All right. Hope you're all having a good time, a good day, and no radio on Monday, Memorial Day.
So I'll be back on the air live on Tuesday. They'll put a rerun up. whatever it is I'm gonna do. But uh it'll be Monday. And um And there you go.
Yeah.
So I got a friend who just flew in. He's downstairs, and he's Trevor Rubens. He goes around different parts of the country, and he speaks on Judaism and does Seders and things like that and interesting stuff. He was downstairs telling me about stuff. I'm always learning from him.
He talked about Jewish things I didn't even know about in the Bible. I'm like, oh, that's right, good. And so, enjoying that. And we have nobody waiting on this lovely, let's see, May 22nd, 2026. If you want to give me a call, you can.
8772072276. And yesterday, I spent a lot of time. Going through teaching out of a single verse, Colossians 2:14. There are a few verses where I can do that, where I can just teach for a long time on them because of how much is in them and the related information that they bring out. And so that was one of them.
Another one is Romans 5:18. And believe it or not, John 3:16. There's some stuff in there a lot of people don't know. But I enjoy being able to teach the Word of God and study the Word of God. In fact, I've been working on an article today.
And it's not finished yet, and it's one of the most difficult articles I've had to write. not because oh, it's bad, it's sad. No, difficult in that I'm trying to understand an argument. by a guy named Wagner. And the article title is The Non-Inherance of Accidents in Transinstantiation.
And so I'm uh answering it. And I'll tell you, this is one of the more difficult articles I've had to read and understand. Because I've counted fourteen. 14 phrases he uses in this about a 500-word defense of transubstantiation. 14 words that.
I'm like, what does he mean by this?
Now, a couple of them I know, you know, like the word essence and substance and accident, but actual inherence, actual properties, aptitude to inhere, connatural state. essential note, flowing property, highest genus, metaphysical necessity, uh physical necessity, quantity, and and uh quantity deals in an Aristotelian sense. And I had to learn these things.
So, it's taken me a while just to pick up on the vocabulary. And then. And this was hard. I had to do a breakdown of his argument. And represent it as accurately as I could in ten steps.
And then. No evermore. Then refuting the argument and And I think I pretty much refuted it. But And then I'll work in the very, very, very last paragraph, which uh which I'll get to later. And stuff.
So, for me, it's kind of enjoyable. For me, I like being able to. Um analyze stuff like this. It's really nice. I'm in a very great, very nice part of my life for working all those years.
I mean, I'm 69. And um Having worked for so many years, and you know, Social Security is coming in and getting paid out of the ministry, I'm able to. to pay the bills and study. and do radio. And get on TikTok and YouTube and Facebook and different places and do videos and teach.
So I go on to Discord, I go in different places, and you know, it's another nice thing is being able to walk around the block. I have a one-mile circuit, it's exactly one-mile. And I just every time I walk around, that's one mile. It takes about twenty minutes. And I'll put on a headset and it attaches to my phone.
I'll go into chat rooms and I'm do uh debating, teaching, arguing, answering questions, sometimes just listening. As I'm walking around the block, and we'll walk two to three, four miles, depending. One time I did eight miles, eight miles just while I'm talking, answering questions. And, you know, what a pleasure it is. Anyway, so I'm thankful for the opportunity to serve my Lord and my Savior Jesus Christ.
And you know, for a lot of us For a lot of us, we have to really think about this. We get so used to being Christian. I guess so accustomed to Is what it means to every day.
Well, yeah, Jesus, you know, we're Christian. But every now and then it kinda hits me. uh of what I'm saved from. And I'm so thankful. that he saved me out of the Wow.
The swamp. of my filth. that I was so happily abiding in. And I remember back in my days of youth. the sins that I would participate in.
He was just living in different parts of the same swamp. And in some areas it was really stinky bad, in others it was d just decaying filth. And uh and occasional places where you know, I would rest. And uh Abide in that. that filth that Jesus has saved me out of.
And I'm so grateful for that.
So grateful that he's opened my heart, opened my mind, to be able to understand.
Now not claiming I have all understanding, of course. But what a privilege it is. And um In the Bible study last night, we're talking about this a little bit. And I said That uh Imagine Uh imagine the Lord over there too, you know. to our left a little bit, he's o over there, a few hundred feet.
and the the bright light of his presence. and we're over here. And that what we do, we pray, we ask God. We ask God to Oh, please uh help us with this or help us with that. And what we do is we keep our distance so many times.
From that bright light, because the closer we get to it, the more it shines into our hearts and our souls and exposes us to ourselves. That can be unpleasant. Plus it's work. It's hard to stay there. because there's so much of what he does To us in his presence, the closer we get to him.
the more we have to deal with in ourselves. And that's hard. But some that all do, you know, we're Where uh The brightness is there, but the shadows exist all the more where we are. We ask God to help us and to answer prayers. and a lot of times our prayers aren't answered.
I have been thinking about this recently. And it occurs to me that If I want my prayers answered, That what I need to do is get close to it to that light as possible. Close I can to him.
So that the light of his truth illumines my paths. and my will outside of that light. is gone and I'm now I'm moving forward with him. And the light of his presence and his truth is illuminating, so that my prayers then are shaped by that. The prayers shaped by the light of His presence, and His will.
Not my own. That's what we so often do. is we want to live on our own, work on our own. We want to Be spiritual on our own while While occasionally, um getting close to God as we can in our prayers and Bible study reading. And we want God to come to where we are and help us where we are.
And my attitude about that is starting to change. And Yeah.
So I'm thinking. Instead of him coming to where I am in my problems, I want to go to where he is. in his path. in his work. And in order to do that, I'm going to have to relinquish so much.
And To me, maybe to you it'd be different, but to me. It would be relinquishing a little bit more private time. I like to have my alone time. and just do what I feel like doing and maybe Maybe in that. It might mean spending time in prayer.
and in reading the Word and fellowship with other believers. moving in closer to him and the presence of what he has and what he's done. means a change in life to some degree. And to be honest, I find that a little bit more uncomfortable than I thought I would. But isn't it worth it?
to become more um more aware of his presence and to get closer to him by drawing closer.
So that the delight of His truth and His will overshadows the us. and that we can then see clearly and know what to pray for.
so that her prayers are more frequently answered. This is what I've been thinking about. And so um I'm reminded of George Mueller. He's my hero. He died in 1898 or something like that.
He's called The Orphan King, and he had this, and I'd recommend his book. Answers to Prayer by George Muller. It's an extraction of his diary. And He was a I I saw a picture of him. And he's probably a 98-pound weakling.
Um And man he was just a giant. And he would pray. And he he said something in the book that I've never been able to forget. And he said, and what he does would do is prey in the presence of God. waiting for God's will to be revealed to him.
And he would pray, and months would go by. Long periods would go by. and then suddenly an impression or something might come up. and he would pray about it and pray about it and pray about it. Is this from you or is it from me?
If it's from you, Lord, let it increase. If it's from me, let it decrease. John 3.30. And so when he knew that it was from the Lord, because it increased and it was godly, it was according to Scripture. Then he would Engage others to pray with him about it.
Only after that he would do that, even like pray with them. And then only after that. Would He then said okay, and he waited for the confirmation of the word. The scripture. before he would act.
And then, when he got the confirmation, and the way he described it as reading through God's Word, in the presence of His Word, something would illumine into His mind and His heart. This is what God is saying to me. And he was then confirmed by the word, to move forward. And then he didn't worry any more. Because it wasn't his problem, it was God's.
It wasn't his work, it was God's. It wasn't his concern, it was God's. And so he opened up an orphanage in this way. And the miracles that happened, as God provided, are worth reading. in this true account by George Muller.
In the book Answers to Prayer. It's a short book, it's not very long. And The the truth that he's given. keep echoing in my mind.
Now that I'm a widower, I have more time. How much of that am I going to be spending? simply seeking him.
so they can draw into his presence. And this is a question you can ask yourself. Are you seeking that very presence? of God Himself. You know, it was David who said, There's one thing I've asked of the Lord, and it may dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
and God called him a man after his own heart. that we're to dwell in the house of God and seek Him, It's not the money, it's not the cars, it's not the family. That's priority. It's him. We should be seeking God Himself.
He is the greatest. He's the perfect one. We need to be in his presence. We should be seeking him. There's the music we write back after these messages.
Please stay tuned. It's Matt Slick Live, taking a call at 877-207-2276. Here's Matt Slick. All right, and welcome back to the show. If you want to give me a call, it's easy.
877-207-2276. And let's get to Jermaine from California. Jermaine, brother, welcome. You're on the air. Hey, Maddie, I actually wanted to discuss Psalm 46, verse 10, with you.
Okay. Be still and know that I am God. Can you give maybe an interpretation of what be still means? Yeah, to cease striving, to relax, not to worry. The context of that psalm is of earthquakes and things.
And nation upheavals and things like that, and that around us there can be all kinds of tumult. There can be problems. It starts off: God is our refuge. He's a pro. Present help in trouble.
And he says though the earth should change, the mountains slip into the sea, the waters roar, the mountains quake.
So he's talking about major events. And so there are, as he goes into verse 6, nations are in an uproar, kingdoms tottered.
So he's talking about the tumult. T U M U L T Tumult. that is around us. almost catastrophic stuff. Uh that is happening.
and that in it and through it we are to trust him.
So he says here safe, cease striving. In other words, Relax and know that I'm God. Be still. as most of the translations state. Say, you know, I'm God.
Don't worry. I'm here. And then he says, I'll be exalted among the nations of exalting the earth. The Lord of hosts is with us. etc.
So that's what it is. It's a psalm of comfort. Through difficulties, and it's a very nice psalm in light of that.
Okay, well maybe um I can have you kinda critique how I interpret it. a lot of that.
So I for years I had kind of took that to mean kind of focus and be quiet because there's times where I allowed myself to get way too distracted with with outside influences and where all the technology or Just not giving God proper time. But I've I've always noticed that the best Times I've had that the answers to prayer really come when I kind of shut everything out and have my my quiet time with God, even if it's just 15 minutes. And I've had amazing what I believe answers to prayer, just like the situation with my wife and other stuff that's nearly impossible and and You know, I guess it's divinely inspired. You mentioned George Mueller. I actually.
I read his autobiography three times, right? It was the audiobook version. Um I have to keep going back to it over the years because it radically transformed my prayer life. Yeah.
It was one of the key. you know that in EM Bounds And at times I've had to remind myself, like, hey. And there's times where I looked at the book playing, and I said, Come on now, this couldn't have happened. And I tried it. And if I tried just literally believing God.
down to the letter of whatever I needed and It was always provided. If it was his will, it was always provided no matter what. But I noticed that. my best prayer times came when even in times of trouble where I was so just so engrossed in whatever I was going through I didn't want any outside. I didn't care about television.
I didn't care about Music I literally would sit there and meditate on the word and pray, and I would feel comforted, and I have no clue When the answer to prayer was coming, I've learned to kind of don't be anxious, but I. There was a feeling where I knew, okay, God's answering, I just don't know how. things will happen where even atheist friends are like, I don't know how you're doing this.
So That that's how I interpret it be still. I don't know if that was Correct or not. Yeah, it works. Yeah, I think though the I think it's okay. A lot of times what people will do, I'm not saying you're doing this, but I'm saying a lot of times what people will do, they'll take a single verse.
out of a psalm out of the Old Testament, and they'll misapply it. And the quietness that it says, cease striving in the NASB, be still and know that I am God. Be still and be and cease, in the context of Psalm 46. God is the unshakable refuge of his people, even if the earth falls apart. He does not move.
He's the one that you can trust. And that's why he's saying be still and know. And so when you're talking about these quiet times of getting into prayer and that fellowship. with him and that you have a peace. That's what that is.
Because well, you know, though the earth is still here and earthquakes aren't occurring, we have these problems around us all the time in our own lives, as you have exemplified. And so we have to deal with those and we keep our eyes on the Lord, God Christ, during that. And in it, that's what it is. Stop worrying, stop striving, stop being so anxious. Just rest in Him.
And there's something about that. There's something about the Uh I call it phasing. To purposely faith, to purposely have faith, and exercise a content trust in him. Just have faith. and just trust him for him.
And when you do that, you can rest, you can cease striving, you can be still in your heart. and and trust and that's what kind of thing you're talking to.
Okay. So that particular verse And I may be taking that I don't know, maybe it's a related context, but by almost by proxy, I'm doing what I'm supposed to be doing anyway. Right. Easy book. There you are.
Okay, add that mouse to it. All right. Well, appreciate it, man. Have a good weekend and uh Yeah, I um highly recommend people check out the audiobook version of George Mueller it really is mind blowing stuff and someone who lived his life Just striving for God, but didn't say anything to anyone about it. That's actually what made me.
A believer. Yeah.
Good. All right, brother. All right, man. Have a good weekend. God bless you.
Okay, you too, man. God bless. All right. Okay, let's get to. Let's see who dropped him and go to Jim from Virginia.
Jim, welcome. You're on the air. Oh, good evening. How are you? I'm doing all right.
I'm doing all right. How are you doing? Pretty good. Thank you. Better than I deserve.
I know that one. Great. Yeah.
My question is I've heard so much lately about some pastors or people speaking and using uh like I declare or I decree And then go on and on and on. Uh I I just wonder What you thought about that when they say things like that. Yeah, they need to. They they need to shut up. They need to be be rebuked.
Yeah.
I decree, I declare, go away. You don't decree or declare anything. the foolishness of such idiocy and pride. It's uh an unfalsifiable performance before people. self-exaltation these men strut around.
the language of decree belongs to God alone. And a pastor borrowing that and saying such things is offering a performance and self-exaltation. And such so-called pastors need to be defrocked and removed from the pulpit and get someone in there who can preach the word of God in humility and say, God has decreed, God has sent, not me. Yeah, the f the fools uh speak like this.
Okay, yeah. Yeah, I've just uh seen like pastor's uncertain. Shows that are hidden. Can you hold on? We've got a break.
We've got a break coming up. There's a music going to hold on. We can talk a little bit more after the break. All right, Rudder?
Okay, Jim.
Okay. Hey folks, we'll be right back. We have three open lines. You want to give me a call? 877-207-2276.
We'll be right back. It's Matt Slick Live, taking your calls at 877-207-2276. Here's Matt Slick. Alright everybody, welcome back to the show. We're having stupid fun in the uh In the chat, we're talking about country western music.
Someone said, I don't like it, which I don't. I don't like country western music, and I was insulting it different ways. I know people like it, that's okay, but we're just doing various things. And he said, Um. It's almost if I play guitar.
And I said, I used to play guitar, which is true, but sadly, my voice is even worse than country western music. That's why there's a law in Idaho that forbids me to sing even in the shower.
So uh we're just having stupid fun in the chat if you want to get in there and uh throw your two cents in. You can go to uh Rumble, rumble.com. And just type in Matt Slick Live, and you'll find the stuff we have a live show today. Let's go back to Jim from Virginia. Jim.
All right, brother, you're back on. Yeah.
Okay, okay.
So you've been hearing this this stupidity, huh? Yeah.
Yeah, yeah, I've been here a lot, and I just something triggered in my, you know, my thinking thing. I don't know about this, and I just needed to. to talk to you and see what you thought about it. Biblically, when people are speaking, when they're in the presence of God, they don't boast, they don't do anything like this. When people speak from God, usually the movement of the Spirit upon them and in them brings them to humility.
When the fools get up in front of thousands and start saying, I decree, I declare, I this, look at me, etc., these are These are, let's say, waves without foam or foam without waves. In Jude, it talks about this. I'm not saying they're not Christians. I can't judge their souls, but I'll tell you. It sure is upsetting to see this kind of foolishness being promoted.
Here we go. Let's see. their feet let sea clouds without water, carried along by winds, autumn trees without fruit, doubly dead, uprooted, wild waves of the sea, casting up their own shame like foam. Etc., the black darkness.
So this is a strong language against people like that. But Strong language needs to be Offered by strong men who believe in the strength of God's Word. And the fact is that not enough people are denouncing the heresies and the false teaching that's going along. It's so prevalent in so many Protestant circles. We need to get back to proper biblical theology.
And so I just use this as a springboard to say, You have to find a Bible theology, everybody. You need to find something preaching, teaching. That where God is the greatest, God is the center, the Lord Jesus Christ is the one you seek, the Bible's about Him, and you seek the will of God, and that you're humble before Him in all areas. And that you have to understand that He granted you faith. He grants you the mercy.
He grants that you believe. He grants you come to Christ. And that you don't have any right to say, I decree this and I decree that. This is opposite of what God has done. We need to get back to good biblical theology and not the filth that is being taught from so many pulpits across America.
Okay? Amen, amen.
Well Thank you for clarifying that for me. Good. I appreciate it, Matt. Thank you very much. You're welcome very much.
May the Lord bless you.
Okay. Amen. You too. God bless you.
God bless. All right, well, we have nobody waiting right now on the line. If you want to give me a call, you can 877-207. 2276. Let me just get into some of the questions that have come in.
Let's see. I'm just going to go into some of the emails. Let's see, how about oh, that's not gonna happen that one The question I'll get to that one. Oh come on, let's see.
Okay, well I could read that's too much to read to get to that answer. Um While looking up sermons on YouTube, I ran across a pastor Okay, who caught my eye? with some outlandish video titles. Oh boy, I'm already liking this email. Watching his teachings made me wonder if his teachings are full of flaws.
He presents himself as extremely knowledgeable. And competent, etc., because he constantly references the Bible as teachings appears very academic. I'm not a Bible scholar and I'm scanning through. if indeed he has got false teaching. He has over 190,000 followers.
Oh man. You know Look, folks. Let me just tell you. Right there, he gives the name of the person, and I don't want to say the name of the person, but I want to jump in on that. I want to just go into that.
But Here's what you can pray about that would enable me to do these kinds of things. We need a lot of help. There's so many things that I have to do to maintain the site, maintain the stuff that's on the circumference of. Of the substance of the car ministry, that very often I just can't get to articles, I can't get to stuff, I can't get to research projects. which is what I believe I'm gifted to do.
And so, hey, uh pray. I'm just going to ask this: pray that enough money comes in that we can hire somebody, a gopher. Who can just do all kinds of things and work with the staff that will just run and oversee a lot of things? They have to be someone who is talented and able and adaptive and can learn because there's just so many things. It's like a replacement of me in a lot of areas, except with a lot more confidence, okay?
Because I've got thousands of emails to get to. I have. I have Excel spreadsheets I have to update. I have bank accounts I have to go in and make sure of. I have meetings I have to be in.
And writing articles and videos and editing, and we're trying to get people to help. But I wish we had the money to just hire people and to say, this is what we need, this is the job.
So that I can get be free to say, Okay, I'm going to tackle this guy. Give me three days of research on him and I'll do it. I'll write him a new video and uh and stuff. There's just a lot to do. And it's not a whining, I'm just saying, Man, oh man.
There's just so much to do. And so I'm privileged to be able to do it, but I could use a lot of help. And we have a lot of help. We have. We have good people like in the Friday morning staff meeting, we have good people, but Even they understand that if you email me don't expect me to To respond, it just kind of understood email.
What are you doing that for? He's not going to read it because it's just like that opinion rate, so we need help. All right, let's get to Starr from North Carolina. Star, welcome you. You're on the air.
Hi, Matt. Can you hear me? Yes, I can.
Okay, thank you for taking my call. It's an honor to talk to you. I just wanted to say I'm sorry for your loss, and we still need you to excavate and proclaim God's truth. I know you know this, but sometimes a person just needs to be reminded. And before I get into my question, I also am impressed that you have cat.
That's really great. Because of the dog mania. And Meibal said that dog is God spelled backwards. It doesn't mean we should work with them.
So anyway.
Okay. All right. I wanted to discuss the topic of the Israelites being instructed to warp out entire peoples. I know that a caller called in about this maybe last week, a while ago, anyway, and They were kind of questioning that it was murder. But um I have a Uh saw it and read that Possibly some of those were Nephilim.
Genesis 4 says the Nephilim were in the land, and afterwards, you know, after the flood, Numbers 13:33, the Israelites, when they went to scout out Canaan, they came back with a report and said, We're like grasshoppers in their sight. In Deuteronomy 3, 11 with Yoga King of Bashan, it says that that verse specifically says he remained a giant, and then it proceeds to give dimensions of his bed, which was huge. And Goliath can Yeah. That David killed, which was probably an FLM.
So, with regard to the other peoples, at the very least, God didn't want idolatrous nations to mix with his people because that's considered religious whoredom for him.
So, yeah. I just wanted to get your thoughts on it today where Nephilim And this is a very new concept, by the way, of filling people for a moral society. I mean our um Corporal punishment, or what does it call it? Yeah, corporal punishment, capital punishment, is built on this.
So, yeah, and then I wanted to get your comments about all that. Thank you. Okay. Well That's one of the theories that would work: is that one of the reasons God was having people wiped out was because of the Nephilim that were occurring after the flood. They were giants, they probably were half breeds.
Now some will say, Well, then how could Nephilim have survived the flood? They didn't. One of the theories is that the the demonic forces were still trying to do what they were doing before the flood, and hence more Nephilim were produced, but not to the same extent. And so it could be that they were influencing or involved with certain cultures that were pretty bad. And so that would be a viable reason for destroying entire uh nation groups.
Another one would be, for example, the Canaanites.
Now, I'm going to. I'm going to speak about what the sins they did without saying them because there might be children listening. But the kind of things that they would do were so bad with little ones, animals, blah blah blah, and stuff. That I'll have to get back to the break and talk about it and what I got wiped them out.
Okay, so hold on, folks. And if you want, give me a call: 877-207-2217. 7-6, we're right back. It's Matt Slick Live, taking your calls at 877-207-2276. Here's Matt Slick.
All right, everybody, welcome back to the show. Let's get back on with Star. And I forget where we were. I started working on another article. During the break, I'm always worried.
We were talking about the Canaanites and they did really cana things. Yeah, okay. And you weren't going to describe.
So I understand. I. I'm familiar with the history stuff. Got it.
So yeah, so it was more of a surgical movement. And part of the reason God would do this is because if the Nephilim were around and these false nations were around, the paganism and the idolatry are around, then they might incidentally lead Israel. to such levels of idolatry that the Messianic line would be destroyed. And if that's the case, then God's word would have been broken and God would have been uh shamed and he would you know, it's an att attack.
So uh I believe that one of the reasons that God did what He did in those nations is to purify Israel. Excuse me, he got hiccups all of a sudden to purify Israel and to keep the messianic line pure.
Okay. Right. It's just that okay, and it was justified. God commanded them to wipe out these people. And this is something that's not taught in our churches.
And I don't know. It you know, people don't understand that. Yeah.
Well, it's true. And this was just asked of me, I think it was yesterday. I was in a a discussion forum someplace. And oh, I remember now, the guy said that that the God of the Bible is a a monster. And now I remember, I can think of where I was.
And I said, Okay, well, what's what's you're saying he does things that are wrong, right? And he said, That's correct. And I said, Okay. Are you an atheist? And he says, Yeah, he's an atheist.
And I said, Okay, well then. Where do you get your universal standard of morality by which you can then judge what someone else does and say that it is right or is wrong? Because without that, no disrespect meant, I said to him, but without that, you're just giving me your opinion. And opinions don't make something true or false.
So that's true. And uh And that's how it is. And so God has the right to execute people because all people are sinners. and we are by nature children of wrath. Ephesians 2.3.
And Romans 3.23. All have sinned fallen short of the glory of God.
So he has the right to execute us any time, to carry out the judgment upon us. The fact is that he is being merciful all the time by letting us live and breathe. And it's gracious that he does this. Matthew 5:43 through 48 talks about this.
So when he finally executes people, he's just carrying out a righteous judgment, and therefore it can never be immoral because it's done according to the righteous law of God.
Okay. Right, and And what is missing in our churches is the holiness of God, that he cannot look at sin. I mean, I've heard you previously say that you've gone to churches, and I don't know, something about the message. And I think that the messages have been diluted. The power of God has been taken out of them.
They mostly preach through. From the New Testament about God's love and grace.
Well, that's one side. He still has. a holiness side to him where he cannot tolerate sin. And while we are forgiven, we're expected to strive to be holy. And those reminders in enforcement is missing in our churches.
So anyway, I just thought that Star, I'm loving what you're signing. Oh, okay. Oh yeah. Uh Okay. Thank you.
I just feel that people should know the whole story. And also, whenever the Bible conflicts with a practice or a thought or a behavior or a feeling, the Bible's always right and I'm always wrong.
So I need to, you know, step up and align myself with the Bible.
So, yeah, it's still missing in our culture. And I think that the church has succumbed to the American culture rather than the church being able to influence the culture.
So, anyway. Yeah.
Yes, and um I I cannot agree with you more. And when I go to churches, I find the preaching to be weak.
Now I'm a problem to begin with. Because I've studied for so long, and I hear a sermon, I'm like, you could do that, I could say that, and I've got to stop that. I thought something I have to deal with. And that doesn't mean that God can't teach me through other people because He does. But the thing is, but I'm just telling you, it's just.
Sermons are They're just not very deep. There's just not much there. Uh they're boring. Their sermons are boring. Where do the graduates go?
I want to graduate and learn deeper things. See, that's what I teach. But when I teach deeper things, people don't like it because the deeper things of God deal with election and predestination and God's decrees. And these are the deeper things of God. And when you get into that, then it gets into the sovereignty of God over your particular life and your circumstances and what He's requiring of you.
This is the kind of stuff I like to teach and preach about. And it's difficult with people because it forces them to face who God truly is. And who they themselves truly are. And it's quite an intellectual, emotional, spiritual adjustment. And most people will just go to a different church.
So Anyway, that's what I think.
Well, I think you have to have some level of humility. It's very humbling when I put myself in the presence of God and what He expects. And American culture, if you're going to be marinated in that, that's not going to be conducive to self-examining with God's lens.
So that's what I think. You got that right. Yeah.
You got that right. Appreciate that. Good stuff. Good stuff, sister. Yeah.
All right. Thank you so much, brother. And thank you for answering my question, Matt, and illuminating the truth. And I wish you a blessed weekend. Oh, and I'm praying for you and your family.
My family certainly, my children need it. They need salvation. Yeah, I. Yeah.
Got it.
We'll say no more.
Okay. Thank you, brother. Thank you. Okay. Bye-bye.
Thank you. Goodbye. All right. That's encouraging. She was encouraging.
I like that. Good for her.
Now let's get to. Jamal? The Jamal or the Jamal? Hey, brother, how you doing, man? Uh it could be Jamil.
Jamil. You know, I've I've heard all kinds of stuff. You have? What's the best what's the best pun or or play on your on your name you you've heard? With you got anyone that stick out?
No, you we pretty much hit all all four or five of them right there. Yeah.
The the thing that gets me though is I have nothing but A's, the letter A in my name. and to hear all these kind of different variations. I'm like, where do you guys get this stuff from? It's Jamal, the Jamil, the Jamal, the Jamail. I don't know where all these variations come from, but hey.
You know, they say that with varieties of spices of light, so I'll remember that one. That's good. That's good. And I like making fun of people's names a little bit because, well, my last name is Slick.
So. Any rate, it's no big deal. All right. Okay. I'll have to get you back next time.
All right. Nobody don't have too much time. I wanted to ask this and also excuse me for my voice today. I'm not sure what's going on. It's probably probably the weather.
With Memorial Day coming up, I wanted to ask if Christianity still works for America. Um Yeah.
Well, it depends. Um if you mean Christianity as a theocracy, no. America was never a theocracy. If you remain, if you remain. If you mean in the sense that the Republic script uh the republic concepts, the concepts of our republic, were found in Scripture.
Well then in that sense, yes, it still works because the Puritans Who helped found this country are the ones who specifically drew out the principles of Scripture. Including things like self-representation and represent the right of self-defense and weaponry. and taking care of the land and the capitalist ideas of working and making a profit, and but you're supposed to help others in the process.
So these are all biblical principles principles.
So Does Christianity work still for America in that sense? Yes. But not in the sense of the majority of people submitting themselves to those very scriptures from which so much of our governmental truths were derived. And so in that sense, no.
So we need to look at it another sense, the spiritual sense. And America is not. Christian. Is not Christian. We have the ungodly rulers who promote and shove down our throats.
anti-Christian rhetoric. including the promotion of homosexuality, LGBTQ mob, the alphabet marby column. the destruction of life in the womb. And the Increase of socialist heresies.
Socialism is an unbiblical, ungodly governmental system.
So we have people in our governments who are warring against the truths of God in the name of God. And so, the hypocrisy and the error before them is incredible. I think we should have. Mm-hmm. qualified pastors running for governmental office.
That's what I think. Absolutely. We should get pastors who are preferably reformed. and start um running for office. and every level and everywhere.
That's what I think. Yep. That's pretty interesting. I knew this would be a pretty thoughtful response. Um So We try to.
Debug nice thoughtful response back back in back to you.
So let me ask you this. And I'll get off in case you have any other callers. With pastors being at every level. Um would 'cause I always try to look at the naysayers and any kind of comeback as a good debater with dudes such as yourself. And guys, if you haven't seen him debate, go check out his debates there on YouTube and all over the place.
So what somebody could say is, well, does that mean that nobody else should run for office?
So, what about the non-believer, the atheist and all that? What about people that are not pastors? What would you say in response to that?
Well, I'd say if an atheist wants to run, let him run. as long as the atheist is upholding the Constitution. And that's what they're supposed to do. Like we have Omar, that the senator, congresswoman, whatever. I my opinion, because she's Muslim, I believe, this is my opinion.
I believe that she's more dedicated to Islam and is there in part to undermine the country. That's my opinion about her. I think she's corrupt.
So You know, if if everybody was Christian There'd be no more bribes, no more kickbacks, no more insider trading. Go on. And here you stop. it would stop. And so, when we have unbelievers running, there's no guarantee, and with Christians as well, but there's no guarantee with unbelievers that they're going to do what's right.
And especially with Muslims. because their loyalty is to Islam, not the Constitution.
So if atheists want to run, I'd vote for them as long as they had conservative values or uphold the Constitution. And not trying to undermine it like so many people do, who even claim to be Christians, and they're undermining the Constitution and going against Scripture.
So, you know. Yeah.
Yep, that's another good point. And I was thinking about where it says in the Constitution there shall be no religious test, but I'm pretty sure you have that in mind in your answer. Uh because it also I believe it said that We want you not work to the detriment of the country. And if you're doing that, Um indirectly or directly. And yeah, that would I guess vacate your seat, so to speak.
That that would be a dialection of your duty. And we received that with Zoramandami. We're seeing that from, as you said, Elaine O'Malley. There's the music, brother. We've got to go, brother.
There's the music. It's all right. It's all right, man. I'm sorry. But hey, I love what you're saying.
I totally agree. And I hope to meet you again sometime, bro. Hey, we are out of time, folks. There's some music. Jamal's awesome.
And we've got to hang out together in North Carolina. I will not be on on Monday because it's Memorial Day. We'll be back on live on Tuesday. May the Lord bless you.
Have a great weekend, everybody. God bless. Another program powered by the Truth Network.
