It is! The JR Sportbree Show here with you coast to coast on the Infinity Sports Network. I'm coming to you live from Atlanta, Georgia.

Thank you to everybody tuned in and locked in all over North America. I hope you had a great Wednesday. Damn it, it's Wednesday. It's hump day. It's time to get you over the hump.

I'm gonna get you over the hump. I'll be hanging out with you for the next four hours. This is when the show gets started. Every weekday, 6 p.m. Eastern, 3 Pacific. I am in Atlanta, Georgia.

Like I said, super producer and host Ryan Hickey. He's in New York City. Wherever you are, I hope you're well. I hope you're having a good day, a great afternoon, a great evening. I hope you're enjoying the extra sunshine that we have at this time of the year. And you know what? I'm gonna bring you some sunshine.

I'll try my best. Speaking of sunshine, we'll hear from this guy in a second. All he does is bring sunshine to the world. His name is Russell Wilson. He was introduced to the New York Giant fans today, the New York media market. And I'm just like, this is kind of underwhelming. We'll hear from Russell Wilson in a second just to see what type of corny sunshine he's trying to bring to New York City.

How about this? LeBron James. He spoke to Pat McAfee yesterday. The interview aired today. And LeBron James, I haven't heard him this candid, this relaxed in an interview setting. It was actually refreshing to hear from LeBron James. We'll tell you some of the things he said next hour, like Stephen A. Smith, his relationship with Michael Jordan. If there is a relationship with Michael Jordan, the thoughts on his son, what Bronny is doing, when he might retire. LeBron James, shout out to Pat McAfee, a good conversation.

How about this? Talking about legends. Next hour, we're going to be joined by a basketball legend. She, yes, she is one of the greatest women's basketball players of all time. She's one of the most accomplished basketball players of all time. We got Lisa Leslie, who's going to come through and join us. I'm going to ask her about the women's tournament, the men's tournament. Obviously, she played at USC and we saw what happened with Juju Watkins and her words on a for Angel Reese and Kaitlin Clark. So there's a lot to get into with another legend.

Lisa Leslie will be here to join us next hour. Jimmy Butler thinks he's a legend. He laid an egg yesterday. And of course this is, oh, Alexander Ovechkin.

He didn't lay an egg. He added to his, his goal hall yesterday and a loss, but looks like he's going to break that record this year. And of course it's Wednesday. Every single Wednesday, I bring you a new top six list.

Today will be no different. We're going to take a look at the top six college coaches of all time. I don't care what sport you could throw the ball, hit the ball, shoot the ball, kick the ball. I don't know, whatever you do with the ball. I'm going to tell you about the top six college coaches of all time. We'll do that two hours from now. Of course, at the end of the show, we'll go through a few things that took place this day in sports history today, all day, it's been March 26th, 2025. You want to be a part of the show?

You can. We pay our bills. Our phone is connected. We got a new number and not, it's not because we didn't pay our bills, but we got a new number. 888-710-4ISN.

That's 888-710-4ISN. You can find me online. I'm everywhere at JR Sport Brief. Ryan Hickey, how are you on this Wednesday, this hunt day? Doing great.

Doing great. Sunshine is out. Like you said, the day is longer. It's just another great day to be alive, JR. Right? The birds chirping on your way to work today?

Oh yeah. Birds are out there. They're back from the south, ready to go for a nice little New York City spring.

Hey, hey, hey, hey. Our birds stayed here, okay? I'm jealous.

Look, I wish I lived in a place where I didn't have to leave. Yeah, well, our birds stayed here. You got birds from, I guess, Florida or something like that. I don't know. That's right.

Well, I guess we're, you know, what do they say? I'm assuming they start here, then go down, you know, vacation for the summer. You think all birds migrate? No, no.

Okay. But I think the birds up here migrate. Most of them. Listen, I've seen dirty pigeons shivering in the street in wintertime. They don't go anywhere. I would love for them to migrate. They do not. That's the one bird I think everyone wants to migrate.

Pick up a migration. Those flying rats, they puff up and then they just shiver in the cold. I'm like, hey, they got a, they got a bubble jacket just like me. Yeah, I don't think they can fly also more than like two blocks.

Maybe that's the reason why they don't, they didn't tough it out. I've seen a New York City pigeon smoke a cigarette, so. Gotta stay warm for six. It would not surprise me if a New York City pigeon didn't leave, but this is all stuff that Russell Wilson, I assume, is going to have to get used to. Uh, now being a member of the New York Giants and, and what I feel is one of the most underwhelming press conferences and introductions I've ever seen. It looks like they put Russell Wilson in a basement, put a step and repeat behind this guy. It said New York Giants, and they made him do like one gigantic zoom call.

Now let's be real. This is a New York Giants. This is a football program that's worth billions and billions of dollars. If they wanted to have a fancy introductory press conference, if Russell Wilson wanted to have a fancy introductory press conference, he could, he sat on a zoom call, slightly blurry, blurry because I mean, not everybody's zoom is a 1,000,080 P. It just seemed underwhelming. I wonder if it was Russell's decision or the decision of the New York Giants. Cause I mean, if you're Russell Wilson and you're now going on three, Oh damn it. Wow.

Oh, well might as well. We had three teams in the past three years. If you stunk for the past four, Russell Wilson has a record of 23 and 32 as a starter. The last four seasons, if I got that record, maybe I don't deserve a fancy press conference. We didn't get no, uh, no fancy New York sayings. We didn't get anything crazy out of Russell. He just fed us the same thing.

I mean, what you're about to hear from his introductory press meeting might as well been the same thing. He said when he got to Pittsburgh or when he got to Denver, Russell Wilson is just plug and play at this point in time. A matter of fact, he talked about his excitement in joining the New York Giants. Coming here, obviously being in New York is exciting place to play. It's a place that wants to win as a place that knows how to win and has won before. And so for me, it's, it's bringing everything I know, all the experiences, all the touchdowns, all the wins, but also all the love and passion for the game.

Same thing. I could have played that last year and been like, Hey, this is Russell Wilson. When he joined the Pittsburgh Steelers, listen to what Russell Wilson has to say.

And that could have fit in anywhere. And of course, last year and joining the Pittsburgh Steelers, he had a little bit of competition, I guess, and Justin Fields, Mike Tomlin told everybody that Russell Wilson would have pole position and being quarterback number one, but it would be a competition. Well, we got Jameis Winston on the New York Giants. We got Tommy DeVito on the New York Giants. Is this another competition or Hey, Russell, do you expect to be quarterback number one in New York City?

Yeah, I expect to be a starter and come in here and be ready to rock and roll every day. I think to get a lead, I think this team's really looking for somebody to lead them in every way in terms of the process, you know, in the off season, during the season, our habits and our thought process and how we create a, you know, a great winning culture. Okay.

All right. He's going to help create, he can help create a great winning culture, but ultimately I don't see the New York Giants winning. Look, the goal is to win a Superbowl. Russell Wilson is a bridge towards that. The New York Giants aren't going to wake up and go, Oh, let's invest, you know, the next two and three and four years and Russell Wilson to lead us to a title. The guy's on a one year contract. They're paying him $1 million.

It can reach $20 million with incentives. This is a stop gap. And so they figure out who the future is. I mentioned to this, this to you last night, if you're a Brian day bowl and Joe Shane, the general manager, you're just throwing crap up against the wall and basically trying to see what sticks at this point. Apparently the New York Giants aren't all that excited or enamored in having a massive press conference for Russell Wilson. I think if they invited the New York media out to meet him, I think they would show up, not just on zoom, but they handled this kid.

Like he was a stepchild. Like, yeah, we got them here, but we don't really like him. So meet him because this may not work out.

Just say hello and say, hi, ask him some questions. And then let's just keep it moving because he might be going next year. And so will we, and the less crap that we have for people to consume the better into the shock of, of no one. You know, Hickey, I mentioned this last night. I said, Russell Wilson, when he shows up, it's going to be hilarious. And you said he has to do it soon. I said, Russell Wilson is going to have to just go to every event possible.

Go to Broadway, go see the Knicks. He has to go here. He has to go there.

The guy said, Hickey, he said, he's going to a New York Knicks game. Oh, he did let the world know already. He's going.

Oh my God. Of course he is. Is he going to, he's probably, is he probably going to go to Yankees opening day tomorrow too, right?

And a Yankee hat. Oh, he has to first pitch. Oh my God. It hasn't even been 24 hours and the guys just basically he's, he's unbearable. And by the way, nobody asked him what he was doing tonight or tomorrow.

They were asking him about football and Russell Wilson basically volunteered to everybody. He's like, Hey, I got a basketball comparison to you. And Oh yeah, by the way, and Oh yeah, by the way, I'm going to the next game tonight.

Listen to this crap. He used to always say simple wins. You know, sometimes it's the little things that you do well. You know, if I use basketball terms, you know, I get to go to the Knicks game tonight.

I'm excited to go watch them play. But at the end of the day, you gotta make your free throws and layups. And I think the same thing in football. Oh yeah.

Yeah. I got to make my free throws and layups. He's talking about his connection to Malik neighbors and somehow, some way he snuck in the fact he's going to go see the Knicks and the Clippers. Good luck to Russell Wilson.

He's a, he's a stop gap. If his body lasts, you know, I would absolutely love. And I said this last night, I would love to see Chador Sanders playing for the New York giants. I love to see the New York giants take Chador, put them on the team kind of. And then we saw this with the Falcons make Russell Wilson sit around for a little while and then just, just not, not rush your door, but the New York giants deserve, they deserve a star just like everybody else.

They're throwing crap up against the wall. And I think that best case for Joe Shane to kind of say, Hey, I got the quarterback of the future. You got to let me keep my job is to still draft another quarterback.

And Hickey, we talked about this last night. You, you think there's still a possibility they draft Chador? You think it's a lot of nonsense?

I think it's a lot of nonsense. Just when you look at signing Jamis and Rust in the span of what, 72 hours, I think you signed Jamis. If you plan on drafting a quarterback, at least for me, the signing of Russ screams, either they think they won't be able to draft Chador or they don't think that they, or they just don't like them.

Oh boy. Look, New York giants. They need a quarterback.

Like if you're going to trust and hope in, in Russell Wilson, that's, that's not good. Now I got to tell you this, but one of my good buddies, DJ Sturgis from down here in Atlanta, Georgia, host on, on V one Oh three Hickey. I see Sturgis all the time when I'm in the studio, he's a huge, huge sports fan.

Uh, he jumped into the, well, he didn't jump into the studio. Him and I were just talking sports and he told me, he filled me in on the rumors. Sturgis, tell everybody who you are and what you do.

I probably gave you a terrible explanation. Uh, yeah. DJ Sturgis, media personality, podcaster, DJ, all of that, uh, here in the city of Atlanta on V one Oh three. Uh, yeah.

The dripping sauce in this girl, man. Okay. That hard sports fan as well.

Absolutely. Now Sturgis. Now when I walked in, you were asking me about the Chador and you were like, did you hear this rumor with the Dallas Cowboys and the Browns?

And what was it? Uh, the Browns and the Cowboys are allegedly in discussions for the Browns to trade away their number two pick for Dak Prescott to the Cowboys. Man.

That's, that's crazy. And I saw, you told me that I saw it on sports illustrated, uh, Cleveland sports broadcaster, Bruce Drennan said this on, on his show. Now you just heard what Hickey said and I just, I would love to see Chador in the New York giants. You think it makes sense for the Dallas Cowboys to move Dak when they already got a paid to Sean and Cleveland?

Yeah. Cause I mean, it's two big contracts regardless. It's just that the Cowboys, they'll be on the back end of a big contract. Whereas the Browns will still be on the front end of it. But if you want to go ahead and make this trade, we can do that. You know, I would personally, if I, if I'm Jerry Jones and the Cowboys, I would do that.

And I will still draft Chador at number two. So, um, Hickey you here too, right? Of course, Hickey's here. Oh yeah. I'm here. Now let me, let me, let me try to do some math in my brain.

Three heads are better than one. I think if the dumb Cleveland Browns already paying Deshaun Watson, when they got to pay this guy, what is he, what is he making like 40 more over the next two years? Is that it?

Yeah. It's like over a hundred, I think, or 96 the next two years left on the deal. 96 over the next two years of the deal. And then you got Dak Prescott on the other side. Dak is out here and he's on, uh, he's making now 60 mill a year. And so it makes sense for the Dallas Cowboys to reset by swallowing the backend of Deshaun's deal, then drafting a quarterback.

And now the Browns have the quarterback of the future with Dak. Is that, is that making sense? Is that it? Yeah.

It makes sense to me. I mean, like as far as the Browns go, they should have never gave Deshaun that big of a contract. He's a pervert. You know what I'm saying? $250 million guaranteed.

Come on, come on. Coming off the season that he had, you know, he sat out a whole year and he still got that much money. So he didn't sit out.

They told him that you need to sit down. Either way, they are known for making foolish decisions. So if I'm the Cowboys and you want to do something like this, go ahead. Let's do it. Right. Cause now Jerry Jones looks like a genius. Hey, well he'll eat the backend of the money.

I'm cool with that. And now he's bringing in Deon's son. Yes. And it's the most Cowboys thing ever. And in the Browns, at least now Miles Garrett looks like a genius because they told him he's going to compete, I guess, with Dak, semi-compete.

I don't know. Hey, either way, we got you some tools to do what you do. At the end of the day, it's only a difference when it comes to the money. As far as play wise, if Deshaun starts the whole season for the Cowboys, he's not going to do no worse than Dak did.

And vice versus Dak being on the Browns. They needed to cut that man open twice. I don't know. He, he may not be able to come back.

Hickey. When, when do you think he'd return? 2026. He just got the Achilles surgery. What? April? Uh, what do we, we're in March, February, January.

Now he's engaged as well. I mean, I don't know. Yeah. Congratulations. He might be busy, man. I don't, I don't know.

Hickey. What do you, I would look, look, I'm here for all the drama. I mean, there's, you put your door Sanders in New York. That's a crazy situation. You put him with the Dallas Cowboys. That's equally a crazy situation. And we know the Browns and Sturgis said the Browns are dumb as hell.

They brought in a pervert and gave him guaranteed money. What do you think? You think that would make sense? I think on the surface, when you just kind of put all the contracts aside.

Yes. I think it makes sense. Honestly, for both sides, it gives, I think each side, what you're looking for Cowboys a little bit of a reset because they're technically in a win now window, but they're nowhere close to actually winning right now. Get a young quarterback in there and try to reset your timeline.

And for the Browns, I mean, you just get out from under this hell hole that you're in with a quarterback that can get to the playoffs with a roster. It's still pretty good if they're healthy and you could start to gain some competence back. I think the issue is just when you look at both contracts of Dak and of Deshaun, I just, I think they're both untradeable.

Like, I don't think that you would actually be able to like actually, even though it's kind of a swap trade them and still be able to make moves that you want. I think that's really where this, the issue comes in. When you look at how much money, both the road, massive dead cap hit that would really just critically hurt your ability to add anything to your team for the next two years.

I think that's where the issue comes in. Well, the Dallas Cowboys, they'd have a reset with, well, they'd be expiring, letting that guy's contract expire in regards to Watson. And he's making less money annually than Dak is.

And then you'd have a rookie quarterback on a rookie contract in, in Chador. And so I don't know, you know what, we'll talk more about this. I see Bruce Drennan, he mentioned this on his show. Let's, uh, later on in the show, we'll listen to what Bruce had to say about this trade. He's gung ho on this. He says the Browns are negotiating as we speak with the Cowboys for trade with Dak Prescott.

Now, do I know, hell no, I don't know. I'm not sitting around making trades. I'm just sitting in this box here in Atlanta. Hey, hey, Sturgis, appreciate you jumping on, man. Appreciate y'all having me. No, no doubt.

We got to have Sturgis on a more often Sturgis. Where can people find you and all that good stuff? I mean, you can find me on all the social media platforms at DJ Sturgis, and you can also find me on YouTube, um, sauce TV.

All right. Tap in with no, do you, you quarterback good arm quarterback? No, I mean, I, I played quarterback one year, you know, I won team MVP, but you know, I'm, I'm a skill player, you know, I want to see your quarterback. Oh wow. You know, Hickey was a wide receiver, right? Hickey. You think you would be better than Sturgis or what? I don't, I mean, I'm not fast. I do get the hands.

I think they still are here a few years later, but that's all I got. Got the solid hands possession receiver. That's great.

Well, y'all are both eligible for the Cleveland Browns because they're idiots. Hey, Sturgis. I'll let you, my man.

Thank you, brother. No doubt. That's a DJ Sturgis big time here in Atlanta.

V one Oh three people's station. Oh yeah. That's that'd be a hell of a trade if it were to go down. Uh, I think that'd be dope.

Hickey. I'm just here for all of the drama. I'm here for it. I need drama. We didn't get none from Russell Wilson. And why didn't they give this guy a proper press conference? They don't like him, right?

Not really. Well, who do you think rushed it? He did. I got to get to the next game. We got to tell them I'm going so people can look for me. Let's do it right now. Just screw it.

Put the zoom on and let's do it. You think Russell, you think it was Russell's idea not to sit in front of humans? Well, think about it, right? He needs every day. If the giants do draft shador, if we got, I mean, he has a month of fame of walking around the keys, the starting quarterback. I mean, Jeff, you did this next week. That's three weeks of like, let's go.

He knows the clock has taken you potentially. So basically everybody between the New York giants and Russell Wilson, everybody walking on eggshells right now, that's just what it is. Oh yeah. Nobody wants to be embarrassed over the next month.

The next three months, the next six months, the next year. And so everybody's just like tempering expectations. This is like, what do they call it now, Hickey? When you have a new, you slow break the relationship, right? Or like you, you soft, you soft launch a relationship. That's what it is. Yeah. I was gonna say, I've never heard of a soft break.

That sounds awful. A soft launch. Slowly break up with someone. Just be, I guess, a dirt bag and just hope that they eventually leave. Soft launch.

Soft launch. You know, maybe a little hand in the background. You're out there at a bar, take pictures of two drinks, not just one. And then three weeks later you go, boom, here he is. There he is.

Full frontal. Like with what Tiger Woods just did with the ex Trump lady, right? Right. Except usually most normal people don't ask that for privacy.

Once they say, here's my new girlfriend or boyfriend, please respect my privacy at this time. Yeah. Yeah.

Yeah. We know Tiger Woods is, he is not a normal individual. Good luck to everybody in new relationships.

Okay. Good luck to Tiger Woods. Good luck to Russell Wilson.

Good luck to the New York giants. Relationships are tough people, especially coming out of the holidays. Happens.

Find somebody new. It's spring. Spring is springing.

Okay. It's the JR sport pre-show here with you coast to coast on the infinity sports network. Thank you again to DJ Sturgis from right here in Atlanta, Georgia for joining us to talk some football.

We have so much more to get into. Of course, I'm going to give you a top six list of the best college coaches of all time. I told you Lisa Leslie, the legend is going to join us next hour. And speaking of legends, we got a legend who is about to break one of the craziest records ever.

He is on his way. I'm going to tell you who it is on the other side of the break. We're just getting warmed up.

This is a hard launch. It's the JR sport reshow, the infinity sports network. You're listening to the JR sport brief. It is the JR sport reshow here with you coast to coast on the infinity sports network.

And we just talked about Russell Wilson and his, uh, his introduction to the fans in New York city and New Jersey and people, whoever, wherever people who like the New York giants. Good. This could be one of those shotgun arranged marriages, relationships. It could work. It could not work. And so as a result, they didn't have a big gigantic wedding. They didn't have a big, gigantic reception.

They just said, we're going to introduce this guy on a zoom call. How about that? Yeah. The less I invest the worst I feel anyway, Russell Wilson is someone who was at one point in time. You know, he was a potential hall of Famer, right? It's like, oh, if Russell has a few more good years, he can go to the hall of fame, dah, dah, dah, dah. Okay, fine.

It doesn't look like that's going to be the case. It sucks for him. I want to tell you about a guy who is absolutely going into his hall of fame because he is one of the best to ever do it in his particular sport. That man's name is Alex Ovechkin.

You've probably heard this, whether you sit down and watch hockey, whether you hate it, whether you love it, I really take a deep dive when we get to the, the, the playoffs. So I'm waiting, but to not keep up with Alexander Ovechkin, you kind of missing things right now. The dude is 39 years old. He is on pace on his way to passing Wayne Gretzky for the most goals all time. That is 894 total goals by the great one, Wayne Gretzky, Alex Ovechkin. He now has 889 goals as of last night, his team, the Washington caps, they still lost to the Winnipeg Jets three to two, but his goal helped them to even get back into the game. And now he is six goals away from owning and breaking the record. This man has been fire. He's been on fire 36 total goals this year. He missed 16 games with a broken leg and he is still rolling at 39 years old. We got some amazing legends who are putting in work. We see what LeBron is doing.

He spoke to Pat McAfee. We'll play that for you next hour. And Ovechkin, he's just, he's just rolling. You know what? Listen, this is the actual goal last night for monumental sports. Oh, to be 39, to be 40 years old, to still be out here kicking everybody's butt and backside. The Washington capitals have 11 games left this season. Ovechkin is on pace for 895 goals.

And if he continues on his current pace where he has three goals in his last five games, he'll break the record in the season finale, April 15th against the New York Islanders. And so when you got this much attention on you, you know, some people kind of choke, not this guy. This guy's been playing, been around for like 20 years. Okay.

He's not worried about this. Alexander Ovechkin actually said, yeah, I'm about to break the record. I like the attention. I love it. It is what it is. You know, it's, it's a fun time obviously. But yeah, you just have to enjoy it. You know, it's, it's a special moment. Obviously everybody was watching everybody pay attention to that.

So yeah. Keep in mind, he lost. So maybe that's why he didn't sound so upbeat after an L. I'll tell you this. I didn't want him to break the record. Like I wanted to see Wayne Gretzky keep the record forever. Records are made to be broken.

Now let's think about this. He ain't catching Wayne Gretzky when it comes to assists. He's not the complete player that Wayne Gretzky was.

I feel like a part of my childhood is being snatched away. Hickey, this is sad. You know, I don't want Alexander Ovechkin to just like disappear off the face of the earth. I'm resigned to the fact that he's going to own the record and have more goals and he's going to add to the record.

This is like what we're seeing right now with LeBron James. This guy's already broken Kareem's record and he's still going. Alexander Ovechkin is going to do the same exact thing. Do you think that he's going to break the record this year? I think he will.

I think he will too. After he broke his legs, he got off to a hot start. I really thought he's going to slow down and the fact that he's picked it back up.

I think the pace stays the same. He's not really seemingly been, you know, caught up in terms of chasing the record. Like it feels like he's still letting things come to him and it's not like I'm going out there and trying to score 10 goals and get this record.

I think he does get it. It's going to be close. Like you said, I think he'd get to this year. Kind of like Edward Pujols when he picked it up at the end, chasing to get 600 and he really got going there. I kind of think we get a strong push here as well and finish it off. Yeah, but it was weird with Pujols because he looked like he was done.

Yes. And then he had that one final big year where it's just like, whoa man, can he still keep playing? He's like, nah bro, I'm done. I'm not, I'm not going to play. Like Ovechkin is not finished. He's still going to go out and then play after this year. And just for the flair, for the dramatic, like of course he's going to have it. The final game of the season, April 15th is tax day by the way.

It's terrible. I don't know if you needed the reminder, but there you go. Uh, I think he'll get the job done.

Like who wants to sit around all summer waiting for that goal? I'm trying to remember. There was some, I think it might've been Hank Aaron. Yeah, I think it was Hank Aaron. Ultimately when he passed Babe Ruth, he had to sit around and wait an entire off season.

He was close. He had to wait an entire off season until he came through and broke the record. Like we don't, we don't need to see that when it comes down to Alexander Ovechkin. Get it done this year. If you're going to pass Wayne Gretzky, get the job done. He has 11 games left. He's at 889 goals. One hat trick would do the trick.

Damn it against the Islanders Hickey. He may have to have six goals in that game, but he's going to get the job done this year. I think he will.

I agree. I think he's pacing well. He gets it done.

No waiting. And it's, there's going to be, he's going to have a ridiculous game to watch. He's something, something crazy is going to happen. Alexander Ovechkin on his way to having more goals than Wayne Gretzky. That still sounds odd to say, but here we are.

That's life. Certainly legends records are made to be broken. It's the JR sport brief show here with you coast to coast on the infinity sports network. We're going to take a break. When we come back, we got, we got a Steelers. I don't want to call them a legend yet, but when we got us, we got a notable Steeler who was kind of changing his tune about an NFL legend. I'm talking about Cam Hayward, his words about Aaron Rogers. They sound different than what he said last week. And then we got a coaching legend in Rick Pitino, his son, Richard, he found a new job.

Don't be closer to dad. Demi's going to play against dad. Talk about some legends on the other side of the break. And then we'll get into LeBron James. And then another legend we'll talk to Lisa Leslie. She's going to join us for an interview next hour. You're listening to the JR sport brief.

Before we went to break, we talked about Alexander Ovechkin. The fact that he is now six goals away from breaking Wayne Gretzky's record for goals, which stands at 894. Ovechkin has 11 games left this year to do so. Well, can't wait to see if he gets the job done. He has to get the job done, right?

Nobody wants to wait the entire summer to do so. Talked about Russell Wilson and his introductory press conference with the New York Giants. I can't even call it a press conference.

It was a zoom call. New York Giants and Russell Wilson, let's just say they kept things quiet for his introduction. No big bells, no big whistles. In a few seconds, a few minutes, I'll tell you about Aaron Rogers. Apparently Cam Hayward is now interested in bringing him in.

He says he was always interested in the first place, whatever. And then at the top of the hour, how about this? I mentioned to you the fact that LeBron James actually had a sit down conversation, an interview seemingly out of his control, out of his own element with Pat McAfee. And I want to share with you some of the quotes that he had at the top of the hour. He talked about everything from his relationship or lack thereof, relationship with Michael Jordan, his thoughts on Bronny and his development. LeBron is talking about Stephen A. Smith.

And it's just, it's a lot, his longevity, how much longer we can expect him, his time with the Heat. It was a great conversation. We'll get to that at the top of the hour. Yeah, you want to give me a call? You can do that too. The new phone number here at the Infinity Sports Network is 888-710-4ISN. That's 888-710-4ISN. Greg is here from Michigan. You're on the JR Sportbreeze. Show us up, Greg.

JR, Mr. Positive. Oh my God. I cannot wait for Pat McAfee with LaBreeze. Oh my God.

Yes, it's going to be eye-opening. But A, like you, Ovi, I don't want him to break the record. I'm going to cry, JR. I love Mike Gretzky. Well, he's just, he's so smart the way he played the game. Great ambassador.

It was just, oh, I was like you. I didn't think the record was going to be broken. And you've got to understand, JR. Saturday night, I'd watch Gretzky play hockey. Sunday, Barry Sanders won the football, the greatest running back of all time.

And then third, Tiger Woods going for a major. I lived my life around Saturday night and Sunday when it came to sports. And I just got to tell you, I'm just like you.

It's hard to take. Well, let me ask you this. On a separate note, are you going for state or are you going for the Wolverines?

What are we doing here? Oh my God, JR. I have to go with state because of Izzo. I think it's his last hurrah.

But Michigan. Wait, wait, wait, wait. His last hurrah to do what? His 27 straight years. This is Tom Izzo's last hurrah to do what?

Win a championship and his best chance to do it. Yeah. Okay. Wow. Yeah. Okay. Thank you, my friend.

Love you. Thank you, Greg, for calling for Michigan. Wow. Hickey, why is he burying his career like he's cooked?

I mean, with the transfer portal, you go 27 straight years, I don't think he's going to slow down. I agree. He's never talked about it. I thought Greg was going to give us a little nugget there.

Drop a bomb. I know some people close to Izzo saying he's done after this year. Would have been great. Yeah, wow.

He didn't go that far. He just thinks this is his best chance to, to win. Well, we'll find out. Man, why we got to wait so long, man? We got two more days. Well, it starts tomorrow. Yeah, but they don't, they don't play until Friday. Right, but you still get some good games tomorrow.

Yeah, I just... Duke, Arizona, right? I believe is tomorrow. How many days have we technically have had to wait? Is it going to be four days?

Four days, Sunday to Thursday. That's enough for me, man. That's enough. You know, hey, matter of fact, Tom Izzo, he spoke yesterday and he said consistency has been the biggest key for the Spartans this season.

Listen to Izzo. That it surprised me. I'd be lying if I said, no, I thought this is right where we'd be.

But now that we're here, I can see why we got here. And we've been as consistent as most teams and many of the teams that I've ever had. Not always, you know, very seldom have we been off a whole game. We've had our moments during the game, but I think if you looked at that eight game run or the 13 games we won, I think we've been pretty consistent. Man, I think they'll beat Ole Miss.

I think they'll win. And I don't think this guy's going anywhere. They're going to have to tell him it's time to leave.

I don't think he's going... And he's like furniture in grandma's house. Hick, you know about that furniture in grandma's house? Plastic on or off?

Or is that different? Is that not... Nah, I'm just thinking about the fact that it's been there forever, you know, like... So that's part of it, you get the plastic on, you never take it off. And the plastic is now stuck to the couch. It can't come off.

Floral pattern. You try to take the plastic off the couch. It's breaking up into little pieces. It's just, you can't sleep on that couch either, man. Oh my God. But the pillows that are kind of like small and not, you know, they're more decorative than actual functions. The pillows kind of suck. What are those little square candy called?

Chicklets? You know what I'm talking about? Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. It's like, here's your pillow.

Like, what am I supposed to do with this? Suffer? Oh man. Yeah, he ain't going anywhere. Tom Mizzo's not that...

I'd be shocked. We saw all these other old coaches leave. He ain't going anywhere. Speaking of old coaches, I did mention this to you as well. We're going to get to Cam Hayward and Aaron Rodgers.

Don't worry about that. But Rick Pitino, his son is going to join him in the Big East. Richard Pitino is on his way to Xavier.

You might recall, and why wouldn't he? He started his career coaching pretty much by being an assistant on his staff when his dad Rick was coaching at Louisville. And so then he went to FIU, then he went to Minnesota, had some success there, went to the tournament twice. And then he went over to New Mexico. For the past couple of years, he's had success at New Mexico. They just went to the tournament the past two years. And now he's replacing Sean Miller after Sean Miller had a couple of stints at Xavier.

And so I know, and by the way, his dad Rick, after he got eliminated, he went to go see his son get eliminated. And it's just a lot of... This is a shell game.

Hickey, I need a board to keep up with all of the players and the coaches that are moving around. This is ridiculous. It is a lot, right? I mean, it's, what is it, 700 players in the portal on day one, plus all these coaches still moving and the dominoes there, Villanova has not been filled. And if Porter Moser goes from Oklahoma to Villanova, all of a sudden now Oklahoma's open, that's an attractive job.

That's good. It's almost like never ending. You know that game where you go to the sporting event that they play up on the big screen, where it may be the cars, you know, they spent, they got three cars, or they do like the shell game and you'll find the bouncing ball and they just move it around once. And then they move it around real fast. And they're like, where's the ball? Like what hat is it in?

Or which, which car is it? And this is what it feels like trying to keep up with the coaches moving around and Rick Pitino. Of course, he's not going to say my son sucks.

Who says that? I would tell my son he sucks if he sucks at something. But Rick Pitino, he said, my son, Richard, he's a good coach. He is a great, look, he's my son somewhere, he is a great young coach, great young coach. His offensive mind is brilliant. He puts you in situations that really hurt you defensively. I think he won 27 games last year. He's got a great team this year. He does it with all new players, different players. He's one of the bright young offensive minds in the game today.

So he's a lot different than me. He handles losing much better than me. I've learned to accept it by coming to Queens, but.

Oh yeah, well that was earlier in the season. We saw that St. John's just lost. Man, I'm not going to say that the world needs tough love. I don't know.

Hickey, it's probably impossible for us to find somebody. We can't find a clip of somebody saying, hey, my son sucks. We can't find that anywhere, right? You know, there is something close to it, though. When I was looking for this clip.

Yeah. I also saw a different story that the night before, you know, they played earlier this year in New Mexico in St. John's. Apparently, Rick Pitino at dinner lied to his son about the availability of one of his players. Oh, he's not playing. Don't worry about him. You know, he's too banged up.

Next day, and it started lineup. Oh, so that's something that's close to basically saying, you know, yeah, that's looking for it close almost. I guess if your kid just sucks at something, you just don't say anything. Try something else.

Maybe you should try. I don't know. Going to college.

I don't know. Instead of sitting in your bedroom. Put that ball down.

Maybe pick up a book. Yeah, good, good, good for Rick Pitino. What else is he supposed to do? Pat your son on the back.

Good job. I mean, LeBron James got his son a whole job, right? That's what he did. Matter of fact, when we come back from break, we'll hear from LeBron James. He had a lot to say about everything with Pat McAfee. We'll hear what LeBron said about his relationship with Jordan and Stephen A. Smith, his career, Miami Heat and more. And then we're going to talk with Lisa Leslie. It's the JR sport re-show. Don't move the infinity sports network.
