Thank you so much to everybody tuned in and locked in all over all over North America. I don't know where you at. I'm just glad that you're here. You at work, you at home yet you're watching basketball. I don't know what you're doing.
Thank you for being here. Maybe you're watching hockey. Rangers and Panthers after the first period. There's no score.
What a shock. The series is tied to two. These guys are going to beat each other's brains out for seven games. Either way, I'm going to give you an update on the Dallas Mavericks of Minnesota in a minute. You can always listen to this show on the free Odyssey app. You can lock in on your local infinity sports network affiliate. If you have serious XM, it's channel one 58.
If you have a smart speaker, ask it to play the infinity sports network. We've had a busy show so far. A lot of time here. Okay.
Thank you. First of all, to Joe Vardon from the athletic for coming through and talking hoops with us. Everything from Bronny James. So what the potential finals could look like.
I think we know I'll give you a hit in a second. And then even team USA basketball, the fact that you shouldn't be surprised if Kawhi Leonard is not active. We talked about this potentially being the final night of the NBA on TNT. We discussed Jalen Waddle's new contract. Yeah, this man Jalen Waddle is now the fourth highest paid wide receiver in the entire NFL.
A matter of fact, I'll fill you in on that in a second. We got into the Raiders in their quarterback battle. How exciting between Aidan O'Connell and then also Gartner Minshew.
And then we found out today that the Chicago Bears are the latest team to be featured in HBO's Hard Knocks this upcoming summer. And that's amazing because I'd rather see Caleb Williams rather than that report we got a few weeks ago that said that the New York Giants will be highlighted for their their draft and offseason. There's nothing exciting about that.
Not a damn thing. We talked about JJ Reddick potentially being the next head coach of the Los Angeles Lakers, the Clippers locking up Tyronn Lue. And then even this guy, Mr. Jorge Lopez, who is no longer a member of the New York Mets. So I'm going to be hanging out here with you for the next hour. We had a great chat last night with Jerry Hairston Jr. We have another umpire who decided to just pack it up and leave.
I wonder why. And then, of course, at the end of the show, I'm going to share with you a couple of things that took place this day in sports history. If you want to talk to me, it's simple. The phone number here is 855-212-4227.
That's 855-212-4227. Me, I'm online. I'm on the Internet.
I am at JR Sport Brief at JR Sport Brief everywhere on social media. If you're like me, if you're waiting on the NBA Finals to start next Thursday, it's going to start next Thursday, regardless of what happens. You're just waiting for the end of the Western Conference Finals. And as I talk to you right now, this minute, this second, the Dallas Mavericks lead the Minnesota Timberwolves 31 to 18. It's about 53 seconds left here in the first quarter, and Luka Doncic is trying to handle business so he can get some rest. 20 points in the first quarter. He has 20 of the Mavericks now 33 points. Luka is shooting lights out. 8 of 11 from the field.
He is 4 of 6 from deep. Luka Doncic is trying to get this the hell over with so he can get some rest. Kyrie Irving not helping so far in the first quarter. Kyrie Irving only has 2 points. Luka has 20 of their 33 points. Rudy Gobert has 7. Karl Anthony Towns has 4. Anthony Edwards with 5. Dallas Mavericks are going to have to find some help for Luka. Otherwise, he's just going to have to get out here. He's going to drop 80?
I highly doubt it. A matter of fact, let's take a listen to Luka because prior to this game, Luka Doncic pretty much said after the loss two nights ago that yeah no duh they gotta be better. That game is on me. I just didn't give enough energy. So we gotta do better. They won one game. We just gotta focus on the next one.
Focus on the next one it is. The first quarter just concluded. 35 to 19. Luka Doncic shot 7 of 21 in that last loss. Tonight, just out of the gate already, Luka is feeling it. 8 of 11 from the field. Yeah, Luka Doncic is really really feeling it.
Get it over with! It's still early. This is the largest lead that the Mavericks have had so far in this series. Anybody has had 35 to 19 after the first quarter of the Minnesota Timberwolves.
They are at home. Let's see what they do in regards to trying to fight back. This is their elimination game.
Let's be clear. This could be it for them. And speaking of this being the last game potentially for Minnesota, I mentioned this earlier on in the show. Tonight could be it for the NBA on TNT. Because they broadcast the Western Conference Finals, they don't have rights to broadcast the NBA Finals, we may not see Ernie, Charles, and Shaq until next season.
And because Charles Barkley has been on his media tour letting everybody know how bad Turner or Warner Discovery is screwing things up, he was on Jimmy Trainor's podcast and Charles continued on letting everybody know, hey, Turner's screwing things up. Listen to this. First of all, I think they've done a job of keeping us abreast. Just say, hey guys, we're in the middle of negotiations. It's 50-50. Just say something. I mean, we have not discussed it. And not even just for me, the people who work there. The people who worked up there are the ones on pins and needles. You have no relationship at all with David Zaslav, I guess?
None. I met him twice. I met him twice.
I saw him last week at the upfronts. He said hello and that was it. So in that spot, you don't want to say to him what's going on with the NBA? Well, I thought he should have said something to us when he had us there, to be honest with you, but he didn't.
And I'm like, there was crowds around, so I didn't want to make a scene, but I thought he should have said something. Yeah, Zaslav, he's the boss. That's the dude who's running the whole shebang at Warner Brothers Discovery, which merged and pretty much purchased Turner. So there you have it. Hey, if you want Charles, Ernie and Chuck, tonight might be the last night you got it until next season. And Adam Silver did talk about the rights agreement, and he said it's not set in stone. But what is he going to say? They're done?
They're cooked? Uh, somehow, some way. I think we're still going to get this show in some capacity. It's too good for the NBA not to have. They are one of the best promoters of the game. They are. And nobody else cares about another pregame show. This is the best. The NBA would be stupid and they know it. I don't think this is done, even if Turner doesn't have the broadcast rights.
That's just my own opinion. 8-5-5-2-1-2-42-27. That's 8-5-5-2-1-2-42-27. Mikey is calling from the Boogie Down Bronx. Mikey, you're on the JR Sport Brief Show here on the Infinity Sports Network.
Hey, JR, what's up? I just want to talk about this finals match up. I mean, like, what do we think Luka is going to do in the finals when they win tonight? Because we all know they're going to win. I'm telling you, this guy Mark Cuban, he better get his stuff all figured out because they're going to beat Boston in seven games. And the MVP is going to be Kyrie Irving, proving all the haters wrong.
Okay, I appreciate every point that you made. Clarify this one for me. What does Mark Cuban need to do? He needs to get things together for what, a parade? This guy's too busy with the Shark Tank stuff. He's got to focus on NBA and his whole marketing team.
I guess it works. He's got the attention he wants. But I know they're only one game away from the finals. But you got to sometimes put this stuff aside and just pay attention to the game.
And thank you, Mikey, for calling from the Boogie Down. I think Mark Cuban is paying attention. I don't think Mark Cuban has ever been distracted by Shark Tank stuff.
I mean, I guess if you want to say he's been distracted, he's been distracted for the past 20 years. Mark Cuban runs this team like his baby because it is. Mark Cuban has sold a majority stake in the Dallas Mavericks and still runs this team like it's his baby. Mark Cuban is not looking at looking at this squad as just some some hobby.
This is his baby. He's won a championship with some Dirk Nowitzki guy. You may have heard of him while doing Shark Tank. Shark Tank is a television show.
He shows up. He throws money around and he leaves the Dallas Mavericks, I think, are in perfectly good hands. They're actually one of the more desirable destinations. Players want to play in Dallas because of the amenities and how well Mark Cuban just treats the guys that are there. And so, yeah, look, they might be it looks like they're on their way to a finals right now. Dallas leads 42-21. Anthony Edwards is sitting on the bench, kind of looking around with his mouth open.
Karl Anthony Towns is talking behind a towel. And you would expect right? You expect Minnesota to eventually fight back? Or is, I don't know, Dallas going to keep their foot on their necks?
You never know with these type of things. This game, if I were a Dallas Mavericks fan, I'd feel more comfortable about this game by the time we got into like late in the third quarter. There's still plenty of time. This team shoots so many threes, things could turn around very quickly.
We have our producer Jack Stern holding it down for us in New York tonight. Jack, no surprises here so far, right? This isn't anything out of the ordinary. I'm not going to close the book on Minnesota going on a run, but it looks like they're going to get their asses whooped. Yeah, no, this is exactly to the point that I made earlier, JR, right? I said that the Mavericks stormed back with a vengeance in Game 4 because they didn't want to get swept and obviously, you know, Dallas let their guard down a little bit.
That was kind of to be expected, but no, this is an evening out of the course. We all knew that Minnesota was going to come out strong tonight because they were angry, or Dallas rather, and you know, this is exactly what we expected. Now, I do stand by my earlier statement that whoever wins this, and it is looking like Dallas is going to advance, is going to get their you-know-what whooped by the Boston Celtics, but I guess that's beside the point right now. I'm really excited to see Jason Kidd coaching in his first NBA Finals.
Obviously, never cracked through and won one with the New Jersey Nets. I know we obviously enjoyed that era as native New Yorkers when he was doing his thing with Richard Jefferson and Vince Carter, but round two, it feels kind of like deja vu. They're facing a really good team in the Eastern Conference, although now he is in the West, and I guess let's just wait and see what happens. I know that's getting ahead a little bit, but I'm really excited for this potential matchup.
Yeah, one step at a time. I mean, there are a lot of great storylines here. The biggest storyline that is likely to get played out is Kyrie Irving and Kyrie Irving going back to Boston and Luca and then whether or not the Celtics can win a title in championship. I mean, those would be the biggest storylines, but let's see if Minnesota can go on a run. I assume at some point they may go on an eight-point run, a 10-point run, knock around a couple of threes, or maybe not.
You know, I think we've seen a lot of these stories before. A team has their back up against the wall and they fight back one game and they lay an egg the next. Dallas has certainly come to play and try to finish this out, and they could thank that Luca Doncic guy who already has 20 points here in the first half. Kyrie Irving catching up with eight, Anthony Edwards so far with five points, Karl-Anthony Towns with four.
They're going to need a whole lot more offense and they're going to need a whole lot more of that patented defense if they want to advance and continue to keep their season alive. There's another umpire who decided to quit this week and then we talked about this earlier in the show. He's a New York Mets player.
He kinda sorta, well yeah, he quit on the team and then they quit on him. I'll fill you in on it all on the other side of the break. Yes, of course, we'll give you an update on everything going on in the world of sports.

Luka Doncic leading the way for Dallas with 22 points so far here in the first half. Now, yesterday at this moment, we had an excellent conversation with Jerry Harris. Jerry Hairston Jr. 16 year Major League Baseball career won a World Series Championship with the New York Yankees. His grandfather played in the Negro Leagues and Jerry Hairston Jr. made some excellent points as to why the Negro League players should be recognized and it's not just his opinion. He kind of earmarked plenty of players from Ted Williams pretty much at the start who said that the Negro League Baseball players were some of the best that he saw and participated in or played against when they barnstormed and that their records should be pretty much recognized and so an excellent conversation with Jerry Hairston Jr. at this time yesterday.
If you missed it you can go ahead and hit rewind on the free Odyssey app. Now one additional point that Jerry Hairston Jr. brought up yesterday or I asked him about were umpires in Major League Baseball. We all heard and learned about the retirement wink wink nod nod of Angel Hernandez earlier this week. This is an umpire that most people know because he sucked. You shouldn't know who an official is right? You shouldn't know who a referee is and if you do it's probably because they're garbage and they're getting called out for it. Those are the facts. Now having said that we had another umpire decide to walk away.
His name Paul Emel. You may be less familiar with him because he's not an umpire that sucked and he umped for about 25 years. Okay one thing to keep in mind I don't know if Major League Baseball is trying to get rid of some of the older umps. I wouldn't blame them but the fact is Major League Baseball for years now has been testing out new technologies surrounding the strike zone. Let's use cameras to figure out whether a ball is a strike. Is it in the zone? Is it out of the zone? And let's just keep it moving. Now me I could kill us if there's a human being back there.
I mean we could see a light in the whole stadium on the floor on the tv screen. It can go we we can have a robot from behind the net shout ball or strike. We don't need somebody there.
What are you going to do? Maybe if somebody is running around the bases that's all you need a home plate umpire for. So yeah keep the umpire but let a computer call the balls and strikes.
Let the umpire convey it. I asked Jerry Hairston Jr. about this yesterday. He had a different opinion. He wants to see humans. He wants to see human umps making the calls.
Listen to what he told me. Jerry Hairston Jr. Okay we'll work we'll work on getting the Jerry Hairston Jr. clip to you as we we chatted it up with him yesterday. We'll we'll get that going.
That that should be clip number 13. Obviously they went on the road to Cincinnati got swept but I love the way they got they bounced back. They went and swept the New York max in New York. They're starting to swing the bats again. The pitching has been pretty good.
I would say it's been better than I expected as far as you know having that continuity. We have rookie and Yamamoto. We have a new guy Tyler Glass now having that rapport with our catchers. They've really done a great job of hitting the ground running.
James Paxton has done an incredible job as well. So you know the doctors are playing really good baseball. But the main thing and they understand this. They want to be playing their best baseball come September and October. That's what they want to do. So you're going to have lulls here and there throughout the course of the season.
They have a great team if they stay healthy and if they continue to get better as far as cohesively getting used to playing with each other. Okay that was Jerry Hairston Jr. on on the Dodgers. My fault for that. Jerry Hairston Jr.'s thought process is different from mine. Jerry Hairston Jr. wants to see human umpires continue to call the games. His point was let the umpires stay but if the umpires stink just go ahead and get them the hell up on out of here.
That's all it boils down to. Like we don't need to have umpires in major league baseball. If he doesn't know what a ball or strike is and he's screwing the game up then just give him the boot. Now I don't think it's that easy because like major league baseball players the umpires have a union.
You can't just get a guy the hell up on out of here. He could be tenured. I mean why do you think Angel Hernandez was here this damn long?
Major league baseball basically paid him to go away. Are you going to do that for every umpire? And so I don't think it's a shock right now that in the span of about two or three days that major league baseball has told two of the longer tenured umpires to just go away.
Because what they want to do is bring in younger umpires who have less tenure who are going to be able to be controlled a little bit more as they slowly but surely start to integrate these robotic umpires or at least the cameras into the game. Is it going to take a year? Is it going to take is it going to take two seasons? We'll find out sooner than later but it's inevitable. We're going to have cameras.
We're going to have umpires utilizing technology to call balls and strikes. It's just how life goes. Technology replaces a lot of us. It's unfortunate. You got to move with it or get left behind.
It sucks. 855-212-4227. Yes 855-212-4227. Tom is calling from Harrisburg. What's up Tom? You are on the JR Sportbreeze show.
What's going on? Hey JR. I know you're in the ATL and I wanted to ask you if trading away Luca Doncic for Trey Young is the worst move in the history of Atlanta sports. Worse than getting rid of Dion. All the great players you had in Atlanta. You think Luca on the Hawks.
I don't know. Want to get your opinion on if that was the worst thing in Atlanta sports. Well Atlanta sports history and not all that long okay.
You think about the professional sports teams they pretty much their existence started in the late 60s so to go back a long time is I don't want to talk about history. Is it the worst move? People are already complaining about it here in Atlanta. I'm not prepared to say it's the worst move because the Hawks have made a series of terrible moves. Like I don't know getting rid of a guy like Travis Schlenk who came over from a championship culture with the Golden State Warriors. I would say that was a worse move than Luca Doncic here not or not being here in Atlanta. And for people who are not familiar yes Trey Young and Luca Doncic were traded for each other in the same draft and the reason that Atlanta did it was for the very next year they can go ahead and secure another first round pick.
Otherwise there would be no trade. Atlanta pretty much looked at the trade as a quote unquote two for one. Not only do we get a Trey Young but we also can go ahead and grab a first round pick the very next season. Well that first round pick it worked out to be all that well. Okay over the past several years the Hawks have added first round picks in regards to looking at guys like DeAndre Hunter didn't work out and then when you think about the biggest move that didn't work out is Travis Schlenk leaving and then a guy like Landry Fields and Kyle Korver coming on in. That you can consider to be pretty much the death now and it's been pretty pretty well documented that the Hawks front office from an ownership perspective you can call it a consortium. There isn't that that one Travis Schlenk leader even got the the team's son who's involved in learning some of the ropes when it comes to running the team.
That that doesn't do them any good. I mean you think about a disaster move they paired up Trey Young with DeJounte Murray and so hey Luca Doncic for Trey Young is it the worst move in Atlanta sports history? I ain't prepared to go that far. I would just say the Hawks worst move was getting rid of Travis Schlenk because maybe Trey Young would have a decent team around him. Does Trey Young have his flaws? Yeah he's not gonna wake up and be six foot seven.
He's not gonna put on another 50 or 60 pounds. He's not gonna play defense. He needs a better team around him because he's not six five or six seven six eight six nine excuse me like Luca Doncic. He has his limitations.
Luca is a better player. Trey Young might have a better chance if he had a better management team surrounding him as this might be bad. Okay just okay just just some hard fouls here all over the damn place. I mean if you're the Minnesota Timberwolves you might as well go out swinging. A 58 to 38 right now. The Mavericks lead the Timberwolves about two and a half minutes left in the first half.
Hey I want to ask Marco Belletti. Marco is this game is it done is it a wrap can can can we like take a week off of basketball? Yep look the T-wolves going home they had a chance. You can't let Luca start off that hot. You can't let the Mavericks get off that hot. The idea that they're going to come back from 20 something down in the second half I find that difficult to believe and I also don't think the Mavericks are going to choke it away so yeah I think we're set up for the NBA Finals. And everybody goes on that that little bit of a run are they gonna they gonna go on a 10-point run you know something right? Yeah no they will but it's the same thing look just like anything else when you've got a 22-point hole that you got to climb out of you go on a nice 10 to 2 run you feel like you've chipped into it next thing you know Luca hits back-to-back shots and you're right back where you started that's the problem with falling into a hole it doesn't mean you're not going to make a run it's just really difficult to get all the way over the top and the energy that you've got to expend just to make that little bit of a run to make possibly make it a single digit deficit where you're down eight seven something like that and then there's too much firepower the other way because Doncic will hit a couple of shots and you wind up down 14 and it deflates you even more. Yeah deflating yeah well Doncic is a man on fire right now we just had that caller ask about the trade between Luca and uh and and Trey I brought up Hunter actually met him when he got drafted no it's Cam Reddish and and he's worse than than DeAndre Hunter Cam Reddish has been on I think about four different teams right now and so if you want to know how deflated Hawks fans feel you look at the players that they got you look at where they're at right now and where they probably have to go the Hawks been running on a treadmill they stink and it's it's the management hey Marco at least at least you're good with the Knicks man congratulations uh big off season but thank you it's weird to take congratulations for getting to basically the same spot but uh the future is bright Knicks are definitely on the right path yeah that's yeah well how long has how long 25 years there you go easy and that was at the end of the path let's let's be fair when they last time they went to the conference finals was 2000 when they lost to the Pacers that team was old and getting decrepit so the the end of the run was there at 99 and 2000 the last time they were on the right path you're talking about you know mid 90s it's been a long time yeah 94 was the last time I'd say that they were legit contenders 94 95 99 was a nice fluke and then after that yeah it's it's been 25 years so it's better yeah you that's what the congratulations is for you're right it's just it's I don't know it feels like the bar has been lowered just simply because there's been so much garbage for so long it's the reality of what the Knicks can do which the reality is what they could have done for the past forever is suck which they've done they want to up and up you're right because again this team does have the right pieces in place to put it together to make that run to get to a title sometimes you look at and you go look this is a nice story but they're not that good sim kind of similar to what the Knicks were a few years ago that run that they had well I mean run they went to the playoffs and they they played the hawks and they got exposed it was nice because it was kind of like hey they're back in the playoffs but you knew it wasn't sustainable there wasn't a lot of talent there they could be the they could be the hawks right now which is a disaster or they could be the Mets which I found absolutely hilarious over the past 24 hours so they're not none of those teams so they're okay yes but again bar lowered yes well if you're the New York Mets that I think you can jump over that bar right now that's that's how long you'll walk you could walk over the bar for the New York Mets we're going to give you an update on that disaster in a few minutes the jr sport re-show here with you on the infinity sports network eight five five two one two forty two twenty seven yes eight five five two one two forty two and twenty seven western conference finals game five they're at halftime the Dallas Mavericks lead damn that's 69 to 40 Luca Doncic has 25 points already at halftime Kyrie Irving has 19 points at halftime Anthony Edwards 12 Carl Anthony towns 12 they're gonna have to make up almost a damn 30-point deficit if they want their season to continue for my people out there who've seen the movie taken Liam Neeson good luck eight five five two one two forty two twenty seven before I share with you a couple of things that took place this day in sports history before I remind you about the stupidity of Jorge Lopez let's talk to Tony in Washington hey Tony you're on the jr sport re-show going ahead yeah jr I made that Trey Young trade in two seconds flat anybody that thought that Luca Doncic would be what he is today aligned in himself they didn't even know who this guy was it wasn't like wenden yama or something and Atlanta didn't get a bum back in return they got an all-star what they did with the second well Tony here's here's the thing Tony it's not it's not you or some fan sitting around uh you know making the draft you might have watched that and remember Trey Young in college and said oh my god this is an easy trade to make but the Dallas Mavericks knew very well who Luca Doncic was Luca Doncic on the international basketball scene was not someone who was a scrub there's a reason why he was coveted by a team like the Dallas Mavericks because as a child as a teenager as someone who was 17 and 18 years old he was already a EuroLeague MVP he played out in Spain this man was an MVP of the EuroLeague and won a championship for a team with grown men that I'll tell you this much if we were to swap them out and you put Trey Young in Europe at the same age he wouldn't be able to physically survive so when Benyama is a once-in-a-lifetime dude because Victor when Benyama is seven foot four uh dare I say I think safely over the next I don't know 10 years or so hell we might get plenty of matchups between Luca Doncic and a Victor when Benyama but when it comes down to their talents yes Victor when Benyama has a unique skill set given his size Luca Doncic is a problem a very big one this is not Nikola Jokic coming over as an overweight dude who may work out because he has good skill Luca Doncic for people who watch basketball for scouts it ain't no surprises about what he's doing right now Tony okay okay I just talked I didn't make the trade my god what they did with the second first round pick that well that's not their fault that's why it is it is their fault I mean they selected Cam Reddish I mean PJ I'm talking about it isn't Trey Young's fault you know of course it's not it's not his fault and he can only thank you Tony for calling for Washington he can only be the player that he is it's the organization that has screwed up a lot the Atlanta Hawks were a whole hell of a lot better when they at least had kind of a pecking order in regards to who was going to score did they need somebody else to help out Trey Young yeah absolutely it shouldn't have been John Collins but having a Kevin Herter there certainly helped adding another point guard a bad idea bad idea and and you know I mentioned this last night and I need to mention it again because it was so hilarious and we talked about it earlier in the show another bad idea is bad mouthing your team yourself and your bosses and York Mets the Mets lost to the Dodgers Jorge Lopez stood in front of his locker and told everybody I'm the I'm the worst team or I'm on the worst team in major league baseball today he said the media destroyed him but the part that that that really got me is when he said yeah well the Mets can keep me or they can get rid of me well we learned that the New York Mets decided to go ahead and cut him like why are you going to offer that up to your employer and Jorge Lopez not the the smartest guy in the world the New York Mets general manager or excuse me their manager Carlos Mendoza he spoke to the media earlier today and he pretty much said well we decided to cut him designate him for assignment because we got standards here we're the New York Mets we have standards here and I told you guys yesterday that behaviors like that we were going to tolerate that so that's what you know we made the decision we address it and you know now we got the diamond back sitting down who would have known that the New York Mets had standards this this is news to me the new ownership for the New York Mets I know the new owner got a lot of money but standards I guess even the Mets have standards Mets are taking on the Arizona Diamondbacks right now god bless them they're actually winning trying to win trying to hold on they lead the Diamondbacks three runs to two it's the top of the ninth New York Mets can hopefully close it out we'll see what happens there speaking of closing things out before we close out it's time to do this go back back back back back back back back in time for what took place this day in sports history let's hear it I love back in the day with Berman all right I love the music but how about I just tell you this day in sports history what the hell is today it's may 30th it's the year 2024 and I gotta go back not that far maybe for some but probably not for most we're gonna go back to the year 2011 because in 2011 the Ohio State University had their head coach Jim Trussell resign do you need a refresher do you need a reminder as to why he quit well let's just take a listen to this I'm Tanya O'Rourke and on this Memorial Day 2011 Ohio State football fans you have a new head coach a developing story Jim Tressell has resigned Tressell made that announcement today after meeting with university officials there's been plenty of controversy lately swirling around Tressell for nine months he denied knowing that his players sold memorabilia to a tattoo parlor only when confronted with emails proving he lied did Tressell admit that indeed he knew for that offense Tressell was fined $250,000 and suspended for two gains yet he maintained the support of Ohio State's administration apparently until today it was Jim Tressell who led the Buckeyes to the team's first national title in 34 years bringing that team back to national prominence yeah you think about that tattoos and other impermissible benefits tattoos and other benefits got this man the boot how about that nowadays the NFL well not the NFL college might as well be the NFL it's the wild wild west Reggie Bush has his Heisman back trust decided to hand it back to him and Jim Tressell well he had to quit because players got free tattoos amongst other things okay what a way to go at least Ohio State picked up another championship they can go out there and thank well not not Luke fickle they can thank Urban Meyer who happened to be a full-on disaster himself maybe not so much at Ohio State but definitely down and up in Jacksonville sorry to all the feet people in Jacksonville who had to deal with him in that regard pretty bad pretty sad anyway listen folks in a few seconds I gotta shut the hell up and I gotta leave the Dallas Mavericks are leading the Timberwolves 69 to 40 at halftime the Dallas Mavericks are trying to pull this series to a conclusion to a close and advance to the NBA Finals Luka Doncic with 25 points at the half Kyrie Irving with 19 Carl Anthony Towns and Anthony Edwards gonna have to do a whole hell of a lot more they both have 12 points apiece and for all my folks keeping up with the Eastern Conference Finals in the NHL well these two teams are gonna be fighting each other I feel like for the next forever the New York Rangers and the Florida Panthers are tied at one goal apiece three minutes to go here in the second period we need to get some of this over with this is the best time of the year championship time you get to the Super Bowl in the early part you get to June the Stanley Cup Finals and then you also have the NBA Finals as
