Secular today on secular were discussing the historic speech Joe Biden yesterday his African withdrawal by blaming everyone else is keeping you informed and now you secular.
I came in office. I inherited deal the President from negotiated with the Taliban. The choice I had to make as your President was either to follow through on that agreement or be prepared to go back to fighting the Taliban in the middle of the spring fighting season want to hear from you.
Sharon posted a comment called 1-800-684-3110 WhatsApp Afghanistan political leaders gave up and fled the country. The Afghan military collapsed sometime without trying to fight if anything, the developments of the past week reinforce that ending US military involvement in Afghanistan was the right decision cannot and should not be fighting for dying in war that Afghan forces are not willing to fight cells. Now, your hopes will suck you secular. This is loading I'm joined by Will Haynes and Wes Smith in studio user.
That clip where Pres. Biden said you're essentially American troops cannot should be fighting a war that the Afghan people do not want number willing to fight themselves. That being said, breaking right now is that at least 4000+ more troops are having to go to Afghanistan right now due to the chaos that has erupted.
We talked about yesterday you seen the pictures of the aircraft flying thousands of people out at a time. Refugees from this regime, all while his speech happened yesterday afternoon from Pres. Biden where he yet pointed a lot of blame it by different places and look at it we can all admit same mistakes were made pretty much the every presidency in terms of Afghanistan starting the Bush Obama trump and to Biden there were always issues this was never an easy war.
This was never a a necessarily a winning situation in terms of the big plan that no one really expected which was the nationbuilding part of this but I've seen it now, and a look I'll give him props CNN, MSNBC, most of my hard-core liberal friends which are plenty of all had pretty much had enough after yesterday. They were all pretty upset with not only the imagery or sitting outside of Afghan Afghanistan, but also the lack of empathy. The lack of care and the in the general. Yet we did what we said were to do feeling that came from Pres. Biden's speech yesterday and I feel like we would probably have a lot of people with similar views here less. I'll let you as a military expert. I'll let you kind of take your thoughts about you so much to say. This is chaos unnecessary chaos.
You know there's an old military saying that says you know, no plan last past past first contact with enemy.
You have to be prepared for contingencies because things don't go right in with the President spoke yesterday instead of talking about the things that happened and how that knew it was out of control. He defended the decision that almost no one disagrees with almost all Americans agreed we should get away Afghanistan.
But it was the chaos and and the crisis of humanity there that he either did not address or he simply blamed it on someone else. The discussion we had a radio prep meeting was what could've been done. What can be done.
What is the future look like we discussed all of that as well as go through the highlights of the speech from yesterday throughout the show. I love to hear from you what your thoughts of the speech from yesterday and the just troubling and horrifying images coming from Afghanistan love to hear from you. When 100 684-3110. As Pres. Biden stands behind squarely behind his decision in a way that I think that a nearly 80% of people said I wish getting out of Afghanistan. About 80% of people said this was just bungled mess was handled incorrectly. Now it's complicated is why working on a lot of projects to help explain this point of view, not necessarily full consistent on what we could've done what should be done better, but there's a lot of different points within a grid address here today on the show again. I love to hear from you. 100-684-3110 visit ACLJ.org for more information and support the work of the ACLJ right now donations are doubled if you give $10 effectively becomes 20 so on and so on will be right back more secular the American Center for Law and Justice were engaged in critical issues at home and abroad. I want to first start by letting you hear from Pres. Biden himself.
We titled this that he was there, laying blamed a lot of different people and honestly taken it himself. Let's hear a bite eight let's go to and then follow that by maybe I will frontlets terabyte when I came in office. I inherited deal the President trump negotiated with the Taliban. The choice I had to make as your President was easy to follow through on that agreement or be prepared to go back to fighting the Taliban in the middle of the spring fighting season. Again, that when playing blame at present trump and then later on, but it's a blame not only at again someone like President but also at the FDA people and they were gigabytes to buy 11 to what's happened Afghanistan political leaders gave up and fled the country. The Afghan military collapsed sometime without trying to find if anything, the developments of the past week. Reinforced that ending US military involvement. Afghanistan now was the right decision. American troops cannot and should not be fighting the war and dying in a war that Afghan forces are not willing to fight for themselves.
At that point placing blame on Natalie, the people of Afghanistan but their own soldiers.
We all know, have had a lot of corruption a lot of issues and and not something we discussed not to say in inherent patriotism as we have here. They were grown up with a different generations of chaos are there so it's different target to think about. We heard some people Wes and I wanted to get your thoughts on this and I know that is weighing on you and swing a lot of people who whose family fought in Afghanistan who have who are people who are veterans are people whose families are going there even right now that this is not worth this was not worth the sacrifice. I want you to dress up and especially after Osama bin Laden was killed when I was still at Dover Air Force Base and y'all know that I spent three years and casually affairs dealing with the grief of family members up close and personal, of receiving bodies from Afghanistan and in Iraq earlier Hoover who were killed in battle, and the grief is palpable. When that happens and you're right there people right now that those those haunting questions that didn't did my loved one die in vain. Come back to them. This makes it you real all over again.
I did my son or daughter died in vain. My husband, my wife or whatever and and I think we have to be sensitive to that.
I appreciated what will said yesterday that if you know people that are grieving family members are veterans because what's going on now.
You reach out check up on them. When that when I get asked the question I was asked it a lot at Dover, but I've been asked in the last couple of days by other people to did my loved one die in vain. And that's it, tough, tough place to be.
But part of my answer is in. This is not to gloss over the pain, the part of my answer is when evil is confronted and fault is never in vain. And when we went there for the first 10 years until Osama bin Laden was go first nine years we were there to to degrade Al Qaeda and to find and kill Osama bin Laden in both of those things happened the last 10 years you know we had mission creep wheat we lost sight of our goal in their a lot of things and overcome talk about regarding that.
But your loved one.
I just want to say to these people did not die in vain and we bless their memories and we pray for the grieving families and loved ones to absolutely desecrate for everyone who every family has an involved people there. American citizens and not American citizens.
Everyone who's it was suffering from this. Like you said someone who face a life or even just their mental stability to go fight a war, and in good life and limb. We have so many people have come back physically horribly wounded from that and we don't want to lose sight of that. And as those you are watching people of faith that most of you are. Listen to this broadcast anchorage and pray for those families and like will said reach out find someone that you know we all know somebody talk to them check and make sure they're doing okay in this sort of conversing in the imagery firsthand. Imagine a field if you actually have been there, seen it lived.
It was her home.
I saw a person on the news morning said these were people going up to in the street saying we are here for you.
We are going to reform your country related to end promising making promises that sadly cannot be kept necessarily the big picture, at least, that the idea of turning Afghanistan into this democracy or Republic adjust its IQ since not us early in the in the fabric of of the region of the country the DNA, the political social DNA that simply just not there. And that's where we really, really went astray as a country and as international community with President speeches today. I'll give credit where credit is due. There were some things that I really agree with what he said. For example, in our mission was there to degrade data and to kill Osama bin Laden. The mission should have been counterterrorism, not counterinsurgency it. It morphed from counterterrorism into counterinsurgency that that was a mistake. It was not supposed to be nationbuilding. I agree with the President said there is corruption there, and a lack of a will to fight him some of their soldiers and he said no amount of military force would ever deliver a stable, unified, secure Afghanistan absolutely true. So it wasn't that all the content was bad it was. He was defending a decision that no one was virtually no one was arguing with and when it came to the chaos and end the horrible videos and pictures coming out of there and the pandemonium he was defensive, as if somehow you know if anyone question that part of it and the lack of planning and the lack of being prepared for contingencies and and so many other things we could talk about that could have been done so that this did not happen instead of showing empathy and grief and concern for what's happening there. I wanted to defend his own actions and, in fact, what, when all this was happening over the weekend. Logan for four days, we heard nothing.
I think he disappeared in the middle of a human crisis of incredible magnitude we heard nothing.
I'm convinced he made the speech yesterday because probably his aides forced him to. And speaking of that, I think there is something to say about that specific statement which is the aides forced him to do it. I believe in politics and look a lot of business ELR yes-men around so it's almost as if this speech was not addressing the real concern that people have which again is not the mission at hand. It was a crisis that's happening right now what's happening on your news right now, not what happened a week ago that was to happen in a month. How do we fix what's happening now implicates a certain good stuff with my bike to this is about the war in Afghanistan and some of them and take it from there.
Want to Afghanistan almost 20 years ago with clear goals get those who attacked us on September 11, 2001 and make sure Al Qaeda could not use Afghanistan as a base from which to attack us again. We did that we severely degraded Al Qaeda and Afghanistan. We never gave up the hunt for Osama bin Laden. We got that was an decade ago, the last slide of that was a decade ago really rang not only a church true, but there was a tone there that I don't care for it was a tone there that felt like I was a decade ago.
What are we doing again as you stated, there's a mass majority the country that thought we needed to getting out of Afghanistan. However, that's not the problem. That's not the discussion of what's going on what's going on is receiving thousands of people trying to get onto aircraft risking their lives, some losing their lives.
Just trying to get on a plane to America because they know what is at hand. They know when this happens you see were women being interviewed confidentially using women out there. When you let her feel short ride out to be no not one using confidentially being interviewed to their terrified for what this means, with sharia law and all things we know.
Come with terrorist run Islamic countries.
That's not the click good statements is making is making a lot of things related to Afghanistan as a whole. We all agree as a whole. Well you do with what's happening today that I wasn't the plan to leave.
It was the execution of the plan that is just so horrible and chaotic well and you brought up the tone of the speech. I think there are really only two options for the way the speech was delivered either the people that wrote it in Indy proposed this speech said listen, we want to make this issue about withdrawal and defend withdrawal even though that's not what people are concerned about kinda plate a political game so to speak of.
Let's let's put it on this focus that you know we made the right decision to withdraw or they are that out of touch with where both parties are any left right center. Everybody that they don't understand the concerns people have the negative feedback they were hearing wasn't because the decision to withdraw because of the chaos and disaster that was happening in that moment I seen it firsthand.
I really, but not as a verse hand in terms of of Job. I'm in so many cases where this does happen where you disconnect from reality occurs because you are at a leadership position and people are afraid to tell you we made the wrong decision. We messed up. This was wrong there afraid of it in there for you to go here to defend everything or blame everyone else and estimate we made the right call when it's okay to just say this is chaos in order to do what we can affect and whenever the decision was made to take out Osama bin Laden in the situation room Joe Biden was the only one in the room who disagreed with that decision to even go after him and try to killing… Jessica 100-684-3110. That's 164 3110 to be on the air like Pompeii will be joining us a come up a little bit later in the show to discuss this obsolete. He's been making the news making the rounds about current situation in Afghanistan is obviously during the last multiple years we've heard very little of what was happening there and that's not to say bad things.
I guess a call though 164 3110 if you're on the hold right now you are a stay on hold 10 outcomes. Only one. A society can agree that the most vulnerable. Is there any hope for that culture to survive. My question is how can Joe Biden by his addition when he walked away from the ages. The characters were from all that equipment and let the Caliban taken you today they wish seen that come up a lot promising that come up a lot in discussions with about all the equipment and what we had on the canal yesterday. He mentioned that that was one of the contingencies of the drug administration of leaving licenses in the destruction or removal of a lot of that extra equipment if the if it was going to end in chaos and were nothing that we think this could get out as quick as possible, which means a lot of things left over and Pres. Biden said a month ago. This is one of the most powerful militaries in the world while either he was wrong or we just left that military now in the hands of terror.
Yeah, thanks to all this happened in the last few days. The tell a man is now the best armed in a radical Islamist group in the country in the world and up.
They have some of the most sophisticated weapons that the US processes in their hands now and they do if if we ever had to go back they will use as weapons against us. And right now I'm concerned about the flights going in at the airport because some of those weapons are weapons and can bring on an airliner plane and they have literally surrounded the airport so I guess the discussion point goes to what we do from here and there's a lot of different options. A lot of people have a lot of different theories. It is not a say one size fits all. So just to cut. We went what is a military person is the only option right now doing what were doing, which is, you still go get planes in their get people out and do what were doing the best humanitarian because it's already far gone. Do we just abandon ship or doing innocent people.
But what what happens and that's where a lot of us are concerned, there isn't a straight answer and I know that right yeah I think it would be unwise in the actual horrible mistake to go back in en masse into Afghanistan that the decision to leave was the correct decision how it was executed how they're trying to accomplish. It is where they totally totally bundled it. But now I don't see us going back in. I wish, and this could've been done and it is a mystery to me as as a retirement guy what wasn't done with the Taliban taking over all the provincial capitals unless you week and then in the last few days actually taking cobble the capital up against and we have airpower that the Caliban they were actually going down the road to Afghanistan and convoys with vehicles are airpower could've taken those convoys out.
We could've started attacking them and holding them in check. Holding them back. That would've done a couple of things the Afghan government could have had a temptress come out make a better plan than just leave him by the way they left with billions of dollars US cash and fled to another country in the leadership that we could help him a check for that. They would also would've held them in check so that we can in an orderly way get people out of the country.
We have that we had the military power to stop this encroachment by the Taliban and we did not. I think part of the reason was in this crazy way of thinking that if we attack the Caliban.
It will somehow hack them off and are going to become violent and attack us. They do that already. And so I think a lot of the chaos could've been prevented with with with planning for the inevitable things that happen contingency plans but also using our military force to hold them at bay. But now that that horses left the barn. I think the best we can do is try to keep the airport a couple secure into we can get everyone out and do what we can. Perhaps we can negotiate with the Caliban. I know there are conversations going on between our intelligence agencies and the Pentagon and some of the Taliban leaders. Maybe we can try to get other people to the of work part of the problems going on right now there are a lot of people, including people of American citizenship can even get to Kabul because now all across the country. The Taliban has checkpoints up and they're not letting anyone through it. It's a mess. The best we can do is try to resolve the mess get as many people out as we can and basically put this behind us while and I heard someone on the news this morning say they estimate as many as 10,000 US citizens could still be in Afghanistan dispersed throughout the country. So it's not as though the people that are there can just get to the airport and get out quickly.
There is still a long road ahead of trying to clean up the mess that was because this weekend, but you also brought up that you know that it was he's blaming the presidency the previous presidency of Donald Trump saying that you know they they decided this was the path forward, and when we got and we're going to move ahead. But that's kind of the excuse we see with a lot of these policy decisions are the administration you look at the border you look at various other foreign policy issues that they will blame the previous administration's decision on something. But what they ended up doing was gutting the actual plan. They took the top line issue gutted the plan and then blame them when their gutting of the plan falls apart and it reminded me of something you mentioned on the show before, but that Robert Gates said in his memoir, and he served as Secretary of Defense under Barack Obama, that he said Biden has been wrong on nearly every major foreign policy and national security issue over the past four decades. So it really shouldn't be a surprise to us but yet he was kind of elected partially on that he was can be so savvy with his foreign policy but yet these type of disasters are what we keep saying over and over again, absolutely. And I would love to hear from you and your point of view. Another law calls come in and really don't want it a little bit different than ours, 1-800-684-3110 Alsace Laura 1-800-684-3110 to have your voice heard thousands of your watching right now in social media millions on the radio this be good time to call in some lines open were also rejoin the cup assignments by Mike Pompeo Serena have expert analysis. Continuing the show got Rochelle and Virginia were showing on their call.
What Biden I you know I know I work on opening up about 7 to 8 year love the work. People and are you know they are problem by I believe that we believe we need them plan but I don't let them looking at hand and a different story. But I go and I believe that fallout and on Being what we what we do, then there and I don't think that it works the wrong opinion and I think you met by now we knew coming very long time and Afghan people having the same laxative to wrap that's a sentiment from a lot of people that this obviously for people like you. You're like will clearly this was can happen.
This is a wake-up call for a lot of people to know when no one outside. Maybe those who were there experiencing it in person thought this was gotta be the conclusion well and there is a leadership issue here as well, that as we said we we aren't disagreeing that it was time to pull out but it was the execution in the plan, but also the President blaming the Afghan he is saying they didn't want to fight for their country. They gave up. They walked away, and there is there is truth to that, there was not a resistance of the Taliban. At this moment but as we are discussing thousands and thousands of Afghan he citizens died for their country so that selling short the effort that people did do that to stand up and try to write for a better Afghanistan and died doing so.
Just saying they didn't want to fight for their country is disingenuous and and disrespectful as well that he blame Pres. Trump blamed the Afghan civilians and military there was no acceptance of personal responsibility, and in saying the buck stops with him. He was very very good at passing the buck yesterday. Obviously the chaos that is happening in Afghanistan are drawn by Wes Smith and Will Haynes later on in the show that excitement will be hearing from Mike Pompeo to go over all of what's been going on. I want to quickly go the President Biden from his speech yesterday.
That is been criticized has been having rightfully so, said, his tone deaf, not sincere. I seen all conservative and liberal pundits both given this pretty much an F rating in terms of understanding with the American people are going through thoughts here. President Biden by 21.
I know there are concerns about why we did not begin evacuating Afghans civilians sooner part of the answer is some of the Afghans and did not want to leave earlier still hopeful for their country.
Important because the Afghan government and its supporters discourage us from organizing a mass exodus to avoid triggering as they said crisis of confidence that is coming from a President Biden a statement that is been made that people have kind of critiqued a little because I said that they didn't just begin evacuating Afghans and they would. They should have gotten people out sooner. We should the blame again being pointed in different directions and the idea of him blaming the people you want to get out here. Emily thought that was an option. It would to just run for the hills to flee still again, very insincere, very tone deaf.
Yeah. And I've talked to have a couple of friends or Afghan interpreters for US forces.
There are people lined up who wanted to get out of Afghanistan company states for years.
The idea that somehow another we can evacuate people sooner because no one wanted to leave is flat-out false on its face. What he's trying to cover is that the chaos because of how this plans being executed in the fact that we did not stop the Caliban from from encroaching the Lender and inputting roadblocks up one of the things about Trump's plan and it was true. He did make that the initial decision to pull troops out, which is I think the right decision, but it was condition based President transit. We will leave, but he put the Taliban on notice. You can't do this and you must do that. There were conditions and when the Biden administration came in those conditions. I haven't heard anything about any of the know know just a major step. The Grande Chef data Associates is not the plan is not the decision is how this President is is executing that plan. In this idea that I had no choice. If she said that yesterday your basic I had no choice.
It was Trump's plan, decided it I couldn't stop it yellow. It was either that or we're going to escalate the war and send tens of thousands of US troops back to Afghanistan this a false choice that that that was not the only two choices he made. Again, is not Trump's plan are going back to a full-scale war in Afghanistan is how do we actually go through with the plan in an orderly way, keeping the Taliban a check protecting civilians protecting US troops and securing our equipment. We this morning or yesterday actually met seller was on MSNBC and was discussing a he's in Afghanistan war vet former CIA analyst right after the speech and lets out will give the setup and the F you the quotes. Heroes go first. 37 and will go from there. This consequential speech by the American Pres. didn't run from it.
He owned that they own this decision a on the fact that, as he put it, the buck stops with him. I hope he is on their desk to I want to difference peace and the rest of the guys I was all say that is not Pete Williams speaking is Brian Williams but it's okay to limit your people know that. Then he be brought up specifically that quote that we displayed from present buying thoughts here bite 38 Mrs. Ella there is such a profound boldfaced lie in that speech. The idea that a plan for every contingency. I have personally trying to tell this administration since it took office trying to tell our government for years that this was coming. We sent them plan after plan and how to teach people no money listen to us. They didn't plan for the evacuation of our Afghan wartime allies trying to conduct it now in the 11th hour okay get that was met seller on MSNBC so you can see the comments are coming and not just from say conservative news sources right we get back really joined by Mike Pompeo, Sec. Pompeo Oxley is a senior counsel Daisy OJ will be discussing is going on Afghanistan.

Mike Pompeo's global affairs and I'm someone who has been making the rounds in the news talking about just the mess that is going on currently in Afghanistan.
Sec. Pompeo own if you saw present buying speech yesterday seems be putting a lot of blame in a lot of different places and seatbelts were giving a conflicting message. What is the difference in with the strategy you were trying to implement and accomplish in Afghanistan opposite. We've evocative been a little more informed on all of those inner workings just the last few days, and what this ministration did unbind administration as we seen just just a tragic mess about what it is not a time for assignment of blame will get make sure we get the American there trapped some of them trapped inside of Afghanistan beats other than the goblet. I read the article we need to make sure that a military focused on that and that will all gotta make sure we get folks out.
But as for that strategy.
We were very clear present somebody get our point across, nope, nobody is squawking the objective of getting our men and women out of Afghanistan got into basically what you have to execute this in a way that will collect that history and the contact of what's going on in. Second, there is no real responsibility. Make sure that we reduce the risk that were ever attacked from that place again and President not give me the mission to do each of those two things we we went through 12,500 folks so call it 80+ percent of our forces we had gone down to around 2500. By the time we left in January of last year we had we had net American killed in February 2020.
Because the Taliban understood, the President found that I work. About protecting America from the pictures you can email@example.com it looks like this week meant that you see around the world with the Russian people in piano with Uranian that weakness with them in the came to be known by the Taliban and they ran the table and now we find ourselves in a place where the President that he plan for everything, but yet at do an emergency basis send back in even more troops that were there 12 months before that. It's really sad. Mr. Sec., you mentioned the mission was to make sure the capacity for an attack against the United States from Afghanistan was diminished and and as you mentioned as well that there had not been a loss of life or an American soldier since February 2020, but was such a chaotic exit has the threat from Afghanistan risen dramatically just over these last few days that the direct leper tomorrow probably hasn't changed a great deal. But remember this is always about context we end up focusing on the number of boots on the ground that's too narrow a land but make no mistake about it if you're not guided like this, you can see now that there's a space that the weather but I made very clear, we see that build up if we see Al Qaeda if we see tariffs from other organizations, political backhanded below. We need to do to take that risk down. My guess is that they are bold and they can see that they find uncovers great ministration is likely not prepared to inflict the costs on them to keep America safe and secure so whether whether there the risk of integrators we sit here today. I don't know.
But over time American weakness. America's absence of leadership around the world.
It begets war it creates risk for the American people what I pray that that will not be the case but I fear that the full context whether that's what's taking place with the Chinese and that is what they all wanted you thinking is watching Chairman Kim is watching they can all see how America responded and it inability under Pres. Biden to execute a mission that it was working on II think it absolutely increases risk and the second is Wesley and I think that just a lot of the foreign policy decisions that are that have been made policies have been put in place some of the rhetoric and it seems like this administration lacks some clear direction and strategy and consistency with foreign policy and I'm curious. Was this all this happening of the last few days in Afghanistan, the natural outcome of an administration without a clear foreign policy that that really good that the really good concept like the symptom of their failed understanding of how you secure American freedom and how you protect America look at the combination right now we have terrorists that were that run over a country globe will try again to kill America level poor southern border, the people can freely travel including rattle at radical black like Terrace to become across work and provide the maiden traveling around the country. We've defunded demoralized our law enforcement community. The tools necessary to protect their wit. We now are telling people to get the need to go Up again at all with the virus. All of these things are interconnected combination of these things increases risk so greatly they don't understand the central precept of American security applicant model that makes it known to the world that your leaders for American leadership is going to be present in order to protect the things we care about our vital interest to do so in a way that we never apologize for securing American freedom by Sec. Pompeo to question a lot a lot of people America is a compassionate place where compassionate people when you see this kind of imagery from anywhere in the world in double down on you being somewhere where we had such a presence. And you see people cling to airplanes to escape is a concern a lot of people's concern is the safety of not only the people fought alongside us partners the people Afghanistan as well as United States citizens, but is also he said the people who have looked to the US for comfort for safety.
How should this be addressed to have a thought of this. I know this is a big question that a lot of people are. Are we all can look at and go. This is horrible to be horrible for women it's can be horrible for everyone in Afghanistan. But what can be done at this point what would you how should this be addressed. So, I will always came back to the one of the things that are vital American and so there are tragic things that happened in lots of places in the world that we do our best to help ameliorate all of these risks to people in the world.
We worked on religious freedom. We worked on human rights those important things with United States but in the end, with respect to third of the basic living conditions like that. The building of a nation that get that that is going to fall directly to the app get people that the negotiations that we had begun right with the Taliban. They were a little bit about things military a lot about the security but also about trying to get applicant passed Utah Jake's people from the north people from Herat the West all the elements of Afghan society to find the set of accommodations that could deliver the very human rights, understanding that you're describing. It is difficult to watch. It is very sad, but the use of America's military power they're putting the risk of our sons and daughters in a place like Afghanistan has to be confined to those places where there is absolutely vital American interests.
We can't be everywhere and all things to everyone.
We appreciate you coming on getting your point if you ask a very unknowledgeable and very specific Outlook outlays this week. You forgive today online ACLJ secular for the day of the text and call out here: right now still a good time to call if you get a busy signal to skip trying 1-800-684-3110 is a couple inches opens is perfect time to call 1-800-684-3110 let's go to Tim in Colorado online to Timmy on their I call my question has to do it, it has to do with the department and inviting speech where he said that he would have a contractor deal that present trumpets, I would dally them and that basically his hands were tied by indicating that he felt it there was nothing he could do so. My, my sense is that really a leader who's only really a leader. I will take a situation that they find themselves in a craft, a new solution come up with new ideas and not just sit back and say well I can't do anything and I'm wondering what your team is on the leadership aspect Pres. Biden's actions.
There it's an excuse big time as anyone knows who follows politics quickly. You can present now for what eight months this point, I think to be undone. Things can change. Your hands are rarely tied in a way that is impossible, and I'm not saying he's not passing the blame off on front present trumpets or the necessarily other thing which way the decision was was correct, but passing that blame your eight months and is something that is is certainly the end of the chose a good sign for what the next three years plus could you and exactly when only that he he he says is present trumps planned that somehow his hands were tied and yet in his speech he agreed with every point that Pres. Trout made a what we should leave Afghanistan unit is not disagreeing with the playmates trying to blame trumps.
Think of the reaction today.
Logan if yesterday when the President came to the microphone.
It made a brief speech and said you know I agreed with my predecessor we needed to leave were trying to execute it. It got outta hand some unforeseen things have happened and I take full responsibility and we will fix it. He could've made a three minute speech, and he would've been the leader.
I remember I was telling will during the break, when Jimmy Carter was present. I was of like a college student that we hate had the hostages taken and ran, and Pres. Carter secretly authorized a rescue mission and that rescue mission in the desert to move our aircraft ran into each other in the dark and caught him fire and Americans were killed. The next day and I'm not a big fan of Jimmy Carter, but the next day he came on television and explain to the American people that he had attempted a rescue. It was clandestine it went bad. Americans are dead, and he said and I take full responsibility.
That is a leader at sibling back. I happen and in this style of politics and 2021 anything about 9/11 work were 20 years post 9/11 it's almost the antithesis of the emotion happened on 9/11 9/11 Trout horrible tragedy happen in a country United for many years, a country united behind the President. A lot of them did not agree with a lot of the now looking back on it also made out of agreement but in that moment, the country United now, or sing almost exactly 20 years to the day the end of what was that mission and you cannot have a more adverse reaction into that point President Bush was at just about the exact same place in Haim resident as Pres. Biden is into this presidency and you did not see a speech from President Bush that was you know this is terrible. This is horrible but Bill Clinton really dropped the ball on the rights he left me with this terrible insecure situation. He was a leader.
It was a horrible security failure in the United States.
It was a tragedy that we will never forget, and in his shaped our country in so many ways over the last 20 years but that wasn't the speech he saw so many people admired President Bush in the days after 9/11 because he went to Ground Zero and he stood on the rubble with the megaphone in these images that are in your head forever. He went to the scene of of Paris – the Hall of Presidents at Disney World. A gathering is highly the highlight reel and wow the a terror attack on 9/11 was significantly more catastrophic than the chaos we've seen Afghanistan for different reasons. It it was.
Not that type of speech. It wasn't a leadership moment for the President when, as is West Point now. It could have been. It could have been a moment that people that disagree with him, respected the way he handled it and you're not seeing that on any side of thinking that we had a, the came in at a super chat. I appreciate that means that someone who recently paid to have their helmet highlighted on YouTube because ACLJ so again I appreciate that I would not say do that in lieu of a donation as Eli was laid of percentages and cuts another link.
If you do it.
I appreciate I want to highlight this. It said this is from Alex agreement to think that he said you think Biden was just incompetent in this or he wanted this. I will tell you without without a doubt, he did not want this is this is just about one of the worst things that can happen under your watch health politically is at the potential to cost him greatly. This is not what he wanted. I was mismanaging mishandle six ways from Sunday but I don't think Pres. Biden wanted this anointed absolutely.
Let's try to take at least one more call April in Virginia April thanks Colin on the night and they are quite why would like hard rain and a credit.
I had to go back and eat a lot. I hate to cut off the ends of connection promise what you said I had to comments from the center has been served Afghanistan's. It was very difficult situation. Large level of illiteracy.
Teach them how to fight was tough just in general, anything beyond that I could likely target for just a common are common thought of people who want to serve in the military as the United States military Israeli Defense force who are actually kind of forced into doing it to be within a very patriotic people work who support their country unwaveringly support our country may not be the same when you grew up with the Caliban or you grew up in chaos or not as corrupt as you working a behavior what your promise or get paid to serve their there so much that goes into it and when when Pres. Biden said you later want to fight this war doesn't want to fight the war they just into the point of fighting the war when none of the promises they had. Maybe where were actually true. Yeah, I heard a veteran this morning on the news talk about this very thing that that April talked about. He said that not only did they have to teach them some of them you want to. They didn't have to read they did not account. They didn't know their colors.
Some of the things that a kid in kindergarten or first grade nose in the eye states of America.
They did not know and say it was a challenge and it's a difference a different world over there it's a tribal society is very primitive, actually almost semi-barbaric. Think of something from the dark ages. That's Afghanistan in the 21st century. A lot of us because we kind of conflate Iraq and Afghanistan which Simmons desert. You know, just because it's just you kind of put those images together for those who grew up with those wars kind of the same and you look at its mountainous regions. It's I said a a tribal society.
It's not something we can necessarily awfully wrap our heads around what it's like that when you see people running for the airports writing for the planes, obsolete, heartbreaking, and harkens out to everyone, not those not only those who were there right now. Only those who have family members that are there, but those who served as well said and and West said deftly check in on a family member or friend. You know who served in the military just hide and tell them that this was not a defeat. This is not this was not in vain.
Their service was not in vain and your check in because it's a tough time for us to be watching this entry, but it's I can imagine how much more is for those who sacrificed so much like his life and limb, and even just mental fatigue.
This come with it and PTSD at all.
Of all the horrible things to come from more so with that for this week or this or today on Fonseca hello I appreciate you all listening commenting and I getting feedback and it's greatly appreciated is when I know what everyone thinks like to share this comment like subscribe all that's what ACLJ ACLJ.org the American Center for Law and justice were engaged in critical issues at home and abroad for limited time you can participate in the ACLJ matching challenge for every dollar you donate will be managed $10 gift becomes $20, $50 gift becomes 100 you can make a difference in the world who knew protecting the constitutional and religious freedoms most important to you and your family.
