It is Monday, the 14th of September. The Green Bay Packers are 0-1. The New York Giants are 1-0. Damn straight. We mentioned the Giants because Giants fan Carlos Ortiz, my, I was gonna say longtime partner.

We worked together and now we're doing this. Carlos is a Giants fan. We'll talk about the Giants. We'll talk about the Packers. Viva la resistance.

Um Continues. Um January 6th. 2027 is a Wednesday. And if the Packers are not going to make the playoffs, they'll have one game left. I am going to January 6th, Lambeau Field, on January 6th.

So I just want people to be aware of that. I started the resistance last night. Um Matt LaFleur needs to be fired. We will get all into that. I want to remind you that we at the Winklerverse have teamed up with the Wisconsin Bike Fed.

Crashes involving people driving and vulnerable users of the road happen a lot more than you would expect, especially in the twilight hours.

WisconsinBikeFed.org. I will get into the Packers in a moment. This is the national perspective. We might as well start off with the Sunday night game. My NFC Super Bowl pick, the Dallas Cowboys, went into the Meadowlands last night.

Did not get their victory. It was the New York Giants, and they looked good doing it. I had a, what I thought was comfortable lead. In a fantasy matchup, I had a good week in fantasy, but my best team. It was in my high school league.

And I lost that game because Jackson Dart came out of nowhere and had a thrilling. Performance. Carlos is a Giants fan. I mean, there might be things you didn't like, but you talk about that another week. This was a win in week one against the Cowboys, and a lot of these guys that had question marks.

They looked good last night. Uh yeah, I mean, this is the first time in like Five years that I can put on a Giants jersey, wake up, and the air is cleaner, smells fresher. It is a great day to have a great day if you're a Giants fan. You can finally be proud of your team. But I think you hit the nail on the head.

There are certainly some things you don't like, but I think that's what makes this win even better. I think both the Cowboys and the Giants, obviously, for Dallas side, could have played much better. And I think they both left things on the table. For the Giants, the John Harbaugh impact was just so immediate. You saw immediately what the identity of this team was going to be.

It's going to be, I hate to use the cliche smash mouth, punch them in the mouth type football. It was bully ball. It was straight up bully ball. The Giants held the Cowboys to two possessions in the second half. It's like their offense could never get going.

If you felt like they couldn't score points, they weren't on the field long enough in order for them to generate momentum.

Now, obviously, it was a one-score game, but the way that the game felt. It really felt like it was dominating, suffocating by the Giants. Really, for all four quarters of it. I mean, I know it's a little bit interesting toward the end, but again. It just felt like the Giants had a stranglehold because The Cowboys could not stop what the Giants were doing.

And that was running the ball. They ran the same play four straight times. Left a flat completely open for Devin Singletary, including that final third down conversion. This was just You could not ask for a better debut if you're a John Harbaugh. You couldn't ask for a better start to a new head coach era in terms of John Harbaugh coming here and changing the culture of the Giants.

And it's a great day. I'm not going to go crazy and go on a limb saying the Super Bowl are busts, like some people have. That's absolutely insane. But I did have the Giants in the mix for that final wild card. Still too early to say that.

But now, with Miles Garrett going to the IR with the Rams and the Rams looking at the Rams are bad. They're not as good as what people thought. Two nose on the table. I don't want to touch the money. But it's it's certainly shaping The Giants will go to SoFi in week two and take on the Rams.

Well, the whole reason for their travel was to not mess up the rest of the season.

So. Based on their travel, they should be ready for you. And that's one of two ways to look at it. Either the Rams are going to be completely angry and pissed off of how they got pushed around by the 49ers. or they're going to continue to get exposed.

And again, with Miles Garrett, that's not being the end of the team right there. Obviously, they still have capable secondary. They have a bunch of players, Puka, Matt Stafford, and all that, but Stafford's old. You know, all of a sudden, oh, and Aaron Donald, he might not be. Devontae is like the most hidden number two receiver in football.

The battle just caught a bunch of red zone passes. That's right. I keep forgetting that he's out there. That's right. Because Devontae was, oh, he was a touchdown merchant last year.

If you, if you had him in fantasy, you knew that his scores just came in bunches, but he never got yards.

So listen, the Rams all of a sudden got old very quickly, and now everyone's jumping off the Rams bandwagon. I'm not close to do that yet. I still think the Rams are one of the best, the three best teams in the NFC. But certainly, I am all locked in for week two than I would have been if the Giants had somehow lost to the Cowboys yesterday. But this is a pretty good weekend of NFL football for everybody except Your guys.

What was that about? Is that a Strahan jersey? It is a 1993 Strahan jersey when he was a rookie.

So, not to spend too much time on this as you're in New York, I'm sure it's been an emotional week. Oh, well, listen, we could talk about Dallas. Good shit on them. I'm at 9-11. Yeah, I mean, I I I I think I'm all nine eleven down.

I was watching the Howard Stern. Like broadcast last night from 9-11. I don't know. I. 25 is really a lot, but so this is a sport, this is a sports thing.

Because I was thinking to myself. How different the world would be if this event did not happen, this tragedy. And It's not even. You can't even. You can't even fathom.

Like you can't even fathom. It's not just like, I was talking to my wife. I was like. We wouldn't be here. And she's like, what do you mean?

I'm like, we wouldn't, I would never have met you. She's like, you don't think it would play out the same? I go, the entire world would be different. There'd be no wars after, well Everything would just be different. Who knows?

We could have put all the war money. into space money. I could be living on the moon. I could begin. AI would have been here already instead of now taking over.

But the reason I bring that up. is because The week two game that year was supposed to be Green Bay at New York. And it got pushed to the last week of the season. And that's the game where Michael Strahan broke the sack record.

So it's a lot of what ifs. Where Brett Favre supposedly took a dive and then gets pressed by. I'm saying if that didn't happen, Brett Favre never gets. Threatened by Mark Gastono. Gastano, that's exactly right.

Like, you owe me my sister. Straighthand, maybe never he, maybe he's not on Good Morning America without this chain of events, which is now a mute point because, you know, TJ Watnall has a record or Garrett does.

So it's like, you know, they're shuffling back and forth.

So that whole Mark Gaston thing was just funny as hell. Anyway, these are the things that I've been thinking of the last week. I've also been thinking of how much support. We've been getting in the Winklerverse. You guys have been great.

Potawatomi is celebrating with us. Right. Quest to 777.

So we're spinning our way by posting these episodes on our way to episode number 777. That is four years of podcasts going on year five. This thing started in 2022 as a landing spot. If I ever lost my job again. Spoiler alert, I lost my job again.

Sure did. This is my job. One of my first, I think it was the first episode because I wasn't sure what was going on and I didn't want to lose my severance. I very clearly said, This is not my job. Yeah.

I'm very clearly now saying, This is what I do for a living, this podcast. And I'm very excited that we're close to 7-7. I want to celebrate that with everybody. We're going to have an event at Potto coming up in a couple, it's probably going to be seven or eight weeks. We're going to try to finalize that.

Number seven. We're going to do a thing where you can watch. Tim Shea and I are going to have you and a guest come and watch us watch the heat bucks in the middle of November.

So we got a lot cooking right now, and I want to thank you all for that. I don't want to spend a million minutes on the Packers. I know people, you know, it's a follow-up from what happened with the Packers. This is also kind of our national look around to things, but a top story we were looking to. Matt LaFleur sucks ass.

Look at this tweet from Rob Reischel. In the last year, the Packers had a 99% chance of winning against the Browns. We remember that game. And the Bears in the regular season, a 96% chance against the Bears in the playoffs, and a 90% chance against the Vikings. If you put those all together, the chances of the Packers ending up losing all four of those games is one in two and a half million.

The odds of that are happening are one and two and a half million. What you are seeing with Matt LaFleur is historic. Unprecedented. You know how we talk about the weather? We talk about the weather and it's like.

Oh my God, it's a hundred year flood and one just happened last year. Yeah, that shit's crazy.

Okay, these are hundred-year losses that LaFleur is stacking on top of themselves. In what is currently a six-game losing streak. Hi, Karamba. And I am a little You know, glass half empty, glass half full, because. I've been railing on LeFleur for a while.

A lot of people are finally seeing what it is I'm seeing. It's not, I think sometimes I talk, and these people think, oh, Bart's just doing a bit. Bart's just going for attention. Bart just wants to zig while others zag. The guy is drunk.

None of that is happening here. None of that is happening here. These are my thoughts. I'm loud about my thoughts, not for attention, but because you guys aren't. focusing on the problem at hand here, which is Matt LaFleur.

A lot of other things that can be corrected with the Green Bay Packers. I'm not saying Matt LaFleur is all the problems. I'm saying Matt LaFleur is a good chunk of the problems, and most of the problems can point back to Matt LaFleur. Glass half full, you finally see it. Glass half empty.

What fucking took you so long? Carlos, they lose to the Bears in the playoffs, blow a lead, and everybody is just so trained around here to think. We'll get him next year. For some fucking reason, and they both with an extension, yeah, they give him an extension, then it's the same exact kind of loss, and now people are like, Oh, I finally see it. What fucking took you so long?

Yeah, that was absolutely inexcusable. I didn't catch the most of the game, I'll be honest, because I was shuffling around. Just PSAs, if there's any ladies in the chat, and I don't want to make this a gender thing, but I will because my wife is obviously a full hair. It's if it's week one of the NFL. Don't book anything.

My wife decided to get tickets for Mets Yankees, the finale of the Subway Series. Like, I give two shits about either team on opening day for NFL weekend, Sunday.

So if any ladies in the chats or if anybody's, you know, a cuck, whatever, you're not allowed to make plans on week one of NFL Sunday.

So I just want to make sure I put that out there. The best time to recommit to your gut health goals? Right now. Take charge of your gut with NatureMade. Our clinically studied ingredients support digestive health.

I was not going to ask, but I didn't go to an end of my CFC game because Rams and 49ers were on.

So, like, no, no, no, no. The world ends when an NFL starts. But. I saw the Packers and the Vikings. I saw the first quarter.

And I'm like, all right, well, this game is over. Like it was single-handedly. I'm like, there's no reason to watch this. I'm like, Kyler Murray has just pulled in Aaron Rodgers. He's done for the game.

Carson Wentz, which we know who he is at this point, is going to come in. All right, if you drafted Justin Jefferson, well, two years in a row, you're fucked. And then when I saw the box score at the end, like when everything was over, I'm like. How the hell did Minnesota score all these points unanswered? And Green Bay level.

So, yeah, I made 22 points. Minnesota had that many in the fourth quarter. And so, like, national perspective, like, that raised a lot of eyebrows. But I think also If you're a Packers fan and you're like, you're supremely disappointed, or you're pissed, and rightfully so, you should be. Also be glad that the Chargers also lost to the Cardinals.

I think the Chargers losing to the Cardinals definitely took a little bit of sting off of you guys. But the manner in which the Green Bay lost. I mean That was my survivor pick. Just kidding. I'm not an idiot.

I took the Raiders. I took the Raiders as well because that was the smart play, baby, because you're not going to use the Raiders the rest of the year. This is where you bang them out. I don't know, but I certainly. I ain't taking the Packers against the fucking Jets.

No, especially since the Jets destroyed Tennessee in the Titans home opener.

So this Packers loss. I mean, I think the Chargers loss is worse. Second year's host of the Browns. That's going to be a popular one. Yeah, but you know, Baker could take a shot.

Niners, Dolphins, Dolphins, a second week out west. They're toast. Yeah, I'll take the Niners in that one. Yeah, no, the Packers loss is extremely bad just because, again, it was a tale of two games. They choked it away.

But I think the Chargers losing to the Cardinals is just slightly worse because the Cardinals should be one of the worst teams in the NFL, and the Chargers had no answer. Yeah. I'm gonna take the Eagles on the road at the Titans. Eagles didn't look that great against the Commanders. Ravens at Saints is going to be popular too, or Ravens hosting Saints.

I would stay away from that one simply because look how the Saints almost made a comeback against the Detroit Lions, where you thought that game was over, and all of a sudden they're going into overtime. You're like, holy shit. Tyler Shook looked like shit for the first, you know, two quarters of the game, and all of a sudden, um, they the Saints couldn't stop scoring.

So I think it's less about, you know, the Lions defense and more about the Saints offense. Actually, you know, Kellen Moore's got them a little bit cooking down there. Um, I would stay away from the Saints completely. I think they're better than what people are thinking, uh, are giving them credit for. Stalis Tom says any reaction to week one is an overreaction.

I would disagree. I would disagree completely. We did talk about that. Last week on my show with Grant and Paul, we talked about. No matter what, you won't overreact to week one.

And one of us said that if the Packers win big, that'd be overreaction because we'd be like, whoa. But I think the fact that this was as similar as every loss that they're currently, remember, they're still in a losing streak. The only game that they've won Were they one and two in the preseason? All I know is that LaFleur, oh, didn't they beat Denver? But we haven't won a meaningless game since the first week of December last year.

The only game LaFleur really got up for was against his brother in a preseason game. His brother won, by the way, in that game against the Chargers. I just don't. See how this can continue. A lot of intersecting things happened at the same time.

There's like, I get that it's annoying that you don't like the coach, whatever. But there's so many things that are happening at once. There's so many things that are happening at once. You had a new president. The coach was on an extension, needed to be.

He was a lame duck. And he was on a five-game losing streak. And it's been a history of: if you didn't have that seven seed, you wouldn't make the playoffs. The percentage that a new president comes in with a coach in this situation, the percentage that he gets fired in that time period is 100. And the Packers changed it.

As I bitch about this, I still bitch about the people that took so long to join my side. Ryan Horvat is one of them. Ryan Horvat joining Ortiz and myself. Yeah. Can you guys hear me?

We hear you good. Are you the channel or what? No, I'm in my apartment. Usually I would join by the computer. I actually just signed on really quick from.

Front of the phone because I have to go and run a couple errands that I forgot about for my wife. That's what happens when you're unemployed, guys, which sucks. Retired. Don't we all know it? Yeah, yeah.

I'm gonna have to come out of retirement if I have more weeks like I did yesterday. The first losing week I ever had week one, it was brutal, man. Um, I had the Carolina Panthers, which looked great until the third quarter started and the Bears became a fucking Madden team and scored. I don't know if I could swear on here, sorry, they scored 60 points.

Well, shut up. I'm just kidding. But they did. Like the Bears, while we're on this podcast, they just scored again. That was maybe the worst bet that I'll ever have.

But I just had to see it to believe it with the Bears defense. I also yesterday had the Colts. That was Lamar Jackson ran for yeah, that was brutal. I did have the Bengals, which ruled. I feel really good about Sensei this year in that defense.

And then uh Even though I knew the smart vet was the Vikings, like I said, Bart. I couldn't do it. I had to bet Green Bay. And I felt really good about it because they killed Kyler Murray in the first quarter, only to lose the Carson Wentz in the Lord's year of 2026, which is never a good start. Luckily, though, I was like, I'm going to bet the Giants and get it all back.

And I did that, and I took Cam Scatabu. First touchdown. I hate to say this because I really want to hate the Giants because every time, like, I feel like. You guys know this. I feel like there's no such thing as sports radio anymore unless it comes from New York.

Like everything is just Jets, Giants, Knicks. You're not like, nobody talks about anything else. Um well not on this show Now the 76ers because LeBron's there. But um But I just kind of like this Giants team, man. I want to hate Jackson Dart, but I like the way that he plays.

And last night, if he can make those kinds of throws. I like them. Yeah, like that's the kind of shit like I kind of hate. But I uh I think like Tracy should never play again, but I actually like what they were doing with the running backs, rotating them, even though Scatterbu looked really good last night. And I think that defense could be really special.

So. I hate to say it, but... You know, if I was like 15, 16 years old and didn't have a dog in the fight, and I was not 15, 16, like 12, 13, I'd be a huge Giants fan because of scanning. Yeah, the Giants are brain rot. They're a brain rot fucking team.

Jackson dark, Scatavu, neighbors is weird. Harbaugh's there. Come on over, God. There's plenty of room. That's my kid.

Yeah, they're like what I hated like growing up, you know, like It was almost, I love the Packers and I love Favre, but the closest thing I had almost to like cheating on them, to having like a mistress team. Was I did love that Tampa Bay Buccaneer team just because Mike Allstadt went to Julia Catholic, where I went to high school, my grandpa coached him. I mean, Warwick Dunn was an absolute stud. And I loved Warren Sapp, you know, even though he killed us.

So that was the closest thing, but I. I get why the kids like the Giants. They're fun. I feel like they're like, you know, that year's Tampa Bay Buccaneers. They're fun.

And the jerseys are cool. You message me that you're with me on La Fleur now. Yeah, I wonder if it's not. Says I have no platform. Hold on.

It is not bullshit because I can't not be against him after the playoffs and against him now. I don't like to just call for people's jobs. I'm not a media critic. I'm not a job. You know what I have noticed?

No one this week has said. Who do you want to fire that he would get hired in another fucking second? Cats out of the bag, no he wouldn't! I never even called for McCarthy to be fired. I said they probably needed to make a change and they need to get like a young offensive mind because, like, Rogers was bad that last year with McCarthy, and they clearly quit on him, and he was getting massages during practice.

But like, I don't like calling for people's jobs except for Brian Goonikins, because I thought that they were two years too early to say goodbye to Rogers. I'm fine with the Jordan Love draft pick if that's what they really wanted to do, because I do think Love is a really good player. Um, but I think like Aaron Rodgers, I'll probably if He wins a Super Bowl, it'll probably only be one on a lucky run because the problem is you got to overcome a bunch of assholes. 11 assholes on the defensive side of the ball every year. Whatever, however, a bunch of fake owners like Bart.

Um, Goudikins, Murphy, whoever's in charge, God bless them. But the last couple of years at Ted, it's so hard. And I think I could fix the Packers. Here's how you do it, right? Oh, yeah.

I usually, I usually, okay, especially with a young quarterback, but love's not a young quarterback anymore. Like, it's time in the next two to three years. 35 years, this is probably his window to win a Super Bowl. I would want an offensive-minded head coach. I would want Ben Johnson.

Right, or Liam Cohen, but I don't think that's what the Packers need because every year, I don't think other than the offensive line, the last two years, pass protection, run blocking has been shit. I feel good about the offense. The problem is, every year. And I'm thinking about it, really, for the last two decades, they get beat by the more physical, tough team. The Giants, those teams were not more physical, they were a lot more physical.

That was the problem with the NASCAR pass rush. Like the Packers that year. They lose one regular season game and the Giants beat them. And I know there was a lot of like off the field shit going on. But that team was just more physical.

They were dogs. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the Packers were better than that team. And I know Bach Diari gets hurt, but they were more physical. The Seahawks, more physical. The Niners, more physical.

The problem with the Packers the last two decades. Great quarterback play, really good skill position players they get lucky with in the third, fourth, fifth round.

Some solid defensive players, but not enough ever. Never enough in the fucking secondary. Let's think about some of these names since they let some of these guys walk. You let Casey Hayward walk. And I'm watching wide receivers play defensive back.

I watched the full season, the team that was good enough to go to the NFC title game, and you got Lidarius Gunther. What was his name? Gunter? Gunther? I'm confused.

You got him fucking covering Julio Jones in his prime in the NFC Championship game. That should never be the case ever. If you have a quarterback like Love, Rogers, Sparrow, it should never be the case. You can even go back to the teams that were. What do we do though, Horvot?

What do we do now?

So here's what you do: here's how you fix the team. I don't know. I know there's a bunch of Brian Goudekin's defenders. I don't like his evaluation. Why does everyone pick on this huge Goody guy, by the way?

And I know that he has hit on some picks, but not enough, in my opinion. I love the trade for Micah Parsons, but the problem is now you gave up draft capital and he's hurt. And I do think Micah's going to come back and be an excellent player, but I do think that he's going to be Micah next year, not this year. And like, I don't want to rush him back to save the season because, like, you're invested too much in the next two to three years. Do you think we should just punt on 2026 already?

No, I don't think. No, I do. It's one week. No, no, no, no. You don't punt.

It's one week. This is another. This is what I said before. Carlos, thanks for hanging out. Oh, I'm good on your show.

This is what I said before. You know how like the weather is so fucked up now that every summer there's a thousand year flood? Mad LaFleur is having a thousand year loss every fucking week. And now, now he is as unfireable as ever before because you just gave him an extension. I'm gonna make one final point, and then I'm gonna let you guys get back to the real football talk because, like, there's five percent of the population that cares about the packers and you guys dream well And, but I'll say this: here's how you fix the Packers.

Usually, like I said, I would want an offensive-minded. That's what I wanted. I wanted LeFloor, I was cool with it.

Now the time might be.

Now might be the time, I should say, to move on. And I think what they need to actually... Is a defensive-minded head coach, right? Like the Seahawks. This fucking promotion.

I don't give a shit. With no, hell no, god, no, we just saw that. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. Like, I know he's more of an offensive-minded guy, but I think they need like a Dan Campbell. And usually, I hate that kind of like rah-rah shit.

But every year for the last two to three decades, when you get beat in the playoffs, which is every year that I've been alive, minus two, when you're the final team standing. You're beat by the you're beat the shit out of it, like by dogs, by like physical dudes. And we're losing with like. You know, vanesses of the world. And, um, The Dean Lowry's of the world.

First off, you've got to draft.

Some killers. And then you got to get some coaches with some sack. Because, again, yesterday, when LaFleur goes with the podium, I feel like he's going to cry. In a locker room of men, like, I hate to be this guy. Nobody wants to see him come in there with that weepy face.

Like in that little, like, whiny voice, you need like a Dan Campbell. You need to be able to do that. What do you think the players say to each other? What do you think the players say to each other about the coach after the game? You know what these guys?

There's no everyone talks about their boss behind their back. There's no way these guys aren't saying, What the fuck, bro? We were up 12, bro. And I'm there's different ways to do it, right? Like McVay is a motivator, but his teams win.

I want a guy like Kyle Shanahan, and again, more of an offensive-minded guy. But the pack, the problem with the Packers every year when they get eliminated, the Packers is their defense is absolute nonsense.

So I think you get a defensive-minded head coach, whoever that is, the next Mike McDonald, whoever. And I think you fight, you get like a young, hot shot, offensive-minded. Obviously, offensive coordinator, you got to be offensive-minded to work with Jordan Love. You know, more pre-stamp motion, the stuff that LaFleur was originally doing. Like I said, I think Jordan Love needs to use his legs.

He's not Jalen Hurts, but more RPO stuff, more creative with the play calling, get guys involved, Matthew Golden more involved. And then you fix the defense, though, and you get tougher somehow. You got to get tougher because every year, man, they're mentally and physically weak. Yesterday, You watch that game, Kevin O'Connell, great coach, Minnesota, three penalties for 15 yards. And some of these were BS, but what was Green Bays?

I tweeted it out, like 13 for over 100 yards that you lose right there.

So. That's on the head coach. I think it's probably time for a change. I think you got to get somebody with some sack. And I think the time to do it, if you don't win the Super Bowl or at least get to the NFC Championship game, I think LaFlore's gotta go as much as I love him.

He'll go to the Rams or the 49ers, hang out with his buddies, but you gotta get somebody that's tough in there because this team. I don't think you win a Super Bowl with LaFlora. I hate to say it. You had a shot, and he took Rodgers off the field to kick a fucking field goal to make a one-possession game and one possession game. Last thing for you, which of the three of us are going to give up on our dream first and go work for American Family Insurance?

Definitely me because I have like three interviews this week. I told my wife.

Okay. I might open up a gym, but that's a conversation for another day.

Well, I'll talk to you on Thursday, right? Thursday for picks. Yeah. Thursday for picks. Fire the floor.

Bye, buddy. Hire oh hire Marcus Freeman. Fireluff or kill goot. And higher freedom. Hire Freeman.

Stalus Tom says Kirk Sidnetti spotted in Green Bay talking to policy. Tom, I would ask you this: let's not like make up shit. Let's not make up shit in the in the chat. Let's not make up shit. That's that's my plea to not make up shit.

Uh any thoughts? Um Horvod is Fired up, but I again I don't I'm like He's the male Annie Agar. How are you a Packers fan and a Cubs fan? Ha ha ha ha. Annie's focused on losing as much weight from his body as possible.

Yeah, just like Annie. Uh Hey. I was going to text you last night. During the Giants game. And because they were up.

They were up 28 to 20 at one point. That was the final. Yeah, it was the final. Yeah. And when they were up.

The Cowboys scored a touchdown. Mr. Field goal because of the penalty. Who cares? But watching that team with no dog in the fight.

I'm like, oh, that's an eight-point lead. They should be good. And then the Packers had a 12-point lead yesterday and I thought, well, they're fucked. Because the game yesterday was the exact kind of game we have been watching. For a long time, but I did not text you.

Because I have realized for a long time, and yesterday I kind of got like. Yeah. I'm going to put my phone down during games. I like to tweet maybe during the games, but then tweet and run. I don't want to get in arguments all day.

And also, my family's got a thread. My friends got a thread. I got other people texting me. There's certain people in my life that. I'm in their life.

But I only get a text when the Packers play. If you could have, you could have texted me, no problem. I wouldn't have seen it. I was locked in on every single one. Yeah, I'm just putting my phone down because I get like, I get nervous.

I, I, I think I'm so fucking cool. About, like, I'm better than this, and I don't, you know, I have sports, I like sports. I just I love I love sports. For how much I bitch about my teams, I really need them to win. Like, I really.

Love them. And I thought, like, it was, oh, I just want my teams to not lose. I need them to win. I want them to win. I want to feel a win.

And as much as I don't like Matt LaFleur, like, I don't like him, I'm also convinced. That he'll never win a Super Bowl. I'm convinced he'll never be back to an NFC championship game. I'm convinced he'll never coach anywhere again after this. But I'm still rooting.

Like, I want people to be like, oh, Bart, you fucking idiot. You were wrong. That'd be great. That's how I felt about Daniel Jones. But I'm not.

Like, do you understand? I just, I'm. I think people see me sitting in my basement crying about LaFleur, like, oh, Bart needs a shtick. Bart needs an angle. Bart's, you know.

Not on the radio. Which no one fucking listens to anyway, but if you're on the radio, it's very important. um but but bart's just trying to he's just trying to like get your attention by bitching a ball of floor he doesn't really mean it i If anything, I mean it more than I'm letting on. Like if anything, I mean it more. There's no part of this guy that's going to win anything anytime ever again.

They saw somebody who was on the staff for that 28-3 Falcons game and hired him. An offensive guy. Which they blew that lead. That is insane.

So. It is all genuine. I wish more people were on it sooner. I wish Ed Policy was on it sooner. But back to what I was saying, I was so.

Invested into that game. And I don't like to think negative during games. I don't like to be like. 22-10. Here we go again.

I don't like to think that. I just like to think. I like to think positive thoughts, which you'd be like, huh? All he does is tweet negative, and he comes on the podcast and he bitches. When I'm watching the game, I'm just telling you, I am so like, come on, let's go.

Third down, Edgar and Cooper got a big sack. I'm like, fuck, there's going to be a penalty. And there was. But I'm so into the game that I would rather. I want to look like I want people to be right about me, even though they're wrong.

I just want the team to fucking win.

So I just need to focus, and I can't deal with all the extra. Stuff. And so I'm going to part my phone down. And also, when the NFL is on, it's not even about the phone. If I didn't have, if like if phones didn't exist.

I would still feel this way. I feel so scattershot. When an NFL game on is on and there's another game on. Not even the Packers, but if there's like that Monday night double aheader. I'm like, I'm a mess.

I need both games. And it's not like I need, I can watch both games at the same time. This is why I get so mad about all these people bitching about red zone. I don't want red zone to be a thing. I want to watch every game in full, but you can't just pick one when there's seven other going on.

And I wonder because I love college football just as much, I love college football. But in college football, I like when there's eight different games going on. That's fun for me. In the NFL, when there's eight different games going on, it is. It is debilitating to me.

I can't breathe. My head's on fire. There's too much. It's just too much information. I love Sunday night football because I can watch one game and then like.

Process everything else that I saw during the day. Maybe now that I don't have to like... I don't have to do 20 hours a week on the NFL, so maybe that relaxes.

So there was a question in there? The question is, do you feel that same way? No, not at all. I know smart guys like two TVs, two quad screens, eight games. I know there is a way to watch them all at the same time.

That's not my concern. My concern is, I want to give all eight games the same focus that I can give that I'm going to give the game tonight. Yeah, not me. You think I'm breaking down fucking Cardinals and Chargers or Raiders and Dolphins? I just love, I love it all.

I love the NFL. I do too, which is why I think it's not just about fantasy and it's not about gambling. It's just about I need to know what's going on. I need to know. I need to know.

Tell me, baby girl, because I need to know. I don't feel that way. I'm actually, I'm all in on red zone, but that's because I have a shorter attention span. You know, I don't. I you call me call me dirty casual, if you will.

I'm good just watching the highlights and just getting the five, six minute condensed game that NFL Network has, and you can just read the story right there or view through it for a couple of minutes on a short form. I'm good. I don't need to watch all four quarters of games of teams I don't give a shit about. But I do like the fact that we still have this communal thing. Which is Sunday night football, Monday night football, even the occasional good Thursday night football.

Because we don't have any more communal experiences, at least when it comes to entertainment. Like people just go binge C or watch TV, TV series on their own time. Like who's who's getting together for CBS Sunday or Monday at 7:30 to watch? I don't know. Fucking murder he wrote.

You know, the murder he wrote. Yes, the reboots of murder. Adam Lansbury. Yeah, exactly. Like, so we don't have any communal experiences short of anything to live sports.

And even live sports now is getting, you know, hidden behind some certain paywalls. You know, if you're a soccer fan, you got to go get Apple TV or whatever.

So, you know, I do appreciate having those standalone games. Like, It felt great knowing that my team was the focus. Of the entire nation.

Well, aren't you Monday night against you? Not that getting their ass be. Yes, we're Monday night against me. They do that a lot. If you're on Monday, you're on Sunday or Thursday or.

A lot of times, when you get a primetime game, you get another primetime game right after.

Well, because they figured, hey, you know what? The Giants will be bad. Let's just get rid of them early. You know, 'cause everybody everyone's got to get two primetime games, but you know, maybe the NFL will reroute a decision. And be like, fuck, we should have put the Giants on Monday night.

You know, week 16. Let me do this. It's um Monday I don't I don't know that we do this every week, but I want to just look at the scores. And Let's tell each other if our thoughts have changed. By the outcome of these games?

On the our thoughts on these teams? Yeah. Or did they want to lose? Sure.

Okay. I I I'll play this.

So I'll just run through quick. Seahawks beat the Patriots. That matchup is so boring to me. It was a forgettable Super Bowl. This game kind of sucked.

Seattle winning with Drew Locke was big. I'm not worried about New England, but also. I just think these I did these teams When they, I don't know, they like play each other and they just like. Suck. Or they're so evenly matched that these are the games you're gonna get.

Well, not even that. It's just like it was really just an ext a continuation of the Super Bowl. Drake May had another multi turnover game and the only time he had that was against Seattle last year.

So it's just the same thing. He made bad decisions. I don't think my opinion of either team changes. If anything, Seattle might get a slight boost. because uh of how well the Drew Locke kept everything together and they were able to you know take care of New England.

But I I had the Patriots missing the playoffs because they were just a byproduct of this of a soft ass schedule last year. And now they actually got to play good teams. And I think the Patriots are going to get their ass handed to him more often than not, especially with AJ Brown potentially missing up to six weeks. He's going to miss a minimum of four. And that was their big, shiny toy for Drake May.

So. Um, yeah, I don't think my opinion changes either one of these teams because I still think Seattle's going to be good. Uh, I don't think Darnold's gonna invest too much time, maybe another week.

So, could potentially seem as early as week three. But Drew Lock, he's a capable backup, no problem. And they still have a Super Bowl winning defense. The Patriots, on the other hand, I don't think they were going to be good to begin with.

So. Yeah. Drive on for both of these guys. Spark guy says he's hanging in this car for 59. He's a busy man and He's got real employment, so I don't want to keep you.

He does have a dollar sign for an S.

So I believe him. I take him seriously. I'll mention that when the Bears put up 59 points against the Panthers, they scored at least 14 points every quarter. Um, there's a lot to love if you're a Bears fan. Caleb looked good.

to great in that game. They had two guys rush over 100 yards. They've got some really good receivers. They've got some really good receivers, I like, you know, Adunze and Burden. And then here comes Khalif Raymond leading the way.

Yeah, seriously. I still think that Bears fans. I think they're a little, they're like, they're reading a little too far ahead. Yeah, they're peacocking up a little bit. But But then in week one they put up fifty nine, so They put up 59, but it was against the Panthers, who they also gave up 37.

Right. And the Panthers, they had, you know, three to four guys already get lost for the season for injury. And Bryce Young is trash. And I don't know what anybody thought the Panthers were going to be. But Seeing them picking the top five in the draft would not surprise anyone.

So, why would we just be surprised that the Bears can hang nearly 60 on them? The Panthers, you know, listen, they're a nothing burger. We can completely skip them. They got into the playoffs by accident. You know, the Falcons should or the Buccaneers should have gotten to the playoffs instead of them.

So the Panthers mean absolutely nothing. The Bears. Ken, I know it's uh, they played a shit team, but it's very impressive. I, as much as I want to kill Bears fans for being little peacocks and chomping at the bit too much there. I think they got a very good squad.

I don't think defensively they're going to be as good as they were last year because a lot of those numbers and metrics were based on turnovers.

So there's going to be a far regression in that department. I think offensively.

Okay, this is what I want. This is my point here. Sparky says teams don't just put up 59, come on. Chicago, I don't want to spend a lot of time on this, but you guys. Are you acting so fucking stupid right now?

You're so focused on the rest of the world. What's happening in Chicago? It's a really good time to be a Chicago sports fan. Unless the Cubs miss the playoffs, which is on the table. No.

What are they back right now? What are they up there? Last time I checked, they were at the second wildcard spot.

So they lost. They're like up two, three?

Something like that, but you guys, Sparky, you know what I'm saying? But the whole thing right there. Chicago. Chicago. If you any you dude, look at this green base sucks.

This is exactly the shit. I'm done commenting. This is the shit. This is the shit. Chicago is the fucking second city.

Chicago is one of the premier American cities. Sure, don't act like it, though. And I'm from acting in a way. where They're like so I don't Look, when people are having a good time. It's not for me to jump in and say, stop having fun.

It's not for me to do that. It affects me though, and I want it to stop affecting me because I don't like that you guys are acting like this is the first time. I know you've been bad for a while, and it's fun. It's fun. It's fun.

Hey, our guy hit 40 homers. Hey, our first-round pick is at the game, and so is our quarterback. All of that is fucking fun and great, but it has happened before. To other teams.

So stop acting like. Like it's it's not also If I was a Chicago fan right now. And I put up 59 points yesterday. The last thing I'm thinking about is that fucking Green Bay Packers. Seriously.

Celebrate the fact that you just put up fifty-nine points. Have fun. The last thing I'm thinking of is the Green Bay Packers. You're so like. Here's what the Bears are doing.

They're in a race and they pass the Packers. And they keep looking back and be like, ah, you're still back there. Oh, you're still back there. They're not focusing on who to pass next. Right.

Like the chicken. They keep looking back and saying, yes, you're still back there. Look at the Packers. The Packers are still back there and they're getting further back. Change your fucking point of view.

Change your target. Leave us alone. We fucking suck.

Okay man. Uh Brandon from Chicago. Remember him? Just wanted to let you all know I'm still alive, and what a great day it is to be alive. Yeah, we're alive too.

On the pod. Not for long though. No. No, yeah, I don't use the money, but What's that? Need some money.

You get a stipend for this. Oh, I meant other other reliable sources of income. I could be paying you more. I also could be paying you less. I fully expect a less any week now.

Um All right, let me just go through quickly. Rams, that loss. I thought the Rams would win big because I thought they did not think they would travel. I was just going to kill the 49ers. Yeah.

And McBay always does well in those situations. Ex, not us this time. See, the Niners, I think the Niners started reading ahead. A few years ago. They already lost guys again to injury.

But now I think this version of the Niners. I like this version of them. I think they are all right. They they get one more receiver hurt and they're gonna fall off again. And Mike Evans is one of those receivers, so.

I think that's the only thing. I think if you play, it was 33-27 Bengals. I think if you play that game 100 times. The Bengals win 50 of those games 33 to 17 to 27. And the Buccaneers win 50 of those games 33 to 27.

It was such a toss. Bucky Irving, by the way, might be a fantasy comeback, darling. Lions held on against the Saints in overtime. Yes. Oh, did the Saints go for two?

Yes, and the Lions stopped them. That's how they won. And I ask that because I actually fell asleep in the last 30 minutes of the early window. I was too overwhelmed. And When I woke up, Carson Wentz was in the game, and Kyler Murray was out.

I missed some of the Packer game. Yeah, I told you I only watched the first quarter, and I was just like, well, no, no Kyla Murio. This game's over. Jets beat the Titans. I'll let you know more about the Jets next week.

Yeah, it was impressive. Packers in town. Packers in town. Yeah. Look out, Green Bay, because the Jets may be a Dark Horse AFC wildcard team.

Ravens beat the Colts. There's another back with three touchdowns. Swift had three touchdowns, right? Yes, DeAndre Swift had three touchdowns, yes. Was one of those receiving though or not?

Don't know. I know he had three total. And a Monungai went off for 110 carries with a touchdown as well. Lamar Jackson looked pretty good. Zay Flower's good until he got hurt.

Yes, that's something to monitor. Aaron Rodgers beat Cooper Rush. In 2026. More like Cooper Rushby. Cooper Rush.

He looked terrible. The Jaguars beat the Browns, I was certain. That they were going to start the season with Deshaun Watson for the last year and a half. Um But now they need to bench him. I think if you were the Packers.

Yes, one week is enough. To fire LaFleur because of what you've seen. Before that, one week is enough to say, all right, fuck it, we're going to go with Shadur. Yeah. Deshaun's no good.

Bills beat the Texans. Better game than I thought. Wasn't it? John Montgomery had a big game in that one. He did.

Raiders win. Dolphins are shit. They're terrible. They suck. Awful.

Sorry to Malik Williams. Although I do finally know who some of her receivers are. I'm like, I didn't know who Chris Bell was before yesterday. I didn't see much of these other late games because I was watching the Packers, but we mentioned the Cardinals beat the Chargers. Uh, Chargers usually, I think, are good for a week one bozo effort.

And then Eagles hung on against the commanders. Eagles don't look good. I know they won, but commanders have no offensive line. The Eagles did not look impressive. They escape to the wind.

Jordan loves in Philly. Jordan Love got uh Sack or blitz on like 79% of the Plays. Ryan Flores, baby. Full send. Chiefs, Broncos, tonight.

Thought on that one? Where is it? Kansas City? It's in Kansas City, but still give me Denver. I will take Denver.

Three and a half. Is Mahomes like 100%? I don't know if he's 100%, but he has been basically gearing up to play for the last two months. He's been adamant about wanting to come back. I think it's important for him.

To kind of reestablish himself within the league. Forget about his team, but I think in the league, he's gotten lost in the shuffle in terms of the quarterback conversation.

So I think Mahomes is very aware of that. and is like really putting on a lot for him to come back and play and play well. Um but because of that, I think he might force him, you know, might throw a mistake in there. And and the Broncos are a really good team. They were a couple plays away from going to the Super Bowl.

So I got like I said, I'll take the Broncos three and a half. I don't even know what the line is, but I would go comfortable with three and a half December. Robert Kraft is in the news because he is banning McElmore from the Ed Sheeran tour that's coming to Lutt Stadium. Who cares? Because.

McIlmore is speaking out against. Genocide and Robert Kraft doesn't like that. Yes. Yes, because we need more fans of Genocide. And we've got a lot.

And then anything else I wanted to mention with you? You don't care about college, right? Um yeah. That's not so. No, you were watching Ohio State, Texas.

I was actually locked in on that game. And I was not. For most of that game, I was just like, I don't see what Archman is. And you know what? Even though I know Texas pulled it off.

I still don't see it with Arch Man in. And I think Steve Sarkeesian is a fucking goof, but Ryan Day, he just completely did a throwback, and they choked that game away. I thought it was a good week, a good Saturday of college games. Oklahoma is absolutely because Michigan's a Fugesy 2-0 team. But yeah, no, I.

If Arch Mannon is the first quarterback in the draft, it's simply just because of his last name, not because of anything he does on the field. See, I'm looking at the college slate this Saturday night. And the big game is LSU o miss. Especially with Lane Kiffin. Right, his return.

But also, Michigan State, Notre Dame's on at the same time. BYU, Colorado State are both undefeated. West Virginia and Virginia, big matchup, both undefeated. And I'm like excited that all those games are on at the same time, but if that was the NFL, I'd go fucking nuts. I just don't like things.

I don't really know what to say to that. I like when there's multiple things going on at once. If you were a reporter at Matt LaFleur's post-game pressure and had one question, what would it be? Oh, great question.

So I think people think my answer might be. Why do you fucking suck, bitch asshole, jerk? Question mark. I wouldn't do that. I would say I would say something to the effect of Oh, Rucker's gonna get killed on Saturday.

Yeah, they're bad. Oregon's terrible. Oregon's another one. Dan Lanning might be the first coach fired. college I would say Matt.

There's been a trend. You guys go up? You don't win the game. When you're in that moment. How much Control, do you feel like you have of the situation?

Or do you feel Like the wheels are coming off, and there's just nothing can you do? In other words, do you still feel like? This game is yours to lose when the comebacks happen? Or do you feel like you're driving a car and? Underwater, and you have no control of it.

Like, what do you feel? What are you thinking? Because we see you go over to the sidelines and look at your notepad. I still think. If Matt LaFleur could freeze time.

If if Mad LaFleur Because here's the problem yesterday. They took points off the board. Everyone's mad about that. They were up 25-10, took points off the board for a fourth and one. But it felt like LaFleur is like, all right, I know based on what I've done in the past, making one score games, one score games.

I'm going to take these. I'm going to try to score a touchdown on this drive.

So he's learned. But then he had a fourth and one, which is really more fourth and one and a half. And he said.

Now what? Like, now I got to call play. Oh, fuck. I knew to take the points off the board, take the five yards, get a fourth and one.

Now I don't know what to fucking do. And I'm stuck.

So like he didn't get that last bit of print out for uh from this matted cheat sheet. Because yeah. I did even seem surprised yesterday. He just seems like.

Well, that was the script. That was the script I was supposed to go with. I don't know. I don't like it either, but what can you do? What can you do?

You can fucking coach your fucking team. Yeah. And the refs three third downs. Flag. That hasn't happened in 26 years.

But that's because you're a fucking pushover coach. You revs know you're not going to challenge them. They don't give a shit. Yeah. Have fun against the Jets this uh Sunday.

I don't know what's going on in baseball. The Brewers clinched. Yeah, most most people are checked out of baseball. I did take an update to look at the wild card standings in the NL. The Cubs and the Phillies are deadlocked at the top spot.

And then you have San Diego right there in the Diamondbacks right behind them. I don't know. I don't want to make this all about the Cubs, but I am worried. I still think they could potentially miss the playoffs. We are brought to you by Happy Place Hem, promo code BART, 25% off each and every order.

Yeah. I will do tonight what I've been doing every night, and that is. Having a very productive day. This is the first thing I did today. Great.

Um, I've already been out on errands and I got to make another errand trip. I forgot my prescription at the Walgreens. Oh my god. And I have mail to send. Yeah, I had trouble finding a mailbox yesterday.

I needed to send mail out too. And I'm like, and it didn't fit in the slot. I don't like this shit. It didn't fit in the slot? Yeah, it didn't fit in the slot.

I had to force it in the slot. You know, like, Throw it in there. Is that a problem you have? Maybe turn it around and try the other way. No, I got I got it in.

I'm saying it was a little more lubrication. Are you trying to put the mail in from the back, Carlos? Just flipping the mail. No, no, traditional mailbox. And it was just, I had to kind of, you know, wiggle it a little bit.

This mailbox isn't into the back. Uh there's no there's only one entrance in this mailbox. No matter how hard you beg. Good old-fashioned American mailbox worth one slot. I'm talking about the butt.

Oh, I was talking about the mailbox. Oh. Promo code BART, 25% off headshot.com. I had one more news item. Oh, was it the U.S.

Open? Because I didn't watch it. I don't know anything about it. Yeah, I don't give a shit.

Someone tried talking to me about it. I'd like zone. I was like. Okay. Bobby says, Why do all the reporters ask pussy questions?

I'll tell you why. I've been a reporter. I've had to interview some people after some very fragile situations. Like that like a loss of loved ones. And you got to be very gentle with them.

And I think that's what the floor presents. LaFleur presents. If you ask me something, I'm very fragile right now. I will start crying. I will have an emotional breakdown in this room, and it will be your fault.

So please handle me with kid gloves. And don't make me cry. And we'll all get out of this together. And that is that. Carlos, good to see you.

Yeah, we're live. One more week chugging along. What is on the rest of the docket for you today? Today, my house is an absolute disaster. I do want to clean it and make it look nice for my wife because.

We had a long weekend of fun, and she deserves to come home to a clean house, considering I don't do shit.

So. I'll be cleaning up and I'll actually do a two-mile run today, one mile to the post office and one mile back. Good weekend of fun. A lot of visits to the post office. Oh, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.

It was actually a very sport event. Oh, the Giants came. I was watching it with my buddy, Sean Morash. And it was like a tale of two Giants fans watching that game. One who was realistic and the other one who was a nervous Nelly.

Was that you? I was not the nervous Nelly. I was actually Already looking ahead to the Rams and thinking 2-0. I see. Yeah.

Fun times had by all.

Well, have a nice day. Sure, you too. I guess I'll see you next week, considering, you know, it won't be working. Did you enjoy your week off? What a, you know, the time off that I had.

I've been so productive. I don't know what to do with myself with all this time. We'll be back on Tuesday with Grant and Paul. Thanks for stopping into the Winklerverse. This is an illusion.
