It is! The JR Sportbree Show here with you on the Infinity Sports Network. I'm coming to you live from Atlanta, Georgia. Thank you to everybody tuned in and locked in all over North America. Happy Wednesday! Be hanging out with you for three more hours. I've been here for one already.
Time flies when you're having fun. This show gets started every single weekday at 6 p.m. Eastern, 3 Pacific. Thank you so much to Super Producer and Host.
He's in New York City, Ryan Hickey. Thank you for helping out. Thank you to you for listening because if you ain't here, here is no show. On the free Odyssey app, on your local Infinity Sports Network affiliate, on Sirius XM Channel 158, on a smart speaker.
You got one of those? Ask it to play the Infinity Sports Network. I'm doing my best to get you over the hump. We've got a National League Championship Series matchup tonight. About an hour from now, in Queens, New York, Shohei Ohtani's in town.
They want him to drive in some runs. He's gonna move from the leadoff spot first, I guess. But anyway, somebody's gonna go up 2-1 in this series. We'll see who it is in about an hour's time.
We'll keep you up to date. Also, it is Wednesday, and an hour from now, I'm gonna share with you a Top 6 list. Thank you so much to Jerry Jones, losing his mind yesterday against the folks on 105.3, the fan in Dallas. We're gonna give you a Top 6 list of some of the biggest, craziest media meltdowns that you've ever seen in your life. Coaches, owners, players, GMs, just losing their ever-loving minds. I think it's tough. A lot on the line. A lot of pressure. Pressure-packed. It's a tough business.
Sports is tough. Hickey, did you see TMZ getting Rob Salah walking out of Whole Foods? Did you see that?
No, I did not really. Come on. You got to get Rob Salah walking out of Whole Foods. Did they talk to him?
Yeah. He's carrying bags. Carrying bags out of Whole Foods near the Jets facility, so he's still in the same place.
He hasn't ditched town yet or maybe just came back. Hey, how you doing? What you think?
He's like, I'm living a dream, brother. That's what he said. That's tough. Wow. They have no shame, TMZ.
That's for sure. Oh, they don't? Did somebody follow Rob Salah from his house to Whole Foods?
Like, what are we doing here? They got a tip. How do you send a tip to TMZ?
Did they have a number to call? Hickey, I know a guy. Oh. I know a couple of guys.
Oh, a couple of guys. If you ever want to send something to TMZ, let me know, okay? Okay.
All righty. Hickey, I have walked out of the studio here in Atlanta and the guy is, hey, I know JR, right? I go, yeah, yeah. You don't want nothing from me, right? He goes, no.
He says, if you ever have something, let me know. Makes sense. They got to be relationship people, right? Yeah, I guess.
Yeah, right. And then I know the black guy with the locks. I know him. Is his name Kevin? I don't know his name.
I saw him in an airport though, one time walking around, probably hunting his next victim. Hickey, I'll tell you this. Maybe it'll come back to bite me. Maybe not. Probably not. What do I care?
No, a long time ago, a long time ago, you know, I, I, I didn't, I skirted an opportunity there. It's just a little too, a little too negative for me. This is like early on in the day. It's like a little too much, you know? Their jobs, I mean, are tough. Go up to someone with a camera in their face and ask them hard hitting questions. Most like you said, mostly negative, not easy to do. Yeah, but this was more so when they were moving towards sports and in the studio stuff. Like I don't want to talk about, let's see, what's the story that I don't want to talk about today?
Someone's ex-girlfriend? There you go. There you go. Like the guy that we mentioned. Oh man, I feel like there were two of them last week. Bryce Young? No, not Bryce Young. Yeah, Bryce Young's girl. Tyrese Maxey took Bryce Young's girlfriend. There was one guy on Georgia. Was he a bulldog? He allegedly hit his girlfriend, right? Yes. And who was the NFI?
See, I try to forget these things. Who was the other NFL player? He's on leave now.
He allegedly, right? Oh, Von Miller and Hall. There's another one. Yeah, man. You're right.
They counted that double whammy. Yeah. Yeah. Why do I want to sit around and talk about this for 20 minutes? Like who wants to do that?
Not me. I'd rather make my jokes and weird innuendos and keep it moving without having to do it every single day. TMZ, I guess they work hard.
They send people outside to work hard. Hickey, now that I said this, when I leave this studio, that TMZ guy's going to be downstairs to give me the business. Catch me jaywalking or something like that.
Look at a sports host, hit old lady crossing the street, something like that. I'll be all up in my business anyway. But that's not true. You know, that's not true.
Last time an organization, I said something. Remember, Peter wrote us a nice letter. Remember that? That's right.
That's right. So you're in the good graces so far. I am. I am. Listen, I work hard and I try to do my best. I try.
Speaking of doing your best, I love it. A European coming to America and calling Americans out. And no, this has nothing to do with politics. It doesn't. Not at all. This has to do with the NBA.
You know, we always lament the fact that sports has changed so much here in America. Everybody has it easy. Nobody works hard.
People want things given to them. Last night we talked about Joel Embiid admitting that he's probably never going to play in back to back games again. It's like, bro, what? I could never imagine. Could you imagine Kobe Bryant on a torn Achilles even after saying, hey, you know what, just in self-preservation mode. I've been so hurt the past few.
No, he would never say that. Like, that's disrespectful to the game. Like, this is where we are. But Joel Embiid is like, hey, I'm not going to play. Paul George sprains his knee. We got all these players making all this money.
They don't show up. Like, why is Kawhi Leonard still playing? And why are the dumb ass Clippers giving them all this money?
Come on. We know it's a business. It's a television product. It's a media product. The stars, they come, they go like maybe Zion will be healthy this year.
Hickey, you think it'd be healthy for the start of the year, at least until he, what hits the road and starts eating? You said it, not me. Possibly.
Yeah. Well, it took a guy from France rookie of the year. The guy who dropped 21 points, 11 rebounds, four assists, had three and a half blocks of steel and played in 71 games for being a string bean. Victor, when Benyama ahead of this upcoming season, he told everybody, if these, if there's one thing he learned, is that a lot of these stars in the NBA, they don't work as hard as he thought they did.
Victor, when Benyama, this man came into the league as a string bean, he is still only 20 years old. He doesn't turn 21 until January 4th. He says that he has added, I don't know, 15, 20 pounds of weight to him.
Good for him. He's naturally going to get bigger as he gets older. You're seven foot four.
You're still going to be a, a monster. I think he's seven five. If you ask me, but besides all of that, listen to Victor, when Benyama tell you what you already know, that we got a bunch of athletes in the NBA, just all over the place that are lazy as hell. This is what he told sports illustrated. Both in a good and bad way. It's how truly like the best of the game are how in a good way, some of them are really like impressive and like inspiring in the way they approach the game every night. But others that I used to like, and now it's, I'm just like, nah, I'm not sure that they deserve, you know, like, they don't seem like they put as work as much work as I thought some of the guys, you know, it was kind of, you know, some of the guys I've been watching growing up, I'm not disappointed, but I'm like, like, that's it.
Oh, man, I love this. He, I said this, I think a year ago, with this, this lazy crop of NBA players, this Joel Embiid space of, oh, we'll play back to backs like that guy. We don't need no more of that attitude. Like Russell Westbrook is, you know, more of that attitude. Like Russell Westbrook is too much at the end of his career to kind of force the issue of I'm playing.
God rest Kobe Bryant's soul. Let's done the Kevin Garnett's, the guys who gave it their all and stuck around for a very long time. And yeah, they're superstars. The superstars are going to stick around for a long time. They are. There's too many players who are just like, I need to sit and chill.
And you could talk about the organizations encouraging it. And you can do all of that. If you're really the top dog and you're running things, not necessarily in an Aaron Rogers way, but if you're really damn good, you can push the buttons.
You can make the calls. Anthony Edwards is going out there, balling out every single game that he can. He ain't taking no days off. He doesn't want to sit out. He wants to rip your heart out.
Go ask John Collins. He just flew over this guy between Anthony Edwards and Victor, when Ben Yama, these are two guys that I hope over the next, I don't know, 10 years, change the culture of, Oh, you sitting out, you saw Victor, when Ben Yama just helped light part of the flame and fire that y'all are lazy. And we, we, we kind of had an inkling of this or not, not of people lazy.
We knew that, but like what type of dude Victor, when Ben Yama is, when he was getting drafted last year, it's like, nah, I don't drink no alcohol. Nah, I believe in mental preparation. If you believe it and you go out, you just do it. Ah, I don't need to be on my cell phone when I'm going to sleep. Get that phone out of here. I'm turning the phone off. I'm reading a book. I'm getting focused. I'm getting locked in.
Victor, web and Yama is built different. It's called mind over matter. Too many athletes, whether you happen to be an aspiring NBA star or NFL player, NHL, this NBA, that baseball people are coddled so much. You're so good. Oh, you're going to be amazing. You're great. Oh, you're so good. Let's build a team around you and in high school and AAU and let's do all of this. Let's kiss your ass. And then when you face real adversity for the first time, you don't know what the hell to do.
You crumble, you cook, you fall apart. All the athletes that, Oh, boo, who athletes going on social media, boo, who I'll be damned if I see Victor, women, Yama, and maybe one day, 10 years down the line, if he's still able to play, he does. I can't see Victor, women, Yama on social media going.
I need the spurs to trade me. I can't see him putting up, you know, Vega mode. I don't see victim. Picky, could you see Victor women? Yama putting up an hourglass emoji for his teammates to get scared. Could you see that? No way. That's you, LeBron. You did that.
I see Victor, I'll see victim weapon. Yama pulling in Aaron Rogers, throwing his teammate under the bus. Oh, we got all, we all gotta be held accountable. Well, listen, man, if he said you under through a pass, you'd be the first one.
Hey, don't do that publicly. Come on, stop it. It can't keep. He's getting there. Victor, women, Yama real soon. He's about to be my favorite. I don't have a favorite NBA player right now. I don't, I don't.
Victor, women, Yama might be that guy. As soon as like maybe the end of this season. No, like now, right now. Yeah. Okay.
So I wasn't sure, you know, what would the final push be over the hump? I like the attitude. I like people who work and I like the attitude. I like people who don't complain.
Just go out there and get to it. My favorite baseball player of all time was Paul O'Neill. Guy was a nut. Just went out there, bust his ass and got to it instead. I don't even, I don't even, do I have a favorite basketball player of all?
I don't even think I have one of those. I'm not saying, Oh, I like Tim Duncan. Hickey, you want to know why? Because he went out there and he just got to it. Wasn't fancy, but he got the job done. It's too many athletes just running there.
Yap complaining and not wanting to play. I need to see Victor Wenbanyama block Joel Embiid's shot and stare at him. I need, I need him to start doing the Mutombo finger wag, Hickey. That's what I need. No, that would be cool.
I'm with, that'd be a lot of fun. Block the shots. Call the guys lazy. One day he's going to call one of these. Hey, you silly American.
He's going to do that one day Hickey is. Silly American. That will be interesting to see their reaction.
Oh, well then we'll have a, we'll have a big issue. I don't know. No, but it's not a shot. Look at the best players in the league right now. Look at the past MVPs. Who was the last American MVP? Was it, was it Harden?
Am I going back that far? Curry? No, Harden won it after, I guess it might have been Harden. That's, that's, that's, that's a lot. NBA MVP.
What is this? Let's see. Jokic won it a couple of times. Joel Embiid, Giannis. It was James Harden in 2018. Last American to win MVP. Who's a front runner this? Like who, who's from? Oh, uh, Shay Gilgus Alexander.
He's Canadian. Oh, Tatum Brown. Maybe one of those guys are angry enough and they win MVP. Is there anybody else?
Like be a front runner? How about Jalen Brunson? Nah, they're not giving this to him.
Nah. They're going to say he has two. Well, the Knicks would have to stay healthy and he'd have to lead. He'd have to lead the league in scoring. Have to lead.
He'd have to drive. And I don't know if he's going to do that because they're going to beat up on teams and they're going to have to pass the ball to what's his name now? Uh, Kat. What's his name? Carl Anthony towns.
Yeah. Give him the ball. It says a lot about the NBA right now. European African, European, European, African, European, American James Harden. The last guy to win MVP as an American.
Everybody knows he's lazy as hell too. It's James Harden. His shout outs to, uh, Victor Webinama for coming through and selling the truth. I hope he continues to push everybody in the league because the Victor Webinama ends up being the best of the best. That's good for the league.
Everybody's going to try to catch up to him. No more excuses. The NBA needs more killers and less softies out here. Like Joel Embiid who wants to take back to back games off for the rest of his career where he's considering it. Do better or just retire.
Go earn the money. Lazy. Joel Embiid is not even American. It's the JR sport reshow here with you on the infinity sports network. 855-212-4227.
That's 855-212-4227. Maybe Joel Embiid has been in America too long. He's a citizen now.
Yeah. He's been around too long. Picking up on American basketball player habits. Go out there and do better.
855-212-4227. You know, we're going to take a break and we're going to come back on the other side and I'm going to talk to you about a player in college football. This guy ain't taking no plays off. This guy doesn't get tired. This guy goes all out.
There is no quit. There is no half step and there is no cutting corners with this dude and he probably deserves the Heisman and now he's not afraid to tell you as much. I'm gonna let you hear from him on the other side. I'll tell you who it is. It's the JR sport reshow here with you on the infinity sports network. You're listening to the JR sport brief. It's the JR sport reshow here with you on the infinity sports network. 855-212-4227.
That's 855-212-4227. I need you to think around the auto parts for all of your car care needs. You get guaranteed low prices and excellent customer service from the professional parts people at O'Reilly Auto Parts. Right before we went to break, we heard from Victor Wambenyama getting ready to head into his sophomore season, second year in the NBA. Rookie of the Year had an amazing season, was well worth all the hype. People were sick of Victor Wambenyama talk when they were broadcasting his games on the NBA app when he was still playing in Europe. It was a teaser. Victor Wambenyama said we got a lot of athletes in the NBA, a lot of players, a lot of stars.
They don't work as hard as I thought they did. Wow. He can say whatever the hell he wants, right? People respect him. He's 20 years old. What is he going to be when he's 25? When somebody shows up and they walk the walk, they talk the talk, you can't say nothing. Not a damn thing.
Victor Wambenyama isn't the only dude who just shows up and works. Think about things on the college football side. It's pretty crazy right now. People are starting to think about the Heisman and who walks away with it. And typically we can always look at quarterbacks, people looking at guys like Quinn Ewers and going, oh yeah, Heisman this and Cam Ward and all these dudes who are just lighting it up.
But every now and then you have a couple of things that are special. You have individuals who do, I don't know, things you've never seen before that make you just say, oh, we got to give the award to him. And we have two workhorses in college football right now who are in high consideration to be Heisman Award winners. A lot of people are finding out about Ashton Jenti. Out of Boise State, this guy is running through everybody. This dude is averaging 10 yards a rush. What? Who does that? Last year, he averaged six yards a carry.
This year it's up to 10. And what world do we live in when a running back is doing that? He's a beast. He's a freak. Through six games, almost 1300 yards, 17 touchdowns in six games. What are we doing?
What type of world is this? You would think that he'd be automatic for the Heisman. Six games already? You think about the rushing record. Some guy named Barry Sanders has it.
Maybe you've heard of him. Barry Sanders in a single season, 1988, he rushed for 2,628 yards and 37 touchdowns when he was playing for Oklahoma State. Is Jenti going to catch him? Let me tell you, if he does, he's going to win the Heisman.
I'm sorry. It doesn't matter what the other guy does. And the other guy is not no slouch himself. It's Travis Hunter. This man is playing on offense. He is playing on defense. He's playing damn near every snap. That's not special teams.
This guy is, he's doing everything. He's their best defensive player. He's the best wide receiver. Even thinking about his snap count, 120 this, 120, I get tired thinking about it. And I get he's a college athlete, but who the hell is running around out there on almost every offensive play, every defensive play?
That's him. And yet he just went down, had that shoulder issue against Kansas State this past weekend. But with so much attention right now on Ashton Jenti and the possibility that he might break the rushing record held by Barry Sanderson's 1988, Travis Hunter's standing up for himself. Not that he needs to, but he's saying, listen, if I got as many touches as him, if I got as many opportunities as him, I think we would have a different thought process. Listen to Travis Hunter on the out-of-pocket podcast, and he made his own case as to why he should be the Heisman favorite.
I know I can win it, but I don't know. I don't know. I don't know who was there. I mean, y'all see Ashton Jenti, but it's not like we haven't seen a running back. That's good. We haven't seen a player that plays both ways.
And I'm gonna keep saying that. It's like he have 90, what? I think 95 carries. Yeah.
For a thousand yards. Yeah. If I had 95 catches, if I had 95 catches, how much yards you think I have? Okay. So I'm trying to tell him like, if I had 95 targets on defense, what'd you think I'll have? Right. 95 catches on offense, what'd you think I'll have?
So I try to tell you, like I have, he got double the touches I got on the offensive side of the ball and I still have defensive stats. That's still crazy. And we only in week six. Oh man.
That's tricky. That's the nature of the position though. We've seen the two way stars and not to the degree of Travis Hunter. I can think about guys like Woodson and Dion, not, not full time. But when you take a look at what Travis Hunter is doing, I think we'll see more of this. A running back in a game and both on a college level and a professional level, the running backs they're devalued. And so to see this man getting the handoff and to potentially break a record of Barry Sanders that hasn't been broken since 1988, I think they would give it to the offensive player. And here's the other part, Travis Hunter, he gets banged up. He does.
Yeah. I know he shoulder issue left the game, but now he's supposed to be back against Arizona. This is what Dion Sanders said. I think I would still give it to Gente. I think the running back taking the abuse and a punishment and in this age, everybody knowing you're getting the ball and still doing something about it.
I get it. People don't want to throw the ball at Travis Hunter. Well, they certainly throw the ball to him on offense. He has 50 receptions, almost 600 yards and 60 days. You don't lose it either way, but I'd give it to the running back. This is a tough one.
This is, this is a unique situation. Imagine if Shohei Ohtani and Aaron Judge was still playing both of them in the American League. One guy goes 50-50 and well, another guy almost hits 60 home runs again. Yeah, Ohtani. Hickey, if Ohtani was still in the American League, he'd win it over Judge, right? Yeah, 50-50 is tough to beat anywhere. I think so.
Automatic. He get it. What do you think about the Travis Hunter's point against Gente? I mean, it's a fair, the skill sets obviously are different, right? And yes, Travis Hunter is doing something we've never seen before, but that also does not diminish what Ashton Gente is doing. And I don't think like, the Heisman is not the best player, period. Travis Hunter is doing something we haven't seen, but is he doing it at a high enough level to warrant the Heisman?
Right now, I would say no. And Gente, I don't care that we've seen great running backs before, he is absolutely dominating. Like no one can tackle. His numbers are ridiculous. Like you said, he's chasing down right now, historically great numbers.
If this continues, which means Boise State will probably make the college football playoff, which is also part of this as well, he's winning the Heisman, no doubt about it. Yeah. Yeah, that's my thought. And the other Elenya, he's a running back. He could easily go down himself.
But Travis Hunter, we've seen him go down. What do you get, a lacerated liver last year? Kidney got popped or something like that? Yeah, I think it was kidney.
Yeah, it was not pretty. He's slight. Yeah, he plays defense. I'm not calling a dude, you know, saying he's small out here, but when it comes to his frame, he is. He's listed at 6-1, 185.
And I don't know, 185 might be pushing it. He gonna get knocked around out there. And so yeah, God bless him, he's going to be able to play against Arizona. But if if Gente continues doing what he's doing, the number, forget all the almost close to Barry Sanders and six games and all that, forget all of that. Ten yards a carry? Everybody knows he's getting the ball. Eleven guys know that he's getting the ball. The stadium knows that he's getting the ball. The offense, excuse me, the defense, the whole team on the opposition knows he's getting the ball. The defensive coordinator knows he's the linebacker, the lineman know he's getting the ball. Ten yards a carry?
He's a bowling ball all by himself. I like running, we don't have enough of the punch you in the mouth running backs, we don't. Like in the NFL, let's really think about this. In the NFL today, there's Derrick Henry, who is a bulldozer.
Who else is there? There ain't no Jerome Bettis out here, ain't no big dude with the feet moving around, there's nobody dropping the shoulders. Yeah, we got a Saquon. Running backs today. Not to be disrespectful, these guys are like glorified slot receivers. It's like Alvin Kamara, you're going to run the ball, you're going to be on the receiving end of the ball. Christian McCaffrey, oh he's a freak. I miss the running backs that would plow through somebody. Forget that, we don't even have full backs in the league.
Where's, well not a lot, where's the Mike Allstock? Where's the guy with the big old neck brace and he needs the neck brace because he's dropping that shoulder and he needs his neck and his head to stay in position while he tries to beat the living hell out of you. NFL is a different game and when you got to running back we're going to say, man I got you for 10 yards when I touch the ball, I'm going with that guy. I want the physicality back in football.
Keep the safety, give me physicality too. 855-212-4227, that's 855-212-4227. Kingfish is here from Arkansas, you're on the JR Support Reshow, what's up? Yeah, hey good evening JR and Ryan. Hey, I heard you yesterday say some interesting things about Rodgers that, and being that you're a New York fan, you're actually kind of wishing that Rodgers would just go ahead and implode his career because of the way he's behaving. I mean he's sucking all the air out of the place and he's throwing people under the bus and he's not showing a lot of class and then taking back what you just said a minute ago about Victor, when the value that you said that you know his style of work ethic that he's noticing that some of the top athletes over here are lazy and that they're making all these millions of dollars and they're stars and rolling in the money and everything and I strike you JR, you're not a hypocrite.
I've heard you say nice things about Bill Russell, about Tim Duncan and you almost like you're the kind of person that to me like you appreciate the you know the hard work, he knows the grindstone, not like throwing a lot of smoke and BS out there. And because you're not a hypocrite, I've heard you say something about LeBron recently, a couple things, is what's the difference between LeBron and Rodgers? LeBron, you said something about Rodgers that you'd kind of like to see him fail. I don't believe in hating people, but I don't, I dislike LeBron.
I would like to see him fail and get out. I'll tell you the reason why is because he's in a world of his own because when he came in the league, the league put the chosen on his back and he didn't earn it and before he even started winning championships, he was better than Jordan and all along the way he's been fighting this. That wasn't him, it's marketing. He was marketed and sold as the next big thing and the fact that he lived up to it and exceeded it is ridiculous. When you're in the public eye and Aaron Rodgers, not in the same way as LeBron, Aaron Rodgers hasn't been in the public eye the same type of way LeBron James has been for the better part of 20 years. If you want to take a look at LeBron James missteps, when you're in the public media in that eye and you're criticized the way he is, everything is, aren't always going to go right. He apologized for his decision because he kind of spat in the face of the people in Cleveland. He will probably never apologize about saying, you know, things about China and Daryl Morey because it costs him money. But at the same time, he has done plenty enough to help out other people. And yeah, he has a lot of me, me, me inside of him, you know, tweeting messages out and vague messages. And just last week, I think it was just ridiculous to go, hey, why are we flying to Milwaukee?
Why are we doing this? And yes, he's into himself. I wouldn't put him in the same space as Aaron Rodgers. LeBron James can be much more passive aggressive. Aaron Rodgers would be more in your face, a pain in the behind. But when you think about what they both had to experience, I think the experiences and how they've handled them, all things considered on and off the field of play, it's a little bit different.
Okay. One last thing, though, is that you do agree that his son does not belong in the league at this time, is that the thing about it is that there's that this is just a spectacle. Everybody's going to be watching, but he's not chasing championships.
And his his son doesn't look like he's NBA material. We made we told well, I can't I can't say that I can't even say that we made fun of we told the truth about his son almost like Hickey. How long how long did it take us? Two minutes into the show? Three minutes?
Yeah, very quickly. You did. You did. I give you credit. You did. Yeah. We've done that.
We've done that quite a bit. He was like one for five. What who can dress that up? He's not ready right now. Maybe one day he is. But right now he's not. And if we all know this is not it's not an out of this world conclusion. If his dad was not LeBron James, he wouldn't have got this crack of the shot.
If he wasn't a McDonald's All-American and he went to school and he had a heart issue and he had the season that he just had, he would have been undrafted. That I think I think we all know that. So now we have to see what happens. But at the end of the day, this is a business. This is about making money. LeBron's son has made money.
He's made himself almost eight million dollars guaranteed. And we all just got to be along for the ride and hope that his son doesn't get tanked as a result. And we'll hang in there. Hey, I'll leave you I'll leave you with this comment. More that you know. Well, that's like I'm done. This is it. I hope you can never you can never be too clever in your field of endeavor because no one knows where the hobo goes when the snow blows.
Well, thank you. A modern day Dr. Seuss. It's the J.R. Sportbree show here with you on the Infinity Sports Network eight five five two one two forty two twenty seven. I'm gonna get some more of your calls on the other side. And speaking of college football, we got a lot of coaches making a lot of money. And then speaking of people having meltdowns, not Aaron Rodgers, not LeBron James.
I'm going to give you a top six list at the top of the hour. You are listening to the J.R. Sportbree. The J.R. Sportbree show here with you coast to coast on the Infinity Sports Network eight five five two one two forty two twenty seven.
That's eight five five two one two forty two twenty seven. Yeah, I didn't know we'd be talking about lazy ass players, but thank you. Thank you, Victor. We appreciate you. Thank you for bringing this to light.
Hickey, I didn't know that. Yeah, you think there's some well, there's similarities and similarities. I don't think there's hmm. There's some there's some similarities between Aaron Rodgers and LeBron James, but I don't know if I'd necessarily put them in the same exact boat. They definitely have a few passive aggressive similarities, to say the least. But to LeBron's credit, for the most part, he's not as deliberate, definitely and intentional as throwing his teammates under the bus as Aaron Rodgers. He's not. He's not like like he, if any.
See, how about this? LeBron James early in his career was criticized for not having killer instinct and actually passing the ball to his teammates. We just saw Aaron Rodgers two nights ago just destroy a veteran receiver for not a drop of a pass.
And I don't know. And then I think about the things that you hear are nice. Aaron Rodgers, a nice guy, does this shows up at the hospital, does that? I'm sure he does. But he seems to really, really, really, really.
You know, I think LeBron James comes across at this stage of his life as much more calculated. He doesn't care. He's like, oh, yeah, you want to criticize my son, whatever.
It's my kid. Yeah, I put him here, but give him a chance, whatever, whatever. Yeah, LeBron is more count. Aaron Rodgers just doesn't doesn't care. I don't think he doesn't.
He's just more into himself, more of an outward arrogance. LeBron James lay. I'm the best. I think I'm the best.
I'm going to do what I want to do. But Aaron Rodgers, this is more of a smugness to the guy. Eight five five two one two forty two twenty seven at the top of the hour. I'm going to share with you and maybe Aaron Rodgers is on the list.
I mean, he had some moments back in twenty twenty with the media. Oh, man. We're going to give you a top six list of some of the biggest media meltdowns.
And the list is coming your way in about 10 minutes from now. Eight five five two one two forty two twenty seven. Greg is here from Michigan. You're on the JR Sport. Show us up, Greg. JR, it's the warrior, Mr.
Positive. How dare that young man diss Labriezy Goat James? Come on.
The man helps schools. He's like, you know how I feel about him, JR? We go way back about how I feel about my Labriezy James. I love him.
He can do no wrong. Well, that's nice. I got a concern. Yes. I got to ask you.
What is it? Hutch. We lose him. Detroit Lions is a season over. He's the heartbeat.
He's the leader. Oh, we're going back and forth in this in Detroit, my friend. Why? And we're nervous. I've been so nervous. I've been talking about this for the past three days. The guy got a broken. There's a couple of things.
The man has a broken leg. We know. OK, I would shut down any of the talk or conversation about him coming back in the Super Bowl. I can. Can the Lions go through the season and do that first?
And I guess when you live through something and you experience it and you have to hear it every day, it hits you a little bit harder. But from the outside, looking in from a guy who is not in Detroit, who has looked at this team a couple of years ago, I could make jokes about the lines the same way that I can make jokes about the Browns. And when you look at how they turned around and almost the snap of a finger about a season and a half ago, two seasons ago, where Dan Campbell was on the verge of getting the boot and then they just kind of lifted off. And if they've taken off ever since, this is a team that has the number one offense in the NFL right now. You know why anybody would say the Detroit Lions are cooked this season?
I have no idea. We've seen big time offenses, you know, slay defenses plenty of times. Yeah. Defense wins championships.
You need the big stops. Even their defense has improved over the past several years. And so, yes, you're missing a big piece in Aiden Hutchinson, a guy who's what in his third year right now was probably going to have 15, 16, 17, 18 sacks this year. You can't replace that. But I don't think that the team is just going to completely go to the craps because he's not out there. Yeah. But, JR, real quick, we've been playing teams that are missing a lot of their key players.
And I think it's giving us a false sense. But I hope you're right. And thank you for taking my call, JR. And everybody, go for your dreams. Well, thank you, Greg, for calling from Michigan. I love you, too.
I have to think about whether or not I wanted to say it. Anyway, they are one of the best teams in the NFC. They're going to have a chance to knock folks off. That's it. They're going to go to the playoffs and just let it roll from there.
What else are they going to do? I don't know what pass rusher you're going to trade for at this stage of the year. We're going to have some disgruntled mad guy just say, oh, I want to move.
Maybe it's possible. It took two, three weeks for Devontae Adams to move. But I don't think we have a pass rusher who's had rumors of trade dating back to the summertime. I think the lines might be stuck with what they have, and I think they will be OK as long as they can score the rock. They'll be in every game. I know the Dallas Cowboys ain't nothing to really cry home about. They put up 47 points on them.
And yeah, they're missing a lot of key pieces. They got Minnesota next. That'll be a shootout. They'll be fine. They can put up points. They will be fine. 8 5 5 2 1 2 42 27.
That's 8 5 5 2 1 2 42 27. Lions will be at the Vikings Sunday. That'll be in the early window. Now, I want to say it's it's a pick them game. It may come down to a field goal. We'll have to wait.
We'll have to see. It is the JR Sportbree show here with you coast to coast on the Infinity Sports Network. I told you it's Wednesday. It's the middle of the week.
You know what that means. On the other side of the break, I will be sharing with you a new top six list. I'm going to tell you the inspiration right out of the gate is some guy named Jerry Jones. After his interview yesterday on one of five three, the fan in Dallas, where he completely lost as you-know-what, he inspired today's top six list. Top six media meltdowns that we have ever seen in the world of sports. What owners, coaches, players cannot keep their you-know-what together when it matters the most. I'm going to share that top six list with you on the other side of the break. New York Mets are getting ready to get rolling in Queens against the Dodgers and the NLCS. I'm rolling too. So the other side of the break, don't move. It's a top six. It's the JR Sport Reshow on the Infinity Sports Network.
