Thank you so much to Jeff Kerr from CBS Sports for joining us as we talked the NFL. We talked about the NFL and its franchise tag. We went through some of the athletes and some of the players who might be tagged or might be moving elsewhere.

For instance, someone like Mike Evans of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. We talked about Saquon Barkley of the New York Giants. He was franchise tagged last year. He may not be franchise tagged again, especially the way he played last season.

The New York Giants might not find it worth it to pay this man, especially since the New York Giants. It appears that they are a team that's going, let's just say, nowhere. We talked about J.J. Redick destroying his former coach, Doc Rivers. J.J. Redick now on the media side. Doc Rivers now back to coaching. J.J. Redick says that Doc Rivers just blames everybody for everything.

I don't know. Sounds to me that J.J. Redick is looking just to make a name for himself in media, which he has done and which he has done successfully. And for that, I give him props. As we continue on with the show, in a few minutes I want to talk about Justin Fields. This man has decided to unfollow the Chicago Bears on social media. This is like one of these bad breakups. You break up with your ex, you unfollow on social media, the whole world, your classmates, your family, your friends.

They see it and then they make a whole big to do about it. So we're going to talk about Justin Fields in a minute. Antonio Pierce. Antonio Pierce has a strategy to stop Patrick Mahomes. I don't know if he's going to go out there and be successful at it. Rick Pitino still doesn't care about his former players or his active players. The college football playoff is going to expand.

It has been approved. We'll talk to Gary Washburn about things and everything going on with the NBA, the Celtics and what have you. So we have a lot to discuss. 8 5 5 2 1 2 4 CBS. JR, I'm going to tell you, I'm sorry. I know you and a lot of your media brethren and even the fans are on the side of the players. I will always support the owners. These boys don't deserve the money they get at that level. None of these entertainers do. And honest to God, if they all retired today, they would go and get replacement players. People would still bet on the game. And within a couple of years, these guys would all be bankrupt like they all are after their careers are over with the majority of them. And they'd have to go get real jobs. Let me ask you a question, because to be honest, David, you shared a statement that just made me go, Oh man, this isn't pretty smart. I'm just going to be honest. What makes you say that these players don't deserve the money that they are making when the owners are the ones giving them the money?

Please help me out there. My understanding, my logic from someone who works in business, someone who works in media, someone who owns a business, someone who talks for a living, someone who I think I have a good understanding of this, you are worth what someone is willing to pay you. And in the open market, for what is much as an open market, if these NFL players are making this money and the owners are paying them, it just sounds very ridiculous to me to hear you say that these players are not worth the money they're making when they are driving the machine that people are watching.

And they're earning it. So explain that to me, please. First of all, the machine itself is what's making them the stars. If you don't have the machine, nobody knows who these guys are.

Excuse me, wait, I didn't ask you about that. That goes without saying that there is a mechanism in a machine that is there. And it's not just the NFL. If you want to talk about a machine, a machine for the players to earn money and notoriety starts in the neighborhood. It starts in the school newspaper, whether it's digital or still physical. In Atlanta, here in Georgia, it starts on V103 where I broadcast. It starts locally where people find out about these athletes. It moves on to the college level. It happens online on Rivals.com where these guys are recruited. And so, yes, the NFL is the ultimate money maker at $20 billion.

There is a machine. There is no machine. There is nothing worth $20 billion if there are no players. And for your point, even if there is a system, if the NFL fell off the face of the earth tomorrow and there was a new system, none of it would matter if there were not players. So I think we all understand that there needs to be an ecosystem for these people to go out and showcase their talent to make money, but they are the ones. They are the stars. And so whether it's the NFL or an imaginary football league, you, David, help me out.

I think we all know that there needs to be a system. Tell me how these players are not worth the money that they go out and bust their asses for. Tell me that specifically. I don't believe any of the entertainers are worth millions of dollars. I'm not, so this is simple math, David. You know how to do math? I'm not a mathematician. I don't do algebra, calculus, I know obtuse, but I know simple math. Do you know math? Absolutely not. OK, so let's, no, no, no, let's do some math.

You ready? You ever heard about Johnny and Apples? You ever heard something like that? Absolutely. So I'm going to do David and Apples. OK, you ready for this? If you... Go ahead. If you, David, what do you do for a living if you don't mind me asking David?

I'm actually a psychiatrist. OK, well, you're doing too much thinking. If you, David, help XYZ Company, you help make them or you help them pick 100 apples and they say, hey, you know what? We're going to keep 49 apples and you, because of your labor and your work, we're going to go ahead and just say, hey, you keep 51 of them, all right? If the guy next door comes over and looks at you and says, man, you deserve more. Well, you all came to this agreement, but you deserve more. The owner now says, oh, no, you deserve less apples than what you agreed to.

And somebody else comes and says, man, you don't deserve any of the apples. Which one would you choose? None of them or the 51?

Of course I'm going to pick the 51. And why is that? Because that's what I want, obviously, right?

We all want the most. I understand a free market. I understand that, for example, the girl answering the phones at my clinic doesn't make what I make.

I get that. It's about marketability. It's about who you can replace, right? It's like a brain surgeon and a consumer.

No, it's not. The fact of the matter is that there's a pie here, right? This pie is collectively bargained by the union. They sit down every four or five, six years and try to determine what that pie is going to look like into the future. And if there is money being generated by people watching, they split and they share that pie. They come to an agreement as to what they are worth to say that they are not worth the money that's there. This money is earned because I guess you watch. Because I watch.

Because the television distributors say people watch and so we will pay to broadcast it. So to say that all of this money exists, you might as well sit here and tell me the owners should either A. keep all of the money or the owners should just wake up and decide how much money that the players get. You know, free agency hasn't been here forever. You know, we can go through history and start thinking about different leagues and players. NFL free agency is nothing more than about only 30 years old, okay? We can go back even further if you want to start talking about Major League Baseball and people like Kurt Flood. If you want to start looking at the NBA in the late 80s and looking at someone like Tom Chambers. There was a point in time where the owner said, we do this, you need to be happy that you're here, be happy that we're giving you a check, know there's no free agency and where else in the world can you do that?

The answer is, unless it's a slave market somewhere else, the answer is nowhere else. And so the idea that you don't believe that millionaires deserve this money, then you don't, then it's real simple. Then you don't watch and encourage other people not to watch because if the money is there, the money gets split. And that, David, wouldn't you say is simple math? No, no, no, no. It's a simple question to you. If the money and the revenue is being generated, wouldn't you agree that it deserves to be split?

Oh, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, no, wait. If you agree that the money should be split, then I don't know how you can make an argument that the players, they don't deserve the money that they're getting. If the money is being generated from their labor, then how would they not deserve to participate in it? I agree the money should be split. However, I don't believe they should get the percentage they get. Why shouldn't they get, why shouldn't they be close to 50-50?

Why? Number one, back, way back with Joe DiMaggio, those guys, they had jobs at the off-season. They were more like regular people.

No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. That's irrelevant to what's going on now in 2024. Why today in 2024 don't you believe that Major League Baseball players, and tell me if I'm wrong, because they all make approximately 50-50. They basically split the cash 50-50 across every league. If you think there's a league that shouldn't be a 50-50 split, then by all means, please fill me in. NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL, why don't you believe athletes should get a 50%, close to 50% split for what they generate?

If this is a partnership here, if you say they need a league and the players need organization and you need labor, I have the organization, you have the labor, let's get together, we're partners. Why shouldn't they make the money that they generate? Again, they are a short-term product.

You can replace them. And they get replaced. That's why it's a union. They operate under a union. These players aren't operating individually by themselves. Forget the players. The players operate under the umbrella of a union. The union makes the deal and the agreement with the association, so throw that idea out the window.

Because whether or not the players are being regenerated every five years, which is typical, sometimes less of an NFL career, or every eight years of an NBA player, it operates as a union. That is the entity. So let's think about this again.

And I'm going to go through this one last time. And you can continue on in ignorance, so you can kind of try to make 1 plus 1 equal 2 here. There is the league. There is the union. Why shouldn't both entities as partners split the revenue?

Please help me. I believe they should split it. Ok. But not 50-50. So answer the question. Absolutely not 50-50. I believe the players should get the majority.

Ok. Again, the players are replaceable. David, hold on. I want you to hear this, David. This, I got to tell you.

Either you are just like, I'm just going to drive it into the ground because you're going to. What you're telling me, I think most people listening, and you said it at the beginning, and it has nothing to do with my media brethren. Man, I could give a damn about media brethren.

I got friends. I don't care about media brethren or listeners or whatever. The fact is, I think most people listening to you right now, you would be in the minority. Because I don't know anybody in any space of business who says, I need you and you need me. But oh yeah, I'm just going to settle for a whole hell of a lot less when we can do approximately a 50-50 deal. Are there certain circumstances where someone might need someone a little bit more at a particular point in time? And you say, oh yeah, well let's do a 60-40. In most cases, if it's going to be mutually beneficial, whether you want to flip it towards a 50-49 or whatever which way you want to look at it. Most people who operate in a partnership try to do 50-50.

I mean, if I had to take a majority approach to marriage, hey, I think that's a marriage that's going into the toilet and maybe that's why a lot of them don't work. But David, for the world of professional sports, what you have said to us tonight, today, is just, it sucks. And it's pretty ridiculous if you ask me.

855-212-4CBS, that's 855-212-4CBS. Then why doesn't David just go work for free? Why doesn't David carve up and get together all the psychologists and why doesn't he just start the Psychologists of America?

I don't know. Why doesn't he just go take less money? Why doesn't he just go work for a hospital and say, hey, I'm showing up to work and I'm replaceable and so you the hospital, just take more of my money. I'm just happy to show up to work.

You know, me and all my psychologist friends, that is just, I don't know. Maybe, maybe he wants to go work. Hickey, does he want to work for Jerry Jones? Like, is that what he wants? Sounds like he wants to work for Communist China, honestly.

You should ask him to move, right? Continue, Hickey. I interrupted you. I'm sorry.

No, no, I was just going to, I don't really understand it. And if anything, the NFL, any pro sports salary cap reflects kind of modern day. The people who we care about the most, not many, the people that generate the most interest get the most money. Patrick Mahomes and the 53rd guy in the roster don't make the same amount of money.

Why? Because they don't have the same impact on a game and they don't have the same impact on a team. I don't really understand where he's coming from and he also showed you gave him, what, 15 minutes and he couldn't back up his point whatsoever. He's just like, well, the players are replaceable. Well, yeah, we know that. That's why they have a union. And forget that.

It's just, it's nutty. There's some people who will die on the hill, I guess, of the players make too much money. And for some reason, it's only applicable in a lot of cases. And he said entertainers, so I gave him credit for that. Most people who yell about athletes making too much money, they don't compare about, or they don't complain about actors making too much money, right? I don't think I've ever heard anybody in my life say, hey, Dwayne The Rock Johnson, oh my God, he's making so much money, too much money. Nobody says to, I don't know, Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise, oh, he's making too much money, can't stand him, too much money. It's just like, hey, Tom Cruise doesn't get all the money from every movie that he's in. He doesn't get all the money from Mission Impossible. You want to know what happens? Tom Cruise has to share that money with the studio, okay?

All right? So what's the difference? It's just that everybody thinks that because we sit down and we watch sports, we know so much about it, the players are much more visible, they're humanized, they're not actors, right?

So they're your next door neighbor, they're the guy you grew up playing basketball or football or what have you with. It's so relatable that the athletes and all these entertainers, they make so much money. Where's the money coming from? Is it coming out of thin air? No, the money is coming from the consumer, the people that watch, the people who pay for the distribution. The money's coming from somewhere. Stop it.

If you are so in favor of the owners and the owners deserve the most money and the split shouldn't be even or close to even, then you need to just take your head and shove it up Jerry's behind and keep it there. And he's a psychiatrist? He's been reading too many books his life. Just about, not common sense, but about psychiatry.

I think common sense passed him by getting all them degrees or degrees, whatever the hell they call them. Shame. Shame, shame, shame. It's the JR Sport Reef Show here with you on CBS Sports Radio. I was just trying to help out somebody. It didn't make too much sense. As we talked about ownership and leagues and making too much money and players don't deserve the money that they're generating. How the hell do you not?

Oh, they don't deserve the close to 50-50 split that they get. Okay. Alright.

Whatever you say. As we continue on with the show, I do want to talk about Antonio Pierce, some of his comments about Patrick Mahomes. In a second, I want to tell you about Justin Fields, who has now decided to unfollow the Chicago Bears on social media. Yes, that is doing it all. The Cougars, they beat Iowa State ranked number 6. And now the Cougars, they're 23-3 on the season. They are ranked number 2 in the country heading into the weekend. And we know getting towards the end of February, it's all about madness. March Madness is on the damn way.

But there's some madness going on in Chicago. It's been the case for a few weeks now. It's been the case for a few months.

It's been the case, I guess I could say, for a few years. We all know the lengths that the Chicago Bears went through to try to get their hands on a franchise quarterback in Justin Fields. He was selected by a prior regime. Someone who was also named Ryan and Ryan Pace. The current general manager is named Ryan Polls. The Chicago Bears drafted Justin Fields. Had to trade draft spots with the New York Giants to go ahead and bring him in.

And unfortunately, they haven't fully yet found that success. Justin Fields has either been injured. The team has lacked weapons around him. I mean, even prior to last season, they bring on DJ Moore. And Justin Fields, he plays. He didn't play every game. He played 13 games.

It's almost like an incomplete score on his report card. And although he has improved, you still don't have a full idea what he can be if he's A, going to be healthy, B, what he can do with a full assortment of weapons, and C, is he going to be able to pull it and bring it all together? And when you have just seasons where he's not playing all the games, or he's nicked up, or the team around him sucks, do you want to make a commitment where quarterbacks are now making $45 to $55 million a year? And so it's tough really to evaluate Justin Fields. It's even tougher to look at the team as going 7 and 10 last year, as I mentioned, he was hurt, doesn't have all the weapons, and then you also, dare I say again, he didn't have a new GM. He didn't draft Justin Fields. And at this point last year in 2023, the general manager, Ryan Pace, or excuse me, Ryan Polls, Pace is the old one, Ryan Polls was saying that he needs to improve as a passer.

Well, I don't know what the hell, if he's improved as a passer, because his numbers pretty much stayed the same, and it's an incomplete score given his availability and the talent. And so we don't know about Justin Fields outside of quote, unquote, he has potential. But the Bears, they got the number one overall pick. They can go ahead and thank the Carolina Panthers for that. And so they have a chance to quote, unquote, reset. Ryan Polls has an opportunity to bring in his guy without having to pay Justin Fields a crap load of money, pick up his contract option, or give him an extension.

Seems to make sense that the Bears would want to reset. Now having said that, there are plenty of folks in the organization who have raved positively about Justin Fields. How about on WGN out in Chicago, the president of the squad, Kevin Warren, he talked about Justin Fields and all the talent that he possesses.

Listen to this. Justin has a rare combination of intelligence, of size, of strength and speed. You forget how big of a man he is until you're up on him.

He's not a small man. And so I just think every year he's going to continually get better. And so I'm glad he's on the Chicago Bears.

Okay. Somebody else, happy that he's a Bear, hopes that he stays a Bear, is the man that they traded for to get him some help, not this past season, but the end of the one before, is D.J. Moore. He came over as a part of that trade.

D.J. Moore says, and he said this two weeks ago, Radio Row talking to Pro Football Talk. He's like, yes, hell yeah, I want Justin Fields back on the Bears. His growth has been phenomenal. If you look at the games where he came back off an injury, he's been everything that you can ask out of a quarterback. Just putting your players in position to win and getting the ball to his playmakers. And if he got to do it himself, he does it himself and takes it like 50, 60 yards and does his thing. And that's all you can ask is just steady growth, and that's what he did. And you're on record, and you want Justin Fields as your quarterback. I'm definitely on record, yeah.

Okay. He wants Justin Fields as his quarterback. Is that a big enough sample size, though? Is that a big enough sample size to justify paying him or picking up his fifth year option and then realizing that you have to commit to the man for the next, I don't know, three or four years at 45, maybe plus? Players play.

Players don't pay. Let's hear from Justin Fields. As a matter of fact, after one of the games at the end of last year, he said, moving into the offseason, he is not going to let these rumors, the trade thoughts, the draft, he's not going to let any of it affect him. We had the same, you know, topics and stuff last year, so it's not like we didn't have the number one pick last year.

So, I mean, it's going to be the same thing. Like I said, I control what I can control, and, you know, I'm going to get healthy this offseason, spend time with my family, and get better. So, like I said, we went through the same thing last year. We had the number one pick. Everybody was asking what if, what if, what if, and nothing happened. So, yeah, I'm not saying that nothing might happen because, shoot, we all don't know.

But I'm not going to let the potential or what if, what if not, you know, stress me from, you know, enjoying life and going through my everyday life. Yeah, we had the pick. Well, here's the difference, Brock. Here's the difference between last year. You all had the number one pick. You know what happened?

It was traded. Okay, you think they're going to do that again? This is not the same as last year. This is absolutely not the same as last year. The financial implications are not the same as last year, and if this was last year, then why is Justin Fields on social media unfollowing the Chicago Bears?

Yes, we have entered into that phase of this story, and this is what happens nowadays with athletes. We get all of the messages that let everybody know how they feel about their current situation, that they're not happy, that they're miserable, that they're going to cry, that, you know, I don't know. LeBron James puts out an hourglass emoji because his time is up.

Hey, LeBron, what does the hourglass emoji mean? I'm not going to talk about it. Like, what are we doing? And so Justin Fields unfollows the Bears, so what does that mean? You can draw the assumption of I don't think I'm going to be a Bear. I'm not going to follow the team because I don't think I'm going to be here.

Maybe he knows he's not going to return, and there ain't nothing going on that we are all not aware of. We all know the possibilities that exist, and the possibility, the biggest one, is that the Chicago Bears say let's bring in Caleb Williams or let's bring in Drake May. Let's pay them less because we think the potential is higher and it's going to cost us less, and we can go ahead and rebuild that way. And by the way, if I'm Ryan Pols, and if I'm a manager, a GM of a team, and I have a chance to bring in my own guy, you know what I'm doing? I'm resetting not just the clock for the team.

I'm resetting the clock and the runway for me, for myself, for my job security as the GM. It's time for Justin Fields to go. The Chicago Bears should utilize the number one overall pick to stockpile. They should use the first pick to grab a QB. They should use Justin Fields to bring in additional weapons, and yes, you can take the approach of, oh my God, well, if we bring in Marvin Harris, is it going to work?

Yeah, it's fine. I'm not going to say receivers come a dime a dozen, but you know who has a better chance of providing long-term stability to a franchise? It's not a wide receiver. It's a quarterback. And the Bears have a better chance of doing that, grabbing a QB, than bringing in another wideout and hoping that Justin Fields becomes an upper echelon QB.

I'm just saying. 8-5-5, 2-1-2 for CBS. It's 8-5-5, 2-1-2 for CBS. On the other side of the break, speaking of quarterbacks, Antonio Pierce, he has a way to stop Patrick Mahomes, or at least he has a theory and an idea. It's 855-212-4CBS right before we went to break. We talked about Justin Fields. Justin Fields is kind of waiting in the abyss right now. We don't know if he's going to be traded. We don't know if the Bears are going to get him help.

I have made very clear my position on it. I think the Chicago Bears, I think it is a smart idea to start over. I don't think the Chicago Bears have gotten a full sample size on what Justin Fields is or what he could potentially be. Even if he has potential, if you have to weigh where the Chicago Bears currently are, when you have to weigh what they would potentially have to pay him versus what they could get in the draft, I think it's very simple. I think it's time to move on from Justin Fields. I think Justin Fields can go ahead and find success with another team. I think the Chicago Bears, I think it's both a financial decision as well as a talent decision. I think it's an honest evaluation of where they are as a team. For an organization that's been looking for a QB forever, Justin Fields hasn't knocked people's socks off.

And they might be able to draft a quarterback who can do so in, I don't know, a Caleb Williams. 855-212-4CPS, let's get some of your calls on and then ask super producer and host Ryan Hickey his thoughts. Michael is here from Ohio, you're on the JR Sport Beef Show. Hello, how are you doing?

I'm excellent Michael, go ahead. I understand everybody's take and everybody thinks Caleb Williams is the next coming, but I don't see an Andrew Luck in this draft and they've got the number one draft pick. A lot of people think Caleb Williams or Drake Mays is the guy. Trade the picks, stockpile draft picks and put more weapons and get an offensive line up there. You only got to pick up one year options and then if you don't see improvement, you've now got pieces around the team to go draft a quarterback at a cheap rate and you've added more talent around the team.

I think that makes sense if you think that you can just drop Justin Fields after the fifth year and know that there is going to be a bigger prospect there. That you're not familiar with. That is an even bigger risk.

That is a massive risk. We all know that every single quarterback who comes out of the draft is a prospect. That's a fact. Some of the prospects are more highly touted than others. There's no such thing as a quote unquote can't miss prospect.

So I think we all know that. But the idea of just picking up Justin Fields option and then saying, oh well now we got some other weapons here but then all I fear is Justin Fields is no longer good. There's no guarantee that you'll have another quote unquote option to get a highly ranked prospect as good as Caleb Williams would be projected to be.

That is just a massive, massive risk for what is the most important position on any team. I agree with you there but there's been too many misses and Jimmy Johnson built the Cowboys with many draft picks. Yeah, he also had a quarterback there in Troy Aikman. He didn't have to wake up and worry about who was going to go out there and throw the football. I mean you can have all the talent in the world and thank you Michael for calling from Ohio.

At the end Michael was like, oh I agree with you there. What, just that point? So hey I'm not going to draft Caleb Williams because I want an offensive lineman and a wide receiver. And I just want to get a bunch of players in. But hmm, yeah maybe Justin Fields if he doesn't work for a year who the hell is going to get him the ball next?

Oh I don't know. We can go back to the draft and it's too risky man. Look, I can't sit here and tell you that Caleb Williams is going to be the second coming. I can't sit here, nobody can sit here and tell you that Caleb Williams. But if you're going to take that approach then why risk it?

Hickey, what is this man talking about? He's swearing to God he heard me, what is he talking about? I mean, he may have heard you on WFAN.

I don't know if they get that in Texas but again on the Odyssey app. So maybe he just accidentally, without realizing, hit WFAN on the weekend. Possibly, hold on a second. Hey Robert.

Robert from the week? Yes sir. Was I talking strictly about New York City sports? Yes sir, you were. You listened to WFAN New York City?

Well, they came on my radio, I heard it, so yeah. Alright, I'm not going to ask any more questions. What's up Robert, I appreciate you anyway. So, going back to your last caller, I kind of agree with him because everybody said that Trevor Lawrence was the heir apparent to Andrew Luck and Joe Montana and everybody else and he's fallen a little bit short. You know, maybe the team, maybe whatever.

So, if I was a Bears, I'd kind of hold on to Justin Fields and try to go for more protection around him, more productivity around him. And if he happens to leave, you know, why doesn't he go to New England? Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, what do you mean happen to leave? There's not a matter of him happen to leave. They're either going to keep him or they're going to trade him.

There's no in between. Well, if they trade him, I think New England is the best spot for him because they seem to know how to work a quarterback and get the best out of them. Have you seen, they have one, they drafted one and now the guy is going with Bill Belichick and Mac Jones.

They got Mac Jones and Bailey Zappi. He's not an offensive guy. Excuse me? Belichick wasn't an offensive guy.

Oh, my God. Robert, Robert, Robert, Robert. You just said that the New England Patriots know how to have a quarterback and develop a guy. And the only guy that they have had is, I don't know, over the past 20 years is Tom Brady. OK, they had a Matt Cassel who came through and then fell off. They had a Jimmy Garoppolo who came through and fell off. And then we saw Cam Newton come through in a covid year who was basically a stick of glue and some popsicle sticks for them at that stage of his career. And then we saw a Mac Jones who they drafted.

And then we saw a Bailey Zappi. And Bill Belichick is gone and nobody's enthusiastic. So I don't know who you think is, quote unquote, developing the quarterbacks in New England. Bill Belichick is obviously more so a defensive guy.

He was the defensive coordinator for the New York Giants in the 80s. But to say that the Patriots develop QBs is like saying that I have sprouted wings and I can fly. That's not the case. Well, it may happen. Don't ever say never.

Well, I may also sprout wings and fly. But I don't know if may happen is a good enough reason to say they should trade him to New England because they develop QBs. That hasn't proven to be the case. Mac Jones is probably going to have a new job next season, Robert. So we got to see what happens. I agree with you there. But also in the same sentence, you know, the offensive coordinator was now that cluster fire in Las Vegas. So but either way, you know. I hope the best for Jesse.

He's won me a lot of games and fantasy. Oh, OK. Well, hey, listen, ain't no wrong somebody making money. Thank you, Robert, for calling from Texas. John from South Carolina. Go ahead, John. OK, John ain't here. Hey, Hickey, what are your thoughts on all of this, man?

I'm with you. I think at this point you got to trade Justin Fields. Number one, I'm very high in Caleb Williams.

I think he's going to be the real deal. Number two, just from a financial perspective, like you said, you reset the market or reset the team on a rookie quarterback contract. And also, number three, I mean, you have plenty of picks. You're picking, I think, what, fourth as well. You have a high second round pick as well. That's your own like you have other picks that are still with, you know, within the top 40 that you can use to get the quarterback, but also get a receiver, get offensive line. You can kill three birds of one stone in this draft. Yeah, they go from number one and they go to number nine.

It's just it's wild. And if they should choose, depending on how desperate a team might be right behind them to select, I don't know, another quarterback. There's nothing to say that the Chicago Bears and this would be this would be actually be smart.

Select someone who might be their next future franchise QB and then utilize a pick, maybe a couple of picks to get more picks in the first round. You never know. And so let's slow down. Everybody is now, well, I don't know any of these guys could be the next Ryan Leaf. Like, yeah, yeah, anybody can suck. It's just just the facts, people. Come on.

Do you watch the games? This guy's been one of the best quarterbacks in college over the past few years. Is there a guarantee that is going to transfer to the NFL? No, of course. Everything is risky.

But you just don't do it. Let's keep fields again a year. And then let's pay him. But then if he sucks, we just let him go. Where are you getting another quarterback from?
