There's joy in every journey. It is the JR Sportbrief show here on the Infinity Sports Network. I'm coming to you live from Atlanta, Georgia.

Super producer and host Ryan Hickey is in New York City. Thank you for tuning in. You can always listen on the free Odyssey app, your local Infinity Sports Network affiliate, Sirius XM Channel 158. And if you got a smart speaker, knock yourself out. Ask it to play the Infinity Sports Network any time of the day.

Me, I get started at 6 p.m. Eastern, 3 Pacific every single weekday. And it's a big time in the NBA. We're down to the Final Four. A matter of fact, in an hour from now, we got game two of the Eastern Conference Finals between the Celtics and the Pacers. We've already talked about the Dallas Mavericks and the Wolves. We got a coach who got fired.

We have a legend whose son is going to be in the draft. There's a lot going on. So to discuss it right now at the top of the hour, we're going to chat with someone else who you can listen to right here on the Infinity Sports Network.

You can catch him as an insider on CBS Sports HQ, an insider for CBS Sports Prairie when it comes to the game of basketball. He's righter than you. It's Bill Ryder. Bill, how you doing, man? JR, I'm doing better now, man. How are you? Thanks for having me on. Not a problem. I appreciate you, man. How are you enjoying the NBA playoffs so far?

What's standing out to you? Do you want the real answer or the sort of answer I'm supposed to give if my bosses are listening? I'll give you both. Nah, screw the bosses. Nah, screw the bosses.

Give me the real one. Yeah, yeah. I mean, bro, I'm ready for you. I'm the biggest fan of every team that wins a first game because I'm all about not having to do this much work.

If I real talk, I'm lazy. But I will say this has been such a riveting postseason. I'm starting to change my ways.

I desperately wanted the Pacers to win Game 1 just so we could have a great series. And I am loving almost every moment of almost every one of these playoff games that we've had. I think it's been a really fun month.

It has. We've got some new faces. We have emerging faces. It's even fun to think about having Luka Doncic on Anthony Edwards in the finals. Bill Ryder is here with us.

Let's talk about the game from last night before we move to the series that's going to get started, Game 2, in about an hour. Anthony Edwards is pretty honest about being tired. Nobody's too surprised at an emotional letdown coming off of a Game 7. They're going to punch and fight back, right?

I think they are. I love this guy because he is so straight and so candid. I think it's part of his charisma. But it was interesting, JR, because he looked tired. He looked exhausted even at the start of the game. And I hope it's just an emotional letdown of winning that series against Denver and winning a couple in a row and going into Denver and getting it done. Because they're nothing without him.

He's going to have to be the guy. Tired. Not tired. Whatever's going on. Emotionally exhausted. Physically banged up.

And I don't want to sound callous. He's going to have to get through it if there's any chance that he will get through Dallas in this series. Without a shadow of a doubt, Bill Ryder is here with us. You can listen to him here on the Infinity Sports Network. 10 a.m. Eastern. 7 a.m. Pacific. The game that's going to get started in about an hour. The Celtics are so up and down. And we had Gary Washburn on this week as well. And I asked him specifically about who's leading this team. Marcus Smart is gone. Joe Mazzulla is like talking to a plank of wood.

Like when it comes to the going it gets tough, who's going to get to talking? Yeah, look I'd love to know what Gary thinks because he's obviously covered that Celtics team forever and he's in it. And he's such a talented dude. I think we've seen that for the Celtics, the leader at least at the end of games has to be Jalen Brown.

I don't even think it's a question. I don't want to, and J.R. we can dive into this as much or as little as you want. I don't want to disparage Jason Tatum. And he had a really interesting Rorschach test game. I think in game one you could look at that game from Tatum and you could see what you want.

I think the truth is more nuanced. But he did fail to score Tatum in the final nine minutes, nine minutes in a row at the end of regulation at the start of overtime. He has been literally historically bad in clutch time. What the NBA defines as clutch time over the last three years. And I think the ability for Joe Missoula to either go to Jalen Brown in those moments like we saw in that corner three or to draw a place for Brown and Tatum is the solution.

And so I think the answer to your question is the guy for me is Jalen Brown. I know that he can't dribble to his left and people want to talk about that. He's become a remarkable two-way defender. He was the difference maker, I thought, not just for the Celtics but in that game and maybe the series as a result. He has been, for lack of a better term, incredibly clutch over the course of this postseason. And the Celtics team, if you really get into the numbers, and I could geek out, but if your listeners will believe me, I hope I won't have to bore them with the details. As great as they've been historically net rating-wise, third best of all time, they've been bad in games that are three points or closer, five minutes or less over the course of this year.

Horrifically bad this year. Jalen Brown has been the antidote the few times that things have gone well. So I think he's the guy.

I think he's the voice. I think he is at least JR at the end of games. Whenever, if ever, there is real pressure and teams really challenge these guys, and maybe it's not to the finals, I think it's Brown that's got to be the man. The CBS Sports NBA Inside of Bill Ryder is here with us. Who do you see in the finals, man? We only got a month left.

What do you see as the end result? Man, all right, so it's going to be Boston, right? It's the most boring answer on the face of the earth, but they're too good. I think the Pacers had a chance if they'd won that game. I'm going to go Timberwolves in seven.

I'm not going to be a captive of the moment. That's what was my initial prediction. Ant is going to have to be better. If Luka plays like that, then they're in deep trouble, but that T-Wolves defense is so extraordinary. Best in the NBA. Dude, I think just the ability to go into Denver, and you brought this up, maybe there's an emotional letdown. There probably was, but to beat Denver, to win two in a row, and then lose three in a row, and then somehow halve the fortitude to win on your home court, then go to Denver in the altitude. There's a toughness and a grit in that Minnesota team. I think they're deeper.

I think they're better, and I think they're going to win that series. Wow. Hey, it makes for some good viewing. Bill Ryder here with us, the Infinity Sports Network. Hey, Ryder than you meets the JR Sportbrief.

How about that, Bill? It's a crossover. I love it.

It's good stuff. Listen, man, speaking of crossovers, let's get away from the teams that are actively participating. Earlier today, we learned that J.B. Bickerstaff has been given the boot. He's gone. Is this something that Donovan Mitchell wanted? If he wanted to stay and wanted to keep him, he'd still be there, right?

Yeah, you nailed it. Look, I've talked to some folks in the NBA. I've talked to some folks who are very familiar with what's going on in Cleveland, and certainly the Cavaliers.

There's a lot of things. The Cavaliers front office believe, yes, that this is advantageous to try to keep Donovan Mitchell. They think, and I think it's Shoms. Maybe it's Woah.

It's hard to keep track. Had reported that there's a belief in Cleveland that they can keep Donovan Mitchell. They can get him to sign an extension, not force his way out in the summer.

The belief, even a month ago, J.R., was barring a miracle in the playoffs, which did not occur. Donovan was gone. He's going to L.A. He's going to the Knicks. He's going somewhere. Their confidence has increased, and moving on from Bickerstaff is part of that.

I'll say this, too, though, because it can be many things at once. I like Kobe Altman. He's the GM. He's an impressive guy, but there was a leak that came out this week that Dan Gilbert, who's the owner and who's not the greatest owner in the faith. He's not going to win owner of the year awards, let's put it that way, that he wants to get more involved, and he wants to get more involved in the front office. That is an owner who's tough to manage, who's difficult to navigate if you're managing up, and it's clear talking to people there and just reading the tea leaves. He's not happy, fair or not fair, with how things went this year, and so I think Kobe Altman moving on from Bickerstaff is also a way to shift the blame. I think it's unfair.

I think Bickerstaff did an amazing job. I don't think you can expect Cleveland to compete against Boston when there's no Jared Allen and Donovan Mitchell misses games at the end of that series, but life isn't fair. So yeah, I think it's about Donovan Mitchell, but I also think it's about that GM who I happen to like protecting himself and finding somebody to blame.

Ouch. As long as Dan Gilbert doesn't write any more letters in crayon, I think we'll be okay. Bill Ryder is here with us. Ryder than you.

You can listen to him here on the Infinity Sports Network in the mornings. We know another coaching vacancy belongs to the Los Angeles Lakers. It's been said that this is almost, almost, signed, sealed, and delivered with J.J. Redick.

Is that accurate as far as you know? Things change really quickly in LeBron's world, but yes, having talked to people in the Lakers organization, my understanding, what I've been told, is that it's not a done deal, maybe it could go a different direction, but everybody believes that it's probably going to be J.J., and it's probably going to be J.J. because that's what LeBron wants, whatever LeBron or Rich Paul or Clutch Sports or Leakin' Deschamps, that this is what LeBron wants, and sort of like, maybe to a degree, less risk of it not happening, but sort of like with what we just talked about J.R. in Cleveland, L.A. thinks LeBron's going to stay, but you just never know with LeBron, and they believe it increases the odds, so stick around. It is the guy that he wants.

He doesn't have to say it to say it is how I understand it. So I think it will be Redick, but you know, like, we'll see. LeBron can be unpredictable, and the Lakers I'm told really want to go through a process in case they change their minds or they get, you know, wind of the notion that maybe LeBron's not as set on staying in L.A. as most of us think. Well, Bill, you think LeBron is going to stay, right? All things considered, he's going to stick around? He's not going to move. So, okay, here's what I think. All right, so yes, I think he's going to stay, and if I had to bet an uncomfortable amount of money, J.R., that I would maybe tell you about but would maybe not tell my wife about, I had to do it, I would bet LeBron's going to be later. Okay, Dan Campbell.

Right? I would. I mean, I would, but LeBron wasn't supposed to go to Miami, and he did, and I covered that team, and when he went to, when he left Miami to Cleveland, I was doing TV, and I got mocked, I'm going to name drop here, by Donovan McNabb and Andy Roddick and all these guys in a green room because I just thought maybe he'd go to Cleveland. People forgot, but that was not expected, and when he left Cleveland that second time, L.A. wasn't the favorite, so LeBron keeps his own counsel, LeBron is not afraid to tell the Miami Heat and Pat Riley, I want Shabazz Napier, bring him in, even though they don't want him, and then they bring him in, and he just deuces, I'm out of here.

I think he'll be in L.A., but J.R., he has surprised me and everybody else three times now, so I'm not as certain as everybody else. Okay, Bill Ryder, you're here with us, and the J.R. Sportbreeze Show, the Infinity Sports Network, as we start to wrap things up, I can't mention LeBron and not talk about his son. What the hell is the latest with him? You hear positive, you hear negative, he interviews good, he sucks when he plays, he's good on five on five, he's too small, what are you hearing? Yeah, both, I was at the combine in Chicago last week, and I spent a lot of time, as everybody did, watching him play, I mean, talking to him in the sense, me and 50 of my closest friends shoving each other to talk to a 19-year-old in a scrum, talk to the young man. Yes, he's one of the most impressive people I've been around in terms of how he carries himself, he is an old soul, he's an impressive dude, I think he can handle, I don't say this lightly, J.R., he can handle the weight, I think, of being LeBron's son, but very few people you talk to who have actually scouted him think he's an NBA player, and I've talked to several, when they came through L.A., in fairness, when Bronny was at USC, who came through L.A., who saw him, who went to practice at USC and were caught up in games, who said, go to college for two or three years, you know, a year or two more, maybe, now he's not going to make it, he's not good enough, now here's a comp for you, right, because I don't know, and he's only going to get drafted, and he will get drafted because he's LeBron's son, and because people are trying to factor in, what is the shot that Bronny makes, it's small but maybe, with, okay, what if we get LeBron? Small but bigger.

GP2 is, I think, the comp. Now, GP2, Gary Payton's son, was undrafted like Bronny should be, they're basically the same height, they had almost the same vertical, GP2 was, I think, 38 and a half, and Bronny was 40 and a half, which is really good, they have the similar really long wingspan, 6'7 is what Bronny is, and I think GP2 is like 6'7 and a half, 6'8, GP2 was not a great shooter, especially when, in college, when guys were on him, he did okay, and sort of opened drills like Bronny just did, so that's the pattern, I think that's the comp, that's the career, and that's what Bronny talked about, defensively minded, be a glue guy, use your athleticism, the thing is, Gary Payton II got to grow into that, in some anonymity, despite the fact that he's also the son of a Hall of Famer who carries his name, Bronny won't be able to do that, so yeah, maybe there's a path forward, JR, but it's not going to be easy, and it's not going to be the one the casual fan thinks when they see he gets drafted in the NBA draft in the second round. Your final question here for Bill Ryder, CBS NBA insider, we know the draft is coming up, it'll be here before we know it, after the finals, I know it's going to be a quick turnaround, let's not rush it, what the hell do you think is going to happen with the number one? Are the Hawks going to keep it, who are they dumping, what's most likely to happen, what do you think? Yeah, it's interesting because the Hawks are lucky, right, that they jumped all the way up, but it's the worst draft that you could possibly do this, because if you talk to, and I have ten different GMs about who the best talent in the draft is, you'll get at least four, maybe five different answers. I think they're going to move on from Trae Young, it's my understanding that that's in conversation in Atlanta, that they think that maybe, look here's a real talk, I mean I've already reported this, guys in that locker room don't like Trae Young, they don't like him, they don't think he's a leader, it's toxic, and now they have the opportunity to I think have some cover and rebuild and move on from Trae Young. I think they'll move Trae, the name that I've heard, JR, is Alex Saar, another tall French dude who's not Wimby, but maybe could be really good, but nothing would surprise me because it's one of those drafts where I'm told it's better to draft third, fourth, or fifth, because all these guys are the same, and it's better to just hope the right guy falls to you and not be blamed if it doesn't work out than draft one and get it wrong.

There's a star in there, nobody knows who he is. Yeah, it's wild, wild stuff with this upcoming draft. Well, listen, Bill, I appreciate the time, I know you're a busy man, where can people follow you here on the network and elsewhere? Alright, you can follow me on Twitter because I love puns on my name, I'm not calling it X, sports writer, sports R-E-I-T-E-R, check out Beyond the Arc podcast, sometimes on CBS Sports Network at 2 o'clock Eastern, JR, I love being on the show, I'm usually in my car, like I'm a human taxi driver for my wife and kids listening to you do your thing, so pretty meta, pretty cool to be able to be on the show, I'm usually listening to, thanks for having me on, man. No problem, nice collaboration, a holiday special for everybody, writer than you meets the JR sport brief, hey, enjoy the weekend and all the best, okay, enjoy the ball.

Thanks, buddy. My man, Bill Ryder, yeah, I got a little confirmation about kind of what I already know about Trey Young here in Atlanta, I see it all the damn time with my own eyes, hickey man, he shows up in a sprinter, he kind of walks, he's real Hollywood around here, you know, real Hollywood. Very Hollywood, the Hollywood. He shows up, you know, he doesn't sign the damn thing for the fans, he does his shoot around with his ear pods in, runs off the court, doesn't give a damn about anybody, and then leaves. It's like, okay, and God bless him, Atlanta can be a trap city, not as in like trap music, it can be a trap, there are a lot of trappings, you know, you can be outside, God bless Trey Young, he is not outside, okay? I don't even think he's in the city right now, he comes, he shows up and leaves, he sticks to the job, not the most personable of people, yeah, been telling people for years, it's probably time to move off of Trey Young.

Bill Ryder says it's not a full guarantee, LeBron always capable of surprising people, Bronny's son is, yeah, he got his work cut out for him, we'll see what happens there. And thank you again to Bill Ryder for joining us, yeah, listen to Ryder than you here on the Infinity Sports Network, 10am Eastern Time, 7am Pacific. It's the J.R. Sport Brief show here on the Infinity Sports Network. Thank you to Bill Ryder for joining us in the prior break. Very enlightening. Thank you, Bill. Appreciate you.

Anyway, if you want to holler at me, you want to talk to me, too. It's eight five five two one two forty two twenty seven. It's eight five five two one two forty two twenty seven. Getting ready for the start of game two. Hold on, you got to sneeze. Say something, Nicky Ho.

Say something. Game two. Now the official ESPN timer says 50 minutes from right now. Game two. Celtics Pacers interested to see how the Celtics do. I mean, interesting bounce back right after almost winning or I guess losing game one. But 50 minutes. So we still got plenty of time. It's it's a lie.

It's that means a lot. Like you said, 50 minutes from right now would be what? Ten, eight, eight, fifteen. Oh, yeah. Well, yeah.

What is this? Forty? Yeah.

Eight, ten. Right. Yeah. In that range. So at least that I think is the official countdown.

OK. All right. The countdown to the other pregame show. They have an hour long pregame show.

I guess it's not enough. We got to add another 15 minutes, because, of course, this pre you know what? This is open season on pregame shows now, right? Because this pregame show sucks. Yeah, I think everyone has been voicing their frustration about this game show specifically for the last few weeks.

I don't need I don't even need I don't need to watch it to know that it sucks. It's Stephen A. Smith, Bob Myers, Malika Andrews, Michael Wilbon and Chris Paul dressed like he's going to a funeral. Yeah. All black is interesting.

All black, classic, all black, a white shirt, black tie. Classic. And I'm pretty sure Chris Paul is lending nothing to the conversation. I don't I don't have to listen to him know this. I know what each of these people sound like. And they're just playing regular television.

They play they're playing regular television tennis. Not a damn thing worth a damn. How do the wolves get more out of Anthony Edwards? I don't know.

Maybe he just needed a good night's sleep. That's it. How about that?

It's a simple, simple answer. Anyway, I told you before we went to break the WNBA last week told us officially. Well, we knew this next year. We got another team in the league. The Golden. Are they called the Golden State Golden State, right?

Golden State. OK. Golden State Valkyries. What's a Valkyrie? It's like a mythical warrior woman who drags your soul into the depths of hell.

Seriously, look it up. That's what they named the team. If you want to be a Valkyrie, knock yourself out.

Not me. Anyway, the next WNBA team is going to debut in 2016. At this point in twenty twenty six, the WNBA will have 14 teams. The commissioner, Kathy Engelbert, she made the announcement early this morning about the latest city to get a women's squad.

With that, I am honored to officially announce that we have awarded the city of Toronto the 14th WNBA franchise. Yeah. Yeah. OK. Nice.

Beautiful. Toronto. Apologies to Memphis and Miami. What other cities did we mention, Nikki? Anchorage, Anchorage, unfortunately lost out.

Yeah, they did. Toronto is going to love, love this WNBA squad. It's going to be one of the best cities to play it. And the owners of the team are the same people who already own and participate in Maple Leaf Sports Entertainment, what have you. So between the Jays and the Raptors and everybody in the WNBA and NBA, because the NBA owners get a vote. They all voted yes for a new team in Toronto. Except for the New York Knicks, which is the most New York Knicks thing ever, because the New York Knicks are currently in litigation against the Raptors because they feel that one of the Raptors employees, after leaving the New York Knicks, took proprietary information, notably scouting reports with him to Toronto. And so the Knicks are suing the Raptors over that. And so the New York Knicks were against this team in Toronto. Very, very Nixian thing to do.

Or should I say Dolan-ish thing to do? Anyway, congratulations to Toronto. Absolutely amazing city. And it was also reported that on occasion, hopefully not too damn often because Canada is big as hell, that they are going to be Canada's team and that they will play some games in Vancouver, which is on the west side of the country, and Montreal, which is further east on the east side of Canada. And so it's going to be fun, man.

I'm excited for the city of Toronto. Now, we don't know what the name is going to be. It's ironic that yesterday, as we told you in this day in sports history, the Raptors got their name yesterday.

What was yesterday? The 21st hickey, right? Yeah. 22nd. Yeah.

Yeah. May 22nd, 1994, we found out the Raptors were going to exist and they started the very next season, drafted Damon Stoudemire. And the reason why they got selected to be called the Raptors is because Jurassic Park was the hottest thing out. The movie with Steven Spielberg with the dinosaurs. Of course, you know, Jurassic Park. Now, what they call these women in Toronto, I have no idea. They're going to explore.

I hope that they don't continue with the dinosaur theme that is kind of 30 years old. We do not need that again. You think about the teams in Toronto, the ones that matter. Well, you got the Blue Jays. You got the Raptors. You have the Maple Leafs. Maple Leafs probably make the most sense at everybody up there. And then if you want to think about football, you got the I think the Argonauts are up there.

I don't know what the hell you call hickey. The color scheme has to be what purple and black has to be. Right. That would look pretty nice. I mean, the original Raptors logo and colors were beautiful.

So if they kind of recreate that, at least color wise, I guess that'd be pretty cool. Toronto. And you know what? It's going to rhyme, right? Has to. What about the six, the Toronto six? Wow. OK. OK, Toronto six. Not off. Not awful. Let the bar low. I mean, come on, we got Golden State there, the Valkyries, a soul snatching women. What are you going to call the team in Toronto?

Can't call them the six. Too nice. That's too Drake-ian.

Needs to be more aggressive. Wait, wait, wait. Drake. Was that the announcement? Yeah.

I mean, he's Mr. Canada. He went outside after Kendrick Lamar just killed him with a million records. He did. Oh, wow. He was seen.

Oh, wow. Good for Drake. Well, at least they got a mascot. That's good.

He shows up to everything. I don't know. They'll figure something out. Toronto. The snow. It's cold up there. Toronto.

Toronto snow. OK. I mean, yeah. I mean, if we have the storm, isn't this in Seattle the storm, right?

Seattle Storm, New York Liberty for the Statue of Liberty herself. Right. Right. So why not Toronto snow?

I'm with that. Toronto cold? No snow.

It's not like snow. That's that's cool. Congratulations to Toronto. Someone who played up there won himself a championship, even though he's from Philly. It's Kyle Lowry. He talked to the shift about a team in Toronto, a WNBA team.

He said, man, this is awesome. I think it means the world, not just for Toronto. I think for the country of Canada to support women the way they always have and to have a team here is going to be amazing.

I gotta find a reason. Somebody invite me to Texas. Could be Dallas, could be Houston, could be Austin, San Antonio, Laredo. I'm down for it. Anyway, it is the JR Sport Brief show here on the Infinity Sports Network. What a busy show. Talked about so much. Bill Rider was here this hour. Chris Fedor is coming through next hour to talk about the Cavs and the NBA.

We talked about Dan Campbell. He's like, man, there is no bust. It's only boom.

Go to the Super Bowl. That's it. J.B. Bickerstaff fired as the head coach of the Cleveland Cavaliers. In about 30 minutes, the Eastern Conference Finals is going to be underway. I just told you, Toronto has a new WNBA team. They'll get started in 2026.

They don't have a name yet. So if you want to send in a suggestion, send it to Toronto. And Toronto's feeling good today. Right.

Hickey said even Drake showed up for the team announcement. Yes. WNBA team in Toronto.

Awesome. There's a city. Actually, it's Louisville. They don't got the best reputation today.

They don't. Louisville is getting slapped around. Why? Because of Scottie Scheffler's arrest last week. Hickey, was it last? It was it was Friday morning, right? Friday.

Wow. Not even a week ago. It feels like an eternity ago.

But you're right. A week tomorrow. Yeah. About almost less than 12 hours from now. A week. 6 a.m. 6 30 a.m. Scottie Scheffler had that incident making his way into the golf course. Unfortunately, there was a fatality on the way in in the rain, dark, the mist. Scottie Scheffler said there was a misunderstanding between a police officer telling him to go or stop. He thought he said to go and he went and he got arrested. And he came back and played and he ended up in eighth place over the weekend.

OK. But the biggest story is that he was charged with like four charges, one of them being a felony because he allegedly reportedly. He dragged the police officer, the police officer's hands, arms, legs were damaged and swollen. His pants were destroyed beyond repair. I guess his pants just came off.

Pantsless officer. And so what happens now? Well.

He has a court appearance on June 3rd. And then outside of that. Oh, there's been requests to release the footage. Right. Because the police are public servants. You know, anything that happened should be in public view for everybody. Well, let's just say the police officer didn't follow instructions because his body cam was not on.

Listen to Louisville police chief Jacqueline Gwynn. Villa Rossell. How do you say that? You know, Villa Villa Villa. How do you say that?

You know, Villa Royale, Royal, Royal, Royal, Royal. Oh, that's an oh, not a C. OK. I need glasses. I think I've reached that point of life. Oh, wow.

Well, I thought I missed Miss Miss Miss typed it. Yeah, you do need glasses. No, I need glasses.

Always look like those look like C's. What am I supposed to do? Well, I know this guy's name, Detective Gillis. He didn't do his job.

Listen to her. Explain it. Detective Gillis did not have his body worn camera operate operationally ready as required by our policy. He was performing a law enforcement action as defined in our policy.

Further, in Section four point three one point seven states, members will maintain their BWC in a constant state of operational readiness. Detective Gillis was counseled by his supervisor. We understand the seriousness of the failure to capture this interaction, which is why our officer has received corrective action for this policy violation.

This corrective action has been notated on a performance observation form. Damn, Hickey, when she says corrective, it sounds like a beating. Like they took him to a back room and beat him up. What is that movie? Oh, wow. I was trying to police movie. A cop movie is a police movie. Super Troopers. No, I've never seen that.

Oh, you're missing out. But yeah, they did. They they took matters into their own hands.

Man, and it's crazy. I mean, Detective Gillis didn't have his body cam on and they they actually did have footage of this incident. One was like a partial dash cam and the other one is like off of a street pole, a light pole.

And you can barely see past buses. And all you see is the police officer kind of rushing over to Scotty Shuffler in the driver's side and kind of banging on the window and then taking them out and putting them in cuffs. And that was it. And so it's like, where's the part where he got dragged and his pants ripped?

And where's I mean, where's all of that? Was it behind the bus? Did it not occur? Did it not happen? You know, Hickey always thought that this would disappear just with a couple of bucks and it still might. But his lawyer, Scotty Shuffler's lawyer, says we're not we're not doing anything, settling anything but pleading guilty.

We didn't do anything. And unless we're going to have additional evidence that shows that he was just disregarding the cop and hurt him. This these charges might get thrown out. Oh, oh, yeah. Like you said, unless there was some other angle or some other somehow activity happened that we just are not privy to from what that from the videos that were released that were dragged that the officer claimed to have happened to him as he was trying to stop Scotty Shuffler. That word is getting quite the work out there. Maybe maybe the officer looking for a payday. Right. That's how it goes. Maybe.

Or maybe he knew he was in the wrong almost immediately and started conjuring up a story to say, whoa, I got to save myself here. Oh, yeah. People do that. Right. People do that.

It's shout outs to the police officers who don't do that. Yes. But there's there's there's I mean, people are human beings.

They are. I mean, when Scotty Shuffler went to prison. Excuse me. He didn't go to prison when he went to jail. OK, this guy wasn't in prison when he went to jail. They were saying that the police office was in there, you know, hanging out with him. And there was I saw a photo. Hickey, did you see the photo of him in jail behind the cell?

No. Oh, I'd love to see that there was a photo of him and it was like police officers hanging out next to him. And it's just like that's that's not a good look. For the Louisville PD, it's not you got an officer arresting somebody claiming something that there's no visual evidence of because the officer didn't do his job. But the police department is saying that he's in trouble. He got in trouble. But they don't say what the punishment is. Not that we need to know.

Made it sound like they took him to the back room and beat him up. And this story is just. I don't say it's losing steam. The validity is losing steam from the police department's perspective. And I mean, I don't I can't forget the police officer last week going, it doesn't matter what happened.

It don't matter what you do. It's too late. He's going to jail. It's just like, well, damn. Twenty seven year old number one golfer in the world. I think he's brutalizing anybody on the way to the golf course, of all places. I mean, we'll see. We'll see how things roll out there for Mr. Scotty Scheffler as the police department is pretty low on evidence outside of the officer's statement.

Now, Hickey, this is something we got to keep in mind. What about all those other officers that were standing around? Were they just down the road?

Where the hell did they come from? Good question. And I'm going to assume because I'm with you, I think there are a lot of good people out there that they just did not see what initially happened. Took their college word for it and helped out because there was, what, three or four guys around the car when Scotty got out. It was it was quite the scene. Wild, wild stuff.

You know what? Scotty Scheffler will be fine. Not to bring it back to the other golfer. Thank God it wasn't Tiger Woods, though. You know, could you imagine if that was Tiger Woods? I'm afraid Tiger's body would break down as he's getting out of the car. As he's getting out of the car while he'd be arrested.

Both. I mean, his body is brittle. He has not had great experience.

Yeah, you're right. He hasn't had great experiences in a car. No, he's not. He hasn't.

When his wife chased him out the house with the clubs, he crashed into a fire hydrant, right? Why are you laughing? It's not funny. It's not. It's not funny.

But yes, his history of cars and cops are not good. Do you remember? Hickey, I remember this. It was a Friday after Thanksgiving.

That's right. Black Friday. And it's just like, this is what happens.

Everybody knows holidays and I can only speak for America because it's where the hell I am. Bad things happen. Hickey, I don't want to be a bad omen here for Memorial Day weekend, right? Oh, here we go.

When we come back on Tuesday. One of us is going to remember this. We're going to have a story to talk about, right? Aren't the odds high that we're going to have a story to talk about something off the field, off the court related? I hope not, but history and the odds say otherwise. You're probably right. Big time weekend, family around.

Yeah. Where's Rashee Rice? Hoping not in Dallas. Hoping not driving. What are the Raiders doing? What are the Chiefs doing?

Let's see, some other teams that are no- The Chiefs got to put everyone at home this weekend. I know, right? Don't go out. Hey, it's a curfew for your life this weekend. Don't go outside.

Not even commencement speeches are a safe place anymore for this team. You're right. You're right. In reality, I hope everybody listening is safe over the weekend, but when you start mixing family and friends and parties and alcohol and parks and food and crowds and traffic and no work, everybody just gets loose.

That's it. People make bad decisions. When you don't have to get up for work, you do whatever.

You're out late. Things get wild. Things get nuts.

I will always remember Tiger Woods the day after Thanksgiving. It's like, oh, Tiger Woods accident. Wife chased him out the house. Ran into a, what is that thing called?

A fire hydrant. And then we all know about the time the guy, poor guy, almost died. What did he do? Did he? He passed out at the wheel. Is that what happened with the drugs? Passed out, was speeding, and then like on one of those like sharp turns drove off the road and his leg was crushed.

Oh my God. Tiger Woods has lived a life. And he's not done yet. What is he? How old is he? Is he 50?

50? He's just got to be 50, right? I mean, that's the thing. You say he's lived a life and he has.

I mean, with how people are living these days, he probably is only a half way home. Oh, my God. It's crazy.

Tiger Woods is Tiger Woods is only 48 years old. Oh, yeah. He can go to 96. Oh, my God. What the back half or whatever else he got left, what the next part of his life looks like. I can't imagine.

I can't. He's not even 50 years old. Imagine what the biography looks like for him in about 15, 20 years. Like you imagine not done yet.

Not done. Tiger Woods. He's lived how many lives? Three, four.

He's lucky to be alive. Like a cat. Put it that way. Yes. Well, Tiger, right? Tiger.

No, get it. That's right. Big cat. Big cat. Good for him. Congrats, Tiger Woods.

Anyway, it's the J.R. sport re-show here with you on the Infinity Sports Network. Tiger Woods. Happy to still be alive and still playing golf, even though he hurts. OK. Scotty Scheffler. Happy to be breathing the free air.

Charges, I think, will probably get dropped when we come back from break. We're going to talk about an individual. Let's stick to the health side, right? We're going to talk about an NFL MVP who thinks that he needs to lose weight. He already lost the weight because he feels that he wasn't good enough. And then speaking of shape, what the hell happened to Anthony Edwards last night? Maybe it made. Well, he already lost weight, too. Maybe everybody just needs to get heavy and he'll be in better shape.

Possibly. We'll talk about it on the other side of the break. Plus, Chris Fedor is going to join us to talk about the firing of J.B. Bickerstaff, the Cavs and the NBA in general. We got so much more to do.

Don't move and drive safe, by the way, for Memorial Day weekend drive safe. The J.R. sport re-show, the Infinity Sports Network. The wait is over.

That's right. Season five of the Kardashians is here. Just when you thought life couldn't get any faster, they're punching it into overdrive.
