If you're not, well, I hope things change. OK, look, tonight things are maybe in the process of changing for the Green Bay Packers. Monday Night Football is a wrap. And tonight the Green Bay Packers, they beat the Los Angeles Rams at home.

The final score 24 to 12. Talk about the game momentarily, what this means for both teams moving forward, what this means for potential playoff implications. I got you covered. I'm being joined by super producer and host Dave Shepherd and I'm being joined by you. Everybody listening all over North America. A big shout outs to everybody tuning in to the Monday Night Football game and now hearing me. Thank you very much.

If you want to holler at me, it's real simple. We got a phone number. It's 855-212-4CBS.

It's 855-212-4CBS. You can find me online. I'm on social media everywhere.

That's at JR Sport Brief. So whether you are listening in Wisconsin, California, Oregon, Maine, Portland, both of them down in Florida, whether you're here with me in Atlanta, Georgia, out in Texas, Kansas, I don't care where you're at. I appreciate you. And let's have some fun here over the next two hours. Let me give you a brief summary of this game tonight. I was able to watch the entire first half before I went on air. And then I was able to watch and you know, with a discerning eye, the second half of the game while I was here with you on air. Don't be fooled by the score. Okay, yeah, it's 12 points.

So you wouldn't think this was absolutely amazing. It was 15 degrees in Green Bay. And the Packers whooped their ass. It's really that simple.

There's there's there's nothing else I can say here for you. If you have to think about the only touchdown scored by the Rams that came in the third quarter, Baker Mayfield connecting with Tyler Higbee, but they abused Baker Mayfield tonight. Abused him. An interception, a forced fumble. They sacked Baker Mayfield five times. He was hit nine other times. Five of his passes were deflected.

And this is how bad it was. This is Baker Mayfield's final stat line for the night. Completing 12 of 21 passes. 111 yards. He threw that touchdown I told you about and that interception and I'll tell you again, he was sacked five times.

If you're into all the fancy numbers and stats, his QBR rating for tonight was 16. They didn't do too much better on the ground. Los Angeles Rams only able to rush for 72 yards in the Green Bay Packers at home 15 degrees against the California team.

It didn't take them too long to, you know, start start moving things along. Mason Crosby was able to go out there and and open up the game with a field goal. The Rams were able to answer with a field goal in the second quarter.

It was 3-3. And after that, the Green Bay Packers, they faced a fourth down situation. They decided to go for it.

They got it. They were able to proceed to move on and score the first touchdown of the game. And you could thank AJ Dillon for that, scoring on an eight yard run with about four minutes left in the first half.

Take a listen to it, courtesy of the Packers radio network. The Los Angeles Rams were able to answer that with, guess what, another field goal in the second quarter right before we went to half. And so Green Bay led ten to six. There's still hope here for the Los Angeles Rams.

But if you watch the game, it didn't feel like there was too much hope. And it dissipated quickly by the time they got to the third quarter, because what you just heard was an AJ Dillon eight yard run in the second and the third. It took them about seven, eight minutes, and he was able to punch in another score. Here's AJ Dillon in the third. Sixteen to six, they kicked the extra point.

It was seventeen to six. And then Aaron Rodgers said, you know what, we just can't hand the ball off to AJ Dillon for every single score. And so Aaron Rodgers said, you know what, let me get in on some of this action.

This is Aaron Rodgers going out there and connecting with Aaron Jones. And then they proceeded to go out there and kick the extra point again, making the final score twenty four to six. I told you about the meaningless Baker Mayfield touchdown. That pretty much answered that and made the score twenty four to twelve.

And at that point, that was your final score. We had no points in the fourth quarter, but we certainly did have more more abuse by Baker Mayfield. I told you that Baker Mayfield was sacked five times tonight. Baker Mayfield was hit nine additional times tonight. And then Preston Smith, he was able to get his hands on Baker Mayfield twice.

And this pretty much was him having a time of his life. This was Preston Smith's second sack. Take a listen. Mayfield looks it over. Under center. Stack to the right. In motion off that stack. Atwell to the left. Mayfield play action. Deep drop.

Steps up. Hit by Smith. And covered up back outside the forty five yard line.

Preston Smith again. Yeah, the Packers, they were able to just take care of this game. This game, to be honest, it was it was boring unless you were a Packers fan. I mean, if you're a Rams fan, I guess. Hey, Shep, how many fans do the Rams have? Like real fans?

Five? More than the Nets. The Brooklyn Nets? Yes. OK. So you're right. Everybody in New York is a Nick fan except for the five Nets fans. Right. And then on the West Coast, I guess they just they put a football team there. They put two there just to have them. And so if you're a Rams fan, you probably didn't even want to watch this.

All three of them. For Green Bay, they're still alive. The Green Bay Packers have now improved their record to six and eight. This is the Packers second straight win.

Aaron Rodgers has now won nine straight games on Monday Night Football. And the Packers, they they they got some signs of life here. They got the Dolphins up next. Not going to be easy. They have the Vikings up next.

Not going to be easy. And in the Green Bay Packers, they finish up their season by hosting the team that is directly in front of them in the playoff picture right now. The Detroit Lions, who stand at seven and seven after defeating the New York Jets yesterday up at MetLife Stadium. So the Packers got something to kind of live for. Aaron Rodgers, as usual, looking perturbed earlier on.

Throwing in interception on a miscommunication to Allen Lazard and looking mad and, you know, being flustered and rolling his eyes and looking ticked off. You know, it's it's very rare to see Aaron Rodgers look thrilled on a football field. But, you know, after the game, at least Aaron Rodgers had something to be happy about. The Green Bay Packers have a chance to to continue to roll on, get into the playoffs and see where the chips may fall if they went out. Meanwhile, for the Los Angeles Rams tonight, this is just a continuation of what has been a poor season. This has been a continuation of the worst season that we have ever seen from a defending Super Bowl champion. The Rams now have the most losses by any defending Super Bowl champion at 10. And the season's not over yet.

They've officially been eliminated from the playoffs. Jalen Ramsey is pretty much the only star still left out there to play. Aaron Donald hurt. Cooper Cup hurt. Matthew Stafford bruised, bruised spinal cord, whatever they're calling it. I don't even know if I want to call that hurt.

I'll call it concerning. Did I mention Cooper Cup basically name everybody worth a damn on the Rams, including their offensive line. And they are either retired or hurt. And so the Rams just they can't wait for this season to end to actually wait for the bleeding to stop. And the Packers, they are just trying to stay alive right now. It's the first time Green Bay has won back to back games for the first time since week two to four. So certainly an up and down season, up and down year for the Green Bay Packers as they they try to make some noise. Playing up at Lambeau opposing team coming in from Los Angeles certainly doesn't doesn't hurt. And I feel kind of about their playoff chances. This sounds weird to say we discussed this right before the break. It almost sounds dirty.

It sounds backwards to say. The Lions are in a better position than than Green Bay right now. You think about the strength of schedule.

I don't need to be a mathematician. I don't need to look at winning percentages. The Lions next games are against Carolina. Chicago. And then the Lions finish up their year up in Green Bay.

I get it. It's the Lions. Are they going to win three more games to finish out the year? I would say that the Lions are probably going to lose one of these games, but let's make it interesting. Give me the Lions in Green Bay. Final game of the season. Everything on the line. Final playoff spot.

Sign me up for it. I'll tune in for it. 8 5 5 2 1 2 4 CBS.

It's 8 5 5 2 1 2 4 CBS. Paul is here from Rhode Island. Hey, Paul, you're on the JR Sport Reef show. Thank you, JR.

Commander JR. I've been waiting a long time for my Lions to make it. And. You know. Let's be honest. Rogers was awarded in that division, just like Brady was.

But I'm going to tell you. I want to nominate the officiating crew. And I know I talked bad about the Zieber brothers in the NFL. I want to nominate this crew. It has nothing to do with those two teams that I don't like.

But I want to nominate them to go to the Super Bowl as an officiating crew. Do I have that right? As a buyer of the product? You're a buyer of what product? The NFL product?

You're a buyer of it? Yes, sir. No, you don't have no rights. Your right is to give them your money. That's what you.

That's your right. You are right, JR. I need to buy you a steak at Fred and Steve's in Al Bailey's casino here in Rhode Island. Whenever you come down and support your cause, let me know, my brother. Let me know. Does it have to be a steak? I'm going to say something else.

OK, go ahead. One thing for sure. The NFL was unpredictable this year.

But I got to say. What a game. That my Patriots, my second team, my homeland team did this weekend. Oh, they entertained us by being a clown show.

Yeah, they were garbage. Yes, sir. I'm telling you something. What? If you are a kicker, if you are a quarterback, I saw more violence.

The tackle a man that's going to take your breath away. Then my Mac Jones. And I'll leave it at that, my brother. Well, the last time. Thank you, Paul, for calling from Rhode Island.

The last time I saw Mac Jones, he was having his head driven into the turf by Chandler Jones. And that's actually an excellent opportunity. We played this to open up the show because we talked about what a crazy sports weekend it was. But you brought it up.

Why not? Any time that you could make fun of Bill Belichick, you do it. Any time that you can kick the Patriots when they're down, you do it.

They've had so much success. We're not used to the Patriots being, I don't know, how can I describe them? You know what?

I won't describe them. I'll let you hear the Patriots own broadcasters call them one of the dumbest teams he's ever seen yesterday after they decided to just pitch the ball all over the place, lateral the ball, throw it backwards. And then we watched Jacoby Myers throw the ball to the Mac Jones. And then Chandler Jones says yoink and he just just runs it in for a touchdown when all of that garbage was unnecessary. Here's the final call when the Patriots screwed that game up yesterday or screwed it up.

Listen. When the fans round the hook and lateral to beat the Patriots several years ago, now in a third and ten three seconds left, Jones will give it to Steven. Sammy started right. He runs it up the middle, hit by Chandler. Jones slips and across the forty five with a stiff arm off a tackle of the forty. He lost the football and Jacoby Myers picks it up. He circles back and he throws it across the field.

He's picked up by Chandler Jones. He breaks away to the thirty. He runs to the twenty. He runs to the ten. He runs to the end zone.

Unreal. Touchdown. Raiders tonight. This might be one of the dumbest teams I've ever seen. Yeah, that's your own guys.

The Patriots Radio Network is one of the dumbest teams I've ever seen. The score was tied twenty for all. All you had to do was take a knee. There was nothing on the clock. You could have ran out of bounds. You could have done a million things just to go directly into overtime and they're scoring like they're in the backyard or they're trying to score like they're in the backyard. They might as well have just handed the ball to the Raiders and said, here, you score so we can go home. That's what you might as well have gotten when Jacoby Myers is looking at Mac Jones. And what are you trying to do?

The reverse flea flicker? What? You want Mac Jones to catch the ball and then do what? Deliver it down the field?

This makes absolutely no sense. Jacoby Myers was asked after the game. Hey, man, the hell you throwing a ball to Mac Jones for? I thought I saw Mac open. I didn't see Chandler Jones at the time. I thought he was open and tried to give it to him and let him try to make a play with it. But the score was tied.

So I should have just gone down for real. Hey, Mac Jones, you the quarterback, man. You the leader here.

You make you make the smart decisions. I'll make the dumb one by trying to throw you the ball. You know, maybe I've missed it. I don't remember Mac Jones ever catching a ball. Bill Belichick after the game, he was asked by the media.

Yeah, we saw that nonsense that went on, Bill. We know you didn't draw that up. But why did you just throw the ball? Why didn't you just go for a Hail Mary? Why didn't you launch the ball 55 yards to try to win the game? And if it didn't happen, then you go into overtime.

Bill Belichick, the curmudgeon, this is what he had to say. Bill, in the final play situationally, how do you wave? What was called as opposed to taking a shot at the end zone? Yeah, like a Hail Mary 55 yards away. Couldn't throw it that far. Yeah, just say Mac Jones has a pea shooter for an arm.

Just say you don't believe in Mac Jones throwing the rock. Thank you, Bill Belichick, for your candor. New England Patriots are hot trash and they're not going anywhere. It's the J.R. sport brief show here with you on CBS Sports Radio. I could tell you exactly where we're going. Aaron Rodgers just finished chatting it up with the media.

So we're going to take a break. When we come back, we will hear from Aaron Rodgers as he talks about his wide receivers. Head Coach Matt LaFleur, he just finished chatting it up with the media as well. We'll hear from him and then I'll take your calls, not just on tonight's Monday Night Football game, but from all the craziness here that we got in this week for the NFL.

855-212-4CBS. It's the J.R. sport brief show. CBS Sports Radio. You are listening to the J.R. sport brief on CBS Sports Radio. You are listening to the J.R. sport brief on CBS Sports Radio. Your show is informative and thought provoking, and I love that about it.

Every chance I get, man, keep it up. It's one of the best shows anywhere. Call in now at 855-212-4CBS. It's the J.R. sport brief show here with you on CBS Sports Radio. This is a game the Packers just dominated over the Rams. 24-12.

15 degrees up in Lambeau. Baker Mayfield making his second start here with the Rams. This is Baker Mayfield's, I guess you want to call it a revival tour, trying to show that he has some type of life. But, yeah, it looked nice on the first time, the comeback. But tonight he was abused, man. 12 of 21 passes completed, 111 yards passing, one touchdown, one interception. He was sacked five times. He was hit nine times. He had nine passes deflected. Not the best of games for Baker Mayfield. I'm glad that he was able to celebrate in Los Angeles after that first one, and then go out and have some drinks because we don't know the next time that Baker Mayfield is going to feel good about anything.

I think we know that. And so Aaron Rodgers was able to do quite the opposite with the Green Bay Packers tonight. He threw an interception early in the game. Allen Lazard had no idea where the ball was going and they weren't on the same page. Aaron Rodgers threw one touchdown in this game.

A.J. Dillon was able to punch it in for two scores. The Packers overall were able to rush for 138 yards, and they took advantage of Los Angeles. And Aaron Rodgers, he just finished chatting it up with the media. And Aaron Rodgers says, yeah, we took a look at the Rams defense and we ran them out the building.

Listen to this. They played two-show. You know, they played super soft. You know, we were ahead by 12 points in the fourth quarter, and they played a super soft cover, too, you know, when we were running the ball for first down. So, listen, that's the M.O. of the defense.

Wow. Aaron Jones, he rushed for 90 yards. A.J.

Dillon, he had two scores and he only, quote unquote, only rushed for 36 yards. And this is what keeps the Green Bay Packers alive for the rest of the season. Their next opponent will be the Miami Dolphins. They'll take on the Vikings.

And as I told you, it would be a dream scenario for me. I'd love to see it. They host the Detroit Lions in the final game of the season.

Hopefully that game means a whole hell of a lot of something by the time we get there. 855-212-4CBS. Chris is calling from Rhode Island. You're on the J.R. sport reshow. Go ahead, Chris. Hey, Chris, you alive? I guess Chris is no longer alive. Jason is calling from Cleveland. You're on CBS Sports Radio. Thanks, J.R. Question about the 49ers.

Do you really? They're obviously the hot item, but if they can get it done with Purdy, a third string quarterback, I mean, that's got to be one of the most remarkable feats for a coach as far as, you know, a system working. And, you know, it's all about the defense.

And granted, their offense, they got a weapons score. But still, for them to be getting this much shine and having their, what, Mr. Irrelevant or whatever, you know, that's something else. It would be one of the greatest accomplishments that we would have seen in the NFL. I mean, let's also be honest here.

We've seen some wild things take place. I'm not going to say, and this is not a comparison of players. This is a comparison of where the hell did this guy come from? Tom Brady was a where the hell did this guy come from? And he is the greatest and most accomplished quarterback that we've seen here in the Super Bowl era. OK, we could talk about Purdy being a third string quarterback. There was a point in time where dude who played in the I believe the AFL, he played in NFL Europe.

He came back to the United States of America. Trent Green goes down and he becomes a Hall of Famer and wins the Super Bowl and then is able to take another team to a Super Bowl. And that guy's name is Kurt Warner.

And so it's always and this is the beautiful thing. This is always the cool thing when you get unlikely stories. And so, yeah, is it is it unlikely that that Purdy can help take the the Niners to the Super Bowl all the way to the Super Bowl? Yeah, it's it's unlikely he's going to be along for the ride if they go.

I don't think they're handing him over the keys and saying, hey, man, take us all the way to the promised land. It'd be surprising, but it wouldn't be the first time that I would say we've been surprised as NFL fans. And let's see what Purdy can do the rest of the way.

How about that? If you would have told me before the season before the season started that we would see Brock Purdy in the playoffs before we would see Aaron Rodgers, I'd go Brock who? But that's why they play the games, right? Trey Lance, Jimmy G, Brock Purdy.

It's a wild world that we live in. It's the JR Sportbrief show here with you on CBS Sports Radio eight five five two one two four CBS. That's eight five five two one two four CBS. When we come back, I want you to hear from head coach of the Green Bay Packers, Matt Lafleur. Aaron Rodgers had some kind words.

I believe they're kind words for his wide receiver group. And then I'm going to take more of your calls. If you can't call, you can tweet me at JR Sportbrief. You're listening to the JR Sportbrief on CBS Sports Radio. What is happening, JR? I've been listening to you for a good little while now. I've called it a couple of times, man. The most sensational voice on the radio is you, JR Sportbrief.

No doubt about it, man. Call in now at eight five five two one two four CBS. The JR Sportbrief show here with you on CBS Sports Radio.

Twenty four to twelve. Green Bay beats Los Angeles tonight. Green Bay trying to keep their playoff hopes alive.

Three games remaining. They're trying to run the table. They're trying to take on the Lions in the final game of the season. And they're going to try.

Yeah, there's a lot of trying. They're going to try and cement themselves as a postseason contender. Maybe the Packers can turn things around. Aaron Rodgers, grumpy, but slightly less grumpy. The running game was active tonight.

One hundred and thirty eight yards on the ground. And we've seen the emergence of some of their wide receivers, namely the young ones. Christian Watson, who's been getting things together, although he did miss Aaron Rodgers pass. Aaron Rodgers not happy with him tonight, but he did haul in four catches for forty six yards. Romeo Dobbs out there, five receptions, fifty five yards. It's nice to see both of these guys healthy on the field at the same time. And so Aaron Rodgers, I guess you can consider this a compliment. He threw these guys a bone.

Take a listen to this. Christian obviously has incredible speed. Romeo is a real quick twitch guy. Kabi has the savvy to work in the slot. And Allen does everything, you know, does everything well. He's a good route runner, gets to follow his hands. He's a great blocker.

Yeah, I think that's a good, really good set of guys. How about that? This is much different than what Aaron Rodgers was saying earlier on in the season, telling anyone who would listen that these guys need to step it up or they need to get sat down. And God bless Aaron Rodgers.

I guess things have to be a little bit easier right now. I assume that his thumb is healed. We got to remember this man was playing with his hand all wrapped up earlier on in the season. So Aaron Rodgers, a little bit different than what we heard to start the year, actually giving credit to his wide receivers. And the wide outs have to feel a little bit more confidence than where they were to start this year with so much pressure, knowing that Devontae Adams was gone and that Aaron Rodgers was going to be a pain in the ass if things didn't work out.

But now they're trying to make it into the postseason and things are working out for right now. Head coach Matt LaFleur. It's not just the wide receivers that deserve a little bit of credit.

How about someone like Keyshawn Nixon? He's getting an opportunity to go out there and return kicks. He had some electrifying kick returns today.

One of them actually got turned back because of a holding penalty. But Matt LaFleur showing love to Keyshawn Nixon and his ability to return those kicks and put them in a great position to get started. Yeah, no, Keyshawn definitely been a difference maker for us. And I think that was pretty evident tonight, having multiple big plays on those returns. And he plays with, again, another guy that plays with the right mentality. Just he's going to go for it each and every time.

And he's fearless. Aaron Rodgers full of compliments because it didn't just stop there on the wide receiver group. Aaron Rodgers also showed a lot of love to Keyshawn Nixon. He talked about his ability to return these kicks. And he even said, look, it's nice to have a guy on the team that when you kick him the ball, a matter of fact, the other team doesn't even want to kick the ball in his direction. Aaron Rodgers made a quick little comment about that.

Take a listen. In all my 18 years, I've never once until tonight seen an opposing team's kicker kick away from one of our returners on purpose. That's fun.

That's pretty incredible. How about Aaron Rodgers? He's just like Kawhi Leonard, fun guy. Hey, chef, who's more miserable? Is it Kawhi Leonard or Aaron Rodgers? Between Aaron Rodgers and Kawhi Leonard, which superstar is more miserable?

You'd have to say Aaron Rodgers. Kawhi is just more understated and humble. Oh, yeah. Kawhi Leonard doesn't have to take drugs to he doesn't have to go to South America to take drugs to feel better about himself, I guess. No, and he knows how to stay in a committed relationship, too, which helps for happiness and sanity. You're talking about personal relationships?

Yeah, Aaron Rodgers jumps to more relationships than the Kardashians. Oh, I don't I don't know anything besides Danica Patrick. I don't know. Olivia Munn.

Okay, I've heard of that. Sinead something you don't talking about. I don't. Who's in The Descendants?

I don't. Aaron Rodgers? This is an actress you telling me about? Sinead something?

Sinead Woodley. No, I don't know who that is. Well, you're better off.

Oh, thank you. I did meet they were actually this was early on in their dating period. I don't even think it. It came out like right. I met Danica Patrick years ago. And she's she's a very nice, sweet woman, a lot of energy. And I and then I like a week later, it became public that she was dating Aaron Rodgers.

And I said, whoa, that's that's a hell of a combination. I wouldn't have thought so. I mean, what do I know? Aaron Rodgers is someone who I've have I met this man? No, I've never met Aaron Rodgers.

I don't I don't think I would I don't think I would want to anyway. Tells me Aaron Rodgers wasn't in the driver's seat in that relationship. Is that a Danica Patrick joke?

Aaron Rodgers wasn't in the driver's seat. Oh, shep. That was bad. That was terrible. 855-2124 CBS.

And I was I was terrible. Kevin is calling from Louisville. You're on CBS Sports Radio. Maybe Kevin can tell a worse joke. What's up, Kevin? First of all, happy holidays to you and Shep and your families.

OK, thank you so much to you as well. Most miserable man I fell right now is Tom Brady. You were you riding the Shep bandwagon. Yeah. Oh, my God. I thought he was going to break a tablet yesterday. Yeah.

Now, I don't know. I see the Bengals and the Niners in the Super Bowl. I really do. I wouldn't I wouldn't be surprised. You know, my Niners fan, my wife's a Biggles fan and my daughters are the Packers fan.

And she'll always in there. Rodgers cut his hair. But yeah. But I don't know.

It's a crap shot this year. And that's good. The NFL is going to make money. Do their thing. You know, you don't know who's going to win it. I think the Bengals are dominant right now. And the Niners are dominant nearly. What fears my ass? They are.

What is it? The Eagles. The Eagles fear me. I fear the Eagles. Wow.

You should. And we do know this. And thank you, Kevin, for calling from Louisville. If you haven't heard, Jalen Hurts is dealing with a sprained shoulder. There's no guarantee that he's going to play on Christmas Eve against the Dallas Cowboys. And so if you have been waiting anxiously to see Gardner Minshew go out onto the field, and I don't even know if the guy still has the mustache, but if you've been waiting for Gardner Minshew to go out there and play football, you might get it this upcoming Saturday as the Eagles take on the Cowboys. It's a possibility.

It really is. And Tom Brady, is he the most miserable guy in the NFL right now? I would say so.

All things considered. And as Kevin just referenced, the Cincinnati Bengals, they have reeled off six consecutive wins. They did so on Sunday after coming back, beating the Bucks. Tampa led 17 to 3 at halftime. Joe Burrow decided to answer back by throwing four touchdowns in the second half. And Tom Brady had a garbage time touchdown that nobody cared about. And if you want to believe Shep, which is true, and if you want to believe Kevin from Louisville, which is true, Tom Brady is absolutely miserable. He's miserable with the team. He's miserable with the turnovers. He's miserable with the fumbles that helped give Cincinnati a chance to come back. Here, everybody, listen to miserable Tom Brady after Sunday's loss to the Bengals. The two fumbles were, you know, my fault. It was uncharacteristic. You know, one of the interceptions was just a terrible throw.

And the other one, I think I made, I got hit and I was laying on the ground, the ball landed his arm. So, yeah, he's almost, this guy's halfway to 50, almost 50. And he's out there dealing with this crap.

If you want to listen to somebody almost half his age, sound like he's having a good time? It's Joe Burrow. His team continues to win. They're continuing to prove to everybody that going to the Super Bowl last year was not a joke, that it wasn't a fluke.

And this is Joe Burrow. He says, I'm actually proud of my team, not like Tom Brady. Exciting game, but an ugly one that we were able to pull out. And that just goes to show you that, you know, teams like we have, they just find ways to win games. And we keep just talking about it.

And guys just keep stepping up and making big time plays for us. It's Tom Brady. I know if he even looked at his cigarette, he'd probably melt. But he sounds like he's been smoking one, man. He sounds, sounds downtrodden. Terrible.

855-212-4CBS. You know it's bad when Aaron Rodgers sounds happier than you. Jim is calling from Massachusetts. You're on CBS Sports Radio. Hey, how are we doing? We're good. Good. So I'm an executive chef for a hotel and all the teams that play against the Patriots, I'm lucky enough to cook for them.

And a couple of years ago, I had Aaron Rodgers come. And while I was making him a 15 ingredient smoothie, you know, just tried small talk. Hey, how are you? How's the weather? Or, you know, where you guys are at?

How's everything going? Wouldn't even look at me. Wouldn't talk to me. Not a word.

So not the biggest fan. Did he say, did he say, well, he told you what he wanted or did a trainer get it? No, he actually, he told me what he wanted. He, he was the second person in the room at like 6 a.m. with the head coach that he didn't like. I'm not thinking of his name.

Michael McCarthy. Yep, absolutely. They sat on opposite sides of the room and you could just tell that they were not, not looking forward to working together. None of that. So, okay. So, but how does he, so help me out. He comes over and he says, I want, I want oat milk in my smoothie and I need spinach and this and this and that. And then you're, how are you? And he didn't, he just was in his phone or what was going on here? Yeah, no, he walked up. We had like 30 different ingredients there, you know, like... Tell us.

Yeah. What was in Aaron Rodgers' smoothie? Tell us.

So he had dried cherries, he had dried peanut butter, he had spinach, celery, green apples, ice, orange juice, just in about three or four other items. And as I'm, you know, putting it all together, I said, you know, good luck today. Hope you guys, hope you guys do well and nothing. So then I said, you know, how's the, how's, how's home life out, out there and nothing. So finally after that, I said, all right, you know what? And then I just poured a smoothie and said, good luck today.

You're going to need it. And he didn't say thank you? Nope, not a thing.

OK, well, at least now we know what he, what he, what he eats for a smoothie. Thank you, Jim. You're very welcome. Thank you. Appreciate it. Executive chef Jim calling from Massachusetts.

Thank you very much. Hey, chef, is that what you drink? No. Oh. Drink water. Hey, everything that he just named is good.

It comes from the earth. I don't know what else he put in his smoothie. I mean, this is Aaron Rodgers, the breakfast of of a one time champion and a miserable man.

Maybe if he switched up some of those ingredients, he'd he'd feel better about himself. But I know at least tonight Aaron Rodgers feels better. Back is up against the wall. Still an opportunity to go into the playoffs, takes on the Lions in the final game of the season. Yeah, you got to take on the Dolphins and the Vikings before you get there. But at least there's there's some reason there's a sliver of hope here for the Packers and for the Lions.

How about this? Sixth win in their last seven games after starting the season one and six. It'll be hilarious if the Lions go into the playoffs and Aaron Rodgers and the Packers have to watch from home. Absolutely ridiculous. It's the J.R. sport show here with you on CBS Sports Radio. Speaking of ridiculous, watching from home is a guarantee that this team will.

It's the Rams, Sean McVeigh, Baker Mayfield. They just finished talking. We'll hear from them.

I'm going to take your calls as well. 855-212-4CBS is the J.R. sport show. Many of us are already planning our New Year's resolutions to work out more in 2023.
