What they did to the New York Giants who.

Some of their players can't even show up to work on time. We got Satake staying at BYU. We heard from some of the other coaches who have switched jobs, not named Lane Kiffin, like John Summerall on his way to Florida. We've had a busy, busy show. And if you want to participate in the show.

You can do that too. Here's the phone number, 888-710-4ISN. That's eight eight eight seven ten. Four. I S And You can find me online.

I exist everywhere. At JR is sport brief. 888-710-4ISN. That's 888-710-4ISN. We have paid our phone bill.

Everything works? You can use that number to go ahead and call us.

Okay. Man, this is crazy. Botcha, I gotta, I'm in Atlanta. Shout out to our producer Botcher, Ryan Botcher, in New York City. Off the top of your head.

How old is Carlos Boozer? Uh forty three.

Okay. Yeah, that sounds. Reasonable. Yeah, yeah. You he just turned forty-four.

Look at you, Bacha. He turned forty four right before Thanksgiving. He turned forty four. Uh November yeah, November twentieth, he just turned forty-four. LeBron James is going to be what 41?

At the end of the month. 41 and still going. LeBron is going to be 41 and still going. Huh. Carlos Boozer, I'm going to and this is a lot off the top of my head.

We're going to figure out how good or bad of a sports broadcaster I am. I'm going to say off the top in Bacha, go ahead. It's quiz me. This was Carlos Boozer was a two or three time All-Star. In the NBA, correct?

Two times, yes, you nailed it. Look at me, okay. Carlos Boozer, if I had to think about his career, you got his stats open in front of you? I do. Career stats, or like just that's simple.

Hey, just I'll give you the numbers you tell me if I'm right or wrong. I'm gonna say that for his career. Carlos Boozer was probably in the 18.9 rebound range. You're close sixteen ten. Sixteen and ten.

Okay, yeah. I was yeah, I was right there. I knew he wasn't a A full-time 2010 guy. What is his best season scoring? What did he do?

24 points, maybe? 23? Uh best season 21. Oh, yeah, 21. twenty twenty one best rebounding year.

Did he ever get past ten or was it nine? Best rebound was 11.4. Seven. Hit 11.

Okay, wow. He was a good player. Had a solid career. Damn it. We just.

Were you here, Bach? I just spoke to Carlos Boozer. What? I don't know. Were you here when I spoke to him?

I was not here.

Okay, so I I spoke to him probably at the end of last year. And I'm sure by now you've heard about his twins who are at Duke. We have uh Cameron and and Caden.

Now Cameron is one of the best prospects in all of basketball. He's expected to be a one, two or three pick. In next year's draft. And then Caden, his his his other son, Is the twin who didn't get the height, okay? Cameron is like six nine, six eight.

And Caden is a guard size. Excuse me. That's a. Botch, you can't say that now, huh? You get in trouble for saying that?

Yeah, no.

Okay. Will I be in a newspaper tomorrow? No. All right. I dumped it just in case.

Okay. Well, thank you. Uh he's a smaller guy. He's a smaller fellow. He is six foot.

four six foot three Now I can imagine if he was six foot nine he'd be out there running up and down the court. Uh as well. And so he's not the same type of prospect. He's not one of the best players in college. If the Duke Blue Devils end up going to the Final Four again, what else is new?

It'll probably be on the back. of uh Cameron Boozer Right now. And so it's just nuts to think Carlos Boozer, Who's been retired now for, I don't know, when did he leave? In 18, 19, or something like that? When was he done?

Boozer was done in 20 14, 2015. Get at what? Yeah. His last year was at the Lakers, and he played, actually, he played a lot of games, 71 games. Carlos Boozer was done 10 years ago?

Yes. Oh my god. And LeBron James is still I was looking at it. His all-star year was 2006, and that was only LeBron's third year. Wait, wait, wait, wait.

Boozer's last all-star game was 2006? His last all-star was 2007, 2008 that season.

So 2008, Boozer was an all-star. Still on the jazz. Yes, on the jazz. And he was done in what year? 15, 16?

15, 2015. Wow. Boozer's been out of the NBA for a decade now. Oh my god Oh man, he's been gone a decade and now his son is out here playing. And Boozer is only Three years older?

And okay, LeBron didn't go to college. We understand that. Boozer went to school. I think he was in Duke for what, two years? I don't know.

Maybe a year. I don't remember. But the fact is LeBron James is about to be forty one. He's still playing. His kid is already in the NBA.

We know Bronnie is not all that good yet. Maybe he'll never be good. And then we got Carlos Booza sitting in the stands. He's watching his son at Duke. And there's a good chance that his son will go to the NBA.

And he might be just as good or or better. Than Carlos Booza. It's just absolutely nuts when you put a lot of this timing and whatnot into perspective. It's equally as bananas. When you think about LeBron James, as I said, he's still going.

He's about to be forty one years old. But maybe Father Tom is actually catching up then because last night LeBron sucked.

So there's no better way to put it. Last night LeBron sucked. The Lakers took on the Suns.

Now you might recall Everybody's favorite paint in the ass basketball player Dylan Brooks is now on the Suns. Devin Booker, he. I had to exit the game quickly with a growing issue. Ah And so Dylan Brooks said, Hey, I got this. I got 33 points.

And LeBron had a bad game. Ten points. Three assists Zero rebounds in 31 minutes. Matter of fact, they threw him in. At the end of the game, when it was like a 20-point deficit, the game was out of reach.

Just so LeBron could hit a three-pointer. that would extend his streak, of double digit scoring. which has been going on now. Listen to this. for eighteen years.

The last time LeBron James scored less Than 10 points was in 2007. It is 2025. Slap me, okay? And so LeBron, they threw him out there just to get some points. Uh the game before he had to sit out with a foot issue.

The game before that, LeBron James, God bless him, he had a decent game. Every now and then he's going to, you know, I'm not going to say look good. He's just old. It's going to happen. Game before that, LeBron had twenty-five points.

Six rebounds and six assists. We know he doesn't need to go out there and score all the points. That's what you got Luca for. Luca had 38 last night in the loss. LeBron on the season.

Fifteen points. Seven assists a game and four rebounds. That's not 25, 8 and 8 from last year. Th these are not the LeBron numbers that we're used to, but he's He's old. Does he still have the juice?

Or is LeBron James just uh? The cooked LeBron pretty much said Yeah, my foot hurt in the last game. Today I might have sucked. He's like, what do you want from me? I'm old.

I get out the bed and I'm hurting. You were a major Injury report, the left foot injury management. It wasn't Zatika. Did anything happen in the previous game to re-aggravate the stuff you've been dealing with with your foot for the last couple of years, or is it just sort of the stuff you've been dealing with for the last couple of years? Yeah.

It's called old. You get it. You understand. You understand. Just wake up with that you didn't have the night before, you know.

Yeah, you just wake up with stuff you didn't have the night before. Yeah, well this is called just being old. Wake up. Why does my neck hurt? Why does my back hurt?

I just just call being old. It's kind of crazy. This is at one point the youngest guy in the NBA just busting everybody's ass. And he been around so damn long, he's just He's just old. Come on now.

LeBron says, Yeah, we got beat by the Phoenix Suns.

Sometimes you're going to have a terrible night. This is what LeBron said. Listen, that happens. I mean, it's a long NBA season, but we understand that. That's a very good team over there.

They took us out of what we wanted to do and how we wanted to execute, and we have to learn from that.

Okay, well, J.J. Reddick, a little bit more direct, never polite. He just said, We didn't play hard, we sucked. If you don't play hard against that team, you're going to get exposed. multiple times in the first half.

We have a numbers advantage in transition on the defensive end, and guys just run by us. You know, it's it Mm-hmm. We talked about matching their physicality. Didn't do that to any extent. At any point in the game.

Okay, all right.

Well Lakers got the Raptors next. That's a young team. I don't know. You're going to have LeBron running up and down the court against that young squad. We'll see.

It's just going to be interesting to see if LeBron is slowing down. Of course, he is slowing down. One guy who doesn't care is Dylan Brooks. I told you, he had 33 points last night. even had a dunk in any mock LeBron James kind of You know, a shoulder celebration.

And after the game, Dylan Brooks was like, listen, man. I don't care about Nolan LeBron. Obviously, you and LeBron have a history. What was going on in the bench there with you with him and you? Um I'm a competitor, man.

I don't... I don't really like the smiling and the giggling and all that.

So Just letting them know that. You know I'm here and Mm-hmm. I'm still I'm still rising. Was it that so he took offense to you talking to him or because he turned around? He likes people that you know that bow down, I don't bow down, so.

But Yeah. Entices in more, it aggravates it even more.

Okay, and LeBron James wants everybody to bow down and Dylan Brooks is not going to bow down to anybody. And we know that. He I don't think anybody Likes that guy. I don't know if his teammates like him. They may be dealing with him now.

I've never watched an NBA game. I don't care what team it is. He's just aggravating. I mean, I've seen him here in Atlanta just drag Trey Young out of the air straight onto the ground and. He's been a pain in the ass and and for every but he was a pain in the ass with his own team.

Call LeBron James old. Remember, he's with the Grizzlies? That's one of the reasons the Grizzlies said we got to get this guy to help on out of here. That was a few years ago Lebron James was old. He's old now.

All good things got to come to an end. Think about some of the seasons that we've seen. From old guys? John Stockton at his age 40 season. This man still a had.

11 points. Seven assists a game.

Okay? Like he was still rolling. John Stockton, what what are you doing? Age forty. Led the league and assist in his age-40 season.

What world are we in? Michael Jordan was cooked. We wish he didn't play with the Washington Wizards. But even MJ was out there getting 23 a game. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.

He'd give you fifteen points. Six rebounds in his age-40 season. Carl Malone was still out there getting it. thirteen points, non rebounds a game when he was forty. To see a guy like LeBron.

Now at 41, we have no idea what to expect. He's not one of the top top players in the game. You know, maybe he's still playing his way into shape. I know he is. But what are we going to get, and what's the level of consistency?

He is just like a. A test case at this point in time. He's like something. to be studied because we've never seen it before. 24 points, 7 and 7 last year.

It's the best numbers we've ever seen from a guy. at an age forty season.

Now we're in uncharted territory. What the hell is he going to continue to do? And can he last? I'll tell you this much. Even at 41 he's more durable.

Then Zion. Zion is out three weeks.

Okay. He has a hip issue.

Okay. Come on, Zion. Yeah. It's his hamstrings, it's his quads, it's his thighs, it's his hips. Zion, what a disappointment this guy is.

Oh, what a world Zion is hurt. What else is new? It's the J.R. Sport Brief Show here with you, coast to coast, on the Infinity Sports Note. If I were Zion.

I'd be blowing LeBron James phone up. I would have done that a long time ago. Apparently, Zion is more interested in the ladies on Instagram and food than he is basketball.

So maybe he's not interested in. LeBron James and his stretching routine. I guess not. It's the JR Sport Re Show here with you, Coast to Coast on the Infinity Sports Network. LeBron James is old.

All good things got to come to an end, unfortunately, we know that. The New England Patriots, they just got rid of their old quarterback a few years ago. At least he left. in Tom Brady. And now the Patriots have rebuilt.

They got a a younger. Quarterback in Drake May. They got a younger coach in Mike Vrabel.

Meanwhile, the old coach is at North Carolina reluctantly. And Tom Brady is just making money on Fox and playing with the Raiders.

Okay, so when we're going to come back, or we're going to come back. And we're going to have a chat. with Kyle Hightower. We're going to have a conversation about the New England Patriots. who are now eleven and two.

Are they a legitimate threat? to win the Super Bowl. We'll have that conversation with Kyle Howetower on the other side of the break. Covers all things Patriots for the Associated Press in Boston. You're locked in.

The Patriots? No, they're back. Different faces, different quarterback, different coach, younger team. They've gone through the doldrums, but right now, after beating the Giants last night, we're beating them bad. First team to 11 wins, 10 straight victories.

You got one of the best coaches in Vrabel. You got a second-year quarterback in May who's been looked upon as an MVP candidate. And we have teams that appear to be on a little bit of a downside right now, like the Kansas City Chiefs, like the Buffalo Bills, who they're going to take on next. And to talk about these Patriots and where they currently are, where they can go this season and beyond, it's time to have a chat with someone who covers all things Patriots on behalf of the Associated Press in Boston. Welcome to the show, Kyle Hightower.

Kyle, how are you, man? How you doing, J.R.? I'm good. Thank you for the time. Fans in New England had a couple of downseasons, but I guess the grass is green, the flowers are blooming.

I know a snowstorm is coming, but people got to be happy up there, right? Yeah, it's like the uh the reports of the Patriots' demise have been greatly exaggerated, right? Yeah, it didn't take long, right? You think it was going to be a little while for these patriots to. to get back into the mix, but uh lo and behold, uh you know, uh a couple of coaching changes later and uh An offensive quarter around a young quarterback, and bam, the folks and the fans of New England are right back in the mix.

And look staring at a playoff.

Now, who would have thought in just a matter of a year that people would look at Drake May and put him in the MVP conversation? Obviously, we know that there's a different regime from a coaching standpoint. But what has been his his biggest improvements from last year to this year? I think it's all in the playbook and the technical side. You know, that first rookie season.

You know, he had the offensive creditor and Alex Van Pelt, kind of a retread guy who hadn't really done anything major in the league, coming from a down situation in Cleveland where he came from. And he's kind of the mentor of a rookie quarterback in Drake May. And this never really materialized. He didn't really progress in in the in the playbook on the technical side of the NFL. Fast forwards this season, you're bringing back a proven guy and Josh McDaniels, who of course has had tons of success here in New England.

Mentoring and developing and growing with Tom Brady, helping make him the player that he was. And it's his click for him, right? Those two are the pair, you see him to feel better. He's seeing you know, he's seen his progressions better. He knows where to go up the ball.

He's not panicking like he was, like a lot of rookies do, panicking like he was. As a rookie last season, and I think that's materialized into him being able to keep the field a lot better and to make good reads, make good throws, and he's playing free. And it's always showing up on the field and it's translating into wins for the Patriots.

Well, we know someone who is out there are protecting him is Will Campbell, who's now on injured reserve. Is there a chance that we see him back at any point this season at all? Is it too early to tell? I think there's a bit Charlie than Kell. I mean, I mean, thankfully for him.

Um you know, it's reported as you know, uh reportedly a MCL sprain. as opposed to a you know to a full tear of one of the ligaments there. That that's on the on the positive side. Obviously, he's a guy that went around for a long time, so they're not going to push him. And the Patriots, on that note, have been very good about not pushing guys back from injury.

taking care of guys. not you know not rushing guys back into the field My inclination is they're going to be really cautioned with this injury. I think you know, of course. There's still four games left in the season. Obviously, a playoff run is on the horizon.

I think there's a chance he comes back, but I do think that they're coming up with the guys that they brought in. if they have to go the rest of these without them, they will because they want him around through long haul. Kyle Hightower is here with us, covers all things Patriots for the Associated Press in Boston. This is a good thing, Kyle. We really haven't heard a lot.

From Stefan Diggs. And that's typically how things work. what has he meant for the locker room? We see his girlfriend and hanging out in the owner's suite and Cardi B. Like what has Stephon Diggs meant for this offense and then also for Drake May?

I think you hit on a great point there, J.R. You know, there are a lot of questions for Stefan Davis coming on and joining this Patriots team. First is health. Coming off a knee surgery, is he gonna be the same player he was, or have any hints that was the same player he was in Buffalo, in Minnesota? Obviously they didn't really show much in through the Texas last year before the injury.

And two, is he going to be a distraction? Is he going to be a guy in a locker room who's disruptive? The answer to both those questions are have been a little bit unexpected. He's been a great guy in the locker room amongst young players, mid-term young receivers. matched very well with Drayton May, Timothy Drayton Mayer at Seponico now.

And then off the field, you know, he's he's not been in traction now, he's been a bottle. uh model player. You know, he's really you know, ingratiated himself to the New England community. Uh his teammates love him, you know, coaching staff loves him. He's great with us in the meeting.

He speaks his mind. He's being very open. You know, and you know, he's living his kind of his best life in a kind of what I would say would be the unexpected location and landing spot for him, but it's all working. And, you know, for a guy in his 11th. Season now, this season, a veteran guy.

He's embracing the role of that mentor, of that Elder Statement, while still producing on the field. He leads the team in receptions, leads the team in yards. And he started to find the end zone, which he had trouble doing early in the season.

So it's all coming for him at the right time, and it's the perfect time for these Patriots as they make this playoff push. Yeah, the man, everything seems to be coming together. Of these Patriots. Kyle Hightower is here with us, covers the Patriots. This is kind of fast.

I think I don't know anybody who would have said, oh my God, the Patriots would be in front of the Bills as it stands right now. And this is a young team, and a lot of emphasis is paid attention to the names on offense: the Drake Mays, the Stephon Diggs, and whatnot. And then you got a couple of dudes on defense who are national names. Christian Gonzalez, I don't even think people pay a lot of attention to him as much as he should. What are your thoughts on this defense?

Who are some players that the country is going to find out about over these next several weeks as we are on this playoff push? I'm gonna tell you what, last night they found out about Christian Ellis for sure. with that hit on on Jackson Dart. It it's it's gonna be some of the unnamed guys. One of Flight of the Radar kind of veterans who signed in the offseason in free agency was Robert Spillane, another linebacker who has been very steady.

Nothing flashy, nothing too over the top. I'm not going to lie you with his status. He's been steady you know, a steady pregnancy for that defense. The defense is is second, you know, in in the national football game against the run. They've been, you know, he uh Mike Bremen, one of the things he wanted to do this season was want to play fast.

You want to play loose? You know, we want to be aggressive, and they've done those things. They've checked all those boxes, and again, they've stopped the run. Robert Splade's been a great addition. You're talking about, you know, like I said, Chris Nellis has been a good setting president under a new coach.

Um, you know, and then up front, uh, Milton Milton Williams, Milton Williams, he's hurt right now, he's on IR, he's been a big part of that helping stop the run. And a guy, Mission Christian Gonzalez, right beside him, Carlin Davis Jr., Carlin Davis III. It's been a great addition beside him on the other side of the secondary. And again, nothing too flashy about this group, but just solid, consistent play. And they're really holding up and anchoring the offense when they do find themselves in trouble, because this offense has had trouble scoring in the red body times.

Has had trouble starting fast. The defense has been there to kind of help pick them up. and help them really play confidentiality football. Um you're gonna have to clean some things up over these last four games. Thankfully, two of those are against the Miami Dolphins and New York Jets, going to help them kind of really try some things out, really kind of experiment and get themselves ready for the playoffs.

Uh, but is this team playoff ready? I don't think they're quite there yet, despite their record, but I think they do have time to help clean up some things and really uh make it make a deep run and really surprise some people. But it is there are some things to clean up for sure.

Well, you talk about this team first to 11 wins in the regular season. This is a young squad. What is your expectation for these New England Patriots? And what is the fan expectation? Are people in New England, are people in Boston and Massachusetts, are they kind of through the roof about what can happen?

Or where's the reality lie? As good as these Patriot franchises have been, obviously, everyone knows running success they had under Belichick and under Brady. Um you would think this fan base is you know is is is is Um This fan base has an idea, you know, a kind of handicap of where this team could go. I would say this, they're still fans. They're looking at that eleven to two record.

They're looking at a quarterback in May and how well he's playing, looking at Rabel at the top of the at the top of the team there, kind of setting the tone in the locker room. Their expectations are through the roof. They want to see this team make a deep playoff run. They've been hungry for a winner. Ever since Brady left.

And you know, their expectations are probably thinking like AFC championship game, maybe make you react to that Super Bowl. For me, I think this team as far as this team's going to go, it's going to depend on their draw. I'm looking at the stage. I'm looking at a Kennedy City Chiefs team that could win out. All of a sudden, they're a wildcard team, and they're going to be the bottom wildcard team to who they're going to be.

After that wildcard round, a potential matchup with the Patriots to the Patriots, they're number one seed. That's a very scary person. Yeah. First game for the Patriots team should that play out. I think the drawings that matter a lot for this team.

I mean, they can avoid a very tough matchup in that first game. Again, assuming they get to the top seed. I think this team Is on could make the AMC championship game with the right draw. But I think, you know, um As young as they are. young as the quarterback is, we hit first real shot at the playoffs.

I'm kind of tempering my expectations for them. I think your AFG championship is probably the ceiling for them. Uh but again, they've been surprised me all season, so I'm I'm ready to be proven wrong. Hey, more surprises, and that's just over the next month or maybe two months. Oh, Kyle, I mean, we had about 20 years.

of Belichick and Brady. Vrabel, I still think it's a massive mistake for the Tennessee Titans to have let him go. What do we got? We got 10 years minimum of May and Vable here. Is this what we're looking at?

Hey, I wouldn't put it past. I mean, as you well, you know as well as I do, JR, that the hardest thing to do. It is to find that franchise quarterback. You know, teams try over and over again to do it. A lot of misses, a lot more misses than there are a hit.

They have a guy on the control. Obviously, he's in the second year in the league. He's got the end of that ricky deal for a handful of more years. Mike Rabel, he's back home. He's a former player, he's a home, you know, home team guy who, you know, they know him when he's a player.

He won championship year as a player. He's gotten him right back on track here. His very first season here, back in New England as a coach. He's ready to settle in and be here somewhere for a long time. And, you know, the Patriots, they're used to stability.

You kind of mentioned that earlier, you know, they're used to that 20-year, you know, well, I'm not saying Brave was gonna be here for 20 years and make that kind of run. You said Ken, Ken, it it's possible. Brave was young, the quarterback's young. This team's got money to spend and they're a young team now. Um but I I think that you know At a minimum, this team's going to be relevant for the next 10 years.

And, you know, the way the league is shifting, the way that, you know, kind of the regimes are kind of changing all around the league, I think that the Patriots are well positioned to be in the mix. Yeah, well positioned to be in the mix. I know a lot of people were hoping for the downfall and that they'd stay down. And here they are just a few years later, back in the mix and young with room to grow. Hey, Kyle, we really appreciate the time.

Where can people follow you and keep up with all your work following the Patriots at the AP? I appreciate it, JR. I'm not on Twitter as much as I used to be. You can find me at Kay Hightower on Twitter, Kyle Hightower on Blue Sky, APNews.com and KyleHightower.com. And we'll be following you and keeping up the date, Kyle.

We appreciate it. Enjoy the rest of the season, okay? No problem, man. Thanks for having me. And thank you so much.

That Kyle Hightower covers all things New England Patriots. for the AP. Yeah, it's just nuts. I mean, we had a team, it seemed. Like the Indianapolis Cults had it.

They had the succession plan. When they were able to get their hands on Andrew Luck not too long after. You know, Peyton Manning went down following his own neck injury. And then, unfortunately, Andrew Luck, he retired due to his own injuries. He's like, listen, I'm sick and tired of peeing blood.

I'm getting a hell of one out of here. And that was it. And so we've had the cults that have been in the doldrum since. I don't even know if Daniel Jones is a long-term option. We know that he's going to be looking to still get paid even more money.

Um the Saints, Drew Brees goes away. They're looking for their franchise quarterback. Tom Brady, it goes without saying what was happening there. We talked about Mike Tomlin. with the Steelers and what took place after Ben Roffelisberger.

When your quarterback walks out the building, or he's too old and he has to limp out like Ben Roffelis Burger. You're screwed. You are screwed Until you get your hands on a new quarterback, a guy that you can trust. It's like the the odds and the football gods were just in favor of the Patriots. Because it's only been what five years?

Since poof Tom Brady says, I'm out of here. In what, 2020, 2019? And then the next thing you know, Well Here we are, they get their hands on Drake May, and in twenty twenty five, they have eleven wins. I know Robert Kraft has complained at times about being sick. about the Patriots and their standing and the results.

Well, Guess he's feeling better now. Could you imagine? Oh. Could you imagine if the Patriots win another championship? I know there are people who are sick and tired of the Kansas City Chiefs.

I'm like, well, they didn't do anything to anybody. Could you imagine if the Patriots won another title in, let's say, I don't know, the next three years, I would just. I wouldn't know what to tell you. I'm still sick of the Patriots from the past 20 years.

Okay. Hey, thank you so much to Kyle Hightower. For joining us here on the show. It's the JR Sport Reshow on the Infinity Sports Network. Speaking of Boston, getting sick of them.

Boston has a new pitcher in the Red Sox uniform. He's joining in with the rest of uh New England. He hates the Yankees. I'm going to tell you who it is on the other side of the break. We got more basketball to get into.

Of course, more football. There's so much to do here on the Infinity Sports Network. But right now, It's Tom Ford Newsflash. Here he is. It's Rich Ackerman.

You're listening to the JR Sport Brief.

It is the JR Sport Brief Show here with you coast to coast on the Infinity Sports Network. Hey, thank you so much to Kyle Hightower. He came through to have a chat with us about the New England Patriots. They got 11 victories, first team to 11 wins this year. And and how legitimate They are.

Can you trust them? Yeah, 11 wins, good team. Playoffs, yes. Championship, nah, I ain't going that far. Do I see them in the Super Bowl?

No, I don't see them there either. But this is an excellent start. from Mike Vrabel in his his first year here as a New England Patriots. stand at 11 and 2. They're going to go on a bye.

And then the next time you see the New England Patriots, they'll be up against the Buffalo Bills. You know they are in the same division, the AFC East. Bills are currently eight. And four after they went out there. And beat those Steelers.

I mean, right behind the Broncos, or excuse me, right behind the Patriots, we do have the Broncos. at ten and two and they're barely getting by. All these damn games that they're playing.

So the two teams with a 10. Win record another one with eleven. I don't know how much you necessarily want to go ahead and trust them when we actually get to the postseason. I may actually, well, I do feel a little stronger. about the Broncos with their defense if they're to get into the postseason.

But They're the top of the totem pole right now, but I do believe when we get to the Super Bowl. representing the AFC It's not going to be the Broncos or the Patriots. That's how I feel. Matter of fact, speaking of the Broncos, the defensive player of the week. Is brought to you by the Navy Federal Credit Union.

Our members are the mission. The defensive player of the week is Nick Benito. We saw what he did. He saved the day for the Broncos in overtime. He deflected Marcus Mariota's two-point conversion to seal that 27-26 victory.

For Denver. He had that pass deflection. He also had another sack, and now he has 10 and a half. On the year, one of the best defenders in the entire NFL, Nick. Bo Mito.

888-710-4ISN. That's 888-710-4ISN. I mean, it's only been a couple of days. Lane Kiffin is gone from Ole Miss.

Well now he has his his former players who are going after him. He basically has some of his former players who are calling him. A liar about his exit. Oh, yeah, it's getting good. It's getting good.

And it's only been, what, two days? Come on now. We're going to talk about that. At the top of the hour, we'll do a little bit of a reset, recap on everything we've discussed.

So far in the show. But we we're gonna include that one. Things are getting spicy. out in Oxford. Oh, this is going to be a a good one.

We get LSU and Ole Miss on the football field, but we gotta wait until next year. For that. Speaking about getting on the football field, unfortunately, we got some injury updates. We got people running around with. With broken hands and busted up legs, Yeah, before we get to Lane Kiffin, let me give you a little bit of a Injury Uh update.

Botcher, who's the most not that there's most important injured guy. Is there an injured guy that's more standoutish about what's going on this season? Name an injured guy. Uh Right now, Amon Raw. Not marty.

Yeah, Amin Ross St. Brown. This guy got an ankle sprain. He went down on Thanksgiving. We thought he might be cooked.

You know, longer than that, but apparently that may not be the case. Dan Campbell spoke about Amont Raj St. Brown and what the hell is going on with his leg. And this is what he said: He's better. He's better.

That's the best way to say it. But.

Okay. But I don't see him practicing it today, you know? But he is better. You know, so I know this about if he can play, if he can play, he'll play. You know, that's the best way to say it.

Is he close to getting back at all day or so? Yeah, I mean he's getting better, but I don't see him this week. Yeah, well the next time we'll see the Detroit Lions will be another Thursday game. Against the Dallas Cowboys. And that one guy we do know is out, a Terrion Arnold.

He's on injured reserve with that shoulder issue. Their cornerback, he's gone. We are not going to see him. And so Dan Campbell was asked about all these guys getting hurt, and he's just like, What the hell do you want me to do? It's football.

Yeah, I don't think in those terms. I just don't. I can't. I'm just, that's not how I think. The guys that we have here are here for a reason.

We got plenty of talent. We got plenty of good dudes that are made the right way. The coaches are good. And it's really about playing winning football, you know. And it's going to take all three phases, and it takes every guy that we have doing their job.

The margin for error is small, but it's doable. We can do it. But we got to eliminate the things that keep us from winning before we can actually win the game. Before you start battling against the opponent, you got to quit battling against yourself. Yeah, I'm not feelin' high.

On the Lions. I mean, the past couple of seasons, you could look at the Detroit Lions and say to yourself, oh my God. They got a chance. I think they missed their biggest chance last year when they lost to Washington. That was a.

That was a big blow, and it's hard to go back and be competitive every single year. It's tough. I'm not feeling good about the lines. Another injury this time to a quarterback, Justin Herbert, broke his hand, his left hand, non-throwing hand, on Sunday in their victory against the Raiders. He immediately had hand surgery, and now it's really about whether or not he's going to play in the Chargers next game on Monday night next week.

Against the Philadelphia Eagles. His crazy head coach, Coach Harbaugh, Jim Harbaugh, he talked about how tough Justin Herbert is. They put a pad on his hand and he went back out there. Yeah, Justin. It was You'll lead at it, you know, huh in terms of uh high pain threshold and Just the um The Ability, whether it's to play on one ankle.

I mean, there's a strength there. Yeah, listen, this dude is tough as nails. They cut that man's hand open yesterday. And he's going to try to play Monday night football against the Eagles. He's day-to-day.

That's a tough you know what. We'll see what happens there. We know the Chargers ain't squat. If he's not out there playing, but that's that's a lot of teams. You're missing your quarterback, you are missing a lot.

This is an injury, this is a good one. Sauce Gardner, it looked like he was done for the season.

Now everybody is an online doctor, sauce gardener. runnin' around on Sunday. And turned around, and he had to limp off the field. They thought he blew out his Achilles, but apparently that's not the case. MRI says it didn't happen.

He just has a cash string, which is the best. Possible scenario. Shane Steichen looking at his team on a losing streak, he was asked about Sauce Gardner's injury, and he was short and to the point. Um in regards to sauce Um it's it's uh his calf, um his Achilles is good to go, um but Probably missed some time. How much time I do not know at the moment right now.

Yeah, their next game is going to be against Jacksonville. That would be a massive blow. if they were to have had required him to try to go on a postseason run, And now he just blows out his Achilles.

So we'll we'll see what happens with Sauce Gardner. The Indianapolis Colts did Anybody ever really believe in them, though? Come on now. They were seven and one. And they became eight and two.

And now they've lost two games in a row.

Now they're eight and four. Jacksonville Jaguars are standing right in the face, and they're they're above them now in the AFC South. Yeah. Did they peak too soon? Were people too high on Daniel Jones?

Are they going to be ready to get him out the building? The time will tell. Anyway, it's the JR Sport Brief Show here with you coast to coast on the Infinity Sports Network. We're going to take a break. I'll be hanging out with you for one more hour.

We're going to hear from some of old missus. Players, the ones who are not happy. With Elaine Kiffin and his departure. We got a couple of old missed players. Calling Lame Kiffin a liar.

I'll tell you what they said on the other side of the break. We know he was alive. We'll talk about it on the Infinity Sports Network, the JR Sport Brief Show. I'm not lying. That 365 is paying out before the final whistle.

Check out Bet365's unrivaled early payout offer. When you bet on a team to win and they take a 17-point lead, you get paid no matter the final score. Forget the final whistle and start counting that cash. Hold up. You can early pay out on parlays too!
