Breaking news as the crisis spirals controlled by his administration by grid protection protocols known as remaining in Mexico.

What happens next. Talk about that today live from Washington DC phone lines are open for your questions right now. 1-800-684-3110 and now your hose secular we are. Take your photos to 100-2000 684-3110 we talk about this issue on the southern border were to be joyed in the third site with the broadcast of this first half-hour former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo ACLJ, senior counsel for global affairs review. Go to today, you'll see right of the homepage I do post by Sec. Pompeo called all the southern border T. Biden is nowhere to be found in one of the questions were to be asking Sec. Pompeo is the euro they can to keep the root cause of this border crisis of their going to Costa Rica to go to the country but they're not going to the southern border. The question that that I would be asking Sec. Pompeo, one of us will be is actually by in his administration everything somewhat rhetorical that they are the root cause of the border crisis. They are the ones you said, COBOL, COBOL, try to get in this the best time to do it. What I can really say that he would away organ and related Mexico which is so that was working well for those who were actually seeking asylum. It said if you have a real asylum claim. You waited Mexico in agreement with Mexico to do that and that if you have a real claim, you'll be willing to wait because you got a real asylum claim that something we accept the United States of America.

We allow you to present forth in a court United States America to way to come to United States if you really are in fear of your life, your family's life but that's it. It's not about economic and it's clearly never about economic you cannot get asylum for economic purposes. It has to be your life in jeopardy serious bodily harm to you and your family for politics for position you take in gang violence, things like that but it has to be specific to your kids be I come from a violent city That come from poor city that's to be your target one or the other thing that did the promoting is that worrying about climates right as a basis upon which you can get asylum. I doubt that. So that's that. They haven't tried to add that that's in there, but they're saying right you're right them and they said that's part of the migration is right, then 100 climate change to your list of reasons are seeking asylum and it never would build six of us could have been any doubt to say because they're really concerned by climate change in these countries. We've also got my Pompeo's coming up in the third site with the broadcast first half-hour coming up next door you sought a victory old-school ACLJ Joe Frank Mandy will be joining us a second grader, get this. Still, 20, 21 has their Bible confiscated can't do that public schools talk to Frank about that give the details, but how did this happen again in 2021, of course, ACLJ got this resolved, but imagine you get a second graders got a Bible of the bag waves.

Somehow, of whatever reason, and they are told no, you can't do that. It's still something that is I think he always has the potential bed to come back especially this new woke world we live it where we might easily refine those battles. Know your ear absolutely night. I thank God that in the 1980s and 90s we went to the Supreme Court and successfully one and would come back and braille. Talk about the history that these cases were the students because Jordan's right. It will be deemed contraband. The Bible book. I am pretty mind years ago. 40 years ago said that this was in the 80s there treating the Bible as if this is best us in the ceiling tile you can't touch a grocer to get sick. And the reality is, and I think this is what's really important here is that woke Mrs. Doran talk about is coming back again now. Fortunately, we have the Supreme Court decisions already in play. So we got now were using them again to defend this time, a second grade we get details and I wanted you to take a look at this because we talk about big issues on this program for that second grader. That was a Supreme Court case. That's how they view it again.

I want to thank everybody for the support of the American Center for Law and Justice later in the broadcast grandmother, especially ranch. I will be joining us a studio as well so the merits of philologist and another victory to for the concert closet about Frank in the second half accept tubing ACLJ victory to talk about today and of course the border as well little talk about was Sec. Pompeo's new piece up again and on the southern border. T vibe is nowhere to be found to capture the challenges facing Americans or substantial time in our value freedom sword constitutional rights are under attack more important than ever to stay with the American Center for Law and Justice ACLJ on the frontlines projecting your freedoms defending your rights in courts in Congress and in the public arena and we have an exceptional track record of success. But here's the bottom line we could not do her work without your support, we remain committed to protecting your religious and constitutional freedoms then remains our top priority, especially now during these challenging times.

The American Center for Law and Justice is on your side, you're already a member. Thank you.

Not well this is the perfect time to stand with us where you can learn more about our life changing, member today ACLJ only one. A society can agree that the most vulnerable invoice is, is there any hope for that culture to survive. And that's exactly what you are saying when you stand with the American Center for Law and Justice defend the right to life, we've created a free and powerful publication offering a panoramic view of the ACLJ's battle for the unborn is called mission will show you how you are personally publication includes a look at all major ACLJ cases were fighting for the rights of pro-life activist ramifications 40 years later Planned Parenthood's role in the what Obama care means to discover many ways.

Your membership is empowering the right to question your free copy mission life today online ACLJ/recently ACLJ we heard from the parents of Gabrielle. She is a second grader in Illinois. She like to bring her Bible school. Read it during recess.

Sometimes you read out loud. I give her she's in a that reading level already and it sometimes other kids and they would listen daily talk to about it. What she really so is this a constitutional crisis. What was the school she was actually told her this is a second grader.

Think about that. They took her Bible teacher took her Bible and told her quote you just can't be doing that Frank may did see her cats with the ACLJ. Legal team Gabrielle's family because they contact weed out there.

The legal services don't cost you anything to assist you in these matters. We got a contact us so we know it happened. This was a brave second-grader family who said you know what work if were to stand up and fight, that's who it takes to make sure that the laws are in place to protect people like Gabriella and it kids like her are followed by the school so Africa may destroy is now on the air. He Frank that they should be with us a prayer limit.

Let me ask you this.

Okay so were looking at this divorce. This is 2021. Okay it's 20, 21, we've been arguing his case on a date is frankly been arguing these cases. Literally 40 years were getting close to it to 35 and 40 or anniversaries on some of these cases will possibly possess the school district to do this to this little girl made contact with a cut back in time again and not only even when you and I were you younger before we were even the law school. The anchor case that the knee, but the legal standard here for students in elementary schools and high school and yet the ignorance is still out there, even malicious. In this case. These school officials simply didn't know the law and that why you basically thought our goal here is educating the educators when we did try to make a silly distinction about which you can read it outside but you can't read it if recess is inside because there could be some sort of a captive audience and we make clear that we we did not get this limited know when a complaining none of the study is consistent what happens. No complaints by anybody know if they did observe. Sometimes somebody walked by a 10 Commandments monument is now.

I've seen it. Now I'm upset that here and that you know heckler's veto in play here and sort of an unarticulated fear by the teachers and the principal that based on this ACL you interpretation of separate separation of church is badly affected and we educated and after we didn't get a letter we didn't even have to threaten this case, we just that you know you're betting you really don't know much about this area. Here's what the law that you've got to show not just your weird and articulates clear that some kid or some parent my complaint shows some substantial disruption rightly spread of that school process that wasn't here not even hinted at here and back down. So here's what's important understand the reason I want to highlight this will highlight another case in the second about the broadcast focus on this one for the segment because in this culture that were now in, although we've had a number go through those in the minute we had great success on these cases. I mean, we had hundreds of these cases, but we had a series of cases Frank at the Supreme Court. I think of Americans that the Bible club case equal access case where we won that an eight to one in the Supreme Court said students don't shed their constitutional rights to freedom of speech establishment clause doesn't prohibit students from reading the Bible's singing songs that have religious theme. If you know you think about the Pledge of Allegiance casework.

Justice O'Connor wrote would be ironic indeed.

If a nation founded by religious refugees would sever the ties that bind to that history so we had a series of cases a lamp chapel where again they said you know this is heckler's veto the religious veto at Scilly' up famously in that case said the test that this report was using like with like a ghoul in a late-night horror show comprising it set up, put a stake in its heart is a monster and it still come back up and that's what Jordan you said your concern that's about to happen again in the local culture that when I went to Frank that if were going to be experiencing this one more time. Another that the sales that we have to go fully litigated that could be potentially down the road but I don't see the current make of the Supreme Court being an issue there with these cases, but that we might start have to deal with this again with with teachers especially and school administrators who are, even if they are not bad actors subpar summer just scared for their jobs and everything now that's deviated all controversial. You get to get our hands it kids and so you know, I wonder Frank and forgive us.

He had about the next session.

Kids are going to school. Default looks like everything he returned to normal. If rim see a wave of these very possible Jordan about backsliding going on here that well. We had a conservative way prolonged time and now. Maybe we'll going the other direction, so maybe all of the things that the conservatives accomplished can be low back will and that's why we're here to make sure that doesn't happen and people need to know that in addition to all of the other work.

The ACLJ.worldwide all over the place in many different areas. This is still bread-and-butter for us that your dad knows he was litigating an argument Supreme Court law when you were probably not even aware of it but I do think it what one thing they were watching out for now. Is this idea that all of this could come back every bit the idea that the especially aggressive school administrators and we were dealing with a lot of issues in our schools right now. Once it been trained in the last 10 years that it is I you think about things like that when I talk very critical race all those things are coming up. How do we teach this to what curriculum and etiquette brings a Bible to school. I could see that is right, especially when there when they are pre-high school, you know, we probably need to do Frank. We haven't done this in a decade and 1/2 may probably 20 years.

We used to send the F you remember this to every school district in the country at the beginning of the year and say here's what the law is students can have events like see what the pole students are allowed to have voluntary student initiated student led Bible club. The establishment clause doesn't allow government to treat the religious speaker differently than any other person, and we sent these letters out that had basically here's what and even under Bill Clinton's presidency. They had a list of things you could do in the schools were part of putting that together. I think it's probably with everything going on right now and with this the culture that were now living in Frank that maybe it's time to reeducate the school to just the beginning.

Sure you know by email.

Now we send it to every general counsel of every school board in the United States, probably a really good idea because I think you're right. I think that with time and shifting winds culturally and politically. People have lost sight of the victories that we gained your right and we can even mention the Clinton department of education guidelines which essentially read almost, almost like the letters that we were sending to school officials and maybe were were inspired to some extent by the letters we were setting but very clear.

The Clinton administration, but I do think there is a danger in the current climate of backsliding to a time that existed before those accomplishments were achieved and we just have to be vigilant with verbiage and vigilant about staff working on a letter for back-to-school mansard. It's already June be here before you know some skis go back in August.

Some of these cases, the frequent use language like this establishment clause doesn't license government to treat religious people religious practices is if they're subversive to the American Republic and subject to unique disabilities.

But that's exactly what they did to the second-grader they treated her differently than they would treat anybody else that was reading a book during recess Frank had been reading the cat in the hat while they do not get the other kids, but actually because that's what I'm talking about is like if you start going back to what we were dealing with, 80s, 90s were dealing with this kind of like censorship of books saying now and I you know that there's a lot a school administrators versus once were fighting on these various extremely liberal curriculum. They like to teach second graders that success of the stuff on sex ed the teaching of your public school system is outrageous to think it gets to second graders. They love to give her the Bible that can be on campus so Frank I think what we do is we get we probably have to redraft it is probably get a get Bill pulled the dust off it and update it, but I think this is a really good idea also Delilah on Facebook. This is a really good point.

She said, should you also send the letter to the PT associations that they are armed with the knowledge of the right and that is a really good idea so I'm sure there's a list of PTA because their official organizations. So Frank I think let's get a team working on this and let's get a letter out in August every school district in the country and all the PTAs and all the general councils. I think that's how we do it the school board so it's all I'm sure it's all online now so it'll be a male amount in the old days.

Remember that Frank filed no more problems no more, but working to get that information I think is a great win. I wanted people to understand it and they did is a good segment ranks and enjoys in the second half hour on the pro-life issue were that another big one that's right because Victor retyped a fair bit about that too in Washington DC because you got that you got these federal protections are put in place by the trust administration that were great for people on unconscious issues but is the buying team trying to undermine the poor and how are they trying to undermine that they started HHS. The wind over the Sec. of HHS. Is this not someone who is friendly to the pro-life cause. To say the least.

So talk to Frank give it.

We had a bit big victory. There is a government employee social worker is concentrates were detected. So talk to Frank again but company over the next segment say I live with this is set for Secretary of State Mike Pompeo back to the border issues for second back to the border issue. He said you piece up on the southern border to buy only one.

A society can agree that the most vulnerable invoice. Is there any hope for that culture to survive. And that's exactly what you are saying when you stand with the American Center for Law and Justice, defendant the right to life, we've created a free powerful publication offering a panoramic view of the ACLJ's battle for the unborn will show you how you are personally publication includes a look at all major ACLJ were fighting for the rights pro-life activists ramifications. 40 years later Planned Parenthood's role in what Obama care me in many ways your membership is empowering the right question mission in life today online/challenges facing Americans is time and are now stored constitutional rights are under attack more important than ever to stay with the American Center for Law and Justice on the frontlines projecting your freedoms and rights in court in Congress and in the public exceptional track record of success. But here's the bottom line we could not do our work without your support, we remain committed to protecting your religious and constitutional freedoms that remains our top priority, especially now during these challenging times.

The American Center for Law and Justice is on your side, you're already a member. Thank you. Not well this is the perfect time to stand with us ACLJ God where you can learn more about her life changing, member today seeing okay.

I guess everyone really think it's a miracle that 800-684-3110 20 is now the senior counsel for global affairs for Secretary of State and former director of the CIA, Mike Pompeo, Mike, I got a brand-new pieces were posting. I think right now on the southern border team bind is nowhere to be found. One of the questions that I we were asking ourselves in when they keep saying they want to get to the root causes of mass migration were were wondering are they root cause for mass migration here. One problem that they've done nothing to respond to it.

The bandit out all that we put in place a couple years to get it right believe we turn the magnet up we get in for service on the border with copy to Meditech crisis.

We kept our best to secure the impact in the they literally therapist problems that they nothing to see here folks.

They are completely absent from this enormous crisis. I think they think it just goes on market update will all forget, but I promise to the folks who are suffering from other human beings that are impacted that the people of Arizona text does not have a feeling live elsewhere will feel it right behind them with Turn away the darkness problem. After take. Possibility to secure American freedom and orders you don't hearing from people on the broadcast their calling from Texas are calling from Arizona, but they were also calling from the conference, Chicago, and their calling from Atlanta and their calling from, you know St. Louis because what happens is the traffickers once they get in then use the interstate system to distribute their drugs, sex trafficking with child trafficking, whatever it might be in late May immediately get out into the into the rest of the country so this border problem is not simply for those on the board. I think people understand that not all that I 35 core door is the active transit route that that little doubt that God human trafficking to take place alongside of that it will impact people every part of you that America small community. Fill out more got cheaper drugs that this not ramifications for years and years to comment as we now see tens of thousands of illegal immigrants plotting across the border. This is truly a challenge that that vitamin after take on American that every community will be adversely impacted if we don't get to stop immediately declared Texas a disaster.

Because of this that make you what is issues to be your article dress it to be. We now know that it's up ACLJ that are on the southern border team bind is nowhere to be found to check that out from Sec. Pompeo. That's right up on the homepage of They they've now officially when it was company but they officially put it into the were made in Mexico policy. We were talking about at least 68,000 people who were seeking asylum were told okay if you really believe that you got it asylum claim today. You have to wait in Mexico and then when it's your turn to present your case, you will be able go through the legal process here it's different than the immigration process. Now that that's been ended. What happens next meets already out of control see that though 68,000. What does that mean they get a green light to committed weight you write about that. I will be given to cross the border freely that the policy, not you have a valid claim for asylum were happy to prospect that will get there but you can't make a public claim show up to do that hang out in traffic.

Really? And why I may be able to stay forever. Get me by mother will give me that the magnet what you think that happened on those people who are ready to go on to the multiple want the chimeric demand and create the green light people in Central America… Guatemala that might come up to make myself claim that all add up to Denver and one fine day I'll get American that what they want to do it… What if America… The legal immigration that we have a place to spend the public immigration that allow system allow my grandparents coming just a generation and generations you let me see this. There is border agents working from them. Mike William from him a lot and they're saying that the hard left of the Democratic Party is pushing for defining ice and with the ice ages are basically saying a lot. They may not be funded us, but they have hamstrung us. We are our hands are tied because it's it's basically no enforcement so they effectively have abolished ice in a sense by their policies at the putting in place limiting what these agents can do, but on a further party becoming Democrat orthodoxy.

Remember what one of the folks described at the far left with the runner-up after candidate. Bernie Sanders, that they literally want to handcuff our age and physical risk as well – and yet the family send them off every morning knowing that they're going to confront people who may well harm them. Physical risk in the course to prevent them from doing jobs that with the jobs that the log required at this is that they 88 be affected by flight without taking the money later, especially taking away all the tools that they last four years to secure the border to gain your finger far right law enforcement people in the southern part of the country as well is clear that the binder ministration system scared to actually visit the border, then what that imagery, they don't want that picture then what that video then it will actually see it for themselves in person, but what they tell us is that while they were to go to Costa Rica to meet with people were working to handle this diplomatically. I think you can speak to this. There's obviously a diplomatic component to this. Yet you worked out the remaining Mexico plant. You had to work on that with Mexico. If you don't actually go see what you're dealing with. You just traveling around these root causes. We talk about the hamstrings, the ability to actually use the diplomacy like really let people know about impacted by election by the that's certainly our lawn port that you know that you travel to Mexico as well. The country that helped at the North thought that it was that policy with a diplomatic way with the back government. It delivered delivered good outcomes, US Emperor, Mexico, and certainly for the people being trafficked. You gotta confront you got a listen you have to learn you have to understand the context. If you can't do that if you can't confronted fit precisely what we think of people coming across the border presenting a garment script all less than a minute and 1/2 year this problem for the country.

How significant is it certainly a immigration order problem but it beyond that, we think that now moving into our country. We know that the risk that they'll be folks come not from Central America but others will be attracted With that character. Criminals want to come to our country.

This risk is where we have a responsibility that it has responsibility to know who's coming in and out of our country secure that order of the light Katie bar the door and are all kinds of national security that Jack Mike pence is director of the Central intelligence agency, former Sec. Pompeo is the former director of the Central intelligence agency and the former of course, Secretary of State was a slip back next thing President or vice President who knows you and I coursing a Council global affairs for the Thanksgiving with us is always and I think that what we will talk to about half in the coming days. It's that my compound thought it might easily as you think you think. Yes the computer but also kind of a lot, which I met yesterday with this summit with I was 16 so I wouldn't have you two today. We had we had time to talk about it with our senior counsel for global affairs and come right back. Second half hours ACLJ on the front lines protecting your freedoms and rights in court in Congress and in the public arena. The American Center for Law and Justice is on your side, you're already a member. If you're not well this is the perfect time to stand with where you can learn more about her life-changing work, member today ACLJ live from Washington DC and secular programs to 100-6431 two there is a pack today.

We got a freak baby will be joining us again this second half of the broadcast I got another ACLJ victory on the conscience protections I did. I John Rich will be in the studio with us here at it in the last segment broadcast all that live that pretaped trees like that when I did want to talk to for bigger, better director, government affairs out right away on this conscience issue so are you seeing this come up.

They were always fighting coxes. Even with the rules are good and the laws are good you stop the fight because he's administrators, staff they don't know what the law is they don't know what the rules are suited to educate the but they had. How is in danger are those good conscience protections are put in place by the Trump administration by the new Sec. of HHS yet. Are there definitely endangered Jordan like we talk about this a lot. But in order to properly defend conscience protections that are in line. You need a couple of things depending on the context depending which right you're talking about either one, you need an administration who is willing to enforce those laws. You heard Frank talk about some of the conscience protections that have been in statute for decades now. I talked about the church amendment I talk about the Weldon amendment coming up. There's a whole mosaic of them, Jordan, but you need any ministration that is willing to enforce those enduring the Trump administration we saw incredible strides made at you to protect the statutory protections. I think probably the best example is the office that was set up inside the Department of Health and Human Services to actually enforce these provisions and we won several actions under those the other thing you need in a different context. Jordan it is with what Frank talk about in the last seven. You need people who actually see these rights stepped on and infringed on ground ground level. Being willing to stand with the ACLJ to advance herself in this current posture that were in to answer your question, we can certainly continue the latter and it's more important than ever because those violations are going to happen. But here's the thing Jordan we're not going to see enforcement on the on the agency level out of Washington DC so were going to have to engage them in the courts and on the ground outlook were at work and continue to fight back or to continue to insist that the agencies enforce the law. But here's the reality Jordan organ have to take more of these claims to the case-by-case level of the Frank talk about just a couple segments ago Gabby this this is the issue never to talk about. I get another one of these victories with Frank in the next segment the stance that it is important that while we get these victories. We understand that you gotta have rules of the book. Also how you enforce the rules yeah and that's what the agencies do they they say okay here's the law, how do they execute the law, that's article executive branch so the law gets past the protection gets passed and had to figure out how to actually put in place it would, and that they can supply discretion when you sit in the first half that for same in the broadcast. Actually met this new cultural waken that we have all the sudden your pro-life is now also treated discriminatory and a lot of the cases that we dealt with in the 70s and ashes, 80s and 90s really are not coming back to full force when conscious cases all the time.

This was interesting that were to talk about because it involves a federal agency also.

We got a hostile HHS the most Xavier Matera is the most hostile pro-abortion antilife HHS Sec. we have ever had. Certainly my lifetime, and this is the fight against crisis pregnancy centers mandating that they have to refer for abortion which by the way, in the case are about to learn about is exactly the same thing to social workers who said the issue never even came up when they were forced or required to sign a statement acknowledging that reproductive health care included abortion referrals yet refer to abortion if somebody doesn't want to do it. There's 10 other social workers that are willing to do it with this social work because it's critically said no I don't want to do what happens. That's when we talk about during the rape again. The ACLJ sure global issues national broadcasts international broadcast but also write down of the school board. One case the school actually nutcase for the second-grader in this case federal agency and that's what makes us unique with Frank on the my compound was ACLJ Tiberi Pickwick McAnally silty team members Frank will be back on this this again. It just shows you the depth and scope of our work from the grassroots level to the international level as well be back talk about the pictures the challenges facing Americans as time when our Valley freedoms for constitutional rights are under attack more important than ever with the American Center for Law and Justice on the frontlines projecting your freedoms defending your rights in courts in Congress and in the public arena and we have an exceptional track record of success.

But here's the bottom line we could not do our work without your support, we remain committed to protecting your religious and constitutional freedoms that remains our top priority, especially now during these challenging times. The American Center for Law and Justice is on your side, you're already a member. Thank you.

Well, this is the perfect time to stand with us ACLJ.where you can learn more about her life changing become a member today ACLJ only one. A society can agree that the most vulnerable enforce. Is there any hope for that culture to survive. And that's exactly what you are saying the American Center for Law and Justice defend the rights of life, we created a free powerful publication offering a panoramic view of the ACLJ's battle for the unborn gold light will show you how you are personally publication includes all major ACLJ were fighting for the rights of pro-life activist ramifications 40 years later, planned parenthood's role in the Obama care means many ways. Your membership is powering the right question for mission life today online/baby Julius gets your accounts with ACLJ shifting from that that victory for the second-grader. The Bible here is an issue so I just kind of how we how we handle this late March.

ACLJ gets contacted by Julie, and he works as a social worker at a federally qualified health center large city on the East Coast to provide healthcare for the homeless to research great work that they're doing their then what's interesting is your abortion is not like at the top topics in for people running ever comes out on this ever comes up as an issue is that the issue but Bill and his co-employees were recently asked to side it acknowledged. Why do you think this was written not by the way elections have consequences were just talking without that but it where these concerts protection cell so they got a the HR directors at these federal centers got these new notices. They were asked to sign it acknowledged new reproductive health care policy in the they were interpreting that is requiring social workers like Bill to provide information to clients about where they could obtain abortions.optional side the policy or find a job somewhere else.

No quote choice for Bill, and this again new administration. These policy guidelines. I'm sure without all across the country for all the agents that he was willing to contact us and fight back. Yes.

So here's the this is typically how these come up is a new policies put in place or policy is interpreted in a very different way. And then there is this legal challenge.

Now Frank in this case we've been handling for fault we talk about conscience clause conscious cases.

Let's let's give an overview what that mean we represented doctors, nurses, pharmacists, social workers, I made the whole. Let's describe for everybody. What that is typically what happens.

So it merely rises in employment often government employment but not necessarily deprive employment to an employee is told from now on you have to participate in referral for book appointments for me with you and represented receptionist in places and successful outcomes and it's somebody who describes himself as pro-life or Christian or any other religion or no religion describe themselves as pro-life is that my conscience won't let me do that they contact us, what can I do I'm going to be fired if I don't sign this policy or I was fired because like refuse to participate in abortion or abortion -related procedure, and then we go to work and we tap into what we call a mosaic of federal and state laws is been on the books for decades, really since 1973 exactly was it was passed in response to Rotary like by a huge bipartisan majority in both houses of Congress think after Sen. Frank Church, a liberal democratic time is what I recall right, and so we go to work for them on those issues for the past four years we had some friends at the Department of HHS who not only look favorably on on these kind of cases that describe the conscience and religious freedom division, which we also referred people to so sometimes we try to go to court. Very often we don't have to go to court, we can get by with a demand letter sometimes you have to do administrative agency proceeding. But whatever it takes.

We see it is our job to defend the rights of conscience for pro-lifers in the workplace and here's a case where an you you indicated in both human and George have a look at what scares me about this, suddenly in March and here's the Skype bill has been working at this agency for years. Years. Now he's dealing basically with drug addicted people in an inner-city and his job at is to try and find them housing try to find a medical assistant. Whatever social services they need to turn their lives around and all of a sudden it becomes a job it has something to do with abortion and if you don't agree to refer people for abortions, you're going to be fired and I didn't course investigated this and he said there are half a dozen people here who have no problem doing that why must I do it yet. He was told he had to do it.

This is because, again, this is kind of the return of the cases been handling forever, and this is because these agencies is drawn as you said send out memos send out guidance and its agencywide or sometimes interagency saying hey look, by the way work. This is the policy administration we want everybody to have access to healthcare. By the way, that includes abortion referrals and then you got an HHS Sec. would tell crisis pregnancy centers.

You better have abortion referrals up on a sign outside by the brightest records and I don't get to do that but that's what's happened here.

Yeah that I would have had to as well because then we also retire at the height of the Biden administration is going right at that they would love nothing got the votes right out of the Senate to do it because of the filibusters still there in place but another election cycle goes there way. I don't think it will, but if it does this is this is in their their sites as well is getting rid of the height of the text. It's no longer imaginary Jordan, I mean like a lot of people who supported Pres. Biden said well at least he's moderate on the issue of liking and he supports the Hyde amendment.

He's gonna defend the right of American taxpayers not to have to pay for abortions in the United States, well look at it if that was true. Decades ago, it's no longer true today. We have in black-and-white. Now Jordan, the President just last week sent his proposed budget to the United States Congress. Now that budget is not the one that ultimately makes it into US law, but it lays out the policy priorities of the sitting President and one of those pile policies was a proposal to end the Hyde amendment completely not to scale it back not to work around the edges to get rid of it completely, and Jordan. What is the Hyde amendment. At its core a core it's really a conscience protection for the roughly 2/3 of Americans, including many on the pro-choice side of the ledger, who Thursday.

Look, we don't think our taxpayer dollars should be used for abortions. Make no mistake about it.

Now Jordan, there can be no hedging, there is a proposed budget from Pres. Biden sitting in the house and the Senate. That is, vice President Pres. Biden saying I want to get rid of the hide and and that's really a conscience violation at its core.

Jordan and I I'm I think about this frankness, like it's you it's like it's here goes again. And in this particular case with Bill where abortion did not come up in his day-to-day work is forced to sign a policy about abortion referral.

He says no, let's walk through everybody. What took place. You can support the people and sometimes doesn't think such trial jury trials on these cases before but most of the time. That's not the case. Talk about what happened here. We were able to put together a letter outlining for the legal counsel for the federal agency worked for the case you don't know what there are federal laws that fit what you're asking that were demanding that the Skype do is illegal and the most obvious one is the so-called Weldon meant that the 1990s.

I think that says that no recipient of federal money can require its employees to refer in the word refers right in the act referral for abortion. That's what they were telling this gentleman. He had to do. We also cited the church amendment. We also cited general employment law such as title VII, which places on the employer of the burden of trying to make a reasonable accommodation on the employee's religious belief is not an absolute demand that you have to do everything that a religious objector says to do, but you have to make an effort to accommodate them so that applies even the non-federal government employee context, but in the federal employment context where an employer receives federal money. They are strictly limited. I share the concern that there have been voiced. Especially by sand that with the Hyde amendment no longer in the budget at least as proposed.

Are these other laws. In jeopardy, and they may be thought that would happen, but the radical nature of the abortion position to be taken by this administration goes beyond anything we saw under clinical and that's what's frightening. I guess their political and cultural reasons for that to live these conscience protections don't enforce themselves of people who find themselves in these situations can reach out to us and if it's the case that we think is valid. We will go to work on it. I asked Stan Bennett this week we got these statutory protections discuss these protections love the stats protections on the endangered ARJ been proposed by the present United States. That's the first step I like like sometimes in these cases J the school or the entity knows a lot.

I think of predication in the one we talked about earlier, but other times J maybe maybe the entity knows why they don't care because they know the administration is not can enforce. And that's the danger, and now about luck it if if they are allowed to take that step. What's the next step. The next step is to remove the statutory protections altogether so we need to find it now while they're being threatened us to the Washington DC doesn't feel unable to remove the statutory protections altogether. We've represented physicians that that were heads of departments on these issues. It really does run the gamut it runs the gamut that nurses will pharmacist lots of pharmacist and basically everybody in the medical field that finds himself confronted with the life issue in the workplace can have this problem and these laws for the most part protect all somewhat more specific than others, but we do our level best to find the statutory or the administrative with constitutional arguments that best apply to the particular situation. But again, they don't enforce themselves and with the current with the current climate they're not to be enforced by federal agencies. At present I think Frank can we come back to John Rich be joining us in the city alive as well. See Artemis that is always here stay up to date on all the pieces are working on the street think Frank is talking about this really seemed to waver. This I think you know we saw the 80s that I'm overseeing some major changes yet we have a covert crisis to school and they were different to come back with a come back with a whole new curriculum and very different. Yes – this case to carry out here for you as well.

Only when a society can agree most vulnerable invoice. Is there any hope for that culture to survive. I will say that we have recommended about a second-grader that had a Bible band which I can believe in the year 2021. We had a mentioned, let alone handle then we have Frank come on, a little bit later.

Talk about a conscience clause cases, those have been ongoing but again it's kind of in this new culture that were living in these kind of things now become more pronounced.

We had Mike Pompeo, former Secretary of State, former Dir. of Central intelligence agency in our senior counsel for global affairs talking about what's not happening on the border and what is happening on the border may be that the root cause that border problems by the administration themselves as they're interested in because now joined by her friend John Rich hereunder set in a few minutes John jammin out upstairs with the band which I'm looking forward to. By the way, I John we just gone through. It's not that you're not will talk about week we calculated it when my guys got back together to play music again and 16 months since we had all been in the same and we did some virtual stuff for people, but to be in the same room you a business event in multiple businesses explain the stress that was put on businesses this last year and 1/2 people your business owner when your note is obviously a single entertainer but business you do so, and we all understood expressing beginning, which I'm sure to remind everybody remember when that announcement of COBIT 19 came across the news and were all seeing it for the first time the images they were showing us J was images from China of people dropping dead in the street in hazmat suits on the sidewalks and bodies get loaded on the flatbed trucks and that's our first thing that we saw, but scared everyone to death, including me, including on the President then Pres. Trump yet until they were telling him to be doing 1/2 million Americans so like if that's what it is, then I will do whatever we gotta do to keep everybody safe. Okay, so that's how it started. If you notice we never saw those images again past March Sunnyvale strap and in the streets of COBIT 19 S. that suspect to me in the beginning, but it put us into such a mindset of fear in this country that we were all willing to do whatever we needed to do. But then, here's where it here's where it got really hard to deal with when you have, for instance, like the mayor of Nashville telling business owners on a big a big bar downtown Nashville. He said restaurants that serve liquor can stay open, but bars that serve food have to close or my favorite which there's a great example of ridiculous or churches, religious institutions were told this. It will allow you to have input when they allowed you to have a person initially no, it would be 25% of your capacity of your worship center or 25 people, whichever is less. So you can have a 5000 seat worship center which are churches in this area. Believe me, that doing that kind of 25 people that made sense, but yet that was that the mindset now. The rebound though. I want to give hope to people I would like to give up the rebound has been incredible. The pent-up people are ready to reopen America.

They are back as so we know it my business downtown redneck Riviera is what's called we are bouncing our numbers now off of 2019 2021. Janet was zero and were up like 63%. Right now year-over-year day by day you put the dates back to back people are out in force that they like you said, the pent-up demand. I think they're glad that they can find to get out and be a normal American again.

I never liked like that phrase new normal. There's no new normal. There's just normal right were going back to that so it is good to see Nashville filling up one of the things that has me concerned. I'm hearing from business owners all over the country and especially in areas that are known for the national course is a big first community blood force coming in, but also big populace. But, like in Florida when I'm hearing is in North Carolina saw this just yesterday and outside of Nashville Northville in a town called Waynesville beautiful town restaurant. It's been there for 65 years cannot open yesterday because I cannot get help now they can't get help in part because the government been sending out checks that that are kind of depressing the ability of people to work and that is the problem it's incentivizing them to stay home. Basically I said yesterday to do my when I said this is socialism.

This is this is how socialism starts to incentivize people to not have incentive yeah I mean you give them no reason to want to go work or strive or chase the American dream or pursue happiness. The one thing that they're forgetting is that government can never give you as much as you can earn on your own right, only to give you enough to barely get by whatever they consider getting biased you go out on your own and you go work you can smoke that number. If you gladden work so to take that bait and swallow it. That's a dangerous thing for Americans today.

Unfortunately, it is happening and what's happening is especially to small businesses and this is the thing that concerns me is these well-established small business. I think this restaurant John been in business since 1954, which is two years old 67 years they have been there and the end result of that is they can open yesterday now, and hopefully have a look today to see if there open, but this building in a disincentive to work is what this administration seems to be bent on doing right now what you know, we used to say, you know they're all a bunch of socialists used to say that they go. Oh go back to the basement, put your Temple hat back on John. No, they're not there just there, they just think differently than you and now we don't have to accuse him of being selfless because they are putting set there like world about socialism.

We might even be from more than what socialism is yeah which is moving in on the C word so it's it's it's deftly dangerous what they're trying to put in the plan. I hope Americans don't accept it.

The idea that that socialism accepted norm Mac I can I will never believe in the days of the sea were communism.

My grandparents fled the Soviet Union they were Russian revolution happened, they were targeted because of their faith, our communities were wiped out and they left to come to the land of freedom became legally took my grandfather 14 years to get his citizenship. Amanda, my daughter-in-law found my grandfather's certificate of civil citizenship. While signed by a US District Court judge in Brooklyn, New York online somewhere and blow it up, same-sex hello there, it is 14 years become a citizen and and the rest is is history and sense of meaning I'm only the second generation of my family born United States, but we got this mindset right now that anything goes, no parameters and no just give, and I am often look, I'm offer incentive working with incentives. I think that's the American that's what capitalism is and I think employers have an obligation to share that with their employees and think that's part of how we should do it but I don't want the government telling me how to do it and that's the problem with what's going on right now that Rahm Emanuel famously said never let a good crisis go to waste. And that's exactly what they're doing right now you know the story of of of your family coming over I speak to people to that that have come here as immigrants. Their parents were, and they say that there's this Eastern European guy is a great contractor Nashville that I hire all the time to do step got a heavy accent and everything it took him 11 years to become a citizen says John. The problem is, Americans have never gone without what they have.

They don't understand what it's actually like to live in a commish socialist country and the problem is, if it ever goes there. There is no reversing that. That's why we don't stay in our home countries. Hoping someday it's gonna change because it ain't gonna change if it ever happens in America were stuck with it. That's what you call the country of origin but is not the country of destination my families country of origin was Russian country of destination United States of America left in the door for the broadcast today. Now if you minutes, then I can see this today, but I'm get get up on our band room upstairs in our studios here and really Helen Robert John Rich final guitar single songs have a good time. It's a Americans back. It's the summer that the whole band here.

It's nice to have the guys, not by virtual screens having John Richard course this adds so much to it and again follow Johnny's got this piece on twitter Facebook was big and Rich and so many other songs that he's done solo career and I can do a couple with our family.

Looking forward to that again. Have a great day everybody stayed to stay engaged ACLJ.Borg that's ACLJ not talking ACLJ on the frontline protecting your rights in court in Congress and in the public arena. The American Center for Law and Justice is on your side. If you're already a member.
