Uh Welcome to Prophecy Today. I'm Jimmy DeYoung Jr. And along with my brother Rick, we examine current events in the light of God's prophetic word. I'm reminded of a phrase, today is the day of salvation. Isaiah said it in chapter 49 of the book of Isaiah, and Paul mentioned it in the book of 2 Corinthians 6, verse 2.
Today is the day of salvation. And after looking at all the topics we're going to cover today, examining current events, I would encourage you to remind others that this is the day of salvation. Folks, we've got a great program today. Ken Timmerman, David Dolan, Israel Madad, Rabbi Yehuda Glick, an assassination attempt was made on his life. He used to work with the Temple Institute.
Now he has a foundation getting people aware of the rebuilding of a temple on the holy mountain of God in the city of Jerusalem. And then we'll wrap up the program with Dr. Andy Woods today.
So let's get going, Rick. We've got a lot to cover. Let's start with our first, Ken Timmerman.
Well, Jimmy, that's right. We have our regular broadcast partner, Ken Timmerman, with us to talk about geopolitics. Ken is an author and analyst. You can find out more about him by going to his website at kentimmerman.com. Ken, thanks for joining us.
Thanks for having me on, Rick. It's always a pleasure.
Well Ken, we'll start out in Russia, the Russia-Ukraine crisis. Very hard to kind of decipher what is going on there with the back and forth between the two. Can you give us an update on the situation in Russia?
Well, what's surprising, Rick, is that it's now been three weeks since the Ukrainians made this thrust into the Kursk region in Russia. They are near a large nuclear reactor. The International Atomic Energy Agency has sent its chief, Raphiel Grossi, to Russia to try to inspect the reactor. It's unclear what the game plan here is of the Ukrainians. They've been there for three weeks.
They haven't pulled back. They are now building defenses. They're digging in. And most curiously, Rick, is that the Russians have not diverted forces, large numbers of forces, to displace them. It looks like the Russians are Essentially, allowing the Ukrainians to stay in the Kursk region as long as they remain there, circumscribed in that particular region and don't expand further.
They don't want to take forces away from the front in eastern Ukraine. And that's the thing.
So the Russians are advancing in eastern Ukraine, Ukrainians are advancing in Western Russia. And it's going to be, it's kind of who blinks first. Are the Russians going to worry about a significant additional advance of the Ukrainians into Russian territory? Or are the Russians going to manage to complete their takeover of eastern Ukraine? Rick, at the end, this ends in negotiations.
We aren't there yet. Neither party seems ready to get to the negotiating table. I think both of them are waiting for the November elections in the United States.
Well, we are certainly all keeping an eye on those November elections upcoming, but just a follow-up question, Ken. How much time does Zelensky, the Ukrainian leader, have before he loses the support of his people in this long, tough war that they are facing?
Well, you know, one thing, Rick, that's kind of curious here: the United States, at least President Biden, continues to say that we are defending democracy in Ukraine, and yet Vlodymir Zelensky is now becoming like the head of the Palestinian Authority. His term has lapsed over a year ago. He has not held elections, giving the excuse that the nation is at war. Remember, we had elections in the United States in 1944 during World War II. The Brits held elections as well.
They changed prime ministers twice, first to bring in Churchill and then to kick Churchill out later on after the war. There's really no excuse for Ukraine not holding elections. Zelensky has suspended those elections.
So to say that we are defending democracy now. does appear a bit contradictory.
Well, it certainly does, Ken. And another thing that this Russia-Ukraine crisis has pointed out is the fact that the European Union has a relative weakness when it comes to defending themselves against Russia. There are those that are saying that the EU must step up arms production internally to face future threats. But another situation that they are dealing with now and will continue to deal with in the future is the so-called migrant crisis. Essentially, a large influx of immigration into European countries from mainly Islamic countries.
And this is creating a situation. And in Germany, there's a large criminal element attached to this, and they are looking to deal with it with what they call knife control. Can you talk about that? Yeah, this is a little bit ironic. It's kind of like saying the guns kill people, people don't kill people.
So the Germans are saying, well, it's the knives that are killing people, it's not these immigrant Muslims who are killing people. It's frankly a little bit pathetic. They've had a rage of knifings by Muslim immigrants in the past couple of weeks, Rick, and Syrian Muslim refugees and others, people supporting ISIS. They've been killing German citizens in crowds using knives. And remember, also, Rick, there were those three Taylor Swift concerts in Vienna that were canceled in early, in mid-August, because of a threat of ISIS terror attacks.
The deputy director of the CIA said this past week that he thought the attacks, had they been successful, and the CIA claimed that they had helped thwart those attacks, could have killed tens of thousands of people. I mean, tens of thousands of people, mass terror events, bigger than the 9-11 attacks in the United States.
Now, given what we know about those attacks, which would have been with knives and with improvised explosives, I think that is. Vastly exaggerated, but nevertheless, Rick, we're seeing. Homegrown terrorism in Europe by people who associate themselves with ISIS or al-Qaeda, and we're seeing these Muslim immigrants also launching these terror attacks. And the German socialist chancellor is saying, let's blame the knives. Let's not look at the immigrants.
Let's not look at the Muslims who are wielding the knives.
Well, Ken, let's turn our attention quickly to the Middle East. And we have been waiting for a possible reprisal attack from Iran on Israel. That is not forthcoming. There was some activity in the north with Hezbollah and Israel this past week. But we are still waiting to see what Iran is going to do, aren't we?
Well, Rick, we had this attack by Israel into Lebanon earlier this week, and they said it was a preventive measure. They saw that Hezbollah was preparing to launch a massive attack on Israel. The Israelis claimed that they took out several thousand rockets and drones. Hezbollah nevertheless managed to launch several hundred of them into Israel. None of them did any damage, any appreciable damage at least.
And all of this came as the top U.S. general, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Charles Q. Brown, was visiting Israel. He was there just a day after those attacks, showing that the United States, even under President Biden, is standing shoulder to shoulder with Israel. I think, really, the game plan here, again, between the United States and the Israelis, is to prevent a massive escalation into a regional war.
They don't want that to happen. That's why they launched a preventative attack on Hezbollah. Hezbollah claimed victory, by the way, after this exchange. Between the two of them, and they show these amazing videos of new, expansive, enormous tunnels in Lebanon where they could fire their rockets from inside the tunnels against Israel from trucks.
So, there was enormous tunnels large enough that trucks could be driving inside of them. They have huge capabilities, Rick. Those capabilities have been built up by the Iranians. They've been aided by American money because we have unfrozen Iranian assets. We've given them, under President Biden, over $6 billion for five U.S.
hostages. This is a situation that should not. Be getting as severe as it is, but the United States has actually helped Hezbollah. Through the Iranian regime.
Well, Ken, of course, this is a very serious situation, especially with Iran looking to develop a nuclear bomb and maybe being on the brink of doing that. And we want to highlight that because right now we are looking at electing a new president here in the United States, whether it's former President Trump or Vice President Kamala Harris. If you could, in our last question here, could you talk a little bit and compare and contrast the way these two administrations would handle Iran?
Well, this past week, the International Atomic Energy Agency released its quarterly report, and they said that Iran continues to enrich uranium to 60%, which is really weapons grade. Another 24 kilograms, which is essentially gives them another half a weapons' worth of material. And this goes on despite all of the sanctions by the United States and the UN against Iran for this and the condemned, the international condemnation of the Iranian nuclear weapons program. My concern, Rick, is that you have a guy like Philip Gordon, who's Kamala Harris's national security advisor, who's been touted to be her Secretary of State nominee, should Kamala Harris win the presidency. He has been very closely associated with the pro-Tehran lobby in the United States, the National Iranian Council, Iranian American Council, NIAC.
He's spoken at their events. He's done fundraisers for them. He's even written op-eds, co-written op-eds with people who are. On their board who work for NIAC, this is a very, very troubling thing. I mean, think, Rick, what if a candidate for the United States in 1940 had their Secretary of State nominee be working with the Nazi Bund, the pro-you know, the German Bund, the pro-Nazi German Bund in the United States?
That's what you have with Kamala Harris. Harris, I think, is extremely troubling. It is not being reported by the national media. I'm glad that you've given me an opportunity to actually mention this, but this is a tremendous danger for the United States, and it should be something that no candidate, whether Democrat or Republican, should even consider. And yet, Kamala Harris thinks this is perfectly normal.
Well, Ken, that just emphasizes the fact that we have you on this program to help us point things like that out. As always, we appreciate your report, Ken. We look forward to talking to you again soon. Thanks so much, Rick. God bless.
Great job as always, Ken. And I think it's remarkable how little America's media and political establishments talk about the humanitarian implications of the war in Ukraine. Hundreds of thousands of innocents have been killed. An entire generation of Ukrainians wiped out. And still, Permanent Washington insists on using tax dollars, U.S.
tax dollars, to prolong this conflict.
So much is happening. And remember, Matthew 24 talks about wars and rumors of wars. And then the end will come. And that's a passage that we need to remember: that it is helping us to understand the times in which we're living.
Well, we got to take a break. And when we come back, our Middle East news update. And we'll focus on Israel. In fact, For the next half hour, we'll be focusing on Israel right here on Promising Today weekend. I'm Ruth Kramer with Mission Network News.
Deputy CIA Director David Cohen says Russian forces face a difficult fight in retaking the Kursk region, captured by Ukrainian forces earlier this month. Slavic Gospel Association's Eric Mox says Russian church partners are helping people displaced by Ukraine's ongoing incursion. While the dynamics of this conflict are constantly changing as the battle lines are changing, the response of the church is unchanging. Churches are providing families with food, medicines, hygiene items, and most importantly, the hope of Christ. When all human aspects of hope have been taken away, people often see clearly the only hope they have is to throw themselves on the mercy of God.
No raging of man, no ugliness of war can strip the hope of the gospel. From God's children. And back-to-school season is underway in the United States, and while some kids enter this season with excitement, others dread the thought of peer interactions and bullying. For parents, higher back-to-school costs and economic uncertainties add another layer of angst. Yet, fewer believers are tapping into the only true source of hope and peace.
Keys for Kids Greg Yetter says. The number of families in God's word every day drastically down. 40% of Christians actually read their Bible outside of church. That means 60% of people are not reading their Bibles outside of church. Keys for Kids offers daily print and digital devotionals that help kids, teens, and families unlock biblical truths and keep Christ at the center of their lives.
Getting kids into God's Word helps them discover his promises and grow in their faith. Find your place in the story at missionnews.org. Thanks for listening to Mission Network News, a service of one-way ministries. We're listeners supported by people just like you.

Well, this is the portion of our program. We call it our Middle East News Update. We look at news coming out of Israel in particular, but the Middle East in general. To do that, we have with us journalist Dave Dolan. Dave, thanks for being with us today.
It's always a blessing, Rick.
Well Dave, let's get started with our update. You give us an update every week as to what is taking place in Israel. What's the latest?
Well, of course, fighting continuing down in the Gaza Strip Rick, especially intense again in the south, where more tunnels were destroyed during the week. And good news, Israeli hostage, an Arab Israeli Bedouin who was a guard at one of the kibbutz that was attacked on october seventh, he was found sitting alone in a tunnel. And apparently, Hamas knew that the IDF was around and they took off and just left him there. And at first, they thought he was a Hamas member, but he immediately spoke to them in Hebrew and said, I'm an Israeli, and they brought him home. And of course, that was joyous news.
But the week began, Rick, in the north with the heaviest Hezbollah attacks so far of the war, their revenge for the killing of the number two Hezbollah leader by Israel about a month ago in Beirut. Over four thousand rockets were fired into Israel. Hundreds of drones were launched into Israel, and Hezbollah is claiming still that. Two of those drones did attack the Mossad headquarters, the Secret Service headquarters for Israel, north of Tel Aviv. Israel hasn't confirmed that.
But of course, Israel launched a preemptive strike just an hour, they said before. All of this massive weaponry, much more would have come in had they not done that. And they took out with using over 100 aircraft, they took out hundreds of these rocket launchers and sites and killed some Hezbollah personnel there.
So and in the meantime, we've had more rocket attacks all week from Hezbollah, including last night in the north. And then, Rick, we have almost a new warfront, although it's not new. It's been going on, it's been building up, just like in Lebanon. But in the northern Samaria area, the northern West Bank, the world would say, in three locations, and Israel called it Operation Summer Camps, because two of the locations are Palestinian refugee camps, even though really they're just parts of towns and cities now. Janine was the head of that, the center of it.
And on Friday, the IDF announced they killed the head of Hamas for that city, who was believed to have planned the attempted suicide attack last week in Tel Aviv Rick. And you may recall, a Palestinian from there, from northern Samaria, prematurely blew himself up, they think, because he was heading into a synagogue, a packed synagogue, and would have killed probably dozens of people had his bomb not exploded as he was triggering it or as he was loading it outside the doors of the synagogue.
So that's what prompted this operation. It's been going on for over three days now. that will continue. And meanwhile, finally, I'll say we have the overall head of Hamas outside of Gaza now, which is Khaled Mashal. He used to be the overall commander of the force.
He called for suicide bombings to be resumed.
Well, of course, they tried last week. That was an eight kilogram bomb. It would have done a lot of damage. He was speaking at a conference in Turkey. He said resistance operations in the West Bank are escalating despite harsh conditions.
and he called for a return to martyrdom operations.
So and he slammed the US ceasefire attempts, which are going nowhere. And that led to a very heated cabinet meeting on Thursday night in which Israel voted eight to one to the security ministers to remain in the southern Gaza Philadelphia corridor. And of course, the Palestinians are demanding that that be not the case. And there were some heated words apparently between the Prime Minister and the Defence Minister over that issue.
Well, Dave, I want to break down parts of your update there, and I want to talk about this split between Prime Minister Netanyahu and Defense Minister Galant, the disagreement they had very public. Does this represent instability in the Israeli politic, the Israeli government?
Well, of course, Rick, there's been tensions between those two leaders for some time now. And Galant was set to resign a few months back and then was talked out of it. But he's a member of the Prime Minister's own Likud party, so they should be getting along better. But Galant apparently shouted at the Prime Minister that this surprise vote to retain control of the southern corridor area of Gaza. It wasn't pre-announced by Netanyahu.
He just suddenly sprung it on the cabinet as they were about to go home, actually. But overwhelmingly, it was supported. Eight to one, like I said, Gallant's opposing it. And he said this will kill any possibility of a hostage deal.
So he said, basically, you're asking us to seal the death notices of the hostage. Hostages, something to that effect, anyway. And Netanyahu replied quite strongly that there's no way they can allow. that corridor to go back to Hamas control. And Galan answered saying, well, the security leadership in our different agencies are all saying we can have security without controlling that.
And Netanyahu apparently shot back, yes, that's what they said when we pulled out of Lebanon in two thousand. That's what they said. And of course, Hezbollah took over. That's what they said after the 2006 Hezbollah-Israel war and Hezbollah again came down to the border. He said that's what they said in Gaza in 2005 before the withdrawal.
We can take care of any Hamas activity. And of course, Netanyahu was the loudest voice at the time saying, This is going to be Hamas stand. They're going to attack us all the time from there, which, of course, he pointed out is what has happened over 19 years.
So he said, We have to be there on the southern border. We have to have men looking into those tunnels, making sure there are no new tunnels and these outside guarantees that Egypt and the U.S. are giving will build an underground barrier and this and that. He said, It's just not enough. We've got to stay there.
So that's a major disagreement in Israel. Of course, Hamas knew when it launched this attack, Rick, that there would be this internal division because what did they mainly attack? Left wing kibbutz settlements that were pro-peace activists that they knew hated Netanyahu anyway. And many of them have been the most vocal in demanding a release. And the truth is, Rick, the experts are saying it out loud now, probably only half of the hundred plus Hostages are still alive.
They don't believe that they're being deliberately killed anymore. And Israel is not conducting major bombing operations like it was. It's more controlled explosions of tunnels and that sort of thing. And obviously, they search each tunnel carefully, and that's where they found this. this Arab Israeli citizen on during the week.
And again, just a moment for rejoicing in the country, but deep political tensions. And yes, it does have the possibility of threatening the continued existence of the government.
Well, David will continue to monitor that situation. Certainly, legitimate concerns on both sides. You look at the concern for the hostages, but you also need to take into account Israel's long-term security needs.
Well, let's move on and let's talk about these Iranian proxies.
Now, we know currently in this political climate, Iran is very clear that they are going up against the Jewish nation of Israel. And of course, we know as students of Bible prophecy, that's something that is going to happen in the end times as well. But we look at the situation right now. The biggest threat has been either Hamas, which is mostly neutralized now, or Hezbollah, which this last week was blunted with the preemptive attack.
So we look at that situation. Even though we know that Iran is still a threat, for now, maybe Israel has restored deterrence. Maybe things are under control. Can you talk about that? Well, Rick, it looks like they've just changed the method of attack against Israel back to what it was in previous years, which is suicide attacks and terror attacks against Israelis.
And you know, that huge barrage. Uh, last Sunday morning, only killed one Israeli, and that was a sailor who was hit by shrapnel, probably from an interceptor rocket, not from an Iranian-produced rocket that Hezbollah fired.
So they're funneling weapons into the West Bank, the northern West Bank, Samaria, through Syria, through Lebanon, through Jordan. Especially through Jordan. And there's porous parts of the border there, and there's the Dead Sea that you can take a boat across, and they've intercepted that many times.
So it looks like Iran has just decided to step up its on-the-ground support for the Palestinians and to try to push. a full uprising upon Israel now.
Meanwhile, with Hezbollah continuing to strike from the north as long as Israel's in the Gaza Strip, which it looks like they're not going to leave anytime soon. And Rick, one last thought. It's ironic part of this deal, if it goes through, would be the release of hundreds of hardened terrorists from Israeli jails. The Hamas is giving lists of names of who they want released, meaning there would be more terrorism on the street, more men out there trained and ready to die for Allah and for Islam and all this sort of thing.
So it's really probably the prime minister is right. They just need to eliminate Hamas and they need to. Control the ins and outs of all of Gaza. There's just no other way because the holy war is going on, and they need to do preemptive stuff as they're doing now in Samaria and Judea because they can't allow a full suicide uprising to begin again. It's just the most horrific thing.
You were there for some of that, and I covered it for CBS both uprisings. And Hamas was the initiator of that in 1988.
So it all goes back to fundamentalism, and Iran is the king of that. And Iran's going to have to be dealt with at some point. Dave Dolan reporting for Prophecy Today Radio. Dave, as always, thank you for the update. We look forward to talking to you again soon.
You're welcome, McDowell Bless. We're going to take a break right now, but we will be back with more of Prophecy Today weekend. I'm Ruth Kramer with Mission Network News. Earlier this month, Myanmar's ruling military junta lost a key outpost to rebel forces, largely made up of ethnic and religious minorities. The junta has used brutal tactics on civilians since taking power in 2021.

Uh Um Welcome back to Prophecy Today. I'm Jimmy DeYoung Jr. Along with my brother Rick, we have been examining current events in the light of God's prophetic word. In the first part of the program so far, we are focusing on nations and events that pertain to prophetic events and nations in the future.
Now, of course, Rick and I both believe that the rapture is the next prophetic event to happen on God's calendar. That's the next event. We look forward to that every single moment of the day. It's an imminent event. That's why I say now is the day of salvation.
With everything that's happening, we see that the rapture of the church could happen at any moment. Like there's nothing left to be done. We're looking at events that are going to be fulfilled or leading up to events that will be fulfilled in the future.
So that's why we do what we do, and that's why we're focusing on these nations, Russia, the European Union, Iran, Israel, so many. Of the things, and when we get to Israel, we focus on the West Bank, we focus on Judea and Samaria, the Temple Mount, God's Holy Mountain in the city of Jerusalem, a future plan to build a temple in the city of Jerusalem. We're going to continue our conversation now with our good friend, former mayor of Shiloh, Israel Madad. Rick?
Well, that's right, Jimmy. I have Winky Madad with us. He's the former mayor of Shiloh. He lives in the area that we call Judea and Samaria because that's what the Bible calls it. The mainstream media, the world might call it the West Bank, but we call it Judea and Samaria.
Winky Madad, thank you for joining us today. Rick, thank you very much for having me on once again.
Well, Winkie, I wanted to have you on the program this week to talk about things that are currently taking place in the area called the West Bank. Many things in the news this week. But before I do that, I would love to just go back to the beginning. Let's get a little primer. Can you give us a history lesson on the area that is called the West Bank?
Okay. We have to remember that for centuries There was no real Border definition of something called Palestine. In fact, up until the very late uh eighteen hundreds. It was divided into three or four different districts. And most of the Arabs living here thought they were living in southern Syria.
And then Palestine was like, you know, a little region, like. The south United States, South Palestine, the south of Syria. But they had no identity in a national or what I call a geopolitical sense. And then World War I broke out. And I won't go into all the details, but the great powers, both as a result of the Balfour Declaration and the San Remo Conference in nineteen twenty, and finally the League of Nations in nineteen twenty two decided that Palestine.
without defining what it was. Would become the national homeland of the Jews. And then the British did one little thing. They said, wait a second. We we have this problem with these Arabs, and uh because uh the French took over Syria, and a lot of them thought they were gonna be under the rule of some king by the name of Faisal.
So we're gonna give Faisal's younger brother the territory of Transjordan. And if you look at Article 25 of the League of Nations decision, it says that from the Jordan River East. to a border to be fixed in the future. It was they even in twenty two they didn't know where Jordan was or where Palestine was. Yeah.
terms of the national Jewish home. Would not take effect.
So basically you're talking about All the territory west of the Jordan River to the Mediterranean Sea. Right? Became the Palestine mandate. We try to divide it several times during the mandate. And then in 1947, the United Nations says: listen, guys, this is your last chance.
You guys get Judea and talking to the Arabs. Judea and Samaria, a lot of the Negev, a little bit of Gaza, and some of the Galilee. And the Jews get the rest. Anybody who's seen that map and you can Google it. Would be astounded that they came out with a shape of that map.
It's ridiculous. The Rs refused. It was a war. And we had the state of Israel from 48 to sixty seven. Without Judea and Samaria.
And you're probably thinking to yourself, but Winky. What about the West Bank? Right? So Abdullah At that time, King of Jordan wanted more territory and in April 1950 The territory he occupied after the Forty Eighth War he annexed. and called it the West Bank Of Jordan?
And everything he had up until then was the east bank of the Jordan. It was illegal. It was an occupation. No one except Great Britain recognized it. But the name stuck because it sounds nice, the West Bank, the East Bank, all side of towns, stuff like that.
And that's how we ended up with the West Bank.
Well, Winkie, now that we have some perspective and we understand the history of that area, let's bring it up to modern times and we look at the operations taking place by the IDF in the area of Judea and Samaria. Can you walk us through why Israel feels they need to be there and they need to do what they're doing in that area right now?
Well, the urge, if I can say it that way, the desire. of the Fatach and Hamas. Both located in Judea and Samaria, particularly now In the northern Sumeria area around Jenin Tulkarim. and east of Nablus or Shrem, have grown bolder, We've had in the past three or four months incidents of shooting. not at the Jews who live in Judea and Samaria, but in the communities along the former Green Line inside what we call pre sixty seven Israel for a better name.
But Kefer and a few other communities like that, which of course has got every bit upset because they thought. Everything is okay with them, right? They're not in the quote-unquote West Bank, so what do they have to worry about? And it turns out that they do. The second problem is that despite great efforts, a lot of smuggling.
of guns Claymore mines or Claymore detonicians have been smuggled in from Jordan in the northern area. uh where it's close to Syria.
So uh the a threat has developed. And the army is going after them. The one thing working in our favor. is that as a result of the war in Gaza, The Army is more willing to use helicopters. Drones.
And massive amounts of soldiers rather than small raids that they used to do for the past few years. And they're really taking care of some of the terrorists.
Well, Winky, we appreciate the update on the situation there in Judea and Samaria. We will continue to follow that, but I'd like to get your thoughts on a few other situations. You keep us updated on what is taking place in Israel politically. And there's a story that came out this week. Former Prime Minister Lepid is now saying that current Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Knew about the October 7th attacks in advance and did nothing about it. Can you talk about this?
Well, first of all, uh if I can correct you and as far as I Listen to the clip. uh that he put up on on Twitter. Uh my Hebrew's pretty good as you know. He actually said that he was invited. About a week and a half to two weeks.
Before the war broke out, To a security briefing because he's the head of the opposition and is a custom here. In Israel, that once a month or so. The the leader of the opposition is briefed by the Prime Minister on security affairs. And he claimed at that time. Right?
The briefing included uh elements that were saying the the the situation is heating up Hamas is not deterred, etc. etc. I if my memory serves me correct from a couple of hours ago. That he did not say, Lepide, that Netanyahu was informed by the army that a war would break out. And that's why Netanyahu immediately responded, saying, The first time I heard about a war, Was 6:30 in the morning on October 7th.
I was not. Informed by the army that a war broke out or was intending to break out or could possibly break out. In the short time before the war broke out.
So, what we're talking about, of course. is whether or not the army was prepared. whether the intelligence branch of the army Was in the know because, as anybody listening to this program knows, the Prime Minister does not have independent intelligence. He depends on his army. He depends on the Mossad.
He depends on the GSS, the general security services. He gets reports maybe daily, maybe weekly. I think it works in the same United States. The president usually sits down. At least once a week with With someone from the Joint Chiefs of Staff and is or the National Intelligence Committee, and has said, you know, Russia has a few missiles, this and that, that, the situation is getting bad, it's getting worse, it's all like that.
Same thing here in Israel.
So I want to sort of put a damper on those who are dancing around perhaps and saying, yes, Netanyahu knew and completely ignored the warnings. He did not have any direct warnings. whether or not from the information that he got from the army He should have been more alert. That's a question for the history books.
Well, it certainly is winky, and it remains to be seen. We will find out how history will judge Benjamin Netanyahu for his leadership at this crucial time in history. Another thing that he's going to be judged on is his insistence on any ceasefire deal, any deal for the hostages, needs to have Israel still in charge of the Philadelphia corridor. This is controversial in Israel. Can you talk about this?
Let's define the Philadelphia Corridor. Anybody who looks at a map will see That in the area of Rafiach or Rafa, depending on. Use spelling. From the sea. Through Israel's border about I think it's 14 miles, if I'm not mistaken.
uh is the border between Gaza and Egypt. And as we found out. There are over 50 tunnels. that had been dug out. From Egypt.
to Gaza or Gaza to Egypt. And some of them were wide enough. for large vehicles to drive through. And so you can just imagine. This is where Hamas got its missiles.
It's it's explosives, it's dynamite, it's It's tools, its influence, its guns, whatever. And so Israel until some future date, hopefully earlier than later.
Some sort of Security apparatus is in place. Cannot leave Philadelphia corridor because if it does, we're going to have to fight this war all over again within a year.
So I know Egypt is very upset, claiming they knew nothing about this. But some of those tunnels were dug directly under guard towers on which. Egyptian soldiers would stand and look.
So either they slept very soundly and they didn't hear or feel anything under their feet. or we've got a major problem on the Egyptian border.
So that is basically an explanation of why Philadelphia Corridor. Is so important, and I just wanted one more point. It was the American Secretary of State, if I'm not mistaken, Condoleezza Rice. who convinced And when I say convinced, I mean pounding on the table and shouting at him. Ariel Shiron to yield on the corridor because he didn't want to at that time, way back in 2008.
Was it five or something like that when the disengagement took place?
So we've learned our lesson, and we're not going to let the nations of the world have us undo our lesson and fight our battles once again in the future.
Well, Winky, you've talked to us about the situation in Judea and Samaria. You've talked about Israeli politics and the controversy surrounding the Philadelphia corridor. One final question I have for you. In the news this week, Security Minister Ben Gavir talking about the status quo on the Temple Mount. This is a subject that we follow very closely on this program.
Could you explain what the controversy is right now with this status quo and what we should be looking forward to in the future here? There used to be, or there still is, actually. A status quo For the Christian churches in Jerusalem and Bethlehem. that started actually in seventeen fifty seven. And during the mandate period, that idea of a status quo.
was applied to the Western Wall. When riots broke out in nineteen twenty-nine. And that status quo said. That uh you cannot Have prayer partitions, tables, benches, chairs, or the blowing of the chofar. At the western wall.
All those seats and stuff like that had to be removed every night. Let's put it that way.
Okay, you couldn't keep things there overnight. And when Moshe Dayan sat down in the in the El Aqsa nineteenth June nineteen sixty seven after the war. He had that a little bit in mind and said, well, if they can do it with at that time, let's do it here. And he said, you know what, to the Wakf people, the the the Moslem Religious Trust, I'm going to open up the Temple Mount to visitors. Tourists.
We can't tell. Christians or Jews, especially, you can't come into the Temple Mount. But to avoid problems, We will prohibit them from praying. And that developed over the years into the status quo, the Temple Mount Status Quow. Which Netanyahu once told John Kerry, American Secretary of State.
Jews visit Muslims pray. Of course, that's a little bit discriminatory. I mean, you know, like the American South, you know, you can get on the bus, but if you're black, you have to sit in the back. That's the status quo. It doesn't work like that.
We have human rights nowadays. And you've been up there many times, and so you know there's a lot of room up there. Uh People can pray, sway a little bit, okay, no dancing, no singing perhaps, but uh in a uh d decorous manner. Uh you could be able to to pray and commune with God and read the Bible or the Psalter or whatever else. And so that's at the essence.
And it's been To be honest, it's been chipped away at a lot. We now can pray quietly. Uh on the eastern side And even prostrate ourselves. There's like a Uh uh um It's a little bit out of sight on the eastern wall. There's a walkway.
which is lower down. And it shouldn't. Harm the sensitivities of the Muslims. If people are thinking it may be a little bit I'm sorry to use this word. Weird.
Okay, let's not forget. that the Crimea War in eighteen fifty three broke out when the keys to the holy sepulchre went from one Christian sect to the other Christian sect. And that of course Winky is just a prime example of how the Temple Mount but also the city of Jerusalem have been the center of controversy in the past and will continue to be so in the future.
Well, we appreciate you taking your time today to be with us, Winky, sharing your insights and your thoughts on what's going on in Israel. We look forward to talking to you again soon. Thank you once again for having me on. Goodbye to you. And our listeners.
Great job, as always, Winky. Rick, let's keep this going. I want to talk to Rabbi Yehudaglik, who he's very excited about. Making people aware of what's taking place on the Temple Mount in the city of Jerusalem.
Well, that's right, Jimmy. I have Rabbi Yehuda Glick with us. He's been on the program before. Rabbi Glick is an American-born Israeli Orthodox rabbi. He's a politician.
He's a president of Shalom Jerusalem, which is a foundation that is looking to expand Jewish access to the Temple Mount. He's a former member of the Knesset from the Likud Party, and he actually survived an assassination attempt in 2014 by the Islamic Jihad movement. Rabbi Glick, thanks for joining us on the program today. Shalom, blessings from Jerusalem. To you.
and to all of our listeners around the world. Rabbi Glick, you've been on some of our DVDs as we talk about the preparations to rebuild the temple and what is taking place there.
So we've known you for many, many years. Appreciate you being on the program. Before I get started, I want to talk to you a little bit about some of the controversy recently on the Temple Mount, but a quick Google search of Yehuda Glick on Twitter. Twitter, it seems there are some people putting a picture of you with a couple of it looks like there's two female police officers and maybe two females with you. You're on the Temple Mount area there, and what they are saying is that you are leading a group of settlers in a raid on the Al Aqsa Mosque.
Could I get you to comment on that? I don't know Exactly what that picture is referring to, but I don't I don't actually I don't even have Twitter, so I don't know what's going on there, but I can say that this morning, I have the privilege of going on to the mountain as they do once a week. And praying this time, my prayer was concentrating on both on personal. my trip coming up to the United States in the near future. I wanted to pray that it will be a successful trip.
and we will be able to draw more partners to the sake of Jerusalem and to the sake of young widows and orphans. But also we would have prayer for For the uh hostages, for the uh state. Which is in a very complicated situation.
So the place to go to pour your heart. is uh the place that God chose to rest His divine presence. That is nothing more natural than that. And I don't know what that comment that they wrote was referring to, but there are many people who don't like the fact that this place is Open For all believers in God. There are those who believe that only they have a right to worship their God.
And everybody But they have an o they have a mission in the world to Make sure everybody in the world worships their God. But God, Hashem, God Almighty, the Creator of the world, The alternate the uh the uh etern eternal God. who uh wrote the Bible told us that he's a he is a King of all kings. And he's a god of all gods. And he wants all nations to pray I'm Zion.
It's Holy Mountain. And therefore, What I've been Devoting my life to and the left three or four decades is really getting more and more people Believers in God from around the world. to unite Around The concept of House of Prayer for All Nations. And where is that? That is Zion, his holy mountain.
the place that he chose for his throne. the place that he chose To rest his divine presence. And unfortunately, as I said, there are those who don't like that idea. Islamic revolutionaries that want to take over the world, they want everybody to become Islam. don't like the fact that we are continuing To promote our our mission in the world.
And that's what our Chalon Drufsum Foundation stands for. And that's what my concept of of doing is bringing Shalom to the world From the mountain of Hashem.
Well, before I let you go, I'm going to ask you how our listeners can connect with you a little bit and how they can find out more about your organization. But let me ask you a couple more questions. You talk about praying on the Temple Mountain. That's what you were doing there. You were not storming the Al-Aqsa Mosque.
You were praying on the Temple Mountain. Recently, this past week, Ben Geveer, the National Security Minister there in Israel, he has been very outspoken about the fact that he advocates for prayer on the Temple Mountain. And he says that is not changing the status quo. But there are others that say he is promoting war and he is promoting further conflict between the Muslim world. Can you talk a little bit about this?
Look, I don't know in what world is prayer A means That encourages it. instigation and insp and hate. And war. That doesn't world doesn't work in my world of terminology. There are those.
Who tried to tell us that, listen, the Muslim world, there's such nice people, but if they see a Jew praying, they have no choice, they have to kill him. I don't go for that. And uh we see We have a history and we have our uh experience to see that those who want to Kill us. Those who want don't want Israel to exist They don't need excuses. They w they wa they do use uh excuses to explain where it's not their fault, it's our fault.
Just like the rapists, it's that's not his fault, it's the w it's the woman's fault. The uh person who beats Somebody else, it's not not his fault, but the other guy's fault. I don't go for that. And I think that uh what I've been doing in Kellen Guildsland Foundation. It's talking about Jerusalem.
The city of Shalom. Talking about A god as the God of Shalom. And the only way We can Stretch out to the world. and call upon the world to unite around one God is if we understand that we have to respect each other. And we're all part of one puzzle.
And those who want to take apart the puzzle. Those who want to destroy are representing evil. And therefore They can try to assassinate They can they they they allow themselves To rape They allow themselves to do The most awful Cream. Things And the History of Mankind. And we have to stand Determined.
to be devoted to Ashem. And all those who want to join, that's exactly what we're still calling for. Coming to Shelandrson Foundation. Partner with us. Partner with that call.
To come Come to Israel, visit Israel, come to Jerusalem, visit Jerusalem, and go together with us. On the mount. And call upon your friends. Join in on what we're doing. Vegas met it.
You want to build a temple? Don't forget. the values. The widows and the orphans. Those who are Shem is the father of the widow of the orphan, and he's the Advocate of the widows.
Take care of them. And together, we will be able to to build Jerusalem. Jerusalem was called a widow in the book of Lamentations because all of her. Allies turned their back on her, betrayed her. And that is the concept.
We are called Come back. to come back to support Israel, to support Jerusalem. to turn to to fulfill, just like the Zionist movement. fulfilled the return of the Jewish people to Israel. By actually coming to Israel and building Israel and establishing a Jewish state here.
So do. We are the nations. Are expected to turn the Temple Mount into a house of prayer for all nations. That's our mission. And if you want to do it, join us.
Aruk Hashem, we've made the change. When I started at Vennig Demple Mound, Forty years ago, there were a hundred Jews who ascended annually. There were less than 100,000 Christian tourists who visited the Temple Mount annually. Today, we have close to a million tourists who visit annually and close to 50,000 Jews annually, and the numbers are going to grow. That's our mission.
We want to redeem this world. We have to return to Ashen. One more question before I let you go. I I saw another news article coming across. Ben Gavir again mentioning that he felt like it might be possible to build a synagogue there on the Temple Mount.
Any comment on that? People have spoken about that in the past. I can tell I personally am not crazy about that. I actually would like to build the temple on temple mounts. Not a synagogue.
And a temple is not. Just another house of prayer. A temple is a place that unites all humanity. That's what we should be building on the mountain. And I would not concentrate on building a ha a synagogue there, I would concentrate on building a temple there.
Shalomjerusalem.org. That's the place you can go. You want to find out more about his mission to rebuild the Temple, to expand the Jewish presence on the Temple Mount. Rabbi Yehuda Glick, we appreciate you taking the time to join us today. We look forward to talking to you again soon.
Thank you so much, and blessings from Jerusalem. One of my favorite memories with Rabbi Glick. I was in the old city, and we were right outside the Temple Institute, and he's there with all these young boys. We were working on the video, and I asked him to say something to these young men about building the temple. He said, Who's going to build the temple?
And they said, We will. And he's like, Who? We will. Yes, Rabbi Yuda Glick. Very excitable, young man.
Well, let's take a break when we come back to Legacy Series with Dr. Jimmy the Young, right here on Prophecy Today weekend. Welcome back to Prophecy Today. I'm Jimmy DeYoung Jr. Along with my brother Rick, we have been examining current events in the light of God's prophetic word.
Rick, great program so far, and I know it's only going to get better because we have the Legacy series and Dr. Andy Woods coming up at the end of the program. But one thing that I like about our website is we have a picture of Dad's Bible, Dr. Jimmy DeYoung, his Bible open to the book of Revelation.
Now, what's special about that, Rick, is that you could click on that Bible and get his devotions that he has put together about every prophecy in the Bible. That's right, Jimmy, from Genesis to Revelation. He goes through the whole Bible. There's over 500 posts, I believe, there, sharing his devotions as he looks at prophecy throughout the Bible, prophecy fulfilled, and prophecy yet to be fulfilled. You can do that by going to our website, prophecytoday.com.
Look for the picture of the Bible there, like you just said, Jimmy, or you could even sign up for it and we'll send it to you. In an email every day, prophecytoday.com. Thank you for your prayers. And if you think about us, maybe think about helping the ministry to continue. You know, today we continue with our legacy series, and we're continuing our study of Zachariah.
We're looking at Zachariah chapters 9, 10, and 11. This is the anointed king rejected. Zachariah does give us so much information on the first coming of Jesus Christ and the prophecies that Jesus fulfilled at that first coming. Only the prophecies of Isaiah have more scripture than the book of Zachariah on the Lord's first coming. Join us now in Zachariah chapter 11 and verse 1 as we continue our study of the anointed king rejected.
Dr. Jimmy D. Young and the legacy series. 420 years before it ever happens. You know what he's prophesying?
He's prophesying the movement of the Roman army coming out of Rome to capture the Holy Lands. And you know how they did it? They came out of Rome. They came across Turkey. They came in the same way.
Alexander the Great, the world's greatest military strategist, he must have known how to go. The Roman leaders. follow the same way and they come down through Lebanon. He said, open the door. and burn the cedars of Lebanon.
Now, look what he says. I'm going to show how they advance. Burn the cedars of Lebanon. Look at verse 2. Because the mighty are spoiled.
Hail, O ye oaks of Bashon. You know where Bashon is? Bashon is the golden heights. The word goland in the Bible is used four times. The word Bakshan, which is the same thing as synonym with goland, is used 53 times.
It has some very interesting prophetic significance, I don't have time to deal with in Jeremiah. He says, We're moving. We come through Lebanon.
Now we move into northern Israel, which is the Golan Heights, and we destroy the oaks in the Golan Heights. And it continues on, and he comes on down, and he says, Listen. Verse 3: There is a voice of the howling of the shepherds, the false shepherds. They're howling. Because the Romans are coming in and the Jewish...
False Prophets or shepherds were leading their people astray, and they let him come in, and he said, Get ready. I'm going to take them out of my hand. I'm going to deliver them. Look what it says in verse 6. Out of their hand, I will not deliver them.
Out of the Romans' hands, I'm not going to deliver the Jewish people. Look what it says in verse 7, and I will feed the flock of the slaughter. He's going to feed Israel, but they're going to be the ones that are going to be slaughtered. O poor of the flock, and I will look unto thee, and I will take two staves or two staffs. He is the shepherd.
He's going to take two staffs. One is called bands in the King James, and the other is called beauty. Beauty is representing. Grace or his favor. Bands is representing, could be translated union, or the relationship that God and Israel had.
And he says, I'm going to break that grace. Look down here in verse 10. And I took my staff, even beauty, and I cut it asunder. Look over here in verse 14. Then I cut asunder my other staff, even bands.
That grace that I had for you Jewish people, I'm going to break it. I'm going to release it. I'm going to let these Romans slaughter you. You know what happened? General Titus and the Roman army, 70 AD, stood on the Mount of Olives, had bivouacked there for three days.
General Titus finally gave the command. Let's go take him. The way they were going to take them is they're going to take out their religious sinner first. That was their policy. That was the Roman army's mode of operation.
They moved in. To take out, they came across the Kidron Valley, they came up onto the Temple Mount, and they took every stone off of every stone on the Temple. By the way, Jesus 40 years earlier had said that's what's going to happen. They took every stone down, every stone off of every stone. They came down and they destroyed the temple.
They devastated the city of Jerusalem. And then they killed every Jew that you could get their hands on. Thousands and thousands of Jews were killed, except for a few that escaped and went to the four corners of the earth. Because God Take his staff of bands, union, And released the relationship and his staff of beauty or grace, and he broke that staff. And he said, I is the chief shepherd.
Release my sheep. It was prophesied. 420 years before it ever happened, lays out the exact direction they would come. Look over here in verse 15. He now looks, that's the Roman Empire.
He looks to the revived Roman Empire. Look what he says in verse 15. And the Lord said unto me, Take unto thee the instruments of a foolish shepherd. This is talking about the Antichrist. Listen.
The Jew wouldn't accept the true Messiah, so they're going to accept a false Messiah. and twenty five hundred years before it ever happened, I can't look back on history to say it's been recorded exactly the right way, but I can look at events happening today and tell you that we are at the spot. I believe the appearance of Antichrist could be at any moment. I think he's alive and well on planet Earth. He's ready to appear.
I don't have time to develop it. Let me just tell you one thing. The book of Matthew chapter 24, the book of 2 Thessalonians chapter 2, the book of Revelation chapter 13 and 16 says the greatest sign for the Antichrist is signs, wonders, and miracles. Honey, turn on your Christian television. And you will see a proliferation of signs, wonders, and miracles.
Jimmy, don't you believe God can perform a miracle? I do absolutely believe it. I know he can. I'm standing as a miracle. I know it.
As 11 years of age, I was a sinner on my way to hell. He saved me. Several years ago, 1981, I was diagnosed with sarcoidosis. You know what sarcoidosis is? Your lymph nodes expand till your lungs and your heart are burst.
And not long ago I took a chest x-ray and it's not there. I'm a smiracle. God does perform, but I know Satan. Performs miracles at will. And the proliferation of miracles.
greatest indicator of the soon coming of Antichrist. 2,500 years ago. Zachariah wrote it down. By the way, Look here in verse 12 and 13, another little phrase we'll come back to. And I said unto them, If ye think good, give me my price.
And if not, forbear.
So they waived for my price thirty. Look at this. Thirty pieces of silver. Verse 13, and the LORD said unto me, Cast it unto the potter. A goodly price that I was Prized or valued out of them.
And I took the thirty pieces of silver and I cast them to the potter in the house of the Lord. We'll come back to that in just a moment. Chapter 10. We looked at chapter 9. We looked at chapter 11.
We see the prophecies fulfilled 150 years before. Alexander the Great comes into the Holy Land. 320 years before Antiochus Epiphanes comes and is defeated. 420 years before the Roman army comes down out of Rome into Israel, through Lebanon, through the Golden Heights, destroys the. Jewish people?
Antichrist is prophesied to come, and the preparations for him are all set in place right now. Chapter 10. You see, chapter 9 is the anointed. Chapter 11 is the rejected. The anointed, rejected what?
King. The anointed king rejected chapter 10. Look what it says. He starts in chapter 10. And he develops in chapter 10 what it's been like.
He said, You, in verse 2, for the idols have spoken vanity. You Jews who are supposed to worship the Almighty God, you follow the idols. Why did you foddle idols?
Well, the diviners came in. Fortune tellers, diviners, those that divine for water. You listen to those false prophets. Look at his.
Some of you had false dreams. Look at verse 2. And have told false dreams. And you listen to those false prophets, Israel. He said, I'm going to punish the goat.
Look at verse 3. I love the way he talked. You know, you talk about, oh, you old goat. You know where you got that? Zachariah said it first.
He said right here in verse 3. My anger was kindled against the shepherd, and I punished the goats. I love it. For the Lord of hosts hath visited his flock, the house of Judah. And he brought punishment upon them.
But look what he does in verse 4. But out of the house of Judah, as prophesied, out of the house of Judah came forth, look at here, the corner of him, the nail of him, the battlebow out of him, every oppressor. Together. He gives a prophecy here of four attributes of Messiah Jesus Christ. the cornerstone.
Let me just give you the verses. We don't have time to look them up, but the cornerstone, look up Isaiah sometime 28, 16. It says, I am going to make him the stone, the cornerstone. of the building. Go to 1 Peter 2, verse 6 sometimes, he says, and he, Jesus, is the chief corner.
I'm going to raise up the chief cornerstone in Jerusalem. And here Zachariah the prophet says, the cornerstone. Is going to be raised up. Look what it says. Not only the corner, but out of him the nail.
Look up sometime in Isaiah 22, verses 22 and 23. He says, I'm going to make him a nail. You know what a nail is? A nail was a very important implement as far as the Israelites were concerned, especially when they had the tabernacle up. Because when they would move around through the desert through that 40 years, they had to have a nail to hold up that tent.
You see, the tent would sit there like a tent peg, and they would stretch out those ropes from that tabernacle tent, it was a tent of worship, and they would just then take a long nail and drive that nail into the desert sands to hold up that tabernacle. It's the only way it would stand up. He's gonna be a nail. A nail A nail that made secure That tip in the wilderness. A nail that gives us security.
Then he says, He's going to be the battle bowl. What's the battle bowl? Revelation chapter 19, verse 11.
Sometime read it. And I looked up, John says, the prophet John. I looked up, and heaven opened up, and out of the heavens comes on a white horse. He that is called faithful and true. and in righteousness.
He doth judge and make war. He came as the Lamb unto the slaughter.
Next time he comes as the lion of Judah. the judge to make war, the battle bow, That final war, as Saddam Hussein said, the mother of all battles. The Battle of Armageddon. Then it says And all the oppressors put together, all the rulers. You got your finger here in Zachariah.
Look back a couple of books to Micah. Micah is just back over there a couple of books. Go to Torch Psalms. Look at Micah 5:2. This is an appropriate verse right now.
Micah 5:2. Look what it says in Micah 5:2. In a very important verse, especially the time of the year we are. It says he's going to be the ruler. Zachariah in chapter 10, verse in chapter 10 over here, verse 14, he's going to be the ruler.
Look at chapter 5 of Micah, verse 2. But thou, Bethlehem Euphrata, Though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, Yet out of thee Shall he come forth unto me, that is to be look at here. The ruler. of Israel. whose goings forth have been from O from everlasting.
Jesus Christ is coming. The Messiah is coming out of Bethlehem. And he comes from eternity past. He didn't have a beginning. He doesn't have an ending.
He is from eternity past. He goes through eternity future. And he had to be born not in New York City, not in Paris, France, not in London, England, not even in Jerusalem. If he wasn't born in Bethlehem of Euphrates, He wasn't the Messiah. You know, the birthplace of Jesus Christ is key.
According to Micah. It had to be in Bethlehem Euphrate. In fact, all of Zachariah's prophecies for the anointed king to be rejected had to be fulfilled. which in fact they were. These are blessed truths from the Word of God.
In the next couple of weeks our study in Zachariah will bring us to the rejected king that will be anointed. Please join us next week. As we continue our study of this very important prophetic book, Dr. Jimmy D. Young and the Legacy Series.
We've got to take a break, and when we come back, Rick and I will take a look at the book right here on Prophecy Today Weekend. I'm Muth Kramer with Mission Network News. Earlier this month, Myanmar's ruling military junta lost a key outpost in the city of Lashu to rebel forces. The junta has used brutal tactics against citizens since seizing power in 2021. Rebel forces behind this recent loss are largely made up of ethnic and religious minorities.
A man will call Peter with A3 says: Churches in the war zones are getting hit hard, yet non-believers are seeing Christ-love in action as Christians provide shelter and medical care. And they need your prayer. We really want to end this war fast, like really fast. We need support internationally. We need support for ammunitions.
We didn't ask for this war. The junta brought this war to us. Pray for strong faith among Christians who are fighting in the rebel forces. I have friends who lost their faith because, you know, dealing with this war, things that we've seen, it's just ugly. And hope is hard to find on the reservation.
Bleeding cuts and old scars show the anguish that's too big to hold inside. Hudgecraft Ministry's On-Eagles Wings team offers the life-changing hope of Jesus Christ. Every summer, Native American believers visit reservations with On-Eagles Wings to tell their peers about a Savior who knows their pain. It was wonderful to see the graduates of our leadership center who now have given us new strength on the team. They were big brothers and big sisters to younger team members.
This year, the Lord moved powerfully through the largest summer of Hope Team to date. We are now seeing the full circle of the On Eagles Wings Ministry that come to Christ at our national conference. They go on the team and feel a call to make a difference with the rest of their life. And they come to the leadership center. Pray for continued momentum.
Thanks for listening to Mission Network News, a service of one-way ministries. We're listeners supported by people just like you.
So, by giving to Mission Network News, you enable us to keep the stories of God's kingdom coming. And together, the Great Commission happens. Look for links at missionnews.org. That's missionnews.org. I'm Ruth Kramer.
Welcome back to Prophecy Today. I'm Jimmy the Young Jr. Along with Rick, we've been examining current events in the light of God's prophetic word. Rick, I think it's appropriate that we finish up the program today with our good friend, Dr. Andy Woods.
Well, that's right, Jimmy. I've got Dr. Andy Woods with us. He is formerly a professor of Bible and theology at the College of Biblical Studies in Houston, and he now serves as the president of Schaeffert Theological Seminary and senior pastor of Sugarland Bible Church. Dr.
Woods, thank you for being with us today. Hey, great to be here. Thanks for having me. We don't necessarily advocate a newspaper reading of Bible prophecy, but God's word has given us the gift of Bible prophecy, and one-third or 25% to one-third of the Bible is prophetic in nature.
So God has given us this information. He's given it to us for a reason.
So we are not necessarily sensationalizing things, but Dr. Woods, we are looking at these. God has given us these signs to let us know where we are in history, right? Right. I mean, we don't really approach prophecy from the standpoint of You know, the prophecies in the book of Revelation are happening, you know, right now.
This, you know, the sea isn't being turned to bloodbread and that kind of thing. But I Um we don't think prophecy can be fulfilled in a vacuum. You know, the stage has to be set. And that becomes obvious when you look at the first coming. You know, the stage was set properly for the first coming of Christ.
Israel was in her land again. They were yearning for a Messiah of some kind. Um the Romans had come to power and Popularized the instrument of death called crucifixion.
So the right. Uh You know, the instrument was in place for the Messiah to be pierced. The Greek language, about three centuries earlier, had come on the scene and So, the right language, a very deep language, was in place to record the New Testament once Jesus showed up. You know, you have Roman power over Israel, so you had universal Roman roads and Roman peace.
So the gospel could be spread once Jesus, you know, had died on the cross and risen from the dead and ascended. Back to the Father's right hand.
So, you know, as you look at that time period, clearly the stage is being set. And our point is: if the stage can be set for the first coming of Christ, why can't it be set for the second coming of Christ? And as you look at our world today, very clearly, the stage is being set exactly for the scenario God says will come to pass in the last days.
So the angle of stage setting is really the vantage point that we come from. Of course, as many people who listen to this program, they know that's where we come from as well.
Well, let's talk about a few things that I have heard you speaking about in your updates that you have put online. One of them, we focus on the temple.
Now, we focus on the temple because there will be a temple standing there during the tribulation, which is after the rapture of the church. And this is one of the things where it helps us to pinpoint where we are in history. But if we look at this, you talked about an Israeli minister proposing dividing the Temple Mount between Jews and Muslims. Can you tell us about that story just a little bit? It's kind of interesting.
Almost every time you look at the headlines today, there's something about the temple. And as as some have articulated it, when the discussion of the world moves to Israel, you know, God's hand. in terms of his stopwatch is on the hour hand. And then, when it leaves Israel and gets more specific into Jerusalem, now you're dealing with the minute hand. And then, when the discussion of the world moves to the Temple Mount, now we're dealing with the second hand.
So, that's why I find any story about the Temple of interest. And this one is very interesting because it deals with a Knesset. Member. And keep in mind, this is not yet a law, but my point is, it's in the discussion. I mean, people are thinking about this.
And as you well know. The Jews, of course, after the nineteen sixty seven war, the Six Day War, gave control of that area back to the Muslims under Member Moshe Dayan did that. And this particular Knesset member is basically saying, yeah, it's time to take that area back. It belongs to the Jews. Let's remove Jordanian control over the Temple Mount.
And area, which will give the Jews unlimited access to go up there for religious purposes. Right now, they're only allowed up there. Uh on a very limited basis. And it basically says the Muslims can have the Al-Aqsa. Area and the Jews will take control of the Dome of the Rock, which, according to basic tradition and history, I know there's some debate on it, but that's where the Temple, Solomonic Temple, once stood.
And so it's just fascinating that you read this kind of public proposal, not by a crazy person, but by an actual Knesset member. And it's paving the way, I believe, for ultimately Israel to rebuild Temple Number Three, which, as you said before, Has to be standing midway through the tribulation period.
So the fact that this is even being publicly proposed and discussed shows us that the stage is being set for the seven-year tribulation period. And it's just another sign that we can look at to see where we are on God's prophetic calendar and stopwatch. That's the way to understand all of these signs. It shows us that the rapture of the church. Is even more imminent if the signs of the tribulation period are approaching.
Because, as you rightly pointed out, the rapture of the church precedes the seven-year tribulation period. And once you start to understand that, you start to understand the urgency of the hour. You know, we need to get the gospel out to as many people as possible, or they're going to be left behind. And face these horrors of the seven year tribulation period. And it also helps us prioritize our lives as Christians because we don't want to spend our waning hours on the earth involved in trivial pursuit.
You know, we want to have our lives focused in the things that are going to matter For eternity, and are going to stand the test of time. Things related to the Bible, the church, scripture, evangelism. Spiritual disciplines, our prayer life, our times of scriptural meditation, supporting the work of our local churches, using our spiritual gifts. I mean, we start to use those things and do those things more when we understand the urgency of the hour. And yet, you really can't understand the urgency of the hour unless you see these signs that we've been speaking of.

Great privilege to be here. Thanks for having me. Dr. Andy Woods.
Well, I hope now that you understand why I started out the program today, saying. Today is the day of salvation. We need to be busy doing what God wants us to do. With everything that's happening that we have reported on today, the rapture of the church can't be far away. Let's keep looking up until.
