We can talk. We can blab. We have two open lines. We can also, if you are interested, send me an email. And that email would be.
I directed to info at carm.org info at CARM.org. And put a subject line, read of comment. Yep. Radio question, excuse me, got a couple of hiccups right there. And that shouldn't be too difficult.
All right, all right.
So Let's just jump on The radio here. Let's get to Ken from Kentucky. Ken, welcome. You're on the air. Hey, Matt, I got a question about Two very common uh phrases that Jesus is called.
in scripture and what's the meaning of those phrases? Uh One is the Son of God and the other one is the Son of Man. Ah. Yeah, Son of God deals with the nature of being divine. And so, if you go to, for example, John 5:18, he was calling God his own father, making himself equal to God.
The phrase Son of God is used in the Old Testament in reference to angels and other people, different contexts. But in the relationship of Christ, when he says that he calls him father, And he says, The glorify me with the glory I had with you before the foundation of the world, John 17:5. And he said, The Son of God. Then, what we're talking about here theologically is the eternal sonship of Christ as he relates to the Father who does the begetting and ascending.
Son of Man deals with the issue of him just being human.
son of man uh and that an exalted title of humanity and and stuff.
So when I talk to the cults, a lot of times they'll say uh Jesus is not God and I say, Why do you say that? They say this term son of God means he's not God and I said, Okay.
So if the term son of God means he's not God, what does the term son of man mean then? And then they they they accused me of s a verbal sleight of hand. But the point is that that's what the term means. That's what's going on in the context of Christ. You can reference it with John 5:18.
Okay.
So Well, um, doesn't Son of Man Um That doesn't mean that that Jesus is Adam. Because I'll give you my understanding and critique it. Um Son of Man in the Hebrew is Ben Adam.
So uh yeah, it does. say that he's not at him. That's what Son of Man means. He's not a he's not the first man. He's the son of The first man.
So I don't know why they couldn't answer you. I'm trying to understand what you're saying here. You're saying the term son of man means he's not Adam? Yeah, because man is Son of man. is Ben Adam.
It's referring to the first man, Adam.
So son of man refers to a the human lineage from Adam. Right. I don't know why. What church do you go to? I'm just curious.
What church do you go to? I was raised Baptist and Methodist.
Okay, good. What church do you go to? Hmm. Uh Baptist.
Okay.
But anyway, back to back to scripture. I it's The Hebrew is Benadam.
So I don't know why those other people, you called them cultists, couldn't respond to you because the response is. Yes, it does mean that he's not at a home. He's not the first man. Of course Jesus is not Adam. That's obvious.
Well, hold on, hold on. You're ready to get into the mic. But see, he's not Adam. We know that.
So. Everybody would know that. That's not an issue. You're breathing into the microphone. Um So I'm concerned.
Uh do you believe Jesus is God in flesh? Yeah, I was taught that all my life.
Okay, but you believe it, right? Yeah.
Okay.
All right. Why would why wouldn't I? I'm just curious because the things you're saying are are generating some concerns when that you take the term son of man and you interpret it in a way I've never even heard of before, which is it means he's not Adam.
Well what what is your understanding of Ben Adam? Benadam is the Old Testament phrase. You said in reference to Christ, that would be New Testament.
Okay, so the Greek needs the same. Thing, doesn't it? Words knew what they needed. Is there a difference in the New Testament Greek?
Okay, hold on, hold on. Hebrew? Killed on. Words mean what they mean in context. In the context of Jesus in the New Testament, the term Son of Man occurs 77 times.
All right. And I list Yeah, I've written an article on this.
So it occurs 195 times in the NESB, 170 in the Old Testament. The first reference of the phrase in the Old Testament is Numbers 23:19. God is not a man that he should lie, nor a son of man that he should repent. He's just saying that he's just like a regular person. It's it's not saying that he's not Adam there.
Okay.
Yeah, it is. And that verse. Hold on a sec. Hold on a sec. Hold on a sec.
Hold on a sec. Numbers 23, 19. Hold on a sec. Hold on. Look, I just showed you from Number 2319, it doesn't say He is not Adam.
It doesn't say that. It doesn't reference Okay, can you let me finish my statements? How about that? Is that okay?
So the reason I I got rid of them because I asked a question. You let me finish my statements, he wouldn't answer the question.
So, this tells me that apparently he's not that interested in having a discussion, he's only interested in teaching a position which I wanted to cross-reference and which I thought was problematic. And so, since I, when people do this with me, I have to ask them at this point. That's what I always do. Can I finish my statement?
So we can have a discussion on it. And I just ask them, and then they say, Yeah, okay, because I want them to understand they're not discussing, they're interrupting and trying to control the conversation. It's my radio show, not theirs. And so if you're not going to Um Just be polite enough to let me finish my own sentences on my own radio show when I specifically ask you. You don't even ask the question, you avoid it.
Then we're done talking, okay? That's just how it works. All right, now let's get to Jermaine from California. Jermaine, welcome. You're on the air.
Hey, Matt, happy Friday to you. Hey, thanks. See, it's starting off with quite a bang already. Yeah, I have this thing about people just constantly interrupting me, constantly. I mean, a little bit, I get it.
But when they won't even answer the simple questions and then ignore things when I ask them, let me finish. I get tired of that. I just don't play that game. Anyway.
So, yeah.
Okay, well, my question today is: so I just came from my friend's funeral, longtime pastor and apologist out here. And There was a woman that, oh, you know what? I'm sorry, sir. That's the wrong question. That's the question for next week.
I'm reading off my list here. But what I wanted to ask you about is the restored gospel.
Okay.
And I I see a lot of um The Mormons, they are when they and I understand when they use the term preaching the gospel is completely different from what we are talking about. But they keep going back to the restored gospel, as if something needed to be restored. Can you elaborate a little more on why they believed there was a need for a restored gospel? The reason they believe that is because it's a non-Christian cult. That has been started by Joseph Smith, who was known to be a con man.
and he never encountered God the Father and he was just a false teacher. And so generally what happens across different cults is the true gospel was either lost or clouded Yeah. And or it needs to be restored through a new prophet or a new revelator or someone who really understands what the Bible really teaches. And then they gather people to themselves. In LDS theology, the restored gospel is the idea that uh Christianity faced a total apostasy.
And that it was necessary to restore their priesthood, the true priesthood. The true authority, and the doctrines that lead to eternal progression, the issue of becoming gods. And so they say that the true gospel was lost because the Bible really teaches those things. And it doesn't. It doesn't teach those things.
And so the eighth article of the LDS Church says that the Bible is corrected so far as it's correctly translated.
So, what they do is they cast doubt on the Word of God to begin with so that they can justify these new doctrines, which they then declare are restored doctrines. Why? Because Joseph Smith restored them, even though we can prove that he lied, and it's provable. And so the true gospel was never lost.
Now, sometimes the cults will come to 2 Thessalonians 2, which says there must be an apostasy that comes. And I say that's true, but the apostasy is concomitant with the arrival of the Antichrist. Because when it says in verse 2 Thessalonians 2:3, let no one in any way deceive you, it, the return of Christ, will not come unless the apostasy comes first and the man of lawlessness revealed the son of destruction.
Now, Hypostasy is joined by Paul in the issue of the arrival of the Antichrist, the man of lawlessness. This. As we're aware, as much as we're aware of, has not yet occurred.
So the apostasy must be in place in order for Satan's minions to work. And so that would be a a falling away of the truth.
So I would say, I know I'm giving a lot of a long answer to this. I would say the LDS Church is an example of the apostasy. because it teaches you can become gods and it has an impossible a problem, an impossible problem to solve. In the nature and description of God, because in DNC 130 and 132, it discusses the issue of God. There's an eternal God with a body, eternal God without a body, and you can become gods.
So the definition of what God means becomes a Uh Impossible to define across three contradictory categories. And so I I'd go on and on, but this kind of thing I'll just say a little bit, irks me slightly. I've had so many cults over forty six years tell me that their church is the restored church, their church is the true church, their prophet, their apostle, their whoever, they're whatever, restored to truth. And uh it's just uh it's a common fare across the cults.
So I gave you a lot of stuff there, okay? No, and I'm glad you did go on a little long, and I've seen some of your debates. against a couple of these people and I'll be having a couple myself just with people I know and people close to me.
So it's good to know. And I'll have to pick back up with it sometime next week. What led me there is actually the debate you had with Sam Shimoon, I think it was. There was a a young man named Kwaku, I believe, who's a Kwaku. Yeah, I've I've encountered him, yeah.
Uh-huh. Yeah, and he he has some techniques he uses to kind of control debate by hiding under the guise of being polite, but Yes, that the restored gospel kept coming up.
So Yeah, Kwaku is a Mormon, and I've had encounters with him, and he's good in rhetoric, he's not good in substance.
So he's good at delivery, but not good in thinking and critical thinking. I would debate him formally. Let's do it, let's have a formal debate. Uh but You know, or I'll debate any Mormon formally. You know, let's have a real debate on, you know, what is the truth, etc.
But hold on a sec because I want to get back to the issue of how the LDS would know what the gospel is in the first place.
Okay.
So hold on. I'll be right back, folks, after these messages. Please stay tuned. It's Matt Slick Live, taking your call at 877-207-2276. Here's Matt Slick.
Hello everybody, welcome back to the show. Let's get back on with Jermaine. Jermaine, I'm working on something during the break, polysyllogism about this.
So if you don't mind, I'm gonna share it with you, okay? Yes, please do.
So, ladies and gentlemen, a syllogism and a polysyllogism, a syllogism is something like this. A syllogism says premise one: all men are mortal. Premise two.
Socrates was a man. Conclusion, therefore, Socrates was mortal. This is called a syllogism. Two premises. and a necessary true conclusion.
A polysyllogism, poly meaning many, you can have several statements that follow one after the other after the other, and you can exceed two premises. You can go three, four, five, six, seven, eight.
So If the LDS, as I was I was trying to bring it down, if the LDS used 2 Thessalonians 2 to demonstrate the apostasy occurred, then the LDS are treating the Bible as a reliable source of truth.
So if they treat the Bible as a resible Yeah. to prove the apostasy by going to 2 Thessalonians 2, then it's also reliable enough to contain the the gospel.
Now they say the gospel was lost.
Well, how would they know? See, if the Bible contains a true gospel, because they're appealing to the Bible. to show there's an apostasy. and yet they reject the Bible what it says about the gospel. then they're being inconsistent.
The Bible contains a true gospel because they're asserting that the Bible's correct.
Now in the eighth article of the Mormon Church it says the Bible is correct insofar as it is c correctly translated, not interpreted, translate. To translate means from one language to another language.
So yu tengo hambre in Spanish is I have hunger or I'm hungry. That's a translation. The translation of the Old and New Testaments into the English is reliable and accurate. That's not a problem, that's well established.
so the eighth article does not help the LDS at all.
So, if they're going to say that the Bible is reliable enough to use to show the apostasy, then they need to be able to be consistent and show that the Bible has a true gospel in it. But if it has a true gospel in it, then the LDS Church is not necessary because it does need to be restored. But if they say it is necessary because the true gospel is lost, then how come that they then say there was an apostasy from the same Bible which they say they can't trust?
So either way they shoot themselves in the foot. are inconsistent.
Okay.
Yeah, I don't know if you read that off the right golden tablet, so they may not accept what you said, but Yeah, 100%. I 100% understand what you're saying, AD. fallacy in how they argue To use material that you say is not the gospel, but you have to continually consult it.
So. Right. Yeah, I'll bring this up on another show. I don't want to take up too much. of your uh time today but it's It's just sad to me how the Mormon church uses that young man and other minorities.
and they completely ignore their own history. of racism and just things that they've done. Against people of God. You know, I um and I really appreciate and how I got to This, by the way, the the man I went to the funeral of today He actually was a a uh Student of Walter Martin, which led me into Apologetics, which led me into finding you years ago.
Okay, good. Well good.
So yeah, yeah, I'd love to pick you back up next week. Yes, I think we are off on Monday, by the way, because it's Labor Day.
So, no show on Monday, just to let people know. But, okay, brother, God bless, man. All right. God bless you, man. Have a good weekend.
Okay.
Now, I just want to follow through a little bit with this issue of the LDS problem of apostasy, because what they're going to do, and I know that LDS who are listening down in Utah, are going to be saying, but we have a testimony.
Well, this is the problem again, because if you have a testimony, it's derived from what you would interpret the Bible to be, because James 1:5 says, If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God.
Well, they use that typically to say, Pray about the Book of Mormon, which they then say, James is now reliable.
So then they pick and choose about what's reliable, what's not reliable in the Bible. This is the same thing the Muslims do. Whenever the Bible agrees with their theology, then it's true. Whenever the Bible disagrees with their theology, then it can't be trusted. The criteria is not the word of God.
The criteria is what they believe in their subjective experience and/or what their so-called prophet. Cold them is the truth. But the question is, how do you verify that their prophet is true? If they use the scriptures to verify the prophet is true, that the scriptures aren't true. They have a self-refuting problem.
If they say that the prophet has authority independent from the scriptures, Then it has to be derived directly from God, straight. And that's what the LDS will say: that it was straight from God. But then we have the problem of the first vision contradicting itself in many forms because there's many that were given in the first few years and they were contradictory.
So Adam LDS don't know that.
so it was only after a while that a polished final version was kind of accepted. And so this is a a serious problem. And the other thing is, if you're going to say then that the LDS Church is true, or Joseph Smith actually saw God the Father in the first vision, then it directly contradicts 1 Timothy 6:16, which says, God the Father dwells an unapproachable life who no man has seen or can see. When I bring this up to Mormons, then they do what I call Bible hopscotch. They go to different verses to try and set scripture against each other, or they just say, Well, they just mean to have a special this, a special need, and then they just reinterpret the scriptures the way they make it fit so that their prophet is true.
But Joseph Smith said that he translated the book of Abraham the same way he did the Book of Mormon. And if you go and do your research, you will find out very quickly. That the Book of Abraham papyri, which he had, and which the exact same Book of Abraham papyri, Egyptian papyri, are possessed by the LDS Church, the exact same one, there's no doubt, even the LDS Church, that's the same one. because it has Joseph Smith's handwriting on it. He said that he translated the Book of Mormon by the same power and method he did the Book of Abraham.
And he said the Book of Abraham, the Egyptian papyri, were the Book of Abraham. And it turns out it had absolutely nothing to do. With what Joseph Smith said it said.
So, what does the LDS Church say?
Well, we know it's not a literal translation. It just was used for inspiring him. In other words, it doesn't matter what the facts are. You always must do one thing. Always affirm your relativistic feelings about what truth is.
Don't trust God's word. Trust your own heart, your own ideas, your own feelings, your own testimony. This is exactly what Satan wants. Because if you don't trust God's word, then by definition, you have to trust something else. And since it's a spiritual issue and you're trusting something else other than God's word, you're now automatically open to.
demonic deception. Let's get to Steve from Utah. Steve. Welcome around the air. Hello, Matt.
How are you today? Doing all right, just hanging in there. Yeah.
So I have a question that might be a little morbid, but Um If If somebody was to come to me And say You deny Christ, or you're going to be tortured like Christ and nailed to a cross. I like to think that I would do that. Do what? Deny him? Uh not deny him.
Okay.
Uh so I like to think that I would do that.
Sometimes you would not do that. Would not deny Christ. Yeah, okay. I would not deny Christ. All right.
However I've never been confronted with that situation.
So I hold on, brother, we got a break. Hold on, okay. We got a break.
So, folks, we write back out for these messages. Just want to let you know that we stand here by your support. Ladies and gentlemen, we definitely do need it. I've been letting you guys know, and it's a real need. Please consider supporting us.
Go to carm.org forward slash donate, or just go to carm.org, c-ar-r-m.or-rg, top of the page. You'll see that we're donate. We really need that help. Be right back. Yeah.
It's Matt Slick Live, taking your calls at 877-207-2276. Here's Matt Slick. Okay, everybody, welcome back to the show. Bottom of the hour, let's get back on with Steve from Utah. Steve, welcome, brother.
You're back on.
So, yeah, I like it. I like to think I would do that, but However, we're not ever confronted with that situation. And Nobody does anybody really know they would do that? Mm. Let me just tell you something.
Back in college, I went to a Lutheran college, and. Dr. Rod Rosenblatt, he was a great professor, and someone asked him in the class one day. What would you do if someone put a gun to your head and said deny Jesus? and the room went quiet.
And he thought about it, and after, I dunno, half a minute or so, he said, Well, If I deny Jesus, it's because of my sin if I don't deny Him, it's because of His grace. I can only hope that the grace of God would carry me through it.
Okay.
And that's That's what I can hold. I got a second part to that question that would be a whole heck of a lot tougher deal to deal with. If someone was to take one of my daughters and say, you're going to be tortured by Christ, and. And uh They would be tortured like Christ in myself. I denied.
You you still can't do it. You still cannot do it.
So in the book of That works. And I had to walk. Yeah, this actually happened in the book, Fox's Book of Martyrs. There was a story, and I'll say this very carefully because there might be young ones listening. The Catholic Church was persecuting Protestants.
They took a family. Uh, parents, and if anybody, I'm going to say this as carefully as I can, but you might want to let the kids not hear this for. um you know a minute And so I'm going to be very generic. And so they tied up the whole family and threatened the father to do what you said. generically to the little ones.
If he did not a come back to the true Catholic Church. And so he would not do that. And one by one, the Catholics Executed. Let's just say, I can't describe how it was done because it was horrible. The little ones, and the father, and what they did to the wife was, oh my goodness, but.
He said, the father said, Each child you'd you Yeah. you deliver into the hands of my Saviour. And so yeah, I never forgot that.
Okay.
One other quick question. Has there Were women ever crucified?
Well, that's a good question. I've never been asked that before. Uh I assume so. But I don't know. That's a good question.
Yeah, I don't recall ever Hearing or seeing or reading anything about any woman being crucified. I know they were. burned at the stake and stuff like that, but As far as crucifixion goes, I don't recall anything. And I didn't know if there was anything in the Bible that said anything like that.
So. Well, um I'm assuming because I did a little bit of research here. Uh Historical sources confirm women were crucified in the ancient world because it was reserved for slaves, rebels, and pirates.
So yeah, I guess there are some anecdotes about that occurring. Wow, okay. Oh, okay. Yeah, I I didn't know if that was even answerable.
So Um Anyway, those are Kind of morbid, but just you know it would be a rough situation to ever Mind yourself and and you know, it it'd be difficult for every one of us, I'm sure. Absolutely. Yeah.
one of the things I I say is God has has not let me encounter some of those situations because maybe He knows what I'm really made of and hasn't let me get into that situation. Yeah, and that, yeah, it's a tough situation. But anyway. Yeah, just uh mostly just curious. Things on your thoughts.
everything else.
So There you go.
Okay, buddy, well. I appreciate all your help.
Alright.
Sounds good. Great. God bless you. Have a nice long weekend. Thank you.
Appreciate it. Um so, uh just a couple of things. Uh I think as Charlie probably put it in there. Fox's Book of Martyrs was formerly titled A History of the Lives, Sufferings, and Triumphant Deaths of Many of the Primitive as Well as Protestant Martyrs. I really suggest you read it.
Fox's Book of Martyrs, F-O-X-E. Apostrophe X. It's I think it's one of the most sold read books in all of history. Fox's Book of Martyrs is up there, Pilgrim's Progress. Of course, the Bible.
It's one of those top five, or something like that. Uh Books. In fact, I'm going to ask, I'm going to get to another point here. Uh is let's see is this book one of the most red. And uh I think it is.
It's four editions. Oh, look at more information. He's given four editions were released during Fox's lifetime as the author continued to research, respond to critics, and incorporate new material. Yeah, I I can't even describe, uh, over the radio, uh what some of the things happened. There's some things I can, like...
They record, for example, I think during the Roman times they there was lakes that we frozen over during the winter, and they would take Christians and strip them. and then force him to walk out on the the frozen lake. And in the wind and the winter, and say, if you denounce. Christ and bow to Caesar. then we'll let you uh come come to shore and and survive.
Stuff like this. And uh Yeah, it's one of the most widely read books in the English language, second only to the Bible for a long stretch of English history. That book was second to the Bible for many years as the most commonly read book, Fox's Book of Martyrs. Let me just tell you, I recommend you read it. I've read it before.
I need to read it again because what it'll do, it'll humble the bejebers out of you. In some of the stories your jaw will just ratchet open. You go what? you won't believe some of the stuff that was done. Yeah.
All right. Now Depressing stuff. Wow. Let's get to Elijah from Pennsylvania. Elijah, welcome, brother.
You're on the air. Team Matt, uh accord to Ask you, have you ever heard of these end time Islamic prophecies? N n now these are concerning the Mahdi.
So I did a little bit of research and it turns out that Sunni Islam, which makes up 85% of Muslims, They don't. Except these uh these traditions about the Mai D, but The Shia Islams make about 15%. They accept these prophetic traditions, and the tradition is. that according to these prophecies, the Mahdi, when he comes, he will uncover uh physical hidden scriptures uh somewhere in a cave in I believe it's Antioch in modern day Turkey or from Lake Typrias. And this is due to Confirm what Islam has been saying all along about Judaism and Christianity corrupting their scriptures.
And so they're gonna allegedly find Uh the original Old Testament, any original Gospels uh that prove that, um God is One person, and that Jesus was just a prophet and not a divine. And I want to know your thoughts on that because I think that This might happen during the end times, and like maybe the Antichrist, or if the Mahdi does come, he might use this to deceive. More Christians into, you know, becoming apostate, as we see in, I think, Second Thessalonians. Could be. You know, I've heard a lot about different ideas of what the Mahdi will be.
Um So, some of the stuff is he's going to appear and he's going to restore truth and justice and establish the truth of Islam. And he will destroy crosses and or Jesus is supposed to return, I think, and return and destroy crosses and point to Allah and. Uh Muhammad. And there are variations of it, but The sun will rise in the west, marking the door of repentance is closed, the great smoke will occur.
So what I want to do, you got me curious. I want to do a, because I've heard about this before, a comparison between the Mahdi and the Antichrist in the Bible. And to see what the similarities are. As far as the increase of scripture. I I'm not so sure about that one.
It might be one tradition Has uh New material will be, yeah.
So I don't know. I had to research it and see. about that.
Okay? I'm gonna research. Yeah, this is very interesting. When I first heard about that privacy, it reminded me of when, um When uh we we found uh dead sea scrolls and we found older versions of the old testament that uh confirm. Uh, the scriptures that we have today, so you know, you know, you know, when I heard that, I was thinking, you know, you know, you know, that might actually be possible since we already did this one once with the Old Testament, but um.
The, okay, we got a break, so hold on. We'll get back about the Disney scrolls. It didn't add anything, but I'll talk about it in a sec. Folks, we'll be right back after these messages. Please stay tuned.
We'll be right back. It's Matt Slick Live, taking a call at 877-207-2276. Here's Matt Slick. All right, Robin, welcome back to the show. If you want to give me a call, three open lines, 8772072276.
Elijah, you're. Back on the air. Yeah, before we break havin, I was trying to say that you had misheard me. I didn't say that the Dead Sea Scrolls added. I said that they proved that our scriptures that we had were accurate.
Yes, that's true. And regarding the book of Isaiah in particular, that's correct. Mm-hmm. Interesting. Yeah, um Yes, so that's a uh interesting prophecy.
You should definitely uh look into that. Um What was I gonna say? It was it was something else I wanted to talk about. Oh, yeah, that's right. 'Cause you had brought up the Maid the Ma Mafian Islamic Jesus coming to destroy crosses.
I don't know if you've seen the thirty minute video, but John MacArthur did a video like maybe about ten years ago. a sermon where he was talking about Uh Mahdi and Islamic Jesus, and he was showing very very Strikingly similar parallels between the Mahdi and the biblical Antichrist and Islamic Jesus and the false prophet of Revelation 13. And he did a very good job with that. And I was amazed by that. It was really good.
Yes. Yeah.
So the Mahdi is supposed to appear at the same time as the Antichrist, but also the same time, roughly, as the return of Christ.
So there's a similarity in the timing. The Ahmadi will, in Islam, will bring peace.
Well the Antichrist is supposed to bring peace.
Okay.
And so There's similarities there. Jesus is supposed to fight alongside the Muhammad against the false Messiah, the Ajal. And there's going to be a geographical location of Jerusalem and Damascus, which is the same as the Antichrist. And the Mahdi is supposed to achieve a global Islamic rule or global rule, and the same thing with the Antichrist is supposed to have a global rule. There'd be military conquests that the Mahdi does, as the same as the uh the Antichrist.
And whoever opposes uh them the antichrist and and the body will be destroyed. And um So yeah, okay. All right. Yeah, um s so question because I haven't really dug into this. Uh will the Islamic Jesus Oh, well he like Point people in a direction to like follow the Mahdi in a similar way that the false prophet of Revelation does with the Antichrist?
Yes, he's supposed to bear witness of the truth of Islam. And uh Uh let's see. He's supposed to say that Jesus, I assume that Muhammad was a true prophet. They claim that Jesus was a Muslim and that he bowed to Allah. And so they're going to say then his name is Esau in Arabic, that he's going to come back and he's going to restore.
uh the truth and and be a warrior for Islam.
So that's what they teach uh that Jesus is going to do, among other things. Kinda. Mm, yeah. It has been alright. Everybody wants Jesus.
They want Jesus as part of their religion. You know, Mormons, Jehovah's Witnesses, Muslims, you know, even the Buddhists. They want Jesus as part of them because they recognize how great Jesus was. And so they want part of him to um to demonstrate how great their true religion is. It's common stuff.
And the Muslims are no different.
Some people consider Islam to be a Christian heresy. Because it has so many Christian ideas, it denounces the Trinity and mentions the Trinity, it speaks of Mary, speaks of Moses. It speaks of salvation. It speaks of varying things that are consistent. or taken from, let's just say, Christian theology.
And so a lot of people, like I said, Islam is a Christian heresy. How about that? It's a way to look at it. Yeah, and did you know that a lot of the doctrines in Islam they stole it from? From a Jewish fable.
Yes. Oh yeah. Yeah, and uh Aryan heresies and various things that uh yeah, they didn't uh Muhammad is there's been books written about this. Muhammad didn't know what the truth was. Muhammad assumed the Trinity was three separate gods.
That's not what the Trinity is. Uh in one part of the part of the Quran he talks about Mary being part of the Trinity as some have taught. That's not what was never taught. Um You know, it's so it it denies Jesus was crucified, denied that he was resurrected. It's just it's so full of crud.
It's just it's so it's such a joke. And it's a very powerful demonic influence in Islam, which I consider to be Um uh a demonic religion. It denies the true God, the true Christ, true salvation. The redemptive work, it denies it all, and then will kill you. uh and it become violent.
Uh in order to promote and expand its own power. And this is the methodology of evil. And that's what Islam is. Yeah, I remember talking with my mom once. We were saying, just imagine how many more born-again believers there would be.
if uh Islam never existed. No, you know you know you know that's one possibility, but then all of those all of those same Muslims, uh, they could probably, you know, convert to the non-Christian cults like Mormonism, uh, Jehovah's Witnesses, Catholicism, so yeah.
Well, you just never know. You never know how God works. But we can just speculate. But the thing is, it's true that Islam is an evil religion based in paganism. Um In the Ka'aba, there were 360 idols, 360 days of a year.
And this is a whole nother topic of why 360 instead of 365. And there's some theories about that. And by 360 degrees in a circle, it looks like that, you know. About 2,500 years ago or 2,300 years ago, the year was actually 360 days, and something happened celestially. That caused a shift in the Earth's orbit in 365 days, 5 hours, 48 minutes, and 46 seconds is how long the year is.
But that's another topic. There's some documentation for this.
So Muhammad supposedly went into the Kaaba where 360 idols were, he destroyed all of them except for one. Allah. And that's the moon god. Why is Islam's symbol the crescent moon?
So there's a lot of tying in there, a lot of people written on this.
Okay.
Yep, uh it was it was nice talking to you. Uh, this is very interesting. I guess I'll call you back uh next week to talk more with you about it.
Okay, brother.
Sounds good. Sounds good. Alright, you have a good one. All right, man.
Well, I got to clear my throat there.
Sorry about that. All right. Um. Yeah, I think we got that, and that's like that, and that's the way we go.
Okay, good. So, uh,. We have nobody waiting right now. I just want to let you know that we stand on the air by your support. Please consider supporting us.
Um I'm actually laughing at At our bank account level, because it's just, you know, it's just time for God to do something. And so, you know, I'm not worried. We have donors and we have people, and people usually come through at the last minute. We've had this happen so many times over the years.
So I'm just letting people know that if you want to support us, you can. And you don't have to. I'm not saying you have to. I'm not trying to guilt whip anybody. If you like what you hear in the radio and you want to see it conti or see hear it continue, then please consider supporting us.
You can just go to carm.org in the top of the page. Is the word donate, and you can check it out. And so, what we do is, just let you know, I'm give a little bit of a heads up. We support the missionaries in South America. I was able to pay their their support this month, but our missionaries in Africa wasn't able to.
So I had to postpone the time to make the payment. And apparently, you know, I told one of them in the meeting today what their situation is. He's going to have to trust God. That's just how it is.
So it's you know, it's just it's life. And God is sovereign. God is good. And so, just letting people know. And if you want to support us, we ask $10 a month, it's not very much.
And you can just do that. It's really easy. And you can also pray for us. We need that prayer. We definitely need the prayer.
Please consider supporting us in that prayerful effort. And what would I recommend or ask that you pray about? I ask that, as far as the missionaries go, that you would give them the unction and the ability. At least in South America, because they're working on two sites. One is a Spanish, one is in Portuguese.
In Brazil, we have a guy. David M R And um Brazil, and we have another guy, Carlos, in Colombia. and they both speak really good English. And we had our meeting this morning and they show up and uh you know on Friday meetings.
Okay, so They run their respective websites from CARM in those languages as well as do other things, teaching online, and we support them so that they can do that. And I get uh reports from them periodically on the appreciation that people have for those respective websites in those languages from all over the world. Because Spanish is a very popular language worldwide, and so is Portuguese. And so there's a lot of people who speak those languages, and both of them tell me they get emails from people saying, Thank you, thank you, it's really helpful. You know, it's just one of the things.
And also. Our missionaries that we support, they're not complete missionaries, we support, and they get support from other ministries as well. At least I know one of them does. I don't know about the other one. Went to Nigeria because that's just between him and the Lord, you know.
But we support them with a few hundred dollars a month. And it enables them to have gasoline and print up tracks. The guy in Nigeria, we call him Moses. That's not his real name, but for obvious reasons, we've got to keep him under rep. It sounds phony.
A guy in Nigeria, a little bit of money. No, we've known him for years, and he's a great guy, and he serves the Lord. And he was attacked. physically by Christians. About a week and a half, two weeks ago, when he was speaking of God's election and predestination right out of scripture.
Right out of scripture, quoting the verse that he said, a lot of people loved it because they're turning to the Bible and they were reading what it says, and others physically attacked them. And he had to go get the hospital and get stuff taken care of.
So he's printing up tracks. To spread, that just talk about. The true doctrine of God and the true doctrine of what's going on, and not this man-centered stuff that is destroying the spiritual landscape of Nigeria. We have the onslaught of Islam and the murderous actions of the the Muslims coming in with weapons, automatic weapons, and on motorcycles, going into villages at night, wiping out villages and then fleeing. Uh so this is is is happening a lot.
And um There's some stuff like that. But anyway. So uh I'm just saying, it's what we d we do and uh we have to pay for that and and other things. And and so uh what I'm thinking about doing is working up a uh a spreadsheet, a table putting up on Carm so you can see how the what the basics are th of what we do. I think that that's fair.
People need to know what we're supporting and what this stuff goes for. And so and I won't give all of the stuff because there are certain security issues that we want to make sure people don't have access to certain directions and know what to get in to try and mess it up because we've had people try things over the years.
So there you go. All right? Remember, no live show this coming Monday. And that would be, let's see, that the 7th, I think it is. On the 7th, no live show because Memorial Day.
So I'll be taking that day off. And then, no live show on the 11th because I got to go speak at a conference.
So, there you go. May the Lord bless you and please pray for this ministry. We definitely need it. And you can support us at carm.org, top of the page, the word donate. But we need those prayers.
The major goal. is to glorify God, and second, To equip the body of Christ. That's why we exist, and we have people who help us. like Charlie And Laura and Keith at the radio station, and others who are doing emails, Dave and others. Who help us out a great deal.
We're very grateful for their ministry of service to the Lord with Karm. There's the music I am going to get out of here. May the Lord bless you. And by his grace, we'll see you next week on Tuesday. Tuesday.
Have a great weekend everybody. God bless. Another program powered by the Truth Network.
