Okay. Greetings friends and new listeners. Welcome to this program of the R.G. Harding Ministries. I'm Sharon Knotts, thanking you for joining us today, because we know that faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God.
And today's message by my father, Brother Hardy, is certainly a faith-boosting, refining, and energizing word of the Lord. ABRAHAM'S KIND OF FAITH What is it? Do you have it? Let's find out together as we join Brother Hardy for Abraham's kind of faith. I want to bring an illustration.
on the only kind of faith That's acceptable to God. And that's the fifth one called Abraham's kind of faith. We showed you the failures of the other four faiths. But the only faith that pleases God Is Abraham's faith? He's the only one that had it.
That's why he's called the father of the faith. God When Abraham was 25 and Sarah was 65, appeared unto him. and made a covenant with him. and made a promise that I will make, I will in the future. Make Your seed like the stars of heaven and the sand of the sea for multitude.
How many say amen? And the Bible said. without any Gout that Abraham said I Believe. I believe, I say amen. It shall be what you said.
And God then Put down by his name. By faith You are justified. or you are in a right standing with me. And that is the basis. of our salvation.
Coming in the right standing. And the only way to come in is is by faith.
Now Abraham was 75. There was a lot of doubt that he could have a son at 75. There was no doubt at all that Sarah could not. Because she hadn't had any. in all of her fertile part of her life.
She was barren. And I believe there was a joke amongst the caravan people they would have to stop at Abraham's watering holes. Because he was a break Shit king. And when they were coded Meeting. Because when Abraham believed, God changed his name from Abram, exalted father, to Abraham, father of a multitude.
And when they would come and meet him in his tent, And they would introduce and they would say, What is your name? He says, Father of a multitude.
So we'll send how many sons you got, said none. Then then he got mixed up with Hagor, his Egyptian concubine. Then father of none became father of one.
Now I'm I imagine it was a bunch of, you know what I mean? jokes about him amongst the people in the Caravan. Father of a multitude, he haven't got none. And then after a while, they come back.
Well, a miracle's happened, he's got one. How many say you men? And for 25 years. He had To stand unwavering on that promise with him getting older. And weaker?
And Sarah. getting older and weaker. Her name was Sara. But then God changed to Sarah. Huh?
Princess. Because she was going to have a lot of leaders come out of her line. Amen? And I imagine the devil really tempted Abraham. Look at your body.
You must have had a Being dream. When you said you had that vision and saw God. Look at ya. Here you are now. Here, Sarah is 89.
If there was any hope in you before, it's gone now. And Sarah never had any hope. And are you still going to say that God's going to give you a son and make your seed like the stars of heaven and the sand of the earth? Said, you're absolutely deceived. But I want you to see a picture.
It's springing up in the modern time. Here is Abraham 99 and Sarah 89. and they go to John Hopkins Prenatal Clinic. And when they come in, Sarah told Abraham I have to go to the ladies' room. And Abraham said, Go ahead.
I'll sign you up. Prenatal clinic. Any comes up to the Woman? Register and said so. I'm Abraham, follower of a multitude.
He says, I want to sign my wife up. I'm going to have a son. The woman looks at him. Cool. 'Cause he's ninety-nine.
How many see you men? And she says, how old are you? He said, oh, I'm 99. But I'm going to have a son. She hits one of the other ones.
and says, we got a live one here. We better call psychiatrists. This guy needs hope. All of a sudden, Here comes Sarah. Oh, 89 years.
Bursting in. and said, have you seen my husband? His name is Abraham. And the nurse says, Come closer, because I think uh And he needs help. It might be the early stages of Alzheimer.
Said he's going to have a son. And she said, sure he is. And I'm going to be the mother. Said, how old are you?
So I'm just an 89-year-old spring chicken. Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha. You know, because they when God gave her that promise twenty years before five years before, she left in doubt. But now she's having a laugh of faith. Ha ha ha.
How many say you men? Yeah. Uh-huh. Eighty-nine years old. A medical impossibility.
There was no super drug that could change them. They couldn't shoot him up with hormones or any other bones. The Bible said That his body Abraham was dead and Sarah's womb was dead and Baron. Everybody was thinking they should have went to the Undertaker and set up their funeral they were so old. It's a good thing they didn't have any older family.
They would have probably got them and committed them to an institution for incompetence. How many say amen? You couldn't get a more Huh? Unlikely scenario than Abraham at 99. And Sarah at 89 is going to have a child.
Somebody said, Brother Hardy, why do you think God waited? Because you see, Isaac had to be a miracle child. He had to be a type of Jesus. And God waited. Until all physical evidence says That he could never have a son.
Naturally. That it would take a miracle. How many say amen? And that was the promise that God said that day when Sarah. Laughed at her heart.
Abraham believed, but she had a little wavering there. And God heard her in her heart and said to A. Sarah, why did you doubt? And you know, sin begets sin. She didn't believe.
Then she lied. She said, I didn't. God said, you did, you little fibber. He said, but I'm going to do it because my covenant was with Abraham. And he says, is there anything too hard?
Said, how are you going to do it? Said, I'm going to return the time of life. I'm going to give you back your youth. I want to make you young again. I'm going to make Abraham, you Abraham, young again.
In fact. Abraham lived. Huh, another 75 years. His wife died. He married another woman and had a whole lot of more children.
You talk about getting renewed. No wonder so many of them were there now. Middle East saying they're all Abraham's seed. But the Bible said, only in Christ shall thy seed be called. Are you out there?
Yeah, huh? How many say amen? You see, faith. Laughs. At Impossibilities.
Faith lasts only. at things that come through sense knowledge. Faith laughs the belief. I believe God. Ha ha ha, devil.
Do what you want. I'm going to have the victory in the thing. Which I believe God for. You see, he believed against hope. There was nothing for him to hope on.
Looking at her body and his own body, and knew it was past, there was no expectation to come out of that. But he had faith anyhow. That if it takes a miracle Then God is a miracle worker. And he'll do a miracle. If God has promised you something and it doesn't exist, that God by a miracle will create it, but he will fulfill his word.
Not one jot nor tittle shall fail. It'll come to pass just like he said it, and I'm standing on it. I am not going to believe the devil. I'm not going to believe in his lying insinuations. But I am going to stand on the promises.
I'm going to stand on it. I come out. Fail. Let the howling winds A doubt assailed. How many say amen?
I'm standing on the promises and it shall come. And if it takes a miracle, that's my God. He can do it. My father's a miracle worker. Do the miracle.
Do it. I believe it. Yeah. God said, is there anything too hard? For me, I'm going to be your spokesman and say no.
And in 50-some years, I have found out that nothing was too hard in my life. And I can sing that song, Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound that saved a wretch like me. I once was lost, but now I'm found. I was blind, but now I see. Through many dangers, toils, and snares, I have already come.
T'was grace that's brought me safe thus far. And grace is going to take me all the way up in the rapture. And I'm going to get a changed body. Emphasize with Abraham Because I'm 75. He got the promise at 75.
But God gave grace five times five, 25. How many say amen? And you know the end of the story, don't you? Hemity knows the end of the story with Sarah. Amen.
God said Right from the day Next year, the time of a woman. I believe it was 280 days. Perfect gestation. Huh, period for a human. Share.
When she was Eighty-nine. or now ninety And Abraham a hundred. But like a lot of these, huh? In scrupulous car dealers, God rolled the dates back. He rode the miles back.
Amen. And what happened? She had a little son and she called him Isaac. Oh, that was ribbon the devil. Devil been lying in them for 25 years and living because Isaac means lefter.
She took that little baby after all that birth pangs of a woman, and she lived. Woo! He did it. Hallelujah. And he said, she said, everybody that hears the story will laugh with me.
Come on, laugh with Sarah. Laugh over your doubts. Laugh over your fears. Laugh over all the lying insinuations of the devil. Laugh at sense knowledge and tells you it cannot be.
Laugh. Laugh at the insinuation of the devil. Laugh at the impossibility. Because I believe God. And if I believe God, God's able to bring something out of nothing and life out of death.
And God is a God that cannot lie. And His word cannot fail. How do you like that devil? Ha ha ha ha. Give him a good clap offering.
What a mighty God. No wonder Abraham was called a father of faith. Nobody had gone before him. He didn't have no illustration. He just believed God.
Had enough then. Let me read again a little bit of Romans about it. Yeah. As it is written. I I have.
May thee a father of many nations. For him whom he believed, even God. Who quickens the dead and calls those things that be not as though they were. Who against hope believed in hope That he might become the father of many nations according to that which was spoken. The word.
So shall thy seed be. He believed God. How many say you men? God was going to do it. God had already counted it done and said, I have made thee.
Amen? And yet, he hasn't a son yet. Let's read the rest of the There. Nineteenth verse. 20th, 19th verse.
And being not weak in faith. He considered not his own body now dead when he was about a hundred years old, either deadness. of Sarah's womb. He staggered not at the promises. of God through unbelief.
But he was strong in faith, giving glory to God. In other words, he said, I believe. Glory to God. Thank you. How many say you men?
Huh? And being fully persuaded that what he had promised, he was also able to perform. And therefore God said, you are righteous. with me. Abraham didn't become Weakened in faith.
Because He did consider his own body. And he did consider. Sarah's body, but he didn't think that was an obstacle to God. Because God brings something out of nothing and raises the dead. See in the Greek text the knot's there.
Not there, he considered not. He looked at his body. I guess the devil said, Look at you. Look at Sarah. He looked at his body.
He looked at Sarah. How many say amen? And he didn't waver. He didn't get weak. His faith strengthened him.
How many say you men? He said, Devil, bring all the evidence you want contrary. Do this. What God promised I believe Anyhow. Amen?
Abraham overruled sense knowledge. And he kept his faith. In God's promises. Agraham stombered not at the of unbelief. He didn't vacillate, I believe, I don't, I believe, I don't.
He didn't stagger. The word stagger could have been he did not decide. against the promises of God. Abraham looked at Sarah's body. his body and all the physical evidence that could be brought to him.
And then he looked at God's promise. And knowing who God is, and knowing He's faithful, and knowing that He can't lie, and that He's got the power to do it. He made a decision. That Greek words. means he made a decision, we get the word judgment from it.
He judged all of the evidence. There's nothing wrong with judging the evidence. You need the judge the evidence. Everything the devil says. Everything negative your eyes and all the senses say.
that it can't be. And then you got to take it to God's word.
Now you've got to decide. Your whole life is made up one. are making decisions. Are you going to decide? For God?
Or are you going to believe the sense knowledge? You got to make a decision of faith. Every day. You've got to make decisions of faith. Is it too hard for God?
Or has it become too hard for you to believe? I'm not sure what you're doing. I believe he's going to do it. Let me let me show you. About making the decision.
In healing. When God said, I am the Lord that healeth thee. That forgiveth all of thine iniquities and health all of thine diseases. And then if the devil comes and brings symptoms, and shows you the opposite is true. We must make a decision.
Any man? I'm the Lord God that healeth thee, forgiveth all thy iniquities, heal all thy diseases, what God's joined together, let no man put asunder. And then the devil comes. and brings the opposite and even negative. Evidence.
Because a lot of times when you believe for healing The devil's gonna come. and make you feel worse. But a few. Count. You're basing your faith on sense knowledge, which you feel.
That's not faith. What you see is not safe. How many say you man? You don't throw your faith away. I hope Abraham came to that decision.
He rejected all of the evidence. that faith knowledge could bring. He stood on the Word of God. And even though it took 25 years to fulfill it, It happened. That's why you gotta have hope.
Cast not away your confidence. Let me tell you about a story in my own ministry. From years back. We were having a Healing revival camp meeting. And a lady called me on the phone.
And said, my mother's got a terrible tumor. They say she can't live long. Can I Bring her to church and and can you help us? And I told her she would bring her because God could help. Amen.
They were of another religion. That didn't believe in our full gospel persuasion. They knew nothing about faith. They knew nothing about God's promises. They knew nothing about the gifts of God.
But you just happened to hear that broadcast and it inspired them.
So I ministered that night, and then I called a healing line. And they brought her up in a wheelchair. That's how weak she was. And I laid hands on her. They shall lay hands on the sick and they shall recover.
And I Cursed that tumor. And ask God to destroy all those tumor and cancer cells. And like Jesus when the widow With the issue of blood touching, I felt virtue go out of me, healing go out. I knew God touched her. I finished and went to bed that Sunday night.
I had preached three times that day. Prayed for a lot of sick and was. Tired and I was one out. Then all of a sudden the phone rings. And I pick up the phone.
And the daughter says, my mother is all full of pain. We've called the doctor. He set up To operate on her, I'm gonna take her. Pray for her, she comes through. The operation.
So I told her I would. And I prayed. And try to go back to sleep.
Well, in the morning, she called again. She said, Pastor Hardy, when the doctor Whooping up my mother. The tumor had already let loose. and she was in the process of passing it. And that's why she felt pain like cramps.
She didn't need the operation. You see? Feelings told her that she got worse. But the word, lay shall land on the sick and they shall recover. Huh?
Said that she's going to recover.
So sometimes the devil will come and bring symptoms to make you feel worse than you did. Or he'll bring something opposite of what you... Pray for, but you don't throw away your faith. You stand upon it. How many say amen?
When I pray for somebody and believe and we agree and you come back and tell me all your problems, I said, listen, I didn't feel my faith away. Don't tell me that stuff. I'm believing what we believe. I'm staying on it. Do you believe what we prayed yet?
Let's stand on it and let's praise God. Let's praise you for the answer. Yeah. Amen. What an inspirational and soul-strengthening word of the Lord by my father Brother Hardy, Abraham's kind of faith.
What do you need when you have prayed the prayer of faith, but time is passing with no visible fulfillment? When things seem to be getting worse instead of better, when you're facing insurmountable obstructions and even setbacks and you just feel like giving up. What you need is Abraham's kind of faith, the kind of faith that won't lose hope even when hope is against you. that will enable you not to stagger at the promise of God in unbelief, but to be fully persuaded that what God has promised, He is able to and will perform. You need the faith of our father Abraham, who believed God, and it was counted to him for righteousness.
The Hebrew literally says, Abraham believed God and said Amen. And Paul told us in Romans 4 that we are to walk in the steps of our Father Abraham.
