What's up guys? I don't care if you're in Miami. I hope you're safe. I really do. I don't care if you're in San Diego getting ready to try to eliminate the Dodgers tonight. You could be here in Atlanta with me. Thank you to our producer in New York, Nick Deodoro, holding it down.
I appreciate you for being here. This show gets started every single weekday at 6 p.m. Eastern, 3 Pacific. You can always listen live and for free on the Audacy app. Put it on your phone. Put it on your tablet.
Put it on your computer. You can always listen on your local Infinity Sports Network affiliate, wherever you live. You fancy? You got Sirius XM? It ain't that fancy, but put it on channel 158.
And if you have a smart speaker, Alexa, Siri, Google, whatever it is, ask it to play the Infinity Sports Network. We talked about a lot so far. We got a lot going on. The New York Mets currently lead the Philadelphia Phillies 4-1 in the eighth inning. The New York Mets, they are four outs away from advancing to the National League Championship Series. The Phillies are trying to get back into this game.
Otherwise, it will be curtains for them. Meanwhile, also, right now, this moment, this second, the New York Yankees are in Kansas City, Kaufman Stadium. The series is tied at 1-1. They're in the top of the fourth inning.
No team has scored a run. Aaron Judge, who has stunk the joint up, is at the plate with a man on. It's prime time if Aaron Judge wants to go out there and earn his money. We'll see what the New York Yankees do along with these Kansas City Royals. Also, pretty soon, about an hour from now, Aaron Judge popped out, flew out, excuse me, to left.
Let me not be disrespectful. Flew out to left. Anyway, the Padres have an opportunity to go ahead and eliminate the Los Angeles Dodgers as well. That game gets started in about an hour's time. Last night, the Padres went up in the series 2-1 against these Dodgers. They went out and beat them 6-5. So much baseball going on, and congratulations again to the Detroit Tigers. They are now one victory away from advancing to the American League Championship Series. The Tigers, they beat the Guardians earlier today 3-0.
The Guardians are now scoreless in their past 20 innings. A lot of baseball. We got four games today.
We got a lot to do. We've heard from Aaron Rodgers. We talked about that.
Got into Devontae Adams. Talked about that. Went into the Patriots, swapping out their quarterback.
Talked about that. Hey, we went down to New Orleans. Spencer Rattler. Going to get the start in place of Derek Carr dealing with that oblique injury. Raiders are changing their QB. So much going on. Baseball, football, basketballs in preseason.
LeBron is trying to figure out why he's taking a plane to Milwaukee. We'll get into all of that, okay? So we got a lot to do. But this is also very important to share with you, and of course I am. Every single Wednesday, I bring you a new top six list.
Today is not going to be any different. And with all of the turmoil that we've had this week in the NFL. Players wanting trades. Players worried about demotions. Players worried about being moved and cut.
But we even talked about the Steelers. Russell Wilson is back in action today. Went back to practice. Good news for him. He didn't pull a calf.
His calf works perfectly fine. But the fact of the matter is, Russell Wilson might be coming for the job of Justin Fields. Both of these guys are playing on one year deals.
They're going out there to prove themselves. And so today for today's top six list, I wanted to share with you a top six list of some of the worst contracts in the NFL. Now let me be clear. I'm talking about contracts signed by free agents. So some of your favorite bums like, I don't know, a Jamarcus Russell. He is not going to be on the list because this guy couldn't even make it to a second contract. He only got his rookie deal. Modern NFL free agency is relatively new.
Getting started in 1993. And so depending on how old or young you are, we're not talking about a wide list. But I'm going to tell you about players in the history of the NFL, dating back almost 30 years right now, who have received and signed some of the worst contracts in league history. Now let me be clear.
It's not the player's fault, because if the team is dumb enough to give you the money, you better be smart enough to take it. So without wasting any more time, congratulations. It's a new Wednesday. It's a new top six list. And we're taking a look at some of the worst contracts that we have ever seen in NFL history. Six, five, four, three, two, one. It's time to get JR's latest top six list only on the JR Sport Brief.
It is the JR Sport Brief Show here with you coast to coast on the Infinity Sports Network. It's time for a new top six list. We're taking a look right now at some of the worst contracts that have ever been handed out in NFL history. Number six.
Yeah, let's get right into it. At number six, we got to talk about a quarterback. And a lot of quarterbacks get paid a lot of money. This quarterback helps slay the giant New England Patriots. This quarterback was a backup QB who helped the Philadelphia Eagles towards a championship. This quarterback didn't just help them win the championship. He outdueled Tom Brady. He won himself a Super Bowl MVP. I am talking about the recently retired Nick Foles. Now, God bless Nick Foles. He just retired, got a Super Bowl MVP. He's beloved in Philadelphia.
Man got a statue. OK, now here's the deal. After he had that success in 2018, the very next season, Nick Foles, he signed a four year, 88 million dollar contract with the Jacksonville Jaguars. Yeah, the Jacksonville Jaguars just saying their name should pretty much tell you all that you need to hear. They signed him to a bad contract.
Four years, 88 million dollars, 50 million dollars guaranteed. Nick Foles immediately hurt his shoulder. Gardner Minshew basically took over. Nick Foles came back. Then he got benched and then they pretty much cut him in the off season. Matter of fact, they traded him to the Bears for a fourth round pick. Nick Foles has been a journeyman. I mean, the last time we saw him in any type of significant action, if you want to call it significant, it was for the Colts. Nick Foles with the Jacksonville Jaguars, a joke of a franchise, even today.
Thank you, ShotKon. Nick Foles was all for four, had 736 yards passing, three touchdowns and two interceptions. All of this to get 50 million dollars guaranteed. Nick Foles did say this after retirement. He told this to NBC. He told them, listen, folks, I never wanted to leave Philly.
Listen to him. If it was really up to me, I don't know if I'd ever left Philly. I know my wife and I talk about it all the time. There was just so many unique circumstances that made it so it was probably the best at that time to, you know, for the team and for me. But Philly has always been my favorite spot, always been the team where, you know, I wish I could have stayed there my whole career.
There's nothing like Philadelphia. Everyone always asks me, where's your favorite stadium to play in? What's your favorite team? It's like there's nothing better than running out of the league and primetime game, wearing the midnight green or the black. And I'm sort of bummed because now the Kelly green jerseys are coming out and I was waiting my whole career to put on one of the Kelly greens. But I'm sure I can hit up Greg in the equipment room and have him send me one.
Those are the sweetest jerseys, I think. Yeah, well, he can get him one in retirement. Nick Foles. He might be a legend in Philadelphia.
He ended up with one of the worst contracts in NFL history, thanks to the Jacksonville Jaguars. I got Nick Foles in number six. What's the next number? Number five.
At number five. I'm sorry, Philadelphia. I'm sticking with another one of your quarterbacks. At least the Eagles didn't hand out this contract. Oh, that's right.
They did. At number five, I got you Carson Wentz. Oh, yeah. Nick Foles replaced him because he got hurt. Remember? But then Carson Wentz could never stay healthy. Remember? And then Carson Wentz, you thought he was healthy and then he sucked. Do you remember? And despite all of this, in 2019, this man got a four year one hundred and twenty eight million dollar contract extension, one hundred and seven million dollars guarantee. He was so damn good.
So damn amazing. For the Philadelphia Eagles. But they said, no, son, sit down. We got jail and hurts now. You want a fresh start? OK, let's get you out of here, too.
You suck. Let's send you to the Indianapolis Colts. One hundred and twenty eight million dollars, one hundred and seven guarantee. This man got hurt in the playoffs, got the boot, came back in 2020, all of a sudden leading the NFL in interceptions.
Fifteen of them. It was then jail and hurts time. And then we see what this man has done. Hopefully he's not hanging in the same stink that Carson Wentz was. And when Carson Wentz got the boot and was sent to the Colts, of which he also sucked, by the way, and then got hurt. The fans in Philly, when it was time for Carson Wentz to actually get traded. I want you to listen to these fans. They were happy on NBC that he left.
Listen to this. I'm glad the trade happened. I'm glad everything's over with. You know, I want to just move on. But he's on sale now.
Ten bucks. Come get him. Yeah, our sporting goods in Wilmington will surely be marking down their remaining number 11 jerseys like way down. I think I'll sell somewhere else, though.
But it's just not here. Most people seem to like Carson and wish him well. Many think he'll play better than he did here because the Colts are a better team with better players and a better coach than Carson had here for the last couple of years. Nobody likes that guy. Nobody. Now he's backing up everybody's favorite quarterback in Kansas City and Patrick Mahomes. And please believe it. Nobody wants to see Carson Wentz play football. Nobody, especially nobody in Kansas City.
They don't want that. Carson Wentz is one of the worst contracts ever signed, ever doled out in NFL history. If I got Carson Wentz the number four, what's the next number?
Number four. How about this one? Let's get to a wide receiver. Because in the 90s, this man was lighting it up. This man dated left eye from TLC. This man has so much money here in Atlanta, Georgia. You would have thought that he was building a movie studio. Unfortunately, he was one of the headline athletes in an ESPN series called Broke. You got a lot of money, more money than any wide receiver ever made at the time.
His name is Andre Risen. Seventeen million dollars over five years. The Cleveland Browns gave him this cash after he played for the Falcons, after this man was a multiple time All-Pro, after this man was lighting it up.
Andre Risen was a celebrity. He was a big deal. But the problem is he had checked out from the Browns and the Browns and their fans had basically checked out from him, especially knowing the fact in the future that the Browns were leaving Cleveland, that everybody hated Bill Belichick. I don't think he's still sorry for what he did to Bernie. And the fact is, Andre sucked.
The first year's contract, 700 yards, 47 receptions and three touchdowns. The fans were booing him. They were booing the team. They were booing the owner, Art Modell. They were booing the whole situation. And Andre Risen was given the boot right after the season.
He told everybody, frankly, I'm ready to get the hell up on out of here. I don't deserve it. The other players don't deserve it. We don't make the bleeping move. So for all the haters out there, all the boos, bleep you too. I'll be glad when we get to Baltimore, if that's the case. We don't have any home field advantage. I've never been booed at home. Baltimore is our home. Baltimore, here we come. He got cut because he sucked.
Sorry. He went to Jacksonville, won a championship with the Green Bay Packers. And then, as we know, thanks to ESPN 30 for 30, he went broke.
Despite signing one of the biggest contracts, the biggest contract for a wide receiver at the time. Now, how about this? A couple of years ago, Andre Risen, he sat down with the ultimate Cleveland Browns show.
And he says, you know what? I actually I love and appreciate the fans. I grew up a Browns fan. And that's all water under the bridge. Listen to this. You know, I always wish well for Cleveland and the city of Cleveland.
That's why I came there to win a championship and to play for a great team, a great organization. That's just it was bad timing. That's all I could say.
What can I say? He says he's doing OK now. I hope he is.
I mean, when you are the star of a show called Broke, that is not a good thing for you. I got Andre Risen in number four on my list. We're talking about a top six list of the worst contracts ever doled out in NFL history. What's the next number? Number three. Oh, boy. What are the odds? And I know it's a different owner, but what are the odds that it's the Browns again?
Oh, my goodness. At number three on the list, you want to talk about one of the worst contracts in NFL history? It's the one that Deshaun Watson got. Two hundred and thirty million dollars, all guaranteed. They gave this man a guaranteed deal in 2022. He had more than 20, approximately 25, going on 30 sexual assault cases.
Now, we're all in the wind. They were all floating around when they signed him. They knew he was going to be suspended. He was suspended. He came back. He was hurt and then he sucked last year. And now he sucks this year. He's getting sacked all over the place. He seems distracted. He seems like he's been away from the game forever for a guy who looked like Harry Houdini with the football. Deshaun Watson, he just he just stinks.
He's awful. And how about this? A couple of weeks ago, we had another case of sexual assault against him. And what are we doing?
Is he going to have one every year that he exists? This is not a good thing. The Browns are stupid for giving this man two hundred and thirty million guaranteed. Risky, huh? Yeah.
It doesn't look like it's going to pay off. Oh, yeah. By the way, they traded away almost every draft pick over the next million years just to bring this massage lover onto the team. And just a couple of weeks ago, Deshaun Watson and the latest sexual assault allegations levied against him. He's just like, yeah, I mean, I don't have a comment.
My lawyer had the comment. And this is not a distraction. Just listen to this. Focus on football. I focus on keeping the main thing, the main thing.
And that's when I walk into this building, focusing on being the best quarterback I can be on the game plan and trying to be better than we were last week so we can get it done. Did you have any idea that this lawsuit was coming when you were on when you were playing Sunday? No, sir. I found out exactly whenever everyone else found out. Oh, yeah.
OK. He doesn't know anything. He shows up to work and collects his money. How difficult can it be to work hard when you're sacked more than anybody? Twenty six, twenty seven times and still know that you got two hundred and thirty million dollars coming your way.
I don't know how much of that is going to settlement, but that's still a lot of money. Deshaun Watson, I know it sounds crazy. I have him at number three on my list. One of the worst contracts in NFL history. I got him at three. What's next?
Number two. Oh, this used to be a hapless organization. Washington. Yeah, they used to have a hapless owner and Dan Snyder who gave out one of the dumbest contracts ever to Albert Hainsworth. They signed this man to a 100 million dollar contract for seven years just because just because Dan Snyder is an idiot. They signed him to the deal. Albert Hainsworth didn't even know if it was a good deal or a bad deal. He said, I could barely wake up.
My agent told me about it. He said Shanahan hated his guts. He said they misused him versus what he was doing with the Tennessee Titans. He didn't like the scheme. He basically quit. He was out of shape when he showed up. The man, he only played 20 games in D.C., finished with 37 tackles and four sacks in his first season. And he was done. He was cooked. They ended up moving the guy to the New England Patriots. One hundred million dollars for a guy who didn't even love football at the time. He says he hated the experience.
Take a listen to what he told the I-Formation podcast. After going through that stuff, I was like pretty much done. My 10th year, I was just like, man, I can't wait for this season to be over with and I'm done. Like, I don't I don't want to play football anymore. I didn't watch football, college, pros, definitely not pros for, I don't know, probably four years.
I didn't want to have anything to do with NFL football, anything. I mean, it was just it was just mentally drained because to absolutely love this game and play it from from six years old to, you know, 30. You know, I mean, like it's just to take that love away. That's what it was like. Like I had no more love for it.
And I, you know, now I'm like getting into I don't watch a whole lot of NFL, but you all watch college and all that stuff. And, you know, of course, watching my kids. You know, he loved that money that was coming in football. He didn't love that. I think the one hundred million dollars, forty one million of it guaranteed at the time.
In 2009, I think he didn't need to love anything else about football. Is that cash that that money hit his account? It's the J.R. Sportbrie show here with you on the Infinity Sports Network. We're going to take a break when we come back.

I don't know how many beers, but it's going to be a lot. Because the New York Mets, they just advanced to the National League Championship Series. The New York Mets defeat the Philadelphia Phillies. The final score is 4 to 1. Francisco Lindor hits the grand slam to give the New York Mets the lead. Put all the points up on the board.
That's all the points that they needed. He knocked this grand slam down in the sixth inning. And the New York Mets hold on. They now, this sounds crazy, the New York Mets now await the winner of the series between the Dodgers and the Padres. The Padres are going to try to eliminate the Los Angeles Dodgers tonight out in San Diego.
855-212-4227. When we come back on the other side of the break, in our next break, we'll hear the home run from Francisco Lindor. And Francisco Lindor is currently having a chat with Fox. A lot of people so critical of Francisco Lindor.
From the minute that he arrived with the New York Mets, I think he has turned all of that down this season. And it's about damn time. And so we'll hear some of the Mets in our next break.
It is the J.R. Sportbri show here with you on the Infinity Sports Network. The New York Yankees also handling business currently in Kansas City. They lead two to nothing in the top of the fifth.
This series is tied one all. Top six list. New Wednesday this evening, this afternoon, I'm sharing with you a top six list of the worst contracts ever doled out in the NFL. And number six, I gave you Nick Foles and number five, I gave you Carson Wentz. And number four, I gave you Andre Risen.
Yeah. Former wide receiver. Cleveland Browns gave him that money and then they gave him the boot before they ended up moving to Baltimore. And number three, I gave you Deshaun Watson. And number two, I told you Albert Haynesworth receiving one of the worst contracts we've ever had in the NFL. You can thank Daniel Snyder.
We can all be thankful that Daniel Snyder is gone. No longer part of the NFL. Now, if I have Albert Haynesworth at number two on the list, that doesn't leave us anywhere but right here with this number.
Number one. If I have to think about the worst contract ever doled out in NFL history, I do not have to go any further than Pittsburgh. A matter of fact, the guy who got the contract is in Pittsburgh. But the team that gave it to him is in Denver at number one on my list, the man who was on the receiving end of the worst contract in NFL history. His name is Russell Wilson. You could thank the Broncos.
Don't blame Russell. The Seattle Seahawks didn't want him. He didn't want the Seahawks. The Denver Broncos thought that they had something.
Oh yeah, a little swap out here. And then the Denver Broncos decided to give him $245 million over five years. $165 million guaranteed.
Well, here's the deal. The first year he sucked. It was terrible with Hackett. Awful, awful. And then Sean Payton takes over and Sean Payton is like, I don't want this guy.
He holds the ball too long. I need somebody like Bo Nix was just going to get it the hell up on out of here. And so what did they do? They got rid of the guy. That they gave $165 million guaranteed to.
And you want to know something? The Broncos are basically playing him, paying him almost $40 million, almost $40 million not to play for them. The Broncos are in cap help. And so the Steelers got him for like a million dollars. Another team is paying his entire salary for him to not even be there. Not Russell Wilson's fault.
I don't want to see scammed or scheme them. The Broncos are just stupid. Let's take a listen to the fancy Russell Wilson. He was he was so happy to be on his his new contract with the Steelers.
Listen to him from his introductory press conference. First of all, super grateful to be here, obviously, to be a Pittsburgh Steelers. It's a great tradition to be able to compete and to be able to go to go to work with these guys every single day is the gift of this game.
Enjoying the process of it all. And the reason why I wanted to come here because I want to be able to win championships with Coach Tomlin and these guys in the locker room. And yeah, this is something that Russell Wilson would say, oh, everything he says is perfect.
Of course it is. Mike Tomlin, a little bit more blunt about the situation. Mike Tomlin letting everybody know that, hey, the reason why we have Russell Wilson, the reason why we have Justin Fields. They're like two scolded dogs. They're scolded. They've been hurt.
They've been burned in their past environments. Go ahead and throw Arthur Smith in there. The new offensive coordinator fired from the Atlanta Falcons, who now runs the offense for the Steelers. Well, you want to know who didn't agree with the term scolded?
Russell Wilson, because Russell Wilson said, I'm not scolded from my time with the Broncos. They're still paying me a lot of money. And I learned a lot to listen to this.
I wouldn't say I'm scolded. I would say that if anything, I've just learned a lot. You know, and, you know, I think that internally you get better. You get tougher. You use your experiences, use the challenges that you've gone through to be the best version of you. And so I don't blink.
And I'm looking forward to the challenge and opportunity. Yeah, well, we all saw what happened. A guy blew out his his calf.
He just returned to practice today. Come on. Russell Wilson is crazy. He's such a goody two shoes. Everything is all positive. Everything is great. We can ignore basically the trade demand and requests going from Seattle and leave it.
We can ignore all of that. He's a goody two shoes. Ironically, the most goody two shoes quarterback of them all. He has the worst contract that I've ever seen in NFL history. Free agent history. They gave him that deal. But I'll tell you this. The Shawn Watson's contract.
It may end up at the top of the list sooner than later. But for today, right now, Russell Wilson's deal, it's taking the cake. Eight five five two one two forty two twenty seven.
That's eight five five two one two forty two twenty seven. Is there a worse free agent signing in NFL history? Let me remind you. Let me give you the top six if you just missed it. And number six, I gave you Nick Foles and number eight.
Excuse me. And number six, I gave you Foles and number five. I gave you Carson Wentz and number four. I gave you Andre Risen and number three. I gave you to Shawn Watson. Number two, I gave you Albert Haynsworth. And number one, I gave you Russell Wilson. Not talking about no rookie contracts, not talking about no rookie deal. What are some of the worst contracts that have ever been handed out in NFL history?
Somebody who played themselves into another deal. The phone lines are open. If you want to give me a holler, it's the J.R. Sportbreeze show here with you on the Infinity Sports Network. It's the J.R. Sportbreeze show here with you coast to coast. Of course, across the well them across the country, coast to coast on the Infinity Sports Network. I think I'm getting drunk from the New York Mets locker room. I don't know. Can you get drunk from watching on the screen?
There's a lot of beer flowing. The New York Mets advance to the National League Championship Series. They defeat the Phillies four to one on a Francisco Lindor grand slam in the sixth inning. The New York Mets. This is their first appearance in the National League Championship Series since 2015, when they beat the Cubs to advance to the World Series. Unfortunately, they lost to the Royals. Meanwhile, speaking of the Royals. They're playing in Kansas City right now, this minute, this second. They're in a tied up series with the New York Yankees.
People are too happy here. The Royals and the Yankees are tied. Two runs apiece.
Fifth inning. Patrick Mahomes is. Real hyped up there. Let's just put it that way. Patrick Mahomes is in attendance.
Eight five five two one two forty two twenty seven is eight five five two one two forty two twenty seven. We'll keep you up to date on all the baseball as it continues on. The New York Mets did their job. They won earlier in the afternoon. I should say the Tigers did their job. They won. They have one more victory they have to have against the Guardians before they advance, if they do. And we have another game that's going to start in about 15 minutes time.
The San Diego Padres are going to try to eliminate the Dodgers and mark their way to take on the Mets in the National League Championship Series. Eight five five two one two forty two twenty seven. That's eight five five two one two forty two twenty seven.
A matter of fact, let's take a listen before I get to your calls about the top six list. Let's listen to this this grand slam call. This is the run. These are all the runs the New York Mets needed. A grand slam by Francisco Lindor. It's how he rolls in the Mets radio network. Two and one to Lindor. Now the pitch swinging a drive towards the gap in right center.
It's pretty deep. It's back near the wall. It's gone.
It's gone. He may have just outdone himself. He has hit a grand slam. Yes, that man went out and did the job.
Francisco indoors. He has kept the Mets alive. This is a team that was under 10 games and 10 games below 500 throughout the course of the year. I thought the New York Mets were going to be an average as team. This shows you that man, no matter who you are, if your pitching can get going and your bats can get going, you can go on a run. We saw this last year with the Arizona Diamondbacks and the Texas Rangers. We're going to talk some more baseball at the top of the hour, give you an update on what's going on between the New York Yankees and the Kansas City Royals, who are currently tied at two runs apiece. Man, in the fifth inning, these guys, it's going to be real fun. Eight five five two one two forty two twenty seven. Alan is here from Toronto.
So you on the JR Sport, please show us up, Alan. Kenny Golladay, I won't stretch your memory too far, but he did all right in 2019 and 2018, possibly. But he signed a he signed a four year seventy two million dollar deal in 2020, went for the Giants. The first year he caught thirty seven thirty seven passes for seventy seventy six targets. Forty eight point seven percent for five hundred and twenty one yards and no touchdowns. But then the second year he only played four games.
That's all. You know, he's got six passes and one TD. So he got one TD in in two years. The Giants gave him they released him.
I don't know whether it was an unconditional release or an outright release. Does it matter? I don't think it matters. Well, Alan and those two. Alan, Alan, you're not you're not wrong because Kenny Golladay, do you know where he's playing right now? He's he's not playing anywhere as far as I know.
You go. And I guess this is something for the New York Giants because you might recall Darren Waller. They brought him over, gave him a three year fifty one million dollar contract. Hey, Alan, you know where down wall is playing football?
No, never heard of him. OK, well, that might get that might. Well, hold on. Slow down, Alan.
That might be the point. The New York Giants have been searching for pass catchers for so damn long. They sending money out to guys who don't don't do nothing. Golladay had a solid season with Detroit. The Giants decided to give him a check. Darren Waller. They bring him over from the Raiders.
They thought that he was going to be worth a damn. Darren Waller. I know people in common with him. Darren Waller is more interested in singing than what's going on right now. He was also married to Kelsey Plum from the Las Vegas Aces there. They're no longer married.
Hey, Alan, thank you for calling from Toronto. Golladay is only he's only 31. He's going to be 31 November the third. He's still got some mileage left on his.
No, I don't know why nobody wants him. There's no mileage left on the tread when the engine doesn't work. That's your heart, Alan. You know that. Thank you for calling from Toronto, man. Great show. Thank you very much for taking my call.
Absolutely. Thank you, Alan, for calling from Toronto. Eight five five two one two forty two twenty seven. That's eight five five two one two forty two twenty seven. I gave you a top six list. Some of the worst NFL contracts ever. And number six, I gave you Nick Foles. Jacksonville Jaguars given him that deal. Four years, 88 mil. And number five, I gave you Carson Wentz. Eagles gave him four years.
One hundred and twenty eight. The guy could never stay healthy. And then when he was healthy, he threw interceptions. What a what a career for a number two pick.
Nice backing up Patrick Mahomes. And number four, I gave you Andre Risen. This man did not rise in Cleveland. He fell. He fell so much that when they finally moved to Baltimore, they didn't want him.
And then we know he went broke. And number three, I gave you Deshaun Watson. He has the potential to climb all the way up to number one. Deshaun Watson. Two hundred and thirty million dollars guaranteed for all of those sexual assault cases. It's too much money for a pervert. And number two, I gave you Albert Haynsworth.
We can thank Daniel Snyder for that. Albert Haynsworth got the money. Didn't want to play. Was too lazy. Was fat.
Was out of shape. Didn't like the coaching and then quit. And number one, worst contract in NFL history. You could thank the Denver Broncos. Giving Russell Wilson a two hundred and forty five million dollar deal over five years. One hundred and sixty five million guaranteed. The contract was so bad. They are paying him almost 40 million dollars. To not play in Pittsburgh. He just practiced today for the first time.
Good for him. Good luck, Russell Wilson. Eight five five two one two forty two twenty seven. That's eight five five two one two forty two twenty seven. Anthony is calling from Buffalo. You're on the JR Sport. We show us up, Anthony. Hey, JR. How are you doing, man?
I'm amazing. Let's keep this Giants train going. What do you think about Daniel Jones's contract? It's bad, but one of the worst ever, though. Four years.
One sixty. Not one. It's one of the worst, but is it one of the worst ever? More so just curious how you thought it measures up, really?
I don't I don't think it falls in the category of one of the worst ever. Look, he did a good job. Both he and Saquon Barkley that one season stayed healthy. They went and beat the Minnesota Vikings and then they came back to earth the very next season.
And we saw what took place. Daniel Jones got hurt. What else is new? Saquon Barkley stayed healthy, got himself a new job in Philadelphia.
And Daniel Jones is now a sitting duck. You know, and I get it. The Giants looked good last game.
Well, let's be real. What can we expect from them? They're going to cut bait at the end of the season. Even the general manager's son of the New York Giants, Joe Shane's son, knows that Daniel Jones needs to be replaced. So it's going to be a long stretch for them to figure out who the next QB is going to be.
Daniel Jones, I think he's in his last season. I'm not going to get too high on a good game here or there. OK. Appreciate it. Thanks, man. Love the show.
Thank you so much. Shout out to all my folks in western New York. Thank you, Anthony. Eight five five two one two forty two twenty seven.
That's eight five five two one two forty two twenty seven. We got Matt is calling from Buffalo as well. Matt, you're on the J.R. sport brief show. Hey, J.R., back to back people from Buffalo is pretty, pretty interesting there. Not all that interesting.
Western New York loves me and I love him back. This one is a little bit interesting and it's not the worst contract because of the player, because he was a great player for us. But the extension that the bills gave to Stefan Davis was terrible because they gave him four years and ninety six million dollars.
And he didn't play a single down of it. And it cost the bill thirty one million in debt cap space to trade up. And, you know, they did get a second round pick, but it's a second round pick worth thirty one million in cap space.
Probably not. Well, don't don't. Well, yeah, you don't forget the sixth round pick you picked up as well. Don't forget that one. OK. Oh, yeah.
I mean, what do you know? Well, we gave up that too. We gave him a fifth or something. Yeah.
You gave him a twenty twenty five fifth round pick for next season. So are you are you concerned and were you not happy with what the bills are doing? You don't like the spread it out offense?
I do to a degree. And I mean, I think we kind of reached our peak with where dates and, you know, that version of the bills could go, because in the games that really mattered, he was kind of a no-show. I mean, the last pass that Alan Trudeau was a perfect 70 yard bomb that he literally was right in his hands. He dropped off the playoff that much in the playoff games that mattered for us when we got eliminated. He basically didn't show up. He quit.
Well, let's let's see what happens at the end of the season if they're going to need that game breaker out there. Thank you so much, Matt, for calling from Buffalo. It's the J.R. Sportbree show here with you on the Infinity Sports Network. Eight five five two one two forty two twenty seven.
That's eight five five two one two forty two twenty seven. We're going to take a break. When we come back on the other side, I will take more of your calls.
We're talking about some of the worst NFL contracts ever. We're going to talk more baseball. The New York Mets advance to the National League Championship Series. The New York Yankees and the Royals are battling. Damn it, we're going to have the Padres and the Dodgers doing the same. We got more to get into. It's the J.R. Sportbree show on the Infinity Sports Network.
