And what I'm going to do is I'm going to get to some emails because we haven't had any callers yet, which is sometimes the case on Friday. And uh we'll just get to uh we'll just get to what the Bible I mean, we'll get s I'm just reading the hit already.
We'll get to some questions here. All right.
So let's get to the first one that I have listed. And it came in today. Oh, interesting. Um Where is the biblical support for Catholics going to hell? Wow.
Uh good question. Um i it's not the issue of Catholics going to hell, it's the issue of the Roman Catholic Church preaching a false gospel. And anyone who believes in official Roman Catholic theology regarding salvation and their idolatrous practice of worshiping and serving Mary and things like that cannot be true Christians and will be damned. That's what I believe, that's what I teach, that's what I'll defend. I do not believe the Catholic Church is a Christian church.
I do not believe that it is godly. I do not believe that it serves the Lord. I believe it's I I believe personally, it's my opinion. That are demonic forces in the Vatican that are whispering whatever into their servants there in the Vatican. And they disseminate false doctrines.
The reason I say that Is because they teach false doctrines. Maybe I'll have to get into this because it's one of the questions that was dealing with. But let me get to, I believe, a 2 Timothy. Uh 4 Verse 3: It says, For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance with their own desires. and will turn away their ears from the truth, and they will turn aside the myths.
Now This is really important.
So let me just tell you this. I regularly battle against the false teachers and the false adherents and promoters of Eastern Orthodoxy and Roman Catholicism. I do this on a regular basis to keep myself sharp, to make sure that I understand what they're actually teaching. Yeah. What I've discovered over the years of doing this is that they are ecclesiologists.
What that means is they serve their church, they're loyal to their church. Their church is above everything else because their church is the true church. Their church is the way, the truth, and the life. Their church has the priesthood. Their church has the Eucharist.
Their church has authority. Blah, blah, blah. Their church gave us the Bible. Their church, you know. And this is a form of idolatry because they're giving to the church, their particular church, the attributes and position that belong to God alone.
So, what they're doing is not submitting to the scriptures.
So, I'll very frequently meet them online and have discussions. And one of the ways I demonstrate that they are false. is to Is to just simply ask him some questions, basic questions. I'll say, look, Is Jesus God in flesh? And they'll say yes.
Okay. Does Jesus have all authority in heaven and earth? Yes, he does, because Matthew 28, 18 through 20 says so. And does Jesus say, ask me anything in my name and I will do it? John 14:14, they say, Yes.
Does Jesus forgive sins? Yeah, yes he does. Luke 5, 27, 48. I think of the verses.
So he forgives sins, has all authority in heaven and earth, and he says, Come to me, all who are heavy laden, I will give you rest. Matthew 11:28.
So. I ask them, I say, Look, let me ask you a question here I say, um If you were to pray sincerely, you really were sincere and you really meant it, and you were to pray to Jesus and ask Jesus to forgive you of all of your sins. And you're repentant, and you're trusting in Christ. Will he forgive you of all your sins? Most of the answers I get are no, because you have to go through the Catholic Church or the East Orthodox priesthood.
And so this is a proof. that many people Are indoctrinated into false gospels, false doctrines, false teachings, and that's one of the ways of showing it.
Sometimes, however, They will answer in the affirmative, and I'll ask them.
So, if you were to go to Jesus and ask him. For real and sincerely, to forgive you of all of your sins, will he do it? And some have said yes.
Well, if he's they say yes, and I say then you don't need a priesthood, do you? Because you can go straight to Christ, who is the one priest after the order of Melchizedek, Hebrews 6:20, Hebrews 7:25. And then what they do then Is say, well, God set up the church. We've got to go to the church. We've got to go to the priest.
And I say but you Don't you understand what you just said? You can go straight to Jesus, which is what Jesus said to do. He said to go to him. He said to do this. He forgives sins.
And yet, what you'll do is you'll bypass Christ and go to your church as though your church has all authority in heaven and earth. And You know, and then they just argue with me about how, well, God set up his church and that's the means of grace and blah, blah, blah. And this is just a sign of their indoctrination, uh their brainwashing and their believing in the false gospel and a false church and false everything.
So, the Roman Catholic, since the question was about Roman Catholicism, in paragraph 2068 of the Catechism of the Catholic Church. It says that uh That the Catholic attains, and it actually uses the word attains salvation. by faith baptism and the observance of the commandments.
So By that, they are just denying salvation by grace alone through faith alone, in Christ alone. And Romans 4:5 says that the one who does not work but believes in him who justifies the ungodly, his faith has credited his righteousness. The one who does not work, does not work, says the one who does not work, but believes. And the logic I'll tell them is: I'll say, Look, if you have two things in a bag, an apple and an orange, Faith in works, an apple and an orange. And you take the orange out.
Is the apple alone? And they don't want to answer the question because they understand the logic and they see the problem it would present for their church worship pattern. And I have to go over and over with them, and I'll say, look, is that what it teaches?
Okay. Is it the apple alone? And finally, they'll say yes. I'll say, well, then if the winner does not work but believes. In him who justifies in God.
He said, That's uh, is that faith alone? They say, No. But Paul said two things, removed one, that means the others by itself. This is the indoctrination of false religious systems. And so, as I said, paragraph 2068 says they attain salvation by faith, baptism, and the observance of the commandments.
And paragraph 2036 and paragraph 2070 in the Catechism of the Catholic Church says that you must necessary to keep the precepts of the natural law, and that the precepts of the natural law are reflected in the Ten Commandments.
So basically, they're saying you have to keep the Ten Commandments to be saved.
So they're back under the law. And further, Mormons say one more thing. They have a false priesthood because their priesthood It's an Old Testament-style priesthood where they offer sacrifices of the Mass over and over. It's a propitiatory sacrifice that removes sin. It's a representation of a sacrifice over and over and over again.
And so they have a priesthood that offers this sacrifice.
Well, the priesthood that offers sacrifices is in the Old Testament. There is no New Testament priesthood like this. It's not there.
Now Jesus is the high priest after the order of Melchizedek, Hebrews 6.20, Hebrews 7.25. And we are kings and priests. I think it's. Let me see if I can find that verse really fast. First.
Is it 1 Peter 2.7? Let me see. Uh And maybe it's, I'll find it. It's a priesthood of all believers. And it might be, yeah, there we go.
It's 1 Peter 2:9. You are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God's own possession.
So A royal priesthood. That's what we are. We are a royal priesthood. That means everybody, not just an exceptional class who wears nice garments and doesn't get married and has to offer repeated sacrifices for the cleansing of sin. Old Testament stuff.
And so the Roman Catholic Church, it teaches all this stuff, teaches the false gospel because it adds works to salvation. Paragraph 2068. Paragraph twenty seventy, twenty thirty six. And has a false priesthood because her priesthood is not found in the Bible. It's not found not in the New Testament covenant.
Not at all. And. They uh They teach idolatry and um Oh idolatry. Uh church their service of the Church, but mainly in their adoration and faith of Mary. Because they basically attribute to her characteristics of God.
She can hear millions of prayers simultaneously spoken and thought all over the world and comprehend them. And she knows the intentions of the heart so she can answer them. These are god-like characteristics.
So she's a functioning goddess in Roman Catholicism.
So they have made idols that the Bible says, do not do. Do it. Think it's Leviticus 26, verse 1: You shall not make for yourselves idols, nor shall you set up for yourselves an image or a sacred pillar, nor shall you place a figurestone in your land to bow down to them. They'd have to do that, and also Exodus. 6, excuse me, Exodus 20, verses 4 and 5: You shall not make for yourself an idol.
Or any likeness of what is in heaven above, or on the earth beneath, or in the water under the earth. You shall not worship them or serve them. I am the Lord your God, the jealous God, etc.
So they build for themselves idols, statues, bow before them in their church services, pray to Mary and the saints, giving them the attributions and characteristics of God, being able to hear millions of prayers simultaneously spoken and thought different languages all over the world. They have a false priesthood, they have a false gospel.
So anyone who believes. the official teaching of the Roman Catholic Church in the Gospel? Their priesthood? And their idolatrous practice of praying to the saints and serving them and things like that. They are idolaters and they are workers of iniquity and they cannot be saved.
That's not to say. That there aren't true Christians in the Catholic Church. I'm not saying everybody who's a Catholic is unsaved. I'm simply saying that, excuse me. I'm simply saying that if uh they believe official Roman Catholic theology, they're not Christian.
They're on the way to hell. I'm sorry, but that's just it. That's what it is. These are hard words, but they're true words. And I pray that people will come out of the false doctrine and the false church of Roman Catholicism and come to faith in the simplicity of the gospel.
that you trust in Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. Yeah. Receive him by faith, Romans 1.12. Be justified by faith, Romans 3.28. Romans 4.5.
Romans 5.1. Just trust in Christ. And he will cleanse you of all of your sins. Ask Him to forgive you of all of your sins, and He will. Because he is good.
He doesn't put a burden upon you. of rules and reg regulations and confession boxes and priests you have to bow before statues you got to bow before and eucharists you got to take over and over for repeated cleansing of your sins, all by the instrumentation and the bondage found in the Roman Catholic Church. Stay away from it. and come to Christ and believe in Christ Jesus. He alone is the Saviour.
All right.
Hey, we're about due for a break.
So let's see, we can get a Jermaine really fast. See how long we've got before the break here. Hey, Jermaine, welcome. You're on the air. Hey, Matt, I uh Today, I wanted to ask you about the Ten Commandments because a lot of people are.
trying to bring up old school Levitical law on uh how we should be treating, you know, people who are here illegally. And that just was fun. We got a break.
Okay, let's talk about that, okay? Let's talk about that. And folks, we'll be right back after these messages. Jermaine almost always has really good questions. And he's a pretty good guy.
Hope we get to meet someday. Maybe right back after. These messages please speak to them. It's Matt Slick Live, taking your call at 877-207-2276. Here's Matt Slick.
Alright everybody, welcome back to the show. If you want to give me a call, it is easy. Pick up your phone and dial, or we dial, it tells you how old I am. Hit the buttons and just put in the number 2084. Wait a second.
That's my cell number. Hold on a sec. 877-207-2276. That was a close one. Let's get back to Jermaine.
Jermaine, welcome. You are on the air. Mm-hmm. All right.
Yeah, so um As I was saying, just uh you know, a lot of people have taken this recent issue hardener. I know a lot of emotions are high, but I keep seeing people bring up things like Deuteronomy, Exodus, Leviticus. And consulting the old law and trying to apply that to how we treat I guess what we would call foreigners. Uh-huh. And I don't believe it's fully applicable because I think that our country treats foreigners very well.
That doesn't mean we get to stay illegally, but you know, they're not executed or anything or or mistreated as far as I can see.
So How do we apply the Old Testament law? Because some people still seem to want to refer to it. in uh in our data fives. Uh Yes. All right.
So, context is everything. And in the Old Testament, they were under a theocratic system where God was ruling through the prophets. And the they they definitely had rules for people coming in. When a stranger resides, like in Leviticus 19, if he resides in your land, you shall do him no wrong. The stranger who resides with you shall be to you as the native of your of your land.
you shall love him as yourself. And uh we can go to Deuteronomy ten. Uh in Exodus twelve talks about applying the same law. It also says in Numbers fifteen that foreigners could offer sacrifices. You the aliens could sojourn with them.
But it also says to protect the helpless and the weak in Psalm 82, vindicate the weak and the fatherless. And it says in Romans 13, 1 through 2, it talks about. subjecting yourself to the government. Yeah. So okay, now laying a bunch of stuff out there.
So If someone wants to use the Old Testament law. and say this is how we're to treat people. You say, well, the covenant of Israel with God was in effect and the rules applied to covenant Israel. And That's what the context was. And so, when someone came in, they were allowed to come in in the land because it was according to the law.
that was given. Because the law was given.
So, what these people want to do is, they're not realizing it, is they are. they are citing Old Testament law. And they want the law.
Okay, and then they want to Ignore the other areas of the law, which says to protect the innocent, for example, or Romans 13. Which says to subject yourself to the government.
Now, As we've heard over the news, I've been paying more and more attention to all of this: that the illegal aliens. That's what it used to be called. They call them illegal immigrants now. I call them illegal aliens. That's what it was back in the 70s, 80s.
So when they come into the land, they're breaking the law. Mm. It's not the same as the Old Testament law. They would come in because that law allowed certain people to come in. But they had a method for doing that as well.
I need to research that and write an article on this. And so if they were to be violent and and do stuff, they were to be expelled. Because they were not to practice idolatrous or abominable practices.
Okay, so if someone comes into the land, Leviticus 20 talks about this, and they're offering sacrifices to pagans, they're to be killed. It'll be gotten rid of.
So, the people who say these things, what they're doing is hopscotching through the Old Testament, picking out what they want in order to justify their feelings. If you want to have someone come into our country, as Romans 13 says, subject yourself to the. the government. The government says do it legally.
So, what they're saying is, they don't want to subject themselves to the government. They want to subject themselves or have people subjected to the law of God. But the law of God that they want is not the law of God that's applicable today under the new covenant. what they want. is an inconsistency.
They want So let people come in illegally. not filter out or vet the murderers. the abusers. I don't want to say certain things because there's children listening. and they don't care about them, just let them in.
And so, when people say we're done with all of this. They want to get rid of them.
Now people s inconsistently cite por portions of the Old Testament.
Now let me just tell you, puedo bar español porque yo vide en yo vivis vide en uh San Diego, much of Sanjeez Posado. But in this article, you offer to it in the Uspitan.
So I used to live in San Diego. It was necessary to learn Spanish to be able to work in a hospital. And I was able to register people in as a Okay. In San Diego, we were San Diego is just north of the border of Tijuana. And I'm gonna just tell you, we're overrun.
With Hispanics.
Now, I'm not blaming them. I mean, they want a better life. I get that. Come into the country legally. Are my car was it was broken into?
My wife's car was stolen. And I was in seminary. My my window is broke or the window's broken or the The car the door was open, and they crowbarred, literally crowbarred, the dash of my car to get the radio out. And once I was coming out of a just give an example of this, I was coming out of a driveway very, very carefully because we're niños. uh Ugando, the kids playing.
And uh this one kid came out of nowhere on his bike and I bumped into him on with a with a fender of the car and knocked him off his bike and got out and uh he didn't speak English and the mom came out and didn't speak English. And I'm telling her, you know, just it's okay, he's okay, but you know, he's you might want to go to the hospital and she panicked. No, no, pedo acerlo can't do that. And uh because they're illegals.
So Where do we draw the line? People want what they want is for us to learn their language, learn their culture while they're coming into our country. and not get rid of the people who are evil. And let them come in. And when that happens, I have a question.
Why is it That they wave the Mexican flag, will be here for eight, ten, fifteen years, don't speak English. And they want to come into our great country. and learn they need to participate and need to acclimate. If I were to go to Mexico, I'd have to learn the language even better than I I know now. Por que quio parcar percar in Español.
I want to preach in Spanish, but I don't know the language sufficiently.
So I would go there. I would not say, you need to counter change your culture and your rules and your signage so that I can understand it. I'm going to go there and I'm going to learn the language no matter what country I go to. That's not how they work, generally speaking. And so it bring that kind of up plus it brings what's called the culture of poverty.
And they're just raised this way. It's called the culture of poverty. It's a sociological phenomenon that people are integrated into a certain mindset and they don't. Know how to get out of it. I'm not blaming them, I'm not mocking, I'm not condemning them.
It's just a difficult thing. They need to acclimate into the host society and get educated and learn the language and prosper. No problem. But a lot of them don't want to do that.
Now, all of this stuff I'm telling you about, through my own experience. From working down there, having to communicate with a lot of people down there in San Diego and stuff, and that's fine, in Orange County, and LA and Riverside and all the stuff in Southern California. And so I have seen firsthand, I was at it for 30, 40 years, I forgot. How much? Whatever it was.
And I've seen what the open border kind of concept does, and it causes chaos, it causes problems. And what we're seeing here is an inconsistency of these self-righteous people who say, let amen, the Old Testament wants that. Not necessarily, we've got a break, so please hold on, be right back after. These messages, please stay tuned. It's Matt Slick Live, taking a call at 877-207-2276.
Here's Matt Slick. All right, welcome back. Back to the show, Jermaine. Before you comment, I've got one thing to add for you. If they say this, say, okay, foreigners come into the land, the law of the Old Testament is if they blaspheme, they're to be killed.
Leviticus 24, 10 through 16, Leviticus 24. They're to be killed. Death to those who sacrifice to false gods. And that's death. That's Leviticus 20.
So, how much of the Old Testament law do they want to appeal to? Anyway, okay. Yeah, I think that was very good. That was very thorough. And the reality is, I've been overseas to different countries, and I know what it's like to be.
In a foreign land. And I do feel for people. And I think you and any true believer does. We're not. you know, taking on patriotism as a as a sort of false idol is just The reality is there were some people who got caught.
It's like a game to me. I I'm not here to bother anyone, but if if you are illegal and you've done crime and they catch you, you're typically you pay the price for that. And Thank God it is America where they're not going to do horrible things to you. They're just going to boot you out. I know Preco will probably jump the border back over, but.
I think it's a very fair system. And what you said was one hundred percent truth. I'm sure.
Some people might misinterpret it, but it's just reality. If you come from countries where you're not Used to stuff, and you have to learn different ways of trying to prosper, it is falling to you. It's going to be a difficult time for you. That's right. Yeah, I I appreciate the way you answered that and Again, we're all believers.
We don't hate anybody. It's just. If I go over the speed limit, I can't complain once I get a ticket, which I've done willingly many times to make it to a class.
So I get it. That's right. Yeah, I'm not against uh Uh Hispanics coming in. I like the culture. I have a good friend down there in Southern California.
I go, I spend the time with him. And he's a good, godly man. But just come in legally, that's all. Just do it legally. And we need to get rid of the people who are threats.
And if we don't have our borders secure, We don't have a country, we'll be invaded. And this is what the fools don't understand. If you just open up the borders to be invaded, you'll lose your country. That's just how it works. And they're too stupid.
To know this, they are short-sighted, and a little bit of leaven leavens the whole loaf.
So, you've got to be careful and just have them come in. Legally, no problem. Come on in, welcome. You know, no problem at all. And that's it.
Just do it legally. And the people who've invaded we've been invaded. Because the Democrat, or some call them demoncrats, I use Democrats as a butt of the joke when people talk to me about, well, how do you know when demonic activity is around? I'll say, just talk to Democrats. I mean, I say things like that because they're evil.
The Democratic Party is evil. It's the party that founded the KKK. It's the party that is pro-homosexuality, LGBTQ, the alphabet mob. It's the pro-socialist movement. They're the ones who are against the laws to free the blacks.
In the 1800s, they were the ones who voted against laws, I don't know, there's a certain group of laws, to get rid of some of the prejudices that were still around in the 50s and 60s with the black community. They fought against it. People don't know this stuff. And uh they're they're the ones also who uh promote killing of the unborn. There's an ungodly, ungodly group.
And they're the ones who are behind the open the borders, open this. Man, I'll tell you. Uh you know, as far as I'm concerned and here's an ar you know, This irks me. Which political party of the United States would the Antichrist belong to? The Democrat Party.
Wouldn't belong to the Republic. I'm not a Republican either. But I'm a constitutionalist.
So we live in a constitutional republic, not a democracy. People don't know that. They should stop saying democracy.
So many things irk me. But I wrote an article. I did research on the Antichrist, and he most probably will be pro-homosexual. He will be socialistic and in control. He.
will uh be a blasphemer. And he'll be a hater of God, so he'll work against the Christian faith. He'll work to promote death because he's going to kill.
So abortion is right there in his back pocket.
So if anything, the political party of the Antichrist would willingly join or lead would be a Democratic Party.
So you can tell I don't have any uh respect for the Democratic Party and not much more for the Republican Party.
So Right. You know, I I will say this, Matt, before I leave. Um, a Hispanic man actually made a comment. Who's against illegal immigration? Because there are a lot who are against it.
He said, you know, it's an analogy of if you met a theme park. You've waited hours and hours to get into the line. or you're waiting in line to get on the ride and then all of a sudden somebody cuts you. And you're supposed to just take it. That's kind of what.
The legal immigrants are looking at the illegal immigrants, that's how they view it. It's like you're just trying to cut in line. And no one's against you, but you do have to await your turn. And again, I think you're treated very humanely here in America. I should thank God for it.
That's right. And uh i th if we continue to be invaded and our borders are compromised, and our language and our culture are compromised, our nation will fall. And this is ultimately the desire of the enemy because the Christian. People here in America do pray and do support missionaries. Carm, for example.
We support two missionaries in Africa and two missionaries in Southern South America. And we do that financially, you know, because we're able to. They can't do it. They can't even support themselves. And so we're helping them, and they're great people.
So we're able to, you know, if the enemy, and that's just a representation of many things, and the enemy could destroy America. then Communism, Socialism, and the Democratic Party will take over and institute the tolerance laws. The tolerance laws are you are only allowed to be tolerant of what we tell you to be tolerant of. Because if you're not tolerant of what we are tolerant of, then you're a bigot. But that's exactly what their bigotry is: they're hypocrites, and hypocrisy is a form of lying.
Yeah. Yeah, you can tell I don't like this stuff.
Okay. All right, Matt. Thank you very much. Have a good weekend. And I will be emailing you this weekend.
So maybe you look out for that. And you have pleasure. Appreciate you. You better, if I ever hear you came to Idaho and didn't stop by and see me, then we're going to have a talk.
Okay? Right, well, I'll send you the email first. It sounds good, brother. All right.
All right, God bless you all. God bless you too. All right.
Yeah, I know I'm saying a lot of strong stuff, but someone's got to say it. We Christians need to stick together, need to stand on the truth of God's word. Don't compromise your faith and don't compromise truth for the sake of simplicity. or convenience or emotional satisfaction. Stick to God's word.
and preachers and teachers in the pulpits need to talk like this too. Let's get to Steve from Utah. Steve Welcome, you're on the air. Hello, Matt. How are you today?
Oh little uppity, a little you know. I guess a little. No, you're doing all right. I like the last comment. Start I I wanted to kind of follow up a little bit on the on the Levitical law, like your last guy.
Um I got a question that These people that were born and lived in the times before Christ, Did the Levitical law and the sacrifices and all the Things that they did that to me kind of were a little demented in some ways. Um Did that save these people, or are they? saved and can they be saved by the laws that they uh supposedly we're trying to follow.
Well, here's a tough question because it says in Leviticus, no, excuse me. Romans 14.3, which is a quote from Genesis 15.6, Abraham believed God, it was credited to him as righteousness.
So salvation is still by faith.
However, the Old Testament requirements of blood sacrifices were prophetic and typological. pointing to the true Messiah by which sacrifice was necessary so that we could be atoned for, so we could be justified by faith. The Old Testament saints, generally speaking, looked forward to the Messiah. We look back to the Messiah.
So, depending on individuals, what they believe, understood, and trusted in Christ, then they can certainly be justified under the old system. And they would participate in the sacrificial system as part of the requirements of that law. But it was the justification by faith that sustained them, not justification by a sacrificial system, which we know was not ultimately able to cleanse them. Otherwise, Christ would not have needed to come.
So they were acting out prophetically, typologically, the true sacrifice of Christ, proving the necessity of it under the law, which is fulfilled by Christ, so that we can be justified by grace.
Okay. Okay, I gotcha. These people were Justified by faith and not necessarily all the sacrifices. Or they had to be faithful and still had to take participate in the sacrificial system. Yeah.
And they had to do that because God had commanded it, because it was the system that was necessary at that time for what they knew to be able to. Stay in the covenant of God in the covenantal faith home. Hey, hold on, we gotta break it.
Okay, hold on then.
Alright. Hey folks, should we ride that gap for these messages, please? Stay tuned. Right back. It's Matt Slick Live, taking a call at 877-207-2276.
Here's Matt Slick. Oh right, everybody, welcome back to the show. You know, I was just working on something and listened to the announcer say, welcome to Matt Slick live, and it struck me. Let's What a name. All right, let's get back to uh Steve from Utah.
All right, Steve. Yeah, so it just uh kind of finish up a little bit. Um I've read Leviticus a couple of times, and if somebody was to pick up the Bible and read Leviticus for the first time, Just The things that are done, the way they remove the organs and they sprinkled blood all over the place.
Okay. It sounds Pretty. dark and demented to me. And I I just You almost have to have a real strong stomach to read it. And if somebody was to read that as the first book they read in the Bible.
It seems like they would They would probably get turned off by it.
Well, let me explain something about the book of Leviticus here, because it might be worth.
something for you to to to understand. It might be helpful.
Now you know the Bible's inspired, right? Right.
Okay. So, besides the prophecies and things like that, In Genesis. when you find the first letter. Tough. Uh four letters tall.
You count forty-nine letters of off. Uh Yotte Vafe, excuse me, Yotte Vafe.
Sorry, anyway. In Genesis, you find Here we go.
Okay, I got it now. I've got my information.
So the first The word Torah in Hebrew. is law. The word for law in Hebrew is Torah, Torah.
So when you go to Genesis and you find the first letter of the word law, Torah, you count forty nine letters, you find the second letter, forty nine letters, you find the third, etcetera, until you get all the letters. It's really interesting. 49 letters exactly with Genesis. The same thing exactly works in Leviticus. I mean, in Leviticus, but in Exodus.
We're going to skip Leviticus for a minute. And it works the same in Numbers and Deuteronomy. except in reverse.
So, Genesis Exodus, just go from left to right.
Now, imagine this. Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, Deuteronomy. Genesis and Exodus, every 49 letters, when you first find the first letter of the word law, count 49 letters. In Genesis and Exodus, it spells out the word law. If we skip look at it, go to Numbers and Deuteronomy, the exact same thing happens, except it's in reverse.
So what what this means is the law points to Leviticus. And when you go to Leviticus, what you find is. The word Yahweh. F for seven letters. Yose wave.
So with the f you find the first letter of the word Yao Pwe You count seven letters, you find the second, yodhe lavhe. And you get the word Yahweh.
So the law is pointing to the book of Leviticus, the book of blood. Why? Because Sin brings blood. Death. It brings pain, it brings suffering.
And so God understands. that as he himself would go to the cross. and be beaten. spit on. Whipped.
With catonine tails that would rip his back open and expose his muscle and probably even skeletal bones to the air. to be mocked and derided. then led to the cross where he would collapse carrying the heavy cross piece. and they get Simon and Cyrene to carry it the rest of the way, then they would puncture his wrists with nails. at his feet.
With nails, with one nail. And they would do this while he's being mocked and suffering. This is a horrible thing to be done to God Himself. The bloodiness, the dirtiness, the horror horror of the Old Testament. sacrifices.
You want to call it barbaric? It's typological of the barbarity that would fall upon the Holy One of God. the Holy One of Israel, the Holy One Jesus. And that it's a prophecy. A type of A representation of who Jesus would be.
That lamb who's innocent. Who was beat, slaughtered, have his beard ripped out of his face, beaten about his face so it wasn't recognizable. And all this stuff in the Old Testament is prophetic. Even the the weird stuff and the hard stuff about these animals. Because these animals don't count as much of anything compared to God Himself on that cross.
So, when we understand that these things are there because they are pointing to Christ. and the barbarity with which the evil and sinful people acted upon him. This is reflected in the early parts. of the New Test of the Old Testament law. That's why it's like that.
That's why it's so bad.
Okay. Okay, I understand. That makes some sense, yes.
So Okay.
Well, yeah, I just wanted to I just wanted to more understand that that book in particular because it is pretty bizarre.
So only Only if you take Christ out of it. But Jesus says in John 5:39, You search the scriptures because in them you think you have eternal life, but it is these that bear witness of me.
So look to Christ and put him there. Why were the animals treated so badly? Because Christ was. Why were they killed? Because Christ was.
What's the purpose of that to have a message? No. That's it.
Well, I got it. I appreciate you clarifying that.
So I'll come up with some other question and call you again sometime.
Sounds good. Hope that helps.
Okay. Yes, it does.
Okay, thank you.
Alright, we're gonna go. All right, let's get to Patrick from North Carolina. Patrick, welcome. You're on the air. Uh hello, Matt.
Um, how you doing? Doing okay, hanging in there. What do you got, Patrick? All right.
Um What my question is, is God sent Abraham to sacrifice his son But why didn't God let him complete the sacrifice? Because it wasn't ordained by God to let him complete the sacrifice, because the sacrifice was a representation of the true sacrifice of. Of Jesus, and Jesus would be resurrected, and Abraham believed that he'd be resurrected, that Isaac would be resurrected.
So it's um Scripture says that God waited till Abraham had the knife to his son's throat, and then he revealed the ram. But I believe that Genesis 22, 1 says, God tested Abraham Would would you would it be fair to say that God tested his faith? by waiting until Abraham had the knife to his son's throat. The testing is not so God learns. The testing is so that we can learn, so that we can verify, so that we can grow.
And that's why it says in James 2:23, it talks about, and Abraham his faith was perfected. Because he's going to trust God. God will often require of us to trust in him and then act upon that trust, even beyond our ability to understand. That's what's going on. What have Abraham literally killed his son with the knife.
If God didn't interfere with the Ram. Yes, most probably, yeah. Because he said the son will return. He said, hold on. He says, the boy, he says, the boy and I will return.
So he knew, because God had promised to Abraham that the seed would go through Isaac.
So he knew that if he killed him, God's going to resurrect him. That was the only logic he had.
So he knew that, He believed him. He acted on that belief. And then God said, Okay.
Well, then what would have happened if Abraham decided, right, Before he was going to cut his son's throat, he decided, oh, I'm not going to sacrifice him because God's going to bring him back. Do you think God would have looked at him the same? Oh, I guess you're suggesting that God would guess and hope that things work out right and be subject to the whims of Abraham? That's interesting why you're saying that.
Well, no, what I'm saying is, Abraham did not know that God was going to reveal the Ram. You're not listening. You're not listening to what I said. I say this kind of thing to people when they ask something or make a statement like you do. I respond to it, and then you just dismiss it and go on to something else.
Look, what you're saying here is what if this? What if that?
Well, it's a counterfactual that God did not ordain to be the reality. And so he ordained this, knowing exactly what would happen, because God knows all things. He's in control of all things. It's not a condition. It's not a condition.
It's like it says in scripture. It's not.
Okay, we're done. It's not a condition. It's not a condition that God would not have known or that it would happen something differently. It doesn't mean we don't have free will, but God, who's the sovereign king of all things, knows how things will be. And if you guys want, sometimes call me up and we'll talk about the issue of God's sovereignty and our human freedom and how they can interact where God is still in control.
He moves the heart of the king where he wishes it to go, Proverbs 21:1. And in Daniel 3. Trot. Where was that? Oh, I just had it in my head.
Oh, man. Where God does what he wants in the host of the earth. God does everything he wants. Anyway, Deuteronomy 3. 25, I think it is a 435.
Wow, 435. Oh man, I got too many verses in my head. And so he is the one in sovereign control, and things happen.
So when people say, well, what if it didn't happen? What would God have done then? It's a non-sequitur. It's like saying, what if the cross had never happened? What would God have done then?
It's like rub my forehead, shake my head slowly, take a deep, calming breath. and then try it again. Let's skip to Pearl. From Virginia Pearl welcome, you're on here. Thank you, sir.
You're familiar, I'm sure, with the Amplified Bible. Yes, uh You look at it with a big magnifying glass to amplify it. I'm going to go to the next one.
Okay, I'm pointing to because I can see we have very little time. Revelation twenty two verse twenty one. Revelation 22, 21. 22 verse 21, the very last verse of the Bible. The grace of the Lord Jesus be with you all.
Amen. Mm-hmm. Grace blessing and favor of the Lord Jesus Christ, the Messiah. Be with all the saints. Yeah, one only one early one early manuscript says the saints.
Just so you know, it's not a big deal, but anyway, uh God's holy people. Those Yeah. Apart. For God. to be as it were ex Collusively.
He is. Amen. I I'm a Calvinist. Wouldn't that undergird being a Calvinist set apart exclusively for God. Actually, that's an interesting point.
I never saw the last verse in the Bible to be used in support of Reformed theology because it says the word all. That's really interesting. One manuscript says I love pinning things back and down like you do. And I think I remember telling you the last time I talked to you that so many people, min ministers, Don't Okay. take and you just said it to your other person that called you.
Um They don't realize when it says Some two twelve. Kiss the sun. Yes. And he burst from the way when his wrath has kindled but a little. And I think I told you how he opened up to me when I asked him what that kiss meant.
You know, I told you, the Holy Spirit of the living God showed me. uh the the brow of the Lord Jesus uh Blooded from those so on each thing. He showed it to me, and oh, I just loved it. Anyway, I just wondered if you would. Could you agree and say that that when it says they would be exclusively his if that wouldn't be an undergirding?
Sorry, we're out of time. I'm sorry. Call back Monday. Let's talk about this, okay?
Well, do you think it would be? I don't know. I've got to go.
Sorry, call back Monday. Have a good weekend, everybody. God bless. We'll talk to you Monday. Another program powered by the Truth Network.
