Welcome into the Winkler Verse. It is Thursday, October one. Ryan Horvat is here for our Week Four NFL picks against the spread. Again, I'm Bart Winkler. That is Ryan Horvat.
We are into the month of October. I'm going to have to start moving soccer practice up. I go 5:30. We're going to have to go at five. It's getting darker already.
Just a reminder: what the Wisconsin bike fed and I have been discussing over the last month. Do slow down, look around, both on your bike and in the car. And you want your lights on if you're a biker, if you're a driver. We all are using the roads together. Let's use it safely.
Check out more wisconsinbikefed.org, and we thank them for their support. Not a lot of run support for the Cubs pitchers the last couple of nights, brother man. I'm look. I everyone's worried about the Padres and Brewer Town. Whatever the NLDS, you're going to have good teams.
I just couldn't go through it again, win or lose. I rooted against the Cubs. I apologize to you and you alone.
Now I get it because I was trying to talk about this before the podcast, so we could just talk football and I could just get over it really quickly. And you were like, "No, let's just get into it." And so, yeah, I I'm disappointed because I mean, I'm not looking to glow. I'm giving you the space as a Cubs fan to discuss. You can deny it if you don't want it. I it was funny because in our family like group text message like I was telling you half off the air this was off the air guys off the air of course now we're on the air now you get to now you get the the good stuff if we if we could only air what what we're talking about between the breaks it's a completely different show half my family are Sox fans.
Half Cub fans, not many Cub fans actually, and so everybody was really happy and like, kind of like in the beginning, cheering for each other's teams. Like, I like this White Sox team. I'm, I like them, just like I like you guys. Like. Um, I don't like the Dodgers.
I want them to lose immediately, and now I kind of want the Padres to lose immediately as well. But so my cousin was like, "No, fuck that! Like, I want the Cubs to get shut out both." Oh, we're not swearing as much because YouTube's mean to me.
Okay, good. I won't swear then. Um, after I tell the story, but I, I was like, you know, so anyway, he he was like, "I hope you guys get shut out both games." I was like, "You idiot! That's not going to happen. It's one of the better offenses in Major League Baseball." Outside of the last month of the season, when their clutch numbers were the worst in Major League Baseball, and last night they did score a run, so at least even though they dropped both games, season over, I got to say, see, they got one; they scored one run.
Game one, they had three hits. It reminded me of Major League: one hit, one goddamn hit. Can't say goddamn on the radio. It was brutal. You know what's funny though, too, man, is like I hated this team all season long.
Like I love the 2016 team. I love Anthony Rizzo. I love Chris Bryant. I love Javy Baez. I love Arrieta.
I love Lester. Like those are some of my favorite players. You can't love anyone on this team because Council is a personality neuterer. Yeah, this guy. We could have Milwaukee would have been run, run by Kesten Hira if Council didn't have his way.
I promise you. I just like it's more that I don't like Jed Hoyer and I think he's an idiot. Like you spend all this money and don't get me wrong. Like you know, for the majority of the summer, the offense was really good. They scored a ton of runs, but they had no starting pitching.
The bullpen was nonsense again. And it's like you're a top five market. What I think here's what really like. When I woke up and I was like, I'm not as mad as I used to be because I hate like 80 of the Cub fans. All of a sudden, it used to be like I loved them because I would go to Wrigley and we were lovable losers and we won 60 games every year and we stunk.
2016 was fun because we were all like, Holy shit, we're here a year early.
Now it's all these like 20 year olds on Twitter with like PCA as God as their handle, and I tweeted out like the victory celebration. I thought that was bullshit. Like you spent, and I put. Highest salary cap, and everybody's like, they don't have the highest salary cap.
Okay, top ten, number seven. They spend a ton of money this off season. I know the Dodgers and the fucking Mets and the other you know big market teams spend more money, but the product that they rolled out, like you got a guy making a start last night, season on the line with a bum fucking shoulder. We're not. You're the Chicago.
We're not making any money on this one. I won't swear again. It's too late, but you're a Cubs fan and you're upset, and that's fine.
Well, it's just like I'm not even that upset because I realize like I hate. No, yeah, he don't seem upset at all. Joe Joe says, "Let him cook." Honestly, you want to know why I was like, why I'm upset? Is because I bet them, I bet them to win the series plus one thirty. That's why.
Why would you do that? Why? Honestly, I just kind of wanted to fade San Diego as hot as they've been.
So wait, and again, I bet the I I had the Packers as my survivor last week, and that was partly because I needed to just I needed I need I don't know they suck. I need to get more into them. I'm not I'm not angry. If we start over, do you get to make money? No, I don't care.
I needed that. I needed i as a as a Wisconsin podcast. I needed five minutes of you bitching about the Cubs. But you really so I get that you don't want to do it with the fans. But you really would rather see this Padres team than the Cubs that are rolling out a guy with a one arm.
Like, well, I mean, they're rolling out a guy with a bum shoulder. Like, look at that rotation. I mean, I'm not if I'm if I can't convince you, I can't convince you. I don't want to ever see the Cubs in the playoffs again. Yeah, but I don't even know that they would have won a game in that series.
The Padres, I know, I know, guys, they're hot. Even even look, and here's the main thing, and this is what I said eight years ago, I guess, and this is what I said, you know, last year. But whenever there's been the chance, I am so just tired of it. Of all of Chicago versus Wisconsin, and I've been—I've been a hypocrite. I'm entering the fray and talking about the Bears every chance I get.
I have been doing that, which is against what I stand for. But also, this whole Chicago vibe right now is everybody's asking, everybody's acting like it's the first time anything's ever happened. Like PCA is the first guy that's ever been good at baseball. He's the first guy ever go forty forty. Caleb Williams is the first quarterback to ever go to a Cubs game.
You know, we're the first coach to ever you know light a fire or take a shirt off. It's just a lot of stuff. The the Cubs when they won that World Series, and a lot of the fans are young.
So a lot of the fans that I deal with are like twenty to twenty five.
So. They're not like because I want to say the way Cubs fans are acting—they've had it pretty good. They but Cubs fans act like the one World Series, like they had sex for the first time, and then you you complained all your friends, or you not complain, you brag, and then like you may have done this. I'm going to be very vague about this, but also very clear. You may have done this sometime with your friends if you're just sitting around like playing video games, and then you go like this.
Hey guys, guys. You know what I mean? Yeah, yeah.
So that's what Cubs fans do. But these Cubs fans were so young back then that they're basically gloating that their older brother had sex ten years ago. That's basically what's happening. These kids are insane. They don't get it.
I am old, but old brings experience, and I'm not a boomer, so I'm perfect, just like you. You know what's funny? Really, like I told my wife last night. Though I go, you know, like honestly, I think it's crazy because if you're a Dodgers fan, fan, if you're a Yankees fan, if you're a Boston fan, like you want to win the World Series every year, and if you don't, you're disappointed. I'm kind of just like, I got mine in 2016, and I could die a happy man.
Now I still get upset. That's maybe how I feel about the Bucks. It's more just how they went out. Why I was upset, like they scored one run in two games.
Well, and you had Craig Counsell come down across the border and not beat the Brewers one single time in anything meaningful. And I keep going back and forth, like just because when I lived when I worked at the fan, I really liked Craig and I thought he was a really good dude, but I don't like him as a manager anymore. But also, I don't want to judge him too harshly because. Like I saw somebody tweet out, when has he made a pitching decision? Like, when has he made the right decision as far as like a pitching decision?
And I was thinking though, like, who did you want him to go to, really? Yeah, but the the main reason Council went there was to have Kyle Tucker instead of Blake Perkins, to have Alec Bregman instead of Luis Urias. They traded away their top prospect for a guy that didn't even make the postseason roster. Their number two or number three guy for you know a dude that didn't even see the fucking fricking mound. I just I don't want to talk about him anymore.
I'm done with the Cubs. Good luck to you guys. Honestly, I hope you either you guys or the White Sox win it all. Ah, thank you, and I hope that's the World Series so I can maybe go to some of those games down on the south side. The odds for the hope.
I got odds for the Pope to attend the DS, and it's yes is plus or minus money is yes. He ain't coming to the DS. He'll maybe come to a World Series game. He ain't coming to any games. I think he'll go to the DS.
What is he? Why would he not? I don't. You're not. If you're the Pope, you're not going to the DS.
I don't know, man. The White Sox, like this, was the worst team, one of the worst teams in like Major League Baseball history, just a couple years ago.
Now they're in the DS. I think there's a good chance he will. We'll see. We'll see if he's a real fan. Hey, unless he's like Sister Jean, rest in peace, and only shows up when the team's in the final four.
I'm sorry, that was a little blow. I forgot she passed away. She did live 105 glorious years, though. If I if I make it to 105, you guys could. Could take your shots at me.
Football. Do you feel like you've lived half your life? I do. No, I don't really.
Well, if I'm 42, if I make it to 84, if I make it to 84, I never thought I was going to make it to like 40. 40 always seemed old.
Now I'm here. My birthday is this weekend, or no, no, no, no. It's my birthday month, but my birthday is October ninth. Today is the first. When you're unemployed, you kind of mix all these things up in your head.
If you had to put retired, if you had to put, if you bet on your own demise, like 40s, 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, which decade do you think you die in? Oh God, I have no idea. Because I would bet I go in the sixties. Why? I think I am like a.
I think I am like a. Bart Winkler passed away unexpectedly at the age of sixty six. Sixties. That's what I think. I feel like for me, I hate to even say it.
It'll probably be like forty eight. Probably like tonight. Do you the Steelers and the Browns start on Thursday? We'll have picks here. We're going to look at the Pottawatomie lines. This, by the way, is episode number seven hundred and fifty-seven.
So we're twenty away from seven seven seven. Um, we are going to hit that sooner than I thought.
So I'm gonna try to figure out with Pato because I want to celebrate that episode at Pato. And now I might do like episode 782, and it's the seven. Ah, whatever. It doesn't matter. We just want to get together.
So we'll have details on that coming up, and how you can win a bar tab with me and Timmy one night. And also with the Steelers playing tonight, do we have to talk about Mike Tomlin's Minecraft world? Man, I saw a lot of guys that cover the team and Steelers fans. Like, how does an NFL coach have the time to do this? And then I saw—I think it was like Warren Sharp—put together the numbers where, like, the first couple seasons when he was winning and they win a Super Bowl.
Like, you know, I have the numbers before Minecraft: two Super Bowls, one one, five and three in the playoffs. After Minecraft. No Super Bowls in three and nine in the playoffs, and it's okay to have other hobbies. The world, though, is so intricate that he made that it has to like be taking up some of his time that could have gone into because I've. I got into Sim City long ago.
I had the Simpsons Tapped Out game that I spent a lot of time and a lot of money on, and they ripped it like they just took it away, which kind of sucks. I would have had an amazing town, but it's also saved me a lot of cash and a lot of time. I don't like. I think it's cool and whatever, but also, like I. I wanted to be able to be like, oh, Mike Tomlin's got a hobby unrelated to football, but this town is so intricate that it it had to have done something.
Like Mike McCarthy's not doing this.
Well, what's funny is they replaced. Then they replaced Tomlin, who was building all these. I mean, Mike McCarthy's probably on like level forty thousand of Candy Crush. My son loves Minecraft. This has been going on for years.
I didn't know what it was in the beginning. I was calling it Minecraft to like mess with them, and then I was like, "Oh no, this is pretty cool." I asked him. I was like, "What do you think of his world?" And he was like, "Yeah, that's awesome." Um, I was like, "How much time do you think he actually spent on this?" A lot. Because then I looked at like what my kids been doing.
So I would say, but what's funny is they replaced Tomlin. And then with Mike McCarthy, who remember when he got canned that season after the loss to Arizona, and it was like we found out the reports he was getting like massages, like deep tissues during special teams practice and stuff like that. I just feel like after a certain point, right? Like no matter where you work, especially when you figure the figure out like what you could get away with, doesn't matter what you're doing, you know. But um, yeah.
I hear a bunch of weird stuff about Tomlin. I was always like, I don't. He's good on TV. I was always like, I don't get why you guys hate him, because you guys go to the playoffs every year. But then I thought about it, and I was like, that's kind of like us, though, right?
Like you get to the playoffs, and then you're one and done, or you lose in disappointing fashion, and you need a you need a change in the locker room, right? Like Lafleur, they're in the playoffs every year. Probably not this year, but you still want them gone. I still want them gone because. You know, you you want to win in the playoffs.
You want to win Super Bowls. Yeah, I wanted him gone when it was possible to have him gone.
Now I I see everyone talking about hot seat, and he's not on the hot seat. He's not the hot seat. The Packers wanted this. They they signed up for more. You don't think Lafleur's on the hot seat?
No, I think it goes like this, right? I don't think like if they miss out on the playoffs, I think he has. The Micah not being available excuse kind of thing, so I think it would be like next year would be the hot seat.
Well, if this is our odds show, like I think minus fifteen hundred, he's still the coach week one next year. I'm with you. I think like next year, though, let's say they even get off to a slow start, I think there's a chance that they would remove him and fire him during the season. But I don't think he's getting canned this year. I don't either.
Right, I just think that that's kind of how it goes. I mean, making the playoffs in the NFL is tough, and I can't just complain about Lafleur all season.
So now I've moved on to Goody, and I don't think this patchwork hire everyone who was retired move is going to work on offensive line. And I've moved on to Ed Policy because I think the NFL has put him in here as a plant to be so bad that we have to go to a real ownership structure so that we can get private equity and then move. I want to get the next genius OC, and I want to hire. I want to hire Brian Flores, and I said that to one of my buddies, and he was like, "Oh, but Flores is not a head coach," which I agreed with a couple of years ago. But man, like this team needs toughness, like I said.
And then I thought about he's like he's terrible to his quarterbacks. He was an asshole to one quarterback, and it was Tua, and for good reason. Like Tua cannot play the position, so I think they need to make a change. But I'm with you, man. I don't think he's.
I think like next year's the hot seat year. Plenty of season left too. Maybe they could get hot and go on a run here. Although that Atlanta game was disgusting. I predicted that they would lose that game, but I did not think that they were going to lose in that fashion.
I did think Bijan was going to go off. Thank God I played all his props, but I didn't know that him and. Drake London would both have a buck ninety four. Who did? Who was your pick to click in that game?
Is the Kias? Yeah. Did he play? Yeah, I'm just kidding. He was.
He caught like a pass for minus a yard. All right. Tonight's game is interesting because Browns are two and one and they've won two straight.
So I'm looking right now. You could get the Steelers. You could get a three. It's in Pittsburgh. It's no, it's in Cleveland.
Ooh, I was hoping that I, I would have went if it were in Pittsburgh. It's only like a three hour drive. I want to see Rogers one more time.
So, Paddle right now has maybe I'll go to Cleveland. It's only eight hour drive. I went there for SummerSlam. I could make it into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. It's actually a pretty good time.
I love Cleveland. I like Cleveland too. The Cleave. I like Cleveland. I've been there, like I've been there for leisure, like four times.
Really? Yeah. I go to like yeah, like I said, like SummerSlam. I'll do some concerts. They got a casino downtown.
They got the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The stadiums are downtown. What's not to like? And you can get away with anything because, like, even if you do some messed up stuff, like nobody's gonna be like, "Hey, I saw Bart Winkler in Cleveland." They'll be like, "I saw a doppelganger of Bart Winkler," but they'll never think like, "Hey, he's spending his vacation time in Cleveland." Exactly.
So the Steelers are two and a half point favorites. You can get a three, but it's expensive and it's not at Poto, so we don't recommend you do so. The total in the game is very low because it's Deshaun Watson against Aaron Rodgers in the year 2026 with these defenses. Thirty seven and a half is what Poto has right now. It was thirty eight and a half.
So Steelers, two and a half point favorites. I hate to do this, but man, Rodgers. With the world on fire last week, like I said, he would because the conversation was should he be benched for Drew Aller if he gets off to a slow start? He played like. He's not getting benched.
No, no. McCarthy did not agree to this to bench him in October. He is he is punting a year to figure out who's next at quarterback, and also. Just dick around with Rogers. McCarthy is not benching Rogers, or Rogers would not be there.
If this game is in Pittsburgh, I'm taking the Steelers. I hate to be like, and I know home field advantage. I probably am a home field guy on this too. But, but I don't know. I hate him, but Deshaun Watson is playing decent football right now.
Nobody crush me on that one, and. I said it last year. The Browns are a quarterback away. I don't think he's the quarterback. The problem, and here's the problem now.
Browns. I need. I need. Should I start? They're not going to get one of these guys.
And even who, if they could, who would be that guy? Go on. Basically, this game to me is about: Am I starting DK Metcalf or not? I honestly don't even want to build a roster for this game because my favorite bet, if I have to bet the game and I haven't under, I want thirty-eight and a half. I'll go under thirty-eight and a half.
I think this has at most twenty-seventeen written all over it, and I think the Browns. I hate to do it. I I just I worry a little bit about this one for my boy Rogers. I think he's going to take a ton of sacks. Give me Cleveland.
I'm not betting this one though, but I would I would only bet Cleveland. I would want a three. There's only a two and a half that I could get cheap. I'll take Browns though. Maybe I'll go double defense.
Yeah. Hey, anyone who drafted Rico Dowdle, you need to retire from fantasy football. There was no way he was going to be good. Why do people think he was going to be good? Because he had four decent weeks in Carolina last year.
Oh, he decent weeks. He was rushing for like two hundred. Right, but I I locked in. I stayed in on Hubbard. Yeah, me too.
I love Hubbard. He's on my team too. And then I I don't think that I don't think that Caleb. I don't think that who am I even talking about? You were talking about Rico.
Yeah, I don't think Rico's any good. Were you going to say you don't think Caleb Williams is very good? No, Caleb Williams is good, but. He's not. I love after Monday Night Football, though.
We'll get to the Bears in a second. My my buddies, some of them now half all of them love Caleb, but a couple of them are like big Ben Johnson guys, obviously, and they're like, "Man, would the offense look better with a quarterback that doesn't have to like run around all the time and just got rid of the ball quickly and made the throws?" Like Colston Loveland comes alive, dude. Burden comes alive. All of the offense came alive. And yeah, I'm a big Caleb guy, but woo, look good on Sunday.
I would still start Beijer. You you paid him ten million dollars to be the backup, and I guarantee Case Keenum isn't giving you that two weeks in a row. Here's my lineup right now. I got Metcalf in there as the MVP, Rogers, Fannin, Deshaun, and then I'm going double D. Steelers Browns.
Yeah, man, I really hope Rogers lights the world on fire tonight because he's my favorite player of all. This this this lineup, there's no way this lineup caches, but I'm that's what I'm doing. Yeah, this game is. Ah, I'm always excited when I get to watch Aaron Rodgers play football. Um, but man, I'm excited for that.
I haven't really seen the Steelers like. With McCarthy and Rogers for more than the highlights yet, so I am excited to watch the game. Last week was fun. I don't know. It's a busy night though.
You got Phillies, Braves, and Big Brother finale. Yeah, I am not watching it. My team's dead, so I am not watching any baseball. I don't. I have never seen an episode of Big Brother in my life, and I am taking the Browns.
Who you go? I am going to go with the Steelers. I actually am going with the Steelers.
Okay. If you need. A little more juice, and you don't like betting. Anything is going to be a little scoring. That's where the drive comes in.
Remember, the drive is the sponsor of the Ryan Horvat experience. Essentially, the drive is sponsoring our picks, our pick show. But more than anything, they're they're they're sponsoring you. Dan loves you, and everyone loves you, and they should love you. Come for the game, stay for the drive.
Check it out, playthedrive dot com. It's a card game. You pick the cards. You see what's going to happen on that drive. You can win money against your buddies.
You can win money. Look at this guy's won a lot of ones. Kind of looks like one of my brothers, actually. Don't that look like Brock guys a little bit, with the hair?
So check it out. Playthedrive dot com. Playthedrive dot com. What do you think that guy did with all those singles? You think he went to Heartbreakers on National Avenue, or do you think he went to Silk Exotic Platinum Gentlemen's Club?
Well, if he went to the other place in Fondulac, when you give your singles to the person, they then, when the music stops, have to use those singles to plug the jukebox. I saw it with my own eyes. Really? Yeah, they don't have like a DJ or anything. She takes her tip singles to plug the jukebox to play.
Pussy cat dolls. That don't you think your girlfriend is hot like me? Or I'm gonna loosen up my buttons, babe, so you can front and see what you gonna do to me. Uh huh. Cause I see nothing.
To loosen up my buttons, babe.
Okay. I'd be like, put on a put on a hurricane, or put on like Stairway to Heaven, something like 15 minutes long. Anyway, uh, let's go to the next hurricane. Didn't that sound like forty-five minutes long? And I want to see you dancing.
I want to see you dancing like no one doubted any pole tricka. She's dancing. That's a wild ass song, by the way. It is. I can't believe that.
Like that song, I can't believe it exists. No, that would not fly today. No. All right. So, wow.
Oh no, we already got one of these. I did see though our good buddy, a friend of the show, Toby, is out in London, England. Toby, he'll be in Hotspur Stadium for this one, where the Commanders are three and a half point dogs right now at Pato. Total in the game forty-seven and a half. We've seen some line movement, where the original line would have been Colts one and a half point dogs.
Now they're three and a half point favorites because Jaden Daniels is dead. Let me say this. I hate to be this guy. I don't like to be hot take guy. I think Jaden Daniels' teammates, especially with the whole off season, his mom always having to be at practice.
Everybody hates the friend whose mom has to be there, or is, or worse, the friend that even on boys' night he's got to bring his girl. His girl is always there, and he's like, "Well, she drives us," and it's like, "No, we don't want her to." There's Ubers, buddy. Anyway, I think that the Commanders. Like being in the huddle with Marcus Mariota more than they do Jaden Daniels. I think they're going to show well in this game.
I think they're going to cover the three and a half and maybe even win. I bet the Commanders. I like the Commanders. I think four and a half points is too big of an adjustment. I think Mariota, even in the Lord's year of two thousand and twenty-six, could sling the pill a little bit and move around a little bit.
So, give me the Commanders, man. I am just not impressed with this Colts team, even after the win last week.
Now they got to go. To England or London, so yeah.
So it's Commanders Colts. Yeah, Commanders Colts. Nine thirty a.m. I got to get up for this one. I actually won't be able to watch all of it for my son has lacrosse practice.
Lacrosse?
Well, yeah, he tried lacrosse. Do you think he's ever like a five-week thing? But gonna be like people just think Oz. I'm just this kick-ass lacrosse player. You know, I also play football, but there's more to me than that.
The um, there's not going to be football.
So, there's not the Shorewood where I live has had a co-op with Mesmer for 25 years, and then they added Whitefish Bay Dominican, and they weren't able to field a varsity soccer or varsity football team last year.
Soccer was the homecoming game. That's going to happen again. That's happening again this year, and now they're disbanding.
So there's like no, there's going to be no football for my kid to grow up and play. There's not even going to be any football like this year. There's just not enough kids going out for football. It's already happened, and Jake had this thought the other night that we might be watching a product we don't even know how much. Of an influence that's already had, because you look five years ago.
Lou Kuechly's retiring. Chris Borland.
Some of these guys. We don't know how many programs didn't happen. We don't know how many kids went out for football. I feel like football, at least maybe sports as a whole, but football. I feel like football peaked already.
I'm like, so I don't. We're not going to get the best of the best anymore because people are like. Yeah, I could play football for five years, or I could have a functioning brain, and they're picking brain. Yeah, like my grandpa Gordy's rule was always that like no football until high school. But I always thought like that's a dog shit rule because I really like flag football and I think it's great for the kids.
But you're so far behind. Like then freshman year, those kids know how to hit. They know how to wrap up and tackle. Right, but. There's tons like here on the East Coast.
I thought this was more like an East Coast thing because when I go back to the Midwest, all my cousins' kids, all my buddies' kids are still playing football, tackle football already. But here, man, I like my kid plays hockey, but it's lacrosse, it's soccer. I thought that was more just like an East Coast thing. I don't think football is ever going anywhere because still, like especially now on the West Coast, they're playing year-round, Florida. Right in the Midwest, but I do think that there's probably going to be like less kids playing because of the brain injuries and more early retirements.
It's also earlier to like easier to like if you're Luke Kuechly, yeah, you're retiring early, or Andrew Luck, you're retiring early, but you've already made over a hundred mil, man. But you're not playing the whole career. Like, go on, take the money and run.
So then now you're having Hall of Fame talent leave you. They've they've totally ruined college football. But the one thing I do like. Is paying the kids not so much like the Arch Mannings of the world that don't need the money, but the running backs who maybe you sign that like one year contract, right? But like now they're making four or five million in college, so hopefully a lot of these dudes don't blow that because yeah, you could give it up, you could go do something else and have some money to play with, generational money to take care of your kids and your kids' kids for when you get laid off, even though you have the number one rated show.
Would you? Would you like to know where I was eight years ago today? Kind of, a little bit, yeah. I'm not sure you do. Eight years ago today, huh?
Where you at? Eight years ago today, I was on the field at Wrigley for Game 163. One of okay, so one of the worst days of my life.
So I've lived a pretty privileged life. I had to do sports updates that day. I'm watching my team. In the locker room, yeah, that's actually kind of look at this picture I took. Eucher Stern's counsel and Mark.
That's a beautiful thing right there. R.I.P. to Euch. I uh, I think that's kind of when it all went to hell for the Cubs, dude. I think the Brewers broke the Cubs.
I know the Brewers broke the Cubs. I thought that that team Rizzo, Bryant, Javy. I thought that that was going to be a dynasty. And then, like Addison Russell did, bad stuff. Half the guys on the team forgot how to hit.
Like they couldn't hit off speed pitching. I could have pitched to the fricking half the lineup, especially Javy Baez. I never understood why Javy ever saw a pitch. You could have rolled the ball in the dirt and he would have swung at it. But I think the Brewers broke the Cubs.
Yeah, I do too. And and and Bears fans are saying they broke the Packers. And now Bears fans are mad that this game moved from 3:25 to noon next week. You broke us, so Bears, your fault. Bears didn't break us.
Goop broke us. He can't evaluate talent. That offensive line is god awful. Anyway, let's get to the next game. Let's move off of London and let's go.
Oh, I didn't take a team. What was the line? Oh, it's uh, jeez, sorry. Hold on! It just went off the board.
Oh, there's back. It's three and a half still though. Commanders three and a half point dogs. Colts three and a half point favorites. I like the commander.
I like Mariota overseas. Yeah, that's all I'm saying, man.
So all right. We're on the same side on that one. All right, let's go to the Bears since we just got done talking about them. I bet this game three and a half point favorites at home, Soldier Field against the Jets. That's what Pato has.
Total in the game forty-three. Just like I said, and everybody was like, "Oh, you're betting Case Keenum," and I said, "No, I'm betting that Caleb Williams isn't worth a seven-point adjustment." I know he was on the cover of Madden. I again, dude, this original number was going to be Bears eight and a half.
Now they're only three and a half point favorites, but I'm not going back to Chicago. I hate Aaron Glenn, but I think the Jets are at least going to keep this game within a field goal. I think this is too much hype because Chicago looked good with Case Keenum standalone game against the Eagles, who I think might be broken on the defensive side of the ball. Cooper DeGene spent half the season. Never mind, but like I think Fangio might be washed, and I think that they're like having a little bit too much fun during the off season.
I like the Jets to cover, maybe even win this game outright. Give me the fighting Aaron Glenn's plus three and a half against Chicago. Who should start Tyson Bajent though? He's the backup. He makes ten million.
You shouldn't. You can't lose your job to injury. I did not see any of the Bears and Eagles game at all because I was at Monday Night Raw. Ah, you didn't miss much, man. It was pretty boring.
So I don't have any like. I don't. I don't. That is not in my head. I don't.
Here's what you miss. Cooper DeGene looks like he either partied all off season, or he tried to get too bulky to play in the box more. Isn't he still dating some lady that's fifty? No, I think now he's with the Dallas Cowboy. He looks like he was playing.
He he was he's playing in the box more this year, and it looks like that's what he was doing all off season. Oh, oh I'm taking the Bears, is what I'm saying. Eagles are Eagles, dude. Fangio, it might be time for him to go bye bye. You're you're taking the Bears, yeah.
Oh, Jets for me. B E A R S, bears, bears, bears, bears. J E T S, jets, jets, jets. I won't even light up the lamp if they cover for me. All right, next game that I bet.
I think bear down doesn't work because when they do the emoji bear and a down sign, it looks like they're saying bears are down. They should say bear up because then it looks like bears are on the bear. They got to be on the come. Yeah, always got to be on the come. Bears down does not look like they're on the come.
So here we got a Buffalo at home, six and a half point favorites over the corpse of the Patriots. They're like the Brewers in this series. That Kyle Harrison's on the come. On the come, dude. How bad do the Patriots look?
And was Drake May crying on the sidelines, dude? Drake May. I avoided him in all my fantasy leagues, and then in one league, I'm like, "Oh, Drake May here is good value. Drake May is not good value on the free agent market. Drake May sucks.
The Patriots suck. The Patriots. If I don't have concrete evidence, but I know it to be true." Diana Rossini ruined the Patriots. That's who ruined the Patriots. They're just pretending like this, even if it's not a big deal.
Two people, f okay. They still, it's still a thing. It was a distraction. Reporter was nailing your coach, and you're just you're bringing a dog to the press conference and pretending like it's gonna go away. It's not going away.
Also, they just played a really easy schedule last year too, and I think that there's more tape on Drake May out there. All this to say, though, so actually, this is. I also think there's a correlation. Like, the more Vrabel was boinking Rusini, the bigger Belichick's tits get. I boinked her.
Did you say boink? Would you kill a cheetah, dude? I. This is the Ryan Horvat. Let's pump it up, special, because not only are the Patriots going to cover.
They're gonna win this game outright in Buffalo. Everybody thinks they're dead; they probably are. But Buffalo three and o they cover the number against the Chargers, unfortunately, and cost me a couple hundred last week. I am not gonna take Patriots money line, but I am gonna take the Patriots to cover the number six and a half. The opening line here was three.
I know the Patriots look like dog crap, but that's a three and a half point adjustment. Season's really on the line. If you start one and three in Buffalo. It's in Buffalo. It's at the new stadium.
It's at a Hi Mark, but I'm going to take the Patriots to keep this one close. Pats plus six and a half. Fire me up. Six and a half is probably too high. It's a big number.
It was three a couple weeks ago, but then the Patriots. You know, Drake may cried on the sidelines. Do you think Trevor Lawrence? What was happening there? I really think it was kind of like we are so much better than you.
You guys suck. I don't. I'm the quarterback. I'm the leader here. I want to get tooting in the end zone.
I want to get one of my other. I agree. I don't. He wasn't gambling. No, no.
If he was gambling, he would have went down at like the five. I do have some homies. You're not. You're not like he had like his head in the end zone in the ball. He's like not.
No, I'm not going to do it. Mike done that if he's gambling. I'm going to take the Patriots to cover. Yeah, but I like the score to be like 40 to 34. All right, um, dude, I can't wait for this game.
Here's another one I bet. These are two of my favorite teams to watch in the league right now. I like the Bengals. The bounce back here—they're two and a half point favorites. It's minus one fifteen against the Jags.
I took the money line just because I've seen crazy stuff happen, and I could see them. I'm digging the Bills. Oh, you're going back on that one? Yeah, to cover. Yeah, there is a chance they just cover big numbers all year.
People were betting them to miss the playoffs, and I just don't understand that. Like, sure, how? How? Sure, Josh Allen could get hurt, but. Like he's supposed to be hurt right now with his knee injury, and then we're looking at him at practice dropping back.
He looks great. Yeah, imagine the Diana Rossini storyline. Just because just because football started doesn't mean the Rossini storyline gets to go away. Patriots need to keep losing so we bring that back up. That's right, man.
All right, so you go Bills. I'm going Bengals over the Jags because I think the defense bounces back. I think Burrow has a better game. Everybody's saying Burrow's not clutch and bringing up his fourth quarter numbers. I think Burrow's got like one win when the Bengals are trailing in the fourth quarter.
It's like one in thirty-four or something like that. Total in the game is huge, fifty-one and a half, and hasn't moved. I'm gonna go Bengals over the Jags at home. I bet this. If I was an unmarried man, what would you do?
And Diana Rossini today, everything else plays the same except I'm unmarried. And today she shows up at my door in a little.
Okay, you're single. Yep.
Okay, go on. She shows up at my door in a little skirt. And says, "I want to be with you." Okay. I would not answer the door. Bullsh.
No, yeah, right. I don't trust her. I see.
Okay, I'm gonna say. Oh, okay, then that's fine. Maybe I don't. There were these girls. There were these girls I knew in college.
Like a lot of these girls I knew, some they they they they they had a mysterious side. Like something's up. I can't explain it. Yeah, and you think Ruscini is in this? Yeah, how do we get back at her again?
That's all I can think about is those legs. Do you like the Bengals, or do you think that the Jags prevail on the road as two and a half? If I was single and she showed up at my door on accident, I'd probably kidnap her and never leave the house. Actually, Jesus, Jesus, you're bad about me saying the F word when talking about my my foot my baseball team. You're gonna get us.
They're gonna get us arrested. The FBI is gonna be after us. Who do I like in that game? What is the game? It is a big one.
It's the Jags on the road taking on the Bengals. Two two and one teams looking to improve to three and one. One of these teams, like the rest, or the Jags, are gonna be on the road like the rest of their life. Yeah, dude. Bengals win here.
Bengals win by a field goal. Give me a Jack Attack. All right, Duvall. I like the Jags. All right, next game, we got the Eagles looking to bounce back after looking like dog poop against the Bears.
Wow, Rams were a one and a half point favorite. This got hit this morning. They are now a three point favorite.
Well, the Rams are one and two. Yeah, who does who would have saw that coming? Us.
So here is what I was just about to say. I'm going to present to you Eagles theory. Which is inverse of Titans theory, but maybe actually the same. Yeah, I think the Eagle. Everyone's so down on the Eagles.
Where is this game? It's in Philly. It's in Philly. What's the line? Three for the Rams.
Rams are three point favorites. This is my drive to Pato game of the week. Let's go! What are you gonna do? Go birds!
Yeah, go birds! I need it for my bet, my narrative. I got them missing the playoffs plus four fifty. You know what? I gotta go to Pato anyway because I gotta do my bucks bet for the five hundred.
Yeah, over. Yeah, I could. I could find an extra hundy, put on the eggs. This is the story of the one. As a shipping manager, he's running the dock, stocking supplies, and making sure every order goes out on time.

Twenty dollars off your first purchase. Terms apply. Obviously, there's like a lot of season left, but I feel really good about my whole take on why I like the Rams under. I said Stafford's gonna look older. Like, yeah, he won the MVP last year, but going into the year, we had him in like a hyperbolic chamber.
Puka is not gonna be present. He's not. Devontae. Hey, I got. I got one.
I got a real good one. But I said Garrett's not the same player, and I said Aaron Donald won't be the same player. He hasn't played football in four. They're not even going to play together until like week fifteen. Did you see him get choke slammed?
He got choke slammed to hell. Would you agree with me that Puka? Hold on, we got to set this up, folks. This I promise you will not be worth the wait. Would you agree to me that Puka is a shell?
Of himself. Oh, I like that. I was weirdly thinking about the laugh track the other day, and I was like, "Why did they ever? Why was that ever a thing?" I didn't know that actually ended. I thought that went forever.
Why did we need to be told when to laugh during sitcoms? Like Kramer walks in the door, I'm just gonna laugh. I don't need some audience to laugh with. Because we were being sitcoms were a way to control us. Like I get in Cheers.
Cheers was was filmed in front of a live audience, and so was Coach, I believe. Yeah, Coach is filmed in front of a live studio audience. Coach was like Dauber saying it. Dauber, yeah. Coach is Hayden.
Man, one of the greatest all time. Greatest, Christine. Christine. Tamra. I'm with you, dude.
I think that because the Eagles are so bad, I you know what's funny? I see Philly Philly fans, Eagles fans, that like don't want Jalen back next year. The dude's played in two Super Bowls and he's played his two best games in those Super Bowls. He won one, you lost one. He ain't the issue.
The defense hasn't looked very good. You can't let Case Keenum in the Lord's year of 2026 pick you apart. You couldn't let Case Keenum in 2022 pick you apart. I like the Eagles to bounce back and at least cover the three. I don't know that they win, but I'll take the three.
Yeah, I like the Eagles. I think there's going to be a lot of. They're going to still try. Corum's out, isn't he? Isn't Blake Corum out?
Is he? He might be. I didn't see that. Yeah, Blake Corum is. I think he's out.
He's out. I think you're making things up. I don't know. I thought I saw that. Either way, there's going to be a lot of Kyron Williams.
Yeah, was he out? No, he's not out.
Well, there's going to be a lot of Kyron Williams. Yeah, there's also going to be a lot of crying. Williams. Eagles. All right, we're not going to we're not going to save this one for last because they stay.
Don't boo. It's next on the board. Bucks are three and a half point dogs against the Packers. Total in the game is so so low, thirty eight and a half. Ah, Packers win.
Packers win, but only by a field goal. What's the line again? Three and a half. I like Jalen Daniels. Jalen Daniels.
He looked eight. I mean, Baker was terrible. That cost me money last week. I think Baker's secretly done. Yeah, and he got hurt.
He was screaming on the field. He wanted that last payday because he knows it's over. I mean, they have an idiot for a head coach. I was all the way out on the Bucks. I think the Packers again.
I think they win this game, but I don't think they cover. I'm going to take the Bucks plus three and a half. You know those like fighting games where the the energy bar is dead, but you're not able to kill him. Like these, that's Baker. Baker's been on pure.
Baker's career ended two years ago. He's been on pure adrenaline since.
Now he's running out. Yeah, this is Jalen Daniels' football team, folks. You heard it here second. Other than the Daniels family, first Jalen Daniels, the Ted Hearst is going to be the new Joe Montana to Jerry Rice. Think so.
That's a terrible take. I just haven't seen enough from the Packers to think that they could win by margin four points, a full touchdown. Like, I just, I hope I'm wrong, dude. But like, well, I don't give a shit about this game. All I can think of is Luke.
Like, Van Ness has been really good. Who else is is like impressed you on this team though? McKinney, I still is fine.
Well, yeah, I mean, yeah. Do you like our? Are we starting all three new guys on the line? Are we starting Tomlinson, Zeitler, and then who is the other one? Beckett.
I mean, it's so bad right now. I don't even. I. I mean, like how many different combinations? This is exactly what you do with a Madden franchise when you rebuild.
You just sign the best offensive alignment for a year, and they're all like seventy-one, seventy, and there's thirty. I'm gonna buy the new Madden today. You haven't bought it yet? No, because I don't. I like it.
Think it's that different every year.
Now this year is actually like it's really it's tough to run the ball, especially like when it's almost like realistic where you get into the red zone and it's tougher to score, which I like. The Warriors here. The Warriors, my guy from the Infinity. What's up, brother? Mitch says our punter is good.
There we go. Sugar Nut says Sugar Knots says Baker's different without. Liam Cohen. It also doesn't matter who the quarterback is, who the coach is. I just never trust the Packers in these warm weather Florida games, dude.
They never play good. I think they'll win, but I think they win by a field goal.
So if it's three and a half, I'll take the Bucks with the hook. The hook. Bart Winkler's show says, "I want Rusini tonight." Jesus, Jesus. Settle down, perv. Yeah, weirdo.
I already know the picture. Uh, what do you got? I will. I'm going. Tampa covers the three and a half.
Packers win by a field goal. I think the I think the Packers look. By the way, the post game show is going to be after the Brewers game. Packers play at noon Central. Brewers play at three.
I'm not talking about the Packers during the NLDS. Yeah, who would even care? Yeah, I am going to take the Packers to cover.
Okay, I think they still end up winning nine games. Nine. I think. I don't think they get better. I think they, I think they win games like they beat the Jets.
There's going to be a three-win game. There, I just, I don't. It just feels very like, oh, the Packers are one and two. Everyone's on Lafleur's ass now. I was right.
The whole no. This is going to be a. This is not going to be easy. The Packers aren't going to just extend Lafleur and then he fails miserably, and then they're like, "Oh, duh, we screwed up," and everything's going to get solved. Lafleur's going to be here for years, and it's going to be years like this, and it's going to be dragged out, and he's going to give you just enough to believe, even though he's not going to give you enough to believe.
He's going to give you enough to believe if you want to believe. Like you are staying with him now for the children. You should kick this guy out of the house and let Ruscini come in. If they lose this game, season over. Bears on deck.
Yeah, the season is over. I mean, if. Here's the thing. I don't think. I said like you get the excuse that Micah is not available to start the season, but man, like let's say it's bad, bad.
Like what if they're a three, four win team? I don't think it's going to be that bad. You just said nine wins. Then I think there's a chance that you have to replace Lafleur this year. Can I tell you something?
You can't allow him to be a lame duck after a three or four win season. It was never bad that bad for McCarthy. Go on. I was thinking something last night. For some reason, I saw it.
Must have been like on this day. I saw Rogers throw a touchdown to Jordy Nelson in 2012. What, like? And I was thinking about all those Sundays where we just took for granted. I didn't.
Aaron Rodgers.
Now I'm still I'm not looking back fondly on the post Super Bowl run because they went a long time without getting back to the Super Bowl, even with Aaron Rodgers MVP years. But there were Sundays where you were playing the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and you didn't feel that great about your team. Maybe, but you knew the Packers were still going to score 31 points. Yep.
What in God's name, and you know what I need. You know what I need out of this game because Jordan Love did an interview where he wasn't. He didn't just. He wasn't like cunning or anything, but he didn't give the classic. Yeah, things are gonna be fine.
He's just like, I can't control who's here. Basically, is what he said. I need Jordan Love to become an asshole.
So my mom said to me the other day, she's like, "I miss when, but nobody liked it when Aaron was an asshole." Yeah, but I need Jordan Love to be an asshole, because Aaron Rodgers was an asshole when things were going well. Things were going well, and he still found reasons to be an asshole. Things are not going well, so Jordan, you can't just sit there and take it, my friend. You gotta demand better. You can't just be like these boomers of the '70s and '80s and just let the Packers be bad for 20 years because you're a pussy generation, right?
I stand by that take. You really think they're gonna cover? I mean, I guess this is like the perfect buy low spot, but at the same time, how are you supposed to tell me I got these boomers mad at me because I'm calling them out? You're supposed to tell. Look, you were the generation that had 40 years in the same company.
And you worked your whole life just for a watch. When you retired. And you got your little Christmas bonus to keep you happy. Where was your drive? Where was your motivation?
Where were you trying to get promoted? Why weren't you trying to be the CEO? Why weren't you out there hustling, getting side gigs, and doing side quests? Our generation, we have to get a job and then deliver burritos after work on the way home, just to fucking scrape. You guys had anything handed to you and just got complacent.
How am I not supposed to think you were like that with your football team?
So don't give me this crap. All right, I got Tampa. You got Green Bay.
Next game. The only guy that ever showed any fight was Clark Griswold, and that's after he got Jelly of the Month. That's true. That is true. It's almost it's almost Christmas vacation time too.
We're here in October. Home alone. In fact, actually, oh, today that reminds me, I have to begin my streak of thirty one straight. Horror films, scary movie every night, dude. Spooky season.
We'll start with Hocus Pocus. Yeah. Hey, I got the scary movie on Sunday covered for you. By the way, Horvat, if you want a scary movie on Sunday, I got it covered for you. Packers Buccaneers.
Ow. The next contest takes us out to. Baltimore, Maryland, at the beautiful M&T Bank Stadium, where the Ravens are laying 11 and a half points against the Tennessee Titans. Total in the game is 42 and a half. Let me start by saying one thing: I feel really good about my preseason predictions.
Minus one, the Tennessee Titans over six and a half wins. I apologize for Cam Ward. I don't think he could start in the USFL, the XFL, the Canadian League. Turns out he's bullcrap. Even with Brian Dayball, who turns out is also bullcrap.
Tennessee's defense not much better. You got a pissed off Baltimore team because you know they won last week against the Cowboys, but they should probably be three and zero when they're sitting there at two and one. They're at home. I think even if it's a backdoor situation, though, Titans theory comes into play here. Everybody thinks they're the worst team in the league.
They might be, but 11 and a half is a big number. Too much pride on that field for the Tennessee Titans. They cover. They don't win, but they cover the 11 and a half against the Ravens. Give me Tennessee.
You got that spare tire on you, huh? Do you? Do you? Are you going to the mall later on today? You know what I.
You know what. Here's a little radio thing. I was told this long ago, and I buy into it. But like nobody ever else was told it. You're not supposed to say, "Hey, if you're looking for something to do this weekend," because that's giving the person a choice to say no.
You're supposed to say, "Hey, the." Duck and fuck festivals this weekend. Come on down. We're banging mallards. Ben? No, not that.
Not mallard. Oh, mallards. Tennessee is a eleven and a half point dog. You think they can cover that big number against the Ravens? You know, I'm so pissed at myself.
I thought to myself, Bart. I thought to myself, if I ever get a job with Odyssey again, I need to put in the contract that you're going to pay me out if I get laid off again. That'd be a good move after three. But why didn't I do that the last time? I don't know.
You need an agent, probably. You need an Ari Gold in your life. Who did I take in this game? Oh, you haven't. Is Lamar questionable?
He's questionable. He's going to play. The only question is how many touchdowns are they going to beat them by? Where the hell did you get that? Blake Corum was hurt, by the way.
Why are you putting things in my head? I swear to God, I saw something. Do you ever have dreams and then think that they're reality? Every night. Are you losing touch of reality?
I don't think that this is real. You and I speaking here? Yeah, you kept saying the F word at the beginning, and you cost us money. If you woke up and you were 15 again, and your whole life was actually a dream, yeah, I wish I would be a firefighter. Everything I would do the same, but I'd be a firefighter.
I would either be a firefighter or a city planner. I don't know that you would make it as a firefighter. I would. I'm just kidding. I don't want to be a fire for the life saving.
I want to be it for the 24 hours of hanging out with my bros and not having to go anywhere. You'd be like the bad guy in Backdraft. You'd be the one starting starting the fires. Yeah, be like things are bored around here. I'm gonna light a garbage can.
Oh, you'd be you'd be John Ax. If Diana Rossini showed up to the firehouse, you'd be Scott Glenn. He's the bad guy. What is it with the Rossini? I like the Ravens.
You should see if you could get her. You know, I got an idea on how we on on on how we take into the Winkler verse into the next verse. We get Rusini, Rusini. Maybe I start producing again, or Toby, one of the good ones.
Sorry, Tim. And we we try to get a one on one. Her first one on one since the whole thing. And it's with you. It's a sit-down interview where she gets to clear the air, tell her side of the story with Bart Winkler into the Winklerverse.
What do you think? A lot of a lot of right now. I got the NFL blue book still from Joe and Zola. I think I got the blue book too. You know what we do is a lot of a lot of people now do podcast with a gimmick, like Jerry Seinfeld's comedians and cars getting coffee.
Um, I just saw Jake Tapper fake fly fishing with Gavin Newsom a couple weeks ago. I'm gonna do one where I I talk to a guest, but we play strip poker with Diana Rossini. Jesus! But the gimmick is I always lose. Like Chris Farley and Billy Madison, and we see, and it could be with men, women, whatever.
We see how long the whole thing is. We see it's like hot wings, but we see how long they stay in the room. Like, do they stay in the room to see my wang, or do they leave before I take out my dick? Remember when you were mad about me saying the F word about the Cubs? Who wins and covers the game?
The Ravens are eleven and a half point favorites. There is no reason that Ravens Titans should take this long. Ravens by two tuddies. Hughes. Oh, I can't wait for this game.
The Texans are zero and three, even though everybody loved them to win the Super Bowl. I do think that they're going to beat the Cowboys in cover. I like the Texans here. Dallas is one and two. This should be a loser leaves Texas match.
I mean, it's a huge game. It kind of is. It's like a Texas death match, literally. I love Dak. I love that offense.
I just man, Houston at home desperation spot. They got to win this game by a field goal. It opened at two and a half. Poto has three. I'm not betting this one, but if I were to, I would take the Texans.
If there's anyone I would ever trust my money to, it's Brian Schottenheimer. I like the Cowboys to win. Yeah. Plus three. All right.
Uh, we got the Giants two and a half point dogs. We got Arizona two and a half point favorites. Obviously, I'm just looking at the line movement. Where is this CJ Stroud contract extension year? Um, no, he already signed, didn't he?
Did he get his? Did he pick up his option? God, I can't remember. He's bad though. I still on the Bryce Young's better than CJ train.
Doesn't he lead the league in like passing yards right now, Bryce Young? I don't think that's that hot of a take anymore. I lead the league in. Pictures of Diana Rossini in my deleted folder on my. See, here is one where back in the day I would take the Giants here because the opener with Jackson Dart as the starter would have been the Giants as a seven-point favorite.
Now they're a two and a half. You know my nickname for Diana Rossini is Duck Duck Go Browser. You know what? I got to, dude. My the numbers I got to do it.
I'll pick the Giants. I'm not going to bet the game. Give me the Giants at two and a half, but what a weird week because people are bringing up all Jameis's old stuff and everybody's like, "Oh, I love Jameis; he's such a wholesome guy." I think people forgot about his Tallahassee days, so I'm worried that that could be a distraction. Everything tells you to take Arizona here, but seven to two and a half, and I'm not even that big of a Jackson Dart guy. I will take the Giants to cover the two and a half and to win the game outright on the money line, the Pottawatomie money line plus one twenty.
James is horrible. He sucks. He's very bad. His personality has earned him these starts. Yeah, but he's not even that great of a person.
He's not a bad person. He stole food once. A lot worse than that. You got to go on the internet today. I'm not even gonna.
I'm done. I'm gonna take the. Cardinals. All right, I'm going to go to the next game, and it is in Seattle. The Seahawks are seven-point favorites.
The total in the game is 42 and a half. The look ahead was Seattle minus three. Jamis's real quote on McCarthy is, "I'm willing to groom." Can't say that. No. Especially, never mind.
Seattle's a seven-point favorite. I'm going to do it for the second consecutive week because their season's on the line, dude. They they were gifted four turnovers and they still not only didn't win the game but they didn't even cover. Herbert is broken. He is just an internet quarterback.
Harbaugh looks washed, but I got to believe they show some fight at zero and three seven-point dogs against Seattle. I'm going to take the Chargers to cover here, maybe even win the game outright. Chargers money line is plus three hundred. Chargers plus seven is the safe way to go, though. I'll take the Chargers to cover.
I'm going to take Seattle to win. Chargers go to zero and four.
Now this is not that hot of a take because they just won the Super Bowl. But McDonald's the kind of coach I want. I think he's the best. Same. That's what I'm saying.
He's the best coach. Over. I like even though he's never won a Super Bowl. I really like Kyle Shanahan. Those teams are broken every year.
That he Mike McDonald's such a good coach. What Mike Tomlin took twelve hours, twelve years to do in Minecraft, McDonald would have got done in three. I kind of like want to be Kyle Shanahan. I think he's one of my role models. I like how big of a dick he is to everybody.
I like how he got in a car crash and had the news shut up about it for a month. I'm too nice. My goal this year is to be meaner. I think to people meaner. Yeah, I want to be meaner.
Like more mean. I think I'm too nice. If you're too nice, then people look at you like you're a pushover. You know, if you're a dick, shows you're an alpha male. My nobody wants to be nobody wants to be Matt Lafleur.
Everybody wants to be. Everybody wants to be Mike Vrabel. Just Land Hog, you know. What do you think about Minnesota? They are ten and a half point favorites over the Dolphins in a game where the total is only thirty eight and a half.
I've bet the Dolphins all three weeks, and guess what? I am going to do for the fourth consecutive week. I can't quit them. They're awful. Devin H.
Hands done for the year. They have no talent whatsoever. But I just don't believe that Kyler Murray and the Vikings, even with that defense, are eleven point spitter.
So I am going to take the Dolphins here. Not a great breakdown, but. Shitty team that's got to show well at zero and three, and I like Flores' revenge game. But like, here's the thing, kind of, but like, Tua's not there anymore. That's the real enemy.
That's who cost. I don't care. Tua was—I bet Tua at Arrowhead is a four and a half point dog when Miami went to Kansas City a couple years ago, and I'm like, they're going to run the ball. Not only did they not run the ball, but Tua did not cover the four and a half. He was terrible.
I think Flores deserves another chance with the Green Bay Packers. Pick a number one through ten, eight. Multiply by three, twenty-four.
Okay, Vikings by twenty-four. No, no, yep.
Okay, Skull, San Francisco. The Niners are two and a half point favorites over the Broncos. Broncos coming off that win where they're down sixteen nothing, they miraculously come back to win. Total forty seven and a half. Every time I look, a new Niner is dead or hurt or injured, and I don't care.
They're two and a half point favorites because Brock Purdy is going to be the MVP of the league. McCaffrey's not going anywhere, and I just got done saying it. I think this could finally be the year for Shanny. Even if everybody continues to die, they just continue to win. They're three and zero.
I like Purdy a lot. Turns out he's not just a game manager. He pushes the ball down the field. I love the Niners here against the Broncos. I think they win this game by seven.
Bo Nix sucks. Sean Payton sucks. Yeah. I mean, I don't think he sucks. The spread is seven, or you like them by seven?
No, it's two and a half. I think they win the game by a touchdown. Man, maybe a field goal. I like San Francisco to cover the number, though. It's in San Fran.
In San Fran, Broncos coming off that crazy win. Why did they build a new stadium, and then why didn't they build it closer to San Francisco? And they built a stadium that's so close to this airport that there's no shade there. Yeah, I don't know. You'd have to ask them.
I'm worried about why my team can't just find a tackle, make a block. I heard we signed Guy McIntyre this morning. Oh yeah, yeah. Is that Joey's brother? Um, he was my.
I heard we signed Nate Newton. I wish Guy loved cocaine. Willie Rolfe is Willie Rolfe alive? I don't think so. I'm just thinking of 90s.
Lineman whose cards I kept. Anthony Munoz was a big one for the Bengals. I don't even. Oh yeah, yeah, yeah. What about Kyle Turley?
Were you a big Kyle Turley fan? I was not a Kyle Turley guy. I think he like played the guitar too. Let me do this real quick, real quick game, real quick game. I'm gonna give you a team.
You tell me the first offensive lineman that comes to your head.
Okay. The Miami Dolphins. Laramie Tunzel. Me too. Yeah.
Okay, ready. I'm gonna go with the New York Giants. Ah man. Who's the guy that missed the snap against the Niners? Andrew Thomas, no, but I go.
I would go with Bart Oates. Bart Oates, okay. I'll go Andrew Thomas because he's the tackle right now. I can't think of any former Giant offensive lineman. That's terrible.
Denver Broncos. I can't think of one. Yeah, you can. You got to think of the year that they beat us. He's on TV.
Stink. Oh Schlereth, yeah, and you could think of like, you know, this year's. I can name all five of their starters this year: Garret Bolles, Ben Powers, Seattle Seahawks. Seahawks, ah, who was that one guy that was there forever? This game's hard.
It really is. Ah, Jesus, Walter Jones. He was there forever. He's a Hall of Famer, left tackle. Um, one more.
Steve Hutchinson. Yeah, that was it.
Okay, this is hard. I know. Chiefs. Oh, I can't think of one. Hold on.
Yeah, you can. Um, um, this game's hard as shit. Will Shields. Willie Rolfe. Didn't you just say?
I said Willie Rolfe. He played for them, and then Joe Alt. I'm gonna text him.
Next time we do, take me out to the Paul game. We need to do offensive lineman. It'll shave the episode in half. Green Bay Packers, Brian Belan, Adrian Clem. It's a good one.
All right. All right. Let's just rip through these. We're done. Let's just rip through them.
All right. So I got San Francisco. You didn't pick the game. Niners Broncos. Niners.
Vegas Raiders are three zero and they're four and a half point dogs against the Chiefs. They take a little bit of money because the open was five and a half. Totals forty seven and a half. I'm going to take the Raiders to cover here, man. I think the Chiefs probably win this game to move to four and zero.
Mahomes is on a mission. I know, but Turns out the Raiders are a lot better than we all projected. Also, should Atlanta just have kept Kirk Cousins and never did the Penix BS? I mean, I know he didn't look good last. Minnesota should have kept Kirk Cousins.
Yeah, I mean, I think the Raiders cover here. They might win this game outright. They might just keep winning. The Redskins should have kept Kirk Cousins. Yeah.
Michigan State should have kept Kirk Cousins. It's still so crazy that they drafted Rg three and Cousins the same year. I know. Imagine if that's like something Goot would do. You draft Rg three.
You know what's funny about Rg three? Whenever he calls a game on TV, like a college game, I never know it's him. Yeah, and then I'm like, I don't recognize this voice, and it's like it's RG three. Oh, and then the next week he'll be calling a game. I'll be like, I've never heard this guy.
It's RG three again. What the hell? I maybe because he's he's code switching. The broadcasters, like, I don't know, man. It's just not the way that it used to be.
I do nothing is nothing is except for this. I do find it hilarious, like how like certain guys now get away with just like going against the FCC. Saban's saying shit on the air. McAfee does whatever he wants, and then yeah, like some of these guys are just able. Like Brady said, "Piss missile" like three times last week.
I think it's hilarious how like every time I'm. In the moment, I just think of Diana Rossini. They show an injury, and Brady goes, "Oh shit!" It's like somebody at the bar. He wants to play again. I love him.
I know he's weird. I don't care. Dude rules. All right, I'm going Raiders to cover the four and a half. What about you?
Yeah. You like the Raiders too? Yes. Sunday night, man. It's been a long time since we had a Sunday night game in Carolina.
The Panthers are three and a half point dogs against the Lions. Totals fifty-one. I got to go Detroit here. The number, like, it seems like a tricky spot. I think Detroit.
I don't like when cat teams play each other. Same with birds. I don't mind if the Eagles exist, but I don't want them playing the Ravens. I don't like the Lions playing the Panthers. What?
I like. I actually originally thought about betting Carolina in this game. You know, in Charlotte, you can't drink after two o'clock. Like the bars close for the afternoon games. I think Gibbs is going to rush for like 200 yards in this game against this Carolina run defense.
Let's not forget that a couple weeks ago they allowed the Bears to hang like 60 on them.
Now you got. I was going to take Carolina, but I think taking Lions. Lions team total maybe. The total in the game is 51. What's their team?
I think they score at least 28. What's their team? All I care about Sunday night is the season finale of Lanterns. I'm going to take the Lions big. What the hell is Lanterns?
Kyle Chandler's in it. It's a DC show. I called it Detroit's twenty. I'm going to take here's a bet Lions first half team total over thirteen and a half minus one thirty at Pato. There you go.
They score at least fourteen in the first half. They get in the end zone twice. I think Gibbs scores. Obviously, he's like minus three fifty. Carolina can't stop the run.
Saints two and a half point favorites. They let me down last week. They couldn't beat the fricking Raiders.
Now they get Atlanta. Total in the game forty seven and a half. I feel like everybody's going to bet Atlanta because Penix looked really good last time we saw him in prime time against the Packers defense. And Bijan just ran for another touchdown while we do this podcast. But I think the Saints bounce back.
It's still a tough place to play. They played like. Crap last week and turned the ball over. I still like Shuck, and I think the Saints have a legit chance to win the division.
So I'll take them. Anything under three, I like the Saints two and a half against Atlanta. Who's a better Gibbs in prime time, Jameer Gibbs for the Lions or Leroy Jethro Gibbs from NCIS? Jameer Gibbs. He's arguably the best at his position.
He's minus three fifty to score a touchdown every week.
Okay, and I I don't know who the other guy is. No, he's from NCIS. Mark Harmon. I had the I had the chat open, and somebody asked for my lock of the week. NFL is tough.
I'm gonna go the Bengals as two and a half point favorites. College, I like South Carolina. Anything under three against Kentucky. I think Lenora Sellers bounces back. I took the money line though minus one fifty on South Carolina, but I do like two and a half.
I don't love. I'll give you a college pick. Give me one. This is a tough week. I don't have.
I only got like, I only got six bets. Um, I by the way like the Saints. I got South Carolina, Arizona in college football, laying six and a half against Cincy. Jets covering three and a half against the Bears. Patriots covering six and a half against Buffalo.
Cincy beating the Jags by at least a field goal. I took the money line, but I still like the two and a half. And then Chargers plus seven. That's all six of my bets for the week. Light week had like thirty last week.
What is the line in the? Ohio State Iowa game. Yeah, that's the one I wanted to bet, but I got to the party late. I wanted Ohio State at thirteen and a half or fourteen. It's fourteen and a half now.
I still think they probably win the game by seventeen, especially because Iowa's coming off that win against Michigan that they had to pull out of their ass. But I think Ohio State's going to take them to Pound Town. I also think that Jeremiah Smith is going to be the Heisman. We haven't. Oh yeah.
He's so good. I would probably just take him number one overall. Turns out that all these quarterbacks for the second consecutive year that we hyped up suck. What's the line in the Florida Missouri game? Just so you could get five if you want to take Florida, but it's you could get six if you want Missouri.
I like Florida. See, everybody's going to expect this to be a letdown spot. I don't know that that's going to be there this year. I love that hire. I love their coaching staff, and I really like that Florida team.
I was all over that one last week. I said they're going to run the ball down their throats, dude, and that's what they did. And the RPO stuff looked really good too. I'd like, you know, what I'm thinking? Like, I think Miami is going to go into Clemson and bolt race them.
I don't. I got. Oh, I bet Clemson too. I didn't track that one. I got Clemson plus seventeen and a half.
I think Bam is going to go into Mississippi State and bolt race them. Ooh, I don't know. I kind of like Mississippi State, but I couldn't get there. Their quarterback is going to go to Missouri and bolt race them. I could see that just because I I don't think John Sumnerall has a let up spot in him.
I just think that Camario, I think that Taylor is the best, like one of the best quarterbacks in the country. I hate that they're undefeated and we're already talking about where he goes next. That's why college football is broken. Like, what if they run the table this year? Six points seems like too many, but I feel like because he's been on fire and Mississippi State's undefeated, people are like they're kind of begging you to take the six, right?
So you might be right, and Bama's good, and Keelan Russell's awesome. I'm enjoying college a lot more than the pros this year. I'm just enjoying both. If they go to 24 games though for the playoffs, that sucks. Yeah, I don't want that.
Too much. Too much can be a good thing unless it's Diana Rossini. More about it. Tough week. See you.
Tough week. Yeah, great to see you. That's why we're here. Tough week. We'll be back next week.
What else you got going on this weekend? I'm gonna watch football, and that's about it. No baseball for me. I'll be cheering for you guys. I say you, you guys beat the Padres, and uh.
Post game show. I think what we're gonna do is a no show. I might do a show tomorrow. Depends if anything's. Brewers in five, by the way.
Yeah, but I will do post game shows for every playoff game. Every single one. What if the game ends at four a.m.? Then then I'll then I'll do a post game show at 4 a.m. You think time is going to stop me?
No, I don't. All right, man.
Well, hey, this was fun. Go Packers! Hopefully, beat the box. Forget the weekend. What else you doing today?
The weekend. I like the early stuff. Yeah, decent band. Yeah. Yeah, they got a little.
Not sure they're worth it for a Super Bowl, but yeah, I know, I know. What do you think? Isn't it Jay Z this year? That's what my son told me. I thought they were.
I thought they were hinting at Miley, like to headline the Super Bowl. Does she have enough songs to do that?
Well, just cover Dolly Parton's catalog. I think they should ask Goose. Goose, yeah, they should do the Super Bowl. I think it should be Bruce Springsteen. I think it should be the Psychedelic Porn Crumplets.
You ever heard of them? No, they're good. Maybe Ween. Ween. Nothing would fire me up for the second half of the Super Bowl more than Roses Are Free.
I think it should be the Flaming Lips. Dude, do you realize? That was an awesome album, by the way. Can you? I used to imagine opening the halftime with that.
I used to go to car wash and play that. Yoshimi, they don't believe me. And his evil robot. I've been listening to a lot of the used at the gym lately. Bulimic.
From the way that you acted to the way that I felt it. I'm back in a Silver Sun pickups loop right now. Silver Sun pickups. Yeah. Yeah, I like it.
I like churches. Churches. Yeah, it's a oh the song. No, that's a churches. Never heard of them.
Look them up, but instead of the U, put a V. It's a woman singing, and she's fine. She's no Diana Rossini, but all right, that's my cue. All right, we're out of here. Thanks for playing, and welcome into the wake, everybody.
