So whether you happen to be on the East Coast, the West Coast, the Midwest, here in the South with me in Atlanta, Georgia, you could be up north in New York with our super producer and host Ryan Hickey. You could be in the mountains. You could be in the desert, the fields, the valleys. You could be in Canada, Mexico. You could be sitting out in the Pacific Ocean. You could be somewhere in the, I don't know, Atlantic.

You could be in Europe. Thank you for listening. Okay. You can always lock in on the free Odyssey app. Put it on your phone. Put it on your tablet. It's free. Let me say that again. Did you get something free today?

No? Odyssey app. Thank you for everybody listening live and local on their Infinity Sports Network affiliates.

If you got Sirius XM, you can listen there at Channel 158. And if you have a smart speaker, just ask it to play the Infinity Sports Network. What a busy day. Right now, this minute, this second, the Boston Celtics are going at it with the Cleveland Cavaliers. Boston leads a 55-53. I'm saying to myself, well, damn. It's supposed to be a, well, not a, not a close game.

Donovan Mitchell is out with a calf strain. Meanwhile, the New York Rangers, the Carolina, they got no, no goals on the board. First period is done. 0-0, both sides. New York Rangers are trying to end this. They got a 3-1 series lead against these Canes.

We'll keep you up to date on everything going on. Had a big day in sports today as well. Congratulations to Jared Goff. Got himself a four-year contract extension that will pay him $212 million. He is now the second highest paid quarterback in the NFL, making $53 million per season.

The only man who makes more is Joe Burrow at $55 million bucks. Jared Goff, I remember this, his final press conference, he made it very clear to everybody, I want to be a Lion. Regards to my future, it's not up to me. I love this place and we'll see what happens as time goes on here. But yeah, I love this place and love Dan, love all the coaches, love all my teammates. It's not out of my hands in some ways.

It's up to my representatives and obviously the people upstairs. It's crazy. Congratulations to Jared Goff. Went to an NFC Championship game. Could you imagine if the Lions had gone to the Super Bowl? Like these are things that you can't make up. It'd be unimaginable.

It was wild. The scene to even see them in the playoffs looks so out of sorts because they don't go. The Lions are not used to success. And so now after locking up Penay Sewell, Amon Ra, St. Brown, and now also the quarterback of the team and Jared Goff to four year deals each, they have given themselves a window. The Lions, as we all know, they're gone for it. I think the only man that can slow them down is their head coach, Dan Campbell. He could be the guy, old gambling Dan. Do I kick it?

Do I punch it in? And he's never met a guy like that. And he's never met a field goal that he wants to take. He wants to go for it on fourth down.

It could be fourth and 50. And Dan Campbell is going to go for it. Hopefully he doesn't hold them back from moving forward. Maybe they'll get a championship. Hickey, if the Lions win a championship, I think Detroit will just lose their minds for a week. It'll be a party for two weeks in Detroit. Two weeks? It may be a party for like two years. That may go right from February, even in the cold all the way through at least week one. That would be a hell of a scene. I mean, all that losing?

You gotta celebrate for more than two weeks. It would turn into New Orleans. It would be Detroit. It would be New Orleans or the North. It would be New Orleans, North. Let's go. Bring Mardi Gras up there this year or next year.

Yeah, they'd have a whole big old party. Congratulations to Jared Goff. Oh yeah, by the way, he's not the only dude who got a big old contract today. I want you to listen to this courtesy of CBS Sports HQ. Got some breaking news out of the NFL? Tampa Bay Bucks and safety Antoine Winfield Jr. have agreed to a four-year $84.1 million contract and it makes them the highest paid defensive back in NFL history. That's the latest from our insider Jonathan Jones.

The deal includes $45 million guaranteed. Bucks had placed the franchise tag on Winfield back in March following the first All-Pro selection of his career. This is crazy.

Like it's so wild when you get the player. And I know we talked about LeBron James and his son Bronny earlier on in the show as Bronny James is participating in the NBA draft combine today. And you know, it's easy to talk about father and sons. I remember watching Antoine Winfield play for the Minnesota Vikings. I feel like I watched him play yesterday. And here his son is right out of the gate. He won a championship with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. And yeah, he was drafted in the his first season of rookie year, the COVID year. Now here we are four years later. He's been around four years. He's one of the best defensive backs in the game. He hits everything that moves, leads the world and force fumbles. And the Buccaneers, I mean, they're trying to be competitive in the NFC South. Things are starting to kind of ratchet up here.

Okay. They bring back Baker Mayfield. They give Mike Evans a new contract as well. You take care of Antoine Winfield Jr. on a defense. He's probably going to be there his entire career. It's wild.

And so how about this today? NFL win totals. The odds, they were posted by all of the sports books. We got the news that on Thursday night football to open up the season, it is going to be the Kansas City Chiefs. It is going to be the Ravens.

It will be a rematch of the AFC championship game from last year that the Chiefs won a 17 to 10. But when you look at some of these win totals, this is what Vegas believes these teams are going to at, you know, end up at or around. Oh, is it because of the quarterback? Is it because of the coach? Is it injury history?

There's a lot. If you want to talk about the teams with the best odds to have great seasons, the Chiefs, the 49ers, they sit at eleven and a half. That's their projected wins.

Okay. You can keep going down the Bengals, Lions, Eagles and Bills sitting at ten and a half. You have the Texans and Dolphins and Falcons, Packers and Jets at nine and a half. The Bears are at eight and a half. And you think about all the talent that they've added outside of Caleb Williams.

He can throw a ball to also Moore and Keenen Allen. They got some weapons out there. So not a shock.

This is a little bit of one. The Steelers at seven and a half. What is it, Russell Wilson cooked in that regard?

What do you do here? Well, Mike Tomlin, I remember this from the NFL draft about a month. Hickey, has it been a month? Not yet, right? Three weeks. Has it been a month? Three weeks.

It was like late April. Damn. Man, Tom flies.

Sheesh. Anyway, Mike Tomlin, he talked about, well, at the draft, he's like, hey, Russell Wilson, Arthur Smith, former Falcons head coach, now coordinator, and even Justin Fields. He spoke to the NFL Network. He's like, listen, man, our guys are getting along good.

Going really well. All three guys, you know, to be really transparent are somewhat scolded. You know, they got something to prove professionally. But we as a collective feel the same way. We have something to prove. And I just think that that is a good frame of mind to be in as individuals and as a collective as we prepare ourselves for the 2024 season.

You know, it's not fun to relocate or get fired or things of that nature. But as competitors, man, it always motivates us in the right way. And I'm excited about working with the men that you mentioned. And we as a collective have got some questions to answer.

So I'm excited about that as well. Damn. Hickey, I never heard a coach describe his.

Well, how can I call him? One man's trash is another man's treasure. I've never heard anybody describe individuals in sports as scolded like, damn, like Russell Wilson done been through the fire and Justin Fields and been through the fire. Arthur Smith just got fired. He's right, though, he's not selling a lie. No, that's been Mike Tomlin's M.O., right?

He's always a truth teller, isn't really sugar coat it. And you also, I think part of the reason why you hear or you never really hear a coach say that is because how many teams take three different guys who basically had no value or just got fired and now put them all together to try to have them succeed? You rarely see that combo of three guys that failed now put together for really what is their last opportunity?

Yeah, it's crazy, though. The Steelers and the Steelers at a seven and a half. I guess this is that Mike Tomlin, they expect them to finish below 500 for the first time ever.

I would think and the only reason I would imagine Vegas would say, oh, seven and a half. It's because of the division, that's it, the Browns, you expect Deshaun Watson to be back with a good shoulder. You expect the Bengals all the money of paying Joe Burrow, you expect him to be good. And we know the Ravens are going to be good.

Let's remember this. They picked up Derrick Henry. Hopefully that spells Lamar Jackson from taking some of the punishment in the run game. And so I guess if there is a team, an odd team out in the AFC North, it would be the Steelers. No, they're the worst team.

Oh, 100%. I mean, to their credit, they have played well in their division, but on paper, without a doubt, those three teams head and shoulders right now, above where Pittsburgh is. Yeah, not the only team that got a, I don't want to say a raw deal here. Patriots fans should get used to this one. Vegas is looking at them as a bunch of losers. Between the Broncos, the Pats and the Panthers, Vegas is predicting that they're going to finish at around, you know, five or six wins, five and a half. I mean, damn it. If you pick an under on, man, if you're a Panthers fan, you really got to stink.

Okay. Anyway, we know the Patriots are rebuilding. They got Jacoby Percette in the building to start and basically babysit Drake May until he's ready to take over.

And Jerrod Mayo, the new head coach of the Patriots, still crazy to say that it's not Bill Belichick. Jerrod Mayo says that Drake May out of North Carolina got some work to do. Early pressure to Drake. Look, I mean, he has a lot to work on.

There's a lot to work on, but I have no doubt that he'll put the time in. So, you know, I know you guys saw him out. You didn't see him out here yesterday, but you know, he was here all night trying to get, you know, on the same page as everyone else. Things sound good out there in New England.

Hickey, did you get a birch chirping in the background? Sounded very peaceful. Sounded very peaceful.

I know it won't be peaceful by the time, you know, September, October, November roll around when the losses start piling up. But the New England Patriots, new day, new team, new coach, new quarterback, new era. Now there is a team that's not in a new era. It's the same era. It is an era of a man who has basically won his championships off the back of another man that he fired. And he's been hunting for that championship next as he built this team up into one of the most valuable things on earth. It's the Dallas Cowboys. It's Jerry Jones. Vegas has them at 10 and a half wins.

Sounds fine, right? They got to play in the NFC East. They get the beat up on the New York Giants. They get the beat up on Washington, which is also going to have, you know, Jayden Daniels out there at quarterback. The most that they have to contend with is the Eagles, who have done a damn good job improving their roster, especially selecting the defensive backs in the NFL draft. Yeah, give the Dallas Cowboys 9 and 10 wins. Put the Dallas Cowboys right back into the NFL playoffs. And then after that, I have an idea of what's going to happen when the Dallas Cowboys get there. They're going to lose.

The same thing that they do every single year. Hey, one of the most exciting things that the Cowboys have done this offseason. Let me tell you a secret. They brought back Ezekiel Elliott.

And it's Helen people that this is a good move. I don't know. Is there is there a time machine that I don't know about? Are they going to transport him back to 17 1860? Or what are they going to do with this man? If they had a time machine, they might as well go back to Ohio State and get his body from there.

This stinks. Jerry Jones back in April. I don't know what he's looking at. I think he is completely delusional. Jerry Jones says. I feel good about my Cowboys roster. We're very proud of our personnel, very proud of this roster. Very much. Thank this thank this roster without knowing right now how much the rookies are going to contribute.

We're very, very feel good about the promise of the team that we're going to have this year with this roster. He's the hickey. His sons don't talk to him. Nobody talks to him.

Nobody. You can finish the word. He's what? The old delusional. Oh, yeah.

Old into both. Yeah. I mean, they could try to talk to him. Do you think they're going to get through? Would you think if Steven Jones tries to sit down? Jerry said, Hey, Jerry, our roster is not very good. We are not a super rule team this year. Think Jerry's listening to him? Uh, no. How would he not know that this is the man who's supposed to be running the team with his sons and is the same guy that said, we're going to go all in this, this off season and they signed Zeke, let a few players go dinner place with anyone.

So I mean, this guy says one thing and does the other every time. You know, there's going to come a point. There's going to come a day where that stadium is not filled to the brim. You know that, right? I don't know if Jerry is still going to be alive to see it.

I think he might. There's going to come a day. I remember what the old Dallas Cowboys stadium would look like every now and then when they had some bad years, that place was empty.

Okay. You could look at the seats. I don't know how far off we are, but if you're a Dallas Cowboys fan, you have to be looking at this just going, what are we doing? Like find me something to be optimistic about that they've done here in the off season.

I think the answer is a whole lot of nothing. When totals announced by Vegas, let's see how things change. Draft has taken place.

We got the schedule announcement on Wednesday and I don't know what the hell is going on here. Hey Hickey, Draymond Green is back on TNT. Just not punching anybody, which is nice.

I was going to say, I just saw Kenny laying on the ground. I put a chest protector on him because I think Draymond, when he's running up there, he has a tendency to find someone's chest and stomp on it. Only when he's playing basketball, Hickey. Only when he's playing basketball.

Well, not true. There was that kid he punched at the Michigan State. So yeah, there's always one time and if you're Kenny, if you're, well, he won't punch you. I can probably won't punch Charles, but hey, you don't want to be number two.

You know what? Even, even being older, Charles Barkley has to be, I don't know, maybe about 60 flat right now. I wouldn't want to take a punch from Charles. I wouldn't want to engage. And I know he's older and had knee and hip and all of this.

I, I don't know. I'm not saying I take him in a fight, but I think Charles Barkley could still hold his own. Big dude. I mean, I'm sure, you know, what did I say for boxers, right? The last thing to lose is your punch or your strength. I mean, not that he's a boxer, but like, yeah. I mean, look, I would agree. If I, if me, you, I would want to take a punch from Charles Barkley.

Draymond may welcome it, you know, and then he could talk about it in the podcast. Yeah. Well, Charles Barkley, Charles Barkley did throw that guy through that window about 30 years ago.

So he got something in him. This, this portion of the show was brought to you by Wesley Financial. Are you stuck in a timeshare and want out?

It's halftime between the Celtics and Cavs. The Celtics lead 62 to 57. LeBron James is in attendance and LeBron James, he might be watching his basketball game. And right now, halftime in Cleveland, the Celtics lead the Cavs 62 to 57. There was no Donovan Mitchell. He is out of the game with a calf strain suffered in their last game. Maybe all of the minutes have finally caught up to Donovan Mitchell having had to carry the scene.

He was certainly injured as well at the end of the season. Jason Tatum criticized a lot for how he plays and off nights. He has 23 points.

You think about the Cavaliers with no Donovan Mitchell. Darius Garland has 11. Max Struce putting on a show. 15 points.

5 of 6 from downtown. Max Struce goes into the starting lineup with no Donovan Mitchell and he's putting up the points. Also, we talked to you about this. Let you know last hour, LeBron James is in attendance in Cleveland. Sitting there with his wife, his agent, Rich Paul, also his friend growing up.

And they gave him a nice video tribute. Now, a little odd, and Hickey and I discussed this, he's still a Laker right now. I know he has the opportunity to opt out of his contract and sign the longer deal and what have you. But it's rare that you see active NBA players just popping up to another team's games. And I get it, LeBron is from Cleveland. His son, Bronny, is actually in Chicago for the NBA draft combine. I think I'm safe to assume that LeBron was in Chicago, got on his plane to Cleveland, and went to the game. I think that's a safe assumption. Hickey, I also think it might be safe that, hell, when it's all said and done, his son might meet them in Cleveland.

He might go to Chicago or he might go to Ibiza tomorrow. Something like that, right? Going a little vacay after that big time combine workout. Yeah.

Rest those legs. Yeah. When you're LeBron and family, you can do whatever the hell it is that you want. And so we know the Lakers have been in the news. As the Phoenix Suns go out and they hire Mike Budenholzer last week, the Lakers still don't have a coach.

They fired Darvin Hamm about a week and a half ago. And we've heard some interesting names. We heard Budenholzer. Well, now he's in Phoenix. We heard Ty Lue.

Well, Ty Lue, it's been reported that the Clippers is throwing him money to stay. Jason Kidd got himself a contract extension. And so the wildest name that we've heard throughout this process is is J.J. Reddick. Yes, the J.J. Reddick who has not coached an NBA game in his life. The J.J. Reddick who has never been an assistant coach in his life. The J.J. Reddick who's never coached in college in his life. I don't think J.J. Reddick has coached anything.

I don't know, besides maybe running a kid's clinic. Let's be real. He's a player. He was a good player, great shooter, you know, put up points, played at Duke, player of the year, 15 year NBA gig. Now he's on ESPN. And every now and then he says wild things like when he talked about how the game of basketball changed and he wanted to have a conversation with Christopher Russo about the caliber of competition today versus yesteryear. Just I think you might remember this. He compared legends to ordinary guys. Listen to this. Did he ever shoot over 40 percent?

Probably 39, 40 percent. Different kind of games. Not once. That's fair. You also had 29 assists in an NBA game. Oh, well, you know, he was being guarded by plumbers and firemen. They were referring to Bob Cousy's competition.

Plumbers and firemen. There were a lot of NBA players. There were a lot of legends.

I don't care if you played in the 50s, the 60s, the 70s, the 80s and 90s. There are a lot of people who weren't happy with what J.J. Reddick said, even as a joke. And I don't think he was joking. The fact of the matter is, he's cool with LeBron James. LeBron James and J.J. Reddick just started this new podcast where they break down the game of basketball.

They talk to you about screens and pin downs. How exciting. Unless you're visually sitting down and watching.

I don't want to drive in my car and listen to that at all. And if LeBron James wants J.J. Reddick as the coach, I think you just do it. Like, what the hell do you have to lose? If you're the Los Angeles Lakers, you're in the business of LeBron James. You're trying to get as much out of LeBron James as you can. You want to squeeze all the juice, every ounce of life out of the dude until he retires.

You want to be along for the ride. You're the Lakers. Y'all are built off of glitz and glamour and Showtime and stars. LeBron James is one of the greatest basketball players ever. Regardless of how you feel about the man, he's box office, he's marquee.

At this stage of his career, he sells out arenas. People want to see LeBron. And if you want a happy LeBron, yeah, he's not going to throw his name publicly on things. You think if Darvin' Ham, if LeBron still wanted Darvin' Ham, that Darvin' Ham would have been gone? Hell no. If LeBron James wants JJ Reddick, they're going to hire him.

And I think they should. It sounds crazy. But just do what LeBron wants.

You've already gotten into bed with the man you just can't hop out like that right now. It sounds crazy for a guy who's never been a coach. But dammit, what LeBron wants, LeBron gets the Lakers have reportedly, they're saying, hey, whatever you want, LeBron, we got you. You want a one-year deal? You got it. You want a three-year deal? You got it. Want a one-year contract with a one-year option, LeBron? You got it. You want us to draft your kid, LeBron? You got it. Hickey, would you hire this man, JJ Reddick, as the coach?

What the hell? Honestly, at this point, I guess, I don't know what. There's no other coach right now that's experienced that I think you would want to free the Lakers or would take the job, because I just don't know anyone right now worth their salt that would sign up to be LeBron's assistant, essentially, and then fall in the sword two years later and get fired for it. I think, yeah, hire JJ Reddick, let him coach the team, have him sit there and fight with the media, make it interesting, fire him in two years when LeBron leaves and or retires, and you have to reset the entire roster and then start fresh. Yeah, the Lakers are all in, you might as well. Right, like what else are you going to do? And you're going to hire.

You're correct. Anybody who comes on with LeBron is basically going to be his assistant. Darvin Ham, it looked like even watching the team, the body language on the sidelines during timeouts, they checked out on him. You know, I could see how many times over the years have you seen LeBron James like highly engaged with, I don't know, like Ty Lue or getting into it like he's not shy.

He just sat there. Everybody just sat there with Darvin Ham and the way that he sits around on his podcast with JJ Reddick, you would think that these dudes would be hanging out all day. Maybe JJ Reddick is maybe he'll be a good coach.

I have no idea. Sign me up for it. I know there are a lot of coaches in the NBA who would be upset about it. How do you let this novice someone with no experience? How does he get a job before me? Tough. Have that conversation with LeBron James kid.

I think he also knows why. You hang out with LeBron, you get a job. Ask Rich Paul. Ask.

Well, I can go down the list. It will start and stop with his son. It's the JR Sport re-show here with you on the Infinity Sports Network. 855-212-4227.

That's 855-212-4227. Speaking of getting a job, and you know what? We mentioned this and I just saw the story. The Steelers are not expected by Vegas to have more than, I don't know, seven or eight wins. The Steelers bring in Russell Wilson and Justin Fields. Mike Tomlin said that we've brought in individuals who are scalded and have something to prove. There was a story that came out today that said Justin Fields, when he was a rookie, when he got into the league, he wasn't ready to absorb information.

That there were two veteran quarterbacks that Justin Fields kind of just said, I got this. I'm going to explain and tell you what I heard earlier today. Look around. I gotta give Cleveland credit for keeping it close.

75 to 68, the Celtics lead. Gotta come a point in time where they decide to run away from things. I told you before the break that I want to fill you in on Justin Fields. We know he's now a member of the Pittsburgh Steelers. It appears that he had some issues when he was still in Chicago. We'll talk about that in a moment.

But Hickey, I gotta say this. I gave you Bronny James' stats like last hour, and his stats were not good. His one season at USC. I mean, even looking at Bronny James from the college three, he was bad. 26% from three. He was 67% shooting from the free throw line. I said if Bronny James is going to do anything over the next bunch of days, he's going to have to learn how to shoot that rock better. I think it's always indicative, and I get it, a young guy, but shooting 67% from the free throw line? That doesn't typically bode well or make me feel encouraged that you're going to knock down NBA threes.

Hickey, how about this? There is footage from the draft combine. Bronny James hit like 12 straight threes. He hit every three that he took in a minute's time. Did you see this? I did not, no. So what happened? It was just USC?

He sucked? What happened? That feels almost like batting practice. There's nobody there, right? Right? There's no defender.

You're not in the game. That's like a player in baseball who is hitting 100 in games. You go watch him at BP before a tryout, and he's hitting everything out of the park. Yeah, it's 60 mile an hour pitches that he's hitting right there from a coach. You shoot an open through, no defending your face, kind of being in rhythm, having a good pass every time. Even for him being a poor three-point shooter, that feels like it's just having a catch in the park. Yeah, wild stuff.

People will get hyped about it. He is... With JRGM, GMJR I should say, mix that up there. If you were GM, GMJR, would you take the bait? Would you say he's not as bad a three-point shooter as he showed?

No. I don't want him at all because I think we've reached... I don't want to say critical mass, but I think we've reached the point where he's not like a first-round prospect. He's not. He's barely a second-round prospect.

Do I want the circus? The only team that makes sense for him to go to, if we stripped away his name and who he is, which is impossible, but just based on what he's done on the basketball court, he wouldn't even be... He'd be back in college.

That's just the brass tacks of it. The Lakers will hand out a gift. They'll select Brony at number 55. He'll be a Los Angeles Laker. He'll go play for the G League team.

He'll get a call up and we'll see how he develops. That's it. If I were another NBA team, why? Why do you want Brony James?

To do what? Develop him? Do you want the LeBron? Because he's his own kid. He's his own man.

Excuse me. Man. But he's LeBron's kid. I don't need LeBron showing up to my games and cheering on... Hickey Nas sounds terrible, don't I, right? Damn. You don't want a paying fan at your game? Well, I guess he's probably not paying.

Yeah. LeBron's not paying. I just don't need the circus. Who wants that? Nobody, right?

No, you're right. It's a circus. Once you get outside of the basketball... See, it would be one thing if Brony was good. If he was projected to even be, let's say, a top 15 pick, then he could kind of rest and run on his own laurels.

His back is up against the wall right now. It would have been real cool to see what he would have done at USC if it wasn't for the cardiac arrest. And I guess if you're Brony James and his family, you have to be happy that he's still here and that he can even participate and play basketball.

So it's always good to have things in perspective. We'll see what he does in his rookie years. Speaking of rookie years, I shared with you earlier on in the show, matter of fact, earlier this hour, that the sports books out in Vegas, that they've posted some of the win total odds for a lot of your favorite teams. And I told you when it came down to a squad like the Steelers who have to play in a competitive AFC North, they got them at like seven and a half right now. And we know they made some big changes in bringing in Russell Wilson, having Justin Fields on the squad as well. Arthur Smith is a former coach of the Atlanta Falcons.

He's going to be tasked with running the offense. And I want you to hear what Mike Tomlin had to say about these individuals. He called them scalded with something to prove. Listen, going really well.

All three guys, you know, to be really transparent are somewhat scalded. You know, they got something to prove professionally, but we as a collective feel the same way. We have something to prove. And I just think that that is a good frame of mind to be in as individuals and as a collective as we prepare ourselves for the 2024 season.

You know, it's not fun to relocate or get fired or or things of that nature. But as competitors, man, it always motivates us in the right way. And I'm excited about working with the men that you mentioned. And we as a collective have got some questions to answer. So I'm excited about that as well.

Yeah. Well, Vegas is not excited about the Steelers. Vegas believes that Mike Tomlin is going to have his first losing season as head coach. And he talked about Justin Fields. We got a guy here drafted 11th overall in 2021. He's now traded to the Steelers for a 20-25 sixth round pick.

It can only be as high as a fourth, depending on how much he plays. Like Justin Fields was highly touted. There are a lot of fans in Chicago who still wanted Justin Fields to be their guy. Well, we got a report that Justin Fields didn't necessarily play well with others. And I don't know, maybe he'll be on his best behavior with Russell Wilson. Now that he's on a different team, he's already gone through one chance. This is his second.

There was a report. Former Bears executive player development Josh Lucas said that when Justin Fields was a rookie, he had some some vets there. Andy Dalton, who played forever. And then also somebody who won himself a Super Bowl in Nick Foles.

Well. Josh Lucas said on the Bears Banter podcast that Justin Fields wasn't too receptive to playing with two other vets. We thought having two vets with him would really help him with Andy and Nick and and that was not cohesive at all. You know, the part I kind of liked about it is Justin knew he was the best and should be out there, but the part you don't like about it is there's a teachable moment in every point of practice. There's teachable moments in the building during the day. How you carry yourself as a quarterback or teachable moments at press conferences. There's teachable moments every snap on Sunday. And when you got two guys that have won as much as Nick and seen as much as Andy, and you don't take that information in because you're a little standoffish and in in a little little abrasive, you know you're wasting that opportunity.

Damn. Hickey, why? Why is he throwing this man under the bus? Does he not want to like a job in another office? Like if I'm Justin Fields, I'm like man, why are you?

Why are you diving out on me? Just shut up. Sounds like yeah, he may be done with the front office jobs and trying to get another one here with another team, but I think it's also interesting like I appreciate the honesty in the sense that like he was as Josh says standoffish and kind of arrogant in a way, if you will. Didn't take coaching well, it kind of explains why the talent did not work out so far in Chicago. Well, he didn't have well, is there's a lot a he didn't make good decisions. No be they didn't have a lot around him and I think that's that's probably one and two and this is why he has this new job.

And when you're in the second spot, it's one thing think about this. Russell Wilson is a guy that if he was still in Seattle and had a carved together a bunch of other good seasons, maybe got back to the playoffs. He's got a lot of talent.

He's got a lot of stuff. So he would have been looked upon as and he maybe he still is like a Hall of Fame caliber dude. Do you feel Russell Wilson's taking a hit and kind of football reputation? He definitely has. He's so I probably would put him in but it's very close.

Yeah, it's it's not looking good between either Sophie is a shadow of a doubt. Kevin Durant is going into the Basketball Hall of Fame. If he quit yesterday, he'd go in. If Kevin Durant quit three years ago, he'd go into the Basketball Hall of Fame. But here at this stage of his career, having bounced around and we don't know how it's going to end.

It doesn't look good right now. Currently with the Suns. It's not even a guarantee he finishes with the Suns. And so he's he started into this nomadic part of his career where he is a part of the Thunder and then he leaves the Thunder and then he says I'm going to Golden State and he leaves Golden State and then he goes to Brooklyn and he doesn't want to be in Brooklyn. So he goes to the Suns and that's a disaster after one full year, a year and a half.

And so what's next? Kevin Durant, would you be shocked if he ended up somewhere else? No, but it just doesn't look good on the back end of the quote unquote baseball card.

In his case, the basketball card, the resume. It's like anybody else with a job. Why the hell are you moving around so much? Can you not keep a job?

Are you the problem? And so with Russell Wilson, it's a fight with Pete Carroll, who's now also gone. And then you move and then you're in Denver and Denver doesn't want you.

And then you move from Denver to Pittsburgh. Russell Wilson is on a one year deal. Justin Fields gets moved and it's not even the completion of his rookie contract. I would think that at this stage of his career, being on his second team, that Justin Fields would be a little bit more open. And sure, you've had a couple of seasons in the league now. And so maybe you learned a thing or two. You don't need the same type of handholding from somebody like Russell Wilson. But if Justin Fields was looking at Nick Foles and Andy Dalton going.

What are you going to teach me? Hickey, could you imagine this dude listening to Russell Wilson all day? Oh, my God.

Yeah, no, that does not seem like it's going to go well at all. He'd be sitting by. Oh, what? Will you shut up already with the inspirational quotes? He'd be like, man, it's it's four thirty.

I'm trying to go home. What are you talking about right now? Shut up.

Some cringe worthy ticktocks as well. Yeah, he didn't give us what he said. I don't even know this. This is Russell Wilson.

Is he hanging a towel that he didn't say anything stupid at his press conference, did he? No, nothing memorable. That's for sure. Good. I mean, he really doesn't ever say anything memorable.

Everything that he says that's memorable is typically cringe worthy. Well, good luck to Justin Fields and maybe things will work out. Maybe the report will be true. Maybe Justin Fields is going to work on the return team.

I have I have no idea. He just wants to get out onto the field, I guess, as a as a quarterback. Put that on his report card.

Does not play well with others, at least the other quarterbacks. Wild stuff. It's the JR Sport Reshow here with you on the Infinity Sports Network. You want to holler at me? It's simple. Eight five five two one two forty two twenty seven.
