Hello Dr. Brown, Acer, Chris hello a Christian. I'm currently studying the Jewish objection to the Christian faith.

I'm delving deep into the objection about the messianic prophecy. So one of the properties and having trouble with is Isaiah 714 and what that says in Hebrew. Anything other night who the hand of now in my heart your unit of been? I might do in their for the Lord himself will give you a fine. Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and shall hold him, thought him, I'm on him his name Emmanuel and I have like five or six difficulties with birth but for the sake of fine electric out to about two of them slightly relate to. Basically, if that's okay sure and thought for the first. The fourth issue that I have is that I read the context of the fourth is talking about a war situation that a hot ridge of the original context is zero for Mike Moore around 735 734 BC. That's the context of the prophecy and the prophecy must have relevance and meaning for that date, no question about so yesterday I started out not yet.

So I ask you my understanding about yeah of the of is that it buried at a first moment or there there the fulfillment related to at that situation where God is promising, or is giving a fine to a hot two.

Remind him that out you witness a child who is to be born. Growing up, and so on and you name him Emmanuelle or your wife or whoever it is that will name him Manuel that you would remember that God is with us as the war comfortable in. And that's right different event that that's right. Different is a word to us because it's what is promised to the remnant, but a word of rebuke to us because memorizing goes there with his son Shari a shoe which means a remnant will return or repent. He has refused to sign from God and now God gives assigned to whom, to the house of David S not distraught because the house of David in the plural right.

Let him to you anything right exactly and it's it's so so the point is this. To fine-tune this is a word of promise to the divination into the remnant, but a word of rebuke to our cause no, let's just sharpen this a bit more what did the alliance want to do. They wanted to remove cause and set up Bentall veil which is probably just a pun of the name but the worthless one on the throne. So this would disrupt the house of David, which is mentioned at the beginning of the chapter then in verse 13 and then your father's house.

A few verses later.

The only other time house of David is mentioned in Isaiah's Isaiah 22 so this is a very focused word to the house of David. It's a rebuke to the faithless king and basically what's implied is God's gonna raise up somebody better for that's it for the house of David than you to this a promise to the people of God being with them through hardship in trouble or to the remnant at least. But I take this is a word of rebuke to cause the God has a replacement coming for you, but otherwise in context, it does have to happen within a certain period of time within before the child can choose good or evil.

So maybe 10, 12 years right that this judgment right so that's the first part of the prophecy. The first level of fulfillment has to happen within that time.

Yes I know, I thought about all lined standup read it in your and that I'm with you on that my problem is that this idea of that you will fulfillment of certain property where it seemed like Anaconda in the context or in the historical context. God is promising or giving certain properties that are Emmy and escape the prophecy seems to be about something that will happen.

A few years later, like the child will need nine months be born in a few years later out the child is a popular guy getting to know how to choose good and evil. These things will be fulfilled. But then if the second fulfillment as the traditional Christian understanding of it is that's going to be in Yeshua, how dumb. How do you know that the rest of the context such as by the time the child knows the good and evil. How does that apply to Yeshua's adjuster 14 apply sure how come F-18 seem to be, you know that I find it difficult to apply future right so the whole thing is when you look at an immediate at a distance, fulfillment the distance fulfillment will also be the larger theme.

So, for example, Psalm two. If you look at rabbinic commentaries. Many will say this is a psalm about David and the Messiah or Numbers 24 the scepter that will come out.

Of of of Israel, Judah, but good is Israel there. Specifically I see him, but not now. So rabbinic a commentor I see him that's David but not now, the Messiah, so this near and distant fulfillment is something the rabbis recognize why because much of what was supposed to happen at that time didn't happen the same but Isaiah 9 of five. In Hebrews 6 and in English, six and seven in English.

Many rabbinic commentaries recognize that about the Messiah the Targum that the Jewish translation paraphrase of the of the synagogue days and in Jesus time recognizes that being about the Messiah, but when you read many other commentaries they they think it's a celebration of the birth of Hezekiah. So my understanding of messianic prophecy is that there was tremendous anticipation and expectation with the need to be the king that this could be the anointed with this could be the ruler that that doesn't and that there were even prophetic word spoken when those words did not fully come to pass. We don't even know who Emmanuel was written in terms of the Old Testament. Nobody knows who he was. Nobody knows who his mother was that there to this day there's a human being on the planet who can tell us with certainty.

In Isaiah's day who the mother was who Emmanuel was himself, and then when you go on to the beginning of the eighth chapter, the prophecy about the birth of Mahatma Herschel will cost pause that seems to take the exact place and those in many countries think it's the same problem and the many other commentaries say Emmanuel is actually the child born the ninth chapter in this parallel language and things to the point the right direction so my understanding is that Matthew looks at Isaiah 7 Isaiah 9 and is 11.

As you know from my book and he sees this is another messianic prophecy.

This is a promise to the house of David that has an immediate fulfillment, but we don't even know what and how it it's almost intentionally obscure.

Even the mall while does not specifically mean virgin still striking because it's surprising, as Rashi says that our model will conceive have a baby that's that striking and then elsewhere in song of Solomon, Rashi says that the all the moats that the him on the plural business versions so it's it's very interesting to see even a modern rabbinic commentary so she was a very young girl near the wife was very young over young girls don't have children so it would be something striking like why she had a child and then it's ultimate fulfillment when it when it the full meaning comes. It doesn't have to have the historical context to it. Just like all the other prophecies. All the other all the things with a greater fulfillment. The larger promise of who this person will be who the Stephen King will be what he will do. That's what's realized historical copyright is just the ceiling, which was planted in estimates of prophecy assessment. What one that will mess example for your Ezekiel 36 the prophecy of of coming out of exile right and then immediately followed by the dry bones, vision, and then the goes into gold demagogue will some of that apply to to the Jewish people coming on the Babylonian exile, but much is something that's absolutely historical context to beginning, but most of what was promised didn't come to pass, even though the immediate context is absolutely Babylon the same as Jeremiah 32, 33, the absolute context is Babylon, but a lot of what was promised. Even Jerusalem or be destroyed again. That was in the context of coming back from captivity in Babylon and in the 530s and interest was was destroyed again historically, so such as messianic prophecy have to do this with its many other prophecies about Israel's final destiny immediate fulfillment has a historical context. The larger fulfillment brings everything to pass the new context find that I'm have a slight problem with that take on the on the text is that what you mentioned from to that certain rate rabbinic Avenue commentaries say that while it it's about Dave and it's about the coming Matthias so there that you will fulfillment, but I understand that the text the genre of the text is public poetry, and so there are no specific historical events that are being described is not there is a correlation song about those really did not like that but it was written in history. Back then it was guys and was recited as a coronation Psalm for different kings in history, but is still poetry and a lot of imagery, but in this specific case, there is only one verse that That Christian decor. Basically, Matthew take as referring to Yeshua right away by biking to be confrontational because I really want to get to the answer here I'm really digging deep into this but from the Jewish objection perspective that I sent to Mr. Stanley Connor will finish on the other side. Hey everyone, thanks for your patience. I'm in the process of potentially rewriting the whole monograph on this and my is a commentary on the time of this I been so focused on this with Joseph getting clarity here.

I will be right back. Stay right there. We will file the line of fire with your host Dr. Michael Brown get into the reminder flyer now by calling 866-34-TRUTH here again is Dr. Michael Brown on the line of fire 866-34-TRUTH number to call on him to get to as many calls as I can but I want to stay with Josh and the moment here.

Hey Josh what what your own faith background.

By the way you said your Christian guy come from theory.

Christian backgrounds.

Okay, that was just wondering about the accent background though II love the I look at pushing the probing.

It's very helpful and it it will get us so so finish that I am still upon but restated and more time. Yeah.

So the point is that if there that doable women at it from that context find and that if you take from two outpouring of poetry can interpreting so many ways that there are no specific than the poet even though it it was a coronation coronation poetic tech but still that the text in Isaiah 7 is very specific. There is only one person that is 714 that Matthew quote and from the Jewish perspective well, but when they object to this is that Matthew is misquoting thinking things out of context and so it seems like the only verse that you can use for your show is 14 but everything else specially about that child about a minute with 15, 16 and the whole context of and apply in any way shape or form. So that's the difficulty I'm having like what you want to write so they'll let me try to address birth of the money try to help you.

That's first. If you look at Talmudic and rabbinic references to messianic prophecies. Matthews is the most sober thing you've ever seen, compared to the way things are quoted in terms of pulled out of context and pulled every different direction.

You'd be shocked. You really be shocked of your illusions in the drawstring things and how political interpretations and I mean Matthew stands out for his sobriety and use of the text right so what what Matthew was understanding is that this is a promise to the house of David right and that that there will be a king who will embody Emmanuelle God with us, who later we find out these titles of spoken of in Isaiah chapter the ninth chapter and the one on whom is the spirit of the 11th chapter, Matthew sees that whoever that child was that promise to the house of David was never fulfilled, and therefore there must this was a promise, not just to a cause in a historical context but a promise to the house of David.

That was never fulfilled. Therefore, it must still be fulfilled when you sure without born of of an arm on the fullest sense of the word of a virgin and who himself is God with us as a possible we could read the text without saying it's found its fulfillment. So it's the seed disbursed a historical soil. It promises. I didn't get it Emmanuelle. The first one or or a an in-depth contact was never born know he was one of the whoever he was that there was more to the promise.

That's what you never hear about. Okay that's why there's no reference to, and that's why the whole timeframe is not taken up in the eighth chapter with Mahesh. All hospitals, it seems a completely unnecessary prophecy. So what did more to the prom that he will actually be Emmanuelle God with us that that the and then I I promise. What about the land being emptied represented. What would allow scope of work situation, Gwen, and I don't know that that was that was the historical context of when he would be born. The promise was that he would be born that this child would be born to a mama who would be a model of that's the promise. The rest is is the timeframe in which it happens. Now what is a by the time he will do this the level before St. Louis true was that true Jesus was born to Mr. 50 years later hundred years later 200 years later. Yes that's so that condition remain the same. That didn't change, but it's the promise. That's the key thing you need to lean into what was promised. Matthew sees that whatever was promised about that child never reached its fulfillment until Yeshua came for the house of David.

Okay, I quickly think my second problem with it. That really quickly. If you don't mind okay lately. If they're in the art that if there is a double fulfillment there on mama in the during the time of the house and on my which is the Virgin Mary and so at one of the first on my version now know that's all think there were no two settlements.

This part of the filled partial fulfillment and fulfillment. You can have two fulfillments you cancel the glass twice.

The first one was born in Omaha, a young woman strikingly okay that was you wouldn't expect her to have a child, but she did the.

The all mom, through whom the Messiah came was a mall in the fullest sense of the word virgin amount is not exclusively mean version.

There certainly no evidence of it, meaning a married woman or woman that's had children already.

There's no evidence of that.

So the old whoever was. That's the whole thing.

The beginning is partial, so there was. There were not two virgin births all mom. Most specifically, speaks of her virgin but doesn't have to. But it had to be something strike on yeah all the facilities that they wanted to live in all almost all of the Old Testament for films or partial Israel coming out of Egypt, partial moment, like what was fulfilled partially in what was that he was born that there was a child who was born when Omar to it to a young woman strikingly. Surprisingly, when you would think was able have a child is raw. She says that his name is Emmanuel and that that that was his name but he did not embody who Emmanuel was bemoaning the who was the same in reference to develop that that didn't happen.

Although not known, though others say that some think it was Hezekiah Stoelting was Hezekiah was either something was my initial house pause something. It was a son of a cause nobody knows for sure none of the commentaries know for sure.

Anna dominant and here I will be looking again and that starting your response again and maybe at next time I'll call I have more problems with the birth, particularly yeah but they here so I don't take too much time by really thank you very much.okay just let me just say this. I have been so focused on this and as a set I I action proposal into a whole monograph on it plus writing Isaiah come to so I have Doug and Doug and Doug and Doug and it when you understand the concept of fulfillment. Just think of it like this. That's why took extra time that I apologized of the cause because I never do this on Friday spent so much time so just to take this is an honoring of your seriousness and wanted to get this right. Think of this as like threads that are just hanging you read in the Scriptures like Mo who was this how does this what what actually happened was this child this or or when you ghost read Ezekiel 36 right and 37 and in think okay. When this was the Babylonian exile, but only partly happen there is historical context. When you come back to the land then disposed of a new heart and this and this and this read Jeremiah 30, 33 to 33. All things are supposed happen only some of them happened so it's it's this whole thing with the Hebrew Bible that some of it was promised happen, but the rest didn't and then went to me if I was Matthew reading this it would so jump off the page to me was a cop house is missed and I feel confident that's one of the things that you shall open the disciples eyes to Matthew 24 hey bless you Josh. I keep study and we will interact again gobbling 866-34-TRUTH let's go to Joseph in Sioux Falls South Dakota. Welcome to the line of fire hi there Dr. Michael Brown how are you today well. Thank you. Wonderful. My question this time is regarding Matthew chapters 1 and two. There is a reference to an angel of the Lord that appeared to Joseph and basically my question is I know a lot of commentators and people study Scripture believe that Jesus is actually the angel of the Lord that are throughout the Old Testament and so my question is with the angel of the Lord being referenced again in Matthew wanted to.

And yet Jesus is already been figured in the womb of Mary. How does this connect to what is commonly known as the the art. The thought of the angel of the Lord yeah it's it's a great question, but it doesn't connect it's it's it's a totally legitimate question of, but it doesn't connect number one not every time that it speaks of the angel of the Lord in the Old Testament is it. Speaking of the son of God speaking of Jesus, and some clear cases. It is Exodus 3B, one of the clearest of all of but it's not always.

And we know there are many angels that God sent right, some with names Michael so here and there. There is a distinct one. The angel of the Lord who is who is the messenger I just want to grab grab the verse that that we are that were looking at here in the here we go so excellent in in in Matthew one it's it's not talking about the synagogue being the angel there. It's just an angel and we know that the angel that was doing most of the communication that the answer was through most of the communication. At that time was Gabriel right.

He's the one that appears to Zechariah in Luke one.

He's the one that appears to Mary Mary in Luke one, so this is just an angel, a message can be Gabriel but doesn't tell us by name, so it certainly was not Jesus here on earth and in the spirit of the son of God coming in and telephone certainly wasn't that again. Don't think that every time it says the angel of the Lord, or an angel from the Lord that it has to refer to the somehow that's not the case. Looked all of that, I walked quite a bit and I run out to book can actually have an interesting thought. And that is that the word of the Lord is actually all represent Jesus as well. Like for example when the angel of the Lord spoke to Elijah and that he didn't speak to the Lord again on the Arnott Mount Sinai amount grab and he basically believes that the word because in John effective beginning with the word of the word of the Lord is actually is actually the Lord, the Lord Jesus in the catheter yeah I'm there so might have a colleague that that read Scripture like that as well that will persist when the Lord came to that was actually the son of God coming to someone. I am not gonna read it like that myself. I don't see that we know there are plenty of aspects of the word of the Lord just in terms of God's words when he communicates with the soffit. Everything that God ever communicated is therefore the son of God speaking because he's the word made flesh rather there are times when God comes to manifest himself make himself known. And that's what he does son hey Joseph, I appreciate your questions very much error on the line of fire with your host Dr. Michael Brown.

Welcome to the line of fire baccarat breaker particular are you going to a great man. Thanks. Very good this past week were talking about old Dr. Brown, the ending of Mark six and I am very that'll picked up real ending but if it is Jesus the views of the spine and the sign is something you see, I think like a stop sign distributor the spine that believers were going to do to be compiled you, and cast out devils right and then you got to have nobody see there's a Lord would find that nobody can poison a pickup thought that the group that were talking I forgot the only problem I have a good thing that I could be hundred percent raw. Your doctor bump each other gifts were that I if you're going to charismatic church. Dr. Brown is 98% of people doing 95% or believe in healing devils are being cast out with intercultural/blue and you don't even hear of your and you don't even hear them talk about the was this the real ending of Mark. Was there some dyad in it to make it a better rendering. I don't find of a guy with poison with you that right order to feel like they look… Brick like boys on the side of you brought by're right so so you have you have churches Eddie Mike and West Virginia. In particular, but some other places with actually try to do this you know that they can handle snakes. This is a sign of their faith or you can think poison and some are suppressing protected others have died tragically and then because I don't believe in doctors they've done agonizing deficits is very sad. My understanding is that no, it's not the original in your mark, but I do believe it preserves authentic words of Jesus that we know in in in the book of acts in the last chapter of acts X 28 the Paul's bit by serpent everyone thinks is going to die and when he doesn't. The Rorschach suit. So it is recorded that that happened. The question is this.

It happened more drinking deadly poison on effective I have heard testimonies of one I heard from some of the new the family personally of a believer Palestinian believer in a Muslim family came to faith when he came to faith his father was going to kill him. Is there is the honorable thing to do because he wouldn't deny Jesus so have them over for meal and poisoned him and when his son drank the poison ate the poison was completely untouched. The father became a believer. So perhaps this happens more than we realize the take up serpents could well be a spiritual metaphor in Luke 1019 Jesus is the will tread on serpents and scorpions, that's the language of of Psalm 91 they could have to do with our spiritual authority that would be something demonstrable with the gospel goes into an area and powers of darkness are broken in Jesus name solo. It literally happened to Paul and it may may also happen more often. Your we have friend in India was bitten by a cobra twice and survived. That confidence is massive. I'm laughing at at the intensity of that the world they live in, but they it with cobra was in the wall the house and persons to massive wounds on their body was crazy. So it could be just in our world. It doesn't applies, but it certainly nothing that we attempted to do to prove something anymore than we we get somebody infected with sickness so that we could pray for them, but one of two answers. One, it happens more than we realize different settings in different parts of the world or to the last thing about taking up serpents is is mainly understood metaphorically because the language that we have in other places so I believe it's authentic and real and we do see some of it again outlined in that it happened to Paul as well. In the book of acts and that's how I understand it, real words when not to do this they can linking to prove something, but this has happened around the world many times and has been demonstrable and there are testimonies that come that come out of it, that would be my answer all right. You are but I everyone your bigger was the real ending note know nothing original ending notes definitely there.

There's a clear either. It ends in verse eight. Okay which which would be very odd, but one of the. The topics mark scholars in the world. Now that I was talking to Lisa thence suit here this to be the last verse, and they, the women went out and fled from the tomb for trembling and astonishment had seen them and they said nothing to anyone, for they were afraid that being all the way to end it when my friends there to Craig Keener is working a massive bar, Janelle thinks that's the original ending and it's for you to say, but we have to go tell the message.

Now we have to go tell everyone that he rose otherwise you have a shorter and it's been preserved and the longer and longer. Ending is and what's are bought in our Bibles verses 9 to 20.

The reason we say it's not the original ending is there's an immediate change in subjects about who's being spoken about and then different vocabularies used in the Greek as opposed to the rest of Mark so it's really not the original but my understanding is that it did include authoritative words of Jesus. For some reason in God's providence and have the original ending.

Now we have this or more candidate like dissidents, someone felt the need to supplement but it does contain the actual words of Jesus.

We just have to find them elsewhere in Scripture to say this is absolute doctrine which we can certainly do for tongs for healing for driving out demons authority over Satan and then God preserving us through through every attack and blessing our food and drink and things like that but for sure. And you know this, you and your sister common sense guy from New York. We don't go out and drink poison or or pick up venomous snakes just to prove our faith hate thanks as always for the discussion.

This must be some Bible study are part of math. The good thing is all stuck together less than nicely.

Also, friends are also together. All right 866-34-TRUTH, let's go to Tyler in Tampa Florida. Thanks so much for holding welcome to the line of fire around the question about Deuteronomy 32 and a time like a work Deuteronomy 32 worldview that is popularized by Dr. Michael Heitner, basically, and I'm sure you're familiar with his work on. Basically, that the Lord after the Tower of Babel divided the nation to different Elohim and that he that your new placeholders and then they turn evil create wickedness.

The man, and that you eat Israel for his inheritance. You know he and Dr. Heiser back up with nine other things that the big I was wondering how you you.and in particular I know in charismatic churches we can sometimes do like look like regional warfare your view on that like if there is spiritual territorial spiritual powers over region write it for accessible legal whatever to do warfare over the ends of your view on that right so Dr. Heiser's is a friend and colleague and a brilliant scholar and I deeply appreciate his work. I don't necessarily see everything the same way that it couldn't be, but what I would do and he would certainly agree with this is you go from the certain to the uncertain. So the reading of Deuteronomy 32 to got a portion things according to the sons of Yisrael Israel or the sons of AL sons of God, meeting the divine beings that angelic beings that are over nations it to me. It's debatable. I noted the various textural issues. Dead Sea Scrolls of Septuagint response with my scripts, etc. I just in my reading I just pass there a couple days ago and thought afresh about it. But let's design? Next to that okay right and let's go to Ephesians 612. Right says that our struggle is not with flesh and blood, but with principalities, powers and and so principalities and powers not just from an individual demons and I I would certainly say based on Daniel 10 you have the warfare the Prince of Persia and things like that which would be totally part of Dr. Heiser's understanding right that there are demonic powers or angelic powers who want to translate that or understand it over regions of there's no question when you go to minister around the world that you can go to places where the Holy Spirit's report out and you fly Kevin's open and you go somewhere else and and you preach exact same message in your your words barely get out of your mouth before they hit the ground. That's how it feels right. Have friends that are that her grandson were school colleagues of the missionaries in countries like Thailand and they have been praying and fasting for years and years and there been generations of people praying and fasting instill the gospel spreading. Very gradually there or explosion of the gospel in China and South Korea and in North Korea before the before it closed the gap God knows what's happening there but Japan still even people that successfully planted mega churches in different parts the world that was they took what they were doing brought it to other parts of the world and then did the exact same thing in Japan.

It didn't work there right other parts the world where the other called missionaries graveyards, so there definitely spiritual principalities and powers of the late John Paul Jackson urged urged people not to try to do battle with principalities and that we drive out demons. That's that's on the individual. It's our one-on-one ministry or or ministry congregation or group of people, by all means we address our prayer to God and cry out to God to move and work and proclaim the authority of the gospel to advance the message the authority of the gospel all authority in heaven and earth is given to Jesus and that since heaven is open because he is risen and at to me and it is an individual. I do not feel that we would have the authority to tackle a principality, however, if the leaders of the region came together in prayer and fasting before the Lord in repentance and getting right by all means they could do that and I know that being done in the city of Richmond in the 80s were all the pastors were brought together by a key intercessor. This is the number one stronghold diversity right now is violence and murder.

One day the highest rate City they prayed and fasted for leaks in the morning and nobody still, some month in Emmaus and whoever's doing something. Keep it up. Something was going on so that to me be the example regional fight with Expo line of fire with your host activist, author, international speaker and theologian Dr. Michael Brown voice of more cultural and spiritual revolution get into the line of fire now by calling 6643 here again is Dr. Michael Brown my friends for joining us on the line of fire hate symbol to pray for national revival. One individual pray for us. I can happen. It's well if you're one person would get a country of three people. It might happen, but God is looking for national response comes looking for national cry. That's just how things how things work. So your prayers make a difference. The look of one person you just okay Lord I ask you for peace on earth now in Jesus name, amen. It just doesn't happen like Lord come soon. It will come now.

Amen. There's a cumulative prayer and the force of cumulative prayer, but every prayer makes a difference like chopping down that tree every blow of the acts makes a difference in them of their individual ministry outreach absolutely life-and-death right back to the phones. Let's go to Anthony in Lake Charles, Louisiana. Welcome to the line of fire. After thorough my my question to you with the mold government theology.

The implication that have contact wiretapping so I do I do college ministry like Darrell and report using pretty ongoing.

We that I found effective claim and Dr. you're with and for sure). It no. However, I know that you really influenced by many and prosperity. I though the label to put on government theology and which appeared you know little little place in so my questionnaire I get but what your thoughts on the implication that you can find it appointment you can get directly like like having a growing hunger for God.

It will if I can't deny that.

Like like one of the implication you don't like what Britney think that like you don't have to dear actually like to connect the love that like don't happen. You can live right you live a life that doesn't happen right so right number one I don't I don't see that is flowing necessarily out of different atonement theologies so moral government that would would be more or less that that Jesus takes the representative punishment is supposed to penal substitutionary atonement, or simply substitutionary atonement re-dies and in our place for me. I think came at things in a logical way and recognize. Okay Jesus did not take on all of our physical sicknesses heat. He did not. He did not go to hell forever, etc. no resumes. The representative punishment of death that he suffered, by which God forgives us, I see that as part of it, but not all of it because it is it is substitution of a deep level, but when I see Finney preaching your finish point is that we are born naturally fallen and we inevitably sin as violence is fallen human beings. In other words, ;-) Pratley might say you're born with two strikes against you and you will guaranteed strikeout. That's what you need Redeemer and reformed and others would say most would say no you're born struck out already so Finney would say it's an inevitability of your nature that you will sin and rebellion against God, that's wise repentance preaching this is so intense you don't find you don't find a Calvinist preaching repentance any deeper than Finney and turning from sin of underfunded collegian when he says, Ezekiel, God system, Ezekiel and Ezekiel 18, get yourselves in your heart see you have to do that but you can only do that by the power of the spirit of to me the key thing is this, if just to be practical rather than to to fully engage ;-) or Charles Finney. The key is that you do not want the kids to have a false expectation as if they could actually be sin free for good it right right at this moment.

I hope and trust that I'm not sitting in any way it it in all of my consciousness at this moment as I'm speaking to him speaking with a pure heart to honor the Lord to bless you to to help listeners, etc. but the idea that I could perpetually be sin free in this body in this world is contradicted by my experience of 50 years as a believer and by Scripture to me so I it would be. You don't want them to have any sense and by the way, when one Wesley talked about perfectionism or Finney.

I don't. My understanding was they weren't saying that you can reach complete and total moral sin free of perfection. Otherwise, Finney would not of emphasized revival is much as he would get a recognizing that the backs and state about the church. So what I would want these young people to be is grounded in the love of the father, that of Whitman.

We would teach fire school of Ministry because people are so passionate about the calling of God, and we were so putting a vision in front of them, of God using you use in your life to its intent to help her dying and hurting will give your life for the gospel that we realize that many students got a performance mentality that had to work harder. They had a pray more than one doing enough so we intentionally shifted our emphasis while still making a very radical caller are school models by life or by death for the gospel, but the very first semester or trimester. We really emphasize grounding them in the love of the father, security, and the father knowing there accepted because of what Jesus did, not because of their best works are best day, and that on their very best day though still fall short, but because they are loved by God, because sin is so ugly and destructive with all their being. They want to please, so that's the key thing Anthony that I would encourage you to to guard the students against which is any sense of performance.

Legalism let it be grounded in the love of God and of course the ;-)'s great youth minister all these decades.

He understands that the love of the father putting that in the young people.

That's what I would emphasize in that regard, I'm having students in a new school from ministering to students and teaching in Fort Worth on a monthly basis.

I'm having them read the first semester my book, how saved our week which is a radical way come up, shake him a book. But first, after he my son-in-law or Ryan's book living loved so I'd encourage you to drink that into living loved by Ryan Bruss, especially with young people performance thing the father this thing is a real epidemic that the be grounded in love of the father, out of which, with all my being caught want to be holy and pleasing. Hopefully that is helpful in getting them the book Ryan Bruss beer USS living loved all right this go to Amanda in Clarkston, Michigan. Thanks for calling the line of fire. Time shorts or dive right in.

Please hereby enter everything. I don't know a craft fair or earlier you mentioned about partial-birth will yes rendering daring examples of partial and/or dual fulfillment in the Hebrew Scriptures specifically. Okay so sure we see things that have not fully happened yet within the Hebrew Scriptures. In other words, I mentioned Ezekiel 36, so this is a very important passage that context is the exiles in Babylon right coming out of Babylon coming back to the land of Israel being reestablished by God. Jeremiah has similar prophecies in the Temple will be rebuilt.

That's and that's in Jeremiah, the Temple will be rebuilt and XYZ things will happen will only accept Y and Z. Never happened. But when you read it when you read Ezekiel 36 and then Ezekiel 37. The dry bones which the context, the historical context is the Jewish people coming out of Babylonian exile right that that with with this understanding there. There is a when you read the text. If you are Jewish person reading or Jeremiah 24, the return of the Jewish people from exile in Babylon termites is going to exile C committee is in exile and get a return what you would've expected was when they came back the messianic era was gonna break there to come back to rebuild the temple, the glory of the Lord will be so strong Israel will turn to God with one heart and one soul and follow him. Jerusalem will never be destroyed again and the nations of the world will now come to Jerusalem because what he's done that would've been your expectation did they return from exile.

Yes, was the Temple rebuilt yes the rest of the prophecies happen.

So, that's right. Those are some of most major prophecies in the Hebrew Bible.

So when I wrote my Jeremiah commentary that was a big light going on for me that this is not just messianic prophecy that has a partial fulfillment so God promises one through 10, but in the context it feels like it's all going to happen there but only one through three or one through four happened then but it's in the Bible so what you do with a false prophet so because the first part came to pass, so that makes you understand the rest also come to pass. So we, dual fulfillment is better to think of lineal fulfillment, partial initially happens and then the rest happens later. So the most major prophecies that are spoken of the most frequently in the Hebrew Bible. The return of the Jewish people from Babylonian exile. The restoration of the exiles from from northern Israel. All of those prophecies. The biggest parts of them has still not been fulfilled.

Even though there historical context. Another example would be Jeremiah 32, 33, anyone says it be restored drizzly, rebuilt, and Jerusalem never be destroyed again was was well then that means that there is still this time to come for his friends.
