Is it spiritual to organize Adrian Rogers. Sometimes people give so spiritual advisor on spiritual spiritual if you don't organize your spiritual if you do not play God is a very practical and do everything and in order to see in just a moment. Plans of this man a mile welcome to Leavenworth line between powerful lessons from beloved pastor, teacher and author Dr. Adrian Rogers Nehemiah chapter 1 the prophet. Nehemiah received the devastating new that the walls of Jerusalem: leaving the city of God, vulnerable in ruins. After visualizing a solution and praying for God's permission provision and protection.

Nehemiah began to rebuild the story is symbolic and so very timely for us today. We too are called to rebuild walls that have fallen walls of national security of the family of decency of our educational system, but of doctrine.

How are we to rebuild these fallen walls.

If you have your Bible turn to Nehemiah chapter 1 as Adrian Rogers presents how to turn your problems and possibilities ever have any problems well wonderful congratulations because you see a problem really is an opportunity in disguise and you need to learn God wants you to see your problems as potentialities. Christianity is not someone who sees a difficulty in every opportunity, but to the contrary, he's one sees an opportunity in every difficulty, and that's what we gotta learn as we study together a book of Nehemiah under the general heading of how to turn your problem in possibilities. Now Nehemiah is in Persia and he has seen certain brethren who recently met in Jerusalem and I had no television. They had no radio, no newspapers, as we know them, they had no telephones, so he's wanting some new. He said what is the city of God, like the people of God. What condition I me so I can visualize it so I can see and they brought this report. They went and I'm certainat only a mile. You cannot believe the degradation you cannot believe the desolation you cannot believe the danger you cannot believe the poverty, the city is in disarray and burned with fire walls have crumble. The streets were filled with weeds and trash and debris. People are just areas people are in poverty and hunger, and Nehemiah saltiness city with walls crumbled.

Now these walls were literal walls and that David were asking a question not only what did it mean then. But what does it mean today because you see walls are also symbolical. While Stan protection walls are some symbolical separation will speak to us of conservation well spoke of the glory of God walls in the Bible and especially the walls around the city of Jerusalem.

Symbolic meaning.

They spoke of God for salvation of God. They spoke of the protection of God over his people and the walls had fallen know what is this mean to us today. Ladies and gentlemen, we too are called to rebuild some walls that are indicated and I want you to think with me for a moment about some walls today that have fallen to the ground.

Some walls that are in disarray, I think, for example, about the walls of national security. We must face the grim fact that America is in danger.

Now, whether you like it or not that is true, and you may think that I am an alarmist before I'm finished but I am agree for America. I believe that America has a general trend, which is toward solemn and tomorrow and I believe that the wrath of God is in the eminent foreground for America unless we were and get right with God. We are losing our freedom in America by degrees every day that we live, and freedom is like health. You must lose it. Sometimes in order for to be appreciated. John Philpott Carranza said in 1808 that eternal vigilance is the price of liberty, but we have forgotten to be vigilant for we have forgotten God and what has been the result you look around us. We have seen the collapse of Morrow's we have seen the disintegration of the home. We have seen the highest crime rate of all time and the bloodiest century in human history. This is the harvest that we read because we have forgotten God, and what we need in America is a sweeping revival of the Christian religion I'm talking about the old time religion that made America a great nation that she is walls are crumbling before our very eyes. But I'm telling you that tomorrow decency has decayed and that wall has fallen look if you will have the decency in our educational system.

What's happened to our educational system. Why are students running wild. I'll tell you why we have put in prayer out of schools. We got out of our SKUs and with that with the Bible out and with God.

Now Suzanne sexuality is in the six sexes in murderous abortion is an aerial disease is in and God is out. I feel sorry for schoolteacher who stands up and tells kids. You must do right and I say teacher what is right and where you get right from who says what his right hand says what is wrong, unless there is a God in heaven who does. We got to get back to God.

Can we smartly govern anybody unless we come back tomorrow foundations. The Bible says if the foundations be destroyed, what shall the righteous do what's happening in America we have forgotten God fallen and it is time that we open our eyes and then we saw anything that motivated and move Nehemiah so long ago was that he was able to visualize. He saw the situation as it was now the second step. If you would change problems into possibilities.

Not only must you visualize. But secondly, you must agonize. You must agonize continue to look here in the Scripture we left with verse three Celeste began in verse four and it came to pass, when I heard these were that I sent down an and more on certain days and fasted and prayed before the God of heaven. What kind of prayer.

Was this was a prayer of contrition.

It was a prayer when Nehemiah went salty tears over the condition as it was, was wrong with our society.

Society has forgotten how to blush and the churches forgotten how to weep. No longer do we we when's the last time you spent a night in prayer, when's the last time you fasted and prayed. When's the last time you shed a tear over some so it was mortgage to the devil. We pray without crying.

We did without sacrifice we live without fasting. Is it any wonder that we so without reaping weeping fasting and praying seeking the face of God has become a lost art, but there is no way that America will come back to God until God's people began to pray a prayer of contrition, a prayer of brokenness. One preacher preached a sermon entitled a dry I sure cannot hell bent world. But not only was Nehemiah's prayer. Prayer of contrition. It was a prayer of confession I want you to look as he prays he says here in verse six.

Let Mao thine ear be attentive and mine eyes open, but thou may steer the prayer by servant, which I pray before the now day and night for the children of Israel by servant and confess the sins of the children of Israel, which we have sinned against the both I and my father's house of sin not want you to notice the confession in this prayer, it was national and personal. He said Israel has send and I assume night you ladies and gentlemen, we must pray for our city. We must pray for State Farm nation and we must nationally repent.

But that is no good unless we individually repent and he repented don't you sit here and weep and bow your head and model the condition unless you are willing to repent, because if you you will never be a part of the solution you're part of the problem is not enough just to weep salty crocodile tears Nehemiah prayer. Prayer contrition and a prayer. Prayer of confession, but I want to go on and noticed that he prayed a prayer. Ladies and gentlemen of confidence. Notice in verse eight. Remember, I beseech the word document is thy servant Moses, saying, if you transgress I will scatter you abroad among the nation.

But if you turn on to me and keep my commandments, and do them, though there were a few cast out unto the uttermost part of the heaven yeah will I gather them from things and will bring them into the place that I have chosen to set my name there.

Now these are thy servants and I people whom thou hast redeemed by thy great power, and by thy strong hand is doing the same God. Remember what you said in your word to remember those promises you made in your word.I'm holding you to your word in that great. You see, that's what real prayer is real. Prayer is not just letting your mind wandering, thinking of some things that you won't going to have a little shopping list real prayer in the promises of God's finding of possible God's God says concerning my mouth command.

He may Nehemiah audaciously came to the father and he said father. I am praying a prayer of confidence. I'm believing you go because you promised it because you promise. Lord, I am holding you to your word all listen. We serve a great God and someone as well said prayer is not overcoming God's reluctance is laying hold of his willingness find a promise in the word of God led me to something God wants to do and then stand upon and pray big prayers thou art coming to a king's petitions with the brain's power and wealth for such thou canst not ask too much so he prays a prayer of confidence but I want you to notice also and pay attention. He also prays a prayer of commitment. In verse 11. Lord, I beseech the let Mao thine ear be attentive to the prayer by servant and to the prayer of my cervix desire to fear my name and prosper like crazy by servant this day and grant him mercy in the sight of this man. For I was the king's cupbearer.

Nehemiah had a very important job. He was the king's cupbearer here was a fantastically lavishly wealthy king so wealthy that he had a cupbearer who would come in with his wine and with his buddies everyday and offer them to the king. This was a job that paid well. This was a job are very high elevated job because you were right there with the king in his most intimate moments.

And here was Nehemiah Kings cupbearer and he had a job of lecturing. He was so far removed from the poverty and the degradation of the fallen wall. He was clean his little place of security as it is all messed but he couldn't stay there and when he saw the condition of the walls. He said grace of God. I'm going to get involved and he says Lord I'm starting to do something Lord I feel fire burning in me and I feel something for me. Roger calling me now and you prosper me, Lord. And what I'm about to do because I'm about to get out of my warm this I'm about to get committed limitations something friend is not enough for you to pray the prayer of contrition. The prayer of confession and the prayer of confidence unless you also willing to pray the prayer of commitment, prayer is no substitute for commitment.

Prayer is not a smokescreen in which you can hide your lack of commitment do you think we going to be able to do what we called ourselves to do and what we feel God is leading us to do. We can if you do more than pray you can't do more than pray until you prayed, which you should do more than pray after you prayed, you should be committed.

It will take all levels, not equal gifts but equal sacrifice a commitment.

So many of us don't want to get out all six fighter your nest may disappear before you know it, Sir, you will have a nest to go back to anyone. It's time that we got committed. Now look the first step in turning your problems to opportunities used to visualize the second step is to agonize. That's what Nehemiah did. The third step.

Are you listening is to organize. Sometimes people get so spiritual that they failed to do anything practical. And the thing I like about Nehemiah was that he was deeply spiritual and intensely practical, and so when God began to move in his heart and he saw that the walls were in disarray and he saw that there was a need.

His mind began to work and he started to plan and he was thinking the thoughts of God after him and he made some plan that some people think that if you organize your own spiritual your unspiritual if you don't organize your unspiritual if you do not plan.as a very practical God and God said do everything decently and in order and you're going to see in just a moment.

The plans of this man.

Nehemiah look in chapter 2 beginning in verse one and it came to pass in the month my sand of the 20th year of Artaxerxes the king, that wine was before him, and I took up the wine and gave it unto the king. Now, I have not been up before time sad in his presence.

Wherefore, the king said to me, why is like coming Messiah saying are not.

This is nothing else but sorrow of heart. And I was so horrifying, why would you be so afraid just looks and I'll tell you why. No cupbearer or no sermon at all for that matter, wouldn't dare to come into the presence of an organ king with a sad face that would be to make the king say to rain on the king's parading and it was an unforgivable sin punishable by death or Nehemiah was afraid James is saying why you looking so sad. Nehemiah had a burden on his heart so big he could hide and what was on his heart came out in his face but Nehemiah had prayed and he saw the face of God and so I want to continue to read and then said unto the king, let the king live forever. Why should not my countenance be sad when the city, the place of my father's sepulchers life waste, and the gates thereof are consumed with fire mimicking 74 what does thou make request. So I prayed to the God of heaven picking so what is it you want me my ex is I want you think he just suddenly blurted out for four months he been planning exactly what he wanted and I he asked for three things of the king that everyone of us need to ask, are you ready are you listening the first thing that he asked for was the king's permission look in verse four, so I prayed to the God of heaven and I said unto the king, if it please the king, and if I servant have found favor in my sight that Dahl was send me unto Judah, unto the city of my father's sepulchers, that I may build it.

I want your permission to go before you do anything in the name of Jesus, you better get his permission. It's as dangerous to run ahead of God as it is to run behind and so he asked for the king's permission. All you say will he need an earthly king's permission.

Brandon was in the earthly king who was giving him permission. It was Jehovah God, the Bible says the king's heart is in the hand of the Lord and is reservoir. He turns it whithersoever he will. That's the reason Nehemiah just pray to the God of heaven and he was asking number one for the king's permission. Number two.

He was asking for the king's protection.

I want to look in verse seven. He also says moreover I said in the king if it please the king, let letters be given me to the governors beyond the river, that they may convey me over until I come unto Judah. He sang as I go. These people don't say who are you and what is you have to travel here. He said I want a letter that I can pull out.

I will something that I can show to say the king Artaxerxes sent me, I won't protection my dear friend, aren't you glad that is his children we have that protection.

Aren't you glad that he's given us his letter, God's holy word. Aren't you glad that he has given us his team Jesus and the overall power of the enemy go in line with you always, even to the end of the age. He wanted the king's permission. He wanted the king's protection and he also wanted the king's provision look in verse eight, and he says a letter on the face of the keeper of the king's forest, that he may give me timber to make beams for the gates of the palace which appertain into the house and follow the city and for the house that I shall enter into peace and I need some building materials king I want to give them to me and I just put a star by the last part of verse eight and the king granted me, according to a good hand of my God upon me to see it wasn't this earthly king. Mr. King was only a tool in the hand of the king of King McCain's heart is in the hand of the Lord and his water heater if it whithersoever he will if you will visualize until God gives you a burden and if you will take that burden antagonize unto humility to confess your sins and made a commitment then you have every right to come and organize and go to work. You have every right to look into the face of your God and say I want an old God.

I want your provision because I'm getting ready to rise up and build I'm talking about building a life time. Talk about building a family.

I thought about building relationships. I'm saying is time that God's people began to act like the Bible says the people who know their God shall do exploits. May God help us. May God help me. May God help you what did it mean then what does it mean what does it mean to me today in this place father in heaven. We just pray that you will lay upon our hearts, a burden old God that will not be content to be our warm best of security, but Lord, that we might do something to help heal humanities hurt, Lord, that we might find our place along the wall that we might save the hand of our God is upon us. Therefore we his servants will rise and be Lord help us to see the problems are also opportunities. Help us to see Lord, that our problem is a possibility and a potentiality will only see that what in the name of Jesus a man what a prayer. God help us to see that problems are also opportunities.
