Everybody, welcome to the show. It's me, Matt Slick. And your list of matches look live if you want, as usual. If you want to give me a call on this lovely day, which is April 2nd, 2026, if you want to give me a call, it's easy. The number is 877.

Two zero. 72276. And I want to hear from you, give me a call. You can also, if you are so inclined, you can email me. That's easy.

Also, just send an email to info at carm.org. Info at CARM.org. And we can get to you, get to the stuff that we do. My voice is a little bit, I just noticed it. You know, it's interesting because I put my headset on and then I hear my voice differently.

It's one of the things that people do when I remember I'd had them into the radio station, they'd put a headset on, and then they would talk differently because they're not used to that feedback. In their own ears, and they would lower their voice automatically because that's what you do. You're used to a certain volume in your own ears, and they would lower their voice. And I'd had to tell them, I'd had a signal, you know, my hand, I'd go up, which meant to speak louder. It's just a natural thing.

And so when you hear your own voice in a headset, it's kind of different. And anyway, long story short, I noticed my voice is a little bit different. I'm not exactly sure why.

So I've got something going on, or you know, a little. I was feeling a little bit under the weather yesterday. towards evening, just uh a little under the weather weather. And I was having discussions. Oh man, I was on Discord, having discussions with people.

And I gotta make an observation. I I'm gonna just throw this out and see what you guys think.

So I go on Discord. Go on different platforms. And I've noticed this. over the years. I'll go into a platform whatever it might be, where people are gathered to uh preach and teach the gospel.

And so that's what I want to do. I I work hard, let's just say, to do that. I study and do all this stuff and go in there and pray before I go and various things.

Well, anyway, so Mm-hmm. I've noticed this There's a couple places I go, and I'll start preaching and teaching. That's right. And How do we describe this? Uh All I can say is the devil.

sends his people. That's what I So like I'm in a room discussing theology, the Mormons will come in. He snorted docks. The Roman Catholics will come in. to a room and then they start uh just getting bad.

uh interrupting Uh Insulting. uh just various stuff that they'll do and they do it quite a bit to the point where i it's difficult to even have a conversation. There have been many times when we have had good conversations. It does happen. That as soon as I go to preach the gospel, I say, guys, I want to give you the gospel message, all of a sudden they don't want to hear it.

They don't want to hear the gospel that I present, which is salvation through faith alone in what Christ has done on the cross alone. And what's interesting is that when I preach that gospel to them, it'll expand it form, it's more often than not they become. upset.

Now, there are times when they're absolutely quiet, so I'm just going to be fair that it does happen. And then I've noticed that when I'm done with it when the on the rare occasions when they're quiet, They ignore what I say. And they go on to another topic. I just think it's interesting. Last night I was on a Discord room, a different room.

I kind of normally go into just Christians' chat and stuff. And um Well, let's just say that uh that that occurred there as well. That All of a sudden Uh well put it this way. I was in the room I can be in anonymously, no one knows I'm there. There I've detect tricks I can do.

And So no one knows, and I'm listening for 20 minutes while I'm working on a project. no problems, no hassles. Everything goes along smoothly. Then I go in publicly to the room. And, you know, how's it going?

And within five or ten minutes, it's almost always the case, we have people coming in. Who It's a Okay. I don't know how to describe it, vile. Evil Um uh ignore scripture They. fight against the grace of God.

the work of God. They uh sometimes cuss and swear. And I've noticed this is happening more and more.

Now, this is just a subjective experience. It really doesn't mean anything. Uh except it's just my experience and I'm I'm really surprised by it. That I shouldn't be, but I've noticed the increase of hostility. to me preaching the gospel.

Now, I'm not the only one who's a Christian in some of these rooms. And a lot of times, when other Christians start preaching the gospel too, the same thing happens. I really believe that there is a rise. In the the movement of the enemy of the Gospel of Christ. I really believe that.

I've experienced it. I've seen it. I'm going to read to you some scripture, which I think is interesting. We can just talk because we've got no callers at the moment, but it says in 2 Thessalonians 2: Now we request you, brethren, with regard to the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. and are gathering together to him.

Mm-hmm. That you not be quickly shaken from your composure or be disturbed either by a spirit or a message or a letter as if from us to the effect that the day of the Lord has come. For let no any way deceive you, for it will not come unless the apostasy comes first. And a man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction.

So the return of Christ must be preceded. By the revelation, the revealing of the man of lawlessness, The son of destruction, which most people agree, is the Antichrist. But before that, an apostasy must come. An apostasy means the falling away from the truth.

Now the Antichrist will display himself as being God. But what's interesting Is, and I'm just going to throw this out: speculation. This is just speculation. In 2 Thessalonians 2.6 It says, And you know what restrains him now.

so that in his time he will be revealed. And what restrains him, and there's a lot of debate about that. What is it that restrains the evil one?

Some think it's Christianity, and when the church gets raptured, preacher rapture. That's what some people think. that the restraining effect is gone.

Some think that it might be a spiritual restraint. The work of the Holy Spirit, that he somehow just lets the bad things happen. Mm-hmm. And Paul goes on, he says, for the mystery of lawlessness is already at work. Only he who now Restraints will do so.

until he is taken out of the way.

Now, this is the verse that I wanted to focus on just for a little bit.

Okay. Because He who restrains. What does that mean? He It seems to be. what's going on here.

Mm. It's um I'll get into it a little bit. It's actually the word. Yeah, I'll just leave it at that. He who restrains.

Let's just assume it's the Holy Spirit. It doesn't necessitate that the Holy Spirit's not here anymore. but that he his stopping his restraining.

Now I'm going to just jump across the texts here a little bit. and go to Revelation 20. And uh Just, you know, I'm just thinking out loud. That's all I'm doing. I saw an angel come down from heaven, holding the key of the abyss, a great chain in his hand.

He laid hold of the dragon, the serpent of old, who is the devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years, and threw him into the abyss, and shut it, and sealed it over him, so that he would not deceive the nations any longer.

So that's what the binding of Satan is about in Revelation 20. To not see the nations anymore. It doesn't mean he can't be doing other things. The binding is not disabling him from doing any evil. It's so that he will not deceive the nations any longer until the thousand years is completed.

Now, what does that thousand years mean? Not going to get into that right now.

So That's the issue.

So, the spirit of Antichrist, according to First John. is alive and well.

So I wonder, I'm putting this all together, this is just conjecture, just to think about. Could it be? And I'm sure that Other theologians of the centuries have asked the same question about their time reference.

So I grant that. Could it be that the apostasy is upon us is coming? And that the Antichrist will be revealed soon. and at the restraining of his work. also means that the haters of the true gospel Rise up and become vitriolic.

mocking. condemning. Because I have noticed a great deal of mockery. I'll go into a room and they know who I am, and I believe in God's election and predestination, which is what the Bible says in Ephesians 1:4 and 5, and they will mock the doctrine. They'll say, Oh, I just predestined not to bu understand that.

And this happens a lot. the mockery of God's word. And they're supposed to be churchgoers. realize in Roman Catholics and Eastern Orthodox. And I'll get a lot of mockery And then there's some Protestants who just hate Calvinism and the idea of God's election and predestination, and they will mock that.

They will do it as well. And then, when the gospel is going forth about salvation and the work of Christ alone. then I've noticed uh at this an increased in vitriol. And I don't know. Is it a manifestation of demonic forces who don't like it?

I don't know. I'm just thinking out loud and wondering. And this is what I've been going through a lot lately, over the past few years, but lately, in the past few weeks. What a dramatic increase I've noticed.

So there you go. I'm just thinking out loud. That's all it is. Food for thought. Do what you want with it, dismiss it.

or respond to it or not, doesn't really make any difference. Let's get to Let's see. Mark from Connecticut. Mark, welcome. You're on the air.

Yes, hi Matt. How are you? I am fine, brother. I'm fine. What do you got, buddy?

I'd like to give a shout-out to Charlie and Laura over there. in your ministry. And my my question is, um If a person Once in their life. says the sinner's prayer. but never follows through with like Regular church attendance, fellowship for Christian, the whole nine yards.

Would they still Uh Save. Normal. Normatively speaking, the answer would be no. Because if they just saying a prayer doesn't make you saved, just saying it. That's not the issue.

The issue is, you know, and you can be saved by the sinner's prayer. You can, you know, confessing Jesus. If it's real, if it's legitimate, there's no problem with that. I don't have any problem with the sinner's prayer. It contains many biblical aspects.

But just saying the words doesn't mean you're saved. And we have to understand that.

So. Uh, if they say it and don't live it, as 1 John 2:4 says, if you say you know him and don't keep his commandments. The truth is not in you and you're a liar.

Okay. All right.

Okay, thank you. Yeah, thank you very much, Matt. Have a good evening. You too, brother. God bless.

God bless. All right.

All right, well, there we go. And if you want to give me a call, you can 877-207-2222. Seven, six. Let's get to George from North Carolina. George, welcome.

You're on the air. Whoops, there's a break.

Sorry, man.

Sorry, buddy. The break right there.

Sorry, I should have held on. But we'll get right back to you after the break.

Okay, George?

So hold on, brother. Hey, follow to you right back after these messages. And remember, tomorrow, we're not live. Tomorrow's Good Friday. We're having it off, just giving you a heads up.

I'll be right back after these messages. Please stay tuned. It's Matt Slick Live, taking your call at 877-207-2276. Here's Matt Slick. All right, buddy, welcome back to the show.

If you want to give me a call, you can. It's easy: 877-20722. 7-6, except we have no lines open right now, so hold on. George, all right, George. We're back on the air.

Hey, huh ho hope you're doing well, Matt. Oh, yeah. By God's grace. Yep. Yeah.

Just going to say I enjoyed your program yesterday on the part of You know, having arrogance in your repentance rather than realizing that your repentance is coming from the goodness of God. I enjoyed that part. I did, you know. You started breaking up when you said something about Jesus being sprinkled rather than immersed. I was wondering if you were actually talking about when he was baptized by John.

Yeah. Yeah. So I believe that he was sprinkled according to the law. I don't believe he was immersed. That's just my position.

And I just big study on it. Go ahead.

So I'm just wondering: you're using Old Testament scripture to support that, but New Testament scripture, Matthew 3, 13, 16, it says that Jesus came up out of the water. Yes. Yeah, and and Mark not let me address that. Hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on. One at a time.

Let me address it. Came up out of the water.

Okay, there's first of all, before we get to that, Jesus was there to fulfill the law. Matthew 5, 17. And in Matthew 3, 15, he says the reason he was getting baptized was to fulfill righteousness.

So he was fulfilling that law of his in his baptism. Where is it in the Old Testament that you find what he did there? That he's fulfilling.

Well, the only places I've been able to find is in Leviticus 8, Numbers 4, Exodus 29. where it talks about a man who had to go into the priesthood. He had to be thirty years of age, and the Bible says Jesus was thirty. yet have a verbal blessing given, my beloved son whom I am well pleased. He had to have oil put on him, anointing.

And that's the anointing of the Holy Spirit upon him, and according to the law. He had to be sprinkled. That's just what the law says.

So he I believe he was sprinkled.

Now, when uh because he had to fulfill the Old Testament law That's what he had to do, because the New Testament covenant was not ratified or enacted until after the crucifixion. And that's Hebrews nine, fifteen through sixteen.

Now as far as coming up out of the water goes, Check this out. And this is in Acts 8:38. And he ordered the chariot to stop. This is the Ethiopian eunuch and Philip. He ordered the chariot to stop, and they both went down into the water.

They both went down into the water. Philip, as well as the eunuch, And he baptized him, but Were they both immersed? Uh it sounds like Huh? Oh. No, sorry.

No, they weren't both immersed. All right.

When someone is out in the ocean, you know, I used to live in Southern California. We say to our kids, Come up out of the water, get out of the water. They but their knees. And we say to our kids, get out of the water. And that's just the phraseology.

It's a mistake to think that to come out of the water necessarily means they were immersed. It doesn't say that. It just says they came up out of the water. And you could be up to the water in your ankles, your feet, your knees, your waist, your chest, or completely immersed.

So with film. Yes. You can surely be in the water like you say. But you don't have to you don't have to be in the water to be sprinkled. And John always seeked out large bodies of water to do his baptism.

He always seeked. The Jordan River, he thinks. Oh, yeah, I know. I can answer that. I can answer that.

But the point here, right now, is Philip, as well as the eunuch, went into the water. All right.

Philip baptized the eunuch when they came up out of the water. If coming up out of the water necessitates that they were immersed, then Philip had to be immersed. And it doesn't fit, it doesn't work. I'm just showing you from scripture that the phrase, come up out of the water, does not necessitate immersion. That's all I'm saying.

Okay. Well, um why would John seek out large bodies of water to do his baptisms if immersion was not required? Why not just why not just carry some water around and sprinkle people? There's no need to go to to large bodies of water to do his baptisms. That doesn't that doesn't add up.

When did I say immersion wasn't necessary? Oh, okay.

Well, uh now yeah, we can get somewhere if you're going to go there.

Well, hold hold on, hold on. I'm just I'm more of a logician than most people. I didn't say baptism immersion wasn't necessary. I didn't say it was necessary. I didn't make any comment about it.

I had simply said, Jesus was sprinkled according to the law. That's all I said. And so, a lot of times what people will do is they'll say, Oh, that means you're saying Jesus doesn't need to be, we don't need to be baptized. What? I didn't say that.

Or he wasn't, or nobody needs to be immersed. I didn't say that. I just said Jesus, according to the law, was sprinkled. That's all I said. But John did it in the Jordan River.

Why do you think and in two different places in the Bible? It says he came up out of the water, which means he was in the water. I mean, that's a literal translation. Yes, was he merged in the Greek? Was John the Baptist?

Hold on, hold on, hold on. Hold on. Was John immersed while he was in the water? But what would be the sense of being in the water if you weren't going to do an immersion?

Okay, I'm trying to teach you sorry, brother. Just trying to tell one step at a time. Does the phrase John being in the water mean that he was immersed the whole time? No. No, absolutely not.

But it doesn't make any sense to be in the water if there wasn't a purpose for being in the water. If you were just going to sprinkle, why wouldn't you be on dry land? Let me answer you. Why would you always be in the water? What if I answer you?

How about if I answer? You want answers? I mean, I'm trying to get there, but I don't think I agree, but that's all right, too. I mean, there's no. Hold on, take a breath, take a breath, take a breath.

I do this with people. Do you want an answer? And then they say, they tell me for an hour why they want an answer when they let me give them the answer. He talks to them.

Okay?

So, in Numbers 19:18, a clean person shall take hyssop and dip it in the water and sprinkle it on the tent. Then I will sprinkle clean water on you. Ezekiel thirty six twenty five. Could it be hyssop? which was a common plant used that grew on the banks of the water of the Jordan, was used in the procedures of the temple cleansing, of item cleansing, and of people cleansing.

If they're going to have As it says, all of Judea and Jerusalem are going out to John.

Well, where are they going to do this? Where's the place that they're going to go to if they go in a fountain? And get water and sprinkle water, pour it on their heads, whatever. If they're going to do that, In a town square that would be flooded with people, nobody could get to the water trough, nobody could get to the thing. There'll be people putting their hands in it.

So they're going to leave. They're going to go to a larger body of water. It's much water. People could then rest along the banks because a great many people would be there. and they could use the water to drink out of, and they could use the water to baptize.

Certainly there could have possibly been emergion emersions. Certainly it could possibly be the pouring of the water upon them. Because I can show you where baptism necessitates the word baptism, I can show you where it necessitates the word pouring. I can show it to you. The word, okay?

There's a lot here that people don't know.

So hold on, there's a little bit more. Hey, folks, we've got another break. We'll be right back after. The message is: please. Stay tuned.

It's Matt Slick Live, taking a call at 877-207-2276. Here's Matt Slick. All right, everybody, welcome back to the show. We're getting good stuff here. Oh, hey, George, are you still there, brother?

Yes, I am.

Alright, I wanted to add a little bit more, okay? Just, I want you to understand something. There's a little bit more here, all right. Hyssop. hyssop branch grew along the Jordan, right?

It was used to apply the blood of the Passover lamb to the doorposts in Egypt in Exodus 12:22. Hyssop was used in the cleansing ritual for a person healed of leprosy in Leviticus 14. It was used in purification rituals involving the red heifer, whose ashes were used to cleanse those who touched a dead body. Numbers 19. David uses it as a metaphor for moral and spiritual purification.

purify me with hyssop. and I shall be clean. Psalm fifty one verse seven. In fact, in John 19, 29, while Jesus is being crucified, it says a jar full of sour wine was standing there, so they put a sponge full of sour wine upon a branch of hyssop. and brought it up to his mouth.

Theologically it represents the application and purification. If John is baptizing people. if he's going to baptize Thousands and thousands of people, which I've done the math on this. He cannot go out into the water. up to his waist.

and baptize for hours and hours a day, he'll get hypothermia. If he's standing by the edge and he has a hyssop branch symbolizing the Old Testament, which was what the Jews would know and he would know. than possibly He could be taking the hyssop branch, dipping it in the water. of the Jordan and sprinkle it on people. cleanse them.

Which is the same kind of a thing that happened to Jesus. He was sprinkled with water. Then be consistent. Does it mean it's proof? But do you see what's going on?

Yeah, I mean, you still haven't got me there, and I think the Romans. Romans 6, where it says that we are buried with him through baptism. Into death and raised from the dead through the glory of the Father.

So that seems more like an immersion. Type symbolism for baptism. Excellent. And Colossians. I agree.

It's more like it. Colossians 2:11 and 12, it's related to circumcision. But buried with him in baptism. Does burial always necessitate burying under the ground and being immersed in the ground? And the answer is no.

because you can be buried in a tomb above the ground with a door put on the edge. And so what is the baptis what is the burial that's necessitated in the context? But here's something to think about. Did you know that the Old Testament prophesied that the Holy Spirit would be poured? Did you know that?

Yeah? Uh yeah, I poured out onto you, yeah. Yeah, because he said the Holy Spirit be poured, and Joel talks about it, and Isaiah talks about it. And so, guess what Jesus says? He checks this out.

He says, John baptized with water, you'll be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now. What is does if he baptized with water Okay. You be baptized with the Holy Spirit. What does the second baptism mean? Immersion sprinkling pouring?

Yeah. Well, and like you said, I see your point, but it's not strong enough to overcome all the I grew up in a Baptist church, so you're going to have. A harder time convincing me with uh, but I would definitely look into it and study it and pray about it and see which way the Holy Spirit leads me to believe. I don't think it's a reason to break fellowship with anybody over the gospel. That's that's a fact.

But I'll tell you one win that you did have with me. You did open my mind to us being here. During the tribulation and not being raptured, I will say you open my mind to that. I I still not sure which which way to think on that, but I Personally, I hope that we are raptured because I don't want to be here. You mean pre-trib rapture?

Yeah, I believe in the rapture, just before we go through it. But I'm with you. I don't want to go through it. I hope that is the case. Yeah, I'm with you.

I'm hoping I'm wrong. If we're going up pre-trib rapture, you can rub it in my face. You were wrong. Praise God, I was wrong. That's right.

But God will give us the strength as Christians to go through it if we are here.

So I'm not worried about it either way, but it does seem like it'd be easier not to be here for it.

Well, it would be easier, but I just don't see it in Scripture. Yeah, like I said, you opened my mind to that, and I've been taught that my whole life. And after listening and reading on your website about it, I. I was like, well, I'm not so sure now.

Well, good.

So I appreciate you, brother, and keep up the good work.

Okay, that's good. God bless. All right, take care.

Now, folks, before we get to the next caller, I just want to make a comment. Why would I waste time? tackling an issue like that? Why make it public? Does it accomplish anything?

Yes, it does. The reason I'll do this is twofold. I want people to be shocked into. What does the Bible actually say go study it? I want him to see that, see if a guy on a radio named Slick is right or wrong.

Maybe I'm wrong. I want people to study. And the other thing is that has Have you just swallowed hook, line, and sinker, everything you've been taught? And that's a question. And I've discovered over the years that I want people to study.

and uh I'm not loyal to a denomination. Uh I'm not. I'm not in the pulpit someplace where if I don't preach this certain thing, they'll kick me out.

So I don't have that hanging over me. I can teach whatever I want. And I know that a lot of the radio listeners don't agree with me on this, and that's fine. But you know what? You're getting exposed to stuff.

It's different. It causes you, hopefully, to go to the Word of God and say, What does it really say? Is it correct? And that's what I want you to do. I always say: don't trust a guy named Slick on the radio.

That's not what you want to do. You want to trust what the the word of God says.

So go check and go see and see is what I'm saying does it have any merit. And one final point is If I can get you to say, you know, there are other views, I can see the strength in them, but I don't agree. If you could come to that and in that, You have more fellowship with those of different opinions, you don't separate from them, then that's what really is the best goal. All right, let's see.

Next longest waiting is Jermaine from California. Jermaine, welcome. You're on the air. Yeah. Hey, Nat.

Um Enjoying the show so far. Yes, I enjoyed that guy. It was fun. But you know, I got to ask you, we've called so many times, you know. We talk.

Um we've talked off the on the phone too. Do you think it's a good idea for me to just throw these things out? People shake them up a little bit? Or what do you think? Think I should just.

Not. Mm-hmm. Well, I I think uh my most honest opinion is If we're we're going to be Christian thinkers you know, we're going to reason together then We have to explore things from all angles, and I think you do that. You do a good job of it. I do wonder if you take a little bit of glee poking people sometimes, because it is kind of entertaining.

I kind of like to hear you fight sometimes. That's just me, but. I think it's for a purpose, though. It's not to be malicious. It's just to encourage us.

To think because I think when you really explore your Bible for all it's worth. you're going to do exactly what you're doing in I mean, look what happened. He was through to that. He just had a caller say he changed his mind on a doctrine that's very questionable in the pre-trib rapture.

So I think it's great. Good.

Well good, I just was curious because I could you know, I'm not so sure sometimes if it's wise, but but I I I tell people this stuff anyway. I just tell them, Look, think, what does it say? Don't just swallow whatever you've been taught. Do your own thinking. Do it.

I just wish more people would do that. I'd love to be able to go through a bunch of stuff I know in scripture that shakes people up when I tell them. A lot of people, in my opinion, a lot of Christians do not know a lot of what the scriptures actually teach and a lot of things. But that's just me. Hey, so uh what do you got, buddy?

Yeah, and I'm going to pick that up on tomorrow, or well, the next show, on Monday, if you get a chance. But my question for today has to do with. A little bit of what we're talking about. Like, as a kid, I always heard: oh, the Jews killed Jesus. And when you start really looking into that, I I kind of take the side of I think all peoples kind of joined in, Jews and Gentiles, because You know, I was looking at uh I think it was Acts chapter 4 like around verses twenty five to twenty eight and It seems to indicate that It wasn't just, you know, quote, the Jews.

It was a combination of people, and I see that in all humanity, just we're sinners. You know, and that's what we do. People do stupid things, especially in crowds. I've been to games. I've seen people doing some insane things over you know, cheering for laundry.

And teams that they're not even playing on.

So it It doesn't surprise me. When I hear some things, some ideas that get said verbatim to the point where people. Just kind of take it as a gospel, but When I hear people say the Jews killed Jesus, That doesn't necessarily encompass all Jewish people. Correct in that. Yes, it's a figure of speech called a Senectidi.

Senetity. Sinek Deki. Hold on. I'll explain what that is when we get back, okay? Here's a break.

Hey, folks, man, this is flying by. And please stay tuned. Be right back after these messages. Be right back. It's Matt Slick Live, taking your calls at 877-207-2276.

Here's Matt Slick. All right, buddy, welcome back to the show. Let's get back on with Jermaine from California. Jermaine.

Okay. I had to look up how to pronounce the word synec. key. Synecthiki. And it's a figure of speech where a part represents the whole.

Okay, so that's what that's going on when it says that.

Okay?

Yeah, I think that makes perfect sense. And in a I think it's more reflective of reality.

So yeah, I appreciate it. That's good. Yeah. Yeah. Fruit.

Uh let's see. Yeah. Grumpy.

Okay, I'm sorry, reading stuff.

Okay. All right, brother.

Well, God bless your man. All right, man. All right, got blessings. I just got sidetracked. One of the guys in the chat says: If Matt really believed the sprinkler baptism doctrine, I challenge him to walk down the street and shoot people with a child's water pistol and say you've been baptized.

Well, that wouldn't be baptism now, would it? See, that's an example. I don't know if he's seriously joking, but those kind of comments, I'm not going to pick on this guy, but it reminds me, those are the kind of things people will say.

Well, then go shooting with a pistol. And they're mocking, but I don't believe he is. But it does happen. Man, oh man, oh man. Anyway, Cole from Georgia, you're the next longest waiting.

You're up, buddy. Yeah yeah. Great. Thank you.

Now, I got a gripe with you. about uh Satan in the bottomless pit.

Okay. Now, I got a question. My question is this. When has there ever been a time when A little kid can take a cobra and play with him as a pet. And when has the the lion ever not desired to choose?

uh uh uh tear uh a sheep into pieces. And and they eat straw. Because that's what it said. No, well, that's what I'm saying. It says once Satan is back home.

This is what's gonna it's gonna be that. Where does it say that once he's bound, that's what happens? Yes, it says that it is when he's thrown in the bottomless pit. Two.

Okay. Man, I love you, brother. It's just going to be peace. It's just going to be total peace. But it doesn't say that I'm looking at Revelation 20.

Okay, what does it say?

Well, I can't read the whole chapter word for word. I mean, it just bore the crud out of people. But it doesn't say those things right there. I mean, if you think it says that. then it's a good idea to go check to see if it's what it says.

Well, I know it says that in Isaiah, which is reference to the millennials. But that's not in Isaiah. But that's not Revelation 20. Look, look, look, brother. I know that, man.

You gotta be listening. Hold on, brother. Hold on. Wait a second. Wait a second.

What does it say that's the reason he's bound? It's so that he won't deceive the nations. That's what it says he's bound for.

Okay, now let me ask you a question. Let me ask you a question. A few questions. I'm gonna try and set you up here. All right, I'm gonna try and trick you a little bit.

All right.

Now you believe the word of God, right? Of course.

Okay, good. All right.

Good, good.

Now, in Matthew 12, Jesus is casting out demons. And they say he's doing it by the power of the the devil.

Okay. And he says If I cast out demons by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God has come upon you. Will the kingdom of God's come upon him? If he's casting them out? By the Spirit of God?

Then he says the kingdom of God's here He says, Or how can anyone enter the strong man's house and carry off his property unless he first binds the strongman?

So in order to cast out the demons, He had to bind the strong man. That's the devil. Can I can I can I answer that? Sure. Sure.

I was going to ask you if he was bound or not, but go ahead. It This is what he's referencing, the Holy Spirit. Because he said that the kingdom is within you. He told him the kingdom is within. Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait.

We're not talking about that. Was. Man. Was. Was Satan bound if Jesus says in order to cast out the demons, the strong man has to be bound?

So he was casting him out, the demons out, so was the strong man bound. Awards for That's right.

Okay. But wait a minute, wait a minute. Didn't ask, did man, this happens all the time. They'll just jump into a different direction, the deep end of the pool. I just ask, if it says he's bound, then you ask questions.

First, establish: yes, he's bound. What does it mean that he's bound here in this context? That's just the question. They say it doesn't mean this or that. How do you know it does or doesn't mean that?

I'm just saying he's talking about casting out demons right there out of the person. Yes, and then here's the questions that go along. Is this one of the questions would be this is this the same kind of binding that's talked about in Revelation twenty? They're just questions you ask because Instead of jumping and saying, this is what it has to mean, I don't do that. I just say, what does it mean here?

What does it mean in the context? I don't have any denomination I have to salute. There's no pre-trib flag I have to raise up in the morning and do the trumpet call to. I don't have to do any of that stuff. I just read what it says.

It says you bound bound him.

So, wait, okay, okay, so you really believe that Satan's bound right now? You believe that? Wait a minute. You didn't. No, I don't, actually.

I suspect he's been let loose to deceive the nations. Hence we have world wars. No, but I'm saying, has there ever been a point where Satan's been bound a thousand years, in your opinion? What does the word thousand years mean? What does it what does a thousand mean?

It's a millennial. It's a millennial. How do you know? Because it says it in Revelation, it says there'll be a thousand years where Christ will reign on the earth for a thousand years. And he says that there will be peace.

Okay. Believe he's gonna teach me.

Okay, okay, okay, okay, I got you, I got you, I got you. You're like a professional d diver diving in the deep, way out there. I'm going, wait a minute, before you jump. Let me ask you something. Notice what the Bible says about the word thousand years.

But it's a term a thousand stuff. Ecclesiastes six six Even if the other man lives a thousand years twice, and does not enjoy good things. Or how about Psalm 90 verse 4? For a thousand years in your sight is like yesterday. Psalm 50, verse 10.

For every beast of the forest is mine, the cattle on a thousand hills. Psalm eighty four ten, For a day in your court is better than a thousand elsewhere. Duramin seven nine. The faithful God who keeps his covenant and his faithfulness. to a thousand generations.

So And in 2 Peter 3.8, You know, a thousand years is but like a day, and day is like a thousand years.

So, what does it mean? How does God use the term thousand? Let me make one point and I'm going to let somebody else get on. I'm going to make this last point.

Okay, now, the thousand years, God said the day that you eat up the tree, now I'm not a theologian, this is just my small brain.

Okay, he said you're going to die, okay? No man has lived a thousand years in the eyes of in a day in the eyes of God because 969. That's interesting. I like that. I never thought of it that way.

No one's ever lived a thousand years. I wonder if that's interesting. 960. Anyway, this could point. Nobody has ever lived a day.

Nobody has ever lived a day. in the eyes of God because nobody ever reached a thousand.

Okay. There's quite an inference, but okay. Enoch and Elijah both didn't die, so they're past a thousand years, technically. I think they're going to be the two disappointed ones for man to die. I think they're going to be the two witnesses that come by in tribulation.

Yeah, I suspect that's the truth. I suspect that is a possibility as well, but that means they live longer than a thousand years. But do you see what I'm saying? The point is, look at this. Not really, because if the time stopped when they went to heaven, Matt.

The time stopped. No, no, back to Revelation. They went outside the realm. They went outside the realm of God. Hold on.

Hold on. Back to Revelation 20. Let me ask you. It says, I saw an angel come down from heaven. Was that a literal angel in literal heaven?

What do you think? Literal or figurative? What do you think? Yeah. Maybe.

I think it's literal. I think it's literal. I think it's literal. No, hold on, hold on. Holding.

Hold on, hold on, dude. Dude, what's that little? Man, I enjoyed talking to you.

Okay, and holding the key of the abyss. Was it a literal key? No. Ow.

Okay. And a great chain. Was it a literal chain? Yeah. In his hand.

It could have been, it could have been, it could have been, it could have been. You don't know that.

Well, I don't think an angel is going to bind Satan with a literal chain. But and laid hold of the dragon, which is figurative, the serpent of old, that's literal. Who is a devil and Satan, that's literal, and bound him for a thousand years? Is it literal or figurative? I'm just saying the context.

Is there's figurative and literal usage here?

So, why does the word thousand have to be literal? Particularly since Satan was bound to some degree, some sense in Matthew 12. And he's binding here in Relation 20, which occurs in some figurative usage. Doesn't mean it isn't literal, but I'm just saying that there's a context.

So he went to see the next one. Was the burning bush literal? Was the burning bush literal? Okay. Yeah, but we're not talking about the burning bush.

We're talking about literal and not literal. Was that literal? We're talking about Revelation 20. I'm just trying to show you. I'm just making a point.

You do that, you know, you do that to me. Oh, this is awesome. I'm just trying to get you to think that you can't be as adamant as you say. I think you're very smart, and I love your theology and all that, but I think you're wrong on baptism and on the millennium. I think you're wrong on those two.

I think you're wrong on those two. Maybe I am, but no problem. I'm just throwing it up. You nail, and I, and I tell people about, you nailed the Trinity, man. You may, oh man, you open up.

I've never seen nobody break down the Trinity like you, man. I'm telling you. Praise God. That's not you. That's God.

God. I just hope he opens your eyes up to baptism and millennial, the millennial reign. I hope he opens your eyes. Good.

I hope he does, too. You're right, man. I'll call you back later. All right.

All right.

Thanks a lot, brother. Really, really appreciate it. That's awesome. Oh. Whew man, I'm enjoying that.

That's that's good stuff. Let's get Jamal. Jamal, you got like a minute and a half, buddy. What do you got, man? What's up, buddy?

Shay, good stuff as usual, Matt. Thank you for just taking my call. Wanted to see what the whole I guess Holy Week was about because I don't know much about it. And also, Should we even be saying happy Easter? Should we maybe even be saying as the representative has been talking about the saying may be saying happy resurrection Sunday or happy resurrection season?

I a lot of people that I know say happy ha resurrection. Yeah, and uh uh and so they they use that terminology of ha ha Merry Easter, happy Easter. Um You know, I'd like to resurrection day. You know, he rose from the dead, and that's what I do. You know, and I agree.

I think we should be more focused that way. Yeah. Yeah. No problem.

Okay, so um Uh kind of get away from saying happy Easter I've Yeah, I d I don't say happy Easter unless it's accidental, but uh That's what I do. I just, you know, hey, you know. There you go. That that's it. And uh Okay.

So it's not a big deal to me. I believe in a lot of freedom, and I'll just use the opportunity to be able to witness and share the faith. And if someone wants to say happy Easter to me, I'm not going to correct him. I'll say, hey, thank you, you know, and just go on and maybe talk to them. You know, it's about his resurrection, crucifixion, resurrection.

And they'll say, oh yeah, that's right. And you know, that's good. But I'm with you. I think in churches they should say. Not use Easter.

But there you go, buddy. Hey, we're out of time, brother. All right, uh-huh. All right, thank you. God bless.

You too. All right folks, man, I enjoyed that. That was a good conversation with that guy. I hope you enjoyed this show, and I love it when people don't agree with me. And we have good conversations.

May the Lord bless you. I will not be live on here tomorrow. Good Friday. Be back on here, Lord willing, on Monday. Have a great Easter, everybody.
