The Power of the Holy Spirit

The early church, empowered by the Holy Spirit, experienced a once-and-for-all event on the day of Pentecost, where thousands were convicted of their sin and brought to lively faith in Jesus Christ. This event marked the beginning of the church's expansion, as the gospel spread from Jerusalem to Judea, Samaria, and eventually to the ends of the earth. The Holy Spirit's work in the church is characterized by regular ministry, individual refreshment, and awakening, as well as community-wide revival. The church's primary focus should be on the preaching of the word, fellowship, and worship, as these are the hallmarks of the church's life together in the power of the Holy Spirit.
