If you missed the beginning, hit rewind on the free Odyssey app. Talked about some of the other coaches that might get fired in a few weeks. People like Ron Rivera, Matt Ibraflus, Bill Belichick, possibly. And as we continue on with the show. I do want to talk about John Moran.

Because he didn't get fired. He got suspended and he's going to be returning next week for the Memphis Grizzlies. And ahead of his return, John Moran sat down and spoke to the media earlier today. And so we'll get into that. I do also want to continue to talk some football, obviously. Now that we're moving towards the end of the college football season and moving into bowl season, the NFL has now taken over Saturdays here. And we have three matchups tomorrow all day long that can whet your appetite as we move into the stretch run of the NFL season. We have a good game that I want to take a look at on Sunday between Dallas and Buffalo.

And so we have so much more to do as the show continues on. If you want to find me on the internet, if you don't got nothing better to do than kind of search online and look at social media, I'm there at JR Sport Brief. And if you want to talk to me here on the airwaves, if you got a phone, if it's connected, if it works, you can call me up. That's 855-212-4CBS.

That's 855-212-4CBS. I do want to kind of go back on something that we discussed right before the break. And I feel like we're getting into a little bit of I don't want to call it a city beef. But we know Shohei Ohtani has been one of the biggest topics in sports over the past week. It was only about a week ago last Saturday afternoon that Shohei Ohtani went on Instagram and announced that he's going to be joining the Dodgers.

It was only yesterday that he had his press conference and he stood up there and said all the normal stuff with his interpreter. He's just like, yeah, I'm here with the Dodgers to win a World Series. Thank you to the Angels. Thank you for the Dodgers.

Where's my money? I'm ready to play baseball. That was the press conference, right? And then a lot of people have said, oh, well, why didn't he go to the Giants? Why didn't he go to San Francisco? Buster Posey says San Francisco has an image problem.

People look at San Francisco and go, oh, it's dirty, it's dangerous, it's crime ridden. We heard all of that. And then the Giants, by the way, they decide to sign an outfielder from South Korea, Jung Hooli. And he was introduced by the Giants today. He's on a six year contract, about one hundred and thirteen or one hundred and thirty million dollars. But Jung Hooli, he spoke to the media in San Francisco today.

It didn't seem like he had a problem with any crime or any drugs, any homelessness. He took the time to actually address the media in English. Listen to this. Hello, Giants.

My name is Jung Hooli, grandson of the wind from Korea. First, I would like thank the Johnson family. Larry, Aaron and Pete. Also, special thank you to my lawyer, Scott Boras, and Boras Corporation. Yeah, you got to thank Scott Boras. Otherwise, he'd lock you in the basement, even though you're the baseball player, making him the money.

But I digress. Yeah, I guess it takes a guy from from South Korea to just say, oh, yeah, yeah, I'll go to San Francisco. How much they paying and where is San Francisco? I guess that's what it takes. And so we had a caller ask me. He's just like, hey, J.R., why? Why won't guys go to San Francisco? I'm like, I don't know.

I don't know. Maybe because the Giants peaked about a decade ago with Buster Posey. Maybe that's why. Maybe it's it's it's lost.

Well, not Los Angeles. Maybe it's because it's California, but it's the chilly part of California. Maybe it's expensive. Maybe people don't want to get hit and mollywop with the taxes.

Maybe Buster Posey is right. Maybe people are concerned. Maybe the wives of the players are concerned with the image of San Francisco. Maybe they took too many walks around Union Square and the Tenderloin. Maybe that's why.

I don't know. Steph Curry shows up to work. They don't play in Oakland anymore. They play in downtown San Francisco. Draymond Green. I mean, for the violence that he inflicts upon individuals, I guess he's a perfect fit to play in San Francisco.

Clay Thompson shows up, right? And I know we've had a lot of cities that have been hit hard. I can also tell you that playing at the AT&T ballpark, Pac Bell, whatever the hell they call it, used to call it.

It's not all that friendly to hitters. And so then our caller said, well, JR, if they don't want to come to San Francisco, why does somebody like Bryce Harper go to Philly if Philly is not necessarily the nicest of places? And I'm like, whoa, here we go. Here we go. What are we going to do, East Coast, West Coast beef? Is that what we're doing right now? As someone from the Northeast, the East Coast, it's a little rough out here.

Get a little cold. Population density is tough. Yeah, Philadelphia, yeah, you can't be no punk ass being in Philly. You can't. And so I guess I don't have no answer.

I don't have none. I mean, for me, I'm not going to say every big city is the same because they're not. New York is not Chicago. Chicago is not Houston. Houston is not New Orleans.

Smaller city. It's not Dallas. Dallas is not Miami.

Miami is not Atlanta. You know, I don't go to I don't know, Colorado and and think that I'm in Vegas. Vegas doesn't remind me of Seattle.

Seattle doesn't remind me of Portland. I've been to all these places. I've been all over this damn country many times over.

Every place is different. But there's small intricacies. It's culture. And so, I mean, if you got a beat up on one city, you know, why do free agents go to Philadelphia? Well, why won't they come to San Francisco, man? I really think it's overblown.

I really do. I know if you turn on the news, people been destroying San Francisco forever. It's worse. It's terrible. It's bad. Homelessness.

People are sleeping on the streets. Well, have you seen downtown L.A.? You've been down a block from the White House recently.

It's tough everywhere in this country. And so I think it's just overblown with San Francisco right now. And now that we've thrown sports into it, this is just an even bigger flashlight. If you went back and asked Buster Posey to kind of explain himself or retract, he was being honest. He was telling the truth.

I don't think he was lying. We can't say that about a lot of cities because let's be real. Professional sports franchises, they are setting up shop in major metropolitan areas. That said, I mean, if we want to talk about small markets and markets and markets, what are we saying? Oklahoma City?

Like, what was small? Man, if we were a small market, New Orleans, what? Like, where exactly, all things considered, are we putting a sports franchise that's going to garner and be worth billions of dollars in a, quote, unquote, small city? Small cities get small teams, minor league teams. Small cities get the squirrels out in Richmond. OK. And I know it's a sideshow, but small cities get the Savannah bananas. Like, what are we doing?

And so I don't know if it all that big of a difference. I mean, you could you could be a free agent and say, oh, I don't want to go to Vegas. You know, we got free agents who say I don't want to go to New York for years. We've had plenty of players who say I don't want to go to New York for what? I could make a lot of money, not without the stress and the scrutiny and the lights.

And I could just make my money and mind my business and, by the way, pay less taxes. Why do I want to play there? And so San Francisco's, I think it's getting a bad rap right now and it goes beyond, you know, the baseball reasons. It's just it's like piling on right now.

There is no such thing as the perfect city. Got a lot of players who want to go to L.A. They want the glitz. They want the glamour. We got a lot of players who want to go to Miami.

Like there's certain cities that that are attractive because of the weather, because of the location. You know, I don't see free agents. Ask LeBron James.

He said it. How many people wanted to join him in Cleveland? The answer is nobody had to go down to Miami.

But let's not get it twisted. San Francisco got the same problems that a lot of cities got. It's its own unique problems as the kind of the tech center of the country.

But come on, ain't no perfect place. No need to beat up on San Francisco. The Giants and their problems, they don't all hinge on what's going on, you know, outside of Embarcadero.

I don't think that's the case. 8 5 5 2 1 2 4 CBS. It's 8 5 5 2 1 2 4 CBS. Listen, I love Atlanta. I wouldn't advise anybody to take a 10 minute walk outside a State Farm arena.

I would not advise that. Trying to build up every place all over the country. 8 5 5 2 1 2 4 CBS. David is calling from Dallas. You're on the JR Sport Brief show.

Hey, JR. I'm I'm going to tell you the thing with San Francisco. I think it's true about a lot of these states.

I know with a lot of the pro athletes and stuff, it may not matter. But I I mean, I've heard about where college football coaches say, you know, I got an offer from Utah and I got an offer from UCLA. Same money and everything.

You know what? I'll take the Utah job because I don't have to take my family to one of those terrible cities where, you know, you got people crapping all over the streets and and let's face it, a lot of those blue states, they basically legalize shoplifting. I mean, I'm sorry, but look at who's moving away out of certain states. People move out of California, New York, and they're coming to Texas. They're coming to Florida. And I'll tell you, you're talking about a big city that doesn't have a whole lot of pros.

It's really nice. Let's talk about Nashville. I don't see why more pro sports aren't going to Nashville.

All right. Well, thank you, David, for calling from Dallas. Well, we've certainly heard that over the years that that Nashville is a potential destination for maybe a Major League baseball team. It wouldn't shock me moving over into the future, especially with gambling.

If a team, if one of the leagues does open up more Nashville outside of what we already have, you know, with the Predators. And you know what? To be honest, it's I'm talking about pro sports.

He brought up college. All right. There's a there's a big difference. The last time I looked, the last thing and only thing I saw in Utah that happened to be a professional anything, you know, outside of Salt Lake. From a football perspective, football club FC, you got the jazz.

All right. But if I'm talking about pros, if I'm talking about leagues, billions and billions and billions and billions of dollars, you got to put them where you got millions and millions and millions and millions of people. And there's a there's a vast difference between taking a look at at a college town, which is typically going to be in more of a rural area.

And a lot of colleges support the rural areas opposed to having a team worth billions of dollars. And it's in a metropolis. I mean, if I got you called me from Dallas, if I have to think about what you have north of the city up in Arlington.

Come on, man. We got a whole park up there. It's not dead smack in the middle of the city. But how many people you need an area to support what you have there with the Rangers and then you have the Cowboys and going out to Jerry's World. It's a whole extravaganza. Jim is calling from San Diego.

You want CBS Sports Radio? They are. You're exactly right about the ballparks. One of the thing that's happening is, you know, the the property is so hard to get. So they're moving into industrial areas. And so they're stretching out. They're stretching out more into homeless areas, taking up that ballpark area. I mean, San Diego is no different from San Diego. Everybody wants a San Francisco. Everybody downtown ballpark.

And there you go. Now you're in areas where you've got homeless and you know, they just have to live with the fact that that's what's going to happen. I don't think it's and thank you, Jim, for calling from San Diego. I don't think it's moving into an area where there's where there's homeless. I think if we look at the economy just in a general sense all over the country and you think about just major downtown areas where people aren't necessarily going to work. You have a former office buildings now being converted into residences. It's we only three years out of the what was a terrible time with the pandemic.

But I don't think there's a one size fits all. I mean, earlier this week, we learned and all my folks in D.C. know about this. Monumental Sports and Tetley Ownsis, which pretty much owns both the Wizards and the Capitals, they have an arena downtown.

It's in Chinatown in D.C., Capital One, MCI Center, all of these years, whatever it's called. They're deciding to move. They want to move north into Alexandria.

They want to move north into the burbs. I mean, for years up in Detroit. I mean, Detroit just built an arena downtown. They had two of them. And forever, people would have to trek out to the palace out in Auburn Hills.

So there's there's not a one size fits all. Are we going to move towards a time in an era where, you know, teams are going to move their stadiums, the arenas back out out of the burbs? Maybe possibly just pitch something in the middle of nowhere into a patch of grass and make people drive there? Maybe, for instance, Chicago Bears right now, Chicago Bears are playing downtown. At least they playing on the on the lakefront. Where the hell are they going to move? They're going to move them into the burbs. It's a possibility.

They're going to sit them at a racetrack. Possibly. It's just tough, especially on the professional side. Anywhere that you go, you're going to have problems. You want to know why? We got problems all over the place. There's not one place that's perfect. No place. 855-212-4CBS.

That's 855-212-4CBS. Speaking of not being perfect, we're going to take a break. And when we come back on the other side, we're going to hear from Ja Morant. We know he ain't perfect. He has made a lot of mistakes and he is going to return next week. He spoke to the media today. And did he learn his lesson?

Did he learn anything? Well, we'll hear it from his own mouth on the other side of the break. I'll get to more of your calls as well. It's the J.R. Sport Brief show on CBS Sports Radio. You are listening to the J.R. Sport Brief on CBS Sports Radio. Yes, sir.

How are you doing? Nice to talk to you. I've been locked into you ever since I got Sirius XM satellites. Call in now at 855-212-4CBS. Thank you to everybody locked in on Sirius XM channel 158.

Thank you very much. It is the J.R. Sport Brief show on CBS Sports Radio.

We've talked a lot so far tonight about people who have been given the boot, who've been fired, who might be leaving. Well, we got a guy in the NBA who's getting ready to return. He's one of its most marketable stars. Unfortunately, I think he may have to do some work on that. And his name is John Moran. We all know about his issues playing with guns, playing with fake guns, participating in a civil trial right now for punching a 17 year old during a pickup basketball game on his property. John Moran over the past year and change has just been a participant in a series of unfortunate events of which he has showed just a clear lack of maturity. And so he's been suspended for the past 25 games dating back to last season. We know there was a suspension prior to that the first time with eight games. We know that he did the counseling after showing off the guns at the strip club. All of this even sounds ridiculous to talk about. And we also know that he's in the middle of a contract right now. Just started.

This dude is going to be getting about five years, 200 million dollars, and he's been acting like a complete ass. And so the Memphis Grizzlies, that pretty much describes how they've been performing out on the basketball court. They have a record of six and 18. A matter of fact, tonight, the Houston Rockets beat them 103 to 96.

So they fall to six and 18. Dylan Brooks, we know that he ended up being, I don't want to say the scapegoat. He just talked his way out of town. Dylan Brooks returned as a member of the Rockets. He had 26 points tonight, including the dagger three.

The Rockets gave him, I think, about four years, 80 million dollars to maybe just to show the Rockets how to be tough a little bit. I guess it'll be a matter of time before Dylan Brooks is being an ass again, too. But John Moran, he spoke to the media today. He's eligible to return on Tuesday against the New Orleans Pelicans.

And John Moran, yes, he spoke to the media and he said quite a few things. First of all, yeah, me being away from the team, I feel guilty. I feel terrible because we suck. Obviously, nobody likes losing.

So, you know, our job is to, you know, go out there and get a win. I take full responsibility of that. Obviously, even though I'm not on the floor, you know, the decisions I made didn't allow me to be out there, you know, to go to battle with my team. OK, so you've been gone for a minute.

Your team sucks. What the hell you've been doing, man? How are you going to change? What's what's taking place? Listen to this. Therapy. Learning from, you know, me. Obviously, I feel like I learned some stuff about myself that, you know, I didn't during that process. Very eye opening.

Kind of gave me a, you know, a new look, you know, life with, you know, how I go about my days, how I carry myself, you know, just being grateful and thankful, you know, that I'm still here and in the position that I'm in. What? Look, I don't know what this man is discussing in therapy. No more than I know what Draymond Green is going to discuss in his counseling.

I have no idea. There comes a point in time. A lot of it seems like a cop out. A lot of it seems like just checking the box. Yeah, I think any normal human being who lives and has the human experience at one point in time could probably benefit, you know, through some type of counseling or therapy just to kind of talk to a professional and walk through your thoughts and ideas and and just look at things from a different perspective.

But for a lot of these dudes who just act out, act wild, act crazy, I think there's a point where it's just like, well, are your actions going to back it up? And then John Morant, that's that's what we have to see next. And so he said as well, you know, what's going to be different?

This is what he was asked. I can't go away from being John. I feel like that's the most important thing, you know, not trying to lose myself or, you know, be somebody that I'm not or, you know, act totally different. But the change will be, you know, to my decision making and, you know, how I go about my daily life of being, you know, a NBA player, you know, a father, a role model, a brother, a son.

Just, you know, focusing in on that, you know, being, you know, the best job can be. All right. He went even further and he pretty much said, hey, listen, everything I'm saying up here. It doesn't matter unless my actions back it up.

And he is 100 percent correct. There's not going to be no turnaround for the Grizzlies this year. The Memphis Grizzlies are in store for just a whole lot of nothing. This is a matter of a reset. I'm pretty sure they'll go on a run. Maybe the best that they can do is maybe get into the plan if they go on a streak. But this year isn't out.

And you could think John Morant and his behavior for it. We know Draymond Green is dealing with his own situation. He's suspended indefinitely. We have no idea when Draymond Green is going to be back.

I just hope that we get a slowdown right now. There was a point in time where if you were just acting wild and acting crazy. You got suspended.

You know, there was no publicized. Counseling. It's just this was your behavior. This was your punishment. And you went away.

Now you go away. And counseling and I guess a pat on the back and digging into your inner thoughts are a part of the return. I just find it to be a cop out. We got enough people in the world dealing with with problems. And yes, professional athletes deal with their problems, too. They are human beings.

But I think at times it's a little bit too, you know, too much of a hug and not enough of a punishment. It's the JR Sport Brief Show here with you on CBS Sports Radio 8 5 5 2 1 2 4 CBS. That's 8 5 5 2 1 2 4 CBS. Let's go ahead and talk to Michael. He is calling from Charlotte. You're on the JR Sport Brief Show. Yeah, JR. Thanks for taking my call, brother.

Sure. What's up? If you don't mind, I want to back up and talk about San Francisco and their bad rap.

You know, I was born in Philadelphia, grew up in New Jersey and live in Charlotte, North Carolina. But I'm a long time San Francisco giant fan. And this June Holy signing, man, it's not only going to be good for San Francisco and its image as well as the whole major leagues. I mean, this young guy is really bringing personality. He cares about his image and putting on a performance for the fans. We can only we can only hope, Michael.

Thank you for calling from Charlotte. Ain't no guarantees. Who's seen him play? You sitting around watching KBO baseball. Hey, shop, you ever seen this dude swing a bat?

No, I have not. Yes, I don't know how we could say such a thing. I've seen highlights, but I mean, come on. What are we doing? We're going to say he's saving baseball. Was is he going to be Ichiro?

Like, and who would have thought Ichiro would have came over and did what he did? I'm rookie of the year. I'm MVP in the first season.

If we should be so lucky, that would be the case. Mike is calling from California. You're on CBS Sports Radio. Hey, Jr. Thank you for taking my call. I appreciate it. Sure. I actually was calling about Draymond Green Jr.

But you kind of hit a nerve with the last few callers. I live about 40 minutes from San Francisco. I'm 61 years old.

I've lived here my whole life. I've been fortunate enough to have season tickets to the Giants and the Warriors and the 49ers all at the same time. But about five years ago, I decided not to renew my Giants tickets. And when the Warriors left Oakland, I did not renew my tickets to go to San Francisco. There's a lot of things I think in life when you feel like maybe if you're paying a lot of taxes or you're giving a lot of investment in something, you want to be able to see a return.

And I think a lot of players, it's many, many facets. But when you're paying the high taxes in California or New York, you want to be able to feel safe where you go to work. I had two occasions where me and my wife were robbed walking from the baseball game to our car.

So it was a big in my and unfortunately, my daughter, who works inside City Hall of San Francisco, had a knife stuck to her just a few years ago when she was getting out of the bar train. So this is when they say perception is reality. I think in San Francisco's case, if you're not been around here lately, you don't realize it. And what really tells you is when the rubber meets the road, thousands of businesses and corporations are leaving this city. And we're now at about a 50 percent office vacancy for all the millions of square feet of office space in San Francisco. We're at a 50 percent occupancy that tells you right there what the perception and the reality of the city is. So let me ask you this.

When you got to look at it from a warrior's perspective and you look at it from a giant's perspective, they are right there downtown, right on the water. What do you think? We're in store for 20 years of crap. Well, I think, J.R., the problem is if we had in our mind, you know, I don't want to be political about it, but when you have what it doesn't matter if it's a Democratic or a Republican city or whatever.

But when you have leadership that doesn't want to acknowledge that there is a problem when that means it never gets any better. And I think when you're making one thing about the kid today, this time with the Giants, I watched the press conference. I thought he had a lot of personality. The reason why the Giants got him is they paid him 40 million dollars more than what somebody else offered him. It was a huge overpay. Yeah, that's that's what I'm asking you. I'm asking you, what do you think the next 10 to 20 years will look like for the two teams that played downtown in San Francisco? Do you think this is going to have even more of effect, more of an effect into the future? I think if you're going to pay these types of taxes that these athletes pay when they come to a state like New York or or California, you better have some quality of life that offsets it. And if all is equal, you're probably going to go somewhere else. So I believe, yes, until there's some type of change to where you feel safe walking in where you work or going. I mean, some of a lot of the Giants and the Warriors don't even live in San Francisco. They live outside. That was they live outside of the city that you still hold on, Mike. Mike, thank you for calling from California.

Hold on. That was going to be my point about New York. I mean, outside of I mean, the New York Yankees play in the South Bronx, the New York Yankees literally have Yankee Stadium in the poorest congressional district in the entire country. I haven't ever heard anything about the Yankees. The Yankees pull into Yankee Stadium into the garage for the stadium and they pull out and they leave.

They go into Manhattan, they go into Westchester, they go over the bridge into New Jersey. I think that's the case in a lot of cities. A lot of the players who who play for the local teams, they don't they don't play or live across the street. A lot of the practice facilities for security reasons and not just security because the city is a is a dump.

But they're in the burbs. You know, it's not necessarily that you're going to have, you know, X, Y, Z player just randomly walking down the street. It's it's a disturbance.

You get a little bit more peace and quiet. And it has to do more with being a celebrity that it has to do with any type of crime. And I certainly hope that San Francisco can can kind of turn things around and be on the up and up.

But my point overall is it's not the only city, you know, dealing with that type of issue. Eight five five two one two four CBS is eight five five two one two four CBS. As I talk about superstars right now, it's actually shocking. Devin Booker and Durant and Bradley will Bradley Beal was playing and then he got hurt again. Anyway, we're going to talk about another star, Victor when Benyama played tonight against LeBron James.

The Spurs actually won. I'm going to get some more of your calls. We'll talk about that. We're going to get into some of the football games we got going on tomorrow. It's the JR Sport Brief show on CBS Sports Radio. You're listening to the JR Sport Brief on CBS Sports Radio. What's going on, big brother truck driver? I've been looking at you for a few months now. I respect what you do. I like it, man.

Call in now at eight five five two one two four CBS. Much love to all the truck drivers out there, especially this time of the season or this time of the year. Man, where you where you think Santa is or who do you think Santa is?

Amazon, UPS, FedEx, USPS, Walmart, Wally World, Target. I mean, I can go on and on and on. Shout outs to everybody moving everything out there on the roads. Everything in your house came off of a truck.

Eight five five two one two four CBS is eight five five two one two four CBS. We've already talked about a lot tonight. Brandon Staley fired as head coach of the same or excuse me, the Los Angeles Chargers. We talked about some other NFL head coaches potentially on a hot seat. We know about Bill Belichick, Ron Rivera, Matt Eberfluse, Jung Hoon Lee, newest member of the San Francisco Giants joining from the Korean Baseball League. And then I told you right before the break that Ja Morant is back. He's going to be returning on Tuesday for the Memphis Grizzlies and the Grizzlies lost tonight to the Rockets.

They are a complete mess without Ja Morant. And we we did have we got a lot of basketball games going on. One game that did complete already tonight was kind of hyped up and built up on ESPN. And it was the Los Angeles Lakers taking on the Spurs. The Spurs beat them one twenty nine to one fifteen. Yes, this was a matchup between LeBron James and Victor when Benyama of the Spurs, they snapped an 18 game losing streak. It was no Anthony Davis today. He got a night off the Spurs and Lakers played a few nights ago. The Lakers won that game. Anthony Davis and when Benyama went back and forth, LeBron didn't participate in that game, got a night off with what they called a leg bruise. LeBron finished tonight with twenty three points and 14 assists. Victor when Benyama, he had 13 points and 15 rebounds. And Devin Vassal, he had a career high 36 points for the San Antonio Spurs.

And Vassal, he spoke after the game. And of course, after a career high 36 points, he was feeling pretty good. Listen to this. I think in the beginning, my three was falling. And then really third quarter, second quarter when it wasn't just getting to the basket. So at the end of the day, I feel like I'm a scorer, not just a shooter. So at the end of the day, just got to score at all three levels. Three is not falling.

Get to the cup and just stay aggressive. All right. Who cares about him? Let's hear from the guy that everybody knows, LeBron James. We're healthy. We're one of the better teams in the league. When we're not, you know, we pass him some ups and downs.

So I've said it over and over. We're healthy and we have our group and we compete versus anybody. Well, got healthy. It's just it's crazy to listen to LeBron James talk about being healthy. He's the oldest dude in the league. Going to be 39 years old on the 30th. And he's telling people that we need to be healthy.

That's crazy. Shep, how many how many more years of LeBron you think we got? Three, four more years of this dude?

I'd say probably until the second son starts playing. So that's three. Oof.

Damn. What in a slowdown? It's going to come a point in time. And I guess for LeBron James, a slowdown will be, hey, instead of being 25, eight and eight, I'm going to be 20, you know, five and five, which is still going to be ridiculous for a dude running around at that point in his 40s. So let's see what the Lakers do throughout this season. LeBron James just he's he's he said he's trying to give father time the first knockout.

So let's see what LeBron does. Eight, five, five, two, one, two, four. CBS Jamie is calling from Georgia.

You're on the JR sport ratio. What's up, Jamie? Hey, how are you doing tonight? Excellent. What's on your mind?

I was calling about the John Moran take. So I'm from Memphis, Tennessee, originally was there when the team moved there and everything graduated. Do you think with his coming back to the team and due to some of the injuries that we've had to Stephen Adams, Brandon Clarksville with the Achilles, do you think I know you said maybe plan, but with him being back in the fold, possibly being like a playoff or a sleeper team being sneaky because we're so bad right now? No, I think this season is a wash. I don't care if they even get any type of lucky to get close enough to a play in. This is a wasted season for the Grizzlies.

And I think there's too much of an adjustment. I mean, we saw Dylan Brooks hit the game winning or let's say dagger three tonight. There is an adjustment without him being there. And he did contribute to the team.

I know his shooting numbers at the end of the year and last season. He was great. But you got to give him credit. He wasn't just a complete bum out there on the floor as an overall. And so he was a stopper. I think losing I think losing Tyus Jones hurts us big time. And like Marcus smarts, a good upgrade in a in a regard, but he doesn't play.

I mean, he didn't necessarily he was always this is let me let me just get to the point here. And you said it. There were injuries. You know, do I think Derek Jones or excuse me, Derek Rose versus Tyus Jones?

Are you losing or gaining anything there? Well, look, Derek Rose is somebody that can also be hurt. So all things considered, I don't think they have enough warm bodies.

I don't think they'll have enough continuity to do anything this season. This is a wash for the Grizzlies. Okay. Fair enough. Well, I appreciate you taking my call, my friend.

Certainly, Jamie, thank you for calling from Georgia. I think they might go on a run. I think they might make people go, oh, my God, look at the Grizzlies.

But in the big picture, man, they doing nothing. Too many of them dudes are hurt. Derek Rose, I love him. You won't count on Derek Rose to stay healthy.

Hamstring is sore. Come on, Marcus smart when Marcus smart was in Boston. This dude played so hard that there would always be an issue.

There'd always be something wrong with him. This guy's dealing with a foot issue. He's been dealing with a foot issue for a long time. Feel like half the season he's missed. Steven Adams, we found out earlier this year, he ain't playing a whole year at all. The Grizzlies stink. John Moran coming back ain't going to save them.

I'm sorry about that. He'll come back. He'll be exciting.

He'll sell shoes and he'll dunk and he'll fly through the air and little kids will love it. But come on, Memphis Grizzlies ain't one of them teams. Come on. Injuries all over the place. I know for all the technology that we have, athletes can get hurt and and come back in record time.

But it seems like they get hurt all the time, too. Can't avoid that now, can we? 855-212-4CBS.
