live tonight, and we are live after a Bucks loss.
Now we're at Poto Sportsbook, and there's a lot of TV screens that you can see a little bit of the reflection behind me. On the main screen tonight is the WNBA, so I was a little worried about what would be behind me because it's in the reflection. I was worried that whoever. You know rights and all that kind of stuff, but I think the WNBA is going to say any outlet we can get, we will take.
So the Winkler verse is a proud podcast rights holder of the WNBA. I'm being told this is the WNBA finals. Who knew? The crowd at Pato knew because there's a lot of people here watching this game. Believe it or not, like for this game, I know the Bucks were here tonight.
Giannis, they're getting killed right now by 19. There's Bulls Raptors over here. There's a football game randomly going on, but the WNBA's got the big screen, and that is what is drawing a crowd here with reaction.
So if you hear any random cheering throughout the night, it's going to be for the WNBA. The Bucks lost one eighteen to one hundred eight.
Some quick takes on the game. I feel like what you saw tonight is what you're going to see a lot. Where you're feeling optimistic, might even be a lead in the first half. By the third quarter, it's kind of close, and then they're going to lose.
So if you're somebody that wants to gamble, probably bet on them to lose. Certainly, don't bet five hundred dollars on them to win thirty plus games. All I need for them to do is win like one out of every three games. And I'll get the thirty games.
So they lost tonight. Win one of the next two, and you should be fine. Again, this is episode seven seven seven. We're live at Pato Sports Book. We got the drinks a flowing.
I just put my thumb into the ranch. This is the fullback platter. Thank you, the John Coon fullback platter, and it says every bit is good. As John Coon, which was a compliment. That was a compliment.
Joining me live on location as I'll move a little bit here, it's my good buddy Tim Shea. Tim's got new World Series merch. Where'd you get that? Rally House, baby blue, last one, extra large too, not double X, which I can't believe I fit. Slimming down.
So might be slimming down here. You were just at the Marquette game, yeah.
Soccer, women's soccer, yeah. How'd they do? They lost two to one. Did your niece score? She actually, well, there's controversy.
We don't know.
Well, well. Oh, there was a goal, but was it an own goal? No, there's a goal. She scored, but they counted it as an assist.
So why? I we I don't know. We'll we'll we'll we'll get that figured out in the next day or so. Um, somebody just commented the exact thing that Q wanted me to say as a joke. Yeah, what's up?
Good, good to see you, Tim. Right? Yep. Hey, Mark. Um, introduce yourself to these guys, Ben, Q.
That one. We got a little bit of a crew here. I'll just go around. If you want any food, I got the platter. I'm gonna put you guys on.
We got Q here, Ben's here, Tim's here, two Tims. Um, I got a tab, so if they come over and you want a beverage, feel free. That big B bowl. These are wipes. Pick at that.
This is really good. I'm not gonna eat two. Um, you want something? I'm good right now. I just had a cheese curd.
All right. I just told him that, but that was that was fine. Your hot take, Jake's neighbor. Yeah. Oh, yeah.
He just said Tim's your neighbor. That's the neighbor. Yeah. All right, let's talk Bucks a little bit.
So you probably watched none of the game. I watched none of it. I was following it on my phone, so I saw they were winning for a while, and then I think the fourth quarter.
Okay, I am going to come back to you. We're gonna talk some brewers. Let's talk later. We need to talk timeless ticket. Yes, yes.
We need to we need to talk how that guy got milkshake ducks. All right, Q is here. Hello, Q is here early. Q, show the people what you have. I have two ripped up Bucks tickets.
One was for the Bucks money line, which they they did not hit, and then the other one was for Tyler Hero. At five, three pointers made. He made four, so a couple ripped up tickets. We got a couple more on Giannis. What are the Giannis ones?
Uh, it's he's getting close on thirty-five points. I think he's at like thirty-one or thirty-two, and then I've got one at it's uh forty-five for points, rebounds, assists, and then I got a. A heat money line, which does not look good. No, they're down nineteen with eight to go. Luckily, that was a smaller bet, and then I got a couple World Series props.
So, this I'm excited about this one. Plus seventeen hundred for Christian Yelich, most stolen bases in the World Series. It seems like an interesting bet. These are how QBs bets. Are going yeah.
So don't trust Big Ron for bets. Not me, or I guess he's just Ron now, Ron in Jersey. But plus one thirty-five. Can we get our money back on these? Plus one thirty-five for any game in the World Series ending in a walk-off.
It's the Brewers. It feels like house money here.
Okay, especially with potentially that's just ten to go twenty-three. Yeah. I always feel like these odds are smaller, like over under. I feel like if you do over under, the odds need to just be. You're waiting the whole season for the bet.
I like the over, especially because the ratings. Yeah, World Series ending walk off. Yeah, and then this is plus seven fifty. Get it up there. Got picture being taken.
Hell yeah! All right, plus 750 for William Contreras to have most RBIs in the series.
Okay, so so if you want to know what not to bet on, that would be don't follow my lead.
So Shaq, Shaq's joining our stream. Shaq O'Neill three two three four. I think that's actually Shaq. I thought he was on the ESPN broadcast for watching here.
Well, he doesn't have to go on yet. Shaq says Bucks were actually fun and not at short to watch tonight. Enjoyed the new look team. You watched this whole game start to finish. You were here.
Q. Your takeaways. Um, I, Berries had some man moves. I'd say.
Okay, Berries. He he looked, he looked like he belonged. I think. I think he had some foul trouble early, so he's gonna have to work through that. But, you know who else had foul trouble early in their career?
Giannis Antetokounmpo. Orthon, but Giannis did as well.
So I don't know. I think like Shaq said, seems like a promising start. Seemed like a lot of energy and effort out there, which the team has lacked at least the last year, maybe longer.
So should be a fun season with lower expectations, unless you have. A large bet for thirty wins. Yeah, but I've already lowered my expectations quite a bit. Yeah, I do think there's enough. It's one game, okay.
And I don't know how much preseason everybody watched. I didn't watch a lot, but you you got the four guys from the Heat. You're the four guys from the Heat. You have some good holdovers, or good enough. It just it's not a twenty five win team, and we're gonna find that out.
I think some people are upset about Kevin Porter Jr. not being on the team. I think that he's just not in their future plans. I mean, if you have like Kevin Porter Jr. to me, isn't a guy that you're going to.
He's not a missing piece. He's not someone that you're going to have on a rebuilding team. He's on a team like the Bucks were last year, where it's like. We might get in. We might not.
He can help us for a little bit of a run. I'm not heartbroken that Kevin Porter Jr. is not on this team. I don't think we're going to lose. I don't think we win.
It's not. Oh well. We had Kevin Porter Jr. We would have won six to eight more games. Um, I I just I don't know that that it seemed to be more of a sticker shock than Kevin Porter Jr.
was not worth a eulogy. That he's not on the bucks anymore, and I think it might have cost us some wins this year, but long term, I think it frees us up at the logjam at guard, and it like Burries might not have played as much tonight if KPJ was there.
So I think that'll be a long term benefit to this, and also like. I mean, we're just a guard-heavy team right now.
So, and the fact that they couldn't find a trade suitor for Kevin Porter Jr. It just doesn't look good. Like, and like when he signed that extension with us, I I was just I was surprised at the dollar amount. Like, I thought there would just be more. Demand for him than there obviously was so, yeah.
I mean, like you said, it would have been, it would have been cool if he stuck around, but I don't know. He just doesn't meet the timeline anymore.
So, a couple of comments. Enough Q.
Okay, that's rude. It's right here. You can see the comments. You can see the comments. That's okay.
This is fun. Brewers win World Series. What does that one say? Read it. That's from Carsten.
Brewers win World Series. I can handle a horrible Buck season. Talk to me in February. Porter Junior was what too wild.
So part of the reading comments is on the fly. You also have to guess what you think they're trying to say. I think Porter Junior was way too wild. Oh yeah. In the eyes.
A L O L nine six three two. Watched every preseason game. Where and Kuzma are a major weak spot on the team, and I think a couple comments before he called, where a seven foot Kuzma. We're fouled out way too early. Corey says Yaquez was a dog tonight.
Burris is going to be a solid pro. Let Hero throw up shots for stats and trade them. Best move they made this off season was the head coach. Yeah, and we're in a point again. Where we might have to, and I am gonna shuttle.
I'm gonna put Ben in here. Yeah, we can trade. We're gonna put Ben in here. We're not done with Q, but we're shuttling in Ben. Do you want to grab something?
That's our guy. Ryan Reynolds here from Mint Mobile. I don't know if you knew this, but anyone can get the same premium wireless for fifteen dollars a month plan that I've been enjoying. It's not just for celebrities.
So do like I did and have one of your assistant's assistants switch you to Mint Mobile today. I'm told it's super easy to do at mintmobile. dot com slash switch. Upfront payment of forty five dollars for three month plan, equivalent to fifteen dollars per month, required. Intro rate first three months only, then full price plan options available.
Taxes and fees extra. Default terms at mintmobile. dot com. Granger knows if you're a procurement manager at an industrial manufacturing facility, you're balancing inventory and budget while sourcing critical supplies across the operation. Too much inventory, cost climb.
Too little, production. Slows. Granger's two billion dollars in on-hand inventory helps you get what you need when you need it, so you can help keep budgets balanced and lines moving. Call one eight hundred Granger, click Granger dot com, or just stop by Granger for the ones who get it done. All right, um, Ben.
Making the track. Good to see you. Thanks for having me, Bart. We're not in a. Oh, I didn't get you crazy, did I?
Did you get crazy? We're not in a situation where, I think we might have to train ourselves out of this after a loss. Whatever. After a loss, it's fine. Um.
Oh, we get some money to play with. Wisconsin Sports is giving us five bucks to put on buries for Rookie of the Year. Matt wants to know how long are you staying? Are we playing some blackjack or roulette? You didn't see me out my head.
You're gonna play? I'll probably go blackjack. I'm a little cash poor right now. I maybe like five or ten. I put five hundred dollars on the bucks to win thirty games, and I'm going to game five in Tampa.
Although blackjack would win my money back, that would be good.
So thank you for that. And we'll make that bet if you give me the money for the bet, I'll go make that bet. He might have a, I don't know. Um, Alex says loss to the Wizards. It's a heck of a lot worse.
Miami is Milwaukee south, so that's another thing. We're watching that game here. They're down fourteen. Miami is. I do care.
Twenty four. Oh, twenty-four, Jesus! Yeah, yeah. I want them to lose. Outside of children, Ben, have you?
Unless you are, you don't want Giannis to do good, do you? I'm indifferent. I don't think you will do well. You want Giannis to do good? Why?
I don't want Giannis to do good. I don't think a lot of Bucks fans want him to do good. I think the sentiment is. The main sentiment of an average Bucks fan, in my opinion, which you are not supposed to say in talk radio, because of course it's your opinion you are saying it, is we all love Giannis. Nobody got rid of his jerseys, nobody burned them.
No, I still got my Giannis jersey. I do. I have a Giannis jersey, and when he comes back. I'm gonna cheer for him. I'm gonna be there.
I'm gonna be like this meant so much to us. But I don't want to see him until then. Like I'm not even gonna hate watch the Heat. I don't want to see him. I don't want to see him in my commercials.
I don't want to see him on TV. I don't want to see him anywhere. By the way, I should put up this special announcement. If you want to watch Giannis with me and Tim Shea, we are going to invite you out here to Potawatomi on November 18th, and we're going to have, and I'm putting it at the crawl. We're going to kind of have what's going on here, and you're invited.
So what we're going to do is November 18th. I think at this point you can just grab the food. I don't think anyone else is eating. Take it, take it, big man. But on November eighteenth, the Bucks play the Heat.
It's a Wednesday night, I believe. Tim and I are going to watch the game, probably from right here in this same booth at the sports book. And two people will be next to us.
Now you guys can come and say hi, of course. But there will be two people next to, and we're gonna buy you dinner, and we're gonna cover your tab, and we're gonna watch the game together, and then we can do a show after too. But if you want to be involved in that, I've got an email set up into the Winklerverse at gmail dot com, into the Winklerverse at gmail dot com. Just tell me who you are and like your phone number or something, so I can reach you or your emails. Just I need an email.
Um. Later on, when I get around to it, I will use your email to spam you with a newsletter I'm making.
So that's why I'm doing this contest. There's something in it for me. But I feel like if you're willing to sit next to me and Tim for two and a half hours, you're willing to get a newsletter from me.
So you would have signed up anyway.
So that's that email is live, and I'll keep the thing up for people. That come in. Cap Jack says didn't realize the sports book was an actual location. Yeah, that's why we're here. I'll kind of show you some of it.
We got Ben there. We got Q. There's the book. Plenty of places to sit. Full bar.
You can get your bets in over there. There's kiosks throughout the casino. Yeah, man. The screens are huge. It seems good enough.
There we go. There we go. Yeah. There we go. Larger than life.
A lot of screens. Great for it's. You know what? It's great for. It's great for obviously the football, but then you come on a game like tonight or a night like tonight, and you're like, well, the Bucks are on, but I want to know what Giannis is doing, and I do want to see my Valkyries, brother, in the WNBA Finals.
And you got all these different things, and then there's a football game, and suddenly you're betting on that. And good food, you know, good people. They could, if I may give this endorsement about the food, you're already coming here to bet, and there's TVs, but they're not skimping on the food. This is what I'm trying to say. They're making sure the food is worth the trip as well.
Everything on this John Coon platter. And John, if you may, someday find this. Your platter's so good. Your platter's so good. It's got everything you would want.
I feel like a fullback taking down the jalapeno poppers, the chicken in there, the slider. It's all very good. Optimism on the bucks, Ben? No, none. Not really.
Kind of saw. Is it freeing in a way? No, no, not really. Nope. I'm.
I hope that we can maybe make some magic happen at the deadline. Or I really want to see Burris develop and Rollins develop this season. Those are the two that I'm watching. Other than that, everybody else is kind of expendable to me.
Well, let's take a look at who's the most expendable. Let's look at this box score for the night.
So the Bucks lose one twenty-eight to one sixteen. They had a lead at halftime. They were were they tied at the end of the third, or up one or down one? It was close. And then the Wizards went on a fifteen-two run.
I think that span the third to the fourth quarters. They outscored them by fifteen in the fourth quarter alone.
So I think that is how a lot of these games are going to go. Also, this year's Wizards isn't last year's Wizards. There is optimism there. They do have Anthony Davis, who is healthy for now. Trey Young's there, obviously our guy Mids.
They got some young guys. Their team that's hoping to, you know, they're hoping not to just win the 18 or 19 games that they always win. I'm noticing the Mavs are getting their ass kicked by the Rockets. Yeah, they're down 30 at halftime. Are the Pacers losing?
That's another. I feel like just says a lot of teams I'm hate watching here. Yeah, a lot of hate. There's tennis. Is that a rerun?
There's tennis going on. All right. So starters tonight: Coos, Hakez, Turner, Hero, and Rollins. Your leading scorer was Tyler Hero. He had four threes.
Q was going for five. Four for eleven. Four for fourteen on the night. Four fourteen. Yeah.
He had 14 points towards the end of the second quarter. I tweeted, "He's going to have 40 a night," and then he ended up with 24. Horvat tweeted back at that. He said, "You mean minutes, right? Because he ain't getting 40 points." Haka's at 22.
I think he's a great addition. In that trade, it's great we pulled him, but also if we didn't, the trade I think the trade was equal enough. Um, because if like if we didn't get either one of these guys, if we didn't get Yacconis or or Hakez, it'd be like, well, they really got us. And I also think Giannis is old and injured, and he's already, I think, out of this game. Is he done?
They're down thirty. Bam still. I don't know. Yeah, Bam's done there. He's probably done.
Rollins had nine points. Turner had eleven. Turner is Turner's a contract starter, I think. Kuzma is trash in every way, on and off the court. Burry's a twelve off the bench, and Yakakona said fifteen.
Twelve and sixteen minutes. Yeah, nine assists for Hero. All right, so I don't think there's anything crazy. I would have liked to start with season with a win, but only an idiot would bet on them to win this game. Q.
And and only an idiot would bet that they're going to win thirty of these. Me, they have the Bulls on Friday at three o'clock. Winnable? You going? Three o'clock our time.
That'll be an interesting crowd. With, I think they're going to have a watch party at the Deer District. Sixers this weekend. They'll destroy us. Oh, okay.
I'm not really sure where our first win actually comes. Bulls this weekend at home, at Sixers versus the Pacers. Then we host the Rockets. Then we host the Cavs. Then we're in Minnesota, in Boston, against Toronto, against Boston, at New York, hosting the Lakers, at Orlando, hosting.
I don't know. Yeah. What did I do? Betting thirty. It's got to be Friday.
It's got to be Friday. Then that Heat game, Portland Sixers, Toronto. We play the whole top four in the East before Thanksgiving. I could see them stealing that Heat game.
So what's going to happen here is they're going to start like five and twenty, and then I'm going to. They're going to get their thirtieth win at the end of the season. Wow, so that's why the spread so low. Whoops, Tim, you want in? I'm good.
Just say hi. Hi. Anything you want to talk about? Brewers? I'm excited for that.
No, no, for sure. I was working downtown and. Could pop over real quick. No, I'm excited about the Brewers. I grew up in Detroit, and so kind of adopted the Brewers once I moved here, and then Detroit's kind of my back pocket team at this point.
And yeah, I think it's just cool seeing the opportunity. I also looked at Tampa Bay. I was tempted, but I've got friends down there, so like room and board might have been taken care of. But no, I think it's cool. I think it's just cool hearing the stories of like.
You know where we figure out that this is more than baseball, and it's like, you know, my dad or my grandpa, County Stadium, all those stories. Like I remember going through just a rough time in my life, and like every Monday, I'd be driving down ninety four and listening to Euch and drive past Miller Park, you know, and just having those moments. And I think it's all. I'm excited, and shout out to Morans in South Milwaukee for their watch party. They're gonna shut down the main street in town.
Yeah, that's a good spot. I got the one World Cup game there. Yeah. Oh no, I didn't, because that was the day I went down for a Mexico game, which they have great crowds for, and that was the rain delay. Thanks, Tim.
You're welcome. That was the rain delay. Nice. I am an audio guide. Yeah.
I was hoping. I don't want to touch it too much. Yeah, that's a great spot. And yeah, you live right there, don't you? Yeah, I do.
Yeah, I think they're doing Saturday and Tuesday. I think we're gonna go to the stadium on Monday for the watch party, and then I'll probably have to do my show from the lot because it looked like parking out of there the last time was rough. Although if they're gonna, they might they might get forty thousand people in that ballpark. Oh, the watch party! People want to be, yeah.
Well, I mean, I mean, not the World Series game. Oh, yeah, they could, yeah. We're gonna make some bucks on the watch parties. I'm bringing hot take, Jake. Excellent.
Oh, there's your buddy. You're not gonna be able to hear him. I will. Excellent. What's up, Jake?
Hey, Bart. Thank you for giving me a reason to watch any Bucks basketball this year. Pretty wins, brother. Um. Yeah, I, I love you, buddy.
I, I think it's, I don't think it's happening.
Well, now that I just finally looked at their schedule, well, or like just you can look at the team, and I mean that's that's not a good basketball team. Um. I listened. I think it was last week. Paul was talking about how, like, oh, it's actually kind of fun and exciting to watch the Bucks, and not really, because the problem is they didn't go all in with the rebuild.
Like, when my my range of emotions from watching guys like Miles Turner is like, I'm just not into it. Versus.
Well, and then just like Kuzma or Hero on the court, and it's like I'd rather be doing almost anything else than watching basketball when they're on the floor. Like, and I think when you talk about Kevin Porter Jr., I was upset by the move, not because like I'm a huge Kevin Porter Jr. guy, but the Bucks had three or four massive expiring contracts or or. Four contracts that you could pick from to cut to get the roster down, and they cut the guy with the with the lowest, the most talented guy of the the crew, and the guy with the smallest contract. They cut like, do they really think someone's trading for Kyle Kuzma at the deadline?
That's not happening. I just, I guess it's it's a sign that the old Bucks are back, and I'm not exactly thrilled about that. You didn't have any fun tonight, Jake. It was not a fun watch, no. Like, and that's the other thing Paul talked about.
It's kind of exciting. Like, just because your team is young doesn't make it exciting. Like, who on the team is exciting? Is Khalil Ware exciting? Is Burries Burries?
Jerry's mad at you for bringing down the vibe. Buries well. We're trying to celebrate 777 episodes of the Winkler verse, which I totally forgot about that it was opening night tonight because I wanted to come down. But the other thing I was going to ask you about: Do they still let people smoke inside there? Because that's a that's a non that's a deal breaker for me.
I can't do it. No, you can't smoke in here, right? There's a smoking section. Yeah. Okay.
Yeah. Okay. That floor is smoke free. Yeah, that's good.
Okay, because that's that's weird. Like after after. If you want to smoke or like the smell of smoke, like I do, you can go up to the smoker area.
Well, so here's the thing: we lived with smoke in bars and all that stuff and restaurants growing up. Like we just dealt with it. And then they took it away. And then maybe ten years ago, my wife got me tickets to see Nor McDonald at Potawatomi, and I walked in, and it was like I, I thought I was being assaulted. Like it was the craziest thing that I used to just sit in that, and it was like fight or flight now.
So what a wild time to be alive. But yeah, if people want me to bring the mood up, it's just it's Brewers all day, baby. Although. We need to like give up this this Brandon Woodruff pipe dream. He should not be on the team.
He he taped a thing with Fox Sports. He will be on that roster. I don't understand that at all. Let's talk about that later. I'm gonna cut you loose.
All right, I love you, buddy. I love you too. I'll be watching. You guys want to say hi to Jake? They say hi.
Thanks. Hi, guys. See you, Jake. Luis is here with Potawatomi Sportsbook. What's going on, everybody?
I had one guy say he didn't know this was actually a location, which means where have you been, man? It's the it's the most premier sportsbook in the Midwest. You're missing out. It really is. He's with.
I said that he's with the sportsbook.
So the Bucks stink. I don't think they stink. And I made the bet that they're going to win thirty games, and I made five hundred.
So, you know, when you do these partnership deals, this is how Straw Farms me into a sponsorship, not a hedge's bet. They want, they're like, ah, bring in, bring in some traffic. You got, I brought some people here. Good, good. And then I'm like, I'm just going to give you five hundred dollars too.
If if I see five hundred dollars in slips on this table at the end of the night, we'll talk. We'll talk how we keep that logo permanently on the the screen. Oh, look at that, Q. Q. The Q already spent five hundred bucks.
You got here. His already ripped up. His already ripped up. What'd you have fifty five on them to win? That's worse than thirty.
Looking decent for a while.
So you guys knew there'd be a big WNBA crowd tonight, huh? Yeah, we never doubted it for a second. Angel Reese, I'm like she gets butts and seats, zero doubt there. I'm like, I'd like to see Caitlin Clark sell this sports book out like that. What do you think it's going to be like here for the series?
Pandemonium. I'm like, I've I've never seen the space sell out like this. Not even sports book. I've never seen demand for this space. Not March Madness.
Not sports book. Even like our our space next door, the annex, which is kind of like our overflow, we have people reaching out like wanting like couches and tables and like it's, yeah, we I mean we have nothing left for Friday. We have a couple singles left in here for Saturday, and these are the home games where I'm like we're right down the road. I think the away games, maybe some people want to go to American Family Field. Great, but yeah, I haven't seen demand like this for any other sporting event ever.
Well, and you guys have the shuttles too, which is a really Like a like when you're when someone first told me that they were going on the Pato shuttle, I'm like, "Yes, that is exactly how to go to a game." Three and a half hours prior, we're starting them. And honestly, and not because I work here, but the reason I always kind of brag about them is like, you go to like one of those Blue Mount, you know, bars, and it's I love them as much as anybody else, but like sometimes you have to park three, four, five blocks away to get to the bar to get a wristband. Here, like our parking structure is so. Big, and then we're actually taking one of our other overflow lots and making that parking and opening that up for people to park, and then it's like a five dollar bet or a beer is going to get you a wristband on the shuttle. You're a big brewer guy too, so this isn't like this isn't like all business for you.
You want them, you you want them to win as much as anybody. I I think the one thing that I'm realizing, not that I'm realizing, but Because we saw with the Bucks, with the Deer District being as packed as it was, and now they're gonna have people like every everywhere you could think to watch a game is gonna have a screen to watch a game. Because I think more than anything, people want to be together for this. That's why Miller Parks filling up for these watch parties. I'm gonna go on Monday, I believe.
But people just want to be together. This obviously is a place to be. That's why people are signing up. You just You just, even if you're like the homiest of homebodies, you want to be out for these games. You want to be around people.
I feel for these games, right? Like it's just, yeah. I've never seen like ticket demand like this. Like the pricing is ridiculous, and it's ridiculous in a good way. Like if hey, you know what?
If you can get them, get them. Whatever. Yeah, I think people just want to be hanging out with other people, other Brewer fans that like in your life. I mean, we've seen more hundred loss seasons than we've ever seen hundred win seasons before this year. It's, I'm like, it's, it's, yeah, it's, it's crazy to like think about that, and just like think about those people that have like been riding with this team forever and a half, and and to see this and have like this start on Friday is just it's surreal.
Like, I listen to that Levering call. Every other day, because it's just so cool and still gives me chills. Levering is such a beast. He's awesome. He's just like I watched him tell the story of how he did that call, and he's like, "I was kind of thinking about it.
I was kind of not." And then I've seen that movie a hundred times, and that's just kind of what had happened with the euchre, you know, homage there, and and I like. I don't know. I just I don't think that I. He's just such a great broadcaster, and and I think he's a great guy, and I think he's very sincere. You know, I I talk about this a lot with Yelich, where it's like you might not have been born a brewer like Craig Council, but but guys like Levering and Grindle that are with the team, Yelich.
You could have told me Yelich was a Brewer fan growing up. I would have believed it. I would have. You could have told me he was at the 82 parade as a kid. I would have believed it because these guys are so entrenched in the Brewers.
I do think it's different here. I do think the community is is different. I think people are going to see that over the next week. I think even BA right, like BA had that Instagram post right away after they won, where he's like, Milwaukee, you have a World Series. Like he knew that call from Euthor from '82, and he had it out like that.
He's a national, like that guy is a Brewer fan through and through. Like that guy loves Wisconsin. It's like all these guys just take to the city and take to the state. And I love that leveraging part of his call was like, the World Series goes through Wisconsin. Like that was just such like a great like homage to the entire state.
I want to call bingo like that, Hard Canal Street. Yeah, come on down whenever you want to do it. I got you. I want to be the guest bingo call. Yeah, I next week.
Yeah, all right.
Well, I see all these people doing it. I'm like, I want to do it. Done. I'll we'll sign you up. You give me a nice little in like a selfie video.
Hey, Winklevers, come on down to. We'll get all these guys to come out and play bingo with you. You guys come and play bingo. And Tim, all four. I the god that I've got four people here is a miracle to begin with.
All four of us. Timmy was already here. To be fair, so you know him.
Well, he talked to you. I've talked to De Lorenzo before. Yeah, if you want to get the drummer of the Violent Femmes over here, that'd be fine. It's one way for me to get kicked out. All right, good to see you.
Hey, thanks, guys. Love you guys. Thanks for coming out. All right, Brewers. I don't know his name now.
I forgot his name. Islands. Thems. Drummer. All right, you guys are gonna go play.
Yeah, we got it. We need. What's his name again? John. John Sparrow.
Captain John Sparrow. Yeah. No, well, that's my dad. All right. I didn't mean to crash your.
No crash. That's why. That's the Winkler verse.
So I'm just. I used to be on the radio for a long time.
Okay. Doing sports radio, and I got laid off twice, and now I'm doing a podcast.
Well, you're doing pretty good. We're we're doing good. We got the we got the setup at Pato. I'm considering you. Thank you, thank you.
Is now is this live? This is live.
Okay, we're live here for the Bucks because we're doing this is my 777th episode, so we decided we did we did a tie in with Potawatomi. Oh yeah. Um, for I saw you guys over here. You guys look like you we look professional. That's what I see.
Yeah, I know. And then yeah, that's so.
So I just saw Violent Femmes. They're gonna do game one. That's gonna be outside. Inside? No, inside.
Well. Uh, that's in center field. But is that the Miller Landing? Oh, you're gonna be in inside it. Oh, so you're gonna yeah.
There, I got a media release. Yeah, I didn't read it because I didn't think I'd need to know any of the information about the Violent Femmes playing at Amfam, and then the drummer is here. Yeah, well, I'm here. I'm eating and hanging out, and everybody's starting to kind of. You know, coming to town.
Yeah. Um, you live here or not? Cause I yeah, I live in Shorewood. I live in Shorewood.
Okay, well, don't creep me out. Hold on, I'm turning the mic off. Yeah, wait. What's going on? I turn the mic off to figure out where he lives.
I didn't know that. I'm at. You don't need to say your address. No, I was gonna just be a smart aleck. I don't know if you can swear.
Yeah, so you can.
So tomorrow we're doing the gala. You're doing the about that the gala for the Brewers. No.
Well, I'm kidding. You don't know. It's not happening. That must be like just for them. Yeah, that's a private event, and then we're doing game one.
So you're put. Where's the gala? Looking here. No, you look at me. Yeah, no, you're a lot more handsome than me.
I disagree, but yeah.
So then, game one, right? I did music radio in Fondulac for a while. You guys, did you guys play at Thelma? That sounds familiar. Because it's like downtown and be on a street.
Yep. It's an art museum. Yep. Because Victor was on with me for that.
Okay. Yeah. And then. And then here you are randomly, and you know ten. No, I play.
You know, I do. Oh, jeez. We met. He comes over. He's like, I don't know about my personal life.
Um, yeah.
So I played with Victor. Yeah, I I joined the group in two thousand five, and I played with.
So I don't know if that would have been the same time, but yeah, yeah, yeah. I'm a new guy. And our saxophone player is over there, but he refused to come over here. Yeah, he's he's he's bashful. Yeah, that's why you joined the band.
JR says, "Saw you guys open for the Killers at Pfizer. Loved it. Oh, that was awesome. And those guys are really nice guys. Guys in the Killers are really cool.
Yeah, that was a lot of fun. Another honor, right? Oh, the Killers for sure.
Well, yeah, of course them. But I mean, opening up the Pfizer. Can I swear? You can. Do you need to?
Yeah, it's kind of a Polish. Yeah, yeah. I got this Polish problem. Yeah, that was fucking awesome because." Think about that honor opening up that place, and now think about this honor. You know what I mean?
To be on the Winkler verse. Oh, to for the Brewers, yeah. Who are the Brewers? A baseball team you're going to play for? Oh yeah, I thought World Series game.
No, but um, what an honor! 44 years, right? Yeah. I was. How old were you guys?
I was not alive. I'm 42. I was six. And everybody was hanging out of their car windows and drunk. And but no, this is really, really a cool thing for all of us.
What podcast am I on? Is this OnlyFans? Yeah, not yet. This is doing okay enough where I don't need to go to Only. I'm crashing the party.
No, here you can have one. Give me some more of those. Yeah, no, but it is really. This is really a cool honor. Throw these out.
Throw these out when you're playing. Miller Park.
Okay. Two questions. Go ahead. Six. Maybe you don't know, but maybe or maybe it's not your part of the job.
But how did that happen? How did how did you you were playing World Series Game One? Was that your guy's idea? Did they contact you? I don't know.
I just show up.
So that's what I figure. I just you know get an Uber from Sherwood and I go to the gig. Yes. Good. Get on the Broadhouse shuttle.
I bet Nerd Donat. I fell asleep on that once. At least you didn't throw up on it. Ah, I did not throw up. I like how you had to think about that.
And then, and then you're like, "Wait, have I?" And then, uh, why don't these people sing? That guy said, "Double fuck." That guy says, "I love to poop." Who doesn't love to take a massive shit?
Well, I, I don't know. I don't. That too. I don't know how many.
So what what what platform is this? This I'm on Streamyard. I don't know it, and it's the it's the podcast.
Well, the name of the podcast is on the koozie.
Well, that's why I gave you the koozie. I know I'm you know I'm a marketing guy. I get it. Yeah. So when you play, get closer.
When when you play, tell me more. When you're welcome. Do you guys have seats, or did did did they kick you guys out for the timeless ticket holders, or are you gonna be able to watch the game, or what? Yeah, we'll be there watching the game, of course. Where are your seats?
I don't need to tell you that. I need to know if they're better. I need to know if the violent femmes got better. No, we're the timeless ticket holders. We're there.
We're there. That's an honor to be invited, and we're there working.
So I don't really know about those details. I don't. I just show up and play drums. Hmm. All right.
All right. We'll have fun. I will. Sorry to crash your no. I'm podcast.
This is fun. Good to meet you. You're natural. You fit right into whatever I'm famous. Yeah.
I don't. I don't know whatever it is I'm doing. I yeah. I'm wondering what the hell you're doing. This is a Bucks post game podcast.
These poor people. Hey, by the way. Oh, wait. What it? This is going somewhere.
Get close. My savers. Give wings a kiss. I do. Show up and play.
Drop. Exactly. That's my job. Can the Violent Femmes play a cover of the Milwaukee Brewers song that's going viral? Oh, I heard about that.
Milwaukee Brewers. We hit the baseball. We get home runs. Yeah. No, we're gonna do a cover of Blister and the Sun, probably.
Good call. Thanks for having me out. Yeah. Thanks for coming on. That was nice.
Good timing. All right, I gotta rest. All right. I gotta hand these out. Yeah.
Well, to all your fans, thank you so much. This was nice. Yeah. Thank you. Thanks.
Get back to work. I'm not. Do you want this slider? You're gonna have it. I was gonna box it up.
He's my guy. Thanks. That was nice. John Sparrow. John Sparrow, drummer of the Violent Femmes.
Hey, it's the drummer of the Violent Femmes. He was just on. Oh, all right, Tim. You were gonna, you were gonna, you were gonna say what's my favorite episode? It's seven, seven, seven.
I got Q here, I got Tim here, I got Ben here, I got Shay here. How do I follow that? I got Captain John Sparrow. I I cannot do that. Yeah.
All right. Here we go.
So it's pretty clear we're done talking bucks. Tim, yeah, you want to interview me about seven? Interview me, no, you interview me about seven, seven, seven. Yeah, we are in the middle of your seven, seven, seven podcast here. How do you?
How do you feel? It's going so far. I feel it's going really well. It was great to have these guys show up. It was great to randomly have the drummer here.
Yeah. What What did you? It was great that Tim somehow knows them. What when when you saw that note up there? What What was going through your head?
Like, like oh my god! You want to show the note? You still have it on your phone? Yeah. What What did the note?
He just showed me on my phone or on his phone that. Yeah. And then and then foolishly, yeah, yeah, you can see it. And then foolishly, I. Didn't remember the name, and I had to look it up.
Yeah, I saw you. I saw you googling there right before you was very quickly like trying to cover your butt.
So you had a question. Hot take, Jake says, drummer from Violent Femmes and the lead guitarist from Tenacious D. I got Kyle Gas here. It's Kyle Gas. Kyle Gas.
I just grabbed your head and tilted it to show this guy. I just bare-handed your head like a basketball. Oh, that's good. I I think this is. I think this is.
Um, you can play some blackjack. I I'll find you before we leave. Who's my favorite? That's a good question. I bring it up.
Twenty minutes is my answer. No.
Well, I thought I saw him.
Okay. All right. All right. I think this. I think this episode's capturing the spirit of the Winklerverse.
Yeah. Randomness. Yeah. Happy four-year anniversary. What has been your favorite episode besides today?
Or most memorable. My favorite episode besides today should be Opening Day. Opening Day. Opening Day was fun. I traveled around.
Um. Yeah. So you think of like the special ones. You think of like the ones that. I didn't just do in my basement.
Yeah. Shake out in a tunnel. Yeah. I mean, t here is been t here is been a lot of like when when you interviewed the fork Mike, obviously. Um, but just kind of like going back and watching some of them.
My favorite. Oh, this is nice from Utah Cheesehead. Seven seven seven. Love you, Barty. Congrats on the number go, Brewers.
The one with the Giannis bobblehead—that was good. First one was a Tim and Toby. Yeah, yeah, and and we called John and Franklin live. Yeah, so much branding now. Like, if you go back.
Is that real?
Someone just said Brewers team store closed tomorrow to restart. They are. They are. I just saw that. Yeah.
Yeah. It is insane when you go down there. It's so awesome.
So that's the other thing, though, is we can never cry small market again. No.
Cause they are doubling the business of an average year. Dude, I went in a week. I went. Yeah, we got Contreras. We got Torang.
It was nuts today. They had two stores open. Winkler versus watch party for the World Series. Oh boy, where? Moran.
Did I hear you? You are going to the watch party at? I'm going to go on Monday. I'll see you there. Yeah, I'm going to go Monday.
All right, pod pod in the parking lot after. Yeah. Pod in the parking lot after. You got to set up where all the media does after, out by Hellfire Field, you know. Channel twelve, channel four, channel six, Pirate Winkler.
I get everybody in my basement. Yeah. You'd have to bring your own chairs. But I cleared a space. I have a TV.
Yeah, in the spirit of the Winkler verse. Bring your own chair. Oh, I am not. I am not doing parade chairs at any point. People have been asking.
Um, I did parade chairs when the Bucks were down oh two. They were down oh two, and no one believed except me. Everyone believes in the Brewers. Oh, when you and I called Tim Allen from the parking lot, yeah. Yeah, that was a good one, but I like going back and watching the shape of my face change.
I like watching how fat I was to start, and then I and then I got skinny, and now I'm getting, I'm getting chubby cheeks again. Want more? I like the one where Kim fed me. What's my least favorite episode? Yeah.
No, I've got a better way to phrase that. What is the episode that you regret that you wish you could delete? I did delete one. Which one? It's still on the audio.
I don't remember what one it was. There's two episodes. One I was hammered. Really, just one?
Well, a lot of these I would drink during, but like at the end of the. And then after I hung up, I got hammered. But um, yeah, when I was just so drunk, I just deleted it from audio or video. You you're shaking your head. Which one was it?
I don't remember. I was like last year. It was a Bucks post game. Yeah. And then there's the one where Tim woke up from a nap, and I told him Jimmy scored fifty nine on us.
There was a period where Tim would just call from his car. We all thought he was calling us. Yeah, very well could have. Then there was another one. A little you know.
There was another one where there was another one where I yeah I didn't. You guys just keep talking.
Sorry, there was another one where I, I just kind of made an episode to make it. I don't want to do an episode if I don't have anything to say now, so I'm trying to do four or five a week. But if I don't have anything to say, I'll skip a day. And there was one day I totally, it was bad. And Bodie on Twitter.
Said he like could tell I phoned it in, or, and I was like, he's right. He was he was right. All right, Tim. The best episode was when Bart was hammered with Big Ron when the Nuggets won the finals. I remember Big Ron Scott. Yeah. Ad reading Piggly Wiggly is Joe Paschke.
Angry Mark Murphy. Yeah, but guys, guys are well. Let's stop looking at the past. We got seven, seven more to go. Yeah.
Then I need a sponsor for fifteen forty four. Is that the right math? Fifteen fifty four. What is? You got to do the Wisconsin.
Eighteen forty eight. Yeah. Okay. Here's here's the next milestone. We are blowing past a thousand.
Yeah, we are blowing past a thousand. Two years. The next milestone episode is one thousand two hundred and fifty. Twelve fifty.
Okay. Yeah. Where it all began. I'm going nuts for twelve fifty. Or are you going to go one oh five seven?
No.
Here, I'm. I'm telling you this.
Okay. I'll tell you right now. We will do a hundred episode. We'll do a thousand for episode twelve fifty, and I'm assuming that's happening because I'm not like the yeah I'm not employable. Tim says, and I'm not gonna.
I'm doing this. This is what I'm doing. Did the Pacers lose? By the way, no, they're gonna win. For twelve fifty, I'm gonna rent out a studio somewhere, like a like a like a theater.
You can. Yeah. For twelve fifty, there will be a space, and it'll be a live show, like like this, but with like guests, and like frames, and uh. The drummer from Violent Femmes. Violent Femmes.
Yeah. So we'll go on. How do you feel about the series? You could have the Violent Femmes play. I could have them play.
Yes. We we had a good little rapport. I like that. That was good. Um, I can't wait to go back and watch that.
One million dollars on the line. What do you think happens? Brewers and six. Brewers and six. Yeah.
Brewers will go one and one at home. We'll go to Tampa. We'll lose Game Three, win Game Four, win Game Five, win Game Six. Game Six will be a week from Friday.
So I'm flying all the way down there to see a loss. In your opinion, you might. I think I I think I'm going to see the clincher. I agree. I think they're going to win in five.
For me, I think they're going to win in five. I think they're going to lose game three or two. I don't think they're going to lose. Yeah, they can't lose at home. I don't know.
I'm not flying down there for a loss. What? You're going to game five, right? Yeah. I said they win that game.
Yeah, but I want them. I wanted to clinch. Clinch. Yeah. All right.
I mean. Do you have any thoughts on the Timeless ticket fiasco? What do you want to know? Just, I mean, were you there when they sold them? I was.
We were in a lot. What a five-year drought. No, it was not my idea. I I said, "Who the hell's going to buy this?" And a thousand people did, and you made a quick millie.
So the Timeless ticket was a thousand dollars. I want to know if everyone redeemed their ticket. I think some would have been eighteen already. For Game Seven, yeah, or last year maybe, NLCS, yeah, or an opening day. I don't know.
No, you got to keep it for a World Series. That's the only way I would have spent it if I would have bought it. Um, you know what? Why they're bitching, I don't know. Just be happy that you're in the building.
I don't care if it said. Oh, John! John, I really don't. John's in Tampa. John wants to know if the Brewers are going to invade the trop.
It sounds like John. It's going to be something. It sure sounds like it. I know like forty people that are going. There's going to be.
I go to a lot of away games, especially for the Packers, and whenever we're like out at the bars or out prior, we always think, "Wow, there's going to be so many." Packer fans here. It's going to be like sixty forty, and then we get in it's like ninety five five because we're just at the Packer bar, you know. But there's going to be a lot of Brewer fans. I'm going to get on that plane on Wednesday morning at eight a.m. Start a brew.
Let's go brew chant on the plane. It's going to be full of Brewers fans. John, we got meet up if you're going. Um, are the Brewers the only team to offer the money in the bank equivalent? What a weird idea.
Armin says he's been going at it with Tampa fans. Do they not think? Do they not think we're going to invade? We're not. We're not going to like.
We're not even going to invade as a premeditated invasion. We're going to invade because we can't get tickets here. We're gonna. We can't get tickets here, so we're coming there. And we're able to come there because you guys aren't selling out.
Yeah, it's not like there's Rays fans were buying the tickets from. I bought my tickets from Rays. dot no, not Rays. dot com because that keeps thinking me some boat thing in Seattle. John said there were Bird fans in the stands at Game Six of the ALCS.
Hell yeah! I saw they showed that on TV. Yeah, we're gonna we're gonna sell out the stadium for our watch parties, and then how about their GM or whoever it was that said, "Yeah, we're gonna invade Milwaukee." What? Oh, Kevin Cash. Yeah, I think.
Yeah. What? This no. This is gonna be people. The okay, people think that we are Packer State, and we are.
But what is you are going to be, you are going to be, you are going to be stunned. There is going to be a lot of people that say, "Oh, I didn't know Wisconsin knew they had a second team other than the Packers." Like that's going to be the main take because we are going to, we're going to. People have been waiting their whole lives for this. Do you understand? Do you understand that the newspaper in town hired additional staff for this, not for the games itself.
But for the obituary section, after we win the World Series, all the people that finally stop clinging to life, hoping they'd see one. I don't know. Q. So, I work for a company in New York, and I was trying to explain this to my boss today that like there's an entire generation.
So like the boomers. We can go four backs if you guys all squeeze in. You got to move the food. That like. There's a generation of Wisconsinites that like all they ever talk about is 1982.
Right.
So like, yeah, we hate them. My my mom went to like four of the the seven games in '82. Like any time the Brewers come up, doesn't matter who, she talks about it. If we run into people at a tailgate, she talks about it. Like we've made documentaries.
There's TV shows. There's like everything ever, and like. I pray that we just win. Like I want this team to win for me, but I want it to to like heal the boomers of Milwaukee and Wisconsin. Like, like there's a lot wrong.
Sorry, no, you're not a boomer, are you? No.
Okay, good. Looking in the face, I don't know. I'm barely older. Like I, I feel like the boomers, the boomers have a lot of healing to do, but the ones in Wisconsin. We'll we'll have a lot of their their heart refilled if the Brewers can pull it off in the next two weeks.
So I grew up a Tiger fan. I have my World Series. All right, all right, good. I was at the ALCS. Yeah, in '84, I was six.
That was my '82 ring. I saw a great name. The New York New York Magazine did an article on Boomers that get addicted to their slop, and they call it Screenagers. They're calling Boomer Screenagers for how much they go on their TV. All right, the other question.
So timeless ticket. Let's get back to that. Stop. Bucks lost. Yeah, whatever.
It was a great idea. I thought no one was going to buy it back in the day when I was working there, and apparently a thousand people did. No, they go to charity. No, well, probably. Oh, went to the team.
Yeah, threw it into account. It went to it went to Andrew McCutchen. Yeah. Yeah. Well, year was that?
Twenty fifteen. Fifteen was the sale. It was on fifteen.
So this guy that's been complaining to the news. First of all, this is the most joyous week ever. Yeah. Why are we? Why are we still on?
And I have been saying that I just want to live in this week. Yeah. I like this week. Obviously, I I I want to. If we're gonna win, I want to win.
But I like this week. Everyone's excited. There's a there's a good buffer of time that we can enjoy it. I'm glad we're getting some time. It is like Super Bowl week, so I'm enjoying this week.
Um, yeah, Dame did a pregame speech. I forgot. I thought he died. What was I saying? We're joining this week.
The timeless ticket. I want to live in this. I want to live in this. And then the story breaks. I want to live in this week.
Yep. But this timeless ticket thing got really annoying, and it became a national story because it's this is one of those tangential stories. I have a take that people don't actually like sports; they like sports as a conduit for other stories. And so this is a story that you can talk about. Nobody likes to get on the radio and talk about the X's and all this.
They like to talk about other stuff. They do, but it's got to be sports adjacent, and this is. But it's annoying because this guy's trying to harsh our vibe, just for better seats.
Now I think if I were to buy a timeless ticket in 2015, I would have thought I'm probably going to sit in the first section. When it's time to cash in, I'll probably sit in the first section. That's what I would have thought. And then if I found out I wasn't gonna sit there, I would think, all right, well the World Series tickets are going for three grand. I'm just happy to get in.
Not everybody's feeling that way.
Now the Brewers have made it. They're basically getting twice their value, right? Yeah. Because they're getting this and they're getting another one. Yep.
But this guy's still bitching. He needs to go away. He was interviewed today. At Lakefront Brewery, people giving him—he's still bitching.
So then, Brewer fans had enough.
So they're like, "We got to find out who this guy is." They find out he's a Cub fan, and he tried to tell you, "I can like every other team, right? I can have a second baseball team." Yeah, I have a second baseball team. It's actually the Rays, but I don't really give a shit about them. We went to Tampa a bunch. I used to have a Rays sweatshirt.
I I like, yeah, I like the Rays, but I don't give a shit about them. Yeah, I was at BJ Upton's first game. People forget. Um, so I've been to the Trop, so I'm excited to go back there. Really, more than anything, I like the Trop.
Now, now people found out he was a Cubs fan, but not like a I like both my grandpa, etc. He was a we call it Wrigley North Cubs fan. And if that's not bad enough, he's also very proficient in the use of slurs. I've heard like all the worst ones, even those, and that he's said it all.
So let me think to myself: if I was going to complain and ask for the news to cover my my gripe. Don't you think I'd at least scrub my Twitter account to make sure I never tweeted the N word before? Don't you think that's a pretty easy thing to do? One would think. He deleted his account.
Yeah, he deleted it tonight. We don't claim him. He's not one of us. And the Brewers should take his. Yeah, take it.
They should take it away. I would. They would get no pushback from us if they took it away. None, none pushback. None.
All right. So we're feeling good. Tomorrow's episode is going to be picks with Horvat, and then I'll be live Friday night. I'll be live Saturday night. I'll be live on Sunday after Packers.
I'll be at the watch party Monday, and I'll be live sometime after that. I'll be live Tuesday night. Then I'm gonna fly down Wednesday and go live Wednesday, probably later. I don't know what's gonna happen Wednesday. Yeah.
Are you gonna have? Are you gonna have coverage of the trophy? I'm not bringing my laptop to the game trophy presentation. Although maybe I could. I I could give it to Channel Twelve.
I could let them hold it for me. I'll talk to Dario. I don't think I can get. They don't know who you are. Seven hundred and seventy-seven.
I could stream at Ferg's. I could stream at your house, John. If they clinch Game Five, will I stay? Will I stay where? For the parade in Tampa first, and then they.
Oh, if I clinch game five, am I rushing back to my hotel to do a pod? No, no, fuck you all. I could start it, yeah, and then worse.
Okay, damn it. Then back was my chance. Packers on Thursday. Yeah. When do you fly back?
What time is your return flight? Five a.m. You're not sleeping Thursday. You are not sleeping Wednesday. The Tinklerverse.
No, what? What's JU? Yeah, what's JU? What's JU? Uh, and then Friday if they have a game, and then Saturday, and then.
Just free record two. Yeah. One where they win and one where they lose. All right, man, what a win! Sal Frelick, remember when he may or may not have had an N.F.B.
I don't know. I don't. I don't know. Well, we're at Pato. It's ten o'clock.
the The captain and diets minus the captain are flowing, and the slots are calling my name. I think. If there's a cheap blackjack table, maybe we gotta go find the Susie Lynn sevens. Yeah. Oh, I gotta play some seven seven sevens.
I gotta play some seven seven sevens. But thank you for joining this podcast. Thank you, you guys, for coming. Thank you, Bart. Very nice.
Very nice. Thank you. Oh, I got somebody jumping in right at the end. Matt, hello, Matt. What's going on, boys?
How was it there? Oh, it's good. I was just about to sign off, but I'll talk to you. Ah, I just was seeing what you think the over/under is going to be on Peralta's innings pitched. Peralta's innings pitched over.
Um, he's pitching game two. We think. Is he pitching two? Is Rasmussen pitching one? And he's pitching two.
I would assume. I would assume. Yeah. So, what do you think for over/under? Five and a half.
The the line would be five and a half. Because that's the question. Is he going six? No way. He's never gone six with us.
Yeah. There's no way, right? Are we gonna do the Freddie Chan or not? We have. They're not going to.
We should. What is this? MVP odds. Where'd you get this? Did you just go get it?
I got it really. MVP odds. Freddie for all the like plus twenty five. Why would you want to bet on that, Matt? I'm I'm a gambling man.
What do you think about the series then? Uh, Spurs and five. Five, yep. I think you are gonna see it. Thank you.
I hope I see it. But then, if I don't, then I am bad luck. No, no, not at all. You drinking your captain? No diet Diet Coke.
Ah, that's right. You are on the candy fix. Was it busy crowd then? There's a big crowd here, half for me, half for the Golden State Valkyries. I don't believe that.
There are an obscene a lot of people here for the WNBA. Like, if you came to Pato tonight to watch the Bucks, and and you'd be like, "Wow, the whole world loves the WNBA. I'm the only one that doesn't." You would feel so left out. I'm five minutes from there. I'm the one that said, "Hey, you want to play roulette or blackjack?" Oh shit!
I like bubble craps. Either one. Yeah. Um. Yeah, I like bubble craps.
Are you going any games? You big gambling man. You gotta have some pocket chest there. Yeah. I think it's a little out of my pay range.
Yeah, that's why I'm flying down to Florida, a state I hate, and I'm there like every year somehow. But your parents live there, right? Parents live there, and I'm a Disney adult. I have never told you guys that yet. No, no, I do not go to Disney.
No, no, no, no, no. No.
Did you watch? Did you start watching Vision Quest? Good. Yeah. Ah.
Okay. Oh, it's the first home run off Peralta. Because you know what's going to happen. He always gives up. Bowers.
Bowers is going to do it again. Yeah. All right. Bowers. I think.
Um. All right. I'm going to cut you. I got to talk to Ron, and then I'm going to go. Bowers.
Thanks. Thanks, Matt. Have fun. Seven seven seven. Thanks, buddy.
All right. Thanks for being there, Matt. Joining us. Um, and then here is Big Ron. Once it loads, Big Ron loading on seven seven seven.
Ron, my man. Hey, you like the Violent Femmes? I love the Violent Femmes. I just had their drummer on. Oh, I'm I'm Bart.
I gotta apologize. I missed the whole show. I had to work late tonight. Um, don't worry about it. Don't apologize.
The drummer of Violent Femmes is here, and he was on the show earlier.
Okay, hold on. Yeah, take their phone call. No, I'm not taking it. Cancel. Hold on.
Hold on. Sorry about that. Your ringtone sounds like a slot machine. That was triggering me. Yeah.
What? Can you eat this? No.
You want that sandwich? I'll take it. Eat the sandwich. It's so good. Bart, I got a question for you.
Yeah, Ron. Are you um, are you like off off the sauce like permanently? What's going on with that? Uh, I don't know how long, but for now, yeah. How long has it been?
Uh, three months. Three months. Congratulations, man. Um, that's good for you, man. It teaches their own, dude.
That'll. I don't know how much. You don't know how much. Um, I don't know how much I want to share yet.
Okay, fair enough. That's that's that's your prerogative. Look, I'm going to game too. You too, John. I just want you to know, Ron.
It got like like some people, some people just can't handle it.
Okay, fair enough. All right, go ahead. What are you going to say?
So I'm going to Game Two when Freddie's pitching, and I'm sitting in the bleachers in the nosebleeds. But I am going to personally guarantee you, I will start the Freddie chant, and I will get it going. I will. I don't think Freddie. I don't.
I don't think he's going to think it's coming. No, I think he thinks we're too scared to do it to him. Yeah, and we're too nice, and and and he thinks we're he's look. I'm all for giving Freddie a standing ovation during the pregame announcements when they, you know, because it's game one, right? Or no, no, it's game two.
But they announce the lineups, I think, in the World Series before every game.
So give him a standing ovation before the game, pay him his dues, and then Freddie, Freddie, Freddie, the hell out of him. You know, during the game, and I am going to do everything within my power in the bleachers to get that chant going. Don't try to tell people to cheer too much, or you might get kicked out. Yes, that happened to you. Yes, according to a friend of mine.
Yes, yes. But um no I'm I'm definitely getting the Freddie Chance going I can't wait to watch the replay of this man I I love the Violent Femmes they were um the drummer is we were yucking it up like we were old friends did they still are they still together the Violent Yeah they're playing World Series Game One oh they are yeah like in the parking lot or at in the stadium in the Miller Light Landing. Oh, in the Miller Lite Land.
So you have to have a ticket for the game to get in, I think.
Okay, man, they're they're they're the I think they're the best. They're right up there with Citizen King, and I think they're ahead of Citizen King. It's the best Milwaukee band of all time. You know, yeah.
Okay, all right. I'm getting yelled at. All right, that's fine. I'm gonna log off anyway.
Okay, you're loud. I need to turn off.
Well, I'm gonna I'm gonna I'm gonna end the show.
Okay. Okay. All right. Okay. Peace out, man.
Peace out. Peace in our time. Yeah. Ultron, drink. Ah, I said peace in our time.
Ultron, drink. All right. See you, Ron. All right. Seven, seven, seven in the books.
Live crowd. Join us tonight. At of dot com backslash Winkleverse for episode one of that. Yeah, Tim Shea and I are gonna do it. We're gonna no.
We're gonna go through the world. We're gonna go through the MVP bets. Yeah, that's it. That's the it. We're gonna do that's that.
That's it. That's it. Thank you to Paddle. Thank you to Happy Place. I'm going to call Bart twenty five percent off each and every order.
Thank you to Dan Shaney for the streaming. Even though I kicked off his logo today. Thank you to Carl and Carl's Place. Is Koozie will be at the World Series game? Carl's Place Koozie.
Yeah. Okay. Okay. I like that. Rock and roll.
I like that. Thank you for all of you to listening to Wisconsin Bike Fed three feet away, not in this booth. We all got in on a three feet. Get in here, Tim. Tim Bart, look at this.
It's a Tim sandwich. Yeah, it's a Bart and Tim sandwich. I was going to say that, but then it's it's actually a Bart sandwich, right? With Tim bread. With Tim bread.
Yeah. But I'm not a stickler on that because it is a Tim sandwich. I'm sandwiched in between two Tims. Anyway, whatever. We're off the rails.
Good way to thank you, Henry. Did I win any money? I'll tell you that on OnlyFans later tonight. Thank you for stopping into the Winklerverse live at Potawatomi Sportsbook. Go Raiders!
