I hope you're well. It don't matter where you're at, what you're doing, or who you are. Thank you for tuning in to the show. I'm coming to you live from Atlanta, Georgia. Shout out to the Super Producer and Host Ryan Hickey. He's coming to you live from New York City.

In the next two hours, you can consider this halftime. There is no show. There's no Shakira. There's no Usher. There's no music. There's none of that. There's just me.

More me. The show gets started every single weekday at 6 p.m. Eastern, 3 Pacific. And we've had a fun show so far. We've been able to talk about the trade of Russell Westbrook to the Utah Jazz. But he's not staying on the Jazz. He's being released. He's negotiating a buyout.

And then he's going to the Denver Nuggets. We're going to have a chat with Matt Moore from the Action Network. We'll have that chat in about 20 minutes. We also had a great conversation with Jordan Dajani from CBS Sports to talk all things NFL especially. Knowing that, on August 1st, we got the Bears. We have the Texans and the Hall of Fame game. We talked about CJ Stroud. We talked about Caleb Williams and so much more.

If you missed any of it, hit rewind on the Free Odyssey app. If you want to talk to me, you can do so too. The phone number 855-212-4227.

At JR Sport Brief. What a day. What a day.

Picky, it's Thursday. Is this week going by fast or slow? I think it's going by pretty fast. Man, today is July 18th? July 18th. We just had the 4th. Is it September yet? Are we there?

That's the scary part. I love football season but I also love summer. I don't want to rush through summer to get there and it feels like we are just blowing right by. Isn't the weather in New York like 100 degrees in hell right now?

Is that what it is? Today was actually very nice. We had a massive storm yesterday and the humidity is gone for today. Lovely.

Good for you. Did it wash the trash off the street? Well, to find trash.

In some cases, yes. Moved it around a little bit. Also, not to brag, I don't know if you've seen the new invention that New York City has stumbled upon?

Wait, no, I will guess. It's not the trash cans. It's the trash cans. Spent a lot of money to study that trash is better in cans. You shouldn't just throw the bags piled up on the street?

They somehow realize that's not the best idea to keep the rats away. Now, I thought it wasn't until you got like two years before you have to implement the trash can on the street. You're telling me that people are using the new trash cans already?

No, no, no, no. Some trash cans have been already out there before but no, in terms of this new, can we say law, rule, whatever you want to call it, being implemented? It will take a while. Now, you may not have this answer.

I don't expect you to. I feel, and maybe it's not a question to you, I feel forever, for the past forever, if you were a business in New York City in Manhattan, if you put a trash can, if you put your trash in a can out on the sidewalk to be collected, I feel like you would be, the garbage guy, the garbage man, the trash collector, the sanitation worker, would ignore your can and you'd probably get a fine. Do you think that's accurate? I don't know. I guess maybe they're used to just the piles and if they don't see the piles they just keep on moving.

I never thought about that from their perspective. Why didn't a genius wake up? Why didn't some business owner say, you know what, I'm not putting my trash in a garbage bag on the side of the curb.

I'm going to be a civilized person. I'm going to put it in a trash can. Why does nobody ever do that? It has to be a thing where the sanitation worker is like, it's not in the bag, we're not picking it up.

It has to be. I think part of the problem is there's just too much trash. Yeah, you can't put them in cans. There's just mountains of trash that are too big for the can.

You know what, you start going in different places. Like here in Georgia, the sanitation guy in a lot of places, he doesn't have to get out the truck, Hickey. You've seen it where the arm picks up the can and puts it in and keeps it moving.

Wow, that's pretty sweet. Yeah, well you can do that when you don't have a million... A mountain of trash staring at you? Yeah, the man pulls the garbage thing up and the arm picked the sanitation worker, his back is fine. Now, I've got friends who work in sanitation in New York.

I can't even run you through the physical ailments, Hickey. I can't. I mean, the stuff people throw out that you are responsible of discarding must be... No, my man would be like, yo, that's too big. Nope. This giant desk, yep, it's labeled for someone else. They'll get it.

Yeah, like that's not for us. You figure that out. You know, I feel a lot of times if people are so inconsiderate, and not just with their own private trash, like I'm not a fan of people littering. Like, why you gotta litter?

Is it necessary? I get it. It's a world. It's not yours specifically, but it belongs to all of us.

I sound like someone who cares about planet Earth and our future, but I do. Like, is it necessary for you to throw your McDonald's cup out on, like, why? I don't know.

I mean, it's just me. The only place that's appropriate to leave your trash on the floor, and even sometimes that's a little odd, the baseball stadium. Hickey, the baseball stadium. What about movie theater? If you ever go in there again. You see those big ass trash? Movie theaters have some of the biggest trash cans you'll ever see in your life. And they are all situated when you walk out the theater.

Hickey, you know what that means? Throw it at yourself. That means pick your stuff up outside of, you know, you dropping popcorn, which is inevitable because they fill it up past the brim. Like, throw out your trash.

What's so difficult about that? I don't know. Like, it's like the subway. Remember, didn't they say they had a reduction of trash in the subway because people had to carry it?

Did that work? Or did the rats eat it? Like, what happened?

Well, I don't want to know the answer because I think it might be the ladder there. Oh, the rats ate the trash? I mean, there's a lot of them around, and people just throw things on the track like it's the trash can. Well, there will now be a 50% reduction in rats in New York due to these new trash cans. New York City has discovered trash cans. If New York City was smart, Hickey, you know what they do? What's that?

The Department of Sanitation would find a sponsor for the cans. Ooh. Yeah, yep. Because you got to buy them. Yeah, you as the individual got to buy them, too, right?

Companies? Yeah. And they're buying it- Part of the reason why I'm sure they haven't been bought before.

What do you mean? So, you know, if you're a business owner and you have these mountains of trash that, you know, you got to put in five or six trash cans, that's five or six trash cans you got to buy. Oh, you buy it?

Investment, right? I don't know. Maybe to save up on sidewalk cleaning expenses. Do you- these people cleaning the sidewalk, they got to power wash it, right? I don't know.

Some do. Making stuff up. Everything is filthy anyway. I can't wait to see the trash cans outside the building. Anyway, I'm not even going to get into what people are going to start throwing at them.

Anyway, let's keep it moving. I got to briefly tell you before we chat with Matt Moore. I got to tell you about a few things or people that are not trash, because I guess we have reached the point of life.

A year away from 2025, ESPN decided to share a list of the top 100 athletes of the 21st century. OK, you know who that doesn't mean? You know what that means? I don't know.

Hickey, I got to talk. This is not my top six list, but I know there's going to be some people that go, why there's no Bill Russell on the list? This is the 21st century, the current century that we are living in, OK? We're not last century, not back in time, now. So there's no Muhammad Ali.

This is basically from the year 2001 until now. ESPN says, Hickey, I should do the countdown, not with our fancy stuff, though. Number one. That's a good imitation. Hickey, did you do the voice? Was that you? That was me. That was you? Well, damn, how about that? When were you going to tell me?

Never? I thought you were being sarcastic, to be honest, and that it sounded like crap, so I'll take it. I got a future.

Watch out. Oh, that was you? Yeah, that was me.

No, who voiced that? Yes. For real?

For real. Let's hear it. Let's hear it again.

Number one. No, the real one, no. Oh, oh, oh, oh.

I was saying the real one. OK. No, you didn't voice the... No, that's not you. That's not you. No.

Why are you pulling, why are you flim-flamming the listeners? I just did it on my own. No, yeah, but I'm saying you didn't record that. That wasn't you. I just said it on the air.

I didn't, you know, I didn't play the drop. Oh. Oh, no, no, no, no. What I thought you were saying is when that sound was created about four years ago, five years ago, I thought you were saying that it was your voice. Oh. No, clearly not. You can tell the difference. That is, that's a professional right there.

They can do imaging. I was like, I think I know who did. I'm sure I know who did that. Anyway, top 100 athletes of the 21st century. ESPN says Tom Brady is number five. LeBron James is number four. Lionel Messi is number three. Serena Williams is number two.

And Michael Phelps with all of his 20 plus gold medals is number one. I got I got no debate with any of this. You got you got any objections? I looked at Brady and LeBron and had to go, oh, yeah, you know, but I get it. I get it. Messi.

Yeah, I get it all. You know, maybe Messi could go in front of Serena, but Serena with all the grand slams, Messi has so much hardware plus the World Cup. I just I can't argue Michael Phelps at number one.

Some of these other things you can move around a little bit. You know, maybe I put Messi in front of Serena. What do you think about what they came up with? Number one, I'm with you. Michael Phelps is just dominant. No, it's not the mainstream sport we're looking at, but like he was just an athlete when he was in his prime. That was truly unstoppable.

I like that one. I like they went creative and not, you know, Tom Brady or LeBron because everyone watches that man has 28 medals. Crazy. He has 23 gold medals, three silver and two bronze and the medals that are not gold. He basically was in the Olympics when he was like three years old. So, I mean, not necessarily, but he had just started.

He was out there in 2000 winning non gold medals. So he was just warming up. He's crazy, man. He is unbelievable.

I will say like. When it comes to Tom Brady. I think I put him probably to to be honest with you. You put above Messi, above Serena. Not Messi.

No, why not? He's won. I don't want to be counting World Cups here, but that's for a while.

Never came through until two years ago. Isn't that the big like isn't the World Cup? I mean, some guys never win it and he did.

I mean, it's the guys following Diego Maradona. Oh, my God. But Brady won seven. He has more than any other franchise. Yeah.

But when you when you think about mess, it's OK. Sure. That's that's a franchise. That's correct. Lionel Messi, his life was basically shot out of a cannon. He is one. If you think about MVPs, he has eight Ballon d'Or's. He's won more trophies. He's been FIFA's best player.

He has won everything that you could ever imagine. And I think it's more difficult to be honest, given that you're playing so many international games. I got to be honest.

I know I'm being a whole lot of honest, a lot of honesty here. Messi's his life to not win a World Cup. They would have destroyed this dude. He wouldn't have been as high up on the list if he didn't win a World Cup.

He he would have been he might have been even further back behind Serena. It's just impressive what he has done domestically, what he's done internationally. And I think it carries so much more weight. And I hate to say this. I sound like the American. But then the just won the Super Bowl. Tom Brady at two. Damn.

Damn. Well, he got Olympic. He got Olympic gold medal to Hickey. Tom Brady. Tom Brady don't have that because nobody cares. You're right. He does. He does not have that. I can't argue that fact. I can't argue the fact that Tom Brady doesn't have a World Cup, but. Oh, yeah.

All right. So you put Tom Brady at number two behind Michael Phelps? I would.

I think for all the winning he has done in the consistent level of winning, I would put him number two. OK. And would you do you drop Serena to five? No, no, no, no. Serena Serena is up there. I would. I mean.

Probably. I mean, I think three is fair for Serena. I think behind Tom Brady. So Lebron. Lebron would be five. Lebron, I would say yes, would be five if you want to put Messi.

Look, I'll be honest. Soccer is not my forte. Right.

So there's definitely some ignorance there. So if I will listen to you in terms of Messi's greatness, we can have a discussion on putting him over Lebron. Four or five. OK. Yeah. Messi is he's one of the greatest soccer players. Ever.

Like everybody here. Michael Phelps is the best swimmer. Serena Williams, especially.

I got no shame in it. I think Serena Williams is the best women's tennis player ever, especially if you think about the open era. Lebron James is one of the greatest bass. These are all the greatest ever. Have you actually these are the greatest ever. I hate the term goat. But when you think about the past, you know, 25 ish years.

These these are the best of the best. I got no issues or qualms, but in this I would still take Michael Jordan over Lebron any day of the week. Sorry. I'm just saying, you know, who doesn't like this list and I wonder if he even looked at it. Ronaldo. Ronaldo is just he's like, damn it. Messi done came up above me. Where did Ronaldo fall on this ESPN 100 list?

I looked that up. Let's see. Well, yeah, well, I got to find where he is. Ronaldo to play Ronaldo. Tom Brady. We're going to find that out because I know Ronaldo where he is. He's crying. Oh, damn.

Here's the rest of it. Roger Federer at six. Simone Biles at seven. Tiger Woods at eight. Usain Bolt at nine. Kobe 11. Novak Djokovic 11. Rafa Nadal 12.

Ronaldo 13. Yeah, a lot of people are upset at this list. It's the JR sport re-show here with you on the Infinity Sports Network. We're going to take a break when we come back. We're going to have a chat with Matt Moore from the Action Network. Covers all things Nuggets. Why? Because one of the best basketball players of the last 25 years.

Russell Westbrook is on his way to the Mao Hao City. We're going to talk to Matt on the other side. It's the JR sport re-show. The Infinity Sports Network. You're listening to the JR sport brief. The JR sport re-show here with you on the Infinity Sports Network. Coast to coast. They got a lot of news going on in the NBA right now.

Russell Westbrook is on his way to the Denver Nuggets. Zach Eddy just sprained his ankle. What a shock. Alex Sar.

I don't know. Did he remember how to play basketball? Bronny James finally made it three. His dad is playing in London getting ready for Sudan. There's a lot going on to talk about it all as Matt Moore, who covers all things basketball for the Action Network, as well as the Denver Nuggets locked on Nuggets. Hey, Matt, how are you?

Thank you for taking the time. Doing well, man. How are you? I'm very well.

I have no complaints at all. I guess right out of the box, we had this trade and we will have a negotiation and we will have a Russell Westbrook heading to the Nuggets. What are your initial thoughts? Yeah, so this has been going for quite a while. Nuggets were kind of keyed in on Westbrook as early as kind of the opening of free agency. Nikola Jokic was a big reason why this deal was going to happen. He's made it clear that he would like to see Russell Westbrook in a Nuggets uniform.

They've gotten along really well through the years at All-Stars, so they have a preexisting relationship. And I think Jokic really appreciates the way that he plays and just kind of his general presence in the locker room. Russ, for all of his ups and downs, is beloved in locker rooms.

He was beloved in OKC and in Houston and Washington and with the Clippers. The Lakers were the weird exception to that, and I don't know what happened there. But it's not just the other players. You talk about coaches and training staff.

Everybody that's basically not media tends to have a really good relationship with Russell Westbrook. So having him, I think, bring something there. They need a backup point guard. They just need anybody that can play backup point guard. They had kind of planned on trying Jalen Pickett, who Calvin Booth really believed in as a draft prospect, and that hasn't worked out. So they've now kind of pivoted.

I think Russ, there's going to be the same kind of ups and downs there always are with Westbrook, but overall it's a low-cost move, I think, for Denver to get a real upgrade in a position of need. Well, Matt, knowing that they've lost so much since they won the championship in regards to depth pieces, does this move the needle for them at all? They still come in the top six-ish, top eight most definitely. Yeah, I think they're probably higher than that just because they still have Nicole Jokic, and they did win 57 games last season, tied a franchise record, and we're at 20 in Game 7 of that second-round series versus the Wolves. But they've gotten worse, like you mentioned. They got worse when Bruce Brown left and they didn't replace him. They got worse when KCP left and they didn't replace him, and Westbrook doesn't replace KCP for a number of reasons. So this is more of replacing and trying to upgrade on Reggie Jackson. They're hoping that internal improvement will get them home in terms of replacing KCP.

There's a lot of belief in Christian Brown. They want to give him first shot at it. But I do think that Denver is going to have to figure out a lot. This is going to be a year where they're trying to figure out who they are again after kind of knowing who they were with last year starting five that won a title. So having to figure out a lot of new stuff, having to change a lot, trying to figure out a lot of stuff in season while also resting the starters more.

So that's going to be a challenge. They'll win, I think, 50-plus games, but they're going to be a team that you can't just be like, well, they're going to be there in the end. No, they're vulnerable like most teams in the league are at this point.

Matt Moore is joining us from the Action Network. You talk about the team that traded Russell Westbrook today and lost Paul George and is bringing back an aging James Harden and Kawhi Leonard. They're also moving into a new arena, the Intuit Dome. What are the Clippers doing? Are they in for a rough couple of years here?

What was going on? Yeah, I was honestly pretty bummed by their decision making this summer where it was very much a half measure type of deal. Oh, we're moving into this great new arena. We can't have a rebuilding team. So we'll just keep Kawhi Leonard and then let Paul George walk because of the second apron. And it's like, okay, so Kawhi will be there as often as he ever is.

Harden will be Harden, but in a diminished state as he's kind of gotten worse year over year. Last year was pretty good. They had some good pieces. Obama, this Chris Dunn deal is actually pretty good. Chris Dunn gave Utah some good minutes last year, but does this look like a contender?

No. So, you know, I just wonder, going back to the decision to extend Kawhi Leonard, why not take that opportunity? If you were going to look at the Paul George situation and go, hey, we're not going to give you whatever it takes to keep you. We're not willing to go into second apron and knowing that things were pretty bad in terms of what Paul George was expecting and the difference there. Why not get aggressive? Why not move Kawhi Leonard and try and get a young star for you to build around?

Why not try and pivot so that you have something a little bit more interesting than just like, hey, it's still Kawhi. Maybe I don't really get the point in what they did. They're just kind of like, are they bad? No, it's pretty good.

That should be fine. Are they going anywhere? Not really. Matt Moore here with us from the Action Network. You talk about young talent.

That would have been a good idea for them. We got a young a lot of young talent out west. You think about a Sacramento adding an older guy in the DeMar DeRozan. You think about Houston. You can look at Memphis.

Zach Edie unfortunately sprained his ankle today. What team do you think is poised to make a jump next season? Yeah, I don't know if it's a jump because they finished number one in the Western Conference, but the Thunder just stacked. Getting Alex Caruso and Isaiah Hartenstein without having to give up a single first round pick is just wizardry.

I talked to a few executives the night that all that went down and there was a combination of disbelief and frustration of just like, how does Pressy keep doing this? How does he take this team and get better in those specific areas? I honestly don't really know how to put a number on where OKC is going to be at if they're healthy next season based off of how good they already were. That doesn't mean they're going to win the title, but regular season they're going to be an absolute beast to deal with I think in the Western Conference.

I do like the Kings quite a bit. I think DeMar DeRozan is a pretty good fit for the regular season playoff and still have some questions about think they're in kind of a weird position. I've got my eye a little bit more on play on some of the East teams, but you mentioned like the young guys really love what he's doing right right now. You know, talk about them trading for Kevin Durant. They're going to continue to be in the market for a big superstar. But you look at that bench unit, Cam Whitmore, Tari Eason, who's a defensive beast, Allen Thompson, who I loved as a draft pick, and now putting Reed Shepherd with that group has been great in summer league. Like that second unit for the Rockets reminds me of the Baby Bulls from back in the 2000s with so much talent and that's their bench unit. So I think there's a lot of reasons for optimism for at least an exciting season from Houston coming up. Matt Moore joining us from the Action Network.

You're listening to the JR Sport re-show on the Infinity Sports Network. You talk a little bit about a summer league and some of the talent that we've seen. Alex Sar has had a rough go. Bronny James, it took him until last night to get going.

Zach Eady has been busted up. You know, people were killing Victor Wibanyama early last year in summer league. How much do you draw into what some of these prospects are doing? I think it's so contextual because there's so many guys that will look great in summer league because it is an open run, essentially. You've practiced with guys for four days and if your athleticism and control of the game looks great, that's really promising.

Now, I couch that with that's exactly how Scott Henderson looked at me last year. He looked like an NBA pro every single game of summer league and I had really high expectations for him and it just didn't translate. But then there are times when it does where Paulo Bancaro was just a monster in summer league and then he wound up winning Rookie of the Year. I think it depends on the team that you've got.

I think it's how you fit in. How much does the role that you get to play in summer league mirror what you have to do in the regular season with the staff around you? I think so much of it is these guys have very specific goals, whether it's the guys down the roster trying to prove something and make it into the league. Or whether it's the team doing things like, hey, we don't really care if you shoot, we really want you to work on playmaking and rebounding. Those kind of things that they're working on in summer league are not going to translate to guys always looking great. And some of the things where guys just get to do whatever, that's not going to happen for them in the league. So it's good to assess the athleticism and how much control they have, but I think you should never go too far one way or the other based off of summer league. Matt, who do you think is best positioned to win Rookie of the Year?

That's a good question, man. I like how Zachary Ricochet looks with the Hawks as the number one pick. He looks under control, which is going to help him, but he also doesn't look like a guy that's going to put up big numbers. Obviously, off of his summer league performance, Reed Shepherd is going to be a big name. But I also love Shepherd to begin with coming into the draft process, and most of the consultants I know that work with teams, a lot of them had Reed Shepherd number one on their draft boards. So to me, Shepherd seems like the guy that has the most ability, but he's got to earn the minutes on a Houston team that's got a lot of guys in front of him. So we'll see kind of how that kind of shakes out. The other one I think is kind of interesting is I like what I've seen from Ron Holland from the Pistons, and Madhav Basilis has just been do-it-all for a bowl team that I think is really going to emphasize going young.

I think they're eventually probably going to position themselves to try and get Cooper Flagg. But Basilis and Holland are two other guys I think have looked pretty good in summer league. Summer league is going on. What are you looking forward to in a couple of weeks in the Olympics? I think the Team USA is a lot more fun than I think I expected it to be, just because sometimes these guys just throw the talent together and expect it to work. But especially that second unit, I just love the way that second unit plays together with Devin Booker, Anthony Edwards, when he staggers with that unit, and he will with Kevin Duras back, with how Bam Adebayo and Anthony Davis get to play together. And then I really like the minutes when they let Tyrese Albert play point guard and actually distribute because he's such a great passer.

Obviously, watching LeBron at age 40 be this good is still such a treat, and watching him next to Steph is a cool experience. But I actually kind of like the way the little things with Team USA are working out. But that said, I do think that there will be some challenges. They handled Serbia without two of their guys pretty comfortably. They got by Australia. But there's teams like Germany that I think are going to be able to give them a real run, depending on what happens in the group stages. Should be interesting, but also only interesting to a point because Team USA really should roll. Hey Matt, we expect Team USA to walk away with the gold. We're going to blink, and it's going to be October.

I'm not trying to rush it, but I can't believe we're already on July 18th. When the NBA season is upon us, what are you looking forward to the most? I'm looking at some of the younger teams and some of the bad teams looking to get better. I'm excited about some of these teams like the Charlotte Hornets with Charles Lee, who seem to be really trying to change the culture there. Was disappointed by some of their free agency stuff, but overall Brandon Miller has been really good.

I think there's a lot of optimism there. I'm all in on the Pistons. I think this is the year the Pistons finally get it together after last year's disastrous nightmare of a season. K to really turn the corner last year. And so getting to see him with actual NBA players like Tobias Harris and Link Beasley I think will help him. So I'm looking forward to those kind of young teams and then Memphis getting back into that Western conference picture where you still got so many teams that are so good. The West is stacked, and so every single night is going to be a real battle.

Can't wait to see how it plays out next season. Hey Matt, thank you so much for the time. Where can people follow you and all of your work written and the podcast, everything on the Action Network?

No, he didn't get a new contract. But there's a lot of optimism in Miami. And not just on the offensive side of the ball. We'll get into that. Your calls.

We got a lot to do. You're listening to the JR Sport Brief. Yeah, you heard Bubba Dub.

Legend, legend, legend, legend. 855-212-4227. That's 855-212-4227. Thank you oh so much to Matt Moore from the Action Network for joining us in the last break as we talked all things NBA. I'm going to get to the phone lines in a second.

I just got to get this out here and we can talk more about it later. Hickey, man. Nick Saban. He already got his name on Brian Denny Field, man. I like that. Good. Good for him. What are you waiting for at this point, you know? Well, they didn't wait for him. Not like Diana Taurasi.

They named the practice court after her. He's gone, but still alive to appreciate. I think it's the best case scenario. Yeah, I'm not mad at him. Good for him. He already got a statue out there, so why the hell not? No big deal.

Good for him. Do you think people will call it, though, Nick Saban Field at Brian Denny Stadium? Oh my.

No. Now that that part, that type of stuff, I don't got patience for, man. I think some of these stadiums and we have so many new stadiums all across the country now. The old ones, I feel like the names are pretty just sponsored corporate well, sponsors and corporations.

I can't get with the this is this why I feel that X, Y, Z stadium, man. I'm just going to call it whatever it is. I still want to call Lincoln Financial, the vet. OK. Am I wrong for that?

No, not at all. Place doesn't even exist anymore. But that's what I want to call it. I want to call. I want to bring Shea Stadium back.

I don't want Citi Field. It's just me, eight five five two one two forty two twenty seven Thomas calling from Pennsylvania. You're on the J.R. sport reshow.

Tom, what's up? J.R., please help me understand this Westbrook trade. The Jazz get the second round pick swap cash considerations. The Clippers get a guy that plays 10 minutes a game and the Nuggets are gifted a Hall of Famer that can still ball and don't even have to send a thank you card. I don't understand how this is allowed.

What's so what's so difficult to understand? None of these guys are worth a dollar or a penny. I mean, in the case of Russell Westbrook, he just opted into a contract which would have netted him four million bucks. They're going to negotiate a buyout. He's probably going to sign for three million dollars when he shows up.

This is this what happens when you're in the back end of your career. I mean, if this was Russell Westbrook still at his the peak of his his career, making 50 million dollars, I think you'd have a case. But Westbrook, take away his name, his MVP, his accomplishments. He's he's playing for NBA pennies, pennies relative to what the other superstars are making. Well, I don't understand why the Clippers wouldn't have tried to get rid of them in their salary to give Paul George some more money. You know, I guess they didn't want Paul George either.

Let me let me. Well, I think that was quite apparent. Let me explain this again. Russell Westbrook would have made four million dollars this year. There is no saving anything when Paul George is saying, I want another year and I want another 30 million dollars on top of that. This is the main point. Russell Westbrook salary is a drop in the bucket. That's it.

They know saving anything on four million dollars. Nothing. He didn't want to.

He did not want to be there. The Utah Jazz. Why Danny Ainge is trying to strip him down to the studs?

I have no idea. And for the Denver Nuggets, this is good for them because they get a backup point guard. Somebody who's past his prime but could still play. They got to pay nothing. Life ain't always fair. If you want to talk about something being not fair in the NBA. Talk about the salary structure where guys can't keep their own talent because the talent has to be spread the hell up on out because you can't pay four, five, six guys on one team 30, 40, 50 million dollars that that may not be fair.

Ask the Golden State Warriors about fair, even though they probably didn't want Klay Thompson back either. All right. I appreciate it. Can I ask you one more thing before I go? Depends.

Yes. Tiger Woods. Do you want to see him out there still looking like he does now or not? I've been done with Tiger Woods. OK. All right. I agree. Thank you, Tom. All right, brother.

Thank you so much. Tiger Woods is he may not make the cut at the open. OK. Hickey, are you sick of Tiger Woods?

Not sick of him, but do you think he needs to just stay home? Yes. Sick.

No, but like, am I interested in seeing him in any major absolute at this point? No. Same thing. Oh, my God.

This man is eight shots over. Oh, my God. Oh, my God. Oh, yeah, it's not good. Not good.

Not good at all. Can we just wait on his son? How old is his boy? Is he really 10? Something like that. He's like I think a high school, 14, 15.

What? Charlie, is that his name? Yeah, Charlie. He's older than you think. Oh, he's a teenager, I think. Oh, my. Fifteen years old. Yeah.

Hit puberty. Well, he was born in 2000. Whoa, what? That is that scary. That hurts to hear. My goodness.

Wow. Can we just wait on him for a few years? Get Tiger out of here.

What is Tiger Woods trying to do the LeBron James? Is that what he's waiting on? We don't need we do not need that, bro.

We do not need that. Eight, five, five, two, one, two, forty, two, twenty seven. That's eight, five, five, two, one, two, forty, two, twenty seven. Chris is calling from Baltimore. You're on the J.R. support. What's up, Chris? Hey, J.R., how are you tonight? I'm amazing.

What's on your mind? Awesome. Well, I was listening to you talking about these the five greatest athletes in their respective sports since 2000. Right.

So I'm just going to go down real quick. I'll go down real quick on the list with each sport. I think personally, Serena Williams is period the greatest tennis player of all time. OK. Against women or the men because of her twenty three grand slams. I don't see where that would be. You know, a major fight trying to, you know, defend that. And then if we move on, you can talk about basketball. You could look at a joke of virtue as 24. You could if you wanted to. Yeah.

Now, if we're talking about basketball, I would say Seth Curry because he's got the four titles. Now, if you go even older than that, kind of like a a traveling man. What about Robert Horry? It's funny as it sounds. Hold on. Hold on. Hold on a second, Chris. Hold on. Chris, you're on hold.

Nobody can hear you, Chris. This this list from ESPN is from the twenty first century, Chris. Twenty first century.

Twenty first century. Yeah. OK. Not not not Robert Horry. OK. Not not Michael Jordan. Not not Bill Russell. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.

No, no, no. I wasn't going to mention those. I did like the thought of Michael Phelps. What about Michael Phelps? Chris, Derek Jeter.

What about Derek Jeter? Chris, you said you heard the conversation. Me and Hickey both said Michael Phelps deserves to be a number one.

A guy got twenty eight medals. What are you going to say? Well, definitely. I would think he's maybe not number one. I don't know. I guess I would say Serena.

What about Serena? Chris, hold on a second. Chris, I need you to do me a favor. Are you ready for this? I need you to go back and hit rewind on the Odyssey app, Chris.

OK. Thank you, Chris. Hickey, did I just talk to a goldfish? I think I spoke to. I think I talked to a goldfish.

The worst part was he heard the discussion on the phone when I was talking to him in the commercial break. Tolton, the parameters, 21st century, three different times. He's heard the after you said it, the parameters for this list. I guess that is goldfish syndrome after all.

He's a goldfish. Or I forgot. What's that? What's that movie? Maybe, you know, you've seen Fonda Nemo, right?

Yes, I have. OK. Dory. Yeah.

No, I wasn't going to call him the fish. Weren't they? Weren't they? Dory, there were no goldfish in Fonda Nemo. They were too sophisticated. No, I think there were.

I don't know. Those are those some fancy fish. Yeah.

Dora is a nice blue one. Yeah. Not a clown.

Clownfish was Nemo. Yes. Yes, sir. I don't know. I don't know what Dory was.

Anyway. What's what's that lady's name? What lady? Ellen. Ellen. Ellen did Dory.

Wasn't there a scene? Yeah. Yeah. I'm sorry. I had to call her by her name. Last time I didn't do that, I got in trouble.

Not Ellen, but somebody else. Remember when the birds were just standing around? And they were going, mine, mine, mine, mine, mine. Remember that? Yes. That's what that guy reminded me of. Just repeating the same thing over and over, going in circles.

Mine, mine, mine, mine, mine. Yeah, just nothing. What about this? What about that? What about Wayne Gretzky?

Oh, yeah. Yeah, Wayne. Wayne Gretzky, one of the greatest hockey players of the 21st century. Babe Ruth. Babe Ruth and Cy Young. Ty Cobb? 4,000 hits? Yeah.

Yeah. Let's let's let's go all the way back. Moses. I heard he was good with the stick. Moses, Moses. Listen, if Moses had a batting average, he would have bat 1000. The initiator of the 40-40 club. I know. All right. 40 days and 40 nights.

Moses knew how to get the job done. It's the J.R. Sportbree show here with you on the Infinity Sports Network. When we come back, we're gonna talk about sports. Don't move.
