Welcome to the Kerwin Baptist Church broadcast today. Our desire is for the Word of God to be spread throughout the world.

so that all may know Christ. Join us now for a portion of one of our services here at Kerwin Baptist Church. Located in Kernersville, North Carolina. I um I wanted to just show you a couple pictures from the Philippines, and these are churches that we support. And Pastor Ederic that we took on, he and his family, they, as we did, they put together Christmas boxes and things, but they do this for their community.

And here they are putting together some boxes. They got a number of pairs of shoes. They've had to raise money. You know, here's people that don't live on much. Again, we took them on for support for $100 a month.

That more than doubled what he makes as a salary. And he's been living on less than that a month. And this is their church. They had an outreach, they had a big thing, and they had numerous people saved. It was earlier.

Their Sunday begins before ours. And I just wanted you to see that. You know, this is just another reminder: your mission's money, that people are being saved in an area of the world you can't be at. And but you have a part in it. And we're very proud of Pastor Edric and all their people worked hard to get all this stuff together, raise the money so they could give gifts to the community and get people in.

And they saw a lot saved. Brother Vic Carpio, we are supporting him. And they had, this is not his church, this is a camp that they have. This is a camp that I spoke at when I was over there in the Philippines. They had a whole big pastor's training there.

But they're celebrating their 14th year as a church.

So they had it out here. And I want you to see. You can see the TV screens that we purchased. Our church purchased that. They were trying to use projectors that didn't work, and it was just basically projected on that white wall.

And we, at the church, we had a member that gave some money. We purchased TVs for all of their classrooms and their Bible college, and then they put two up in this building. And they celebrated their 14th year out at the camp property on a Sunday. They had a big push, and they had 53 people saved. And I wanted you to see that.

I just want little things like that. I want you to know. I want you to see those are the screens that we purchased, and plus also in their classroom so that we can help train their Bible college students. And I was just very proud of that. I appreciate Vic keeping up with us, saying, Hey, thank you for praying.

They had a bad hurricane came through there, had about $2,000 worth of damage. You don't get insurance in the Philippines like you can get insurance here, and they're going to have to try to take care of that. But I just wanted you to see these good things that God has done. And Kerwin, you have a part in that. And I want you to know that.

And it's a reminder that there is needs. all over the world. Turn with me, if you will, to numbers, and you're there. We're going to use that as a launching point. I appreciate Brother Frank.

Um reading that this morning. We have been doing a series on the promises of God. And what we've been doing is kind of taking individual promises and developing that. I want to do something a little bit different today. You're going to have all the promises you can handle today.

This isn't just going to be one that we're going to kind of take a passage and expose that passage. I want you to see between the Old Testament and the New Testament some things about the promises of God.

So I want you to kind of sit back. We're going to take you on through a little bit of a journey. But our launching point is in the book of Numbers. And next Sunday, we're going to talk about what I think is the greatest promise ever given in Scripture. But in Numbers 23, verse 19, I want us to look at this passage.

Brother Frank read it, and I want us to look at it as we jump off here today. God is not a man. Aren't you thankful for that? God is not a man. By the way, that Basically exposes the incorrectness and the falsehood of every other religion.

Right there. Every other religion is based on a man. It's based on Peter. It's based on Allah, it's based on Muhammad, it's based on men. But aren't you glad the God we serve is not a man.

God is not a man, and because of that, what do men do? Men lie. You say, well, I don't preach her. You just lied. You don't even have to teach a child to lie.

They learn it. automatically. They start screaming like you think they're dying. They just want something to eat. They're already lying to you.

You think, oh, something's wrong. Nope, they're just hungry. And, you know, you don't have to teach it. It's just in our nature. God is not a man that he should lie.

Neither. The sun Of man. You say, now, preacher, the Bible refers to him as the Son of Man, yes, because God became flesh. But what it's saying here is this, that Jesus isn't a product of man's seed. We believe in the virgin birth of Jesus Christ.

So God is not a man, and God is not even the product. of a man.

Okay, notice this. that he should repent. What do men do?

Well, men lie. What also do men do?

Well, men many times can't. follow through on what they promised. Men have to somehow go back. They have to kind of, you know, recall themselves.

Well, I meant this and I tried this and it didn't work out or whatever. Or many times men will say things that they can't perform, that they can't do. But here's what he said: God is not a man, and he doesn't lie. God is not even the product, the son of a man. Which means if he says it, he can do it.

Men can sometimes not back up what they've claimed, but God always can. Notice this: Hath He said, If God said it, And shall he not do it? Have he said it? And if he has. Shall he not do it?

Or hath he spoken? Shall he not make it Good. Our subject today is shall he not do it? Shall he not do it? We have been, this is our eighth week.

talking about the promises of God. And I want to encourage you all the way through Scripture. God has made promises that God has fulfilled, and God has made promises that He will fulfill. Every promise God has made, He either has fulfilled or He will fulfill. And today, I want you to know when you leave this building, you should be able to walk out of here and say, Listen, if God said it, He'll do it.

All God's people said. Let's pray. Lord, I love you. Pray you'd bless our journey through your word. We sure do love you.

You've been gracious. And give us a good day in your house. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen. I want to start in the Old Testament.

I want you to look at Genesis chapter 12, verse 1. It'll be on the screen for you. We're going to jump around quickly and a lot, but I want you to see it. And first, I want you to see here that all the way back here in Genesis chapter 12, God promised to bless Abraham. And he didn't just promise to bless Abraham, but through Abraham's descendants, God promised to bless the whole world.

Now look at this promise. Genesis 12, 1.

Now the Lord God said unto Abraham, Get thee out of thy country and from thy kindred, from thy father's house, unto a land that I will show thee. Notice, and I will make of thee a great nation. That's a promise. And I will bless thee. That's a promise.

And make thy name great. That's a promise. And thou shalt be a blessing. That's a promise. And I will bless them that bless thee.

That's a promise. By the way, God still made that promise. And God still keeps that promise. And I'm going to tell you something. Be very careful about politics.

You better stick with Israel.

Okay, God said, Well, I don't agree with some of the things they do. Guess what? I don't agree with some of the things I do. But God said in his word, I will bless them that bless thee. Notice what he says here: and curse him that curseth thee.

And in thee shall, notice this, all the families of the earth. That's us. Through thee and all in thee. And what do you mean? Through this lineage.

This is where Messiah would come. Shall all the nations of the earth be blessed. God promised to bless Abraham, and God promised to bless us through the line of Abraham. God made a promise. Notice his second promise.

And well, let me just show you this. Let me give you fulfillment. Let me take the time to do this in John chapter 8. I want you to see this verse. Here God said, I'm going to do this to Abraham.

Look all the way in the New Testament. Notice here.

Now Jesus is here on earth. Look if you would at verse 56. Your father Abraham, here's Jesus talking to religious leaders. He says, Your father Abraham rejoiced. to see my day.

What do you mean? Abraham was dead a long time ago. And now here's Jesus. And now this guy is claiming that Abraham rejoiced. To see my day?

Your day, Jesus, you claim to be. Notice this, and he saw it. and was glad. That's by faith. Abraham believed that God was going to send a redeemer.

Now, notice this, look at verse 57. Then said the Jews unto him, Thou art not yet 50 years old. And hast thou seen Abraham? You're not even 50 years old, and yet you say that you saw Abraham. And that Abraham saw you and all these crazy things.

Notice, verse 58, Jesus said unto him, Verily, verily. I say unto you, before Abraham was. I wasn't just there when Abraham was there. I was here before. Abraham.

was there.

So God made a promise, God fulfilled. A promise. I'm going to bless the whole earth through Abraham. And now the blessing, Jesus himself was there. God made a promise.

God fulfilled the promise. All right? Promise number two. I want you to see this. God made a promise to Israel.

Now, not just to Abraham, but through Abraham.

Now, God makes a promise to Israel to be their God and to make them his people.

Now, this is very important for us. Look at Leviticus 26, verse 12. Look at on the screen. And I will walk among you. and will be your God, and ye shall be my people.

I am the Lord your God, which brought you forth out of the land of Egypt, that ye should not be their bondman. And I have broken the bands of your yoke, And made you go upright. I will be your God, and you will be my people. Say, preacher, this is a promise made to Israel. This is in the context of the Old Testament.

Why does this even matter? Look at me. If God made a promise to Israel and He kept it, that means when God makes a promise to you, He'll keep it. And guess what? All through the Old Testament, God's dealing with Israel is a picture of God dealing with us.

They were God's chosen people. You and I are God's called-out people, the church. And I'm here to tell you: God said, I will be your God. You will be my people. And guess what?

God has always kept his promise to Israel. I want you to notice this. Look at promise number three. I'm just walking you through a couple of these promises. Look at Deuteronomy chapter 4, verse 29.

God promised that if we search for Him, We can find him. This is a very important promise. Look at Deuteronomy 4, verse 29. God says this, but. From now on.

If from thence, Thou shalt seek the Lord thy God. Thou shalt find him. If thou seek him. with all thy heart. And with all thy soul.

You say, Preacher, this is in the book of Deuteronomy. Why does this matter to us? Oh, guess what? God made a promise in the book of Deuteronomy. And guess what?

I can tell you today, whoever you are, you say, Preacher, I've been in church my whole life, or preacher, this is one of the first times I've been in church. It doesn't matter. Can I say, if you do not know that you're saved, I want you to know something. You can find God if you search for Him. If you seek him, He's here.

He's available. God made a promise all the way back then. Guess what? He is still able to be found when you seek him. Notice, if you would, Deuteronomy chapter 4, verse 7.

And I love this. For what nation is there so great who hath God so nigh unto them as the Lord our God is in all things that we call upon him for? God said, if you seek me, you can find me. And what does it say in Deuteronomy? Is any nation so blessed?

I mean, isn't it so wonderful that our God is so close to us that when we call him, he's there. And dear friend, I want you to know that's what great God he is. When you need him and you call him, he's there. Notice, if you would, promise number four. Look at Psalm 121.

God promised protection for his children. Look at verse 4. Behold, he that keepeth Israel. You say, preacher, why are we going with the book of Psalms?

Well, God made promises to Israel. And God said, Israel, here's what I'm going to do. And then now, look all the way in the book of Psalms. Here's David, and he's looking back to a promise that God had made. Behold, he that keepeth Israel.

God said, I'm going to protect you, Israel. I'm going to bring you out. You're going to be my people. I'm going to be your God. Notice what he says.

He that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep. The Lord is thy keeper. Verse 7: The Lord shall preserve thee from all evil. He shall preserve thy soul. The Lord shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth and even forevermore.

By the way, God still does that. God provides protection for his children.

Well, preacher, if God provides protection, then why do bad things happen? Why do tragedies happen? Oh, look at me, dear friend. You're looking at things in a very narrow perspective. You're looking at things through an earthly perspective.

God has made promises through a heavenly perspective. God has promised protection. Guess what? Our God never sleeps and He never slumbers. He keeps us.

I want you to notice promise number five. God promised that his mercy will never fail. You need to hear this in 1 Chronicles.

Now we're making our journey to 1 Chronicles 16. Look at verse 34. Oh, give thanks unto the Lord, for he is good. Here's a promise for his mercy. endureth forever.

Now, here's what's interesting. You say, well, this promise was made all the way back then to a different group of people. Yeah, but the promise wasn't this, his mercy will endure to you. What was the promise? His mercy will endure Forever.

So, guess what? Anytime that God claims an eternal promise, He keeps an eternal promise. I am here to tell you, guess what? You would have no reason to be here this morning if it wasn't for God's mercy. You and I would have no hope if it wasn't for God's mercy.

He has promised that it will endure. Forever. Can I give you another one? I want you to look at this in 2 Chronicles. A verse you're familiar with.

God promised something to Israel here in 2 Chronicles. God promised that their sin could be forgiven. that their prosperity could be restored. and that their nation could be healed.

Now listen to me. You need to see this promise.

So I know the passage, let's read it again. If my people What did God say? What is the promise we get all the way back through Abraham and then to Israel? You will be my people. I will be your God.

What does he say here? If my people, people. which are called by my name. Shall humble themselves and pray and seek. What did we say of the promise?

God says, if you seek me, you can find me. Notice how promises are built upon. Every time God makes a promise, it's a fulfillment of a promise before, and it's literally prophetic of a promise that he will keep in the future. And seek my face and turn from their wicked ways. Notice, then will I hear from heaven, promise, and I will forgive their sin, promise, and will heal their land.

Repentance opened the road to fellowship, to forgiveness, to blessing. And guess what? God still honors that. It's a promise. Say, Preacher, I can't stand where America's going.

Listen, I can't either. You can't control all of America, but you can control your home. And you can control you. And God says, if you humble yourself and pray and seek my face and turn from your wicked way, you'll be forgiven. You'll be healed.

I want you to notice another promise. In the book of Deuteronomy chapter 30. God, and here this is under the terms of the Mosaic covenant. We have the Abrahamic covenant. But here's the Mosaic covenant.

He promised prosperity to Israel. If they obey. But then he also promised destruction. If they disobey, he makes a covenant.

Now, notice this promise. Look at Deuteronomy 3, verse 15. See? I have set before thee this day life. And good.

and death and evil. Look at me. Kirwan Baptist Church, look at me. God has laid the exact same thing in front of you today. God offers you Life and good.

Or you can make your choice. There's death and evil. He's laid both before you. That's called grace. You and I deserve nothing but death and evil.

But God's given us a choice.

Now let's read the verse. Look at this. In that I command thee this day to love the Lord thy God. To walk in his ways, to keep his commandments and his statutes and his judgments, that thou mayest live and multiply. And the Lord thy God shall bless thee in the land whither thou goest to possess it.

But if thine heart turn away, So that thou wilt not hear. but shalt be drawn away and worship other gods. and serve them. And guess what Israel did? They chose wrong.

God said, Listen, if you follow me and you follow my word, listen, I'm going to bless you, but if you. refuse and you rebel and Guess what Israel did? Babylon came in. destroyed. God gives us another promise.

Number eight, I want you to see in Psalm chapter one. We make our journey back. Psalm is prophetic in different ways, but look at this passage that you're very familiar with. God promised blessing. To everybody that delights in his word.

Look at me, what happened to Israel? Israel didn't believe his word. Israel got away from his word. God promised, I'll give you life, I'll give you good, I'll give you blessing. But they didn't follow his word.

They didn't follow God, they rebelled. Guess what? Israel was destroyed. Israel went into captivity. But God made a promise.

I'm going to be your God. You're going to be my people. But he made a promise. Look at Psalm 11. Look at this.

I want you to get this. Blessed. is the man, it's a promise. Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. Blessed, how?

Why is he blessed? His delight. is in the law of the Lord. And in his law doth he meditate day and night. I want you to hear me.

This is a promise God gives. You delight in his word. You get in his word. You read his word. You follow his word with your life.

God makes a promise that you're going to be blessed. Notice this. I love this. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, bringing forth his fruit in his season. His leaf also shall not wither, and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.

Do you realize that whole passage is tied to delighting in his word? Simple faith brings simple rewards. God says, you follow my word, you read my word, love my word, meditate in my word, trust my word, obey my word. God says I'm gonna bless Guess what? That promise is still available to you today.

Look at me. He said it. Shall he not do it? He said it. Now, there's other men that have said things to you, and they didn't do it.

There's other men that have made some claims to you and they couldn't follow through. But he is not a man. And he is not the son of a man. He said it. Shall he not do it?

I want you to notice Principle number nine, I would say promise number nine. Proverbs chapter 3. God promises to direct our steps. If we submit. Look at Proverbs 3.5.

Trust in the Lord with all thine heart, and lean not in thine own understanding, and all thy ways acknowledge him. And here's a promise. He shall direct thy steps.

Some of you today, like, preacher, I got some decisions to make. I don't know what to do. I got a situation. I don't know what, oh, but God's made a promise. He will direct your steps.

But what does he say? Trust in them? Lean on them. Follow him. Obey him.

And all thy ways be. Acknowledge him. And God made a promise. I'll direct your steps. Look at me.

Some of you are in situations, and I've been there, you don't know what to do next. Guess what? You're not claiming the promises of God. God said, I'll direct your steps.

So if your steps are not being directed, it's not his fault, it's yours. Because he's made it available. It's a promise. Shall he not do it? Think of this, we're almost done in the Old Testament, and this is...

This is 11 out of 500, okay? Look at verse, aren't you glad I didn't do the 500?

Okay. Don't look at me like that. I'll give you a C D. By the way, that's our Christmas gift to everyone this year. Isaiah chapter 40, look at this promise number 10.

God promised to renew our strength. when we are weary. Anybody here today can be honest as a preacher, I'm weary. It's okay. You're too tired to raise your hand.

That's okay. How many of you say, listen, honestly, preacher? I'm worn out and I'm tired right now. Do you know whose hand's up? I'm tired.

I've been tired. for months. I'm weary. Look at this promise. I've had to claim it.

I've had to hold on to it. By the way, every one of these promises I've given you, I can make a whole sermon on. But I want you to get full of promises today. Look at this passage. Look at Isaiah 40, 29.

He giveth power to the faint. And to them that have no might. He increases strength, promise. But they that wait upon the Lord. What will he do?

Shall renew their strength. They shall mount up with wings as eagles. They shall run and not be weary. They shall walk and not faint. Are you weary?

Are you tired? Can I tell you something, God. has promised to give you strength. Don't give up, don't stop, don't quit, don't get angry. He's promised.

To give you shall he not Do it. Look at this last one. Nahum chapter 1 verse 7. God promised to be a stronghold for us. in difficult times.

The Lord is good. A stronghold In the day of trouble. And he knoweth them. That trust in him. God made a promise.

That when things get difficult When problems come, when struggles come. Not only that he would be there, but he would be a strong hold. What does that mean? It means he is what you hold on to. And he is strong.

It means you might give way, but if you hold on to him, he will never give way. He's a stronghold. in the day of trouble. are facing some trouble right now.

Some of you are going through some very difficult circumstances, some very difficult things. Here's a promise: He said it, shall he not do it? I will be a stronghold. in times of trouble. Let's jump to the New Testament real quick.

You see, he made some promises Israel. I'm going to be your God. You're going to be my people. I'm going to protect you. I'm going to give you life and good or death and evil.

And they chose. And God had to put them into captivity, but God freed him of that. He never left them, he never forsook them. He was always there when they needed him. When they called him, they could find him.

When they were able to seek for him, they could always find him. I want you to look if we get to the New Testament. Jesus has now come. He had his ministry here on earth. fulfillment of every prophecy that we're going to talk about next week.

A fulfillment of all the promises that were made. He came, he died, he was buried, and he rose again, he resurrected from the grave. And now we have Some more promises. I want you to notice, if you would, first, God promised salvation. to all who believe in his Son.

Let me say that again. God promised salvation. To all who believe in his Son. Can I have an amen right there? Let's not get over being saved, Kirwan Baptist Church.

The only reason you know you're saved is because he made a promise. You're not saved because you're good. You're not saved because you came to an altar. Look at me. You're saved because you put your faith and trust in.

What is that? Is that like. Did y'all see that? I didn't know cows flew. Look at that thing.

Goodness gracious. The only reason you're saved is because God said you would be. When you put your faith and trust in him. Look at this verse, Romans 1.16. For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God unto salvation.

Listen to me here, to everyone that believeth.

Now, I'm going to tell you something, I'm not going to get on my little hobby horse today, but I am not a Calvinist. And you better be careful nowadays because Calvinism is slipping into places you don't think it is. And guys will take verses that talk about the chosen, and they're going to confuse you about that. And you need to remember the clarity. What did God say?

God said, I'm afraid that Satan will rock. The greatest news that anyone can receive is the news of the free gift of salvation found in Jesus Christ. It is our desire for you to know him personally. Would you take a moment to hear this today? Every man is born with the sin nature.

Romans 3.23 says, For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. No matter how hard we try, We're not good enough to obtain God's glory. or to get to heaven. Because of that, sin carries the penalty of death. Romans 6.23 says, For the wages of sin is death.

But the gift of God is eternal life, through Jesus Christ our Lord. The wages of our sin, or the payment of our sin, only equals death and separation from God. But it's only through God's Gift. salvation through Jesus Christ that we can accept him as our Saviour. Jesus Christ paid for your sin debt.

The Bible says in Romans 5:8, But God commendeth his love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. All you have to do is receive Christ. by faith as your Saviour. Romans ten nine says That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. Verse 13 continues, For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

It's as simple as admitting that you're a sinner believing that Jesus is the only way. and calling upon his name. Bible says whosoever, that's any one. can call upon the name of the Lord to be saved. Have you accepted Christ as your personal Savior?

There is no greater day than today to take care of this. Would you accept Christ as your Savior? If you have any questions, please give us a call at 336-993-5192 or visit our website at Curlin Baptist Church. Dot com. or visits that person at one of our three service times.

We hope you have a great rest of your day. God bless you. Mm-hmm.
