Welcome to the Kerwin Baptist Church broadcast today. Our desire is for the Word of God to be spread throughout the world.

So that all may know Christ. Join us now for a portion of one of our services here at Kerwin Baptist Church, located in Kernersville, North Carolina. Hey, Lord, we love you. They had a message of comfort. And the angel said unto them: First off, when announcing Jesus, the Savior is coming, what did he say?

Fear. Not.

Now let me say this to us as believers. The presence of Jesus does not mean the absence of problems. Are you listening to me? The presence of Jesus does not mean there will be no problems. In fact, The presence of Jesus does not mean there will be the absence of burdens.

It never says that because of the presence of Jesus, because Jesus has come, because if you've been saved by the grace of God and Jesus lives in you, listen to me, it doesn't mean that there's an absence of trouble. It doesn't mean that there's an absence of disappointment. But may I say this to all of us who are saved? The presence of Jesus in our life does mean that there can be the absence of fear. Fear not.

Listen, we don't get to the point that we don't fear because we don't have problems. It's not that we don't fear because we don't have burdens, we don't have disappointments, we don't have sickness, we have all that. The presence of Jesus doesn't take away all those things. But what the presence of Jesus in your life should mean is that we don't have to fear. Fear has taken over Christians.

Fear has taken over our society. And may I say that you and I should be wise. We should be aware. We should be watching. We shouldn't be gullible.

We ought to be biblical. But may I say something? From the moment Jesus was announced, I'm announcing to you today the presence of Jesus in your life. should take care of your fear. Notice not just the message of comfort.

Notice, secondly. A message of hope. Fear not. For behold I bring you good. Tidings.

Now, let me just say this: there was a lot of unknowns to these shepherds. There were a lot of unanswered questions, there was a lot of what-ifs. But the angel said clearly, I'm not going to answer all your questions and I'm not going to explain everything, but what I have to say does give hope. And may I say to you as believers, listen, there's going to be a lot of things in our life that maybe our questions aren't going to be answered. I mean, these shepherds had a lot of questions.

We know where they ended up. They didn't end up in the right place looking for him. They're following a star. They're going based on prophecy that they had read. They had all kinds of things in their life that wasn't necessarily clear.

It wasn't concise. God hadn't explained everything. But what they did have, because of the presence of Jesus coming, was hope. And I want to remind you today, if you have Jesus, you have hope. You might have some unanswered questions, and you might have some things in your life that God just hasn't totally explained, and God hadn't laid out exactly how it will turn out.

But it is good tidings, and there is hope to the believer. You know, Christmas time can be a time where things are magnified. When you're lonely, you're double lonely at Christmas. When you're happy, you're double happy at Christmas. You're agitated, you're double agitated at Christmas.

When you're broke, You're triple broke at Christmas. The Christmas season magnifies things. People going through a hard times, they're worse at Christmas. People going through the breaking of a relationship, it's worse. at Christmas.

I appreciate our ladies working hard to provide grief share and things. The reason we like to do it this time of the year is because you can go through something in June, but it is magnified in December. But may I say to you that know Christ There's hope. It might not be the answer to everything, and it might not answer every one of your questions. And there might be a lot of unknowns like there were for the shepherds.

But in the middle of all the unknowns, because it's Jesus, there is hope. Notice number three. We see it was a message of joy. He said, Fear not, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great. Joy.

Now, may I say something? I don't know if you've ever seen this in this particular passage because you're so familiar with it. But joy here is the fulfillment of that hope. Are you are you with me? Fear not, I bring you good tidings.

And those good tidings. bring great joy. Joy is the fulfillment of that hope. Why? Because the good tidings, the hope, was about Jesus.

And can I tell you something in your life? Joy comes from Jesus. And if your fulfillment is in Jesus, there will be great. Joy.

If your hope Is in Christ.

Now, look at me. If your hope is in earthly circumstances and those circumstances don't work out right, you're not going to have joy. If your fulfillment, your hope in life is based on a relationship or a person and they don't do everything you think they should do, guess what? You're not going to have joy. But if your hope is in Christ, it doesn't matter what happens in relationships.

It doesn't matter what happens in circumstances. It doesn't matter what happens to the pocketbook or the finances. It doesn't matter what happens at the doctor's office. Your hope is not in a doctor's office. Your hope is not in money.

Your hope is not in things. Your hope is not in people. Your hope is in the presence of Jesus Christ. And that brings great joy. You say I don't have great joy over the holidays.

Whose fault's that? Don't take that hard. And don't take it mean. But if there's not great joy, That's not Jesus' fault. He gave you everything you need.

To have great joy. He can't. came to you. The reason you don't have great joy is because you have placed your hope. in something other than Christ.

And anything other than Christ. cannot be trusted. It is not eternal. It is not stable. The good tidings.

brought great joy. because the good tidings. was the announcement of Jesus Christ. It was a message of comfort, fear not. It was a message.

Of I bring you good tidings, a message of hope. It was a message of joy. But I want you to notice last, and this is all just kind of appetizers, take it or leave it, but number four. I want you to see this. It was a message of inclusion.

Doesn't matter how great this message is, if it's not available to you, it's not a great message. Hello?

Now I feel like you're in the Christmas spirit today. Not in church spirit, you're in Christmas spirit. You're worn out, you're broke, you're tired, you're frustrated. You're looking at me like you know what? And guess what?

I've been through it too this week. But we're talking about Jesus Christ. What did he say? For unto you is born this day In the city of David, a Savior Which is Christ the Lord.

Now, let's trace this all back. Notice if you would. Verse 11. Give me verse 10. Which Shall be to all people.

Fear not. Behold, I bring you good tidings, hope, of great joy. But here's the difference maker. This is what changes everything. which shall be to certain people.

Doesn't say that, does it? I would love for my Calvinist friends to hear this.

Well, God knows exactly who's going to be saved, so it's only available to those He knows is going to be saved. That's a lie. The angels announced the coming of Jesus. And said, first it's a message of comfort. Fear not.

It's a message of hope. I bring you good tidings. It's a message of joy, which shall be to all people. But listen to me with great joy. But all people means all people.

It means all races. Yeah. It means all neighborhoods. It means all colors, however you want to describe it. It's to all people.

It's a message of inclusion. Not everybody is going to take it. Not everybody is going to accept it. Not everybody is going to believe it. But he came.

For all. You ought to be excited about that today. It didn't say, which shall be to rich people. It didn't say which shall be two smart people. It didn't say which shall be to a certain race of people.

Which shall be To all you People. Message of inclusion. Because of that, Look at verse 11. Unto you. is born.

Listen, you wouldn't know for sure if it was for you if it wasn't to all people. But because he came to all people I can say to every person here this morning, individually and personally. For unto you. is born. How do you know what's unto you?

Because he said it's for all people. And it's for all people, it means it's for me. And if it's for all people, it means it's for you. For unto you is born this day. A message of inclusion.

Now, I want you to notice, and really, our message today is in verse 11. And I want you to see this. What did the angels say? For unto you. is born this day in the city of David.

A Savior. Which is Christ the Lord. Under this message of inclusion, I want you to notice first They call Jesus Savior. Savior is a title. of acceptance.

You see, because Jesus is the Savior. It means he is willing to accept you. It's a title of acceptance. Verse 10 says, all people. Verse 11 says, unto you.

Jesus came to be the Savior of all people. If he is a savior and it's to all people, that means savior is a title of acceptance. It means I don't care what you've done, where you've been, what mistakes you've made today, Jesus is willing to accept you. Listen, forget the tree and the gifts. This is the greatest thing about Christmas.

That he is willing to accept you. Listen to me: Jesus' mission was not just to save the wealthy or the righteous, he came to set the sinner free. The people that no one else would accept, the people that the religious organizations of Jesus' time had nothing to do with-that's who he came to save. A title of acceptance. Let me show you some verses.

Luke 19:10. For the Son of Man is come to seek and to save that which is lost. Saviors come to save those who are lost. It doesn't say certain ones of the lost. It means that he came to save any that are lost.

And if he can save any that are lost, that means it's available to any person. It's available to all people. It's available to you. He's a savior, and it's a title of acceptance. Can you imagine the Son of God accepting us.

Mark chapter 2, verse 17. Look at this. When Jesus heard it, he said unto them, They that are whole have no need of the physician, but they that are sick. I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to call. repentance.

Our Savior brings acceptance. He brings deliverance. He brings salvation. Listen to me. Jesus did not come as the judge, although he is the great judge.

Jesus did not come as the king, although he is the king of kings and lord of lords. He came as a Savior. If he came as the judge, you might be stuck. If he came as the king, you might not be able to approach him. But he came.

as the Saviour. A title. of acceptance. You say, Well, can I have another verse? I'm glad you asked.

Some of you are like, I didn't ask, but I'm going to give it to you anyway. Those of you who ever heard this verse before. It's in the book of John, chapter 3. Verse 16. For God so loved who?

Who does that mean? Just certain ones? For God so loved All people. Unto you. For God shall love the world.

that he gave his only begotten son that Whosoever Believed in him shall not perish. Savior. Is for whosoever. Savior is for the whole world. Savior is for all people.

Savior is unto you. It's a title. of acceptance. Some of you here this morning might have people in your life that no longer accept you. You might have family.

that no longer accept you. But the good news is The Great Tidings. The hope that you have that can fill you with great joy is that Jesus. is our Savior. And that means you are accepted.

Who is he who are the angels announcing to here? Um Shepherds. Shepherds were not a high point of society. They were the outcast of society. They were not highly respected.

They were Dirty men. Filthy men, a rough life. All that, they weren't the ones invited to the parties or the palace. But that's who Jesus was announced to. Why?

Because let's go to the lowest of the low and let them know. Jesus. is available to you. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, notice secondly, which is. Christ.

You see, they, in this message of inclusion, Savior. Is a title of acceptance, but notice secondly, Christ is a title of access. Because of Jesus Christ. We have access to some things that we no longer Or we didn't have access to before he came. You see, this announcement that a Savior would be coming and that the Savior is Christ means not only are we accepted, but we have access.

To some things we did not have access to. Before. which is Christ. May I say something? Jesus came to do more than just provide simple salvation.

He came to allow us access into the very presence of Almighty God. We're not just accepted despite who we are. We now have access because of who he is. I don't think you understand this all quite yet. Let me explain it.

Number one. Christ allows me to approach the Father. I now have access. I can approach God the Father. Look at this verse, Hebrews 4:14.

Seeing then that We have a great high priest, who's that? Jesus Christ, that has passed into the heavens. Jesus The Son of God. Let us therefore come boldly. Under the throne of grace.

How come we can come to the throne? And not only why can we go to the throne, but why can we go to the throne boldly like we belong? Because, this verse says, because of Jesus Christ. That we may obtain mercy. Do you need mercy?

Well, the reason you have access to God's mercy is because of Jesus. That we may find mercy. What does the verse say? And... Grace.

Do you need grace? I need it every second of every day. The only reason you have access to grace is because of Jesus Christ. Jesus allows me to approach The father. Second.

Christ allows me to Appeal. to the Father. Look at John chapter 16, verse 23. Look at this. Verily, verily, I say unto you: whatsoever ye shall ask.

The father In my name. He will give it to you. Do you get it? We have not just access to God the Father. But I can appeal to God the Father.

Because of Jesus Christ. Yeah, and it's not. I couldn't do it without him. I couldn't approach the Father without him. I certainly couldn't bring my needs and my desires to the Father, but because of Jesus Christ in His name.

He'll answer my prayers. Christ allows me to approach the Father. Christ allows me to appeal to the Father. Notice last, Christ is who makes me accepted by The Father.

Now we know because he's Savior, it means we're accepted of Jesus Christ. But what about God the Father? Look at this verse, Romans 5:1. Therefore. being justified by faith.

We have peace. With God. Through Our Lord Jesus Christ. Any questions? By whom also?

So We have access. By faith. Into this grace. wherein we stand. Are are you getting it this morning?

Savior is a title of acceptance. This was a message of inclusion. Listen to me, you've got to understand this. I literally have access to God the Father only because of Jesus. I have the ability to appeal to God the Father only because of Jesus.

And I am 100% totally accepted into the family by the Father because of Jesus Christ. By the way, do you know what the name Christ Refers to? It refers to Jesus. The anointed Hi. Priest.

He addresses the Father on our behalf. He talks to the Father on our behalf, Hebrews 7. He pleads our case before God the Father in 1 John chapter 2. May I say something today? Christ is a title of access.

Savior is the title of being accepted, but Christ is not just the one who accepts us. Christ is the one who has given us access to everything, to all spiritual blessings in heavenly places. It's all because of Christ. And the angel was letting these shepherds. Know that.

And in 2023, The angel of the church.

Some of you, I guess, don't get that. You're looking at me like, is he serious about this? Do you remember my whole series in Revelation 2? The pastor was called the angel of the church. You know, my wife told me I'm an angel the other day.

She says I'm always up in the air harping, you know, like Nick and all the, you know, kind of a thing. But I'm announcing to you. That this is not just a message of comfort, a message of hope, a message of joy. But more importantly, as great as it would be that it's a message of comfort and hope and joy, it wouldn't do you any good if it wasn't available to you. But he said, which shall be to all people.

That changes everything. Right. A title of acceptance. Christ. A title of access.

Once you notice third The Lord. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior. which is Christ Notice this third title. The Lord. The Lord is a title of authority.

Savior is a title of acceptance. He came to all. Christ is a title of access. He's given us access to the throne of God. But Lord is a title of authority.

The word Lord here is the word curios. Guess what it means? It means master. controller, supreme in authority. When the angel called Jesus Lord.

He was referring to the one. who is to be in absolute control. Are you with me? Say amen.

Now, don't get this confused.

Some people say you can't get saved until you make Jesus Lord of your life. He's Lord of your life whether you make him that or not. Yeah, one seven minutes. Lord means Jesus. is end control.

And you and I should make sure. that he has access to total control. of our lives. Why? Because he is Lord.

This title of our Lord as a reminder to every person in this building. that Jesus is to be the absolute authority in your life.

Now that's not popular.

Nowadays. Give you some verses. Everything I would say wouldn't mean anything if I didn't have a verse. If you've noticed, I try to give you verses. 1 Corinthians chapter 8, look at verse 5 here.

For though there be that are called gods. Whether in heaven or in earth, as there be gods many, and Lord's mini. Notice little G, little L. But to us There is but one God. The father Of whom are all things, and we in him, and one Lord Jesus Christ.

By whom are all things And we by him. What does that mean? He's in control. He's the one in authority, not us. Him.

Let me give you another verse. Verse 12. in our passage where we are reading. I love this. And this shall be a sign.

Unto you. What's a sign unto you today? The angel said that Jesus was Savior. He was Christ. And he's lord.

That you're accepted by Jesus, you're given access by Jesus. But you are under the authority of Jesus Christ. Can I give you some good tidings today? Can I bring you a message? of hope.

Can I bring you a message of great joy? When Jesus was announced, It was a message of comfort. By the way, Jesus. is your comfort. Yeah, I think it's a good idea.

By the way, Jesus is your hope. It was a message of joy. By the way, Jesus is your joy. The joy of the Lord is our very strength. But most importantly, today, I want you to know this: it was a message of inclusion.

which shall be to all people. The greatest news that anyone can receive is the news of the free gift of salvation found in Jesus Christ. It is our desire for you to know him personally. Would you take a moment to hear this today? Every man is born with a sin nature.

Romans three twenty three says For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. No matter how hard we try, we're not good enough to obtain God's glory. or to get to heaven. Because of that, sin carries the penalty of death. Romans 6.23 says, for the wages of sin is death.

But the gift of God is eternal life. through Jesus Christ our Lord. The wages of our sin, or the payment of our sin, only equals death and separation from God. But it's only through God's gift salvation through Jesus Christ that we can accept Him as our Savior. Jesus Christ paid for your sin debt.

The Bible says in Romans 5:8, But God commendeth his love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. All you have to do is receive Christ. by faith as your Saviour. Romans 10.9 says, That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. Verse 13 continues For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

It's as simple as admitting that you're a sinner believing that Jesus is the only way. and calling upon his name. Bible says whosoever that's anyone can call upon the name of the Lord to be saved. Have you accepted Christ as your personal Savior? There is no greater day than today to take care of this.

Would you accept Christ as your Savior? If you have any questions, please give us a call at 336-993-5192 or visit our website at CurwinBaptastChurch.com. or visits that person at one of our three service times. We hope you have a great rest of your day. God bless you.

Mm-hmm.
