Greetings, friends and new listeners. Welcome to the Archie Hardy Ministries program.

I'm Sharon Ottz thanking you for joining us today because we know faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. Today's teaching by my father, Brother Hardy, is exciting and informative so make sure you get each episode of this outstanding exposition on the gifts of the Spirit. Okay, faith.

Oh, I like this one. What a mighty gift. Out of all of the power gifts, faith is the greatest. Wisdom is the greatest of the revelation. Faith is the greatest of the power gifts because all of them work, like I said, according to the measure of your faith. What is faith? In your syllabus it says faith is that supernatural surge of confidence which the Spirit causes to arise within a person in a particular situation of need or challenge which gives him an utter certainty and assurance that God is about to act through a word or an action to miraculously supply the need and give the victory.

Boy, that's a mouthful, isn't it? It's a supernatural surge that comes on you. When that surge comes on you, when that gift is activated and comes on you, you know that God is going to do what is needed in that situation.

I'd rather have God to anoint the gift of faith in the healing lines than the gift of healing and miracles because it takes their faith to pull it out, healing and miracles, but not when he anoints the gift of faith in you. You get whatever you say. How many say, Amen?

You get it. Is that right? Jesus said, If thou have faith ... Well, let's start. Well, that's two verses.

I think I've got the one in here. And Jesus said unto them, this is Matthew 1720, when the disciples asked him, How couldn't they deliver that boy? He said, Because of your unbelief. For verily I say unto you, if you have faith as a grain of mustard seed, you shall say, mark that, unto this mountain, remove hence to yonder, and it shall remove, and nothing shall be impossible unto you. When that gift of faith comes on you, whatever you say is going to happen. And there is no limitation, no anything. He said, All things are fine.

Whenever that comes on, whatever you say. How many say, Amen? The companion scripture is in Mark 11, 22 and 23. And Jesus answered and said unto them, Have faith in God. For truly I say unto you, that whosoever shall say unto this mountain, and he pointed to one there, Be thou removed, be thou cast in the sea, and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass, and he shall have whatsoever he saith.

Is that a mouthful? How many say, Amen? When that surge of faith comes on you, whatever you say is going to come to pass. Whatever you ask, you're going to have.

Now that brings me to this point. The faith usually, usually is manifested by the spoken word. The gift of faith usually is manifested by the spoken word. Notice when I told you say, ask, how many say, Amen? When that gift of faith comes on you, you speak the word and it happens. You ask God and it happens.

You command and it happens. Now with a mountain moves, it's a miracle produced by faith. How many say, Amen? Remember the centurion came to Jesus, said his servant was sick, but he said unto Jesus, you don't have to come into my house. I'm a man under authority. I got the authority of Rome and I got faith in that authority and I say unto one come and he cometh and another go and he goeth. I recognize you have the authority of God and you have faith in that authority and all you've got to do is say, my servant is here.

All you have to do is what? Speak the word. It's the spoken word of faith. It'll come on you. I know sometimes in the healing line it'll just come on me and I speak that thing rather than lay the hand on. In fact, most of the time when I'm casting out devils it will be the word of faith.

These signs shall follow them at what? Faith. How many say, Amen? Faith. You command the devil.

He sent his word and he what? Cast out the devil and go on and heal. The spoken word of faith, it'll just come on you. How many say, Amen? You begin to pray and all of a sudden a surge of faith come on you and say, I believe it God.

It's done. You healed them. You delivered them. You supplied their need.

You broke the oak and you just get up knowing you're just waiting for the phone to ring for them to answer and say, hey, a miracle happened. How many say, Amen? The gift of faith is usually manifested by the spoken word.

Listen to this. 2 Corinthians 4, 13. We having Paul speaking, we having the same spirit of faith according as written, I believe and therefore have I spoken. We also believe and therefore we what? Speak the word of faith.

How many say, Amen? Let's take Joshua. Joshua 10, 12, and 13. They were whipping the enemy.

It got twilight. The sun was about to go down and been dark and if they did, then the enemy could have snuck away and regrouped and counter-attacked. But what did he do? Huh? Then spake Joshua to the Lord in the day when the Lord delivered up the Amorites before the children of Israel and he said in the sight of Israel, he spoke to the Lord, God gave him a surge of faith and then he spoke in the sight of Israel and said what? Son, stand still in Gibeon. Then he pointed to the moon and said, thou moon in the valley of Agelon.

And what was the result? Because he had that miracle surge of faith. That gift came into operation. Huh? That miracle surge of faith come into him that gave him the assurance he began to speak the word of faith. Huh? And what does the word say? And the sun stood still and the moon stayed until the people had avenged themselves upon their enemy. Is it not written in the book of Jasher? So the sun stood still in the midst of the heavens and haste not to go down about a whole day.

Huh? It was the gift of faith manifesting in the spoken word. How many say amen? Centurion said, speak the word. God said, Jesus said to his disciples, have that faith of God and speak to your mountain. Have that faith of God and when you pray, believe that you got it. How many of you need to speak to your need? Father, I ask you in the name of Jesus, give me a surge of your miracle faith. I speak to my need.

I say it's pain. I speak to that demon and I command him to lose his hope on my loved one. I speak to that sickness. I speak to that cancer. I command it to wither and die and leave this body. I command these infirm spirits to go.

Man, I'm getting excited here. I felt the surge of faith. I wasn't directing anybody special but I believe everyone went out of the building. And when that gift of faith come on him, he said moon sit still, sun sit still and it happened. How many say amen?

How many say amen? Brother, Jesus said get in that prayer closet and that's what Peter did. He got down on his knees. He got his faith built up. The surge of faith come on him and he got up and what did he say? Did he pray for Tabitha? Did he pray for her?

What did he say? Damn shall I say unto thee arise? And she that was dead woke up from the dead and he grabbed her by the hand and took her all out and said why are you all weeping? She's okay. Didn't Jesus say that when he come to the tomb of Lazarus?

What are you weeping for? He's not dead. He's sleeping and they scorned him.

He said no. He told his disciples back there. He said I'm glad I wasn't there but I'm going to go and wake him up. He slept long enough.

How many say amen? He was sleeping four days. I'll tell you what, that's enough sleep for anybody four days. I mean Rip Rand Winkle didn't have to sleep all them years.

Four days is good enough. How many say amen? And what happened? Peter spoke to God. Surge of faith come into operation and he spoke the word of faith and a miracle happened.

It takes a miracle to raise the dead but it was a miracle activated by the gift of faith and here is Tabitha raised from the dead and he brings her out and everybody's happy and they have a revival. How many say amen? Faith is that main gift.

Not only is it the best, the head, the chief of the five power gifts but it's one of the greatest gifts of all. How many say amen? That faith and we need to fill our mind with all the miracles of God. We need to fill our mind with the blood of God.

How many say amen? You're having a battle with the devil with sickness or disease or demon power. You need to read Matthew, Mark and Luke, Matthew, Mark and Luke, Matthew, Mark and Luke and then throw in Acts and read Acts, Matthew, Mark and Luke and read Acts and Luke and Mark and Matthew and keep feeding yourself where all the miracles.

Get Mark start off. He starts off right away with miracles until you get that word of faith in you and then that thing will produce a surge of faith and you can speak up to the mountain. Get out of the way mountain. Here I come.

Ready or not, here I come. If you ain't out of the way, I'm kicking you out. Devil, I speak to you.

Come out in the name of Jesus. Sickness I command you to be gone. Bills, I command you to be paid.

This thing works. That's why I pray. Man, when that surge of faith comes on me, I try to get them all in like that man trying to lay on a couple hands for the healing. How many say amen? Hallelujah.

So it only comes in a surge when you need it. Did God promise to supply all of our needs? Don't you think he'll supply us that surge of faith when we need it?

When you get in that tight spot, then get on your knees and pray. It didn't say what Peter prayed for. I'm sure he said, Lord, let it be activated.

Huh? It didn't say what Joshua, did it say that? I read it to you. He said, then speak Joshua to the Lord in that day. But it didn't say what he spoke. But I believe he was saying, activate that faith. And God said, I activate the faith and whatever you say this day is going to happen. When that gift comes into operation, God says, whatever you say is going to happen. How many say amen? That man shall have whatsoever he sayeth. Did he say it?

I better read it again. Mark 11, 22 and 23. I love these scriptures. I use them for healing.

I use them for every need. And Jesus answered and said unto them, have faith in God. You're invoking God's power. Can God fail?

Is he weak? Is there anything impossible to him? How many say amen? We're invoking God's power. He give us the right and privilege to do that. Whatsoever you ask the father in my name, he'll give it to you.

Did he say it? Whatsoever you ask me, that will I do that the father may be glorified the son. Jesus, father, give me that surge of faith. Jesus, when the surge of faith comes, I'm going to speak to my mountain. I'm going to speak to the devil. I'm going to speak to disease. I'm going to speak to my bill. I'm going to speak to the sickness. How many say amen?

I'm going to speak and you said you'd do it. In the name of Jesus, mountain get out of the way. In the name of Jesus, devil be gone. In the name of Jesus, sickness be healed. In the name of Jesus, bill be paid. In the name of Jesus, thank you for a miracle car.

Thank you for a miracle house. In the mighty name of Jesus. Now the main thing is to remember these only come when there is a need and then it comes for that specific need and after you deliver that gift that God gives you, whether it's the word of words, the word of knowledge, surge of faith, healing, miracles, prophecy, discerning of spirits, then once you give it, you no longer have it. It's no longer yours. You gave it and you don't have it anymore until God gives you the next one.

How many say amen? These nine gifts work in the services. They are manifestations of what? Not gifts but of the Spirit that He's in the midst. Here to crush the devil, to deliver souls, to heal and deliver and build up saints, to lift up Jesus, to advance the kingdom and edify the church.

How many zealous are spiritual gifts? Seek that you may excel, be number one and edifying the body of Christ. God bless you till next time. Thank you Jesus. Glory. The Lord is good.

When? All the time the Lord is good. Hallelujah. Ok, last week we left off in the gift of faith and this is one of the greatest gifts of all out of the power gift. Faith is the greatest gift out of the power gifts and we said last week that the power gifts come under the heading of faith and these other four, healing, miracles, prophecy and discerning of spirits work according to the measure of our faith. In fact the first three, faith, healing and miracles are so close you don't even know when you're going out of one into the other.

Really so close and we'll examine it as we go on further. We gave the definition of faith. Faith is that supernatural surge of confidence which the spirit causes to arise within a person in a particular situation of need and challenge and which gives him an utter certainty and assurance that God is about to act through a word or an action to miraculously supply the need and give the victory. Hallelujah.

Now I didn't bring out this last week but I want to bring this out to you. The varieties of faith. Faith is such a tremendous attribute of God that he has broken up into several varieties. We have the gift of faith which we've been talking about and then we have the measure of faith. Some people do not understand the difference between the gift of faith and the measure of faith. We just told you what the gift of faith is. It comes on you at that time for you to speak that word and bring that miracle. And you don't have that gift again until what?

The next time the surge comes on you. But when every one of us got born again God gave us a measure of faith. Remember Romans 12 3 said God has dealt to every man the measure of faith. And that measure of faith is a supernatural enabling power from God that at our birth, our new birth, he gives us a measure of that so that we can live victorious and overcome the things of life and do the things that God's worded. This gift of measure of faith is a part of you.

You have it. And that faith can be increased because faith comes by what? Hearing the word of God. He gives you that faith that enables you to believe the word, to see the word of God and then act on it. You can use that faith or not use that faith.

You can act or not act. And according to the measure you get then you will act more on the word of God. You hear the word of God, stirs up your measure of faith, you come into the prayer closet and you begin to pray and ask God for whatever the situation, whatever you are asking the Lord for. Now there is a difference between the prayer of faith and the word of faith. Now the word of faith is like I say is the gift of faith. That surge comes on you and you speak like Jesus spoke to the waves in the wind and they what?

They laid down. The centurion said to Jesus speak the word only and my servant shall be healed. And it was healed. And then Jesus spoke to the fig tree and said henceforth no man eat fruit of thee and it died. That was a miracle by the gift of faith. See what I am talking about?

They work together. They are interwoven and intertwined. You are going in for one. You see there is a miracle by the spoken word of faith and then there is a miracle by the operation of the mighty power of God. How many say amen? There are some healings that are the prayer of faith.

James said if any man is sick when in call for the elders of the church let them anoint over him with the oil in the name of the Lord and the prayer of faith shall save the sick. How many say amen? That is you using your measure of faith and praying. How many say amen? But when you have that gift of faith comes in operation to speak you just speak the word. You don't have to pray.

You speak it. That word of faith and the miracle takes place. Remember I gave you the illustration last week that Joshua first spoke to the Lord and the Lord gave him the okay and that surge of faith come. Then he spoke and said son stand still.

Moon stay in the valley of Agilon and for about 24 hours they didn't move. That was a miracle by faith. See how they work together?

See how they flow together? One is a miracle by a spoken word. The other one is a miracle by the mighty act of power. Just like when Jesus took the fishes and loaves and blessed it.

Then what happened? The mighty act of power. Not a spoken word.

The mighty act of power came and here is the fishes and loaves. How many say amen? So even if you don't believe you have the gift of faith you have a measure of faith and you move and act on the word of God with your measure of faith and that measure of faith as you get more knowledge. Faith comes by hearing, hearing the word of God or faith comes by the knowledge of the word of God. And the more knowledge you get of the word of God the more readily and easily you can believe until you get to the place that God will just give you the gift of faith because he knows you are going to pray the prayer of faith.

Saves time. How many say amen? I know sometimes the healing line I just lay hands on and the power comes out but sometimes the spirit comes on me. I don't know if some of you would help me to the line that spirit comes on me to rebuke the devil or say in the name of Jesus you are healed. It is the word of faith coming into operation. How many say amen?

Hallelujah. So faith is the backbone of all the gifts and has many facets. Another facet of faith is in the fruit of faith.

Somebody said now what is the fruit of faith? It happens to do with your character, your attitude. It means being faithful.

How many say amen? Being trustworthy and also it is your attitude. The fruits are your attitude. You are to be in the attitude of love and joy and peace and you are to be in the attitude of faith. Somebody said well what does that mean brother?

That means when things are going wrong, when it looks dark you get up there and say let's hold on. God is going to move. God can't lie. His word is true.

We are going to come out victorious. Let's praise God. That is the fruit of faith in operation. So what do we have? We have three divisions of faith. First of all the measure of faith that God gives to everyone when they are born again and this can increase and will increase by hearing and getting the knowledge of the word of God and then acting on that word of God. You act on it.

You don't have to feel no surge. You act on the word of God. How many say amen? God delivers. You anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord and say I anoint you in the name of Jesus and heal them Lord.

How many say amen? Then we have that supernatural surge that you need for a special miracle, a special moving of God that at that time God gives that. He just drops that surge on you and you speak it out. You say wind quit blowing.

Waves lay down. Demons come out. He sent his word and he healed them. Then we have that fruit of faith that we are always exhorting ourself. God is going to move. God's word is true. God can't lie.

Hang on in there. The victory is on the way. How many say amen? All right the gift of healings and I want you to know that it is plural.

It is an S on each one of them. How many say amen? Gifts of healings which means that you don't have the gift of healing per se. Nobody has the gift of healing. The gift of healing would mean you have God's healing power in resident or on you at all times that you could use it at any time, anywhere to heal any disease.

No one has that. We have gifts of healings. Remember the word gifts is what? It comes from the word what?

Charis is what? Grace. What is one meaning of grace? Enabling power and divine ability. You put the MA on it, it becomes charisma.

How many say amen? MA means result or portions of grace. Enabling or divine ability. Charisma means you get portions of this divine ability and in the case of healing it manifests itself in what? Portions of God's enabling power to heal the sick.

You get a portion at a time for an individual sickness for that moment and when you release it you don't have it anymore. Till the next time God gives you. I've seen that work many times in the healing life.

Amen. What an insightful and timely teaching by God's servant brother Hardy on the gifts of the Spirit. Thank God that he has endowed his church, the body of Christ, with these nine marvelous manifestations of his Holy Spirit to bring forth mighty works of healings, deliverance and revelation to his people and also as a witness to others that they might believe on his son, the Lord Jesus Christ.

When the early church in Acts went forth preaching and teaching the Gospel, God worked with them, confirming his word through mighty signs and wonders. How much more do we today need the gifts of the Spirit in this age of counterfeit supernatural manifestations by the kingdom and prince of darkness. This teaching is vital to our understanding for every believer and answers the question unequivocally and scripturally are the gifts of the Spirit for today. And who may operate in the gifts?

How and when? You will understand the operation, the purpose and the function of the gifts of the word of wisdom, the word of knowledge, prophecy and discerning of spirits and how these gifts often work in tandem with each other, as well as the power gifts of faith, healings and working of miracles. And finally, you will understand the gift of diverse tongues and the gift of interpretation of tongues and what the differences between the baptism of the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues given to the individual for his own personal edification and the gift of diverse tongues and the gift of interpretation of tongues that operate in the church assembly. This complete in-depth teaching on the gifts of the Spirit is available on a double CD set and can be yours for a love gift of ten dollars or more for the radio ministry. Request offer 304.
