Info at CARM.org. And um Uh Put the subject line radio comment or radio question, and everything should work work out there nicely, easy peasy.
So good, everything's good.
Okay, good, good, good. All right.
Well, now got some good news. Um the good news is that uh The Meeting some change in plans. The CARM website, the new CARM website, is ready to go. And uh It's not released yet because we're having it beta tested.
So I'm going to have a few of my friends uh and some of the staff here at Carm work on it. It'll probably take a week. of um of stuff. And then we're going to release the site. And uh there was more to do, but we just ran out of funding.
And uh So the site um Let me give a a few features about it. It's really cool when you read down the article, a blue bar moves from left to right across the page in a really thin line. That's cool. When you go to an article, it'll give you an estimate of how how much time it it takes to read it. Let's see, it'll keep track of you, but it doesn't do it in a weird, creepy way that we don't want our information given away.
The tracking is compliant with the the present laws in Europe and here.
So they don't have any information on you. It's just a little thing on a c on a computer. It knows your IP, and it doesn't even put stuff on your computer. And so it can track where you've been, because all the information is on our server, not your computers and stuff like that. And so it'll.
It will know where you've been from that. And if you go to a different computer, you know, it doesn't know. That's okay. But we're going to put in later on a sign-up feature where you can sign in and get all that stuff transferred to other computers if you want it. The search feature is.
Man, is it fast It is so fast. And the load time is super fast on on the uh on the site. Our guy had to put a slow down animation in it so that when you click it, it did it even change? That's how fast it has been. And is protecting the data from scrapers.
I'm going to talk about something here, you know, and maybe some feedback from some of you if you want to give me some feedback, and that's the issue of trust value.
So I use AI regularly and I cross-check it and What I find on a semi-regular basis is its failure to accurately cite some things and say a few things. But for the most part, it's very good. And um What AI does is it goes in and it scrapes multiple websites and then combines the answers. into a response.
Now that can be okay as long as the places and the websites it's looked at are good, but if they're not that good, then you might get some information that's not that Great, and that's the potential.
So, uh Carm has what we call a truth and trust value. It is dedicated to the truth based on God's Word. Every article that I write has to filter to my own knowledge. Biblical theology, and if I'm not sure about something, I go check very good, reliable commentaries, ask. questions.
I look at Greek man I mean not Greek manuscripts, but Greek um Sometimes I'll look at Greek manuals that teach Koine Greek, biblical Greek. I'll go through and verify things and check stuff. I was going through writing an article on on Mohammed. And um Let's see if I release it. If I release it or not, did I release it today?
Let's see. Yeah, who's the best example for mankind? Jesus or Muhammad? And I released this article today. And uh It's got documentation in it, and I got a, oh, I just wanted to put one thing in there.
I'll work on it later. But even there, when I was going through, And researching, you gotta be very, very careful. of of sources. And so I don't let anything in unless basically I verified it. And so That's that.
Now what we're gonna do also. with the site is It's uh we're we're gonna start on a pa putting the word out for other writers. They will have to be vetted very thoroughly. Their theology, their knowledge, their writing ability to see if they want to tackle certain subjects and write articles and One of the things that the CARM site now can become is a repository for really good articles. Because it's going to have the truth and trust value that we've been working on for 30 years.
I've written about 5,000 articles. on the site and uh in October the site will be thirty years old. October 25th is our anniversary date. 30 years I've been working on that site. thirty years.
It's a long time. I started it back in 1995. And I'm 68, I'm almost 69 here. Not a big deal. Praise God.
But working on it a great deal. And we've got more coming to the site when we get funding in. If we get funding in. Because um It's been a little bit difficult lately financially, and so So we had to forego some of the more modifications to the new site and just work on getting it released. And hopefully, in about a week or two, we will be able to do that.
Hopefully, that's the goal.
Okay, that's the goal. And uh we'll see what happens. But um Man, it's fast and it's radically different looking than what you see. The menu on the left side of the carm site is gone. but I'm going to fix it later so you can find that menu.
but it'll be a different kind of a a setup. And um Alright, let's see what else. What else? I guess one other thing. Let me go to it really quickly.
Super fast. Um Those bots. Oh yeah. Bots are blocked.
So, a lot of robots come in and try and get in and do things to the site and get information. And the programmer did a very sophisticated bot. locking Thing. It took a lot of time. And so.
Nothing can get in. And um and get information. There's that We have a Carm link set up. I'll release that later, where we are able to. uh produce forwards and uh things like that.
Anyway, there's a just a lot of stuff. Uh let's see what a couple of other things um Yeah, the first time you go to it, though, it'll it asks. It just sits there. and a page comes up and it's verifying that if you're a robot or not. That's all it's doing.
It takes about one or two seconds, then you're done, and that's it. It doesn't happen again.
So there's that. And we're using a Cloudflare turn styled CAPTCHA. which is super sophisticated. Very, very state of the art. There you go, and let's see.
So it loads super fast. Because there's servers all over the world and we're going to be able to have the site load within a second. Anywhere. It's really good. And if it go goes any slower than that, something's up with your internet.
That's how secure this is. That's how fast it is. And the AI, when you go to ChatGPT or Perplexity or Gemini. We've got it set up now so that when you do that, It'll bit here, it'll get released out. That it'll just go to the site.
give you a little bit of information and point to the site so that you can have the trust value there. I think that's about all the stuff I've got.
So we're going to be having people to come in to do a beta testing on it. And that's it. And it's going to forego a lot of the SEO, search engine optimization technology that has been implemented by Google. Because Google now almost isn't even a player in this anymore because everybody's going to Um Chat GPT or I mean AI is a fact. Hey, I got a question here.
I'm going to ask Jack. I'm going to do this right now live. I'm going to go in, I'm going to ask it a question. Let's see. Okay.
We'll type it in as I'm doing it. What percentage, let's see. Procentage of uh web Inquiries Our chat. GPT versus Google search. Let's see what it says.
See if it comes up with anything. I don't know if it's going to be accurate or not because usually I'll go to three or four and figure it out.
So, uh Sugo search continues to dominate, but ChatGPT is now 9%. Nine percent. I thought it'd be a lot more by now. Uh So that's that's interesting, that's good. Anyway It's increasing, it's growing.
And um We'll see.
Alright, so This is the Our programmer guy says it's the only one on the internet of its kind, at least in the Christian circles. All other websites don't have we're on the cutting edge. If you made a comment too, one last thing. Um Maybe I'll put it up. Oh man.
The first. The first iteration of the carm site that I did back in 1995 or six or seven is pretty hideous. Amen. It's it's not pretty. But it worked, it was functional.
And he laughed. He was talking about it. He goes, Yeah, it's pretty ugly, but that's what it was back then. That's what it was in the mid-90s with the websites. They were brutally bad.
And he says, but we're at the cutting edge even then. And so we got to smile. From that.
Okay, there you go. I've rambled a lot. Let's get to Jermaine from California. Jermaine, welcome. You are on the air.
Hey, Matt, I um Yeah. Kinda excited to see the website. Can't wait.
Well, hey man, you know, I trust you. If you want, you can email me, I'll give you the address, and you can be a beta tester. Yeah, absolutely. And I'll email you, I've emailed you a couple times. I'll email you tonight.
Okay, sounds good. Right, so my question was uh the Council of Trent versus Council Of Nicaea and a quote that's attributed to that. Maybe you can. explain the differences. the reasons for the councils.
Okay, there we go. You're there?
Okay. Little tech issue in mind, right?
Okay, sorry about that, buddy. That was on my end.
Okay. Okay, so you want.
Sorry, I do apologize for that. That was definitely on my end. I did something. S just out of habit.
So uh you want to know about the Council of Nicaea versus the Council of Trent. What What was the question related to them? Yeah, just the purposes for the councils and then I wanted to asked you about a quote that's attributed to to someone who read.
Okay, the purposes of the councils, generally speaking, are to correct error and to establish. A a systematic doctrinal um a dissertation, let's just say. on what is orthodox and what is true.
So the Council of Nicaea, when it first came out, One of the reasons it was there was to combat the heresy of Arianism. Which is the teaching that there's only one God in all places, all time, but the one God is one person, and that Jesus is a. created thing. And so It was convened to to fight Arianism. and defend the deity of Christ.
And I like to brag, I've got a break coming up. I've been in what the Council of Nicaea's chambers. Uh over in Turkey.
So a different one though, a different year. But we'll be right back folks after these messages. Please. Stay tuned, we'll be right back. It's Matt Slick Live, taking a call at 877-207-2276.
Here's Matt Slick. All right, everybody, welcome back to the show. Let's get back on with Jermaine. from California, Jumaine is still there. Can you say hello?
Okay. So, yeah, they were to combat usually pressures. The Aryan. Heresy for the Nicene, but the Council of Trent was established to deal with the Protestant Reformation.
So that was those are the basic reasons.
Okay. I had read a quote. And I misspoke. I know he wasn't there, but Saint Augustine, I guess. And uh I think I had read the quote by way of Dr.
Barnhouse of how the Eucharist basically contained the presence of Christ. If I read that. directly Just that kind of teaching which is an error, that that have an influence on the councils at all.
Well, I don't know. That would be the job of a historian to say who would know. certain things percolated in the uh the site uh in the site in the in history in the church.
Now when I go to Let's see. Early church fathers on the Carm website and I go to topics. And I look in there, I see. I like this. Let's see, the Eucharist, here we go.
I'm going to look and see if I got any questions. Quotes from Augustine. Authentic verse Augustine. Yeah, and and I'm looking And it says, was not Christ once for all offered up his own person as a sacrifice for sacraments? had not some points of real resemblance to the things of which they are sacraments.
they would not be sacraments at all. They resemble it, he says. Uh And then he says uh Christ said not to eat the body and blood which you see, understanding spiritual spiritually. What I have said, ye are not to eat his body which ye see, nor to drink his blood. Augustine said, and another one He says, except ye eat the flesh of the man, says Christ, and drink his blood, ye have no life.
This seems to enjoin a crime or a vice. It is therefore a figure. Enjoining that we should have a share in the sufferings of our Lord.
Okay?
Okay. I guess um clears up a little, just so it seems like maybe some Some in the Catholic faith that taken that. And kind of run and created some. you know, some doctrine that shouldn't be pressed out. Yeah, that's frequently the case.
That a lot of times what they'll do is they'll just. People They want Augustine. Augustine was a gigantic theologian, and everybody wants Augustine to be on their side. And so the Catholics, East Orthodox, will find things that he said at different times. See, this is what he said.
But it just demonstrates that no. Um Augustine did not hold to that position, but people.
Well, here's a possibility that early on he may have said something like that, and then later on in life. He may have said, No, no, no, this can't be this way. This is what happens with some of the church fathers.
So it depends on when they said it and if something later uh corrected it or modified it. That's just one of the things we have to consider.
Okay. Okay. Alright, man.
Well, have a good weekend. Hope to uh. Talk to you t next week and I'll I'll send you that email. Hey, please do, brother. Please do.
And put your phone number in there too, okay?
Alright. I sure will. All right, close enough.
Alright, God bless.
Alright. Now let's see, next longest waiting person is Jason from Mississippi. Welcome you around. Thank you. I've been wrestling with this for about three years now.
And maybe I'm not following the logic correctly.
So, any help with it would, of course, be appreciated.
So, question: If God's judgment on sin Uh Follow God's judgment on sin, then we see that the penalty for sin is eternal punishment. God's penalty for sin on Jesus. Jesus Christ on our behalf. Would not have been a lighter sentence. Jesus would have had to suffer equally for all.
for our sin as we would. Had we still been under God's judgment on Sorry, got your wrath on Judgment Day.
So since eternity is you know, eternal. How do we harmonize the fact that Jesus suffered an eternity's worth of God's punishment in a moment in time.
Well, that may or may not be the right question. And here's a reason. Let me kind of run through this.
So if I were to I use the person I'm talking to as an example, I'd say, what if we're talking and I slap you upside the head? You may step back and go, what was that for? You may take a swing back at me, whatever. If I slap the President of the United States in the head, you know, in the face. Uh it's a federal offense, I'm going to jail.
But the exact same response gets a radically different reaction depending on who it's against.
So, when we sin, we sin against God, and He is infinite, so therefore, there's an eternal consequence. The punishment is an eternity away from God inside that realm of punishment. But Jesus, when he was on the cross, offered an infinitely valuable sacrifice.
So the question then becomes Is it necessary for him to suffer an infinite amount of time? Time.
So let's look at this a little bit differently. If The amount of punishment is due to the time then we might have a logistical issue, but if the punishments is due to on the person. Then we have something different. Because if he took the wrath and he is infinite in value, And he's also the one who Who is the, not only the sacrifice, but the one offended, then there is a sense in which he obtains the infinite value of that punishment because of who it's against. I mean because of who because of him excuse me because of him suffering.
And so when we look at it that way, then we don't need the necessity of a time duration. being the issue. Because we could say that a a person Like Bob, who's an unbeliever, he's judged, he goes to hell. His soul is not infinite in value as compared to Jesus because he's God in flesh.
So when punishments hip happened to both, one must endure it for the whole time, Because that is a logical requirement, because Bob is finite and he's not of divine value, therefore, the consequence upon him. Can only be worked out in an infinite amount of time, where if the punishment comes upon Christ who is infinite in value, Then the Yeah. The one who suffered has suffered Correspondingly, not in time, but in quality, and therefore satisfying.
Okay. I'm definitely going to have to watch this video again and listen to that about five more times to take it all in. But man, I think you've helped. I've been fighting with this for about three years.
So thank you so much for your. knowledge. Yeah, it's an issue of logic. In fact, your question is a very good question, and I've never. been asked it that way before.
So, uh I'm going to see if I can t write up a title. And then Write an answer. and then write an article on it.
Okay. Yeah, that's got I'll I'll definitely be uh uh watching out for that. Uh let's see if I can do this. If punishment of Christ's duration is eternal punishment, why did he not suffer eternally? Yeah.
Okay, that's the basic current that'll remind me. And uh Yeah, yeah, so Okay, yeah, it has to do with, like I said, it has to do with the one offended and the result of it, not the duration. But yeah, I'll work up an article on it, okay? That I would greatly appreciate it, as I'm sure everyone else will. Thank you so much.
Hey man, you're welcome, man. No problem at all.
Alright. Bye bye.
Okay, well God bless. Yeah.
Alright, now let's. Ooh, we lost the next caller who was waiting.
So I'm going to put my notes in here. I can only seem to work on. You know, I've got all these notes and stuff. Hey, there's the music. That means be right back after these messages.
And by the way, ladies and gentlemen, I'll not be on the air Monday because it's a holiday. I'll be back on next week on Tuesday, just letting you know. If you have a comment or a question, you can give me a call, 8772. 07. Two two seven six.
right back. It's Matt Slick Live, taking a call at 877-207-2276. Here's Matt Slick. Alright everyone, welcome back to the show. Let's get on the air with it.
Oscar from New York. Oscar, welcome. You're on the air. Yeah.
Thank you. Yes, I have a question. It held the lake of fire, OSL going to be destroyed in the lake of fire. That's a question that I've wrestled with over the years.
Some people have absolute answers, some don't. I'm the one that kind of goes in between because it seems to be that hell, which is Sheol or Hades, is a temporary place. And Lake of Fire seems to be the eternal place. Basically Basically, what we would say is that hell will be destroyed in the lake of fire. In that lake of fire is the ultimate, and that the condition and state of hell, She'ol Hades, will cease.
And those people in that judgment, in that place, will be cast into the lake of fire and then cast out into outer darkness. Ah, my goodness, without hope Forever. Yeah.
So then but they will be destroyed completely. No, they will still exist. Ooh.
Okay. Annihilationists Annihilationists is a group of within Christianity, and I still say they're Christians, even though I believe they're quite wrong about this. But they will say that after a while of punishment, the person's annihilated. Or they might say that instead of punishment, they're just annihilated quickly. But the problem with that is, of both of those positions, is that biblically speaking, Punishment is experienced.
If someone is annihilated, they don't experience punishment.
So when someone says punishment is their non-existence, that's non-sequitur. That's like saying An imaginary person who doesn't exist next door, that's who I'm punishing. What? There is no punishment. He doesn't exist.
So um But some and then if they s if some say that they are punished for a while according to their sin, after they've met the requirement of what that re that is, then they're annihilated. But then the problem remains. If that's the case, then why don't they go to heaven? Because they've satisfied the requirement of the law. In punishment.
Yeah.
So there's logical problems with it, and I can get some other issues too. But at any rate, the consequences. One more question. Yeah.
Okay. Do we have one more question? I notice in Hebrew twelve twenty nine it speaks about God is a consuming fire. I'm just curious. Easy con easy.
Is God illegal fighting? Is illegal fighting God? No, he's a consuming fire. Just see. What uh it's just an analogy.
Uh God is not a fire. Because fire needs a fuel. And then carbon dioxide is produced, and things like that. We don't forget that.
So fire was understood back in the culture. To be something that purified as well as destroyed, but in this sense, when they would purify metal, they would, you know. heat it and then they would take the dross away as a consuming fire. He's that which purifies you.
Okay. Yeah.
Okay, thank you very much. Shimboy.
Okay. God bless.
Okay. Hey folks, if you want to give me a call, it's easy. 877-207-2276, I want to hear from you. You can also, if you want, you can email me at info at carm.org. And you can um Put in the subject line radio comments or radio question and we can get to it then.
I'm going to get to the questions. Just do some questions, you know, like questions.
So there's that. But I want to let you know that we do need your support. Please consider supporting us. Times are tough here at the Carm Intergalactic Headquarters. Won't get into too much.
It's just there's a lot of responsibilities that we have. Summer is often difficult. And so if you'd be so kind as to uh well, we'll you ask, it's just ten dollars a month. Um recurring donation. That helps us establish budgets.
We know it's coming in and it's not that much, but it really does help us out. We're trying to get a thousand people who can do that. And if we can, we should be able to make our bills. We've had a lot of different ways of things coming in and people helping. And uh you know it slowly uh it slowly has decayed.
Uh or fallen away. That's just how it is sometimes. And a lot of ministries are in the same boat.
So if you think karm is worth it, And you like the Carm Radio Show? You know, Matchlick Live Radio Show, you like it, then please consider supporting us. Just go to carm.org forward slash donate. And uh That'll be good. Good.
Carpo put forward slash donate. All right.
Oh well.
Okay, let's see. Um Let's see, let's see, I'm kinda scanning through some stuff. Uh How about uh What's the significance of the third city of Sardis? in the book of Revelation. Oh hmm.
Well, what we'd have to do is go there. And take a look and see what the scriptures say about it.
So I'm going to do is go to the Bible. There we go. Come on, Revelation. Oh, wrong, wrong. window hold on Here we go.
There we are, Revelation 2. Type in Sardis. And um Message to Sardis, the angel of the church of Sardis, write, He who is the seven spirits, I know your deeds. Your name, name that you are alive, but you are dead. Wake up and strengthen the things that remain.
Now, the question, let's see. What was the significance about this sidious artist? the significance. I'm not sure what that means. What was the reason for it?
Repent, therefore, if you do not wake up, come like a thief, and you'll not know at what hour. that come to you. But you have chosen. We have a few people in this artist who have not soiled their garments. They will walk with me in white.
That is uh a symbolism uh for purity. He was overcome with will thus be clothed in white garments, and not erase his name from the Book of Life. Isn't there? What the question is about.
So it's kind of hard sometimes if they're not really specific in the questions. And I'm not exactly sure.
So What it will do is just get two Another uh email. Get another email. Let me look I'm turning my head, which is why the Voice sounds a little bit different when I do that, during my head here. away from the microphone, looking at her monitor. Um Are there apostles and prophets in the 21st century?
That would depend on definitions.
So, if we want to say, let's just say someone says yes, there are. then they would need to establish From scripture what they think an apostle and a prophet is for today.
So If they want to say that, if they want to say that there's probably some prophets. We do know in 1 Corinthians 13 that there are prophets in the sense that prophets in the church, those who prophesy. But there's no more prophets in the sense of the Old Testament that would make prophetic utterances and write scripture and were the office of the prophet that God had ordained. But there are people today who can, I believe, according to the Spirit of God, utter a prophecy or two or three, they can do that kind of a thing. And it comes to pass.
Does that make him a prophet? No, I would just say that a prophecy has been offered. When you go to 1 Corinthians 13, I mean, it's going to be 14. I can do it right now. 1 Corinthians 14 and type in the word prophet.
And the top of it says, Let two or three prophets speak, let the others pass judgment. But if a relation is made to another who's seated, the first one must be kept silent.
So for all You can all prophesy one by one, so that you all may learn and all may be exhorted. and the spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets.
Now let's 1 Corinthians 14 29 through 32, and it's a difficult section of scripture to interpret. It just is, and you can see why. There's a lot of interesting stuff in there.
So it says uh That two or three prophets speak, and then it says you can all prophesy.
Now, does it mean all, as in all of those who are prophets? In the New Testament biblical sense of 1 Corinthians 14. Or is it saying that all people in the church can prophesy?
Well, it's a say, if it means prophecy. as in predicting the future. That would be Interesting, and I don't think it's what it means. I think what's going on is it's talking about an utterance. That is from the Lord.
That is simply a truth.
Now I'm being very vague here. Because it's difficult to ascertain exactly what it is.
Now, I don't have logistically and theologically, I don't have a problem either way. With all of the charismatic gifts working today. I know that there are Christians out there who say that they've all ceased, there's just none. And I just totally disagree. I'd be glad to debate it in a formal debate.
If they're interested, not in a I'm going to get you and prove you wrong attitude, but in more of a sense of. counterpoint for so that Christians can hear both sides. I'm firmly convinced biblically that all the charismatic gifts are for today.
However, That's not to say That they are to be used the way these wackos in various churches misapply, misappropriate, or. misrepresent them. I think there's people who are charlatans who think that they know stuff and, you know, like So-and-so, the prophet so-and-so, the apostle so-and-so will be in church today, you know, all this kind of stuff I disagree with. I think what's really happening is that in 1 Corinthians 14, The charismatic gifts are for the edification of the body of Christ and glory. God.
That's how they should be judged. That's how they should be measured. and that would give us a lot of conversations to Yeah. Hey, we have nobody waiting. If you want to give me a call, 877.
Two zero seven. 2276. We'll be right back. Please stay tuned. It's Matt Slick Live, taking a call at 877-207-2276.
Here's Matt Slick. All right, everyone, welcome back to the show. If you want to give me a call, you can. 877202. Yeah, yeah.
two two seven six. Uh here's where the emails uh It says let's see the tomb Uh in one gospel It says that there's one man, another says two. John only mentions one woman. Why the inconsistency? The reason is because of the emphasis, the selective emphasis.
that each writer is uh using in order to convey Uh the information needs to be there.
So One of the things I will say to people is when you have two people, there's at least one there. Though some might emphasize the individual who was there. where another person might emphasize a number of people with their So let's just say That uh President Trump. shows up here in my city. And he goes to a public place.
and there's three people with him on the stage. And we have a Two reporters who say he and two others went up on the stage. And another says Trump was on the stage talking. But why the discrepancy? It's not really a discrepancy, it's just an emphasis for purpose.
of what you're communicating. That's the kind of thing Uh that's going on. And uh that's it.
Okay. All right, let's go to Charlie from North Carolina. Charlie, welcome. Uh you're on the air. Hey man, what's up man?
Doing radio. Uh I hear you. If um If Adam had not Taking the fruit. when you got when Eve did, would sin have not enter the world. We could say yes to the mm-hmm.
No, it's hypothetical. No. If he hadn't, since he was the representative of mankind, then it would not have entered through him if he never sinned.
Now, here's the question: What about somebody else afterwards, one of his sons? Right. If one of them ate, then would that sin enter the world through any one of them? And we could make a case, yes and no. We could make the case, yes, well, he was a sinner, he's in the world.
But we can make a case no because Adam is the ultimate federal head of mankind. And that his representation is the issue. And so it's a difficult question to answer. There are different rabbit holes we can. Try it.
Chase it down. and come up with different sub-answers of that as well. It's a good question, but uh if I were to break it down, I would say uh It's a Not a big deal. Just probably not have entered through anyone else. It did enter through him.
He's representative in that. That's it.
Okay. 'Kay. Yeah, I was just wondering. I knew it was hypothetical. My son came up with it, and I thought I'd call in and ask.
Your thoughts about that. Yeah, that's a good idea. I appreciate it, man.
Okay. Alright, man, sounds good.
Now we're good one. All right, God bless. God bless.
Okay, you too. Yeah, and if you want to give me a call, 877-207-2276.
Alright, now um So Here's a good question. Who determines the canon of Scripture? And uh There's two questions in this one thing. And what is inspired by the Holy Spirit? The scriptures are what are inspired by the Holy Spirit.
Well, that's kind of redundant. But what we would say is that Whatever is inspired. by the Lord to be written. That is scripture. Scripture deals with the graphé, with writing.
Graphics.
Now Let's just say hypothetically. that the Holy Spirit moved through a person and gave him or her A word of knowledge about somebody else, something that the person would not know normally. and spoke into the into a Christian's heart. this, this, that, that. And the person, the Christian said it to that other person.
And that person was just How did you know that? Let's just say that that's what a word of knowledge is. And go with it. Does that mean then that it needs to be ins uh inscripturated because it's inspired. The answer is no.
This is one of the arguments that people who are critics of. Continuationism and the charismatic gifts. They'll say, Well, anything that comes from the Lord is inspired, needs to be inscripturated if it comes from Him. And I say, No, that's not the case. Because in 1 Corinthians 14, when people are having words of knowledge, words of wisdom, it was not in Scripturated.
And so that proves that that argument is just false.
So What we can say is, there is an intention of God to have certain things written through the apostles. and the amanuensis of the apostles in the New Testament. And those are the things that were intended to be scri scripture.
Now the question then becomes Who determines what the canon of Scripture is? And the answer is very simple. God does. We recognize What it is. See, who determines that Jesus is the shepherd?
Do we do that by acknowledging him? And deciding? Of course not. He's a shepherd because that's his nature. That's what he does.
And the sheep recognize the shepherd. They recognize the voice of the true shepherd. We recognize the voice of God in the scriptures, in the inspired scriptures.
So Well, we say who determines the canon of scripture. We say God does, and the church simply puts its A stamp of recognition on it, not approval, as though the church approves it, now it's authentic, and now it's good. No, no, no. but it's a stamp of recognition. We recognize this is from him.
They are not recognizing it by an inherent authority that's given to them by the laying on of hands in some church ecclesiastical structure with people who have a lot of robes and smells and bells. That's not what's going on.
So the Church, God determines what the scripture is, the church recognizes it. That's just how it should be. The church recognizes the canon, does not create it. One of the things I will bring up to people is: I'll go to here, I'm going to read it, Romans 3:2. Catholics and these Orthodox in their pride.
I just I just recognize pride. They um They will say that our church gave you the Bible. It's just ridiculous. And I say, okay, so the Old Testament is 75% of the Bible. Great in every respect, Romans 3:2, great in every respect, first of all, that they, the Jews, were entrusted with the oracles of God.
So the Jews are the ones who are entrusted with 75% of Written word, the inspired word. That's not the Catholic or the Eastern Orthodox Church. It's like saying that uh someone gives us a car. And Pays for it, buys it, gives it a car. And someone else comes along and then paints the car and then.
pays for wheels for it and then says, I'm the one who gave you the car. No, you didn't.
Well, I gave you this much of it, so therefore I gave you the whole thing. That's the kind of fallacious logic. That the East Orthodox and Roman Catholic churches are using them in their adherents. Why is that? Because they're more loyal to their churches than they are to Jesus.
It's just that simple. And it's two ways I prove this. One of them is with the issue of praying to Jesus. He's God in flesh. If you pray to him, and.
Excuse me, if you pray to him and you ask him to forgive you of all of your sins, will he do that? And the answer, of course, yes.
Well then why do you need your priesthood? And this is a test question set that I give to people. And then, what they do is they start talking about how they need the priesthood. Pray to the priest and the true church that has the authority. I say, why don't you just go to Jesus?
That's what Jesus said to do. Where's this going to a priest in the New Testament? It's not there. But that's what they say. And then I say, the priesthood in your churches has an altar, a special garments.
Special practices, special authority, and offer sacrifices on a regular basis. That's Old Testament law. It's not New Testament.
So that's another way I show that these churches are false. And then what happens is, instead of someone saying, that's an interesting point. I've got to check the word of God with that. They don't do that. Roman Catholics and the EO, Eastern Orthodox, the RC and the EO.
They don't do that. I've never had them say, I'm going to look at scripture for that. What they do is they say, no, our church is true, and we had to submit to the authority of God's church, and that's why we have a priesthood. And as far as I'm concerned, they're just uh manifesting their unbelief. And uh Lack of dedication and trust to the Savior Jesus Christ.
And then when I say that to them, oh man. They don't like that. They think I'm very judgmental, and I say, No, no, I'm just informing you that the scriptures are there for the. of the body of Christ. And the pastors and the teachers.
are therefore the work of the ministry. And um Jesus points at the scriptures, Paul does, Peter does, and that the scriptures are said to be the final authority on earth for us. And also uh that are inspired. Your traditions are not. Your churches are not inspired.
And then they claim inspiration. It goes on and on and on. I had to deal with this. A lot. All right, so.
Now let me get to another one. How about if I get to Let's see. This one says thank you. Uh that's it. I mean in the primary sense of the atonement fr what?
Okay, I don't know if this is What's going on here? If you do some fasting for the conversion of sinners, this may succeed, but only because of the efficacy. I don't know what this person's getting at.
So. Uh I just w you know, want questions. And we have about three minutes in the show. My Christian friend has asked for my counsel. He was seriously.
injured in a negligent by a negligent driver. Do Matthew 5 and 6 and Luke 6 mean he should not sue. Oh wow. You know, I can't give legal advice and things like that. But the Bible talks about not suing.
between believers. Uh so that we don't look bad or make the word of Chr the Word of God or Christ Himself look bad.
Now Let's just say that someone a negligent driver and you're laid up, you lose your job, you've got hundreds of thousands of dollars in medical bills, and now you're just in dire straits.
Well, that's what insurance is there for. And if you have to bring a lawsuit, in my opinion, it's my opinion, a lawsuit to bear. In order to hold the offending party responsible for their actions so that you could be taken care of. and your family, then I don't have a problem with that.
So I was just saying it just depends on some circumstances and things, but we do have the ability to be able to bring legal work to bear, and we ought to do that when necessary. In fact, I'm of the opinion that Christians ought to be some of the bejeebers out of leftists. And shut them up because they will sue Christians all over the place and try and shut them up. I say. Turn about to fair play.
Let's go. That's what I say. That's just me. Uh that's just me. Kind of loot streperous.
Alright, we got one minute in the show, and I just want to say, hey, Monday, I'll not be on the air. It's a holiday. I'll be back on live Tuesday, Lord willing.
