Give. Everybody, welcome into the Winklerverse. I'm Bart Winkler. Great to be with you on this Friday, September 18th, as we've got a big weekend coming up here. We are going to find out if the Packers season is going to be just like all the other seasons.
Okay, they're not that good, but they can win enough games. They can win the win of all games. They'll beat the Jets. Or we're going to find out if they start 0-2. And if things are going to get really chaotic, and I don't root for that scenario, I don't root for the Packers to be 0-2.
I can certainly see the Packers losing, there's no question about it. I can see the Packers losing. I think a lot of us can see it, but I can visualize it. I can see Matt LaFleur on the sidelines being confused. I can see it could be some bad weather.
I can see, you know, Jordan Love throws one, bounces off Marshawn Lloyd's hands into a Jets defender for a pick six, and suddenly Jordan Love's the worst quarterback to ever exist. Even though it wasn't his fault. They'll still blame it on him. Jordan Love. Jordan Love.
Throws a lot of balls that get tipped and then picked. I don't think those should count unless you really want to dissect, like, well, if he would have thrown it just a centimeter up, it would have been on the, you know, the thing or whatever, or you should have been there. Um That is something that is That is something that is is not is not what I am What I am looking for. It is into the Winklerverse. I'm Bart Winkler.
Great to be with you. I will throw the link out as we do on Fridays. If you want to join, you can. Marcus has an idea for the Friday show. I'll get to that with some voicemails.
I want to talk about the Brewers and the Kyle Harrison problem, and we'll talk about whatever else comes up. In this hour. Um There was a crash near my house last night, a bike crash. There was a bike crash near my house last night and I said, well, first I hope everyone's okay. Everyone's up and and good, but uh I thought that at least in my community, everyone would be plugged into the Winklerverse because had they been listening, they would know that crashes involving drivers and vulnerable users of the road are the highest during These Months, these weeks, this time of the year.
As you know, I've teamed up with the Wisconsin Bike Fed to talk about these different problems that bikers face on the road, as well as the drivers. This is these communities, because I was talking about this with somebody because we were at a baseball thing and there was a crash, and he's like, Did you see it? I'm like, I did not. And he told me about it, and it didn't sound good, but it was a car that hit a biker. There was a car that hit a biker.
Everybody seems to be up and good. But it was it was you know A bad night for some people.
So if you're on the bike, You know, you're dri you're you're biking on roads. that were not designed for you typically. They were designed for cars. In fact, The whole world was designed for cars. At least America.
We love cars. Um I want to know. There's like different points in history I'd like to go back to. And if like Because, do you ever look at these pictures of these old cities? They're beautiful.
And they all look like Europe. And then we invented cars, and people are running out to the suburbs in 1915 already. They're held in Vigilite. candles for the Titanic and Wakashaw already. Back then.
Move back to the city, man.
Well, you can, not if you want to ride a bike.
So be careful. And everybody is okay, but that's not good. We don't want more of that. Check out WisconsinBikeFed.org. MDK says, I used to ride my bike.
On the sidewalks, like a normal human. Bikers these days.
Well, that's not the message we're sending. What's the shirt, Robert? It's Packer's Tech Mobile Guy. It's the tech mobile guy, see? Just techmo packers.
When I go on these road trips. For these Packer games. I like to wear Packer stuff, but I don't like to be obnoxiously like Packers. One It's not my style. Uh two is Yeah, I'm kind of a little womp.
A womp. I'm a womp. I'm a wuss. I'm kind of a little, I'm kind of a little, I don't want to get in a fight.
So if I can You know. Ditch of clothing, or I'll wear like A Lambo Leap hat or something like Packers, but it doesn't say Packers. You know? Brandon notes that my hat brim, the Winkler verse hat, which you can get on the fourth wall. website that I have, link below.
Brimso flat, pretty close to entering reverse curve territory. This one, I do notice, is. And I want to mention the flat brims just for. And really everybody that shits on me for it, probably none of them are going to be here. or listen but That has been interesting.
The feedback that I get, it's always interesting where it goes. And for a long time, it's always like: how can you have this opinion? Your name is Bart. Don't quite understand that one. People making fun of my looks.
I don't think I'm a good-looking guy. I don't think I'm. necessarily ugly Um I'm not like so ugly that you'd be like mortified to see me on a TV screen.
Some of these people think so. And now the thing that's bugging people is the flat brim. I accidentally got into the flat brim game. I like it though. It's what I, it's, I like, I like, I like it better than the curved, and I certainly like it better than this.
Is this what you want? Is this this six head? I'm up to a six head. I am up to a six head. You know, maybe we're going to do a watch party.
Let's do this. Let's do this. I don't really like the whole watch party thing. I like to talk after the game. I like to watch the games, you know, pacing and.
Pounding chips to calm my nerves like a normal person. But maybe if we do a watch party. I'll just project the screen and the game on my forehead. You can already see the shining light from the ring light. You can already see that.
Yeah, so. That's bad. Actually, at soccer practice the other day, one of the kids goes, Why do you wear a hat? And I took off my hat and I showed him the bulge spot. Back there.
And they're like Like the kids were mortified. Thank you. Greg says a very attractive six head. Hashtag stunning.
Okay. Flat brim goes hard. No stickers, though. That's right. Anytime I had a sticker under here, it was not intentional.
It was not intentional. Let's talk about the Brewers first. Um if we can They might have a little bit of an issue here. With the pitching rotation, they did lose yesterday to the Pirates, and we are scoreboard watching with the Los Angeles Dodgers.
So, as the standings sit right now, the Brewers do still have the best record in all of baseball. Buy a handful of games. But the team we have to Look towards isn't the Rays, of course. It would be the Los Angeles Dodgers. Brewers come into this weekend's action 95 and 58, and the Dodgers sit 93 and 60.
That is a perfect two games back. Of the Brewers. The Brewers have the Orioles. this weekend. While the Dodgers Are in action against the Giants.
Dodgers at home. Against the Giants. Brewers are in action this weekend for a set. against Baltimore.
So Baltimore, you know, not great. Kind of hovering three games under 500. But in the American league. They're only three back of the wild card.
So, you know, typically if you're playing a 75, 78 team at this time of the year. You know, they're kind of looking towards next year, and most likely Baltimore is, but that American league. Is very jumbled that I don't think. I mean, if Baltimore sweeps the series, they're 78 and 78. And who knows what's going to happen with the Guardians this weekend, the Rangers, the Blue Jays.
Most of these teams under 500. I think if you're the Mariners and Twins and Tigers, you're about six games back, nine games under, you're probably. I mean, you're probably done, but it doesn't look great. Um In that American league.
Some of these national league teams are looking over at the American League and being like, what the hell is going on? And fans. in the American League are already like. complaining About what the playoffs are going to look like because you're going to have your best teams. You're going to have your best teams.
In one side of the bracket. If you look at how the bracket would be if the playoffs ended today. This bottom half of the bracket has the raise. As the number one seed, and the Rays have the best record in baseball. And then you have the Yankees and the Red Sox, who would end up as the wildcard teams.
The Yankees and the Red Sox. Yankees have 88 wins. Red Sox have 83. And they are better. Then pretty much everybody else in the American League.
They have the top three records in the American League. The top three records in the American League are in the American League East.
So You could, you know, you're going to be the wildcard teams, but then you're going to have the winner of the NL Central right now would be the White Sox at 78 and 75, tie with the Guardians. And the leader in the West is the Astros. At 77 and 76.
So you've got, I mean, the Oreo, they're all writing the same kind of record here.
So Socks could get a buy. But, you know, we'll play it out. It'll be fine. But yeah, the best records are happening. And I don't want here's okay.
I don't want there to be a thing now. Where we're like. Gotta make a change, because one time one thing happened. Like when a team from the NFC South goes. eight nine and you want to Change everything about the playoff structure because, God forbid, this happened one time.
You have divisions that are four, you have divisions that are five. That's going to happen. I would like to see if there's some realignment to go to like 8888. If you're going to add Portland, Nashville, whatever. have big divisions rather than littler divisions.
I think that would make more sense. Then you'll have a true pennant race. It's hard to have a pennant race when you guys are all around 500. But the Brewers would be the one seed. We'd take on the winner of Cubs, Phillies.
And then the Dodgers would have the two. The Braves, where are the Braves, you ask? 89 and 64.
So back a few games, but really, it looks like it's between the. Brewers and the Dodgers. Craig is joining us. Craig. How are you today?
Good, how are you? Good. Hey, but what can you change though about because But Astros has such a shitty record. I mean, the whole American either reseeding or don't let divisions count or something stupid. But I mean, this year, though, honestly, The American League, outside of the American League Western, you, I mean.
As long as the As long as the Red Sox and the Yankees get in, there's nobody else in the American League who has an argument to be able to like.
Well, why should the Houston Rockets or Ration the Houston Astros get in when our team didn't because everybody else is almost sub-500 in the American League. Yeah, so then the problem is the Red Sox and Yankees have to play each other. And they're going to play the Rays. Instead of the White Sox or, you know, whoever. Guardians.
And so that's unfair.
So they might want to reseed, like in the NFL. I actually don't. I don't like the reseeding thing. It's very confusing, and you can't fill out a good bracket. I don't like the reseeding.
I don't need it. You're in the playoffs, you're in the if you're in the playoffs. Bracket it out. I don't need to reseed, it's too complicated. For me.
But I actually called to talk about the Brewers' pitching staff because it is very worrisome. Yeah, so we have a Kyle Harrison problem, I think. Kyle Harrison starting yesterday, not getting out of the second inning. The official line is four hits, but five runs, four earned. His ERA is up to four to five.
If we look at his game log. It's bad. His last, what, 21 runs in the last three games? Yeah, well, his month. Oh, yeah, let's add that because he did.
He did. Getting no, he's yeah, he's been terrible. I was looking at a start back in Seattle. He started that 22-0 game. Then he started the Mets game and was fine.
Then against the Cobs, three and a Three and two-thirds gave up nine. Against the Reds, three and two thirds gave up. Four against the Reds again. He didn't record an out. That was the relief appearance.
That was bad. And then back as a starter, doesn't get out of the second.
So he is probably Dom Catronio. Who does the prep stuff and the help with the TV? And he's got the radio show on TMJ. He flat out said last night that he doesn't think Kyle Harrison is going to be on this roster.
So, if that's the case, this guy who was this big centerpiece of the Caleb Durbin deal, and Caleb has been raking over in Boston, the trades helped out both teams, although now. It's helping us less because Kyle Harrison. You're not looking tired? Mitch says Harrison's a young guy who hit the wall and he only has two pitches. And I, you know, it's the kind of thing like back in the beginning of the season, they're talking about how he doesn't have the, when you compare him to Miz, like, He doesn't have the speed, but he can place his pitches so well.
If you don't have that. You know, once you lose that, if you're not a finesse guy, but if you're topping out at. Mid-90s. Um You got to be more precise. And if you lose that, you're screwed.
Charles says. Harrison is actually why I hate baseball. Like guys can be good all year and then suddenly are trash. Like, what the fuck do you do with that? Yeah, yeah.
Well, yeah, it's a long season. If baseball would someday go to my Just play a 17-game schedule like the NFL, you'd never have problems like this. Greg says the broadcast was also saying. His mechanics are different since he came back from injury.
So we've got Ms. Right? Um I I don't know what we're gonna do at the three spot. I mean, I don't. I think Brian.
Like Dustin May, I don't think anybody trusts Dustin May. See, I trust him. I just think that he, like, I just think he's he hasn't His first outing, I kind of figured that wasn't what was going to happen because he was all excited. New team, and he was going to over try, and he wasn't going to pitch right. And then, you know, like his third, what was it, his third one, his third start, he got.
doing by that pitch right away. And then he sat because he only had, you had like one pitch, he got hit, and then he was done. Then the next game out, I think it was the rain out in. Where was it? Where was the right now?
Philly was it Philly where or? Where like didn't restart back up till almost 1 a.m. It was a Saturday. They had the night game he started, then it rained out, then it got back like real late. I think you came back on for that one.
But it wasn't like a Well, I think you came on av like you you like popped on the internet right after that game'cause it was so late. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah. And so it wasn't until his last start and his last start he looked pretty good.
So I I do feel like he's going to be all right. You know, after I heard Priester wasn't going to be pitching this year, I thought we were going to have problems all. season with our pitching staff.
Well, even still like. There's been injuries that our pitching staff feels like we always. It always falls apart in September. Yeah. And there's been like.
There's been Injuries for the most part as to why that's happening.
Now, this time it's just Kyle Harrison's, he got bad.
So we're still going to go in. Having to patchwork. A rotation again, which has been the problem, which you can get through in a five-game series. but you probably can't in a seven.
So that's why it's almost imperative. Like it's almost a need. If this team is going to win a World Series, We need Brandon Woodruff to come back. And also If Brandon Woodruff actually is able to come back, then we're going to win the World Series. I mean, that's such a great storyline thing.
But we need them to and we're not going to do it. Without him, I don't know what he needs to give us, but I'd love to see him there. May, I feel like, is going to be. Like drawan or Gasser, whoever you want to put in the three, may will pitch in the postseason. I'm feeling like he's the...
Randy Wolfe, Wade Miley, like If you want six innings, maybe three, four earned runs in a playoff game. May we'll get you that. But if you're gonna need to win a playoff game 2-1, You know, you need what Kyle Harrison was doing and he's not doing that anymore.
So it's a problem, Craig.
Sorry. Yeah. Could always bring up Sproat and just let him fucking pepper. Sproat, he walked off the plane too.
Okay. It's not a good time for this pitching staff. No, well, it happened last year, too, though. And I don't know how they change the only way. See, the only way you really change this.
Well, maybe one. But this is where. I said the Dodgers last year. I said that was the biggest discrepancy. Of What the salary cap does.
Because yes, the Brewers can assemble a team. That might win 100 games. The Brewers in this market can assemble a team that could be the number one seed. But then you get to the playoffs. And last year.
We were facing guys in the postseason. That had rested like the whole year. Like Blake Snell had not pitched. They work back show hey. We're not facing the Emmett Sheehans and These other guys that they had earlier in the season, Robaleski.
They're able to like Have an eight-man, nine-man true pitching rotation. They just don't need. All these guys are going to use in the playoffs the rest of the season.
So, if they're hurt, whatever, we can patch innings. We can't. The first thing, and I brought this up, I think, the other day, when Corey can able. wasn't going to be Able to be afforded by the Brewers. He ended up signing right away with the Dodgers.
Just some one-year-old. four and a half million dollar deal that at the time the bro four and a half million was Reach for the stars for Milwaukee and the Dodgers, they barely even used them. They're just like, well, if he rehabs, you know, it's a $400 million gamble. That's where the dot, that's where the money comes in: is you can just pay to patchwork your problems. The Brewers got to hope that a guy who we thought had a career-ending injury three months ago is suddenly going to find.
the fountain of youth or whatever. Find us what? 14 innings. Yeah. Right.
And then just watch his arm fall off as he's like picking up the World Series trophy. Yeah. So, on one hand, we have a team that has 95 wins. Um with a couple weeks to go. And on one hand, you're like watching, you know, the race is over.
We're in the playoffs, the division race is over early again.
So now we're kind of like getting hyped up for. this uh race with the Dodgers, but it feels a little manufactured'cause We want home feel, but at the end of the day. We're not as aggressively rooting for it like we're rooting to win the central. But we're feeling good and feeling like, okay, I'm ready for the playoffs. In the meantime, We might come into the postseason with the weakest staff in the National League.
Even with having the presumptive Cy Young on the squad. Yeah. Good breakdown. Yeah. That's not your role.
I just Well no, but I don't I mean there's nothing I I don't disagree with anything you just said so there's like I don't have like I can I could. Add on, but I mean, I don't disagree with you. You're completely right. Like, I was just watching. That's what I was hoping to hear, is actually that.
Thank you. Right. Because I mean, I was just watching, like, I just saw something about the Dodgers the other day, and I looked and. Like even now, I mean Even with Shohei supposedly on the bench. Like they could walk into the playoffs and they could win the World Series without even having Shelly pitch.
They have so much they have so much pitching on that staff already. Yeah, like if we had Shohei Otani. And then He wasn't going to pitch for us in the postseason. We would we would like just be like, oh, we're s screwed. And the Dodgers is like, oh yeah, Shoe, he might not pitch.
Just like a bl like, that's a big part of Shohei. Oh, he might not pitch. Oh, he might not pitch. So, I don't know. Yeah, Cubs pitching staff.
You know, that's not great either, I guess. Yeah. But I'm going to watch every game and enjoy it because we're not going to have it next year. Right. It does seem that way.
Craig, I'm going to let you go. Play some voicemails. All right, we'll talk to you later. We'll catch you on the Sunday afternoon. Yeah, I'll be here.
We'll be talking about one way or another. Craig Thompson joining us. Hey, Ryan Reynolds here for Mint Mobile. Are you looking for a beach read this summer? May I suggest your big wireless bill.

Of course, we've got a lot of people helping out right now in the Winkler versus 10, so do support them. If you can. The easiest one, maybe, to support is the Wisconsin Bike Fed, as I talked about, because just don't hit anybody. Just just don't hit anybody on the road. Turn your lights on when you're driving.
Very. Very easy. MDK says Henry Winkler needs to be a Winkler verse guest. That is one of the dreams. I've never actually worked on it though, so I could.
I could change my mind there. Jake says: Is it weird that I'm more excited for the Dubverse post-game shows? Than I am Packer Games itself. Creeping towards cheering for a loss this week just for the content. Let's say the Packers do lose.
Let's say the Packers do lose, and it's because of Matt LaFleur again, or Matt LaFleur. I can't stop playing with these. Chips that I got from the drive. My boy Dan. You know, when you're playing poker, you always got the chips.
Remember that when the poker, when the World Series of poker, Took off. The biggest change I noticed. Playing with my buddies was people started wearing glasses, which was lame. And then, after that fate ended, everyone had to play with their chips while they're sitting there. Which I always thought was like Cosplay.
I haven't played a game of poker in a while. I'm kind of itching. Kind of itching. Maybe I'll head. Maybe that's the next time I'll head to Pado.
I got to get there. And of course Pato helping us get the seven seven seven.
So I got to get back down there at the sports book. And I gotta do my bucks over under bet. Because I'm feeling really good about the bucks. Getting over 26 and a half wins. I mean, if they don't.
I'm asking for 27 wins. This is gonna be like They're going to be so fun to watch, and they're going to try so hard. They're just gonna be so bad. But if this Bucks team somehow Oh, I just want them to break expectations. I just I just want that so bad.
I'll get more into the Packers unless uh Hello. Tim Shay is anything brewer related. What's up, Timmy? How's it going? Good.
Just hanging out on a Fryer, as you probably call it. You probably call it that. I did. I did. You work in an office.
If you work in an office, you call it Friday. Yes. I actually thought about getting some sort of office, you know, one of those. I call mingling spaces, but I don't want to drive anywhere anymore because gas is $9 a gallon. That's why I take a scooter.
Oh, you do. You do. From time to time, I'll take a scooter. If there's one in my neighborhood, I'll just hop right on it. Costs five bucks.
Not even four. Costs you a lot more than that, Tim. If you fall, it costs you your dignity. And possible hospital bills. Hospital bills that cost you losing respect from your son?
I still have a scar. I was noticing this yesterday. I have a scar on my foot. I have a scar on my foot that I think is going to be there forever. I could have been a male foot model before this.
I have nice male feet. No, I have a scar. What's his name like that? The old Jets coach. Rex Ryan.
I've sent him pictures.
Okay. Don't want to know what he said in response. Oh, I know that bark wing clear foot if I saw it. Um Anywho. Uh you gonna If I uh you know, purchase some extra playoff tickets.
You want to go with me to a game? I do. I have the I have my magic uh season seed holder code right now so Yeah. I'll send I'll I'll I'll hit you up with it. You can uh Where are your seats?
Well, I sit, I do sit, believe it or not, in the terrace level. Nice easy seats, but I'm in the box you know, the box like terrace box.
So it's the first five rows. They're not bad. I'm right behind home play. You can purchase Lowe's level tickets for the playoff postseason. You don't have to sit with me.
It's probably the most and maybe the only. Like Stuck up thing I do in my entire life. I don't sit in the terrace level. I don't. I don't.
It's not that bad. If I want to sit a little higher. then I'm going in the 300s. All right. And I don't even like sitting up there.
Why? I like being low to the ground. If I'm going to go to the game. I don't want like an angle I can see on TV. I want to be.
On T V. What would be in the action? But you know actually there's You know what pocket of seats are um Like Underrated for how shitty they are? Which ones? When you get out when you're first or third base side.
And you go out, it's past the dugout, and then like it's before it kind of curves into the outfield. Yeah. Because you're kind of watching almost on a tilt. You have to like sit looking at the outfield and then Yeah, those are. I've bought those, and I'm like, we have great seats, you know, dad, or whatever.
And then I go and I'm like, oh, these kind of fucking blow. Yeah, you know. I'm not going to complain. If it comes to a World Series, you're sitting in the terrace, okay? MDK says bleachers.
Bleachers, I like for the playoffs. Yeah, bleachers were fun. I did that for in 2018. During that run, we sat in the bleachers a lot. It was a lot of fun out there.
I was back there in 08. I just remember there was one game. Game two against the Dodgers, and I was like this for half the game because that sun was in my eye. Mm. And that'll probably be the case again because even if we're the one seed, we're gonna get screwed on four o'clock games.
Okay. You're gonna play at noon on a Tuesday. Uh games one and two of the DS are Saturday, Sunday, October third and fourth. Yeah, so I was going to look for those tickets. And then 'Cause I entered the whatever, I looked and it was all four hundreds and I'm like, I'm not doing that.
That's fine, be s be stuck up. My name's Bart Winkler. I don't sit on the terrace. I don't. Why?
It's too high. And I don't like the vibe up there. No, it isn't. It's not high at all. I don't like the vibe of that.
Okay. All right. Watch Woodruff. MC says, watch Woodruff homer off Kershaw from the terrace. It was electric.
People were smashing mini-bat souvenirs off the vents at the top. Loudest sports moment I've ever seen live. That was pretty awesome. Mine was though when Dave Bush struck out the side in all eight. In game three Yeah, I mean I'm not gonna if the only way I can get in To a world.
Yeah, I will sit there. I will sit there. Begrudgingly. Right. I don't like the seats.
They're too high, and I don't like it. It's a different. It's not the same. It's not the same. All right.
Miller Park.
Well, I don't know. I don't know what I was gonna say there. You were going to say every level is different. or something like that. No, the first three levels are one stadium, and the fourth level is a different one.
Just stop. I want the giant inflatable bats back again. Why don't they do that anymore? I remember that. You can get those at the state at your local state fair or county fair.
Thundersticks? No, he's literally talking about those giant bats that you can Thundersticks was awful. Notice how the birds did that one time and one time only. Yeah, why not ever again? Because those things are annoying.
You got people hitting you in the back of your head and Then your friends start hitting you and Also, I don't want to go to a playoff game, I think. Why? Because I'll do what I did last year. That's last year. That's over and done.
This is a new. We erase that. No, but I'll get so ma I'll be so focused on the crowd. Don't. See, that's why you need to go with me.
You're going with the wrong people. I went with my brother. Yeah. You winklers are a little crazy.
Well That's why I'm on my meds. Maybe that's why you need to go with your son. Little Bart. I don't know, I'm getting worried about him. Why is he getting too invested?
What are you doing? Tapping my fingers. When he gets mad, he like That was a punch. Oh. God forbid you.
Take him to a Cubs game. He's like He might do well there. At a Cubs game? Yeah. No, dude, he hates the cops.
That's the point. Dude, it's such nurture over nature. Speaking of the Cubs right now, I looked at their wild card standings. Woo!
So they're going to make the playoffs. Yeah, but they could be the sixth seed. Does that matter? I mean, it matters if we're going to play them or not. If somehow they win.
Could maybe see him in the NLCS. The Cubs and Phillies are both 85 and 68. And the Padres are one game behind both of them. Oh, I would much rather play them in the division route than the NLCS. Are you kidding?
Because that'd be the possibility of more games, A.
Well, it's two three two as well.
So we'd have to yeah. You lose one of those ones at home, and you have to. It's over. I don't trust us at Wrigley. I mean, I know we're like 500 there.
Why can't baseball go back to the 2-2-1-1-1? Travel Well, like I said earlier, with the way these gas prices are, they might just have to have a neutral setting for the entire playoffs. Move it to Texas. They might just all play in Houston again or something. Just have one series.
Hold on, rewind. Did you say you don't trust the brewers at Wrigley Field? No. I do. Not if we have a pitcher whose name you could say.
Uh Jake up. J oh, he'd be fucking done for. If you're a Cubs fan, please You didn't see this. Jacob, 40,000 people chanting Jacob. Yeah.
All right, I'm gonna go. I gotta get back, but I just wanted to pop on and say hello. Talked about maybe going to a bird. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Stop, stop, yeah.
Yeah, all we can do now is be like I know I'll pop on Sunday after the game. We'll see where we are at Storming Lambo. It's supposed to be stormy in New York, right? No, no, no, no, no, no, no. Storming Lambo like on January Well, we're only doing that if they're missing the playoffs.
Correct. Yeah. Week 18's that weekend. Yes. Yeah.
You've got a lot to edit and post today, bud. I know. I know. I'll send you the file when I'm done. Please do.
Thank you. Have a good day. And go, pack, go. Chipper as always. Can you just edit out your entire hit?
Wow. And seen. Bye, buddy. Goodbye. Tim Shea.

Did I I said don't start with Bart? That was what they, yeah, that's how the Bart Star thing went. All right, Marcus. Give you a ring as I'm listening to the Horvot. Thursday show.
And I actually had this idea. A couple weeks ago, after one of your Friday pods, and I just never called in to say it. You were giving the breakdown of your show to Horva with Mondays with Carlos, Tuesdays, and Wednesday is... Again, if there's You're talking about Fridays. And I think Fridays for your show, you can brand this out to be the Friday Vent.

Matt and Bob, powered by Chewy. It's like a morning radio show here, and I got to sit in on one of their shows. It was pretty amazing. God, radio is amazing, but you know. the whole like stopping and like dumping and they have to play songs every now and then I kind of suck so Keep doing that on the podcast.
It's amazing. One of these days, you know, you'll get a studio down there, and it'll feel just like a radio show. The Friday event brought to you by Milwaukee HVAC, powered by Marcus and Austin and bringing the heat from Texas into your Wisconsin winter homes. Have a good day, sir. I mean, I like the idea.
At first, a Friday event is not catchy. It's got to be like a Friday free-for-all. But then with the sponsor sort of thing. I like that. I think we're actually I I look, we got a lot of people supporting the verse.
I'm pumped about it. I want to do right by everybody. I don't want to overload things. You know, we got the drive. with Horvot on Fridays.
We got Pato helping us count to 7-7. Happy Place Hemp and Carl's Place and Dan Shaney. Uh the O G's You got the Wisconsin bike fed. Helping us out. Um I I think at this point If you want to support the podcast.
Just listen. Download, subscribe. If you're not subscribed, please subscribe. And uh Or just send me money. Like if you really want to support the podcast.
Uh send send me money. Robert says, Who needs a studio when you got a basement? The studio might. Change. If I'm if I'm in an That's all I'm saying right now.
There might be Might be up to something there. Bulletin board needs an update ASAP. I'm glad you said something because here's the problem. With the bulletin board, okay? The problem with the bulletin board is.
I wanted to put different magazines behind me. I got to get the soccer thing down. I know that, but I like that I have an American flag behind me because then. Um people don't know. I guess because I have an American flag, I like.
I'm on a certain side. But I wanted, I bought some frames at a garage sale. That I thought these magazines would fit in, but they're a little small. I wanted to hang behind me different sports illustrated. Giannis to represent the Bucs when he won the title.
I was going to go with this Brewer's one, of course. Braun Fielder and T Plush. The high life. This one's. framed in the press box actually, like a bigger version.
And so is the one with Braun Tulo and Uh Longoria. They frame that one up there in the press box. Super Bowl pack on top. I got to have a Packer one.
Well, if you're going to have a Packer one, you got to have some from the 96 run. And I like these two the best: the missing links. That used to be my fantasy team name. Based on this cover. And then, of course, Desmond Howard.
Returning the kick. Most, some of these have the addresses on them from my old house. If anyone wants to check out where I grew up. There is the address. All right.
So, I want to put those behind me. I actually have more from Marcus. On the Carls Place voicemail line. 402-915-BART. 402-915-22.
Seven eight Here's more from Marcus. These are all the same like in the same half hour. I hope these are coming through, you know, calling you from an iPhone 12. That was operating on iOS 17 up till about a week ago. Um You know, looking forward to the Friday event show tomorrow where you just get some stuff off your chest.
And um Talk about how much we wish we had Harbaugh as a coach of our team. Uh Not much else, you know. Just calling to see how you're doing. I don't have a take or opinion, just salty. Marcus Marcus.
Marcus left a voicemail. Thursday at 4.19. With thoughts. And points. And then five minutes later.
He called again. As if either he didn't remember his first voicemail, or someone was like. Hey, you need to call Bart. Even though you have nothing to say, what is this one? There's another one from Marcus.
Ten minutes later. Oh man, Marcus Nawson again. Palo's girl. I used to work there in high school for like two years. He gotta get the Arizona Ranch with jalapenos.
Oh man. I'm gonna have to get that next time on Landis and Ace. worked there for two years in Verona, Wisconsin at that false.
So Uh Crazy poll, but I don't think they'll sponsor the Friday event. You got to get someone with a little deeper pocket. You have a good day, sir. The foul bowls that you mentioned, Marcus, and those are the only three. The Fowlbox that you mentioned is not the one.
I'm talking about the one that was in Shorewood. There is one in the Milwaukee area or the Madison area. I don't Think they were related? I don't know. But that's not the one I was talking about.

Okay, Bill's Lions, I want to talk to or about a little bit. The game last night. Big night for, well, my kid, a little fantasy good, little fantasy bad. He had Josh Allen. Five touchdowns.
Now, this is in my family league, and he didn't have as many points as I thought he did. Because We do four points for passing touchdowns, which is stupid. Stupid. A touchdown is six points. It should be worth.
Six points. That's how I've always done it. Also, he has DJ Moore.
So you got the good with Josh Allen and DJ Moore. Who had a great first week. And as I was helping him set his roster, I was looking at. Maybe Parker Washington and Krasky Merritt, there wasn't like a great option. But We put in DJ Moore because last week he was good, and we like the Josh Allen DJ Moore thing.
That's why I drafted him. I told him it's really fun when you get a touchdown and it counts twice. And we experienced that last week. This week. We did not.
And so he got Josh Allen, but he had DJ Moore. Josh Allen had enough that should cover, you know, two, but A DJ Moore one was tough for anybody who did have him. Yeah, Shakir right away looked pretty good. They look like they want to target him. Dalton Kincaid, if you were worried that that was a week one question, I've got him where I've got him and Bowers.
And I'm like, I'm not risking it on Bowers this week. And Kincaid's good enough. And then he. He's like what we thought he could be at least through two games.
So I think that's a fantasy. I think that's a fantasy play. People sometimes ask me fantasy questions. I will help you. Or I will tell you what I would do.
I'm not giving advice because I don't want to be blamed If I'm wrong, but I would tell you what I would do. My buddy asked me if he should go with stribbling. or Krosky Merritt in week one. And I said, what I would do is Krasky Merritt. For many different reasons.
And he said, okay. And then stribbling got hurt, and now he's out for most of the season. But that's what I would have done. I don't like the way some of this is framed.
Some of this is framed where I think some of these guys that see The thing with fantasy and betting. That people can throw stats at you all they want. At the end of the day, I think it comes down to feeling. For whatever reason. Lot of people.
We're taking the lines last night. Actually, David's Voicemail discusses that.
Now, the Bills, David called me on Tuesday.
So the Bills have played another game since David called me. There's a lot of good breakdown after. But you are going to get. A little bit of a Bills week one breakdown. Because here in the Winkler verse.
We're never done breaking down week one. It's the most important week of the year.
So we're never done doing it.
So here's David. What's up? This is David from Buffalo. A few quick takes from week one. in the NFL.
Let's start out with the Bills. Great win in Houston. The defense came up big when they needed to. You know, that was the thing in the McDermott era. They never could come up big when they needed to.
They absolutely did in the biggest moment of that game there. Like, they're not the 85 Bears or the Steel Curtain, but you know what? They know how to get a stop and they proved it. Uh in the closing moments of that game. I thought Josh Allen had a lot more time to throw the football against that Houston defense.
I left the Bills 31-20 against Detroit. By the way. Hey, what was that final last night? 41-31? That's a pretty good prediction.
Ah. David.
So that wasn't too bad. Yeah, bills went up. You probably saw most of it, they went up early. And then it was a matter of Detroit coming back. Detroit is going to have games.
Like Jared Goff's stats. Four touchdowns. 327 yards. Amon Ra had a big night, Gibbs at a big night, Laporta. If you played anybody, maybe outside Jameson Williams.
But if you played your guys on the lines last night, you got. You got your points. I play Lions defense in a league because I am in too many leagues and I forgot. I didn't get to that one. To see if I need to make any changes.
So I'm kind of pissed about that. I think I got negative points. I'm playing Rami. In a league. Oh, negative two points.
Or no, I'm playing Joe. Joe's beating me 5.3 with Jamison to minus 2. With the Lions. Although, in my uh league I care about the most with my high school buddies. I'm up zero to minus point one.
Because he had DJ more. Charles says, I feel like Vegas told the Bills to let the Lions back into the game in the second half so people didn't shut it off. There's a lot of points being scored so far. I don't know if the week two trend, we've seen it in one game. I don't know if that's going to continue like week one.
But if you're in week one, like, I had a bunch of points last week. And I lost. And a lot of people complain. I'm like, oh, I suck at highest points and I still lost. But a lot of people had a lot of points last week and still lost.
A lot of guys scored, and it was guys that like. You have and get drafted. What I'm saying about the Lions is they have enough firepower to always come back. They just got to make sure their defense doesn't put them in a hole. And they have a great offense.
I don't think. There's a lot of Dan Campbell criticism. And I will go back to something else I've been talking about for years: I think the Lions, or I think Ben Johnson. My thought on Ben Johnson is what he should have rode out Detroit. I thought that Ben Johnson should have rode out Detroit because.
You're in a position where if you do something good. On offense, you're getting credit. Like if they let's say they go for a fourth and one And they miss it. If they miss it, That blames on Dan Campbell for going for it. But if they make it, Ben Johnson got the credit for the play call.
Now, Ben Johnson took another job, and I thought if that fails, now obviously it did not fail. And Ben Johnson is exactly what Chicago needed. And it is a bit scary. And I know they scored 59, which is the highest. point total in any sport ever.
No one's ever scored 59 in any game, any sport, ever. Is the way that Bears fans are reacting? They've got the Vikings this week, probably a dub.
So they could be 2-0. The Vikings, in that case, would sit at one and one, as would Detroit. And who knows what we're going to be? Who the f I mean I We can all see the Packers losing. Will they actually though?
Will they actually? If it was at home, if we had Micah, there's all these ifs, but it's not. It's week two on the road, weather could be bad. LaFleur can't figure shit out. The offensive line is maybe as bad as it's been in Brian Goudekin's tenure.
But Ben Johnson would still be there. He would just take over. He made the right call, obviously, but Dan Campbell. I still think the Lions had their taste and they'll never get it again. I think they blew their shot.
I think the Lions are still like, they're just they're where we are now. They had their shot, but now they're where we are. They've got too many issues or too many things. And Dan Campbell still he's I think he still thinks about those losses. And he's still trying to make up for them.
Here's the rest of David's voicemail. colleague Nick Costa. and your former competitor, Patrick. Mm-hmm. on Mad Dog Sports Radio tonight.
picked Detroit to win that game.
So did my guy Pat Boyle. And I don't know if these guys really Think Detroit's gonna win, or if they just want. To be on the other side, but if they're the ones getting betting advice, When it comes to betting advice. If you want to look up, like I subscribe at OddsJam, and I have a referral code if you'd like. But I sub subscribe there.
Because you can see all the like stats and where like The lines are being priced in other places, so that's fun. But if it's just some guy Like, I want to do my own research. If it's just some guy saying, I just really like the Lions tonight, that's just him really liking the Lions.
Now if a guy says it enough and then They're right more than they're wrong. You start to trust that guy, you follow him. But at the end of the day, He's just giving you his feeling. And what's behind a feeling? What's behind a feeling?
Does he just feel like? They're going to win. Does he not know, but he wants to be right and knows if he can get the lines on this one, then his reputation goes up? Like, The Bills were obviously going to win that game so much. I'm pissed I didn't make them my survivor.
Now, you don't take a team like that because they should beat other teams, but I'm taking the Niners this weekend against the. The Dolphins Oh, I'm out on guillotine leagues too. I don't like them. It is arrested David. Why would you?
you picked Detroit when So here's the thing we care about. All you need to do is Copy and paste the game plan that Belichick used in the Super Bowl years ago when Goff Played for the Rams. All you need to do, we go off to beat him. Literally, all you need to do. I'm not getting any.
Ain't no literature anything. Cut and paste that gameplay, it works every time. A couple other takes. A lot of people are shitting on Bo Nicks today. Bull Nix is not good, let's be honest.
But did you see the freaking Broncos defense? Oh my God, I mean, was this flag football or two hand touch? I mean, they don't know how to tackle them. By the way. Tom Payton, if you didn't want Davis Webb to be your offensive coordinator, you probably shouldn't have named him to be the offensive coordinator in the first place.
All I know is what's on my cash mill. Uh, in that game coming up this weekend, and oh, by the way, the giants in the comment book, I don't know what happened when I listened to that the first time, it sounded fine. I didn't know what happened there. Sean Payton, let me tell you what the fuck happened with Denver. Sean Payton's doing the old classic move here.
I don't know why. I don't know how. But somewhere along the way, he gave the play calling to Davis Webb. I think he wants Davis Webb to fail. I think he wants Davis Webb to fail, and he's going to be taking over the play calls relatively soon.
I think he sacrificed a loss. to make himself look better. The TV broadcast was working overdrive. I thought, especially Aikman, who I really like. I thought he was going overboard, letting us know that Sean Payton is not the one calling these plays.
It is Davis Webb. It wasn't just, well, Sean's not calling the plays this year. Or Davis Webb, he's the play. They meant they wanted you at the end of the broadcast. At the end of the, because the first time they mentioned Davis Webb, you're like, oh, he's calm.
I remember him playing. I didn't know he was even done. But by the end of the broadcast, they wanted you to know. That Davis Webb Was the one. Calling these plays.
My friend just texted me: Duncan Sheik died. Oh, he's like the worst possible guy to die in this era. His song was called Barely Breathing and He's Dead. I don't even want to look. At what people are saying.
Of course, I'm more familiar with Duncan Sheik's other popular song. Oh, I accidentally muted myself. That was crazy. Let me, I'm about done. Let me show you some other things I want to put on this wall.
Can we do some, can we do some. What do I call that? What do I call that when I do all prop comedy? Frock comedy. What are some other things?
things they want to push on the Where are you things?
Okay. There's three other things I'm trying to find a place for. And they're old They're old pins.
Okay. This is Kellogg's baseball. From like what year would this be? Certainly when the Brewers were still in the American League. But it's the pins of the teams like in the late 80s.
So we had a lot of these in our house. There's my screen. On the Reflection, but we eat a lot of kind of these things in the house.
So I like, but it's too, you can't really tell what it is.
So that's gonna need to go somewhere else. I've also got the. Coca ver Coca-Cola version of the NFL. I think this was just after expansion in 94.
So, oh, 1996. I'll try to not have the ring light, but. A bunch of Coke pins that make up a football. And then I got an NFL one too. But I don't have a thing for it.
And this is from God, I don't know. I would sell these, I guess. I don't know what to do with them. Chauncey DePinto's back. Chauncey says, double exclamation points.
Pin post now double exclamation point. Uh paid airdrop alarm emoji. And then finger point emoji. Yeah. Um We got a good weekend.
We got a good weekend of college football. LSU will miss turn some heads. Going to be a. Wet, rainy weekends, so a lot of football to be watched. Where's the NBA Bucks game ball they gave your son?
Is that me? I don't know what. I don't know what. What did they give me? I don't have that.
Is that someone else? I have Bradley Center Court. I don't know. I don't know you guys. All right, so yeah, good week.
Thanks to Ebo for coming on on Wednesday. Obviously, the mm-hmm boys and Carlos and Horvat will kind of go on that pattern at least through football season as we get closer to 777. Um I said the Bucs gave Junior a ball. I don't know. I don't know what I said.
I don't know what I said in this show, though. I don't remember. I'm sure I talked about my kid at least twice. But I don't really remember. Did I tell you I saw or a kid got hit yesterday?
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Oh yeah, and the post games. Post games. Oh, Packer post games. This one will be during the red zone or the first window of games.
So I guess we can. Talk about that. I do finally have a T V down here.
So I can watch the red zone while I talk because that will always skeeve me out. But yeah, we'll be live after Packers Jets. Um I imagine we might go pretty long. I need to buy a cigar too. I said I'd smoke a cigar down here if LaFleur blew another game.
You understand I'm a Packers fan, right? You you understand I'm a Packers fan. I want them to win. Super Bowls. They currently are employing a guy who is making that impossible.
Before I go, I got a comment here from Layla Mithsud. This is a finger point emoji. Alarm clock emoji paid with the dollar sign. Airdrop pin post is live. What the f what is their pin all right, I'll bite.
I'll bite here. What are they trying to get me to what do they want me to buy? They want me to buy. Oh, these comments don't even show up on Twitter. They only show up on StreamYard.
That's interesting. Far of minus Rogers gone equals the end. This is from John Frank78, who's a Bears fan. Who spelt Farvrong. It's been forty years.
John. It's been forty years. We'll be back on Sunday. Go, Pat, go! Regrettably.
Thanks for stopping into the Winklerverse.
