When you have questions about Bible doctrines, turn to Matt Slick Live for answers, taking your calls and responding to your questions at 877-207-2276. Here's Matt Slick.

Hey everybody, welcome to the show. It's me, Matt Slick, and you're listening to Matt Slick Live. If you want to give me a call, as usual, all you got to do is dial 8772072276. And we can get to you. You can also send an email info at carm.org info at carm.org.

and put the subject line radio comments or radio question. And we can get to it.

Alright, now there's an article I've been working on, and I'm about to release it here in another hour or two. We'll talk about that maybe, but... Let's get to Jermaine from California. Jermaine, brother. Welcome, Matt.

You're on here. Hey, Matt, I um I wanted to ask you about disqualification for our preachers There there is a Pastor out in I think New Orleans area. I don't know if you're familiar with uh Tony Spell. No. Uh he's okay.

Yeah, he's one of those didn't shut down his church during COVID and kind of controversial, a little charismatic, but A man and him had been getting into an argument. He ran. across the highway and of course, the cameras were rolling and He basically laid a beat down on this person who had been threatening members of the congregation. And he says that the man threatened to sexually assault his wife, children and other members of the church and things just really escalated. a type of situation that would disqualify a pastor from preaching Um you know, necessarily 'cause He lost his cool, but he He hadn't done that before.

So I just wanted to hear what you had to say about it. At the worst, I think he might need to come under discipline at the very worst. At the very best, I'd probably buy him dinner. Um You know, I think that Christians, a lot of times, they are way too passive. And I'm not advocating violence, but the idea here is that he was threatening his family, his wife, to do evil things in the congregation.

You know, I think that in hindsight, the best thing to do probably would have to call the police to do various things. But I don't know the context. I don't know everything. And so. Uh You know, what do you do?

You know, uh I remember once that um That uh I received a threat on my family. And it was so vile. It was so evil. I would have attacked that person in the room if the person had said it. I just would have.

And right or wrong, I would have. It was heinous. And is that right?

Well, you know, in the Old Testament, they took things out on people. And Jesus overturned temple tables and called people whitewashed sepulchres, your father, the devil. And uh you know we are told on the other hand to turn the other cheek. And uh but this means in an escalation. We don't have to return violence.

And then there's the issue of do we have the right of protecting ourselves? Yes, we do. Do we have the obligation of protecting others? And yes, we do. And so That's where it comes into play.

You know, if we're to look at his circumstances, an interview, what are the circumstances? What this, what that, what everything. Was he justified in being preemptive It was his motivation to stop further harm. or harm to be carried out, and he did that. I would say that's acceptable.

If, however, he just lost his cool, and just blew it in that. then I wouldn't say he's disqualified as a pastor. I'd say he like I said, needs to come under church discipline, maybe, depending on the circumstances, what was coming on, and go through some counseling and things like that. But on the other hand, I can certainly understand. And after a while, you just get tired.

and it's time to step down or or step up and and Do what you got to do. But is that the right circumstance? I don't know. You know, it's a hard one.

Okay, I think that's fair. And this sounds like it's been an ongoing thing and maybe the person who was on the receiving end, made know some law enforcement, so he was getting away with some very heinous threats and racial threats and everything else. And it sounds like it just kind of came to a head. But Yes, in my flesh, I was very impressed with his wrestling technique. I was like, whoa, he's really doing this then Yeah.

I had a hard time really trying to find a reason for him not to preach again, I think he should definitely, you know, give a lesson to youngsters about Maybe you're losing your coal, but I Some of the threats that what I heard, I I understand how somebody could could go there and You know, it it wasn't Like it was, uh, you know, he was being stabbed to death or anything. It was just the fight, the other person lost, and And that was that.

So Yeah, that's what it appears to be. I I saw that and it appears to be he lost control. And the Bible says that you ought to be known to be under much anger. If you blow it once. I mean, come on, we're we're human.

How much is it is someone going to take? And we don't know what was, you know, I don't know the circumstances. That's one thing I've learned. Always wait for all the facts. Don't judge.

based on race, Or uh of what appears to be a video showing something. Uh always look What are the circumstances? What was being said? What was being done? How long was it going on?

And consider everything. I learned that years ago. You should always wait, always wait for for a judgment. But um Yeah, it's a tough one. And so My flesh goes, Yeah, get 'em.

But on the other hand, was it the right thing to do? I I can't say yes or no. But yeah. It's a tough one.

Okay. According to him, he just laid hands on the sick and I guess he healed him or something.

So he's happening here. Let's look at the negative and the positive. The negative is it can potentially bring reproach upon the name of Christ. We're told never to return, necessarily return violence for violence. That's not our obligation.

But the Bible does talk about defending the helpless.

Now, that's the closest we can talk about the situation. You and I, if we were hanging out together and we're at a store, we see some guy beating up on somebody, it looks pretty unfair, whatever it is, we're going to stop him.

Okay, we're going to step in. And that's how it should be. And so we have that obligation. But if someone were to start cussing out you and me for our faith, they overheard us talking about the Lord, we could just sit there and take it. And we're not obligated to defend ourselves.

And if physically start to assault us, we have the obligation, or the no, not the obligation, but we have the right of self-defense, but not the obligation of self-defense. You know, you might just run or whatever it is. And these are the two main things that I've studied about theology. Yeah. Christians are not to be simply uh white uh Just So passive that nothing happens.

They are to defend themselves. Or they certainly can, and defend others. And they have an obligation to do the defense of others.

So, what was happening there? Was he just enraged? And so it was just sin? Or was he motivated to stop this guy and his threats of his congregation and his family? Because you said he s he said the guy was threatening his family, right?

Is that that part of it? Yes, I'm being discreet on here, but Fred and Vile acts on his wife, children and the other minorities and et cetera.

So Yeah, well if that was the case, and he was saying that and and uh doing that, um I'm fifty fifty in wh whether he should have done something or not, but I wouldn't condemn. You know, I mean, I'm sorry. You threaten the family, threaten the children. Gloves are off. You know?

kind of thing. That's my attitude. Right or wrong.

Okay, so Yep, I ag I agree. I take him out to dinner and politely chastise him and tell him move on, so But yeah, I appreciate that, man. I appreciate your honesty and You know, I think uh I I think Christian should learn more about you know what we can and cannot do to actually defend ourselves in in various methods and whatnot.

So Right. you know, along those lines, I've taken years of martial arts, different styles and I'm thinking about doing some more, even as I approach seventy. It's good exercise. But also, it's for the self-confidence and it's for the ability, hopefully, to help. Others, and I've seen so many videos where somebody will step in and stop something violent happening to somebody else.

And that's the that that's the glory of the Lord for that. But this guy, it sounds to me He just kind of blew it. But I don't blame them, you know? Yeah. Yeah.

All right. All right. Well, thanks, Matt. Appreciate you as usual and I look forward to the next call. All right, brother.

God bless Jermaine. God bless. All right. Well, there he goes. And it's a tough topic, folks, and I don't advocate violence.

Um But You know, having been bullied when I grew up and all that kind of stuff, I learned that you have to stop. the bullying some at some point. You gotta step up and you gotta stop it. And what that entails, you know, it's it's easy for us to point fingers. But You know, Jesus said in Luke 22:36, He said to the disciples, You have a sword?

They said, No, you have two cloaks. And He said, Sell a cloak and buy a sword. Luke 22:36, Jesus said that. And most theologians uh believe the ones that I've I've researched. uh that it was for the purpose of self-defense.

We have to understand that the gospel and the truth of the gospel is going to go out. And um People are gonna hate it. In fact, I've been threatened with death. by Satanists and I've been swatted. I've been pursued in vehicles.

and uh threatened with legal action. I've been told that uh they're gonna find me, etcetera, etcetera. And so um You know, I'm prepped. to be able to defend myself. And that's it.

I never want to hurt anybody. Don't want to be an aggressor to anything, but would step up if need. needed to and to to do what would be needed to be done. That's the idea, even if it means risking ourselves. We have to do that, especially as as Christian men.

We don't want to become too passive, so much so that we get walked on. And the kingdom of God is insulted? And nothing is ever done about it.

Now, this is a tough topic. Because the Bible does talk about resist evil with good. And I agree. But There are times when it becomes prudent. to stop an aggression.

And the question then is: when is it appropriate? Uh To stop aggression and to what degree? As I've said before on the air, we have a missionary we support in Nigeria. And the Bible says, don't take vengeance. That means don't go out and look for somebody to get revenge on them.

Don't do that. But what do you do if you find out, for example, that a day in the future at a certain time, in a certain location, the Muslims are going to attack the Christian village, which is what they've been doing in Nigeria for years? With hardly any uproar from the world. And the Muslims, religion of peace, crap, except religion, Muslim. Anyway.

Going in and killing people. Would it be appropriate then to preemptively attack them to stop? people being injured. And this would be initiating an aggression. to stop aggression.

These are the kind of questions that Christians need to think about. And as a whole, the Christian Church needs to come. to conclusions about what to do. and have wisdom about it. Because if we continue to absolutely lay down and do nothing.

Then the the enemy will continue destroy us.

Now what does Jesus say? Make disciples. and make it disciples. It can be difficult, and we're out of time. May the Lord bless you.

Be right back after these messages, please. Stay tuned. It's Matt Slick Live, taking your calls at 877-207-2276. Here's Matt Slick. All right, welcome back to the show.

If you want to give me a call, you can. 877-2072276. Let's get the busman from Dayton. Ohio. Welcome, brother.

You're on the air. Hey, Matt. The Nephilim in Genesis six. What's the biblical answer? I hear that it's real.

No, we're taking it the wrong way. Did the sons of God really have relations with the daughters of men and produce giants? That's that's what I believe. But there's two other views, one's called the Sethite view and one's called the tyrant view.

So the Sethite view is that the mighty men of stature were the descendants of Seth, and the tyrant view is that they were mighty controllers with great power who were oppressive and took what they wanted. And then there's the view that they are the fallen angels who had relations with women and produced offspring.

So it's the latter one that I hold to for biblical reasons. Why do you hold to that one, Matt, over the other two? Because in Genesis 6:9, it says Noah was perfect in all his generations. It's talking about his ancestry line. And this then gets into the issue of the biological.

And so the the fallen angel view is a biological view. That they were there to thwart this attempt. The breeding program was to thwart the arrival of the Messiah ultimately by diluting the Messianic line.

So God wiped them out. there's that view. And also when you go to Daniel two forty three, we're talking about the statue of Nebuchadnezzar, where these the different elements that are mentioned are different time periods and kingdoms. And the last one, the feet and the clay, the feet of clay mixed with iron, seems to be the Roman Empire, etc., etc., and the rebuilt Roman Empire. Debates about it.

But anyway. It says in verse 43 that they will combine with one another in the seed of man, but they will not adhere to one another.

So, this is interesting because the they can't be people. They will combine with one another in the seat of men. And so the implication seems to be that no, they're not humans because of the they. And then when you go to Matthew 24, Luke 17, as it was in the days of Noah, so it'll again be in the days of the coming of the Son of Man.

So the days of the coming of the Son of Man are related to the Nebuchadnezzar statue in the last days.

So we could make the case. that the fallen angels uh had relations with w women and produced offspring. This is the view that was held by the Jews unanimously and then held by the early Christian church until uh it became ridiculed and then the Seph Sephite view was um instituted or proposed.

So that's uh that's the reason behind it for me, okay.

Okay. Now, around where I live in Ohio, Matt. We have uh mounds. Yeah. structures that are covered with grass and soil.

But we we are told, at least I was taught in uh History class. That these are builds made by Native Americans, the Indians that settled in this area of Ohio.

Now, there's a different view now. claiming that these could very well be burial grounds for the remains of quote unquote giants And humans that are you know, excessively large in statue height. You being one of those fun guys like me that look in on stuff like this, what say you about that? Is it possible? that there are remains If your theory is is the correct one.

Could there still be remains, Matt? buried all across the globe. And have you heard any information on some of those theories? like what I just described.

Well, I haven't heard anything about this stuff, the mounds there in Ohio where you live.

So, I don't know, I couldn't tell you what those are. I just haven't researched them, so, no comment on that. I've heard anecdotal accounts of large bones, human bones, being found in numerous places around the world, which fits the giants. Uh issue because uh Nephilim, I forgot where it comes into Latin or something gigantis. Oh, translated.

I forgot what it is. At any rate, there's some evidence for that.

So, other than I couldn't tell you. I couldn't tell you well about those things, even though I think they're interesting.

Okay, I just want to know. First, I always like to start with the Bible, Matt. You're one of my go-to guys. For getting what does the Bible say, but what does the Bible say, Bossman, before we start going. you know, all over the map.

And that's why I wanted to call you.

So I appreciate that. What was the name of the three theories on that? Again, Matt, if you wouldn't mind, sir? Yeah, it's on my article, What are the Nephilim on Karm? The three views are the fallen angel view, the tyrant view, and the shethite view.

View. Fallen angels will you know And then this is the case. It's on carm. Yep.

Okay. All right? Excellent. That's all I got for you, Matt. I appreciate you so much, sir.

All right, brother. God bless. Okay. God bless. Okay.

All right, now next longest waiting person is Bill from North Carolina. Bill, welcome. You're on the air. Mm-hmm. Hello everyone, how you doing?

Doing all right. Hanging in there, man. What do you got, buddy? I need the education.

Okay. My wife and I, we've been married almost forty-four years. Ah, congratulations. And thank you. I've been very happy.

And when my mother died, Five years ago we inherited our house. And she always said she heard voices and stuff like that in the house.

Okay. And since since we've been there, I've seen things and One of the disappeared in Real figure and I I mean, the other day I was in my my workshop and my toolbox opened up and closed by itself and stuff like that.

Okay. And I just wonder, is that something I need to be concerned with a whole lot or? 'Cause she and I were Well I haven't issues now we never used to have before.

Okay. Are are you a Christian? We w we before I can We're both married in a Moravian church. We've been moraging all our life. We're very deep in the face.

Okay. So can I ask what church you go to? Can I ask what church you go to? I mean, is it Eastern Orthodox, Catholic? No.

Or what? It's a serrate. What kind is it? The Moravian church. Moravian.

Moravian. She was still prevalent on the east coast of Africa. Mm-hmm. Okay. The reason I'm asking.

Okay. Yeah, I don't know what it is. It seems to be Protest. I'm looking it up right now. Good, good, good, good.

I'm looking at what it says, so good, good stuff there. Uh Good. All right. Okay. So, here's the things.

Uh you have elders at your church, you should contact the elders of your church. And you should tell me what's going on. Let me interrupt you, my wife. and I are both on the board of churches. Y you what?

I'm I'm on the board and she's on the board as well. She are you an elder? I'm not mad.

So, um You need to contact the elders of your church.

Alright. You d tell them uh what's ex what's happening. and they need to come over. And after the break, I'll tell you what the Need to do okay. I got a break coming up.

It's it's this is nothing I haven't uh experienced or encountered or dealt with before, and I can tell you what to do, okay. Hey folks, please hold on. We'll be right back after these messages. Then we'll get to Gil from New York. May the Lord bless you.

Be right back. It's Matt Slick Live, taking your calls at 877-207-2276. Here's Matt Slick. All right, everyone, welcome back to the show. If you want to give me a call, it is easy.

All you have to do. Is dial 877-207-2276. You can also send me an email. That's easy. Just.

Send it to info at carm.org. Info at C A R M dot O R G. And put the subject line: radio comments, radio question. All right, let's get back on here with. Bill.

Okay, Bill, are you still there, brother? Yeah. Okay. So, what do you do if you suspect the occult or demonic activity in your house? That's the issue.

So um I'm really not sure because other than the same things that Out of the corner of my eye, they disappear, stuff like that. And it never, ever, ever used to happen. Can we move them to this house? And my my mother. I love it.

She was not into anything, a cult or anything like that. I don't understand. Uh Okay, so there are basic concepts. Let me just kind of go over some stuff with you. is that these things happen, these things are real.

I'm not saying they are at your particular place 'cause I haven't been there, I don't know, but this is not uncommon. And I've heard this stuff over the years. I've seen things in the house as well. My children have seen things, you know, etc. And there are things you can do.

And one of them is you need to pray. and invoke the authority of the Lord Jesus Christ in your home. I would suggest that you read scripture out loud, pray the Word of God, pray through the Word of God in your home. You get the elders together and you ask them to come over and to pray with you through the house. and take some anointing oil, and it could be any kind of oil.

and vegetable oil, cooking, whatever it is, it doesn't matter. And you d it's a more symbolic act. And what you do is you just dip your fingertip in it a little bit, rub it so it's light, and go through the house and touch your walls, touch your doors. touch the things of your life in there. And you go through and you pray.

and you pray out loud and occasional read scripture, things like that. These are the basic things you've got to do, but you also have to look on the other side of things. If you none of this happened until you got into that house, it might be that there's an occult connection with the house. might be. might be that somebody came in and did something in between or your your mom did something or whoever, whatever, and there's an occult connection.

And the anointing and praying through the house helps to break that.

So You also need to look and to see if there's anything in the house that's left over. Because Believe it or not, there can be demonic attachments uh to objects.

Now, I'm not saying this is what's happening. I'm just saying there's a list of things you've got to go through, just a list. And if I was there in your house, I'd say, well, what was left here by your parent, your mom, or whatever. And we go through stuff. Let's say, hypothetically, there was an Ouija board there, or tarot cards.

uh you know, magic wands. We know something bad was up, we needed to get rid of those. Those are called open doors. And in the occult, in the spirit stuff, we look for doors. Open doors, things that open the door to demonic activity and things in the house.

And we want to close those doors.

So you look for potentials of occult books, objects, things that are used in the occult, drugs illicit drugs, pornography, things like this. These are just the list of things you look for. And if nothing like that's in the house. Then it could be that others are praying for you who are in the occult or in false religions like Mormonism, Jehovah's Witnesses, Islam. Catholicism, Eastern Orthodoxy, they're praying to their false gods And they're idols, and they could be inadvertently invoking occult stuff on you and your house.

These are just things to be aware of. I'm not saying this is what the case is. I'm just saying this is a gambit or a scope of things to look for.

So It's important, though, that you contact the elders. it's important that you tell them what's going on and you ask them to come over and anoint your house. and you joined them. If they refuse to do that, that would be a problem. Because they're obligated to do this kind of thing as elders to help and lead.

If they don't want to or don't think it's good, you do it. And you can certainly do it on your own. You don't have to have elders, but it just helps. And so you can go through the house and you can pray, you can do it with your wife, and you can do that kind of a thing.

So I would recommend this is what you do. And also fill your home with the issues of worship and thanksgiving, praise music, or whatever it is. Not every second of the day, but you know, have worship music on occasionally. And um And watch. Just watch for things.

Do not seek psychics or mediums or Aunt Martha who passed on earlier or Catholics or Eastern Orthodox people to intercede with you. because they're not true Christians, because those churches are false churches. And those churches invoke and promote idolatry, which are ultimately demonic forces. You need to trust God's sovereignty through all of it. And persevere through it while you're seeking.

to do what you have to do. In order to Get this to go away if it's really happening. When other possibilities, you're imagining things. And that's saying you are. I'm saying, you know, there are just possibilities.

And so we just need to be aware. And if your wife and you are suddenly having more problems, what you hadn't had before. But then this can often be the cause of demonic oppression. And so, the thing to do is exactly the things I've said. You contact the elders of your church, ask them to come over, you pray through the house, anoint the house.

put some Christian music on or whatever suits you. have Bibles out in the room. It's not like it's magic, it's just the Word of God. And you read the Word of God even out loud in the house, in different rooms. Just read it.

It's not magic. It's not anything you do it's not like this will always cause this to happen. It's just the idea of filling your house with the things of God instead of the f things of the world, okay?

Well, I would I would say maybe I did imagine some of it, but It's possible. and had to move back in with us because him and his wife screwed up. He said he he was in my workshop one day And he was there on my workbench and saw um The I draw my toolbox open. Saw what? I'm sorry.

Hold on. It went bad. The connection went bad. He saw what? He he was in my workshop.

He saw a the two map My uh. A drawer open. And then a few minutes later, it closed back by itself. Yeah, these kinds of things. These things c this is not uncommon, all right.

And um Wow, but Smell and my fan said it's just What does it smell like? An acid rotten eggs or sulphur?

Okay, dude.

Okay, you n it it's possible. That you're having an olfactory problem in your old age, it's possible that there's demonic activity there. And the more that you're talking, the more I would suggest you make sure you contact the elders. And let me give you a bit of a warning. It's not a bad thing, it's not a good thing, it's just a bit of a warning.

that if you do this and you seek to deal with the occult stuff that may or may not be happening, it can often bring a bit of an increase in it before it stops, because it's like stirring the pot a little bit. And you're praying against them, and the demonic forces, if they're real in your house in the situation, won't like that. And so, if you start seeing a little bit more activity, if that's the case, don't worry about it. You continue to pray through it, and eventually it will work. But get those elders involved.

And Ask others to be praying and see if there's anything left in the house. from the previous owner. that might be what we call a door. Uh remove and destroy any occult objects. Any items dedicated to false gods.

Like, say, there was a Marian statues. And you know, they were at her in the house. You get rid of those things, or pagan.

Alright, because they're used for Yeah, stuff like that. You need to get rid of of stuff. And um It's kind of think of it this way.

Okay, I think of it this way: out with the bad, in with the good. and get the elders involved. And if they won't do it, call me up, let me know. You know, call up that church and say, you need to be doing this. But.

You can do it on your own, okay?

Now I've done this in houses. I appreciate you taking the time to talk to me and uh maybe uh get if you get a chance, uh research my ratings a little bit. You'll you might be surprised. Yeah, it's interesting. I looked up a little bit and it seemed to be okay on uh on initial uh uh scan.

Teaches justification by faith alone in Christ alone. And uh. Good stuff.

So John Huss and Luther, And uh okay, yeah, so check it out, all right?

Okay, thank you.

Okay. Thank you for your time. All right. Okay, God bless. All right, just so you guys know, before I get to Gil, the next caller, oh, there's the break.

I was going to kind of give feedback on that call because it's interesting stuff. Hey, please stay tuned. And wow, we're already at the last segment of the hour. If you want to give me a call, the number is 87720. 7-2276.

Be right back. It's Matt Slick Live, taking a call at 877-207-2276. Here's Matt Slick. All right, welcome back to the show. Just want to let you know that we stay on the air by your support.

If you'd be so kind as to consider supporting us, we could certainly use that. All you have to do is go to carm.org forward slash donate, or just go to carm.org, c-ar-r-m dot o-r-g. At the top of the page, you will see the link for donate. We ask five, ten, fifteen dollars a month. And it helps us make budgets, and that's what we're looking for because we do need that support.

Believe it or not, we actually do. All right, let's get to Gil from New York. Gil, welcome. You're on the air. Can you hear me?

Yes, I can. I can hear you. Very well. Yes, fine. Good.

I love you. Um. I'm the blind person. I'm sleeping a little bit better, so keep on praying for me. Um I I want to share um Some scriptures in light of eternal security, if it's okay with you, I want to read them and draw to you.

Well, hold on, hold on, hold on. Are you for it or against it? Or what's your question? I'm for it.

Okay. Yeah, well, let's go. I don't want you to read a whole bunch of stuff. You're just coming on and start reading. I want to understand what's going on.

So, you have a question about external security or anything or what? Um A little bit, because there are Catholics that believe that you could lose your salvation based on Galatians 5 and stuff like that.

Okay, let's go to those. You want to go to a particular one? No, I'm sorry. Um the scriptures that I believe point to eternal security. If it's okay with you, you let me know.

Well, I I mean I understand what's uh trust me, I I can recite a lot of them, but uh I I agree with you. But let's do one at a time which verse do you think Which verse do you th which verse do you though?

Okay. I'm sorry, what? Romans chapter eight, verse one.

Okay, then what shall we say these things? If God is for us, who is against us? That's not a very good strong verse for eternal security. Because verse 1 says, Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh. But after The spirit.

Okay now hold on hold on hold on hold on hold on. No problem.

So, in Romans 8:1, I could tell you that how they would respond to that. There's no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. Right. If you're in Christ because of the work of the church and keep in your sacraments and infuse grace, then there's no condemnation. This is how they interpret stuff like this.

But if you fall away from the sacramental procedures of their church, therefore you can lose your salvation. This is what they do. Right. You know what encourages me is when I'm going through trials. And I'm trying to put my trust in the Lord no matter what's happening to me.

I like to refer back to Romans 8:28, where it says, And we know that all things work together for good. To them that love God, to them who are called according to his Purpose. Yeah. It's a good verse and um I support that. But there are, as far as eternal security goes, there are stronger verses, very strong verses you can go to.

John 3.16. John 10, 27, 28. Uh 1 John 2 19. I'm sorry, what? That you that's the sheep verses that I love.

Yeah, John ten twenty seven. Yes, he says he gives eternal life to them, they shall never perish. The relationship that Christ puts with eternal life is with never perishing. That's how he speaks of it. Yeah.

And John 5, 24, can you read that to me? Uh sure. Uh says um Mm-hmm. He who hears my word believes him who sent me has eternal life, does not come into judgment. She has passed out of life into death.

Uh-huh. Right. And um I know how they can I know their answers, I know their responses to this stuff. I know you do. You I I love you and I admire you and I when I'm having trouble sleeping at night, I think about you and About you having a good marriage, or you know, as well, that your wife passed away four years ago.

No, seven months ago. Seven months ago. Oh, seven months ago. I keep getting it wrong. That's all right.

That's all right. Yeah. Well, are you hearing me very well, right? Yes, I'm hearing you. Yes.

Oh, praise the Lord. Yes, I want you to keep praying for me 'cause I'm having a lot of medical issues and sleep issues which is improving a little bit.

Okay, well The thing to do is prayer at carm.org. You can put in prayer requests there. We tell everybody. And we have a prayer team. They lift them up in prayer.

Okay. Oh, well, I'm blind, so I don't have a computer, so I can't do it. You could have someone do that for you. But I think I know who's listening, the one who leads the prayer stuff, and she'll be glad to bring you up. You don't have to worry about it.

I'm sure she knows.

Okay. Yep, and I love how the John three hundred sixteen reads in the new international version. It says, For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, That whoever believes in him shall not perish, but have eternal life. That was a scripture that I shared. When I met my girlfriend Nancy, you know, and we dated for a few years and then she passed away.

I told you about her.

Okay, sorry about that. Yeah, it's uh Yeah, uh Different translations do it differently sometimes, and sometimes it's really informative and helpful.

Okay. Well, my girlfriend tried to end her life. She took a lot of pills and everything, but when she met me, the second day that she met me, I started witnessing to her. And she became one of my closest friends. We were in the same hospital together.

And we ate lunch, dinner, and breakfast together a lot until she went home. And God used me to Yeah, and God used me to do a service on Sunday because we have arts and crafts, and there's a man named Chris Major Was amazed at the knowledge that God has given me from the Bible.

So he asked me, Would you like to teach or take questions on the Bible?

So I was able to do that and play keyboard and everything. It was great.

Okay, well that was 2018. Yeah. Yep.

Okay. Well good.

Alright. So her life changed. You know, she has started having faith in Christ and Um her favorite verse was this one that I liked. Jeremiah 29, 11, it says, For I know the plans that I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope in a future.

Okay. Well, appreciate that. That's that's good.

Okay. Well, thank you. Appreciate that. Yeah. God bless you, and His word will work for you.

Praise the Lord. All right. God bless. Thanks. Bye-bye.

Whew. Fucking. You know, something interesting happened today. I had to go do some shopping. And uh So I went to a couple places.

And I'm on one side of in Idaho, the Boise area. I'm on the one side. And I have friends I've known for many years on the other side of town. And I'm sitting there checking out, and one of my friends from the other side of the town walked right by me, and we got talking and um it was nice. We talked about my wife passing and and stuff.

And I said, What are you doing over here? He had some special thing he was doing. Just a coincidence. I like those coincidences. But look, We do need your support, ladies and gentlemen.

Please consider supporting us. It's easy to do. Let me tell you why it's helpful. We don't have any callers waiting right now. We um We have this website, carm.org, and it's had.

uh oh over a hundred million visitors easily. And our stats show 92 million returning visitors. And we have missionaries in South America, one in Bogotá, Colombia, and one near São Paulo in Brazil. We have a missionary in Malawi and a missionary in Nigeria. And so we support them and we pay for them their salaries and support.

And I just did that yesterday, as a matter of fact. And so that put us down because I try and pay them in advance because it's easier in the long run to pay them larger sums larger sums, wow, larger sums of money. Because each time you do this, you send stuff overseas, there are these charges to do that. And plus, they only have to go to the bank once. Every two or three months, which can be a journey for them sometimes, rather than once every month with additional costs.

We try and be more efficient with the Lord's money by paying two or three months in advance, and I can only do two months in advance. Two of them, well, one of them made the comment that they can't make their rent anymore, stuff like this. This is a guy I've known for 17 years, and he's never, ever asked for anything unless he's absolutely needed it. And I've had to ask him many times, How are you doing financially? And only then he would tell me.

So when he volunteered it, Uh I knew that he was really being um You know, he didn't want to do that, but he had to. And so we had to give I helped him out a little bit extra. We're going to be raising his salary. It's only a couple hundred dollars more a month. But you know, for him, it could make a big difference in Colombia.

And I helped out our guy in Brazil too. And what he does, he spends a lot of his free time working at an orphanage. And they had a support for the orphanage, but it's all fallen through. And so they're just trusting God for whatever they can find and getting shoes for the orphans. And then he's pastoring at a small, small church, but not really getting much out of that.

So we support him as well. He does the Portuguese version of the Carm site. And our guy in Colombia does the Spanish version of the Carm site. And what we want to do is get those sites converted over to the new system we've got Carm on. But it would cost $10,000 or $15,000.

And we just don't have the money for that. We also want to convert the schools over to the new system. And that would cost 15 grand right there. That's the estimate to God. We just don't have the money for that kind of thing.

And so we just trust God. And We barely make it each month, but that's only because we have people who occasionally will they've told me let them know if and when they get really low. And I do, and then they kind of help out. And so being very generic about that. And that's the only reason we're keeping our heads above water.

So if you like this ministry, like the radio show, which costs a lot of money on a monthly basis, please consider supporting us. We don't ask much. And this is not a threat. It's not a woe is me. I'm not trying to guilt whip anybody.

None of that stupidity. You should tithe your church first. And if you do that, praise God. If you want to do a little bit extra and help us out, We ask five, ten, or fifteen dollars a month. That would be wonderful.

And you can go into carm.org forward slash donate or the top of the page at carm.org is the donate link. And you can set it up. It's really easy to do. And you can also go back in and change it later. undo it and and stuff.

And you know, five bucks isn't a m a lot, and ten dollars or fifteen dollars isn't a much much. But when enough people do that, it really adds up. And what we've been trying to do is just get a thousand people at ten dollars a month.

Now that's ten grand. That would cover everything we'd actually be able to keep our head above water without having to worry about stuff. And that's what we're just asking for.

So not much. And maybe from all the listeners and the viewers, we would ask for that support, just letting you know. There you go. You see, not a big deal. And I'm not worried because God provides.

I've got so many stories of how He's provided over the years. I mean, I smile when I think about them. At first it was unnerving. But now I've gone I've grown to trust in him. I hope you have too.

You know, we've got to go through trials and tribulations sometimes to see the hand of the Lord working. He changes us as well as the circumstances that we're in. And a lot of times, you know, he just comes at the last minute and he just comes to the rescue.

So I'm always thankful when God does.

Sometimes I stress. But less and less because, well, he looked back on the history of his provision. And you can have more and more confidence in them. That's what it means to have our faith perfected through our trials. Hey, there you go.

The music's going to start, and I hope the Lord blesses you. And by his grace, we'll be back on the air tomorrow. And we, the Lord willing, will talk to you then. Have a great evening, everyone. God bless.
