I'm coming to you live from Atlanta, Georgia. Super producer and host Ryan Hickey is holding me down for us on the boards in New York City. And thank you for listening wherever you might be.

On the road, at home, at work, leaving work, going home, wherever the hell you at. Thank you for tuning in. This show gets started at 6 p.m. Eastern, 3 Pacific, every single weekday. We had a fun show so far. Thank you to Elijah Duesable, 10 year NFL vet, current analyst for CBS Sports HQ for coming through to join us earlier in the show. Thank you to Dom Amore coming through and chatting it up with us from the Hartford Current. He came through last hour to talk about Dan Hurley saying no to the Los Angeles Lakers. It appears that he just did some due diligence on the Lakers and pretty much planned to stay at UConn anyway. UConn is scheduling a press conference for Thursday and you can very well assume that it is likely to be about the contract status of Dan Hurley.

And the status is he has a deal and he's likely to get paid a whole hell of a lot more money. As we continue on here with this show, down to my final hour before I got to shut up and leave. Of course, I'm going to tell you about a few things that happened this day in sports history.

It's June 11th. We've been doing a lot of talk about contracts. This is a very interesting one. There's a competitive...Hickey, is competitive eating, is it even a sport? It's a competition, right? You know, I like competition better than sport.

I think it's the right word there. Shoving hot dogs in your mouth is not a sport. Yeah, we can't call that a sport, but it is a competition and it is a national pastime, I guess, at this point. Yeah, there is a lot of money involved and we got a hot dog eating champ who's not going to be involved in it.

No Nathan's hot dog eating contest for him. We'll get into that. And then we've also had a very busy show. Alright, we learned about some of the injuries in the NBA Finals. Porzingis is dealing with an issue. Luka Doncic is dealing with an issue. We got news about Kaitlyn Clark and officially why she didn't make Team USA. Aaron Rodgers didn't make it to work.

Christian McCaffrey makes it onto the cover of Madden 25. You know what? Let's just do a quick rundown on a lot of the things that we learned today in the world of sports. Let's start off with Porzingis. We know the Boston Celtics have a 2-0 series lead against the Dallas Mavericks. Game 3 is tomorrow in Dallas.

This is the first game taking place at the home of the Mavericks. And Porzingis, this man came down on his leg in the fourth quarter of Sunday's game. He had to exit the game. He did all this talking about how he was going to die trying to play and he's going to be fine and okay. And then Joe Missoula spoke today. And Joe Missoula, he didn't say any of that. He said that his injury to his leg, it's a serious one.

Listen to this. He's doing anything and everything he can to be ready for the game tomorrow. It's a serious injury. And at the end of the day, our team and the medical team is not going to put him in any bad situations. And so we've taken a decision to play out of his hands because of the importance of him.

And so he's going to do everything he can to play and then we're going to leave it up to our medical team. Oh, Hickey, you want to talk about things being so secretive? How about on the NBA's own page where I read off the injury to Kristaps Porzingis? What if I told you that that story is currently gone?

Really? Yeah, the one where I read off exactly what the injury is. Was it the four words that were pretty long, pretty big to describe what Porzingis technically and medically is going through? The articulum dislocation of the tendinitis of the tendonitis in the leg of, yeah, all of that is gone. It's gone. page not found.

The page you're looking for is not available. Wow. Huh? Yeah.

You think that has something to do with the Celtics? I mean, the only thing I'll say about that is probably too little, too late. Okay, here they go. They updated it.

So it's a new page. Okay, you ready for this? I'm going to try to say it again. Huh. Well, this one is easier. The Celtics say left posterior tibialis dislocation.

Great. Porzingis suffered a torn medial reticulum, whatever it is. Dislocation of the posterior tibialis tendon in his leg. And so basically as far as I've learned, Kristaps Porzingis, he has a case of carpal tendon in his leg. That's my interpretation for what I've read and seen from doctors.

I could be wrong. What does Kristaps Porzingis have to say? A whole lot of nothing. Kristaps Porzingis basically said the same thing again. I'm going to try my best to play tomorrow in game three. Listen.

Kind of a random situation, yeah, and I felt something. And now I have to deal with it. So as we said, it's going to be day to day. And I'll see who I am tomorrow. And obviously I'm going to do everything I can to be out there tomorrow.

And we'll see. Are you optimistic? I am, of course.

I have to be. I'm optimistic. And as I said, I will do everything I can to be out there tomorrow. Look, I still think the Boston Celtics will win this series if Kristaps Porzingis doesn't play another game. And if Kristaps Porzingis does play more in this series, I'm going to assume that he's going to be limited. If there's going to be a game that the Dallas Mavericks win, it should be tomorrow. It has to be tomorrow in Dallas. The Dallas Mavericks have to finish this off the best way that they can at home.

Because, I mean, let's be real. They're going back to Boston to do what? Get eliminated?

Get cooked? I mean, are they just going to get swept at home? I mean, Kyrie Irving said as much.

He's like, I will be back. I will see you here in Boston for game five. Is that going to be the case? Kyrie Irving is going to have to do a whole lot more scoring than 16 or 12 points.

That's not going to cut it. Kyrie Irving has to show up and drop, I don't know, 25 or 30. Especially, you want to talk about injuries? Luka Doncic is dealing with injury. This man already came into the finals with a busted up knee, a busted up ankle, and Luka Doncic, we found out, he had his chest wrapped up the other day because he's dealing with a chest bruise that he needed to receive a shot for. And either way, he still ended up with 32 points, had 30 points in game one, and Luka Doncic, can the guy get some help?

Can he get some teammates that are going to put the ball in the basket? And of course, when Luka was asked how he was feeling, he sounds like those birds from that movie. Fine, fine, fine, fine. Listen to this. First, I feel good. I don't want to get any more details, but I feel good.

Okay, he didn't say fine, but the same thing. You get the point? Kristaps Vazinkas is just too big. Hickey, how many years is this guy going to last? Like, he signed a two-year deal with the Celtics. He's making, I think, 30 this year. He's making 30 the next. What is he getting? The discounts for the rest of his career?

People just hoping that he stays healthy? Oh, that's it. You're right.

It's going to be a hope project. It's sad. It's frustrating for him. I feel bad.

I do like how you categorize it. Too big? And we're not even talking about his fat. He's just literally too big. No, these big dudes in the end, Greg Oden, too big, right? Too big. Knees, couldn't deal with it. Yao Ming, 7 foot 6.

What? Well, his feet were too small. There's a big man with small feet. Nope, didn't work out for Yao Ming.

Georgie Morison. I mean, I can go on and on about these gigantic guys in the NBA. There comes a point in time where it's just like, man, you are so damn big.

Like, are your legs built for this? Kristaps Porzingis with his torn meniscuses, menisci, whatever the hell you want to call it, busted up ankles and ACLs, and now he has an injury that nobody's ever even heard of. Like, he needs to find a sport where he can sit down.

Maybe they can make a big enough race car for Kristaps, but then that'd probably be uncomfortable. So maybe he's just going to have to change light bulbs. He's made enough money.

He doesn't have to work ever again. 855-212-4227. That's 855-212-4227. Marty is calling from New York. You're on the JR Sport Reshow. What's up, Marty?

Yes, good evening, JR. Yes, I was listening to what you were saying about the NBA leaving TNT and maybe possibly going back to NBC, which, I mean, if the product is good, it doesn't matter really what network which, you know, as far as the coverage is concerned. But I'd like to reminisce about the years on NBC. I think that was a peak time for the NBA back in the 90s, you know, the Jordanians battling Nixon. The coverage was terrific. Marv Alpert, who I think was the best basketball announcer I ever heard, and he had two analysts that went back and forth, if you recall.

They were always debating each other. Bill Walton, who recently passed away. And Steve Snapp and Jones. Yes.

Exactly. Steve Snapp and Jones. They got a kick out of both of them. And Ahmad Rashad felt that he was a very knowledgeable basketball reporter, even though he came from the NFL. So, I mean, those were great years. And also with the Indiana Pacers and there were some really good rivalries back there. But I guess if the NBA did go back to NBC, I guess Mike Tirico would be the leading candidate to do the coverage.

Yeah, I assume so. And, I mean, how could the NBA in the 90s not be good on any network? I mean, yeah, it was NBC. It was so nostalgic because you had Michael Jordan winning all those championships in the 90s. When he took a break, you were able to highlight, like you said, the rivalry between the Knicks and the Pacers. We saw Hakeem Olajuwon. We saw Patrick Ewing. We saw the Jazz. I mean, the NBA on NBC, especially when you get started with that theme song, it just takes you back into... And it is a long time, but it's not that long ago. It's a good time machine. And that's when the NBA was really exploding in the 90s with Michael Jordan.

And that kind of was a launching pad for a lot of what we got now over the last 20 years. And, look, is it going to be the same? I mean, yes, God bless Bill Walton. We know he's not going to be there. Steve Snapper Jones is not going to be there. I just hope that they don't try to gimmick it up too much, whatever they come up with, you know? Yeah, I agree with that.

I agree. But this has happened in sports for many years with all the different major sports. NFL switched networks. You know, the NFC was on CBS for a long time, and then they ended up going to Fox, and it was like culture shock. I mean, we grew up watching the NFL on CBS, and all of a sudden it goes to Fox.

But this has happened throughout the course of all of us. Now you can watch the NFL on everything, including the NFL party. Yeah.

Almost 20 days a week with the NFL. That's right. Hey, Marty, thank you for calling from New York, man. Anytime. Have a good evening, JR. You as well, Marty.

Thank you so much. Yeah, that's wild. NFL.

Hickey, help me out if I'm missing anything. The NFL is on ABC, ESPN. It's on Fox, CBS, Amazon.

Don't we got a game? Netflix, right? International games on Netflix?

Netflix has two games on Christmas Day. Right. Oh my God. And that's it.

Did I say everything? No, no, no, no. Peacock? Oh my God. The exclusive Peacock game.

Keep going. Is that it? NBC? I think I said that one, yeah.

And I believe, I have to double check, I believe the international games are on NFL Network. Okay. Owned and operated. I can't keep up. Hickey, I gotta tell you. I was in the studio on, what was it, Friday, and I said, oh, I said this will be an easy way for me to put the Dodgers and the Yankees on in the background. You know, I opened up the MLB app. You know what it told me to do? Apple TV, right?

It told me to go to Apple. Oh, speaking of which, we forgot one. ESPN Plus, I think, has an exclusive game as well. Get out of the NFL?

Yes, I'm pretty sure. Maybe a London game, but I think they have one ESPN Plus only game. ESPN Plus. ESPN Plus, is that even a good product?

I feel like I have it. But every time I want to actually read or see something worth a damn, they tell me I have to sign in and sign out and all this other garbage. I have used it. Yes, the sign in, sign out process is annoying as hell. I don't know why they don't, for all the money you're paying, they don't remember your login or they don't remember that it's, oh, it's you.

You have an account. It's absurd. No, listen, everybody's getting taken for a ride. Everybody getting ran down for their money. Hey, thank you, Marty from New York for reminding us about how great the NBA was back on NBC. It's the JR Sportbreeze Show here with you on the Infinity Sports Network. Speaking of Marty from New York, you know, we talked about, well, let's get to a couple of things taking place in New York. Aaron Rodgers didn't show up to work. Hassan Riddick was just traded to the Jets.

He didn't show up to work. And then the Nathan's hot dog eating contest that also takes place in New York in Brooklyn. And it seems like we're going to have a major adjustment there. So if you like hot dogs or you like Aaron Rodgers, probably not. And we got a segment for you.

That's eight five five two one two forty two twenty seven. I told you we just had a caller from New York. Quite a little bit of news coming out of New York, or at least New Jersey, New York. Aaron Rodgers didn't show up to work today. Rob Salah had to explain his absence in the process. And then a guy that the New York Jets just traded for his son Redick. He also decided not to show up for work.

And they got two different reasons. Let's get Aaron Rodgers out the way as Coach Rob Salah had to confirm that Aaron Rodgers was not at work today. He's been very good in communication.

He's been here the entire time. It's an excuse. But but he had an event that was very important to him, which he communicated. OK, so it's an excuse, but he explained to us that he wanted to be there.

And so Aaron Rodgers is going to go ahead and take the fine. Now, Liget Doosable joined us earlier on in the show. And he played in the NFL for the New York Jets.

He's now an analyst for CBS Sports HQ. And Liget told us earlier on, man, I don't think it's a big deal. If you know anything and you've been following the Jets, Aaron Rodgers has been there the whole offseason, not just OTA. He's been there for all season workouts as well. So this would be a little bit more concerning if he had missed like some a good portion of the offseason and wasn't there for many, many camp. But him and Robert Salah talked about this at the beginning of the offseason. He let him know that there was a conflicting date with an event that was very important to him.

Now, again, because it's mandatory, you still have to get fined for it. But I don't think this is a major story now. It sucks because we have people talk about the Jets, right?

It's always about distractions, right? Is there something always going on with the Jets? And now this is something that you have to add to that because Aaron Rodgers wasn't there for the first day of many camp. OK. Well, as I went through a whole list earlier on in the show, the New York Jets have been known for a history of unfortunate events, whether it has to deal with Brett Favre or Mark Sanchez or now Aaron Rodgers. I mean, we can go on and on and on and nothing tops Mr. Joe Namath asking to kiss Susie Culver.

Yeah, go ahead and look that up on YouTube. Knock yourselves out. And how about Aaron Rodgers? We don't know why he's missing.

Of course we don't. He'll probably tell us in two weeks and then he'll complain about people complaining about him not being at work. Hassan Riddick hasn't even played a snap for the New York Jets.

The Jets traded him for a third round pick, knowing that he wanted a new contract. And lo and behold, what a shock. He's not at work. Rob Salah says, I'm worried about it. I'm not concerned. It's I understand that there's a I understand everything that's happening, but but at the same time, I know when it comes time to play football, like I said before, he's going to be ready to play football.

He's like, I'm not worried about this. Let Joe Douglas worry about this. I didn't trade for the man. I don't I don't do the contracts.

I don't do the books. I just coach who I can coach in front of me. And I hope Aaron Rodgers shows up.

I could care less about anybody else. That's it. What else is Rob Salah supposed to say at this point in time? Everything is so tied in and invested in Aaron Rodgers with the New York Jets.

If he doesn't show up and work later on this year. They're screwed. They really are. Eight five five two one two forty two twenty seven. That's eight five five two one two forty two twenty seven. Jay is calling from Indiana. You're on the JR sport ratio. Go ahead, Jay.

Yeah. JR, real quick. Just wondering if you were mentioning Jason Kidd earlier.

Dump in the water as a coach. And if you remember as a player when he did something like this. Where was he? Was he in Dallas or Phoenix?

No, I don't remember that one. He was in Dallas and they were playing against your city, New York. And they had to coach the coach in Atlanta and New York, who we in Indiana love, Mr. Woodson.

Oh, OK. Mike, Jason Kidd and Mike Woodson. So what do you fill me in? Don't leave me in suspense.

I wanted to build it up. You're really good at that. I'm taking cues from you.

No, this is why I get paid for professionally. You do what you do. Fill me in.

You know, here we are. So what he did, Mike Woodson, it back and kind of had a foot on the court and kid goes up the court and runs into him. Left shoulder on purpose. And what he got teed up. Oh, wow.

And Jason did play that. He's been doing this for years. So he's a crafty guy.

He's a wily guy. Even like you're saying with the little little comments. But this goes way back to that. That might have been the first time he tried it. And then he got away with it, which may have encouraged him down the road, thinking he could get away with the water spill and all that.

Well, you can find it really. I'm sure he's not a guy that gets real mad. If you remember from New York and stuff. But he was incensed. Yeah, I have I have met and had many conversations with Mike Woodson. So he's a he's a pretty cool dude. And so is his family. Thank you. I'm a look it up, man. Yeah. So have a good day. Thank you. I love you, too. Thank you, Jay. Hey, yes.

And I love somebody from Indiana. I did it. Oh, who was it last week that was giving you a hard time or yesterday? Was it yesterday? I don't know. Oh, Gilberto from San Diego.

That's I think. Oh, m
