A peanut butter M&M's production. In a world where Super Bowl winners get the world's admiration and a fancy ring, but the runners-up get nothing, one retired cop returns. That's one retired quarterback. Read the script.

Oh, sorry. One retired quarterback returns to claim what's his. Um, that's claim a ring with diamonds made from M&M's peanut butter, but you're on a roll. The Ring of Comfort coming soon to a Super Bowl new you.

Okay, picture this. It's Friday afternoon when a thought hits you. I can spend another weekend doing the same old whatever or I can hop into my all-new Hyundai Santa Fe and hit the road. With available H-Track all-wheel drive and three-row seating, my whole family can head deep into the wild. Conquer the weekend in the all-new Hyundai Santa Fe. 2024 Santa Fe available early 2024. That is accurate and I'd happen to be JR. It is the JR sport re-show on CBS Sports Radio coming to you live from Atlanta, Georgia. Super producer and host Ryan Hickey holding it down for us in New York City.

The show gets started every single weekday at 6 p.m Eastern, 3 Pacific. How can you listen to Every Minute? How can you hit pause? How can you hit rewind? How do you listen to this show later or tomorrow? How do you do any of that? It's simple on the Odyssey app. It's free.

F-R-E-E. Thank you to everybody tuning in live on our many local CBS Sports Radio affiliates. You can tune in on Sirius XM Channel 158 and on smart speakers. All you got to do is ask that smart speaker to play CBS Sports Radio. We've already had a very eventful show.

Yes, the Odyssey app will allow you to listen and hit rewind. Bill Bender joined us. Bill Bender came through to talk some college football with us from the sporting news. Also, with the NBA on its way to its All-Star break after tonight, we got three games on the slate. Sam Quinn from CBS Sports, he joined us to talk some hoops. As we all know, the NBA's All-Star weekend is going to take place in Indianapolis.

We got the dunk contest with Jalen Brown. He's probably the biggest name in it. We also have Mac McClung from the G League who's going to be making a return. Earlier in the show, we talked about Rob Manfred. He's going to be sticking around as the Commissioner of Major League Baseball until the year 2029.

And as we continue on here with the show over the next two hours, there are quite a few topics and subjects that we will discuss. As I sit here in the studio, Kaitlyn Clark and the Hawkeyes, they're getting ready to take on Michigan. And Kaitlyn Clark is eight points away from being the all-time leading scorer in Division I women's college basketball. So she needs eight points. That'll probably just be a formality.

She may have that done and cooked just in the first half, in the first few minutes. And we'll talk about Kaitlyn Clark. Speaking of someone being done, Tiger Woods, he ain't done yet.

He might be sooner than later based on his play today. We'll discuss that. And then also we know about the terrible tragedy that took place yesterday in Kansas City. We'll give you an update on that as the show moves on. If you want to participate, if you want to call up, it's very simple. It's 855-212-4CBS.

That's 855-212-4CBS. You know, one thing about this whole Kaitlyn Clark game. Picky, since when?

And maybe I'm missing something. Since when is basketball, college basketball, on Peacock? This year?

I think, yeah. But the Big Ten NBC, that deal started. So you could thank them for that. And I get it.

You want to force everybody into streaming. I know. Where else? They couldn't broadcast this game nowhere else? They put it on Peacock?

I hate to say it. Makes financial sense. What, for the future or for now? I mean, what, make people buy Peacock? How much is Peacock? Five bucks? Something like that. Six bucks, seven. I mean, also everything is rising.

Probably nine bucks a month. Bruh. Kaitlyn Clark already has five points. It's eight of three? Yeah, she hit a three. The game just started.

Yeah, the game just started. She needs three points. And so they're going to wait for her. They're going to give her the ball back on the other side. And here they go. Iowa has the ball back. Kaitlyn Clark has the ball. Here comes the number. Can't do play by play.

Well, she passed, by the way. Or is another, I was going to say, is another idiot going to take a shot? This feels like Kobe in his final game or LeBron going for the record last year. There's only one player in the playbook. Get the ball to Clayton. Give her the ball.

I wouldn't be surprised if the ball was stolen. So no Kaitlyn Clark shot yet. I would just think that she takes every shot tonight. Like this is the night, if you're going to break a scoring record, you got to go all in.

Like take, take every shot, drop 50. You know, I get it. She, I want to give her credit for not being a whole jerk before the game started over the past couple of days.

She made it very clear. I do not want a stoppage of play. I don't want a ceremony.

I don't want to have, let's a round of applause, but come on. They're probably going to do it. Are they going to go all in and stop the game for five, 10 minutes? Probably not.

They're going to stop. And I think everybody's going to allow her to get a round of applause. It's going to be real fun to see what she does when she gets to the WNBA. You know, she going to help lift the league or will she just be, I don't want to say an anonymous face. She took a gigantic three.

Oh my God. Hickey, did you see that? No, I don't have Peacock, but I see on Twitter that she just hit it. She took the biggest she tied. So now she's tied all time leading scorer. She has scored all eight points, bruh. She came down the court and to the left of the logo, just jacked up with three and it swished in to tie the record.

She's now tied with Kelsey Plume all time for the most points in women's college basketball. And she just took another. Yeah, she makes, she looked like Steph Curry out there, bro. She took a, she took a F U three. I was going to say the way you described it without even seeing it.

I was going to say that's like Steph Curry-esque. Yeah, she did cross the logo. Boom. The defender was right there with her. She's now the all time NCAA women's scoring leader.

We do have a stoppage. She's getting hugs and kisses from the coach and she's smiling from ear to ear. Coaches are hugging her. Everybody's hugging her. Kaitlyn Clark has just passed Kelsey Plume most points in division one women's college basketball history. And the shot that she made was what I call an F U three that she launched from outer space with no problem. Is she going to be doing this in the WNBA? I'm not so sure. She is going to be a problem. A matter of fact, let's listen to this. This is from prior to the game.

This is taking place over the past couple of days. Her head coach, hold on a minute. Yeah, she took that three from. They need to put her in the three point shooting contest because that. That wasn't just fair. She popped and stopped like she is.

Steph Curry. That was bad. Let's listen to her coach say, I'm not sure if I'm going to call a time out the honor. This is what she said. Yeah, they they continued play with the other team until they got the ball back. And so, yeah, they did call the time out and everybody had an opportunity and chance to enjoy it. So congratulations to Caitlin Clark, who is now the all time leading scorer in Division one women's basketball, passing Kelsey Plum, who, of course, is a multi multi time champion here for the Las Vegas Aces.

Kelsey did it at Washington when she was in college. And speaking of an all time leading scorer. This is a natural transition to the man named LeBron James. Good for LeBron James.

His all star break started early. LeBron James did not play last night as the Los Angeles Lakers beat the Jazz 138 to 122. LeBron can run around on the court for a little while on Sunday in Indianapolis, and then he doesn't have to worry about playing again until next Thursday, when the Lakers regular season starts up against the Spurs. But for all the talk throughout the trade deadline, LeBron James moving LeBron James Lakers, LeBron James Warriors, LeBron James Hourglass and LeBron James not happy. The Lakers have won six out of their last seven games. The Lakers now have a record of 30 and 26 after beating the Jazz last night.

Anthony Davis is telling everybody, oh, we now know the team that we need to be, and we don't have to think about it. I'm just still not sure if the Lakers have enough to compete for a championship. Do they have enough to go out there and win a mid season tournament, which, by the way, will now be sponsored by Emirates Airline?

Very international and very fancy, I might add. The Los Angeles Lakers, they might be good. I don't know if they're good enough. Los Angeles Lakers don't have the depth pieces, if you ask me, unless we have some other players that are going to go out there and step their games up. But the biggest issue has been whether or not LeBron James was going to stick around. He has. And now it's is he going to stick around? Come summertime, he has a 51 million dollar player option for next year. And with all the talk, his agents been talking for him. Rich Paul last week said, oh, yeah, LeBron James, he didn't want to be traded. He wants to stay here. Well, Rich Paul also spoke with Stephen A. Smith and he said, LeBron, his commitment is to the Los Angeles Lakers. He's committed to the Lakers. I mean, Jeannie has been an incredible partner for for for him and us.

And and I think it's important for that to be understood and to be respected. Obviously, you know, there's ups and downs and emotions throughout the course of the season. But ultimately, you know, LeBron's committed to the Lakers.

Yeah, for for now. And we had this discussion when Sam Quinn joined us. It was only two weeks ago when LeBron James was in New York getting ready to take on the New York Knicks on a Saturday night. And LeBron James was asked about his his player option and if he's going to pick it up. Has he thought about it? He said no. Simple as that. No explanation.

No. When he was asked about the hourglass emoji and what it meant, LeBron James left it alone. He provided no additional insight. And so, yeah, you can be committed to the Los Angeles Lakers now, but there's no guarantee that LeBron James will be committed to the Los Angeles Lakers come June or more importantly, July.

Rich Paul, his agent, continued on. And he said, you know, grass isn't always greener if you decide to move. Taking the words out, just anything at this point in your career, where's the win? Because if you go somewhere and you fall short, then I can count 50 losses. Yeah. So what's the value in that? Right. You know, oftentimes, you know, people get caught up into making impulsive decisions. And I have a lot of friends that's not here no more today because they made impulsive decisions. Right.

Same here. And so I think oftentimes we spend a lot of time, again, trying to validate the opinions of people that aren't even validated themselves. And so for me, just standing in the moment and again, understanding that the grass ain't always greener. Whoa. I mean, that's a that's a heavy analogy there. That's kind of kind of rough. I understand. Yeah.

People make rash, brash, spur of the moment decisions and they can cost them their lives. But dammit, is it the same thing? Is that is that equivalent to LeBron James deciding whether or not he wants to be a Laker or a Golden State Warrior? Hickey, wasn't that kind of a of a deep analogy, a little bit of a stretch there? A little bit, you know, especially with LeBron's future.

It's always, always never closed, right? Yeah. Well, it's, you know, one thing that's nice to have in life is options. LeBron James isn't short on options. Let's be real. Nobody is forcing LeBron James to play for 51 million dollars next year. LeBron James is already a billionaire.

If I'm correct, I mean, outside of maybe Tiger Woods and I don't know how active Tiger Woods we can consider him to be, but he is. LeBron James is the only active billionaire on earth playing sports. Yeah, Messi got a lot of money. Ronaldo got a lot of money.

Chilina Mbappe is going to have a lot of money soon. LeBron James got a billion dollars. Is it wholly necessary if LeBron James wants to compete for championships? Do you need to come back next year on a 51 million dollar contract or can LeBron James return on a minimum salary?

Like, what are we doing here? We got Russell Westbrook playing in the NBA right now. We know he's on the Clippers.

We know he's with a reduced role. He's playing for a little less than four million dollars. Russell Westbrook, for the majority of his career, was a max player, talking about someone making 40, upwards to 50 million dollars per. LeBron James is going to be 40 years old later this year.

And if you want to compete for championships and you want help, do you take another 51 mil? And let's not also forget one of the key factors that LeBron James has talked about, and we don't know if it'll be the case. LeBron wants to play with his son, Bronny. Is Bronny going to come out of college? Is he going to come out of USC? And realistically, it's not like Bronny is lighting it up at USC. And if he was, you'd be hearing about it.

Bronny, last year, cardiac arrest. He didn't start playing until December. He's averaging a whopping six points, three rebounds, and two assists. He's also shooting 35 percent from the field. Is it because he's rusty?

Maybe, probably, possibly. Or is it because he's what we all kind of know? He's not one of the top, top prospects. ESPN says Bronny James is ranked 20th, the 20th best prospect in college basketball.

20th. And if he were to be drafted, realistically, Bronny James is, is he a first rounder? Probably not, but he's going to get drafted in the first round because of his dad. That's if, that's if he decides to come out in the NBA draft in the NBA draft in a few months. And so there's so many questions with LeBron James. Do I think he's going to be a Laker?

Yeah. I'm more interested in really seeing how much money he's going to take. Do you need 51 million, LeBron? I'm sure he can go into the piggy bank, you know, for another generation of your family members.

But I would think your whole bloodline is probably set for life. So the Lakers, they got questions. Are they going to win anything the rest of this year?

I think not. Is Bronny James going to end up on the squad? That's a question that, quite frankly, the Lakers can't control. Or they could if he slips. Or if they slip. Or if other teams realize that, hey, we better not touch LeBron's kid. Hickey, do you think that'll happen? Like, does LeBron got enough juice to pretty much steer where his kid goes?

Is he later in his career now? You know, it's, go ahead, please. Disrespectfully.

Go, please. But with how Bronny's been like, I think he's averaging six points on three assists. Like, he's not playing a lot and playing very well. So I think like if the Lakers are picking 20th, could he force Bronny to the Lakers at 20? I think it's more likely than if he was like a number one prospect and was going to go number one overall and you tell 19 teams, hey, don't touch the number one prospect because I want to play with my son. I don't think that would happen. But for someone who's six points, three assists, I think it could happen.

We could say ultimately teams aren't going to want him in the first place. If his last name was not James. Yeah, it's a whole different story. Yeah.

His last name was Hickey or Jackson. There'd be no draft bio for him whatsoever. Yeah, none.

None whatsoever. Yeah. You know what?

This might work out. I don't want to say best for him. Not that at having a cardiac arrest is good, not by any stretch. But the fact that he's having this type of season. And if I'm correct, at one point in time, LeBron James joked that his son would be able to play in the NBA right now.

Am I making that up, Hickey? Maybe like he'd be better than some guys in the league. I don't recall that exact quote. I wouldn't be surprised if he has that much confidence in his son, but I can't recall that exactly. I saw Bronny James play when he was 16 years old. I was actually doing work for the NBA, the junior NBA at the time. And LeBron James Jr. came in and he was good. He was solid.

I mean, that's what I could see. He wasn't the best player. I saw him and Imani Bates.

And it's crazy to see what can happen in so many years. Imani Bates, you know, going, getting shuffled back up and forth between the G League and the Cavs and his issues in college. He was supposed to be the next big thing.

It's tough. He looked good. He looked, he was smart. That's his thing. He's a very smart player.

No shock. LeBron is his dad, but he's, he wasn't lining it up. He wasn't scoring.

That's what people look for a lot of times with a prospect. He was just a great overall player that wasn't the biggest dude. Is he big?

Yes, but he wasn't the biggest dude. And so LeBron James and his future, huge question mark, the Lakers will get to the playoffs. I think they'll be eliminated at some point. And then everybody's going to think about what LeBron does. Well, if you want to win these championships, if you want to stay in LA, if you want to play with your son, hey, leave some money on the table, man. How much more money does 40 year old LeBron James need to be making? You playing for money, love, or legacy? It can be all of the above, but how the hell you want the Lakers to build and get in stars?

And how are you going to maybe sign a Donovan Mitchell if you're taking 50? It's a wild world. It's the JR Sportbreeze show here with you on CBS Sports Radio. Congratulations to Kaitlyn Clark. Tonight, she breaks the women's D1 scoring record more points than anybody else in history. She has 23 of Iowa's 33 points after the first quarter.

33 to 22 Iowa leads Michigan and Kaitlyn Clark is the all time leading scorer. It's the JR Sportbreeze show here with you on CBS Sports Radio. We're going to take a break. When we come back on the other side, we're going to talk about another dude who's old. Unlike LeBron, I don't know if he's capable of winning anything else. His name is Tiger Woods. What is this? 26 points in the second quarter Iowa leads Michigan 40 to 30. Kaitlyn Clark has more points than anybody else in women's college basketball history in the division one level. 855-212-4CBS.

That's 855-212-4CBS. Right before we went to break we talked about LeBron James. His future. LeBron James entering into the all-star break. The Lakers on a little bit of a run right now and they want to make a run towards the title.

I don't know if they're going to have enough firepower to do so and in a few seconds I want to tell you about someone who returned as well. His name is Tiger Woods. This man hasn't played in a sanctioned PGA tournament since 2022. Last time we saw him was trying to win the big ones until his body fell apart last year. The Masters and the PGA Championship.

He had to withdraw out of that and there's a lot. We're going to talk about Tiger in a second but I need to let you know this okay. It's a big deal. LeBron James is a big deal.

Tiger Woods is a big deal. And after 52 long years it finally happened. Last week Popeyes fans everywhere experienced the perfect pairing. A Popeyes commercial during the big game about their new lineup of wings. We're talking about wings that come in five crispy juicy flavors. Sweet and spicy, gummy. They're going to be sweet and spicy. Ghost peppers, signature hot honey barbecue which I love. Roasted garlic parmesan I love that too. And while we're at it Popeyes wings go great with any occasion.

Not just the big one. So order some Popeyes today for your upcoming whatever it is. I love Popeyes. Anyway I'm sure Tiger Woods is eating Popeyes right now as he gets his body together. As I told you he tried to play in these these big tournaments last year and his body, his body failed him. Well today Tiger Woods came back playing out at the Genesis Invitational at the Riviera and Tiger Woods is in 56th place.

He's going to have to be in 50th place if he wants to continue on in the tournament. At one point he shanked one and then also Tiger Woods said yeah I shanked one because my back froze up for me. Tiger Woods said that his back hurts, that he had spasms, that he couldn't move. What a shock. Really what a shock because before the tournament started Tiger Woods went into detail about his body in general.

Now you listen to this and you tell me if his back spasms today were any type of a surprise. My ankle doesn't hurt anymore because no the bones are rubbing anymore but then again it's different than other parts of my body have to take the brunt of it just like my my back is fused and so other parts of my body have taken the brunt over that and I have two different body parts that are now fused. Yeah the other other parts of the body have to adapt and as far as the love, the love, I still love competing, I love playing, I love being a part of the game of golf. This is a game of of a lifetime and I don't ever want to stop playing. Is that Tiger Woods hickey or is that Robocop?

That's incredible. He's like oh yeah my the bones are my ankle and they're not rubbing together anymore. He's like yeah I got my back my spine is all fused. Like listening to him talk made me hurt. He says he's doing it because he loves it and I get it. This is what he's been he is 47 years old.

47. He's trying to play golf. I mean the last year he's limping around the course. He can't walk. It's raining.

It's damp. He's his body is breaking down. I'm not trying to get rid of Tiger Woods but I mean damn it's painful. It's painful listening to him.

Hey I want to ask I want to ask Rich Ackerman here with us before he delivers of the news. Rich I know you just heard Tiger Woods just just talk about his body and and he loves this but does he need to keep doing this? It's the heart of a champion. He loves playing. My bones and my ankle rub together. My back is fused. Like isn't there a point where you just go like if this is his quality of life now at 47 are we gonna expect it to get better as he gets older?

No but you know like as long as you could get out there and do it I think you'd do it. Yeah I don't I don't think he can anymore. That's the that's the problem. Tiger Woods his body falling apart. At least he gets to wear his new clothes. What a red red.

See I'm a jerk now. Sunday red. Sunday red.

I was gonna call it red panda but that's that's something completely different. Sunday red. You getting yourself a shirt Rich? I used to have his Nike stuff.

It was always very good quality so I might I might take a you know I might buy a shirt or two. Yeah he he like LeBron James also is a billionaire. I think Tiger Woods can just I don't know.

You know as they tell you money can't buy you everything. He can't buy Tiger Woods a new body. Maybe if he stopped swinging he'd have a higher quality of life. The back spasms get him today. It's the JR Sport Reshow here with you on CBS Sports Radio. Yeah Tiger Woods is just slapping golf balls into trees because his body is breaking down.

When we come back on the other side of the break. Hey Rich is going to give you an update on Tiger Woods. We'll talk more about her. More LeBron. More college football. And then speaking of football in the general sense.

I'm just a little insane in the membrane. Anyway Caitlin Clark all-time leading scorer in women's college basketball. Iowa at halftime leads Michigan 53 to 41.

They are at the half. Caitlin Clark is lighting it up. I'm waiting on them to post on the screen here on Peacock how many points she has. Last I looked up she had like 23, 25 points. So I think she might have more than that right now. Let's see they're interviewing her here at the half.

Hey Hickey these Peacock folks need to do better. How many points does this lady got? 28 points. 10 of 16 shooting for Caitlin Clark as she's just taking Steph Curry 3's.

The deepest of Steph Curry 3's for Iowa. We'll talk more about Caitlin Clark as I am disappointed that this game is streaming on Peacock. But as Ryan said it makes perfect sense.

It makes perfect business sense. You want to get people onto Peacock right? If you're an NBC you want folks on Peacock. I mean we had an NFL playoff game. First round. Kansas City Chiefs, Miami Dolphins on a Saturday night. It was only available streaming on Peacock.

How about last week we heard the big news. ESPN, Fox, Warner Discovery, TNT, TBS. They're teaming up with later this year to go out and drop like their own. Their own streaming service. And it's pretty much to try to combine forces to compete with the Netflix's and the Apples of the world. Amazon who got their hands in distribution of sporting events too.

Now here's the funny part. It was only last week that Roger Goodell said the NFL is looking to find its fans on streaming networks. Listen to this. It's changing faster and deeper. Consumers are moving off of pay television services and going into digital streaming services and platforms.

And we as the NFL have to be able to reach our fans here. Oh, okay. Yeah, Hickey was right.

It's great business. Now Hickey, I'm about to use a cliche. You tell me if it's applicable, okay? I know Rich Paul, he talked about making rash decisions and some of these decisions killed some of his friends.

And he said the decision by LeBron James is a tough one too. And I'm like, it's two different spaces. There's a cliche about, you know, the enemy of my, my enemy is my friend or the friend of my enemy is my enemy.

Do you know how it goes? The enemy of my enemy is my friend. The enemy of my enemy is my friend. Okay. Right. And that way you two can combine to take out the enemy, right?

That's right. Okay. Two against one. It's been reported.

And tell me if this fits. It's been reported that Roger Goodell and the NFL are not happy with this potential combined entity. So in that case, is that a matter of, you know, typically ESPN is an enemy of Fox.

Fox is an enemy of us with CBS and, and vice versa. I mean, if you got ESPN getting together with Fox, not that they're the enemies of the NFL, they're all partners, but can't they combine and chop the NFL off at the legs? Can't they now figure, Hey, we're each paying the NFL, I don't know, two and a half to $3 billion a year. Well, if we all got everything under one roof, don't we now pay them less because we're not on roof. Don't we now pay them less because they have less leverage to kind of take us for a ride.

Then that makes sense. Oh, a hundred percent. And Roger Goodell is not happy. I'm sure the NBA, MLB, everyone feels the same way because you're right. Now, if they join up, it's basically one section and now, you know, three bidders become one less competition, lower prices, less competition, lower prices. The NFL, the benefit of the league, what they've had is to say, Hey, ESPN, ABC, you, you want some football?

Well, so does Fox. How much are you going to pay? You know, they can go to CBS and say, Hey, ABC, ESPN, they want some games and they're going to pay us two, 2 billion.

What you going to do? Well, you got to come up with 2 billion as well. And so the NFL loses, as Hickey said, they lose some of that leverage when it comes down to, to bargaining and how much money they made. And so the NFL it's been reported, they actually look through all of their television contracts and deals. And it's been said that they can't do anything that ESPN, Fox and Warner, that they can get away with this without the NFL going, Hey, you can't do that. You better give us our money. And this might actually, Hickey, I don't know if we discussed this on air or privately, this might actually quote unquote, burst the bubble where these salaries and professional sports have gone through the roof.

It feels like it, right? I mean, at some point it's got to come down. We're not going to have, I mean, you would think, all right, we're not going to have a hundred million dollar quarterbacks.

It continues to escalate. I mean, we got a guy in, in, in Otani, he's making $700 million. We got quarterbacks now making 55 million. And a lot of this money, a lot of this revenue is coming from the television deals. Well, if the television deals have kindly, let's just say plateaued, then so are the salaries. You know, I know the NBA last night, we talked about Adam Silver saying, yeah, let's negotiate our next television contract. Let's see how much money we're going to have in. And then once we have that figured out, we can determine if we want to add a team in Vegas, if we're going to have a team in Seattle, let's see how big we have to split the pie while everybody still makes a good amount of money.

Well, does that change if you're not getting the same type of cash and maybe it all comes out as a wash because Amazon wants games, YouTube, Google wants games, Netflix wants games. And so maybe, maybe it doesn't matter that the traditional broadcasters are teaming up. NFL's not happy. And I'm sure the NBA isn't happy with this as well. A matter of fact, Adam Silver was talking to Pat McAfee and Adam Silver said, we ain't know nothing about this. How long will it remain that way? We don't know, especially with this new merger that just allegedly took place between ESPN, Fox, which we knew nothing about until it kind of got announced.

But like, how do you balance all this? Neither did I. Really? You have no idea? Well, no, I mean, there's no secret about that, that it's a joint venture among those companies.

And I think they're not claiming they told the leagues about it beforehand. But so we'll see what it becomes. But go on.

But that's obviously a massive piece of this entire thing. What do you look at the future? How do you kind of balance when we go to tomorrow?

Or do we stay in today? How do you balance all that? Premium Live Sports cuts through in a way no other content does. And as great as all the dramas are on these well-run streaming platforms, or even the dramas that may still be on network or traditional cable channels, they're not appointment viewing. You know, when people do things and don't tell you, it's typically not when they're necessarily wrong, but when you're not going to be happy with it. Right? I mean, does your kid steal the cookie out the cookie jar and and go run and tell you? No, because they're not supposed to do it. Or at least they know you're not going to be happy. Yeah, none of these traditional cable companies or television distributors, they didn't do anything wrong by not letting the NBA and the NFL known that, hey, we're getting ready to combine powers. Did they have to? No, they didn't.

They didn't have to do the damn thing. But they know that, as we already saw, Roger Goodell and the NFL, they weren't going to be happy. They were going to try to figure out a way to stop them. You just heard it from Adam Silver with the NBA. Were they going to go as far to try to enforce contracts and and have a beef?

I don't know. But they weren't going to be happy because it could potentially limit them and how much money that they make. And so as Kaitlyn Clark tonight breaks the NCAA women's record Division One, the biggest score all time. It wasn't on ESPN. It wasn't on Fox. It wasn't on NBC.

It streamed on Peacock. A change is a coming. A change is a here. And this is something that we all have to get used to. I mean, it's such a wild world. And this is this is kind of not related, but it is.

Come on. In the Olympics in Japan, we had Snoop Dogg popping up providing commentary with Kevin Hart. And we're going to have that again for the Paris Olympics. I mean, at one point in time, Snoop Dogg was talking about a horse at the equestrian, you know, just just crip walking. I'm like, what am I looking at right now?

And they just there's there's even wilder things. Hickey, do you remember Snoop at the Olympics? Oh, a little bit of it. Very funny. Very funny. Very funny.

He could do everything. Yeah. You can you can also now watch Snoop provide commentary.

Listen to this. This is Snoop and Kevin Hart from the opening ceremonies when they were out in Tokyo. There's the Cayman Islands. What Olympic sport are they known for?

I would say they're known for tax evasion. They might not win the gold, but they'll help you hide it. Jesus Christ. The Australian team came out looking like Girl Scouts.

Check them out, care. Oh, where are the cookies? Oh, this is nothing. They got all of them looking like it. Even the man. Look at this.

I mean, it's short to him to perfection. Come on above the knees. Next country.

Saudi Arabia. Oh, no, I say nothing about your mouth. Nothing to say. I'm not even looking at the women. I'm not going to turn your head over there.

Are they off the screen yet? You look, they leave you. I look first. You look, I look, I'm playing with them over there. Somebody's going to give me a sign. It's already off the screen. OK, we are clear.

You know what, Hickey? If if they provided commentary on everything, I think I think I think I'd pay to watch that. You could put it on the streaming service. Those was I didn't hear that clip, by the way, before we got on there. That was some funny stuff, man.

That was funny. I'm with you. I am in if they are judging countries walking in for this summer. Sign me up.

Let's go. He said he said the Cayman Islands would get a gold medal. Play play that first one again.

Play that. There's the Cayman Islands. What Olympic sport are they known for?

I would say they're known for tax evasion. They might not win the gold, but they'll help you hide it. OK, that now that was that was funny. You know, I'm not a huge, huge Kevin Hart fan. That might be one of the funniest things I've ever heard him say. That is that's not see, I'm more of a Chris Rock dude. And then Saudi Arabia. Don't look at the don't look at the women.

I think that joke kind of writes itself. Yeah, I'll pay for Peacock already do, but I'll pay for Peacock if if Kevin Hart and Snoop Dogg are going to commentate. I'll go ahead and extend my subscription. Hey, it's a streaming world, folks.

We're just living in it. It's the J.R. Sport Reshow here with you on CBS Sports Radio eight five five two one two four CBS. It's eight five five two one two four CBS.
