Men need to understand their role as kingdom citizens, identifying who they are, who they represent, and their spiritual gift to effectively advance the kingdom of God. Developing a consistent relationship with God, being diligent in prayer and Bible reading, and applying daily what they learn are essential for spiritual growth and making a positive impact in their communities.

Welcome to Man Talk. A ministry sponsored by TAWCMM. Talking and Walking Christian Men's Ministry. where we're devoted to breaking down the walls of race and to Denomination and to point men to their God-assigned roles.

Now, here's your hosts, Will Hardy and Roy Jones Jr. Welcome to Man Talk Radio. This is Roy Jones, your co-host. And this is Will Hardy, your other co-host. Will, it's good to see you on Zoom/slash Man Talk Radio podcast.

It's been so long that uh But I forgot what to say.

Well, you know, we're just thankful to God, I think, for. you know, the time that we've had, the individual times and how God is using this portion of the ministry of talking walking Christian men's ministry to put out to man topics that are relevant to them. And how as men They need to formulate their lives to align with the gospel and with the kingdom because We're kingdom men. And if we are kingdom men, and if we are walking according to the kingdom principles. We have to know what those principles are.

And then once we understand that, then I think God can use us more mightily. than what he's using us today. Amen. I agree, Will. You know, it's uh interesting.

Even though we've not had many podcasts over the last few months, um I've still got guys after the men's summit that we did a few weeks ago still Got men coming and up and say, Hey, started listening to your podcast. I'm going all the way back to the first episode.

So they got plenty of material to catch up on. There's. What is it, 300 and some podcast, I think something to that effect that we've got in the bank.

So. And these principles that you're referring to. And this is part of what we always talk about: what are the principles of being a man and being the priest of your home, being the protector of your home, being the. provider of your home.

So what does that look like?

Well, you know, and a man a man is not Define By the fact that he ages. physically over the course of time. A man is defined by what he does. and his attitude and approach. Amen.

how he conducts kingdom business. Because that's what we're all about. We're all about the business of promoting and advancing the kingdom of God. And there are several things that we talked about in the manhood series that we did at the breakfast meetings. Is that there's three reasons why men are.

failing in the area. of number one being the kingdom man and then number two how to advance those things that God have instilled in them. And the first one, of course, is they don't know who they are. You know, they understand that, you know, I'm serving God, but are you serving God wholeheartedly? and to the fullest extent in which God wants you to represent him.

Secondly, they don't know who they represent. And then thirdly, they don't know the spiritual gift.

So If men have an understanding of who they are in the kingdom. and who they represent. the the most high god of all. and then their spiritual gift on how God wants to use them. to advance and promote his kingdom.

You know, that I think. in and of itself. Will shape a man and form him in such a way that his. ability to Let God use him. would be the sky's the limit.

You know, one of the things. Comes to mind. Around this will is most men, at least the men that you and I've dealt with and talked to and Which is hundreds, if not thousands, of men over the years, I'd say thousands over the years has. They half the time they don't know where to get started or how to get started. That's one thing.

Second is they don't think they can make an impact. Third is they don't. Understand what it means to make an impact for the kingdom because they either had to. No example or bad example growing up, i.e., the father wasn't a Christian or the father was not present. Second, if they did have a father, it could have been that he was not a Christian or didn't understand the concept of building the kingdom.

And I think that's what we've often spoke about as the difference between salvation and basically being a disciple or having salvation. You know, and you're absolutely right, Roy. And I think if a man has been going to his local house of worship for so many years and what this ministry has been putting out. In reference to these things, then men need to be practicing what we're telling them. And I think that's where we fail.

And we've been talking about that for a long time. If you've been in Christ for any length of time, and we're talking about men who are in their 40s, 50s, 60s, and some in their 70s and 80s. And you've been fellowshipping. In a local assembly, then you know the basic principles with respect to. Salvation.

We should be at a point where we can convey the salvation message to a non-believer. We should be at the point to where we can share our testimony in a meaningful and way. And communicate that so that the individual would understand. And then we should be able to. Access certain tools that we have been exposed to.

over the years in which we have been going to our local assembly. Share those tools with individuals who may not know the gospel. We men at this point, and when I say men at this point, I'm talking about the men that we know. You know, who have been coming to the meetings and have been receiving food. We're talking about solid meat food, we're not talking about milk.

you know, as Hebrews talk about. These men have been fed meat. I mean, we were talking about T-bone steak. We're talking about sirloin, you know, with all of the trimmings.

So. They have full knowledge, I think, of those basic things, and if we can't. communicate a salvation message, then I think we got to go back and reevaluate. how we're learning. on what we're hearing.

Yeah, I would agree.

Well, and that's maybe part of the problem, as you mentioned earlier. They've been a part of a body and a part of a community. And there's no going back to do a litmus test on what they've learned. whether it be the men and the women or just the men of the church. Often it moves to the next week's sermon or the next series in a series of sermons.

And there's because of the time demands on pastors these days and Um lack of staff, constant turnover, those sorts of things. I don't know that um They have the time or The Desire to try to go to that level just because there's so many other things that are coming at them.

Now, the larger churches, much more so, I think the super large churches, if they've got a discipleship pastor, they've got a staff underneath, and they've got people that can help coach these folks. And I think there's more and more starting to develop over the last few months, if not last year or so, about discipleship. I think, especially with the Charlie Kirk death last year, the younger generation has. Is seeking answers, and they're actually going after what Charlie was sharing with them about the love of Jesus, and that's something that. is really helping I think where the trend's going with the Gen Zers and that whole group now.

So maybe we'll see a generational change as well. Yeah, and the generational changes have to start with the seniors. You know, those individuals who have been in the ministry or been going to church for all these many years. And now they have to be able to take those young men. and say, these are the things that will keep you.

you know and these are the things that will strengthen you At time, or you have certain type of peer pressures, or family miscues, or your inability to learn something in a classroom. God will take you through these things if you yield yourself over to him. And when you do that. you know you will start to see changes And it depends on their craving and passion. to want to go out and do these things.

If you have passion, if you have a flavor. for God. Then It would be No doubt that you would be, you would make. time you would make space To Have communication with God so you can learn and grow. And see, the solution to the problem that I just talked about.

In reference to individuals who don't know who they are, don't know who they represent, and they don't know their spiritual gift, the solution is easy. to number one is to be consistent. with your communication and your relationship with God. Just because you're born again. Having a relationship means that I have to talk to the person who I am related to.

Amen. I have to talk with them every single day.

So I have to be consistent. And these are not hard things now, mind you. We just have to. And still in the younger man. If you have a passion for God.

And if you've been in the church for any length of time. And if you have been exposed to men who are attempting to teach you.

some things in reference to God. Then you have to be consistent in listening. You can't be on the defense. You have to listen, listen with an open mind, listen with an open heart. And then you have to be diligent.

And that's where that passion we were talking about, you know, comes into play. And God said in Proverbs chapter 8 and verse 17 that all of the individuals who who love me. and who seek after me diligently. I will in turn have a relationship with them. And that's Proverbs 8.

And 17. Relationship comes with the person who wants to. Have that already established through salvation.

Now I got to communicate. I got to communicate my desires. To the one who I want to have a relationship, and see, we could carry this over to the husband and wife relationship. You know, they got to communicate. And that's a little bit more difficult, but on a daily basis, this is what you have to do.

And so once those things get in you, if you're consistent in your prayer life, and we've talked about this before, consistent in your prayer life, consistent in your relationship. within the family and then reading the word of God. And these things then you begin to work out. Those things that you have put in. Through your consistency, through your consistent Bible reading, through your consistent prayer life.

being diligent and passionate for wanting. These things, knowing that God will open up himself to you and give you. exactly what you asked for.

So he'll begin to work out these things, but you have to work them in first. Yeah, I Would put it our favorite way of saying, if you will, is if we will start walking towards him, then he'll meet us there. But he's not going to force us off the sidelines as we often talk about. He's not going to force us to engage.

So if we're sitting back saying, Hey, I have salvation. But I have no relationship.

Well, why is there no relationship? you know i don't have the the intimacy well that's because you're not pursuing the intimacy And if you're not fulfilling your purpose, it's most likely because you're not stepping off the sidelines and starting towards whether you're heading in the right direction or not. As we often say, God will direct you. As long as you're moving forward, if you're not moving, he's not going to force you to jump in there. And I think back to this thing with the seniors or the elders or the senior saints.

What's important about that is they need to know they have high value to the body of Christ. Albeit they may be senior in years, as we call it, in overtime or fourth quarter, whatever you want to refer to it as. They come a. Mid late third, maybe start of fourth, you're probably just a little bit the end of the fourth quarter.

So it uh, it's one of those things that if they will look at it and say, man. How can I help? make a difference in the kingdom. at this point in my life. You're exactly right, Will.

If they would invest in maybe some of their peers that are new Christians or younger men that are new Christians or maybe been Christians a long time, quote unquote, salvation. badge holders, if you will, but haven't been disciples, then maybe That's a great place for these men to plug in. And who better than a senior guy to step alongside of a guy who's just starting up the ladder that this man's already been to the top of? Exactly. And, you know, and I think this is what this ministry is doing when, as God gave you the vision, to now reach out.

and bring communicate and have relationships with other local assemblies so that we can share those resources that God had blessed us with, share those resources with them.

So There is really, I don't think, any excuse for a man on how to get started because if you're going to your local house of worship, you're getting the word every week. If you're going to. Wednesday night or Thursday night or Tuesday night Bible study, you're getting the word there as well. If you're having small group meetings with men, you're getting the word there.

So, you know, I think it's really time out. for men to say you know how do i get started you you're starting when you are Start that relationship. and become born again. and become that kingdom citizens. Because once you understand that, and this is why we're talking about kingdom citizen today.

Now your journey. See, as you identify what the problem is, who you are, who you represent, and then know your spiritual gift. then the journey is you never stop learning. You never ever stop learning. And then you apply.

Daily, not weekly, not bi-weekly, not monthly, not yearly. Like some folks only come to church, and Easter service, it'll be packed. And then you'll never see any of those individuals again.

So they'll put on their Easter best. come to the service and then you'll never see them again.

So, I think if pastors understand that, then that'll be a great opportunity. I know some have been doing this, to reach out. Reach out to those individuals, and even if necessary. After they go home. Is to say, hey, can I come by your house for 45 minutes or an hour?

and just to talk about how you felt. and what you experienced when you came to our fellowship. you know so applying daily what you learn and then staying connected with other men You know, that too is a must. That I have to stay connected with someone who is. rooted and grounded.

in the word of God. And I can't miss out. Because this is so important. To get through to the men and for them to um. exercise their faith, Bye.

Ensuring that I'm doing everything that I possibly can. for the kingdom.

so I won't fall short. in anything that I do. Because what are our two things that we always talk about, Roy? that man can never escape. Responsibility and accountability.

You can never. ever escape those things. And this is why we've been talking about them uh so in our uh breakfast meeting which I'm hoping and praying that if there's any men out there who are listening, hey. Come on out. First, third, and if there's a fifth Friday, In the month, come on out and let God bless you.

As God has placed on Roy's heart to have this, this is something that you. As a man. Have an opportunity to understand those things that we just talked about on. Who you are, who you represent, and then finally understanding what your spiritual gift is so you could start using those things right away for the kingdom. Because it's all about advancing the kingdom, not advancing our own agenda.

but advancing the kingdom of God. Yeah, that's good, press the wheel. That's really good. Yeah. As we conclude today's show.
