All right, welcome to the show. It's me, Matt Slicker, listen to Matt Slick Live. Today's date. Is let's see, September 2nd, 2026. And I gotta fix something with my camera.

But if you wanna give me a call, all you gotta do is dial 8772072276. I want to hear from you. Give me a call. And uh I'm working on an interesting article I want to talk about a little bit. because it's one of those kind of articles, at least for me.

the kind of article that takes a lot of thinking and have to r literally will write the same paragraph 10, 15 times. as I work through, think about things. expand on stuff Try not to sound too highfalutin and all that kind of stuff. And I thought I might go over a little bit of what it is that I was writing on. And do that in a second here.

Now, if you want to call me, all you got to do is. Just dilate 772072276. You can also send an email to info at carm.org info at carm.org. Put the subject line rate of comment or rate of question, and we can get to you. All right.

So, by the way, I'll be down speaking at a conference on Saturday, July. Good dog. September 12th. And so If you are interested in attending this conference in Southern California, all you gotta do is go to the carm.org website, carm.org. and forward slash calendar and you'll see the information you need there for that date.

And uh there's a way to get um a free uh just free sign-up. It normally costs $75 to get in for the days or t however many days it is. It's Friday night, Saturday, and Sunday. I'll be preaching Sunday at a church in Cor Corona, it turns out. And so, um Uh At a Korean church, actually, I gotta get all the information on that.

I just was told today: hey, they want me to preach, so okay, good.

So, if you go to Ministry to Muslims, the word ministry to t-o-muslims.com, you can see all the information. But, like I said, on my website, there's the links already there. And if you sign up, you put the word missions there in as a discount code, you get free tickets. Pretty good, huh?

Now, the reason this might be interesting for those who are down in the area, who listen in podcasts, who might say, hey, they're listening to the radio and have friends down there and contact them. We're going to have about 20 speakers. There's going to be a lot of people there. As I said yesterday when I was talking about this, I'm the one who knows the least about Islam of all those people there. Several of them speak Arabic and have been working for decades just on Islam.

And so they're really highly qualified, highly educated. And then George, the guy who runs it up, whenever he asked me to speak, I'm like, oh man, every time I think, man, you know, I've forgotten, or they've forgotten more since lunch than I've ever learned. uh on the topic of Islam. But he likes me to come in anyway and teach on Christian theological perspectives as they relate to Islam. And that's what I do.

That's my niche. I know theology a lot really well. and been debating it and teaching it for almost fifty years.

So, I'll be doing topics on the Christian Trinity is sufficient for explaining everything where the God of Islam is not. And then on the workshop, I'm going to be doing the Christian Trinity explains why redemption is necessary, how it's accomplished, and what it is where Islam cannot.

So, that's what I'll be doing from what's going on. Rumble rant from Stephen. Thank you very much. Really appreciate that. We had a lot of stuff going on.

Boy, I just kind of talked. We got nobody waiting. We got nobody waiting right now, which is okay.

So uh there you go. Uh there you go now. I want to move this up here in this screen right here. And then what I want to do. is get to this article and uh things a lot, Steve.

A rant in Rumble, you can submit money, and I'm gonna go check and see how much is in there. Not that much, you know, because it's not what we do it, we don't do it for money. But people do donate, and it really does help, especially lately, because we are very low at the Carm Intergalactic Headquarters, the funds. And we know that a few people have helped out in the past 24 hours and really appreciate that. Really do, we do need it.

And what I'm thinking about doing is putting up a, I think I'm supposed to do this anyway. uh putting up a um a budget that what we have and what we do and our expenses, because we're five hundred one C three and uh all that kind of stuff is accessible, supposed to be accessible to uh people because that's what that's what it requires. And so I might do that, just put that information up there.

So Wow. Oh my goodness. Yeah. Mm-hmm. Wow.

Yeah. Oof. Wow. I just checked the uh the total funds in the Karma account. And uh Um Down.

Wow. Boy, God's going to do something. We haven't been this low in 20 years.

So, you know, praise God. We. Oh man. And I got to pay the missionaries tomorrow. We'll see if that even happens.

Whoa, all right. You know, I'm I'm having a good time. You know, the Lord has just provided so many times, so many different ways.

So all I can do is just praise him and just ask him for his glory. All right, enough of that stuff.

Now, what am I working on? I'm working on this article, and I got to slow down when I go through this because it's a little bit heady. But Not really.

So What I mean by heady Is it takes a little bit of thinking.

Now, I'm going to introduce a couple concepts because there's a question I've been working on, a question. What happened to Adam at the fall? It's a simple question. What happened to him? I've always wondered what this is, and I finally decided to.

Pick it apart, to go down deep, to do some thinking. And I've been working on this article now for. two or three days. Not just a little, but working on it. Because the first...

Paragraph led to the second which led to the third. That's how it works, right? And um Then I had to rewrite.

Okay, okay, I got that second paragraph, but that affects us.

So I had to rewrite that, rewrite this. And then I developed a table to make it. more better, to make it even more betterer. And so, hopefully, people can understand what I'm talking about.

So, let me get into this a little bit and explain it.

So what happened uh to to Adam Metaphysically metaphysically.

So what does that mean? Uh Oh interesting. The last two times he donated didn't get a reply. Interesting.

Well, that's something to test. We'll have to test something like that. We'll do it after the show.

Okay, now. Metaphysics deals with that set of things That are not spatially located, don't have physical characteristics. like a thought. or a moral. Or A a spirit.

Things like that are metaphysical.

Now, when we talk about the issue of metaphysics, And I was thinking about this a lot going to bed last night. Metaphysical beings require metaphysical proofs. I'm taking a tangent here. This isn't really what I'm talking about, but it's like a tangent about metaphysics.

So if you want proof that in my pantry are is a loaf of bread. Then the way to demonstrate that there is a loaf of bread in my pantry is to. Walk to the pantry. Open the door. And look and say, hey, right there.

I see a loaf of bread. I know there's one there because I bought it and I saw it today.

So Checking on a physical object. Is determined and can be verified in different ways. One of them is by just looking at it. picking it up and holding it. But we can't pick up or locate the planet Mars or Venus.

So, the methodology for determining its actuality is by sight. Etc., or rovers that go there and land on there and send pictures back, and they can test the mathematical effects of a body, a planetary body, and other planetary bodies. And so there's ways of detecting.

Okay, but that which is not limited by physical space. is metaphysical.

So a a concept like tree nest Or the very nature of God, who is not restricted to or measured by physical characteristics.

So, a metaphysical being. would require metaphysical proof. And this is one of the mistakes that a lot of atheists make. They'll say, prove to me. using science that God exists.

What they're doing is saying, prove to me. A metaphysical being exists. by using non-metaphysical means.

So, it's a category error on this bot.

Okay, lean away. Metaphysics.

Now you get what it is.

So, here's the question: What happened to Adam metaphysically? That's the question. At the fall. Because what happened to him relates to us.

So I've been thinking about this. And been wondering about it literally for months, actually. It was only recently that I was I learned about uh distinctions of of um Nature versus person. And so I'm going to discuss that a little bit: nature versus person, what's going on there. It might sound a little bit lofty, but I want to break this down.

I'm going to break this down and make it make sense. Because it's pretty easy.

So, I want you to think of a toolbox. This is the analogy you come up with: a toolbox. And in the toolbox are a bunch of tools. That's the nature. of something.

It is what it is and it has characteristics or things in that nature. a toolbox. A person, however, is not the same thing as the nature. A person is the one who acts according to the nature.

So a person would use the tools in the toolbox.

So think of the nature as a bunch of tools. And the person as the one who uses the tools.

So think of nature. uh of a human as Something with properties or characteristics like. be able to think Be rational. Make moral choices, having a will. These are attributes and essential characteristics of a human nature.

Essential means you can't take them away and still have what you are. Essential characteristics or essential properties make something what it is.

so an essential property of a circle would be roundedness.

Okay? An essential property of a square would be corners.

Okay.

So If you take away corners from a square, it's no longer a square. You take roundness for away from a circle, it's no longer A circle. because the essential property is necessary for what it is. Same thing with a human. the necessary properties of being a human are things like made in God's image.

We have the ability to reason. to will. to make decisions. to make moral decisions, and so on. But nature doesn't do anything, like the toolbox full of tools just sits there, it doesn't do anything.

What does something is the person. The person works according to what those tools are or the nature.

So person is the one who does the reasoning. who exercises the will, who makes those moral choices. And that's the difference. The nature is the foundation upon which a person. Yeah.

a nature consists of the things, uh that make up a person. And the person is one who acts according to the nature. I hope that makes sense. It's simple. Pretty easy, okay.

So Oh, there we go. Good breaking point. And we'll get in with the rest of this after the break. If you want to give me a call, it's 877-207-2276. We'll be right back.

It's Matt Slick Live, taking your call at 877-207-2276. Here's Matt Slick. Alright, everybody, welcome back to the show. If you want to give me a call, 877-20-722-272. seven six.

Now I just published during the break my article I'm working on, so you can go to the home page and check it out. It would take about three minutes to read.

So let me continue with this because for me, this is fun stuff and because it has ramifications. I'll get to those a little bit.

So.

Alright, now after Adam fell His nature didn't change.

Now this is necessary. because we are what we are by nature. And so if his nature changed, then Adam would no longer be Adam.

So For example, this would be really exaggerating: a man can't become a cat. because his nature is not catness.

So if if we just it's in it's incompatible, it doesn't work.

So, the only way Adam could still be Adam is if the essential characteristics of his essence remained. What, then, is affected? It's his person. Because person is what was affected.

So he still remained Was called the Imagiode, the image of God, Genesis 1:26, 27. Still possessing a will, still has a mind, still makes conscious choices, same faculties as before. But what's changed? Is the condition in which those faculties are exercised, those abilities.

So the metaphysical effect of the fallen atom Was in his person. He was corrupted and inclined towards sin. His will, mind, and conscience. are now operated in a sinful state, disordered, wrong.

Okay.

Okay.

Now Okay. This to me is really helpful. As a is a guy who likes to think through things and worries about stuff like that. and thinks about stuff. You know, my wife would say, My wife, before she passed away, would say things like, she learned not to.

She's like, what are you thinking? I'll use this as an example. I'd say things like, well, what I'm thinking about is the metaphysical relationship between the nature of Adam and the person of Adam, because the sin affected one and or both, but it can't be that it deleteriously affected the nature, because if it did, then continuity is lost.

So what I'm really trying to work through is the issue of what particularly in him metaphysically, not related to the physical aspect, was affected by the fall. look at her and she would just stare at me. I'd say stuff like that and she'd go That's nice. That she she was done. And I'd say, want me to tell you some more?

She goes, no, that's okay. That's all right. As long as it makes you happy. And I'd say, oh, yeah. Here, let me explain some more stuff.

And she'd stare at me like I'm a moron. I'd say, okay, never mind. You know, I'll go away.

So, uh Yeah. It's so I'm thinking of some more stuff I would say to her. I'd say, in light of that kind of contextual conversation, I'd say, so, Han. When you when you wa when you're with your lady friends And they say, What's your husband like? What do you say?

I'm just giving her a wide open door to insult me, you know. Because all the other guys are normal. Yeah, they watch NASCAR, football, baseball. You know, the stuff like that. What is your husband doing?

Oh boy, you don't want to know. 'Kay. And uh it's so any rate. I was going to kick out of that kind of thing. Do you talk to him about what I'm like?

She's eyes bug out.

So well, sometimes, um but it doesn't go well. Exactly. I'm cracking up. Oh, I miss my wife. Ah.

Anyway.

So, these are the kinds of things I actually think about, and they're entertaining to me.

So I yes, I know I got issues. Trust me, I know.

So, what does it mean for us?

Well, look at this. It says in. I'm going to read this. I'm going to read this because I think this is good stuff.

Okay.

Oof. And this nature person stuff reflects the doctrine of the Trinity as well. But that's not what I'm talking about. If I go to Romans 5:19, it says. As through the one man's disobedience, that's Adam's sin.

It says the many were made sinners. We were made sinners by what Adam did.

So what does this mean to us?

Well, we fell in Adam. every person born after Adam still acts according to the consistency of its human nature, but is now made a sinner. His person is what is attributed to sin.

Okay, so personhood has sin. not in nature. And I think this is interesting. Uh hope. deal with this some more and uh Yeah, I'm going to get this article up and I'm going to work on it some more.

And so the thing is, we're represented by Adam, so when he fell, we fell in him, called original sin. And some of the other effects of this upon us is that we're now operating from a corrupted condition. Our person is now operating from corruption. have fallenness in our persons.

So the image of God remains intact in us, the imaggio de. That's Latin, I believe it is. The Immaggio Dei. It's just a phrase that some theologians will say: was the Immaggio De lost after the fall? It's just the image of God in us and those attributes that belong to us that are communicable attributes.

Anyway, so the result of this is that our hearts are full of wickedness, Jeremiah 17:9. and were enslaved to sin, Romans six, fourteen through twenty. And we do not receive spiritual things, 1 Corinthians 2:14, are dead in our sins, Ephesians 2:1, and are by nature children of wrath, Ephesians 2:3. And. we can do no good.

Romans three, ten, eleven, twelve.

So When I'm thinking about this, I want to know. The differentiation between nature and person, and how this works. For me Oh man. Like, I'll be watching TV. I was watching TV last night, right?

And I'm watching TV and I'm thinking about this. And I'll pause the TV and go into my phone, which is a fold phone. I go into my notes and I write down a sentence or two. And I go, that means this, that means that. And I'm like, yeah, good stuff.

I would do that when my wife was still alive, too. I'd say, can you hold on? I got to write something down. She'd go, okay. Take me a minute, and I'd say, Okay, I'm done.

And then we turn the TV, you know, unpause it. She just put up with me. Poor woman, she put up a lot of stuff with you, you know. What are you shopping that T V for? I'm thinking about metaphysical relationships.

No, it's okay. Just just go ahead and do what you gotta do.

Okay.

And uh So, uh I mean, I always think It'd be kind of fun is to have a wives group, wives of Christian apologists. And then And then sneak a camera in there. and see what they say. Yeah, you know. It'd be interesting.

Oh, you think your husband's got issues? Oh, listen to this. Because I've met a few apologists who are like me. There's a few of us in the world. And they'll be at the conference, a lot of them.

And, you know, I've been on the air on panel discussions with other apologists who love doing what I do, and vice versa. We love this kind of stuff. And I'll tell you. It's fun. For me, it's fun, and I know they enjoyed it as well.

And we're an abnormal breed.

Okay, we're an abnormal brain breed and um But for us, it's fun talking about this kind of stuff. I have a friend, Eli El Yala, and we'll just. We'll just talk about stuff, you know. metaphysics related to presuppositional apologetics, and we're like, yeah. Hey, let's talk about that for a while.

Okay.

Whoa. I'm entertaining myself. I don't know if you guys are entertaining, but I am. Anyway, so the fall of Adam affected us deleteriously. That means hidden, harmful effects of spiritual deadness.

We'll get to it a little bit more after the break. Maybe you might want to give me a call. We can talk about anything you want, this or something else. All you got to do is dial 8772-07-2276. We'll be right back.

It's Matt Slick Live, taking your calls at 877-207-2276. Here's Matt Slick. All right, everyone, welcome to the show. Welcome back after the break, bottom of the hour. If you want to give me a call, please do.

We have nobody waiting right now. But the number is 877-207-2276. I can only carry this topic so long. before um Before we need to kind of get to the calls.

So if you want to call me, please do.

Now I want to take you a little bit further into this. Since the effect of the fall, is that we have a fallen nature. Hearts are wicked, deceitful, enslaved to sin, can't do good, don't seek for God, etc. That's the effect that happened on Adam, and we inherited that.

Now what's what I'm curious about is How is it? that the effect of the fall is carried to our person.

Now I haven't thought of that one or thought that one through yet. Because uh Yeah. Because, well, I won't get into that. It's too complicated. But it's more issues here, and I'm going to work on that one as well.

So there you go.

Now, here's the thing: this is interesting because when the Bible tells us what the result of the fall is upon us, it's very. Deleterious, very hidden, harmful effects, spiritually deleterious.

Okay.

And this is why And it comes down to something very simple. Very simple, I think. It's this verse that Jesus says, which I have been using more and more and thinking about more and more. is one of those verses, in my opinion. that is critical in understanding Christian theology.

Now I believe that uh Colossians 2.14 is critical. I believe that uh Romans 4:5 is critical. And John 6:65. And this is what Jesus says: for this reason I have said to you that no one can come to me. unless it has been granted him from the father.

If the effect of Adam's ascent Of course. Excuse me. If the effect of Adam's hidden upon us. was such that we are in our persons affected.

Now, the question I'm going to be looking at is: is our nature affected? Because ultimately, the nature can't be changed. But the condition of it can be affected. It would seem, I gotta work through that as well. There's a lot of think.

I actually think like this, I do.

So.

If it's the case, just to get more simple, if it's the case that the person now is enslaved to sin, his heart's wicked, doesn't receive spiritual things. The deadness sinned by nature tells of wrath, it can't do any good. then maybe that's why Jesus says uh no one can come to him unless it's been granted him from the father. And lately, I've been quoting this verse more and more with people in light of a certain teaching. Human free will.

Now, here's another question related to this topic. If human free will exists, and it does, just the ability to make a choice. That's not forced. that you just decide what you want to do. It's consistent with who and what you are.

Well, that's free will.

Okay.

Then it would impl the implication is that the effect of Adam's sin upon us, making us sinners. being enslaved to sin, not receiving spiritual things, being dead in our sins, etcetera. Then it makes sense that we can't come to Christ unless God grants it to us. And that verse, John 6, 65. is really important.

I more and more lately have noticed something. in my discussions with Christians and apostolics. Let's just call them that. The Eastern Orthodox, Roman Catholics, they like to call themselves apostolics. I don't like to grant that because it grants them too much.

But the EO and the RC. They like to tell me regularly, and as well as the Mormons, and a lot of others within Protestantism. That salvation is completely and totally up to your free will. You just need the ability to. be uh exposed to the truth and it's up to you and your free will to make a choice.

And I'm hearing this more and more. And to me, That is a humanist philosophy. put into biblical um Colin. It's humanist philosophy. Because I don't see anything in scripture that says that.

I'm not seeing anything in scripture that says. Is just up to you. All you need is the right information and the right condition. This is what they say. But that's not what I see in Scripture.

What I say in Scripture is the heart's wicked. He slayed a sin, doesn't seek for God, doesn't do any good, deaden their sins, by nature till the wrath. does not receive spiritual things. Which makes sense when Jesus says, You can't come to me unless it's granted by the Father. Yeah.

Now See, I believe that theology interacts with other theology, certain aspects of theology interact with other things. Imagine a hair ball, a ball full of yarn, whatever you want to call it, different threads. You pull on one, everything else is affected. What's mostly affected are the things nearest it. And so the idea here of human free will, which we still have human free will, is part of the nature of humanness.

But even though it's fallen, the condition of our free will is now affected, in that the condition is now that it will choose sinfully, freely choose sinfully. And this is why God's got to interact. This is something I'm noticing, and I'm going to see if I can say this properly. I'm noticing an increase in the division between God-centered work and man-centered work. and that there's an increase in my subjective experience opinion, is an increase in man-centered theology where salvation is d completely and totally dependent on your ability, your wisdom, your knowledge, your spiritual acumen.

Once you receive the knowledge, once God has been, you know, you've learned you're a sinner and that Jesus is the way, and that it's just up to the believer. And uh The scriptures just speak against it. They just speak contrary to it. And this is what I found to be very interesting for me.

So anyway, for me, all of this kind of stuff is interrelated. and I find it fascinating. I find it Fascinating. All right.

Having said that, hope we didn't bore you guys too much with that. Let's get to John from Utah. John, welcome. You're on the air. Hey, Matt.

I am really interested in the New Testament canon. And I want your take on some of the disputed books, like 2 Peter. Uh James Why do you accept those? as uh scripture. Because I trust that God in His sovereignty was able to work through churches and through history and periods of time to settle the issue finally.

And I trust that God did that with the Christians and the believers through the first few centuries.

Okay.

Good enough. Did that me? That's why. Because there were debates about Hebrews, James, Revelation. And so there are people got together and there were councils that got together.

Now this is what's really important. The councils didn't have the authority to tell us what God's word is. Because if they had the authority to tell us what God's word is, that means they first had to have the authority. Where do they get the authority from?

Well, from God's word. Which means then that they had to know what the Word of God was before they could have, which gives them the authority to say what the Word of God is. which is circular, it doesn't work. Therefore, it's not logically possible that they had the authority to tell us what God's word is. They simply recognized it because they were the sheep of God, the people of God.

And that's what I believe.

Okay.

What about some of the other books that are not considered scripture, but were still recognized by some? Like the shepherd of Hermos, for instance.

Some people thought that was scripture, but Mm-hmm. Yeah. And there are extra books in the Catholic canon, the East Orthodox canon, Oriental canon. And uh I don't recognize those churches eas as even being Christian. Because they they preach a false gospel and they promote idolatry.

And so they are not true religions. They don't have the truth. And this is why they don't listen to the voice of Christ and recognize the true voice of Christ and listen to other teachers.

Okay, 'cause uh John Ten, two. No, that's not it. Ten A stranger they simply will not follow, but will flee from him, because they do not know the voice of the strangers.

So, God's sheep follow the voice of Christ. The Eastern Orthodox, Roman Catholics, and Orientals, Oriental Orthodox, they all preach a false gospel. and they all um promote idolatry. And so they're not true Christian churches, so they don't have the they don't listen to the voice of God.

Okay.

Okay.

Thank you. Anything else? Are you uh A Protestant or looking to sell for what? I'm Protestant, yeah. I'm just very interested in the subject.

I think it's really neat. I love those charts that show. um when each book was mentioned, you know, by which early church father Okay.

Well, let me open up a file. I may have a book I can recommend to you. If I can open up my file, and if I hopefully have my. Notes on the book And I could open up. Maybe I'll just do it this way.

Open up my Kindle. I've got a really good book that goes through a lot. I think it goes through a lot of what we're talking about here. And I'm trying to find my notes.

So hold on, I'll be really fast. Remember the author? Yeah, I'm gonna look open it up. I have everything on Kindle. And it's opening.

Come on. you know he watched Kindle never opens. You know, like a watch pod never boils.

So it's a it's uh opening. Come on, you can do it. I'm talking to my computer. And there's a break so uh There's a break.

So hold on. I'll get you that after the break, and then we'll get the next caller, okay, buddy?

So hold on now. Hey boxing. We'll be right back after these messages. Hope you're enjoying the show so far, please. Stay tuned.

It's Matt Slick Live, taking a call at 877-207-2276. Here's Matt Slick. All right, and welcome back to the show. Let's get back on with John from Utah. John is still there.

I'm still here.

Alright, well, thanks for waiting, but I'm sorry I couldn't find my book. I opened it up. And it's not Kindle's changed things. And so now I can't find it. And um so I went to the middle of the middle.

By FF Bruce or Bruce Metzger. Yeah, both of those are good. Both of those authors are really good regarding that kind of stuff. And uh So, either one, but that's not the one. I think.

It's called the Canon of Scripture, if I remember correctly. And then you have the formation of the canon, the biblical canon, volume one and two. Um And so I think it's the canon of scripture. I think that's by F. F.

Bruce.

Well, the one I'm looking at here online is uh Where'd you go? Where'd you go? Where'd you go? can the scripture. It is F F Bruce, And another one, The Formation of Biblical Cannon by McDonald rings a bell.

By that rings a bell. And there's another one by Philip Kayser, K-A-Y-S-E-R. And that's a philosophi a phil a presuppositional study.

So and you recommend all of those?

Well, FF Bruce, of course, Metzger, of course. Kayser, I'm trying to. Let's see if I have this. the Canvas scripture. Let's see if I can look.

It really drives me crazy. Um cannon And Nope, let's try this K Y S E R. Yeah. No, I don't have it. Not everything ported over to the new system, so I got a little ripped off here, I think, but um.

Anyway.

That's where it is. I would just uh check out those And they'll recommend our stuff. You can go to different websites. Good, I go to Reform websites if I were you, and they have good theology there. and a Puritan board, I think it is a Puritan something.

And you can ask and look there. But that's that's what I got I can't believe I can't find that Because I know I've got stuff. The canon of scripture. Oh, Biblecanon.org is also good. Biblecanon.

Okay, I'll check that out. Thank you, Matt. All right, buddy. God bless, man. All right.

Alright, mm-bye.

Okay, bye. All right, there we go.

Now Let's get to next longest waiting is Jermaine. Hey, Jermaine. Welcome, buddy. You're on the air. And I just wanted to pick up where we left off yesterday with the topic of female apostles.

Okay.

You're a little more.

Okay, I'll it am I better now?

Okay, better.

Okay, there you go.

Okay.

Yes, so the the people who bring up the topic of female apostles even if they found something that references it, wouldn't we need a little more scriptural evidence before we wholeheartedly they'll go off and say Oh, women could be apostles too, or women were. Apostles. Sneeze, hold on. Oh, I had a sneeze coming.

Sorry, but yes, we would need more evidence. Even if, hypothetically, like I said yesterday, if we could show that there was a female apostle, to what extent and what type of apostle is it, because there are seven different kinds, specifically when we understand that the elder, pastor is an elder, can't be one by definition of the pastoral epistles.

So when people are there trying to show that women can be apostles, therefore we can now reinterpret and ignore what Paul clearly said in the pastoral epistles as a sinful move by them. Because they're setting scripture against scripture by then importing their desire and their position into the scriptures without reading what it says. We know the Bible clearly says that the pastor, an elder, is to be aneri escuda katz, a man of one woman, husband of one wife. That's what it's supposed to be. A woman can't do that.

cannot do it. And so when you find Junia in Romans sixteen being strong amo or well known among the apostles or stuff, it just means it can't mean that she had apostolic authority. It just means that she was among them. And/or one of the seven levels or seven kinds of apostle, not a false one, of course, there'd be six remaining, then that's all it would be. At the most, and it could just mean, like I said before, one who's sent or one who's well known among the apostles.

That's all. That sounds good to me. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, so I have done a study on it, and I have found that people try and justify women pastors and elders.

Even though the Bible, and the reason they do that by going to the apostles, is because they see what it says in. Titus and Timothy. And they go, well, let's contradict that over here. They're searching. for what they want to find.

Not the truth. All right, buddy. Yeah, and for me, this is an attack on women. It's just, I don't think there's enough evidence to justify that. That's my main.

Sorry, man. Yeah, there's not enough evidence to justify uh female apostles. Nope. That there's just not. not there.

Okay, buddy. There you go. All right, thanks bye, Matt. Appreciate it. All right, man.

Thanks. Hey, before we get to the next caller, I just want to let you know that we stay on the air by your support. This has been a difficult time. Oh, man. What?

Wow. Very difficult time, especially at the moment. But So if you want to if you like oh man, if you like what Carm stands for, you like what's going on on the radio, please consider supporting us. Just go to karm.org forward slash donate or karm.org and top of the page, you'll see the the link for donations. And we would greatly Greatly appreciate that more than you realize.

Especially now.

So there you go.

All right.

All right.

Let's get on with next longest waiting is. Michael from Ohio. Michael, welcome. You're on the air. I met um Great show you got here.

My question is in Genesis. with the first and second creation stories. Um The second creation story, when you know, it says that in a guy created man and woman. Uh my question is Could that be After the fall of Adam and Eve, To um help populate the the earth because it doesn't say anything about Adam and Eve haven't any daughters. And I'm confused.

I'm confused.

So, Genesis one, Genesis two. Genesis 1 is a more detailed creation account, and Genesis 2 is simply an extraction of some of the information for a theological point.

So that's what's going on there.

So I'm not sure what your question was, but it's because you said, but it doesn't say they had daughters.

So I'm not sure. What's your what's the Edom and Eve doesn't say that they had any daughters? You know, they had Cain and Abel, Cain killed Abel, and then they had Seth. And then, you know, that was after they were, uh, you know, their fall from paradise. Or the Golden Vegan.

And then in Genesis 2, I don't have my Bible with me. I'm just trying to get to some memory. Um You know, it says, you know, the second creation where God created you know, man and woman And you know Our own image. And I was just wondering if that you know, a second creation with the woman And you know, more men and more women in the world. No, no, no, no, no, no, no.

There's no second creation. There's only one creation.

Okay just one.

Now if you go to Genesis 5:4, it says the days of Adam after he became the father of Seth were eight hundred years, and he had other sons and daughters. as Genesis five four.

So there's only one creation. Don't think two creations. One creation, Genesis 1 and Genesis 2, are descriptions of the same creation work of God from different perspectives for different theological reasons.

Okay.

Okay.

Good luck. That's good enough for me. Hey, I like this show very much. I listen to it whenever I can. Good job you're doing out there.

Well, praise God and thanks, and hopefully, we'll stay on the air. We'll see. Yeah. All right, all right. God bless.

Thank you. Bye-bye.

Okay bye. All right, now let's get to Chris from Utah. Chris, welcome. You're on the year. What do you got, buddy?

Mm-hmm. Hi, Matt. Hey, I've got a question for you about the Lord's Prayer.

Okay.

instruct us to to pray to God, lead us not into temptation.

Well, I thought good God didn't lead anyone in his temptation. Right, it's just a poetic way, or just a way of just petitioning God to deliver us from that which is evil. That's all it is.

Okay.

Yeah. Okay.

I mean, I really like the Lord's Prayer, and I haven't been a Christian that long, and I use it as a framework for my own prayer.

So I just thought, well.

Okay, but it's just poetic, something kind of a way of saying that.

Okay, that makes sense. Yeah, I mean think about it. He says, give us this day our daily bread. You know And forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us, or forgive us our sins as we forgive those who are indebted to us.

So there's this. The prayer is in one sense literal, another sense not to be taken literal, because it just depends.

So it's just a long-term tension that. People have understood because James 1:13, God does not tempt us, He doesn't lead us into that kind of temptation.

So He's just saying, just deliver us from this. It's all just look at it that way. Just.

Now I could make the theological I could make the theological The thing with using logic and philosophy and theology: that God can lead you into an area where you will be tempted, but He's not doing the tempting. Because he can bring us into a place where our faith is tested. And so I'm just saying there's theological ways of bringing this kind of stuff up. And I'm not saying that's what's there, but it's a well-discussed issue. That lead is not in a temptation.

Basically, it comes down to God, just. Just make it so it's easy for us because we don't want to be tempted because we're weak. No, I get that. Yeah, I get that. All right.

Okay.

That makes sense to me, I guess. I'll just I'll kind of look at it in a different way. All right.

Well, sounds good, brother. Thank you. Thank you. Have a good day. You too, man.

God bless. Okay, bye-bye. All right, now we don't have anybody waiting right now. We've got two minutes left in the show, so let me just tell you that if you like what you hear, please consider supporting us. All you have to do.

If you want to, just go to carm.org and look at the top of the page. You'll see the word donate. It's easy. Easy peasy, and you can set it up. We ask $10 a month for donations because it helps us create budgets.

And for the people we reach, and for the articles we've written, and the amount of work done, I think that's pretty reasonable. And I heard someone once say, you pay where you get fed.

So if you're getting fed here, p please consider supporting us.

Now if you don't want to, that's okay. If you don't have the funds, don't worry about it. Don't feel bad. I don't want you to feel bad. If you like what you are hearing and stuff, but it just doesn't work for you to support, that's okay.

No problem. It doesn't bother me any. I would ask then that you would pray and just support us prayerfully and ask God to open up doors and. And stuff like that.

Okay, it's easy. Prayer's easy. You know, just lift it up, Matt. I mean, they say, Lord, that Matt guy, he needs a lot of help. Amen, brother.

And so you could pray and ask God to bless us, and He already has. You know, praise God for what he's done, and praise God for what he will do. And he's going to do the same thing in your life as well. The tough part is trusting him. It's easy when everything the bank accounts are full and the gas tanks are full and the pantries are full.

It's not so easy to trust them when those things don't all fill. That's what we're going to do. Trust Him. And that's what we do. And praise God for His glory and His love for us.

Supplied in Jesus Christ. Amen. There is the music. May the Lord bless you. And by His grace, we'll be back on here tomorrow.

And we'll talk to you then. Have a good one, everyone. God bless. Another program powered by the Truth Network.
