What a busy show we've had. Thank you to our guest, Toulouse Smith, formerly of Mississippi State. He just signed a free agent contract with the Detroit Pistons. He's going to be heading out to Vegas for Summer League.

What a great conversation that was. Go check him out. I wish him nothing but the best. He's 6 foot 11, 7 feet tall, going to block all the shots and shoot all the shots. Bronny James introduced as the Los Angeles Laker.

Bronny James needs a little bit of media training. And Donovan Mitchell, he gets a new, well, a contract extension. Donovan Mitchell's going to be sticking around in Cleveland. Three years, $150 million just to be mediocre.

I'm sorry, what do you want me to say? We've talked about a lot as well. In slow-mo, Kyle Anderson is now a member of the Golden State Warriors. And so in one day, all the Golden State Warrior fans, they lose Klay Thompson, goes to Dallas. Because quite frankly, Golden State couldn't pay him and he's injured.

Injury history. And then Kyle Anderson comes in. Whoopty freakin' do. Nobody having no celebration for that, right? I wonder if Steph Curry welcomed him to the team. I wonder if Draymond welcomed him to the team.

Anyway, they got some work to do. We heard from Tom Brady earlier in the show. He's like, man, I wish when I played I had more fun. I didn't have enough fun. Blame Belichick.

You can suck the life out of anything. Now Belichick is having all the fun in the world with this 23-year-old. Yeah, so we've had a busy show. Tyreek Hill wants to get paid. Everybody wants to get paid.

Why not? And thank you to our producer holding it down in New York, Alex Arzam. I'm here in Atlanta, Georgia.

Just minding my business. And a couple of miles away from me right now. Angel Reese is continuing to make history for the Chicago Sky. The game is almost done.

Chicago is leading Atlanta 82-77. Angel Reese has 12 points and 18 rebounds in two blocks. Angel Reese has already broken the record for double doubles. Consecutive double doubles in WNBA history.

Eleven consecutive double doubles. I didn't know people weren't rebounding like that, but damn. She's a rookie. Angel Reese is leading the WNBA in rebounds.

As a rookie. Thirteen and a half points, eleven rebounds, like she going to work out there. Yeah, I know. Look, people are spending more money to see Kaitlyn Clark like she's a bigger ticket. But Angel Reese is having a major, major impact on the game.

There's no disputing that, OK? 855-212-4227. That's 855-212-4227. You know what? I'm going to get to the phone lines. And we'll hear from Bronny James and also, we got a lot to do. But I want to talk about this Kaitlyn Clark-Angel Reese thing. And not because there's a beef.

Like, one of these two has to be Rookie of the Year, right? Right? We'll get into that in a little bit. 855-212-4227. Lee is calling from Cincinnati, Ohio. You're on the JR Support Reshore. Go ahead, Lee.

Hey, thanks for taking my call, JR. And I got to step back for a minute. Because what you're asking about soccer, you know, I mean, the thing about soccer is, you know, well, it is the most widely played sport in the whole entire world. The problem with it in the United States is kind of twofold, in my opinion, because we used to be good at it. We're not so more worldwide.

Hopefully, we're building back. But let's face it, I mean, three big sports in the United States are football, basketball, and baseball. Everybody knows that, but they're all because they were invented by Americans, you know, Naismith, Camp, and Doubleday. The other guy's Canadian. Relax on Dr. James Naismith.

He tried to fight you. Oh, I'm sorry. Well, he's close enough. Hold on, Lee. Hold on a second.

He can chuckle about it. Listen, people. Lee is still here.

He's just on hold momentarily. I want to just say I love all my Canadian people. You will never hear me say that he's close enough to be an American. It's okay, Lee. Go ahead. Okay. He's North American, okay?

Yes. I apologize. You're right. James Naismith was one of the six Canadian.

I apologize for that misstep, and I hope I did not offend anybody. But still, those are the three biggest sports in the United States. The thing that I think hurts soccer the most, believe it or not, and this is going to sound really strange, is the fact there's no Cold War going on anymore. Remember back when it was democracy against communism, the U.S. against U.S.S.R., all these big sports, gymnastics.

I mean, everybody remembers who Bart Conner and Mitch Gaylord were, but you can't tell me who the main guys are in the United States. Well, let's not hope for a war to inspire people playing soccer in the United States of America. It seems like we've got enough issues going on in the world.

I try to stay away from that as much as I can. No, you're absolutely right, and I do too, but my point is I'm glad that soccer is back up on the upswing because it is by far the widest and most often played sport in the entire world. And as the United States, you know, if we want to consider ourselves best, we've got to be good at the biggest sport in the world also, not just the ones that we came up with or that we think we are the best at.

You're echoing some of the same points I made last hour. We have our own sports, and there's a lack of development when it comes down to soccer slash football. And we people have young people, people playing sports have so many other options, especially options that they look at that can generate revenue.

Hey, how about this? Yesterday, a guy got a contract in the NBA. He's making three hundred and fourteen million dollars.

He's six foot eight and he is playing basketball. There is nobody running around that I know unless you're punching people in the face in the United States of America. There is no athlete I know at five eight, five nine that is clocking millions of dollars, you know, running around on a pitch. You've got to be punching people in the face.

You've got to be Floyd Mayweather Jr. to really go out and generate money. I mean, so we don't develop football players and we got people here that that makes so much more money if you want to go pro in, I don't know, the NFL or I mean, baseball takes too damn long in a lot of developmental spaces. So, yeah, we got room to catch up.

I'm not going to hold my breath on it yet. Lee, quickly. All right.

Quickly. You ever heard a guy named Diego Marindola? No, it's Maradona and God rest his soul. He's no longer here. He's no longer here. What about what? Hold on. Hold on.

Thank you. What about the man that you want to tell me about? And you didn't even know the correct pronunciation of his name.

Go ahead. Because I'm sorry, because I've always seen a spell of never know. But I do know that he was one of the five best soccer players of all time. Yeah, he was. You know, along with Pele and Ronaldo and with... What about him? But people have never heard of him.

That's what that's what said. People in the United States have never heard of him, but worldwide, everybody knows him for years. Well, thank you. Thank you, Lee, for calling from Cincinnati. Yes, the man played for Argentina.

Unfortunately, he's no longer here right now. He had an unfortunate drug habit. Like, I feel like I could have been talking in circles. Alex, do you know what Lee's ultimate point was? I don't. When he called, he said that U.S. soccer is going downhill. And I don't know if he meant in terms of the quality of the team or the players or if he just meant in terms of popularity in the U.S. Because in terms of popularity, yes, it is growing, but it's still it will never overtake those three sports that he said. Oh, no, it won't. It won't.

No. People have too many options here. Why he decided to bring up Diego Maradona, I have no idea. He's like, oh, people never heard it. Yeah, because people don't follow the sport the same type of way here in the States. They definitely don't.

I think we think we know that. 855-212-4227. That's 855-212-4227. Travis is here from Iowa. You're on the JR sport. What's up, Travis? Hey, JR.

Thanks for taking my call as always. I know I've been listening to SEC radio. Hold on a sec, Travis. SEC radio? You were listening to SEC radio? Yes, sir. Why weren't you here on the Infinity Sports Network? What's your problem? Oh, this is earlier today, sir. This is earlier today. Listen 24-7.

Don't go to sleep. No, they were talking about, you know, how the Texas Longhorn with the horns down little, you know, gesture. The commissioner today kind of shimmied around the question and was more worried about, you know, walking them in Texas and Oklahoma into the SEC. And, you know, I just don't see an issue with it. I mean, it's just, you know. Well, Travis, let me now give you my opinion on horns down. You ready for this?

Go ahead. This is one of the dumbest things that I've ever heard of in my life. Like, the fact that people are offended about it. Exactly. It's a gesture. And people get so up in arms. This is the most disrespectful thing on earth.

Like, come on, man, look. I agree. I totally agree. I like Texas a lot. I like Austin a lot. I like the Longhorns a lot.

I like Sixth Street a lot. There's a lot that I like about Texas, OK? But what I don't, and maybe I need to live there, maybe I need to be born in it. If you don't want people doing the horns down, then just whoop that ass. As simple as that. Exactly.

Come on. Like, this is not the Degeneration X, you know, a symbol. This is not the middle finger.

This is a stupid hand signal that people turn upside down and we got people who are losing their minds over this. It's a sport. It's a game. If you don't want to see it, beat them.

All right? I mean, yeah, exactly. I mean, I'm a huge Texas Longhorns fan, even though I'm 80 miles from University of Iowa, which I can't see in the Hawkeyes, but that's a story. But no, I definitely agree with you. I just think it's, you know, Texas fans need to just take a little chill pill and, you know. Out of everything to complain about, man, like we can do better. Well, thank you, Travis, for calling up and allowing me to tell everybody how stupid it is for people to be up in arms about things. Thank you.

You take it easy. I also believe they don't have this. It's not in the video game. They took they don't want it in the video game. Come on now. We can't have the horns. Texas would have been mad. They've been like, take us out the video game.

You can't have the horns down. What are you doing? Disrespectful. Come on. As crass and mean and as nasty as people are nowadays. I see players are cussing at fans. Fans are cussing at players. Coaches are yelling at everybody.

JJ Riddick is I don't give a bleep at a press conference. Everybody's so crass. But let me flip some horns upside down. Oh, my God. Penalty. Oh, my God. We don't do that.

Oh, my God. Don't do that. Don't do that.

I remember saving a couple of years ago, losing his mind. Don't do that. Don't do that. Don't do that. Come on sports.

Maybe you don't do the hand signal and maybe the other team won't do it either. We all belong outside. We're drawn to nature, whether it's the recorded sounds of the ocean we doze off to or the succulents that adorn our homes. Nature makes all of our lives, well, better. It's 855-212-4227. We've been talking about a lot. NBA free agency, Team USA soccer, NFL happiness, Tom Brady wish he had more fun, Klay Thompson. In a few minutes I'm going to tell you about Angel Reese and Kaitlyn Clark.

Speaking of Team USA, we've got some WNBA All-Stars. I'm going to tell you who they are in a minute. But I told you earlier on today, LeBron James was introduced formally to the media in Los Angeles. His dad LeBron James was on hand.

He sat right there on the stage next to JJ Reddick, Rob Palenka on hand as well. And one of the first questions asked to Bronny James was about the opportunity. And I want you to listen very carefully to the words that he used and how he described it.

Because it made it sound like, well, it didn't make it sound like, he said he was given this opportunity. Listen to this from Bronny James. Yeah, everything's just been surreal. Trying to take it all in by the days. Extremely grateful for everything that JJ and Rob have given to me.

Yeah, and I've just been extremely excited to get to work. Bronny, Jim Hill, KKL9, what have been some of the preliminary conversations you've had with your father about what's expected in the NBA and what you can expect to hear and see once you start playing? Um, you know, we haven't gone too deep into that stuff yet, especially because we haven't even started Summer League yet.

But, you know, just stuff that he's been telling me my whole life, just having that work ethic and coming in and getting to work and listening to your coaches and being coachable, stuff like that, he's driven into my head my whole life. Well, JJ Reddick was sitting right next to him. And JJ Reddick was asked a question and he wanted to then take the time to reassure everybody that Bronny James wasn't given a damn thing.

Listen to this interaction. With Bronny, I want to clarify one thing you just said, which is Rob and I did not give Bronny anything. Bronny has earned this, right? Bronny talks about his hard work. Bronny has earned this through hard work. And for us, prioritizing player development, we view Bronny as like case study one because his base level of feel, athleticism, point of attack, defender, shooting, passing, there's a lot to like about his game.

And as we sort of build out our player development program holistically, he's going to have a great opportunity to become an excellent NBA player. Oh, okay. Yeah, Bronny earned this and he's LeBron James son. Like we can say both, can't we? Like what are we beating around the bush here?

Or is the last part so obvious we don't need to say it? I wish him nothing but the best. The guy he is and was a prospect, but the reason why he got drafted because he's LeBron's son. 855-212-4227. Chris is here from California. You're on the JR Sport Reshow.

Chris, what is your statement or point? Go ahead. JR, I just want to tell you first off, you have got the greatest show I've ever heard and now, you know, when I tune in to you, I just get all this information.

It's fantastic. We're getting to Bronny James. In your opinion, do you think he's going to be like a G-League two-way player or do you think he's going to be on the roster? Well, hold on one thing at a time.

Thank you for the kind words. It's been reported that Bronny James is on a guaranteed contract. It's been said by his agent, who also might as well be his uncle in Rich Paul, that he's on a guaranteed deal that they're not looking to shuffle this guy back and forth between the G-League and the Lakers. Now, how he's going to develop for a dude who's coming off of a cardiac arrest last year, really didn't play at USC, didn't have the best showing, like that's to be seen. Like he'd probably be best if you want to think about basketball-wise by playing a lot of basketball. I don't think that's going to happen with the Los Angeles Lakers. He's going to get spot duty. I don't even know if the team's practice enough right now for him to get like legit better or legit practice time. I don't see it.

Good luck to him. 8-5-5, 2-1-2, 42-27. That's 8-5-5, 2-1-2, 42-27. Ron is calling from New Orleans. Shout out to all my folks tuned in on WWL. Hey Ron, you're on the JR Sportbreeze show here on the Infinity Sports Network. Oh man, I enjoy your show so much.

I just miss the early part of your show because we don't get here until like the last two hours. But anyway, I'm calling to find out the young man that won the all-around thing at the gymnastics. I think his name is Fredrick Richards. Is he the first black to make the gymnastics team? Well Ron, I'm going to have to look that up in the break, man.

I don't know that off the top of my head. You want me to tell you, I know some of the best gymnasts here in the States over the past, I want to say 30 years. I mean, you want to talk to me about a Dominique Dawes, but gymnastics? Uh-huh. Man, I pop in on gymnastics every four years, Ron.

I got to look into that. Well, I just happened to be looking at it Saturday. There's nothing else on Ron's family this year and I was watching it and I was surprised to see this young black man. I think he's from Michigan. I think he's 20 years old and he's very good. He won the all-around competition and I just thought he was really unusual. I mean, everybody talks about Simone Biles and things like this, but I haven't heard a lot about this young man. Like I said, that was the first time I had ever seen him or heard of him. I was just wondering if he was the first male that would make the men's gymnastics team.

Ron, it's going to be the first time that I find out about it too. I'm going to look into it in the break because as you just said, man, I know Simone Biles. I don't know no other gymnast.

Maybe if I see the person by face, I'm going, oh yeah, I've seen her before. I couldn't forget being a black man. I could not tell you a male gymnast right now. Yeah, the young man, his name is Frederick Richards and he was very good, very good.

Like I said, I was just flipping the channel and I happened to sit down and watch him and he won the all-around men's competition. Okay. Yeah, I see. I'm going to check this out and I'm going to try to drop some knowledge on the other side of the break. Okay, Ron? Yeah, man, man, I'd love to listen to you. I was in Dallas and I had a hard time following you a couple of months ago and I really enjoy you, man. I've been listening to the talk show since I was a youngster and I think you're probably the best talk show host that I've ever listened to. Oh, well, thank you. High praise. Well, let me tell you something. Regardless of what city or state you're at, if you get the free Odyssey app, you can listen to the show all the time, no matter where you're at. Okay, Ron?

Okay, thank you very much, man. It's nice talking to you. All the time, Ron. One of my favorite cities on earth, New Orleans. Can you go to New Orleans tomorrow? I should. I'm not, but I should.

855-212-4227. The more you know, you learn something new. Everybody's getting warmed up, right? Gymnastics? Simone Biles? I couldn't tell you another gymnast in the United States. I mean, Gabby Douglas? I know she not making it.

It's tough, man. And speaking of people making things, congratulations. The WNBA just released its All-Star rosters and the All-Star game is going to take place Saturday, July 20th. The Olympics, we know we're gearing up towards the Olympics, are going to run from the end of July into mid-August.

It's going to take place in Paris. And so because the WNBA is going on a break for the All-Star game, the U.S. Women's National Team is going to take on the WNBA All-Stars. So basically, the people who didn't make the U.S. Women's National Team, they were voted on by the fans. Congratulations to Kaitlyn Clark and then also Angel Reese for making the All-Star team.

Good for them. I think some other familiar names you might know, Aaliyah Boston, Alicia Gray, De'arica Harvey, Brianna Jones, Jonquil Jones, Akayla McRoe, De'Wanna Broner, Arika, I can never say this last, I need to learn her name. Agumbawale. Thank you, Brandon. I appreciate it.

Yeah, I need to do better. But here's something else that's interesting. Tonight here in Atlanta, Angel Reese just finished playing a game a few minutes ago. The Chicago Sky beat The Dream 85 to 77. Angel Reese had her 11th consecutive double-double. That is a WNBA record. Okay, this is a WNBA record. All these women that have been in the WNBA balling out since 1998, no one has ever had more than 11 consecutive double-doubles. I mean, she broke the record like two games ago. Angel Reese is leading the WNBA in rebounding right now. Heading into tonight, she was averaging 11 rebounds a game.

13 points, 11 rebounds. Like I know Angel Reese, I think sometimes she gets ahead of herself with the microphone. But Angel Reese is having one of the best seasons in the WNBA right now.

And I know she said all that about, oh, people show up to games to see me too. Yeah, they do, but not to the degree of Kaitlyn Clark. But when it comes to the basketball court, Angel Reese is having an amazing season.

Fort rookie. I think Kaitlyn Clark ain't having a bad season too. 16 points, 5 assists, or excuse me, 6 assists, 5 rebounds. I know she's turning the ball over at a ridiculous rate.

I think that's part of the grunge process for her. And they're both having great seasons. I wish they were on the Olympic team, both of them. A matter of fact, I don't want to get too ahead of myself. We gotta wait for the Olympics, we gotta wait for the All-Star game, we gotta wait for the break. Unless something crazy happens, please people, we need a co-rookie of the year. Just for the hell of it. Just to have people argue and just to bring more attention and make more money, they need to give the rookie of the year award to both Kaitlyn Clark and Angel Reese.

We still got half a season to go. We need this so people's blood can boil. We need this so people can argue over it. We need this so the WNBA can get the right attention.

Come on. I know Team USA Basketball different from the WNBA. A stupid mistake not to have, I'd say, both Angel Reese and Kaitlyn Clark on the Olympic squad.

Especially an Olympic squad on the women's side that will probably decimate all of the competition. But man, if you want to get something right, give both of these women the award. The WNBA has never had co-rookie of the year.

I mean, I can think about Grant Hill and Jason Kidd, co-rookie of the year. But just for the hell of it. Maybe for my own entertainment purposes, I need it.

855-212-4227. Marco Belletti, wouldn't it be cool if they just gave the award to both of them just to start a fire? I think that's actually really good publicity for the WNBA. I've been on record saying this. As great as this whole Kaitlyn Clark stuff is, and it is, and it's shining a light and it's great. For it to truly succeed, this has got to be like the bird magic.

She needs a foe and it's Angel Reese. So the more that you can link them together to get people to pick a side. Because it sucks that that's the way we are, but that's the way we are. It's better for the league. It is.

So that would be perfect. You think they're smart? I mean, I know they don't have as much to do with Team USA.

I'm going to beat this drum until the end of the season. Because they need it. Like what you just said, it would be stupid.

Okay, fine. If one gets it over the other, then people will still complain. But there's more to beef, complain and talk about if you give it to both of them. Like that would be a stake. If you think this year is a stake in the ground for the WNBA surrounding Kaitlyn Clark and look at the explosion, you just put another stake.

You hit the hammer and dug that stake deeper if you got people beefing about the two. How could you give the award to her? She deserves the award.

No, she deserves the award. Man, this is money. If they screw this up... You know they're gonna though, right? No, Marco.

Marco, if they don't name the two... I was going to say, are they in Park Avenue? Are they leasing space in the NBA? What are they doing?

I don't know, but I find that every time we do this and every time we talk, it feels like you and I, it's obvious, and they don't do it. So I have a hard time believing that they're going to be smart enough to do this. I'm going to picket on Park Avenue in Madison near the office if they don't do this. Well, first of all, you know what I need to do? Because this is all learning, right?

WNBA is not as invested. I need to figure out who does the voting for this. That's what I need to do. And if I see that there are media who's going to vote on this, Marco, you know what I'm going to do? I'm going to invite them onto the show before the stupid awards and I'm going to con people into this. I'm going to put it. This is what we need. I'm going to manipulate the system.

Well, that's a better word. Don't say con because this is actually good for the league. No, no, no. This is not a con. This is good. This is good.

This is not something for your own personal benefit. This is good for the league. Yeah, it's good for them. It's good for the league.

Okay, it is. And they make too many, and it's not just them. I mean, Major League Baseball is probably the front runner on this.

They make way too many decisions that are not smart for the league and it makes you wonder where it's like, do you want people to know about your league? Do you want people to talk about it? Like, you want money, so how the hell do you not want the publicity? Like, they got to go hand in hand. What are you not getting?

And unfortunately, there's too many people in power. They don't get it. Co-Rookie of the Year.

Alex, Co-Rookie of the Year, you agree? I'm signing up for that, yes. Yeah. Everybody with a brain is looking for it.

This is what the world needs. Angel Reese, Kaitlyn Clark. I know it's only what month are we in?

July. Co-Rookie of the Year, sign me up. I'm going to find out who's voting. I'm going to try to talk to as many of them as possible. Congratulations on Kaitlyn and Angel making the All-Star game. They didn't make the Olympic team. Let's see what happens at the end of the year.

They should be Co-Rookie of the Year. After the end of a good fight, you deserve an ice cold reward. Medellin is the mark of a fighter.

You've earned this rich golden lager with a crisp, refreshing taste. Because you know the bigger the fighter, the better the reward. You put in the hours, the energy, the tough labor. You are a fighter. Medellin is your reward. Medellin, the mark of a fighter. Frick responsibly.

Beer imported by Crown Import, Chicago, Illinois. What a day. What a day. There's a lot that we just heard from Bronny James. He's like, oh, they gave me the opportunity. You're like, nah, bro, we didn't give you nothing. You earned it.

Stick to the company line. Donovan Mitchell ends up signing a contract extension with the Cleveland Cavaliers so they could all stay, I don't know, mediocre, average. Shout out to Tolu Smith for joining us. Man played four years at Mississippi State, signed a free agent contract with the Detroit Pistons, is on his way to Detroit, and then is on his way to Vegas and the Summer League. Talked about Tyreek Hill looking for a new contract. We talked about Klay Thompson. Damn it, Klay Thompson's dad was on NBA radio. Michael Thompson, former Laker, current broadcaster. He's like, man, I wish my son played for the Lakers. Talked about everybody loving Lad McConkie out in Los Angeles, and why wouldn't you? Man got good feet.

A good route runner, of course he is. Tom Brady says he wasn't happy, should have been happier as he played football. Talked about Aaron Rodgers going out to Egypt. NBA free agency. Tim Anderson getting cut by the Marlins.

You really got to suck to get cut by them. US men's national team losing to Uruguay. What an embarrassment. Oh, how about this? The Clippers are interested in signing Miles Bridges. That'll be good, right? I guess.

No Paul George who can bring in Miles Bridges to be a hurt guy. Anyway, 855-212-4227. I was even asked about the Olympics. And yeah, shout out to my man from New Orleans. You were right.

The gentleman making the all around is on his way to Paris. Good for him. Congratulations, I'll be paying more attention.

It's pretty cool. Oh, and then we talked about the WNBA. We did, of course. Angel Reese with another double-double WNBA record. Forget a rookie, or WNBA record, excuse me. Eleven straight games with a double-double. She is leading the WNBA in rebounding.

And we didn't even get into this. Kemba Walker is retiring. He had to go play overseas. His knees were busted.

The Warriors are adding Terry Statz, Jerry Stackhouse to their coaching staff. Jerry Stackhouse leaving college. This is a lot going on.

And it's a damn shame. I'm not going to be back with you until next week. I'll be back on Monday. Take a little time off to mind my business. What a day. What a week. I guess by the time I get back to you on Monday, maybe the Los Angeles Lakers will have added a free agent who can actually help them.

Maybe LeBron James will have come to a contract agreement. A lot can happen over the holidays, right? Anyway, you know what? That's the future. Monday's the future. Let's take a look at a few things that happened this day in sports history.

And unless you've been living underneath a rock, today is July 2nd. Let's play the funky music. Back in the days when I was young, I'm not a kid anymore.

But some days I sit and wish I was a kid again. It's time for this day in sports history. You see, back in those days, we had radio and you couldn't see anything.

And it was primitive and lousy and we liked it. On the J.R. Sport Brief Show.

I wish I was 50 years younger and I'd kick your ass. It is the J.R. Sport Brief Show here with you on the Infinity Sports Network. It's July 2nd. And if we go back to July 2nd, 1995, we had the first man from Japan make an appearance in the Major League Baseball All-Star game. Back in 1995, Hideo Nomo.

The man with that funky delivery, that man twisted his arm, his leg, he swung back. This man started for the National League in 95. One hit, three strikeouts over two innings. National League beat the American League 3-2. Let's take a listen to Hideo Nomo getting it in out there on that field.

Introduction, please. And the starting pitcher from the Los Angeles Dodgers, Hideo Nomo. Ladies and gentlemen, your 1995 National League All-Stars.

Yay! Hideo Nomo after that, by the way. This man didn't make another All-Star game appearance. He did become Rookie of the Year that year. No more All-Stars. Hideo Nomo started the All-Star game July 2nd, 1995. Let's hit the fast forward button. July 2nd, 2008. This is pretty miserable for all my people in Seattle.

My apologies ahead of time. As the Seattle SuperSonics, Clay Bennett stood in front of everybody and said, we're moving to Oklahoma City. The NBA will be in Oklahoma City next season playing their games. The transition and the move of this operation and this team begins tomorrow morning from Seattle to Oklahoma City. And it begins with the most important piece of our organization. It begins with our players. Yeah, that player, one of the key players that was gone, was that man Kevin Durant. That man played one season in Seattle and then they moved him the hell on.

Pretty sad. Also, this day in sports history, July 2nd, 2017, there was an upset in the boxing world. Jeff Horn, who you have never heard of in your life, fought a Manny Pacquiao who was trying to continue on his career. Manny Pacquiao is still trying to fight somebody. Yeah, Jeff Horn won with an upset.

Take a listen to this. All three scores go to the winner by unanimous decision. And new, oh my, the outerwear captain of the world, the fighting pride of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia, Jeff the Horn! Manny Pacquiao has been upset. Judges always see things differently.

Sometimes simple aggression, desire and will can be masked for other things. Yeah, Manny Pacquiao lost. Let's be real, Manny Pacquiao, you don't need to fight anybody. Manny Pacquiao probably doesn't even need to be in government. By the way, if you saw Jeff Horn's face after that fight, you would think that Jeff Horn lost. They were thinking about stopping that fight.

Manny Pacquiao beat the living hell out of him as they continued on. It's July 2nd. You got a couple of, well, damn, you only got about a day until July 4th. And so as I mentioned to you, this is going to be my last show for the rest of the week. I'll be back with you on Monday.

If you want to holler at me, feel free. Knock yourselves out. You can find me online. I am at JR Sport Brief everywhere on social media. Been a two day week.

We've been able to talk about free agency. I'm sure there's going to be a lot of news that takes place before I return on Monday. Hey, Alex, thank you for holding things down in New York. I appreciate you. Appreciate you, JR. It was fun. First show and hopefully some more.

Yeah, no doubt about it. So if I don't say anything crazy on the radio, I'll probably still be here. OK, listen, folks, if you missed a minute or a second of the show, you can always hit rewind on the free Odyssey app.

Pretty easy. And I want to thank everybody here, you for listening, for tuning in. I want to thank our guest tonight as well who came into the studio, Tolu Smith from Mississippi State.

He came on through, talked about signing with the Pistons, and we'll see what takes place next. I wish you nothing but the best. Please be safe. Be well, be smooth and be cool.

The JR Sport Brief Show here with you on the Infinity Sports Network is done. Don't go anywhere. Don't leave. Don't move.

Bart Winkler is coming up next. I'll see you all on Monday. Enjoy the Fourth of July. Happy America. Happy America birthday. All that good stuff. You'll take it easy. Bye bye.
