Hey, it's Ryan Reynolds here for Mint Mobile.
Now, I was looking for fun ways to tell you that Mint's offer of unlimited premium wireless for $15 a month is back.
So I thought it would be fun if we made $15 bills. But it turns out, That's very illegal.
So there goes my big idea for the commercial. Give it a try at mintmobile.com/slash switch. Upfront payment of $45 for three months, $90 for six months, or $180 for a 12-month plan required. $15 per month equivalent to taxes and fees extra. Initial plan term only greater than 50 gigabytes and be slow when network is busy.

Soil offer excludes Alaska and Hawaii. Yay, good morning, everybody. Welcome into the Winklerverse. I'm Bart Winkler. This is the National Perspective Show with Carlos Ortiz.
My I was going to say long time associate, but not really. Feels like it's longer now than when we actually were working.
Well, we've been doing this for half the time as we did our job.
Now, very few shows in comparison. We were cranking up five shows a week I am in Milwaukee. Carlos is in New York. And we take. The national perspective.
Although today we'll probably talk a lot of brewers' cubs. But that's a big national series, I guess. But we wouldn't talk Dodgers Braves, but. whatever. We are on the Dan Shaney YouTube stream.
We are brought to you by Carl's Place and. I would like to give another mention to the Wisconsin Bike Fed.
Now, these guys are teaming up with us. In the month of September, you're going to see different graphics on the screen. You'll hear me talk about them. The three feet, it's the log graphic. Very important.
I have a read here, which I am trying to eventually. Read as natural as possible. Yesterday I kind of read it very reedy. But I'm going to try to do it as natural as possible. Are you ready?
How you doing, Carlos? I'm I'm waiting with bated breath for this read. You get on on your bike much? Or there's a lot of people biking around the city. You probably gotta watch out for them on the street.
Back when I was juggling multiple jobs, I used to take a bike from one job to another job through Midtown Manhattan and try to not get hit by cars. Yeah.
Well, that's very good. And you have to. Did you know? That crashes involving people driving and vulnerable users of the road. This is the time of the year that they're highest in the fall months and the early evening hours.
I did not know that. Yeah, that's why the Wisconsin Bike Fed and I are reminding people driving and people biking. To use their lights. as the daylight hours begin to wane.
So, when you're operating near other users, you need to be aware. You need to slow down. You need to look around, KO. We can all do our part to reduce low-light crashes. All right.
Yeah.
You got to be visible and predictable on the road. that can help everyone get to where they're going safely. Jake Newborn of the Wisconsin Bike Fed will join us tomorrow to talk a little bit more about that. Just how dangerous is it? Look at this chart, my man.
Look at this chart. Data.
So the time of the day that crashes happen the most. are between three and six. Because people are coming home from school, coming home from work. Go into activities. It's happening a lot in the street and at the crosswalk.
Going from one job to another at those hours. Man, I gotta get a job that doesn't let me go travel between three and six. And one of the things I was telling Jake is when I was walking. To the grocery store the other day, somebody came up to me, or someone was on a bike behind me, and I heard the bell. I'm on my phone.
I heard the bell, and someone goes on your right.
So I moved over to the right. He's telling me he's on my right. He didn't say move right. It's very confusing because when I hear my left, I immediately just go left. When I hear on my left, I'm like.
Sam Wilson? You're coming to help me fight Thanos? It's not how it's pronounced.
Okay. Um How you doing? I'm good. I I I I'm good. Um football season is upon us.
I can uh Smell the regular season from here. You can? Yeah.
And I can also smell potential work.
So thank God for the NFL, the gift that keeps on giving, because Lord knows. Do I need it? For all you prospective employers that are watching this, please, I will work for pennies. Is that uh Is that first game in New York or is it in Dallas? It's in New York.
I want to go badly. But one, I'm keeping myself open for potential work. Also, two, it's 550 bucks.
So it's like very. counterintuitive for me to spend that money kind of money on tickets. When I don't have income, but I really, really want to go. It is Cowboys at Giants Sunday night football for all of America. to uh take place and uh one of the fanbases torture.
Uh when they go down 01, whether it's the Cowboys and their Super Bowl expectations. Or the Giants with the new local coaching staff and the feel-good that they have from the offseason. Crashing down after a loss to the Cowboys.
So. I almost had much more rooting interest in that game as. I'm in a fantasy draft with my high school buddies. It's a slow draft. Because we're not able to get all together.
Mm-hmm. It is very difficult as the years wane. We're not able even to get all together on a computer for two hours. Yeah.
Like we can't, 12 people. Cannot find Two hours. to all be on a computer at the same time. Like not even Sunday nights. We can't do it.
So I had the 12th pick. Because your boy won last year. And I've been winning. Whenever I've won this league, it's because I have a great quarterback. I won twice with Peyton and I won with Josh Allen once or twice.
So I met the 12th pick. I grabbed Justin Jefferson. I was going to take Josh Allen at 13. Yeah.
I didn't. Good. Good for you. Then coming back. Josh Allen was gone.
I was gonna take Lamar. And then I didn't. And then I got into round seven. Last pick of the round. Jackson Dart.
I was going to take Dak.
So I would have been, and I love Dak. I love Dak. You do. And I took a guy instead who I do not trust. At all.
Jordan Love. Jaden Daniels. He lasted that long? Yeah.
So I took off. Yeah, no, I can't blame you. I actually can't blame you. That's great. He went after Caleb, he went after Hertz.
Yeah, a league I just had. It was a 10-man cheapie.
Someone just asked me to fucking jump into the last second. Hurts went before Daniels as well. It made no sense. And then I took Jordan Love a few rounds later. Oh, well, I knew you were going to take Love.
But I also um I like I like to have two running backs, and then I'm shit out of luck. If I have one guy get hurt, I'm fucked. Yeah, can we, on that note, also segue to my fantasy team? And I want to make a PSA for all fantasy commissioners out there. You deserve to burn in hell.
if you conduct your draft before the preseason is over. You take Josh Jacobs? Fourth round. Yeah.
Thanks to Caleb Johnson in the last round. Yeah, well, I mean, this, my draft for the 20-year league that I've been in, which is a 12-man league as well. That draft was the Saturday before, as the last preseason games were wrapping up.
So. The news of Josh Jacobs getting suspended and all that shit was literally. a day after the draft. And I was like, are you? Fucking kidding me.
And just the jokes have been completely non-stop.
Now, the reason why the jokes are non-stop is because I got an A-plus grade on my draft.
So they're like, oh, the A curse. It's like the Madden curse. It strikes again. Ha ha ha. I'm still projected to strike.
Or yeah, who likes domestic violence? I don't know. Listen. I now it's my problem. I every year I try to stay away from like long-term injuries or you know these off-the-field issues.
I completely forgot. About Josh Jacobs, you know, reportedly punching or shoving this Instagram thought, you know, to the ground, whatever the case, and breaking her phone. It didn't even occur to me. As soon as I drafted him, I'm just like, I don't know about that pick, but fourth round, why not? Because I loved my first three picks, but I needed a running back.
So Josh Jacobs was there. I'm like, oh. Fuck it, I'll take him. No, I actually think I got running back deft. I got Kushon Junkins from the Browns, the round after that.
I got Jalen Warren from the Steelers. Right now, he might be the RB1. I got him in, I think, in like the seventh or the eighth.
So, like, there are people that I think I could potentially weather the storm. Do you, you, Mr. Packers? Do you think Josh Jacobs actually suits up for this team? And if so, when?
Because I think they might just be better off cutting him at this point. The Josh Jacobs thing is interesting.
So it whatever happened happened in May. Yeah.
And then it felt like it got swept under the rug. It literally just blew up the last two days, which makes me believe that the NFL saw a video. That's the speculation. The Packers say they have not seen a video. Yes.
Brian Gudekins, I think, came out yesterday and said that.
So I don't believe him, though. But this is the thing like this has happened a million times Domestic violence. I don't have to, I'm not, I don't have to be the one to tell you this. Domestic violence or violence of any kind. It's bad.
It's bad. Not what you want. And we know it's bad. But if we hear about it, we're like. Gee, that's bad.
And then if we actually see it, we're like. Oh, put him in jail. Yes. There was no. Why do we have to see it?
Right. Like this, it smells like Ray Rice all over again, where initially you heard about it. Oh, that's not a good look. And then he got, you know, what, two games? Then the video comes out 48 hours later and the NFL is like, oh shit.
Complete egg in the face because everyone's just like he cold cocked her, and that was the end of his career. I hope whatever happened. Is to Josh Jacobs' situation. I'm really hoping it's more toward the earlier scenario where it's like, all right, two games. He doesn't look good.
Maybe you should, you know, obviously keep your hands to yourself. If it turns out to be a ray rise situation, obviously his career deserves to be over. It goes far beyond fantasy at that point, but. We don't we won't know until why do we have to see it because We're nosy. We're a nosy ass society.
And as long as it's not you on tape. You you like a car crash. You can't look away.
So we need to see the video.
Well, and that too, but that also like The video, we need to see it as a human species. We need video is way worse. We need to, we actually need to see something before it affects us. This is true in all areas of life. Except for religion.
We just believe in whatever we want. Oh, not me. It was all set up to sh Make that Observation. I said they swept it under the rug, but it seems like that they were just keeping it safe under the rug, both Brown County and the NFL. I don't think the Packers were surprised by this. But also maybe they were. I mean, trading for what the hell is this, Caleb Johnson?
So. Ben asks, is there actually video of the altercation? I personally don't know. There's a lot of speculation that there is. Yeah, I've heard, you know, through the grapevine, I don't want to say sources because who am I at this point, but I've heard through the grapevine that there's actually his own security camera.
uh got footage of him how do you how how don't know How do you know that? I can't reveal my Sources. As for the listening audience and not the visual, I put air quotes when I said sources. But how do you, how are you? I'm so confused.
I know people. Yeah, it's that New York thing. I legitimately do know people in the league office. What did they tell you, or did you ask them? Yeah.
Were you like their video fam? I texted one buddy who I cannot name in the legal office, and I'm like, Brother, I just drafted Josh Jacobs. How fucked am I? Did he say very fucked? No, he said mildly fucked.
Mildly fucked. But he wouldn't, he didn't, he would not go into specifics. I'm like, you must love your job. What do my fancy? All right.
There you have it, folks. There you have it. If you drafted Josh Jacobs, we are just wondering from a Packers fan standpoint. The Packers are mildly fucked. Worston says, I think it took so long because they had to get a subpoena for the home camera.
Yeah, again, it was his own camera that did him in. Hmm. All this worrying about flock cameras, and it's just cameras that. No, yeah, you sign up for your own subpoenas if you subscribe to ring.com.
Well, pushing that under the rug here, how long is it? Otherwise, I don't know. I think that I think. I think the hope for any Packer fan. is basically November, his court date.
That's what I would think. And I don't think they're gonna cut 'em. And if you're the Packers, it's just like adding a running back at the right. Tell the Home League Fantasy team. Um I think I'm gonna trade him for R.J.
Harvey. I don't know. I don't trust anybody over there. One Denver. Yeah, with Sean Payton, who I despise.
Yeah, and you do despise him. Let me ask you if you think this is cheating. In fantasy. Yeah.
It's funny comment. Rounds Okay. Every league's different. Every league's got its own quirk. Sure does.
We have Gone with the resistance. and eliminated kickers. Funny you mentioned that. We did not yet eliminate defense.
Next year, I think both are gone in one of my leagues.
So I think we are the only league. that keeps one or the other. I I don't know of any other That does that.
So we do draft defense. Mm-hmm. Um I'm just a streaming defense guy. Yeah.
Someone drafted a defense in the 11th round. Yeah, and there's always someone that does it. I'm like, oh my God, the Texans are so good. Or did you see what the Rams did? And Aaron Donalds come out of retirement.
Here's my ninth pick, the Rams. Morons.
So, I don't draft a defense in the draft. You wait for waivers? I drafted Jordan Tyson to IR stash. I have Jordan Tyson as well. I drafted him a little earlier than I care to admit, but.
Sure. And then I'm going to pick up a defense. Yeah.
No, I like that strategy. And he should be ignorant. Because some leagues will make you. Pick every starter. I think ESPN does that.
ESPN does it. Yes. You have to have somebody to fill the roster out. And then they're like, they have position caps too. Like, you can't have more than five running backs or something like that.
Like, if I wanna have 12 scrubs. in one position, then that's my God-given right.
So I can trade these assholes. I actually have seven running backs in one league, but in any case. Um Yeah, I think next year we're going to eliminate both the defense and kickers. In fact, one league has already proposed it. They want to go to a super flex, which is essentially a 2QB league, because why would you flex anything?
I do not like 2QBs. I don't either. Because now you're going to start to see like quarterbacks going the first round, like Josh Allen's going first overall. Like Lamar's going second round, maybe. You know, it gets crazy.
We're brought to you by Happy Play Sam promo codes Bart 25% off each and every order. Gummies. Tinctures. Bombs. Seltzers.

I do have something, I think, political to say. GO! Um So, Apple Maps has changed Lake Ontario to Lake America? Yeah, and depending on where you are in the world, that actually changes. This whole Lake America thing.
Here is my gripe about it. I do have a gripe. Yeah.
I actually don't care. I miss your drops. You were good at it. I was. Once upon a time.
But then also, like It's important on me. To let the drop live. I think too many hosts like to go like. Oh, hey, that hey, is that for you? Yeah, they always remember that!
Gambling, we have to do this. Don't talk about it, just keep going. Keep moving forward. Um I don't understand. Here's the here's the Bart Bart has an issue with Lake America.
I do. But it's not that the president is like. Bye. Like Ontario is like America now. Yeah.
This is so Who cares? We already went through this. Nothing burger. The willingness and eagerness. For everyone to just cock.
Yeah, we've never had A society Cock.
So hard to an administration. Ever.
So Mitch says Trump loves trolling Carney. Fine. Fine. That's weird. From the president.
But Fine. Yeah, I didn't elect a troll in chief. Trump trolls. The whole administration trolls. Heg Seth trolls.
Vance trolls. Everyone trolls. Since when was trolling cool? But we that's fine. We live in a society.
Where we've allowed the presidency of the United States. People are always like, you have to respect the office of the president. Do they?
Okay. I know, I know. But we already know what I do in vote and M. But just the way that businesses willingly, Trump didn't be like, Hey, Tim Apple. I need you to cock.
They're just cooking! Willingly. He's like, I think we should call it Lake America and businesses and Google and everyone just fonts over it. There was a lady on the news here. They interviewed her about a Flock camera.
Okay. They interviewed her. about these security cameras that are just going up everywhere. No one knows why. And she's like I actually like it.
It makes the neighborhood safer. Do you know what was on the hat she was wearing? Don't tread on me! Which is the opposite of what Don't Tread on Me is. Like, they want less government intervention.
But hey, these security cameras are a-okay by me. I just don't even understand. I've been, see, this is a personal effect for me because I've been called a beta. And uh soy boy.
Soy boy. Snowflake. Anything you could ever want. Dirty lib. But yet here I am.
Living my life. And Being my own man. Mitch thinks the trolling's working on me. I mean, I guess if indirectly the trolling causes. Apple, among others, to change the name to It's the same problem.
I'll liken this to sports. It's the same problem I have a lot of times with the way that we talk about the Brewers and the Packers or our favorite team. They don't need PR. You all willingly do it for them. Matt LaFleur gets an extension he doesn't deserve.
Oh, that's good, actually. The Packers did it. It's good. I just. I just don't understand how there's so many people.
Who tells me to stand up for myself and speak for myself? And then I do, and they don't, and I'm the beta bitch boy. I'm the triple B. I don't understand it. Promo code part 25% off.
The Brewers got their ass handed to them in game one. That did not play last night as the Brewers then returned the favor. pretty much equally. Unless you want to count the seven runs hit off Andrew Vaughan's arm. Your thoughts, two games into this series.
Now, you motivated me because I had texted you, we had talked on Monday. And you said Cubs aren't going to make the playoffs. They're not. Not with this bullpen.
So I then said. Fuck it. Because I'm not hyped for this series for a divisional. Like Yeah, they were up eight games. Then it was down to seven, but now it's back up eight.
Yeah, I wasn't either for different reasons.
So I said, let's knock them out of the playoffs. And then everybody got mad at me because Brewers fans got mad at me because I'm a Jinx. Oh, yeah, Jenkson, exactly what I was going to say. And then Cubs fans are like, oh, Brewers fans, they're worried about us. I'm not that Cubs fans, and Cubs fans need a pipe down.
Here's another thing. Georgia is saying Everyone likes trolling you. You're outspoken, so you're set on a higher standard. Hmm. So, do you need to lower your standards?
I don't know. I am viewed on a higher standard. No one will hire me because I'm such a wild card. AKA, I'm the one person with an opinion. AKA, I haven't even applied the job, so I don't know what I'm bitching about.
AKA. Cubs fans are always like, you're always talking about that. I talk about the Cubs when the Brewers are playing the Cubs. You right now. You, Cubs fans, not you.
Actually Carlos with a K. 'Cause I'm a Smart Cubs fan. Cubs fans not only Obsess. About the Brewers, led by your fucking leader, Brett A. Taylor.
Hey, you leave Bleacher report alone. Cubs fans. Cubs fans not only obsessed about the Brewers. You can't leave Green Bay out your mouth. I, for one, welcome the blogthon.
Green Bay sucks. Green base sucks. Yeah, news flash, Green Bay does fucking suck. Yeah, it's too hot. There's nothing else there.
There's nothing there. Green Bay is like If Oshkosh had an NFL team, he'd be like. Why is there an NFL team in this shithole? Yeah.
It's like if San Antonio had a basketball team. Wait a minute.
So that um That bullpen really is shit, huh? It's fucking awful.
Well, it's because you keep using brewery treads.
Well, that and you know, guys that they thought were going to be good are, you know, are trash. You know, Danny Palencia is just completely fucking broken. I don't want to see him. I don't want to, I can't believe that I'm longing for the days of Javier Assad. who I continuously call him ass.
Actually, he was pretty damn good last time he was. I call him an Assad agent. Yeah, that's good too. But yeah, now he's languishing in Iowa, and I'm like waiting for him to be here because Palencia is balls. Everyone that they throw out there is balls.
But this is what happens when you don't make any real bullpen moves at the trade deadline. And you know, you're just hoping on dumb luck. You know, they tried to address the starting position, starting pitching position by getting Clay Holmes, you know, and he's okay. Kevin Gossman is solid, you know, but Edward Cabrera, you know, did you trade it from Miami? He's he fucking stinks.
He cannot be a major league pitcher right now. He's a 4-A pitcher. Porter Hodge was supposed to be one of the linchpins of this bullpen. He was hurt earlier in the year. Cada Horton basically had two games.
Hurt this entire year. Jamison Tyone was one of the guys that they thought they were going to get some opinions out of him. He's been DFA'd. He's now on the Blue Jays, which is essentially a trade for Gossman.
So they counted on so many arms. And it's not just a Cubs problem, but it seems exacerbated when you can't hold a four, five, six-run game. And that's not just a bullpen. Shoto Minaga has given up more homers than anyone in the majors.
So the Cubs have a legitimate pitching problem.
So when we started talking about the series. Like I know you weren't peacocking I was already in defense mode. I'm like, they're not going to make the playoffs because they can't pitch for shit. And their offense comes in spurts.
Okay. I just put up the picture on the Dan Shaney YouTube stream of Craig Council last night. Maybe you don't, maybe you're on the audio, but there is a picture. It was circulating. I'm sure you're my retired great uncle.
Yeah, I said he was writing the HOA. That the neighbor's tree line is over the property line, the neighbor's branch. Craig Council, this is your manager, bud. I don't want, I never wanted him, not for that kind of money. This is your turkey neck great aunt manager.
He looks like your great aunt. When the Yankees, uh, you know, get knocked out in the uh in the wild card round to the Red Sox for some unexplicable reason or the divisional round, however, that's going to shake out and shit. Um, we'll hire Aaron Boone and fire counsel in the offseason. I don't know what kind of father Craig Council is. I assume He is a good father.
Okay. You would hope. I I assume, and I won't speculate otherwise. He took a job to stay close to his family, for goodness sakes. But I do feel like he will be the kind of grandpa that his grandkids are afraid of and never have a true relationship with.
Just based off this one picture. Like, if we could fast forward to the console funeral, which I'm not trying to write as obituary, like, I'm not that guy about it. If we fast forward to this funeral. The grandkids are the ones that are like sitting there like in black. where the surrounding family members are sad.
And they're like, you know, kind of on their phone or just like looking off in the distance. Yeah, all the grandkids are playing in the fucking staging area. Yeah, the ones that are teens are like, oh, can we just go to Carter's already? Culver's sorry and carver's helmet homer.
Okay. Grandpa's dead. Anyway. It literally becomes that Pierce Morgan meme. What's your favorite memory of grandpa?
I don't know. Every time I went to his house, he was doing a crossword or watching golf or drinking a sky. He got a pretty big pool. Did Grampy even know my name? Uh oh.
Did grandpa even know my name? He just knew me as... His daughter's four. Hey, there's another one in the house here. Oh, jeez, how many rug rats you can have coming around?
Which one are you? Kids got name tags. I love when like Jersey numbers. I love how there's There's no in-between with grandparents. Like Grandparents We'll have So I'm thinking about grandparents' toys.
There's no grandparent that has a bunch of toys like you have at your house. But there's no grandparent that has like no toys whatsoever. But it's always like Two puzzles missing fucking pieces. It's one of those. Things where you put your circular rings.
It's just like, they have like five-year-old starter toy kit. Grandparent, like you've had kids, you know what they like to play with. Kids are now coming back to your house. And there's nothing there. And there's nothing to fucking play with.
Nothing. And it was, I had that exacerbated for me because I was the first grandchild.
So there was absolutely nothing but plastic on the couches. Not even animals. I can't. There's not a dog that I can fucking run with. Plastic on the couches is humanity's worst trait.
Oh my God. You want to know what my grandparents did on my mother's side? You know, God rest my grandfather's soul. They were upholsters.
So, not only do they have the plastic on their furniture, they used to put the plastic and the upholstery on other people's furniture. That was their job. They had an upholstery shop on Laramie in Chicago. Like, that's what they did.
So, I grew up. Basically, being around their tools and no toys whatsoever, and no cousins as of yet. My second. The my next cousin is like 10 years younger than me.
Now I will have like close to 30 fucking cousins. Thirty. Oh, because I have seven like seven aunts and uncles and now they all have like multiple kids each. But they're all so young.
So they get all the toys, they get all the fun. I was the fucking experiment that came in first. I was the experiment. I'm your youngest cousin. My youngest cousin might be five.
You're 40. Forty-one. How do you have? Five-year-old cousin?
So, all my aunts and uncles, and my mother, they all had kids relatively young. My mom was the first one to have a kid. She had me when she was 19.
So You know, they're, they're all now, they're all starting to get into their fucking 30s and 40s. Like, okay, let's pop up some kids.
So Cousins out the woodworks. I have cousins I haven't even met yet. I've got cousins. They're kids I haven't met. No, I have legitimate cousins that are like One's named Jolie.
I might be giving her an extra year. She might actually be four. But she's a young, young child. It's weird.
So we had our kid. I was 35. When he was born? And I feel like of people I graduated with. They either had kids like right away.
Yeah, right away. Like, oops. Or, like me, that don't have kids, or it's like oops, or We settle down, we start a family, let's go. And then That probably happened for about five years.
So there's like no none in the middle.
So everyone I know that has kids is pretty much either like 15 or 5. Yes. Because if you didn't have kids at 25, you waited until 35. Yeah.
So the girl I dated in high school has like Kids in her 20s. That's fucking ridiculous. I couldn't even imagine. Yeah.
I've been a 20 year old kid, a kid's seven, and I'm like. You're old as fuck, dude. Yeah, I'm a more sure. My first ex-girlfriend, her kid must be, it must have just turned like. 18 and 19 right now.
It's ridiculous. I've been with my wife. for we're going on 17 years. And that first relationship I had was about. three years before her, so her kid.
might be like 18, 19. If you do the math, because she wanted to get knocked up with some guy right after me. We were dating when we were. A team.
So to imagine there are 20 year old adults. walking this earth. That uh that were conceived right after meeting me. And uh that that that uh Stayed in the same, let's say, apartment as you. Yeah.
Okay. Robert says he is a 20-year-old and a three-year-old. What a gap. It's like having it, even though they're both your kids, it's like having a child. and a grandchild.
But they're both yours. Seventeen year gap is wild. I have a uh One year gap with my brother. Then it skips. I think my s next sister is like...
Five or six years younger than me. Then I have one that's 10 years younger than me. Then I have a brother that's 10 or 11. And then I have another brother that is 15, 16 years younger than me.
So I'm the oldest at 41, youngest just turned 20. How many do you have? How many siblings? I have six. I have three brothers and three sisters.
My family tree looks like an ex.
So my parents are here. They converge me. Where the X like meets and then there's the three kids on each side So you are the spot, huh? Yes, I'm the spot on the X. I'm the only common denominator between my parents' families.
In the time since you told me that, I was going to tell you a story. It started with: I just got a text. I have since determined that the story is no good.
Okay. So you will not be hearing about my text. No, I actually insist on it. You will be hearing about The new item I've added to the Winklerverse shop.
Socks. Those are actually pretty gnarly. I actually really, I really dig those. Do you want a pair? Send me those socks.
You have my address. I'm not, I'm a big, I'm a big sock person. I need it again. Do you want a hat? Yeah, wait, who promised me a tank top?
Where the hell is my goddamn tank top? Oh, the tank top's in green. Do you want a different color? What's the other colour? I can give you, I can make, I can just put a new item up.
No, you know what? No, give it to me in green. If it's the same green as the socks. Yeah.
Yeah, because then I could just walk around the house with a tank top and the socks and nothing else, not even underwear. We also made Winkler versus penis pouches. No, I I think my wife would prefer to see the whole package. It's so that you can walk around bare assed and cover your penis, but have your ass and balls hang out. No, for that, I'd just let them be free.
Just what wa what do I look like walking around with a with a What a shaft. You don't want the penis pouch? I think I'll refrain from the penis pouch. Give me a. The Astless chaps were a good idea, but I could just wear nothing.
Give me the tank top and the socks. Nothing else. Whenever I need to cover my penis, I just put a band-aid over my skin. Yeah, I uh I go get the um I'll get the tire sleeve for my bike. use that.
Wrap it around. My nickname in high school is actually Big Dick Bart because of my micro penis. It was ironic. It has one of those names. It's like little, like Lil Jim.
He's 6'3. Yeah, I actually did have a name for my penis growing up. I called it Roger the Dodger as I practiced abstinence.
So you you avoided the draft error? didn't serve in NAM. I did not serve at NOM. Or Michelle. Or Julie.
Uh mini one. Until I was older than your mom when she had you. Let's go! Oh man, this stream sucks. NFL.
Yeah.
So I've got an NFL gripe I'd like to share. When did we all decide that the Rams are winning the Super Bowl? Uh, once they got Miles Garrett. I'm not into it. If you asked NFL fans.
$1,000, you get $1,000. You bet nothing. Rams are the field. I think at least 20% are taking the Rams. Yeah, I think so too.
But yeah, and you got to go with the field for a thousand bucks.
Now, million dollars, you go with the field because. Yeah, you're playing the odds. Yeah, but for a thousand bucks. For a hundred? For ten, for ten.
For 10, I'm taking the Rams. That's bullshit. Chicken Rams for 10 bucks. Yeah.
Do you hear that? That sound, right? That means that summer's officially here. It means that grown adults just sprint into the street for a frozen dessert shaped like a cartoon. But this summer, Mint Mobile has a better treat.
Every plan, including Unlimited, is $15 a month. And unlike ice cream, it won't drip down your wrist or look nothing like the picture. Does anyone have any cash? Give it a try at mintmobile.com/slash switch. Upfront payment of $45 for three months, $90 for six months, or $180 for callback plan required.
$15 per month equivalent to taxes and fees extra. New customer offer for initial plan terminally greater than 50 gigabytes meet slow when network is busy. See terms. When she said I don't dance now, I make money moves, that was a mission statement for a whole new generation. Respect, but that's not the Mount Rushmore.
Listen, cash rules everything around me. When that line dropped, it changed the whole hustle. The greatest tracks are never finished. They're just debated forever. Introducing the Sprite Living Tracklist, 50 tracks that shape the culture from six decades of hip-hop.
Scan the QR code on a Sprite or Sprite Zero Sugar to see the full breakdown. Obey your thirst. Sprite. I d I like see I've noticed. That a lot of what I Argue against.
Isn't And I don't know if this is a weakness or a flaw. If I ever get a job interview again and they ask me for my weakness. I would say this is a thing I do that I've noticed. I don't know if it's a weakness or not. And my weakness being is I care too much about my work.
I've done one of those things where you take a strength and you put it like a weakness. I mean, you know what? I'm actually, I think I'm too dependable. I can't say no, you know, and that gets me in hot water sometimes. I have to carry the awards I've won in my life in two boxes.
Yeah.
You know? My weakness is, I'm so popular that when I take my family out to dinner or to ball games. I don't spend as much time with them as I was like because I'm busy taking pictures and signing autographs. But the thing I've noticed is I argue in like Like Matt Stafford is this is the thing I did with Brock Purdy. I said Brock Purdy's good.
But he's not great.
So I'm not arguing good. I'm just arguing how good you think he is. And I don't know. I don't know if that's interesting. I don't know if that's a thing.
Because, Matt, my problem with the Rams is everyone's anointed them. I think they're good, but I don't think they're great. No, see, I think this is just. This is what happens when you remember the result, but don't remember the journey. I mean, dude, the Rams should have beaten the Seahawks.
Like they were, they were this close to getting to the Super Bowl representing the NFC, and they would have mollywopped the Patriots. In fact, the last comment here: MC05. Didn't the Seahawks just win the Super Bowl? Yeah, they did. And that's because they survived the Rams.
You know, the Rams are already a borderline great team. They are a great team. At the very least, their defense is going to be great, damn near elite. They got the corners from the Chiefs and McDuffie.
So it's not even just their pass rush. Dude, Aaron Donald, did you imagine how much? Free Aaron Donald's going to be able to play this year. And this, you know, with Miles Garrett lining up on the edge, like they're going to. Feed families if you picked up the Rams defense for fantasy.
Although I will say this, since we're talking about the Rams. I think I've developed a borderline non-media admiration kind of crush for Kyle Brandt. Because he brought this up to my attention, I know you're like, you know, oh, Kyle Brandon, he's just another guy. I just, these good morning football guys, I don't. I don't think what you're going to say.
He pointed out the Rams have 11 captains. That's obnoxious as fuck. 11 captains. That is such a Kyle Brand thing to point out. But he did a great job of it.
I think he's entertaining him. I think he's way, I think he's way more entertaining than Peter Schrager. No, just now he's got his own show, which I had to get nine fucking emails about today. Yeah, I think that summer where they like. Hyped up.
That they were moving to LA. And then like half the show left three months after anyway.
Well, yeah, because like because half of those guys are East Coast guys, that's why Schrager's at ESPN. And I don't like, I don't like. When I don't think announcers on T V You are, I feel like if you're calling a game. In the NFL, there's two examples in the NFL. If you're calling a game in the NFL.
You are Royalty. 20 million people at least are watching you. You're going to be on highlights that live throughout time. You don't need to bother your attention to anyone else. Or like Try to impress anybody else.
We are all watching you.
So, when somebody has a good run, and now they go angry runs, Kyle Brent will like that. And it's not like they're on NFL network doing themselves a Favor they're on like CBS just wanting to be like Kyle Brandt or Hey, uh that's a great punt. I bet Mac if he likes that punt. McAfee. hasn't talked about a punt in ten fucking years.
You almost was a punter, but it's not like his show is punts of the week. He don't give a fuck.
So why are we always placating? And now I bought a pack of Topps cards. Kyle Brant's got his own fucking card section. Oh, is he really? It's like Angry Runs, Kyle Brand.
And I think I don't like, but I may have to learn from this. I don't like when people just decide they are somebody. And everyone goes along with it. Kyle Brandt and Peter Schrager just decided that they're NFL top experts. And everyone's like, yep.
Pat McAfee just decided he owns ESPN, and ESPN is just like, yep. Trump just decided it's Lake America. And everyone's like, yep. I decide I will. Jason Barrett just decided he's the king of all fucking sports radio.
Yep. We just people just decide these things and we're all just like sure There's no test, there's no qualification, there's no interview.
So, why am I still poor? Yeah.
So why don't I just decide that I am the foreboding expert on sports in Wisconsin? I'm just going to decide it right now. Yup. I'm part of the everybody. Yep.
Yeah.
Why do I need... a fucking signal to justify Who I am. I'm Bart Winkler. Yeah.
You come into the Winklerverse, that is a privilege. That is an honor. Mm-hmm. Okay. People should be Fighting wars in parking lots.
to come and bleed with me here. Uh Not Hey, Mike Heller, do you want to do something fun? A home and home?
Well, I'm Disney do.
Okay, fuck you. Just tell me to fuck off. Just tell me to fuck off. Just tell me the fuck off. I can take it.
I'm a big boy. I can't. I I d I don't deal with rejection well. I've got exciting face news. My eye skin tag is going away.
Yeah, it was really bad for a while. That's gross. Let me get a full screen here. Yeah, like some days it was so bad I couldn't even focus on myself. Snap plays.
It was bad. I got one other thing I want to mention, then I'll free you from this prison. Oh, thank God because my computer's not taking it anymore. I actually have two. Stan Cronke now owns the Angels.
Yep. He owns way too many things. Yeah, Nuggets, Rams. Rams, Nuggets, Avalanche, Raptors, Mammoth, Arsenal. Wait, he owns the Raptors too?
Rapids. Oh, rapids.
Okay. I was like, what? MLS. Yeah, no, no, I got you. I don't think this can be a bad thing.
I know that he's like rich and rich people and whatever. And At least you got somebody that's owning the angels that cares. Yeah, it's not Artie Marino. I saw a meme or a post, whatever the case may be, that there was a guy that's just like, he posted, I will never buy season tickets as long as Artie Moreno is the owner. And then the sales rep immediately fucking emails the guy.
Dear such and such already officially sold the team. Are you interested in tickets now? They had Puhols there longer than he was a Cardinal. No one will remember him as an angel. They had Anthony Rendone, the worst contract in maybe baseball history, if not one's top five.
Their manager this year is going to get not even fired because Kurt Suzuki signed a one-year deal. I didn't even know he was still the manager. to be the manager.
So I think if you're an Angels fan. I think you're happy. But it's, you're still looking at a turnaround here. Like, I. Who's the Angels' best player?
And I'm someone who follows baseball. I don't know who they are.
Well, you do know. Other than trout. Because Trout should have left long ago. I don't know who's still there. Is Joe Adele still there?
I don't actually, you know, I think he is. Let's, let's, let's go, let's pull up the Angels Rusher right now. No, they traded him. Angels Ross. He's okay.
Yeah, he was supposed to be, he's a young kid. Uh let's see. Reed Detmers is still there. Grayson Rodriguez, who they got from the Orioles. You say Kajuki?
How did I say it that one time? I think that's how you said it. Vaughn Grisham's on this team. Yeah, he was a nice prospect for a while. Yeah, Jose Siri.
Oh, Joe Adell got traded to Cleveland. Cleveland. Travis Darnod is still in the majors. Their whole team is for Travis Darneau's Jose Ciri. Did mention him.
He's Travis Darneau. Tyler Heinemann Yeah. Yeah, somebody's got oh, they got Moises B uh Belisteros from the Cubs. They have a guy named Walbert. Whole Walbert?
Walbert Urena Oh, yeah, yeah, the pitcher. I I think he I I think he's still on the IL actually. All right, and then the other thing I wanted to mention: big news out of Lambeau Field. Saturday, February 20th. Oh Johan Makada's still on that team.
Ohio State. At Wisconsin women's hockey. Michigan at Wisconsin men's hockey. I got nothing on that. Both at Lambo.
Frozen Tundra. The Frozen Tundra lived up to its name today as two hockey programs took the ice at Lambeau Field. We go now to team coverage. Here's Bart Winkler live. Hey, thanks, Jim.
Yeah, this is a great opportunity. We heard of the ice bowl, but now it's a bowl filled with ice. The Badgers got off the bus a couple of hours ago. Yeah, yeah. Was there anything else pertinent that I wanted to share on a national perspective?
I suppose we can preview the NFL next week. Yeah, yeah, there's no reason to rush into that. We're not going to have. Yeah, we're not going to have an FL preseason to talk about. That's over.
I mean college football is on Saturday, but You put a gun in my head. Other than like the big L S U game, I have no idea who else is playing. Let's see what else is on ESPN.com. Tiger driver's license has been suspended for five years. That's a non-story.
I don't give a shit. Penn State is opening a Joe Paternal Museum. Really? Kyle Van Neu has signed with the Vikings. Don't care.
Kaepernick says he likes watching football, but only college. That's his prerogative. Check out the Sports Center made just for you. Oh, it's that's AI stuff. Yeah, Spotify.
I fucking opened Spotify. And the guy goes. Hello, Bart. You are about to hear music that you like, including... W-W-E, because that's on my kid list of things.
So, the first song I played on my curated playlist was. MJF when he MJF when he matched up with Adam Cole. You know it's all about the boom! Adam Cole, baby. How about the new day in AEW?
I actually did not see that. You know what? I probably should have put two and two together when I saw a good buddy, EJ Stewart. He tweeted that Kofi got a mustache.
So I was like, okay, that's why he talked about Kofi. Yeah.
Yeah, it's just Kofi now, not Kofi Kingston. Oh, good. If you know remember when he was Jamaican? Hey, what happened to your accent? Aren't you supposed to be Jamaican?
Do you remember the night on Raw where Kofi Kingston Damage Randy Orton's car. I remember, you know, they had a good little feud there. That was his mini breakout. Yeah, it was like the first time they elevated Kofi. Yeah, he had the double leg drop off of the.
Off of the fan section into a table. Like, yeah, that was a good little feud right there. Leading up to Kofi Mania. That's right. It's good shit.
We watched Penta versus Ray Phoenix the other day. Ray's got a, or Penta's got a chance against Roman Reigns next year. Are we the same guy? Panters. They're brothers.
But they're basically the same dude. They all wear masks. I can't tell the difference. Except Penta's got a cool walk. Mm-hmm.
Yeah, we've started to, we know the difference. We watch so much. Yeah, I think that's a good one. Oh yeah, where he needed the trampoline in order to jump into the ring. Typically, when the Winklerverse gets into wrestling content, it's time to go.
Carlos Ortiz, I'd ask where people can find you, but you ain't working. Keep up the good. And uh we'll talk to you soon. Anything else you want to say to the verse? Uh yeah, see you.
Socks? Yeah, done deal.
So I'll text my address. Thank you for stopping into the Winklerverse. Go, Cubs.
Okay.
