I am Bart Winkler, it is the 16th of 20th. September And we come to you live. Around 11 o'clock on this Wednesday. Very excited for this show. Ebo.
Is joining us. Ebo is on the zone in Madison and their statewide network. Ebo does the mornings over the line. Uh Grants Network. Bills Network.
Ebo's network. Ebo gets things started. And in the morning, Of a network that's so strong and so powerful. Despite their syndicated programming from two to four, in the network that is so powerful, to be the morning show man. You set the tone for the day.
You Create how the station is going to sound for the day. The takes start. With you. That's how I used to feel. And then uh And then I always said everything was ruined by 10, but that is.
What the responsibility of the morning show. Is on radio stations across the country. This is episode number 743, and we are. Spinning our way. I want a different verb for that, but I made it up.
We're spinning our way to 777, episode 777. Is coming. We've been doing the Winklerverse for that long. And we're just getting started. I actually do believe that's true.
I do believe that we're just getting started. This is my path. This is my path. This is my journey. This is my road.
I am willing to, if I can find a way to. From the views and the clicks you guys give me, A, thank you, B, keep sharing and subscribing. I'm committed to doing this till I'm about 50. I don't know. Once I'm after 50, I'm going to feel weird podcasting in my basement.
I'm 42. At 48, I might start to get a little sketch. At 49, Or maybe it's not about my age. Maybe it's about my kids' age. You know, when he's seven years old and he comes down here and he sees daddy working, that's one thing.
If he's going to be like 15. Trying to have girls over, and I'm downstairs screaming about fucking the days of Don Makowski. I don't know how that's going to play. In this house. This is episode number 743.
Seven forty-three.
So seven seven seven should come. Around World Series time? Around World Series time, can we talk about that? We'll get into that in just a second. Also, in the month of September.
We are Reminding you About the hours. Where it's light and in the hours where it's dark. Ooh, that transition, though, is tough on pedestrians and bikers.
So we've teamed up with the Wisconsin Bike Fed this month to remind people that the time of the day. During the fall months, where you're the most vulnerable is in those early evening hours.
So please use your lights. As the daylight hours wane, I am talking to you on the bike. I am talking to you in the car. When you're around other users, do be aware. Slow down, look around.
No need to. Get to where you're going as fast as you can. Not if you're going to take out a couple of bikers on the way. We can all do our part to reduce low-light crashes. I I we're trying to prevent crashes and yeah, crashes are bad, so don't Put your light on.
What's that song? Put your lights down. You better leave your lights down. Cause there's a monster. Sleeping under my bed.
Whispering in my ear. It's everlast and uh And Santana. That album's pretty good. That album does t stand supernatural. The test of time.
You bought it for smooth. And then you're like, this Dave song's pretty good. And then Maria Maria. She reminds me of a West Side story. I'm gonna listen to that after this.
I was just listening to some Pandora. I was trying to find new songs I like. And then I fell asleep. I've already taken a nap today. That feels wrong and dirty, but the rest of the day is going to be very.
productive. We got to start to talk about the Brewers. They've won the NL Central again. That's the fourth straight year. As I get into this, I do want to play this.
This is Big Cat from Pardon My Take. Finally, a Cubs fan admitting Finally. that they have What he's referring to. A brewer's problem. Big cat.
Just They own us. We lost. Yeah, no, the brewers kick our ass right now. It's very similar to like. We need a Ben Johnson to come in and say, fuck these guys, we got to take it to him.
Because it does feel like the Brewers care more about these games than the Cups. I know that's a meatball take, but I do feel that way. And I cannot stand their fucking manager. Pat Murphy is such a, oh my God, if this guy does another, like, we're just a small little scrappy underdog. Shut the fuck up, dude.
You guys have been in the playoffs like five years. Where's the lie, though? Where's the lie? They've been in the playoffs five years in a row, or whatever it is, more than that. They're a really good baseball team.
They have a really good team. They have really good talent. Minor league. Oh, we're just scrappy little underdogs. Shut up.
Every time they lose, oh, we're just scrappy. We're just trying to win with these little scrappy underdogs. And then Miz always, Miz has one bad outing, and he's like, oh, the mound was slippery. Oh, poor me. Fuck them.
I hate him. That's what Greg Calvin used to say. I was arguing with Cubs fans. Over the weekend, and they're all like, Yeah, Craig Council couldn't wait to get the fuck out of Milwaukee. I'm like, What are you talking about?
I thought that was like, So, Cubs fans are the reason for that attitude. No. What? What? Because they treat the Cubs fans treat Milwaukee like little brother, and it is the complete and total opposite.
I'm, I'm, I'm not treating them like little brother. I said, we have a Brewers problem. The Brewers are this is the first baseball team. This is our, they're our daddy. They're a really good baseball team, and that's my point: they are, they go to the playoffs every year, they're really good every year.
Yeah, do they blow it in the playoffs? Yeah, they do. That was what I was arguing with them about. But, but. I'm just sick of Pat Murphy being like, oh, we're such a scrappy little guys and all the you guys win like a hundred games every year.
And the Cubs should be able to beat the Brewers'cause we are able to outspend them and we can't. It fucking drives me nuts.
So yeah, Eddie. We got a brewer's problem. The Cubs lost last night. The Brewers won in Pittsburgh. You knew it was going to be a special night when Levering and Dillard were.
Um Just sitting in the booth in an empty stadium. And Waiting for the Cubs game to be over.
So you flip on the Cubs game on TBS, and Brian Anderson's on the call. And he's on the call, and the Cubs lose. Drake Baldwin, Madison native, hits a was it a two-run shot? To extend the lead to 6-3, and Pete Carrow Armstrong was the final out in that game. But he's having the best baseball season of all time.
Just ask any Cubs fan. Actually, don't, they'll just tell you. Do you know no one's ever hit 40 home runs in a season before? And also stolen a lot of bases. Yeah, no one's ever hit a walk-off before either, before Piccro Armstrong.
He is doing things that might save the game. I don't think this was reported. But there is a rumor going around with these owners' meetings that they are so adamant. About a lockout. They're so desperate for a lockout.
They really want one because of a salary cap, but they're so also entertained. By Pete Crowe Armstrong's. Heroics night in and night out, and just that he plays baseball the right way. There's been a lot of guys close over the years. that have played baseball you know, well.
And like true, but no one's ever really done it the right way. You know, the way that Abner Doubleday dreamed of. Until Pete Crow Armstrong came along.
So it seems like. I don't know. This is factual. Don't aggregate or report this or tell your friends. But I've heard rumors that the owners are so enamored with Pete Crowe Armstrong.
That they actually, these, these, these evil cold billionaires. They might start having a heart. Because they want not just themselves to continue to watch PCA. But they want us. They're realizing if they go to a lockout.
They're going to take away. Our chance at watching PCA. For a summer. In in like his prime. And so they're really thinking about.
If they can't figure out the lockout, They're thinking about just kicking that can down the road until PCA's career is over. They're really excited, these owners. About How PCA plays. And how good he is.
So, again, I. I'm not reporting this, but I've heard that the owners are so smitten with Pete Crowe Armstrong playing the game like a real person should. that they might prolong um or or they might push off the strike. Because Peter Armstrong is the greatest player that. that ever lived.

The bulk of this episode is a Matt LaFleur episode. Big surprise. Matt LaFleur. Malafleur He should have been fired after the Bears game. He wasn't.
All of you thought.
Well, you know, just another year. Give him an extension. I coached for like 10 years. And then one game into the 2026 season, it seems like. You guys are on our side.
But was that just for a day? Or are you going to retreat back? And try to play it cool. Has the LaFleur hate reached the Overton window enough yet where it's. It's the it's the opinion you have to have.
Because everyone else has it.
Well, there's two people that have it, and that's all that's important. Me. And Ebo. Joining the Winklerverse. For the very first.
And not the last time. Evo, great to talk to you. I need a moment, Bart. I need a moment. I just watched Aaron Rodgers give Mike McCarthy a game ball after they won in Steel City.
I just watched it before I came out. I need a moment. It's great to be on the Winklerverse man. Finally, our past. Cross.

I just felt confident in that. I probably would have had you on sooner, but. I actually like I like I'm too fond of you that I didn't want to have. I just really like your stuff, dude. I just want to glaze you for a second.
The feeling is me. Can I glaze for a second? When I first got into radio or sports talk radio, I'll be honest, I was a fart stinkler guy, fart stinkler, and then. As As it's just, you know how it is in radio. There's these egos, there's these people that think like they're better than everyone else when reality is you're just a.
Can I can I swear on here? Yeah. You're just a dipshit just like me. And then I'm on Twitter and I'm laughing. Everything you're putting out there, I'm like, this is this content.
I'm glazing, but this content. Is incredible.
Now I feel like a Matt LaFleur glazer. You know, it's good stuff. It's, I'm very excited and happy to be on, dude. I'm ready to get into Matt LaFleur. I've been hating Matt LaFleur.
Gosh, it's not a moment that I can totally pinpoint when it exactly happened, but I can go back to 2021 when he decided to take the ball out of Aaron Rodgers' hand and kick a field goal and then give the ball back to Tom Brady.
Well, it was important that he made a needed to make a one-score game, a one-score game. Don't forget about that. And then, you know, on Sunday, and it's nice to see people come around. You know, you can only shake people so much to try and get them out of their trance until all of a sudden they're brain dead. You can't do it.
They have to want to see it, you know? And I'm glad that people are finally seeing that Matt LaFleur. points off the board and then chose to. Go with it with Jordan Love and give the ball back to Carson Wentz? Like, what do we?
What are we doing? Who now may end up starting most of the season in Minnesota? Yeah. So Carson Wentz can send Matt LaFour a thank you card. Say, hey, thanks.
Thanks for the revitalization of my career. This guy who's been looking for his next chance since Nick Foles. Won the Super Bowl MVP from him is bouncing around, has become a career journeyman. He's basically this generation's Gus Ferrat, and you just let him beat you. In a comeback fashion, I actually sometimes feel like a little bit.
By the way, I do have my Lafleur stick. Are you with me? Are you? I am going to. January 6th, the Packers on January 6th.
I love using that as something to do too. It's yes. I'm going to actually do it. January 6th this year is the week. Before it's week 18.
So, I think they have the Lions. Yeah, the TBD time, but so TBD for our J6, but yes. We'll probably do it in the afternoon. You gotta gotta get a good, you know, sleep in a little bit. Tradition has it to be an afternoon event.
It's gotta be daylight, you know. But I'll be there with you. If they're not gonna make the playoffs, Then I'm going to do if they if they have a shot, I don't know yet. And if it's too cold, then I'll backtrack. And also, if I just puss out, but what I'm thinking of is I'm going to stand at.
What's a good ellipse? I'll just stand it curly. Sure. And I'll be like. Everybody don't go into Lambo!
Don't don't ruin anything But if you do, I'm coming with you. I'll be there. Do it for me. And we're going to go into fucking policy's office, take a shit on his desk.
Well, I want to sit before we shit on his desk. I want to sit on his desk like this, you know. Make a couple decisions and be, you know, Mark Murphy had steal the podium John Eric Sullivan used to stand at. I'm going to wear a big fucking cheese hat instead of the Vikings Patriot, whoever the hell that guy was, and we're going to have a good time. And I'm gonna, I'm gonna take the, so Ed Polise has got to do something, right?
Instead of firing Matt LaFleur, he's gonna build the second or maybe the world's largest bass pro shop in Lambeau Field or next to Mark Murphy Sledding Hill because he's got to do something, okay? But it's got to be connected. They got to take, they got to tear down something first. You sled into the tank, the fish tank from the from sledding hill to the bass pro shop. That's Ed Polise's fucking next plan is to is to get you into the bass pro shop because they got to make money.
Dude, okay. I will say, how shocked were you when they didn't fire him after the Bears' debacle? I still I still feel like I don't know that I was disappointed. Yeah, I don't think I was shocked. I think I knew it was going to happen.
What bothers me, and what I keep talking about and what I keep stressing. There was no like more perfect opportunity. To move on from Matt LaFleur. Like I watch big brother. And Don't lie, that wasn't a jefflec.
But When you're the head of household, when you're in charge of the house. I've never watched it, so I don't know.
So, where they all live in a house for the summer. I know the premise. Yeah. So, when you're in charge of the house. You get to put people on the block.
And a lot of times, people wanna try to evict somebody from the house. Without getting a lot of, they keep saying blood on our hands. I don't want to evict someone and then be like the bad guy. For doing that, I want to be able to have my head of household week and then be one of the other people and not be a target.
So I thought, I keep using that phrase: no blood on your hands, because Ed Polassey comes in. He's the new head of household. He's the new HOH. Matt LaFleur is on a five-game losing streak. The 21-3 lead against the Bears, I still feel like is being glossed over.
From by Packer fans, like that is that is uh tragic, and we're just like, whatever. You come in, you're new, Matt LaFleur. The public perception, too, you can always tell, like. what the beat Is ready to say the beat. is ready to say something.
After they feel like The public is already there. Yes.
So the beat is not going to ever try to convince us of anything, but if we're convinced, They'll They'll do that. And Silverstein's article, and there was another one, maybe Huber, but some of these guys were like, I think this is it. I think the Packers have to move on from LaFleur.
So when they publish those, it's like, all right, the sentiment's in the building now. They know if they write this and LaFleur stays. You know, that's awkward for a little bit, whatever. But I thought there was no better time. You have a new president who has to make it or gets to make an impact on his team and send this direction however he wants.
And they send it in the direction of keeping things the same. And that's what bothers me. As much as I'm upset about LaFleur. being a dog shit coach slash human. He's not a dog shit human.
He's just weak. He's just a weak person. I think he's a nice guy, but he sucks. Yeah, it's title town, it's not eyebrow town, you know? Yeah, right.
Um, I think. The problem for me the most is because I'm so focused on LaFleur, and everyone's just like, oh, Winkler's back on this LaFleur shit. It's Tidal Town. And when I grew up Ebo, That used to mean something.
Now it feels like. It feels like the Packers. are telling us Stop calling us that. It feels like the Packers are like. I know what LaFleur is.
Ed policy, he knows LaFleur is a guy who he can, you know. Get you to the playoffs, but you're gonna lose. That's what the Packers is. And policy by extending him is telling us. I'm okay with this.
So you guys need to be two. I think a lot of times, I said this the other day, maybe to Grant. Um If we treated our spouses like we treat the Packers, there'd be no divorce because we're willing to do. Whatever the Packers tell us to do, and right now the Packers are telling us. that we're a team that this is what we like.
We're okay winning nine games. It's not even bite at the apple. We're not even contending in the playoffs. We just want to get in and. Make some money in January and then go home.
So you brought up Big Brother. I'll give you another Big Brother. This is from 1984. Reject what your eyes see, reject what you hear. That's what the brass of Green Bay is telling you.
Reject what you see on the field, and we will tell you what you like. You like Matt LaFleur. You like getting the Matt LaFleur seed, which is the seven seed. You like these losing streaks. You'll like it.
Why? Because we got a sledding hill. Why? Because Ed Policy will do have a concert come in here.
Okay. I was at the game when Mike McCarthy was fired. It was one of the worst displays of professional sport I had ever seen. It was awful. Aaron Rodgers lost to Josh Rosen.
I swear Aaron Rodgers was trying to get Big Mike fired. It was Rogers' birthday. He got his wish. It was a debacle. Mike McCarthy, who won a Super Bowl and has more wins than Vince Lombardi, has a fucking street named after him, was fired midseason.
Fired! What's Matt LaFleur done? He's lost six in a row, lost to your biggest rival in the Bears in unexplicable fashion. The game against the Vikings last year was an atrocity. Derrick Henry, you knew was going to run.
Tyler Huntley was a backup quarterback. He's still running all over. And by the way, Jeff Hafley is not as good as everyone says he is either. But anyways, Matt LaFlore. One of the most overrated Packer figures on my list.
Well, because he got a little Botox and he had the gift of gab on the podium. And those reporters just... But Yeah. But I have to as of you on the audio, Ebo made a. A gesture of inserting a wiener into a mouth.
The proverbial wiener. No! Matt. Six game losing streak.
Now, I know you're not going to fire him week one, but I've seen coaches be fired for less that have won a Super Bowl, have won a big game. Matt LaFleur hasn't done anything since Aaron Rodgers was here. MVP Aaron Rodgers. That was 2021. That was five years ago.
Reject what you see, reject what you hear. Take the slop they give you.
So I'm going to talk about Donald Trump for a second. Please. Come on. It's related. What?
I'd like to go off tangents as well. I'm here. I'm listening.
So I'll tell this story. I'll I'll where did they where did you go? The hell'd you go? Biden's economy gets you? Whatever.
I'm going to hold that story until Evil gets back. I don't know where the fuck he went. I thought he was taking his. is phone off as a bit. I thought you were doing a bit.
I was like, what the hell are you doing? No, I don't know. I don't know what the hell happened. I think. I think Big MAGA cut me off.
I don't know what happened there. Policies in your phone. Yeah, Matt, little Matt got me. All right, you didn't start the rant, did you? No, I during the election.
of 2024. This time I will just say I somebody I know, and this is real.
Somebody I know. made an impassioned Facebook post. The night of the election. And this person said. I can't believe.
I'm about to vote. For a Sexual predator, corrupt. Like everything every everything everyone has ever said about. 45, 47. But So then they go, but This is who God sent us.
Yeah. Finally, I get the reaction I'm looking for there. This is who God sent us. And so this is what I, the path I must follow.
So that's what if you think that if someone out there thinks that's funny, that's what you guys are. That's what Packer fans are. Packer fans. Just with better hair and eyebrows. Thank you.
Yeah. Packer fans. At least Matt LaFleur stays awake. Heckers fans. And doesn't shit his pants everywhere he goes, just figuratively.
Yeah. Packer fans, they will follow. What the Packers tell them to follow. I think I'm trying to think of the average Packer fan, and I don't mean this. In a negative way.
Uh'cause I am not an average Packer fan. I am uh I am a I am a better Packer fan than most. I've transcended Packer fandom, okay? I'm a transcendent being. I am a fan.
I'm a fan. of my teams. I am not a disciple. I'm not a follower. I'm a fan.
And so I root for them. I still rooted for them, even though I hate Matt LaFleur and wanted to be fired immediately. And even if things happen that are like, That's good for my argument. Like, yeah, I'll take the victory lap after, but in the moment. I don't want Carson Wentz to come back and beat the Packers.
I just think that the average Packer fan. Doesn't want to be doesn't want Doesn't want the Packers to bring them any discomfort. Other than, like, during the game, if we lose, I don't want to think about Josh Jacobs. Josh Jacobs. The girlfriend wants to steal the video.
He should play and give him a Walter Payton Man of the Year award. The Matt LaFleur, Matt LaFleur is fine. We lost whatever. As the average Packer fan, I'm more interested if Easton Butler and Bill Huber are polite to each other rather than if Matt LaFleur should be fired.
So I think the average Packer fan. I think it's more of like an unwillingness to want to go. To where we are, which is. Just sort of Lethal execution. We've transcended.
Yeah. We've transcended planes of existence that they can't fathom yet. They'll get there. They'll eventually get there. When Matt LaFleur is fired, they will tell you that they have always been on your side.
our side. I was there right with you. I said, I said. I even felt like after the Vikings game, it felt like everyone was like.
Okay, I see it now. But not well, it won't beat the Jets.
Well, the Jets, then it will be, well, you guys are idiots. We're back to the Super Bowl bound. And listen, I'm right with you. I want the Packers to succeed. And before the game against the Vikings, I was going to put a post out there: how will Matt LaFleur fuck it up today?
And I said, I want to give him the benefit of the doubt. I don't want to start on the bad foot. I don't want to put the negative energy out there. And then come the fourth quarter when that field goal. Points taken off the board.
I said, oh boy. He fucked it up and watch what happens next. I laughed. I laughed. I didn't cry.
I kept laughing. My wife doesn't care about football. She's in the kitchen and she goes, What's so funny in there? And I said, I said, you just wouldn't get it. You wouldn't get it.
You really wouldn't get it. And she goes, it's. Are they winning? Is that why you're laughing? I go.
Not at all. Not at all, honey. You just wouldn't get it. It felt like when LaFleur, when LaFleur took points off the board, I was fine with that. But then it felt like...
A couple things. One, it felt like he was like, oh shit, now what? Like he did the right thing. Or like he climbed Mount Everest and then he's like Well, fucked up down now. What do I do?
Okay. I mean, did you see what Stanovich said? Adam Stenovich said it wasn't on the table to use Tucker Craft. The day before, Matt LaFlore said it was on the table. Matt LaFleur can't even get his coffee getter, his eyebrow teaser holder on the same page as him.
How's he gonna get You know what? This is going to be a fun season. It's going to be great. It's going to be fun. If they don't beat the Jets.
I won't be surprised. They'll beat the Jets, though, I think. And then everyone will be back. You're not? They probably will.
I mean, it's the Jets, right? Like. Even you could assemble a team of all-stars on every position for the Jets. They must be on an Indian burial ground or something. They're just going to lose.
Like, that's. Sun comes up, grass is green, skies are blue, the Jets lose. That's it. They'll beat them. Everyone will be back on the LaFleur train.
And then by the end of the year, Bart. It'll be Eight wins, maybe nine wins. They'll get the Matt LaFleur seed, potentially, the seven seed, and it'll be a first-round exit. He's the same with Ryan Day. Like Ryan Day.
Would have been fired after he lost to Michigan. If the college football playoff was what it used to be. Yeah. But it was expanded, so he still got in and then he won the whole thing. They've expanded it for LaFleur, too.
But then he still loses. He is, I just. I kind of feel late to the party actually on the floor. Cause I didn't. I didn't really turn all my ire to him.
I was so focused on my ire to Rogers for the longest time. And then once he, you know. Fucking It's gone, then I need a new target. You always need a target. Yeah.
But with LaFleur, I didn't like, I didn't like, so I'm thinking about how he was hired. And I remember the pride. I love this. I love this. The process where he was hired.
I think they had like nine candidates. Yeah, there was like Vic Fangio, there was Eric Biennome, there was a lot of big names. Dan Campbell was thrown in there. Jim Caldwell, I think. Yep, Caldwell.
Yep. And then it felt like. It felt like they had passed on some guys or maybe got some no's. It felt like Matt LaFleur, and I thought I heard this, like, he was their last interview scheduled. I just read an article because I was brushing up on this.
It was from Packers News. And it was listing all of the interviews, all the big time ones. And then there was a throwaway sentence. There was a throwaway sentence. And it said, and then they plan on interviewing some lesser known candidates like a Matt LaFleur.
And then that was like, that was it.
So it was all the big time names, then a throwaway sentence. The packernews.com. No one ever ever because what people are saying right now is give me one name. Give me one name who will replace Matt LaFleur. First of all, I don't hire.
I fire. I'm in the firing business. No one wakes up and says, I wonder who they're going to talk about hiring today. No one says that for SportsDock Readers. Why are people so hung up on that?
I love that line from you. Nobody. wakes up, says, I wonder who's gonna get hired today. It's not entertaining. No one would have told you Matt LaFleur was going to get hired in 2018.
Not a single person. Nobody. He, I just remember, I remember my take at the time. Was it felt It felt my take or my idea was. Murphy wanted LaFleur.
Goudekins didn't. They scheduled it last so that Goudekins would sort of have to say yes. They had that press conference. Murphy did the whole thing, which was weird. LaFleur just, he was, he was going to be fired by Mike Vrable in Tennessee.
Yeah, his offense dropped. The offense dropped when he was the OC. He wanted. A job, not just for the job of head coach. He just wanted to not be unemployed.
Thankfully, the Packers were just giving away head coaching jobs. And then now, He's get, he's, he should be fired, but the Packers, the Packers, the Packers, that's a Mike Clemens. Who I adore. Shout out Mike Clemens. The Packers.
We're just like Okay, we're going to promote you because Ed Policy's here and he didn't want to do any work. Yeah. Well, shit, if I take over, I fucking gotta hire a new fucking guy and I just gotta hire someone. I just thought I was gonna be here to, you know, gladhand the board of directors and fucking, which pisses me off too, that I get a letter every goddamn year to vote for which business owners do you like the best in the Fox cities to be on the board. And I don't get any say as an owner in the hiring of Ed Policy, but it felt like at the time it was not the decision that the Packers.
Totally wanted to make, they just kind of like had their backs against the wall. And it sort of feels like that now. I don't like there's people in the um Chap. That are talking about what they want to see with the Jets. I don't want to see the Packers lose to the Jets.
If they do, though. I'm going to buy a cigar and smoke on the live stream. Like, I can't picture a world where they lose to the Jets. But I But if they do. It is going to be nuclear on Monday.
It is going to be game. It is, oh, it'll be the greatest. for radio, for sports talk. For the for your show every Monday. Will be electric, dude.
It'll be one of, it was like a kid on Christmas if they lose to the Jets. I don't see them losing to the Jets, but if they do. I'm giddy right now thinking about it. But as a Packers fan, the world you grew up in no longer exists. For a Pakistan.
It doesn't exist anymore. It's over, dude. It's been over. And it'll continue to be their discretion. I want to, I want you to really hammer the point.
It's been ripped away from it. It's been decided they're fine with this. Yeah. Again, people have been fired. Super Bowl-winning head coaches who have won games of consequence have been fired.
Four less. He lost to the Browns last year in a game that was winnable. He lost to the Panthers last year in a game that. Like was unlosable. You couldn't lose that game, and he did.
He's in a six-point game. Six-game losing streak. And I think, like, It already happened against the Bears. Here's so I. You have to, I think, looking back.
Looking back.
Sometimes there's losses that are so bad that you can't ever recover. And McCarthy, maybe in hindsight, the Seattle game. Maybe they should have just moved on. I don't know. No, you're right.
With LaFleur, it's like Yeah, he had the Browns. Yeah, he had the Panthers, but even if those didn't happen. Just look at the two Bears games. They had a lead against the Bears. They lost.
Then in the playoffs. It was 21-3 at half. And I remember when they showed the crowd after halftime. The crowd was still like partying. and celebrating.
And they were still like. All right, if we can just get a stop. They should not be thinking that. Down 21.3, but they knew from last time. that it was doable.
Now you fast forward to week one of this year. And When the Packers are up, the Vikings never have to feel out of it because they know it's doable and they know they can do it quickly. And so now every game that Matt LaFleur takes a lead. The other team knows. They can come back.
But more importantly, Matt LaFleur knows that he's blown it. Yeah. that this happens to him. And this fucking trend of him going down to his Fucking Amazon fire tablet pad, whatever. How does he not know that that is just like the worst fucking look?
He looks like somebody who in uh The SATs Finagles his way to go to the bathroom, and all of a sudden he's cramming. On his fucking history books, real quick, to get the question right. He just, you can't do this shit on the fly, Matt. I mean, you said it for the fourth and what? I didn't mind taking the points off the board and going for it.
I liked the cojones of it. I did too, but then it seemed like he was like, now what? It showed you that Matt LaFleur doesn't know the right thing to do in the situation. I mean, go back to the Bears game in the regular season. Romeo Dobbs wears a guardian helmet.
Do you want a guy out there feeling an onside kick who's gonna get blown up who wears a fucking guardian cap? I want a guy out there that doesn't care about his brains getting scrambled.
Okay, he's thinking about this. When I'm 50, am I going to be able to eat steak or pudding? Boom boom and then there's the ball and then the Bears get the ball back and they win Wrong move. You Jordan Love, why is he QB sneaking? Wrong move.
The guy, Matt LaFleur, couldn't press the right button if you put it in front of him and said, press this. You're right. And even like if LeFleur so if love is like at the line And then he doesn't like what he sees or checks out or whatever. Cans, whatever LaFleur's got timeouts. He can be like, no, no, no, we need to run this play.
You don't like the like, he just. He just likes to gave up. He, like, I made the right decision. I'm paralyzed. I'm frozen.
I don't know what to do. I feel like. I feel like people. I feel like people I'm just trying to figure out like. We have a lot to get off our chest.
It feels therapeutic, it feels good.
Well, a big reason that We need to do this together. Yeah. is there's a lot still in the in the fart stinkler camp. There's a lot, and that's fine. By the way.
I love the board. The board thing. I know you're a Simpsons guy, I can tell. I love the Bort, dude. That.
Amazing. I am okay with Bort. I'm okay with Fart Stinkler, actually, because. It's great. It's fantastic.
Bart Winkler, Bart Stinkler. It's too good. It's cool.
So I can. The cleverness of it. When I when people just call me Bert.
Okay. I want to kill him. See how? Also My name is Okay, my name is Bart. It's not Bartholomew.
Oh, do it.
So then they go.
So it's just Bart? Just Bart?
So I've got the four most diabolical letters in all of sports entertainment. B-A-R-T. My real name is Bo, B-E-A-U, Bo. That's right. They have B-E-A-U Bo.
They say, is it short for Beau Regard? And I said, I'm like you. I go, no. It's just power. They can't handle it.
Is it Beauregard or Beaumont? No, it's just Beau. You get Bartholomew? I haven't heard those names since the fucking gold rush. I know.
I think I was a mistake. Tycoons were running this country. I came out, my parents named me Bo, and they divorced like nine months later. They're like, this kid. Can't do it.
Can't do it. Okay. Would they say it was your fault? I just assume it was, you know. You had 10, you had 10 ear infections.
We had to put tubes in here. You never shut the hell up. Hey. I'll see you every other weekend, Dad. All right.
What are we talking about? My wife and I are in a loving relationship, but if the divorce happened, it would be 100% because of the kid. I mean, there's no question. See, I've been married 10 years now together, almost 18. No kids, though.
No kids. It's great to do whatever you want, whenever you want. Yeah, it's nice to have a kid, but it's also. I mean, it's nice to have a kid. I'm not, there's no also.
It's the greatest thing that's ever happened to me. Of course. I assume it will be. It's also very fucking hard. Yeah.
Yeah. Yeah. And there's challenges in your life you couldn't even fucking fathom. I'll let you fathom them. I'll just continue to keep going.
Well, there's two elementary schools in Shorewood, and one is like. One is like stuck up compared to the other one. We go to poor one. Gives you character. There's like people that are.
They're trying to have their second graders grow up too fast. It's like their second graders, who cares? This is why people are here. Or is it? Did you play soccer?
This is the first time Bart and I have ever talked. Yeah, ever. On air. Did you?
So we've both got the B-E-A-U, B-A-R-T, Beauregard. Bartholomew, Simpsons, did you play soccer? That paint the floor. My kid or my friend's My friend named his kid Bull. B O or B-E-A-U.
It's a power name. And I thought. Because This is a lifelong friend. I go on Packer trips with him all the time. He's a big.
I go, oh, like So you named him after Lambo? You just called him Bo? And he's like, huh? And, like, my first thought is when you named your kid Bo, it was like Lambo. He goes, I don't know.
What are you talking about? B-E-A-U like Lambo. Yeah. He goes, oh yeah, what the fuck?
Okay. Well, Hang on, my dad didn't want me to name the B-O because he thought the kids would make fun of me, say B-O body odor.
So he said, we'll just go B-E-A-U. True story. He didn't like me. No, did you play soccer?
Okay. Um Good. Um Jesus. No, I think you love me. I talk to a woman like every six months if you want to, if you want her content.
I think I got into radio to try to hit heaven to notice me, you know, give me some approval, you know, notice me. Notice me. I don't think he still doesn't listen. I mean I've seen like kids make it big in like basketball, and then their dad shows up when he goes pro. I've never seen a dad show up.
After their kids. You know, hit the big skis in market 103.
So I only knew he listened one time when. When we were kids, I have two half brothers. We got McDonald's, and he supersized them for lunch. And then at dinner time, we said we were hungry. And he said, how the hell are you hungry?
I supersized your lunch. Why would you be hungry?
So it's like eight hours later. And I said that story on air. And then a listener messaged me saying that my dad was complaining to them that I was exaggerating about. I'm like, well, he did listen.
Okay. Yeah. You know, Market 103 can get your dad to listen, you know?
Well, Good luck with that. That sounds like it is. I mean, I joke through the pain a lot. I'm worried that this is a big thing for you. Yeah.
Never. This is what fuels me every day, all right? Steals me. You brought up soccer for some reason. I was just curious if you played soccer.
Mm-hmm. I feel like you did.
So here's a conversation that I just had last week. Because I did.
Well, this is how mine goes.
So I met this guy. And He A mutual friend. And somehow we're in the same like soccer. Premier League Pick'em League. And Matt Schneidman's in this league.
Somehow, I know people that know enough about Matt Schneideman to have. Matt Schneideman blocked me when I told him his articles should be written in Cran because that's the fucking age he writes at. He looks like a cousin of Beavis and Butthead in his videos. Anyways.
Okay. Yeah. He uh The guy goes, You played soccer? I'm like, Yeah, yeah, yeah. I was goalie.
He goes, No shit, I was goalie too. Where'd you go to college? And I go, oh, you're asking where I played in college. I didn't play in college. I was bad.
My dad was the coach in high school. He's like, oh, yeah, I play a little in college. No big deal. I looked him up. He was fucking all conference at Milwaukee four years in a row.
Well, at least you had a dad there to coach you. Humble brag about having a dad. What how long did you play? What were you? I was uh left center mid.
I played all the way up till intermurals in college. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, fun. It was a good time.
I'm coaching now and it's. I'm an idiot. I'm coaching. I had this dream of coaching my kid. And then Um taking him and whoever's in his grade.
like coaching them for 10 years, getting up to the high school. And then all these kids are ready to play high school. And then I go. Uh-uh. None of these kids are going out unless I coach this high school team.
And then now that I've been more acclimated into the community a little bit. I realize there's like eight other dads that have the same fucking idea. Because I keep thinking through the eyes of my dad where he grew up. He played football and got into coaching on accident, and then that became like his thing. Um I realized that now everybody, you know, that I like everybody growing up is, they played soccer.
Yeah. And so I thought I was a special, I still thought we were in the land of. Field fairies and Euro trash, and you know, if I see five white kids playing soccer on the field, it's just a matter of time before a caravan comes up from Panama.
Some equation that they have in their heads. I don't know. Can I tell you something real quick about? I'm going into the Hall of Fame.
So, at Dodger High School, I'm going to the Hall of Fame for soccer. Wow.
Well, hang on a second. Hang on.
So In 2006 when I graduated, I thought, you know what? It'd be really fun just to play more soccer after my career is over and be the girls' high school soccer manager. And I got a message.
Well, two months ago of that A. You're going to go into the Dodger High School Hall of Fame.
Someone's reaching out.
So I said, for what?
Well, the girls' high school soccer team, coaches, and managers are all going into the Hall of Fame.
So I will be a girls' high school. 2006 Hall of Fame manager for Dodgeville. They went state or something? Ha ha ha ha ha ha. In the Hall of Fame, what did you do as a manager?
Just whoop their ass and practice constantly? propelled them to the state championship game. through grit and determination. About it. Are you going to?
By the way, I'm not going. I'm not going. No, I'm not. In good conscience, can't stand there and. Wave the people and say thank you.
It just can't happen. Yeah. Huh? I don't think he really did much. I whip their ass and scrimmage every day.
What do you mean? I got them, I made them better, I propelled them. Anyways, I usually just think of managers. My dad was the coach of the girls, too. And I think his manager was just like.
Some quiet kid who just wanted to stare at, you know, the girls in practice in the short shorts. I just was loud. Hmm. All right. Well, congratulations.
I thought it was a funny story. I'm congratulating you. Thank you, Park. Thank you. You know, I went to the Masonic Temple All-Star Game.
Yeah. What? Tell me more. I have the plaque. It's not a good idea.
I So my s I think I think what happened was I was not a great goalie. But like Weirdly, I had like five really good games.
So I had some really shit games. I don't know how much I want to tell you, but whatever. I'll keep it brief. But I had some games, enough that enough coaches gave me honorable mention. Mm, hell yeah.
That was not conference, no biggie. Yeah. So then there's a All-star game at the end of the year with kids around the state. And they needed one more goalie, and they couldn't find another goalie. No one, everyone was turning them down.
Like they couldn't make it.
So I think what had happened was.
Someone just reached out to my dad that was on the committee and were like, Doesn't your son play goalie? We just need a goalie. Because I was not an all-star. I mean, I wasn't even the best goalie on our team. I made honorable mention.
Well, my dad was a coach. But I played in this game and Everyone knew I didn't belong there. Everyone's like, what the fuck is this kid doing here? Wait, I thought you're going to be like, you're Tim Howard in the World Cup, stopping everything. I didn't make a big save.
I also gave up the game-winning goal. That's okay, it's an all-star game. My dough never sees a freezer. Faye Hollis makes the biscuits at Hardee's. I'm up at 5 a.m.

See terms. Can I ask? Hey, since we're on topic real quick. We're both soccer guys. Go back to when you were playing to where we are now with the World Cup and Team USA.
Have they done anything to grow the game or get any better at all? The USA. Yeah, yeah. I thought we'd be a lot better by now. No, I mean like just just the brand of it.
Um Yeah, the brands. Better is it? I I think there's too much like There's no there's no like We're trying to still do America in a sport that you can't do America. Yeah. Like no other country.
Has college soccer. They have academies. They have academies. No other country has college. We just, our investments are all in the wrong place.
The MLS is just. Like pyramid scheme. Like, who's Clinton Dempsey? Who's D Landon Donovan? Who's Brian McBride?
Who's Captain America or Carlos? Who's Reyna? There's fucking Christian Pulissic who gets hurt if someone sneezes on him. Like, that's America soccer. That's what it is?
Yeah, well, these kids now, I mean, nobody, the kids on that like 94 team. They all like. They were, I watched that documentary. They like went through a terrible boot camp, they had to earn it. They had to earn it after they earned it.
And these kids, you know, they just got babied their way up. Brian McBride had a metal fucking plate in his head. Christian Pulissic. Again.
Someone sneezes on him, the guy's The golden boy, you can't even play it. I I digress. I'm sorry. We're getting you off track. I'm sorry.
We want to stick on shitting on Matt LaFleur. I don't know. Dude, whatever you want to do, whatever you want to. I feel like I strong-armed the conversation. I feel like I bulguarted it.
Bull regarded it. My bad.
So, what the thing we have to do.
So, I hate LeFleur. Yeah. And I've got a mob. You hate LaFleur. And you've got a mob.
We need to combine these mobs. Yeah. We need to. We need to we need to like We got we got okay, we got a problem with the iron side. We need a tea party.
Our way to something. We need to be a faction that. Has a name. That other Packer fans know, like, oh, that's the LaFleur. We need, we need something.
Like a firm in English soccer, like some kind of firm. Let me go and beat asses. Proverbial. Yeah, like, oh, I don't want the LaFleur boys on me. Not that, but.
Ugh. Yeah. I mean, we're ideas, man. We can think of this. You know, we can hash it out.
Maybe we reconvene, you know, the la fraudsters, the But yes, we got to join forces. I agree with this. It's nice to talk to someone who is as passionate about this as I am. What are the I feel like there are less objections. Then there were I think it's a.
I think the main thing where people are here and we're here is they just don't want to be there. It's uncomfortable. It's too much. They don't want to come off as negative. They don't want to come off like they're not a Packer fan.
I think a lot of times people think if they ever say anything critical of the Packers, the ghost of Vince Lombardi is going to come down and like take away all their fucking bad call bricks or whatever they got. In their house, I think they're going to be really. treacherous about it. I think that um We need to get to a point where it's more acceptable. Right now, I do worry, and this is a terrible thing to say.
But I do worry if Matt LaFleur Like, had a heart attack. Um you know, whatever, died. If Matt LaFleur died and you told a friend. They wouldn't be like Oh, that's tragic. They'd be like Well then who are you gonna hire?
Give me one, give me one name. Give me one name. If you can't give me a name, just wheel the casket on the sideline, because who are you gonna fucking hire? Give me one name. And then you do and they're like, oh, you know what?
Well, we'll join forces. You can't tell me who to fire, but you can tell me who to hire. Yeah. And listen, Vince Lombardi is not going to pop out and haunt you if you are anti-MatlaFloor. If anything, we know ghosts for Wisconsin Sports Past are fantastic.
Bob Euchre just wrote another letter. It was blowing. It was beautiful.
So they're nice entities here that haunt us. Vince Lombardi. Please doing that a second time made it less cringe, though, to me. I like that he doubled down on it. He marches to the beat of his own drum.
I still think it's bizarre. Like it's like a Nathan for use kit, but it's. It's Interesting. When Murphy first went last night, he goes, I've got another letter from Yuke. I thought he was just shitting on himself and joking.
No, no. Gonna talk about something else, but then he goes, Hey fellas My favorite is the whole, everyone in the clubhouse, you could tell they're like. Is this happening? Like, is this happening again? And it's just non-stop champagne bottles being popped in the background.
And you can hear one like hit a trash can. It's my favorite part of him reading the letter. Everyone's just like, A fucking second letter, dude. I Jesus Christ. I need to party.
I'm catching behind a couple of Yankees. Yogi Marina. These brewers don't know who Yogi Berra is. Mm-hmm. He even preempts the letter, saying, Some of you who don't know who Bob Euchre is, I'm still going to read the letter.
You don't know who he is. There's only a new movie about him every other fucking week. Let me tell you, he's a wordsmith. He wrote me this letter.
Now, Hank, get Hank the dog. Hank the dog, the fourth fucking clone out there. Let's go, baby. We'll have to talk Brewers' Cubs or Brewers' Playoffs before too long. We got to figure out, though, before.
I go and take a second nap for the day. I already took a nap today. Yep. Why not? The world is your oyster, baby.
I brought my kid home and I was just, I just fucking passed back out. Uh well, did did you work more I know you were You know, we carried you when you were on on our station, right? You were. the late you weren't late late nights right you were the W w were you ever mourning radio? I did it here.
I did it. My path on sports radio was afternoon producer. Yeah. Then This was a time where the guy was. This isn't painful memories, is it?
My whole career is a painful memory. No, it's. Rip it off. Let's hear it. But then I um Produced on the morning show.
That guy left.
So I took over and then, yeah, I did the morning for six years. Yeah. I like, if I'm going to do radio, I'd prefer the morning. Yeah, oh yeah, it's the best. You can just you can be crazy.
I like I like getting it out of the way, but I also like being the one that's first. Yeah, same. It's nice. Just waking up at 4 a.m. sucks, but whatever.
Someone's got to do it. Might as well be me. Nine to one at night is Brutal. I mean, I got laid off, but I don't know that I I think I would have wilted by now. It was, it was just, it was, it was, it's fucking hard.
Dude, when I first started radio, I was working for a rock station, uh, what, 7 p.m. to 4 a.m. That shit was. Fucking brutal, dude. I don't wish that.
I only wish that on Matt LaFleur, no one else.
Well, good for you. You had a time when they hired people at that position at that time. Yeah. Listen, I'm not in the hiring business. I'm in the firing business.
That's radio, baby. They don't hire, they fire. That's a. I'm real. I'm glad that I'm on this podcast life, but I did.
We're on 742 here. We got a lot of episodes in the can. Nice, dude. This is 742? I'm honored.
This is 742. Beautiful. I'm writing this down. Mm-hmm. I'll send you a.
Yeah, I'll get you in the Winkler versus Hall of Fame. I'm going to put it in my scrapbook after this is over. We need to figure out, and maybe this is a homework assignment. For all of our faithful. How do we Merge mobs.
Okay. And how do we Get people on our side. We need branding. And also, we need to make firm plans to January 6th. The pro shop.
Could you imagine? The way people act for me is like if I January 6th, Lambo. Oh, you're just doing it for attention. You just want people to remember you. You're just trying to stay relevant.
Well, yeah, I'm doing a podcast in my basement, asshole. I mean, isn't that what it's all about?
Some guy retweeted a video of mine the other day who's got like three followers. He's like, I can't believe people go out of their way to listen to this. I'm like, dude, you just retweeted the video. Thank you. I appreciate that.
Yes.
I thank you. What'd you write down there? Oh, how do we merge mob and the anti-LaFleur boys? Yeah, I like working working title working title.
Well, uh We'll brainstorm on that. Chat, if you have any ideas, chat. Um Please I haven't even looked at chat. Is that even the thing I can see? There's just people sitting on the floor.
Oh nice. I love these people. Oh there we oh there's chat right there. Yeah, chat. Missed it all.
Chat. You're you're streaming on Twitch, how's that going? Great. It was phenomenal. People find you?
Yeah, just Ebo says E-B-O-S-A-Y-S. It was uh get your plug-in 60 minutes in.
Okay. If you want to find me, you can find me. Ebo says on Twitter, on Twitch, on YouTube. Twitch is great, man. I actually had a partnership with them for a while where they were giving me some good money to do this because they were really trying to get sports off the ground a couple of years ago.
And I ended up getting hooked up with Starter, and Starter sent me like, I got like s eight was eight. Packers starter jackets, two Wisconsin ones. Two brewers ones. And um And like some Zuba's pants. It was fucking pretty cool.
It was pretty cool. It was nice.
Now, I think they're more. I don't know what they're doing now. It's nice though. I don't mind it. How's this going?
Good. Isn't it great? Look at all I got. I got the bike fed promoting a message. We're talking Potto.
I got Dan's Shaney YouTube stream. I'm just in a. My alternative rock station studio. Yeah. Bart, does this there you go?
Speak into it. Good morning, Madison. Welcome to another day here. It's sunny on the east side, 75. We got some deaf leopard coming up on way back Wednesday.
How can we save radio? Let's play the same song we played for the last 30 years. Good. I mean, you want to hear that sometimes. Yeah.
We are going to brainstorm this. You will be back, God willing. Oh, I would love. Hey, thanks for having me, man. I really appreciate it.
It's nice to finally cross paths here. It was a blast. I first told Grant I was going to get you on like two years ago. Yeah, Granded mentioned to me, he's like, Yeah, Bart had said something about that. I'm like, Yeah, have him reach out, man.
I would love to. I would love nothing more. Yeah, I'm a I'm a Bart I'm a fart stinkler lover. And I ride for Bo. I ride for Bo.
Beauregard. Regard, we will be back, Evo. Thank you. Thank you, man. I appreciate you.
Much love. We'll have pics with Horvod tomorrow. Thanks for stopping into the Winklerverse. Mm-hmm.
